Sure, this place is not necessarily authentic Mexican food, but it's still pretty palate-pleasing. First, we love the outdoor patio surrounded by lush leafy trees-- it's beautiful and perfect for enjoying some chips and salsa with a Corona. Salsa is decent, but they give you a small amount. Thankfully, refills are quick and free! We usually order the vegetarian offerings. Last night, I got the veggie quesadillas and really liked them. This place is unique in its veggie dishes because rather than the standard beans and green peppers and onions, they toss in stuff like carrots, red peppers, celery. It's unusual, but paired with jack cheese and black beans, it had a nice pop of flavor. Big portions-- everything comes with standard spanish rice and a cup of beans. I like their guac too. My bf gets the original veggie enchiladas and is officially a fan, although he does always need to add hot sauce as their enchilada sauce is quite mild. Again, this place is nothing special food-wise, but it's decent enough that we have gone a few times and always found it to suit our cravings, plus we love sitting on their fantastic deck.

My family and I were visiting southern Oregon and had been to this restaurant 8 years before. Now that we are returning with two kids, we thought we would try it again as my kids love Mexican food. The food was good, the kids cleaned their plates and our margaritas were huge and hit the spot on a hot summer day. My daughter brings a small notebook with her that she sketches in. We left Oregon and were on our way home the following day when we realized that she must have left it at the restaurant. They were closed the next two days but we called when they opened to ask if they happened to have the notebook. They did! And they were awesome and mailed it back to us! This is the kind of service you get from a family restaurant in a small town. You made my daughter one happy kid. Thanks again and next time we are up in Jacksonville we will be back again!

Nope. Ordinary, ordinary, ordinary. Heavy use of bottled or packaged recados or concentrated sauce products. Pleasant patio and at least the maitre d didn't call me "amigo." That was refreshing.

Somewhere far far away from the Mexican border a chef was challenged to create a menu exclusively with Old El Paso brand ingredients. What could go wrong? Canned beans and industrial tortillas masterfully filled with previously prepared meats and authentic Mexican flavors bottled in a factory in New Jersey. And thus La Fiesta was born. The effect is compounded with plastic cups and pitchers imported from 1985 and diner style silverware. The outdoor patio was nice and the location was convenient. C Street Bistro is right around the corner, however, and that's kryptonite to this otherwise foolproof restaurant formula. In fact, any other dining options in walking distance ought to be La Fiesta's downfall.

Hmmmm. So I should have read reviews before eating here. I'm only giving two stars because the chips were decent after dosing in salt. I had soup. Yes I love soup, when it's made right. I had 5 spoonfuls of broth, the rest Was soaked up by the hundreds of tortilla strips that were on top. The chicken had to be thigh meat, fatty..and 4 diced pieces of advacado, and about 1/3 cup of raw white onions. Not for me. My husbands meal had those funky tortilla shells filled with rice and beans.ewe. His tacos were wrapped in foil..really? I'm pretty sure they were not made to order. My advice here is skip, save your money..used to be great at one time..

Not good at all went there for a family dinner. the spicy shrimp weren't spicy in fact they were bathed with ketchup and what tasted like a taco bell fire sauce packet. The quality was so poor to be located in j-ville, and the prices are so outrageous for the crap quality I got. I also got guacamole to cover the taste a little bit and the guacomole tasted, and looked like it was scooped out of a bag with an ice cream scooper. Don't get me started on the margarita.... soo disappointed in the service there was no tip given and I will never go back. -_-

A nice restaurant, huge portion sizes for a good amount of money; has a mix of Mexican and old Jacksonville decor which kind of clash with each other but has personality. The food is good and has a simple twist with a little bit of a home kitchen taste of pre-made item assembly what you'd expect from standard Mexican restaurant fare; chips and dip, soft drinks, tea and lemonade and a full bar. One thing I did find different was pieces of melted processed american cheese on a chicken dish fried in flour tortillas said to be topped with jalapeño cheese - I was slightly dumb-founded when it came out, it tasted alright but I wasn't in the mood for processed American cheese and thought it could have been topped with regular cheddar cheese in its stead. Although it did have jalapeño cheese underneath the layer of melted processed slices, I thought I had been gypped as it was different from what I had read on the menu.

Canned salsa, an hour wait to pay the bill on a moderately busy evening, and $12.75 for a watery margarita and an iced tea. The servers were nice but that is all this place has going for it. Avoid!

Took friends there a few weeks ago. Worst tacos I ever saw or had. Super greasy, deep fried, no flavor except old grease. Canned refried beans and a small dab of rice. They're sure proud of their food because the bill for three meals was almost $50!! My friend's burger was tasteless junk with 1/2 slice of tomato on it. Jack in the Box was better at a fraction of the price. If you're considering this place throw $30 to $50 dollars into the street and you'll feel better or go to almost any other Mexican restaurant where they're not so proud of their lousy , bland, food.

I was pleasantly surprised to find good Mexican fare in this small Oregon town. Is it *Authentic*? Not really; but to be fair that wasn't my expectation in a town like this. It was pretty pricey, the apps are almost as expensive as the meals but for a tourist attraction town, pretty typical. The service was good and if the weather were nicer we definitely would've sat out in their cute cute patio! 36 bucks for 4 margaritas was unpleasant but they are HUGE and also "real drink" strong, not watered down or served from a machine...so if you're not much of a drinker you could split one at that price and both be satisfied. The salsa (pico de gallo) served with the chips is VERY bland. I asked for something spicier and they brought some habanero which was over the top spicy but great when mixed with the pico to taste.

I came here with three friends on a Sunday. It took ~ 12 minutes for anyone to first come to our table (they had seated us, so they had known we were there). It was not that crowded, and there were three servers, so the delayed time for contact and ordering drinks was mystifying. Two of us, both in our late 20's, were told we would not be served alcohol because we did not have our IDs on us- we were treated sternly for not having them, which seemed odd because we weren't nineteen year olds trying to secretly drink. Since we had heard positive personal endorsements for this place, we drove 10 miles to retrieve our IDs. We tried the guacamole (meh), the vegetarian trio special (again meh), and margaritas (still meh). This took ~1.5 hours to receive all of this, as the service continued to slog. I cannot imagine going back and giving this establishment my business ever again.

I wanted to like this place more, it was good but not great. We really wanted to sit on the balcony as we had seen it before from a distance. The balcony was under construction - OK that is understandable , but when we had called an hour ahead to reserve a spot on the balcony - tell us then , not when we show up, which was strange. We did sit for a bit before being served and we did sit for a bit once we had our menus. Other than that - the rest of the service went smooth and quick. The drinks were nice they had a " Fiesta" Size beer and a decent list of micros to choose from and also a very good house margarita. The tequila selection was very limited ( they only had like 3 to choose from) so I went with Hornitos as I simply hate Cuervo. The menu was interesting and being a seafood lover / pescatarian, it was nice to see a good variety of seafood dishes , they also had some vegetarian options. The menu was extensive. Some fajitas rolled by sizzling and they looked very good. For an appetizer, we had the quesadilla with no toppings so it was a cheese quesadilla just like you would make at home. I could not tell if the tortilla was home made. it was Ok - plate sized and we split it. I had the seafood enchilada and it was very good. my husband liked what he had but the issue was that so many of the dishes had a cream sauce ( and he dislikes cream sauces) it was tough for him to find something he liked even with the variety - they all kind of had the same creamy sauce. Overall the food was fine. I did order whole beans instead of refried, they brought me refried anyway. I didn't complain. Overall this was a very average and just fine Mexican food experience but I was hoping for so much better. I had built up my expectations because of the location. It was really nothing special , standard Mexican fare.

The worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. The service is excellent. However I ordered the fish burrito but it was more like a rice burrito. The salsa I flavorless and tastes like it came out of a can.

Seafood tacos were terrible, bland and mostly only a couple pieces of shrimp and then a ton of carrots. Had to ask for water twice. My daughter ordered nachos and all the garnishments were forgotten. Lots of flies on the outdoor patio. The service was sub-par. Our waitress actually told us that we should order big drinks so she wouldn't have to remember to re-fill them. At one point she came out and told us she though she had lost our food when it had already been served to us by someone else. The drink prices (alcoholic and non) were steep and at $2 per soda they could at least offer one free refill. Won't waste my money at La Fiesta again when there are so many yummier places with better service in Jacksonville.

This place sucks!!! I serve my dog better food. Prices are high for the quality of product you get. Chips and salsa were the only thing that didnt taste like complete garbage! Waiter was very nice though.

Hungry and about ready to eat anywhere when I went to the restroom to wash my hands... yes, this review is all about washing my hands... there was blood dripped across the bathroom floor and onto the counter. It was disgusting. I told a waitress and she acted like she didn't care. I told her again and my husband thought maybe she didn't speak English. After waiting 8-10 minutes for service (no one was in the restaurant) we asked another waitress and she said, no, everyone there spoke English fluently. I then got up to see if the bathroom had been cleaned (trying to give them another chance)- NO- so we left. NEVER going to this place again!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!

Good old La Fiesta. Try the Enchilada or Burrito Sampler. I always take about half of my dinner home for leftovers. Funky atmosphere and good food. Sit outside on the patio on a warm night or on the front porch late in the afternoon when the sun is shadowed by the building. Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Rogue Valley. 1/15/15 and things change. Not nearly as good as before but I can't really pin it down except to say that it isn't as flavorful. Now, we go to Molcajete in Medford which I think is the best locally.

Nice patio, but unimpressive food. My son got a scrambled egg burrito with the option to add bacon, and we think the bacon was rancid. He said it tasted bad so my husband tried it and immediately picked all the bacon out of the burrito. My husband will eat anything and is not one to think food has gone bad, so if thinks something is spoiled, I believe him! Everything else was fine, nothing special. I wouldn't go back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
