I was finally able to get myself out to Meaner Weiner to try one of their large sausages. It was difficult as they're only open on the weekends, but I was finally able to make it out during my lunch break. Not only were the sausages delicious and big, they have no preservatives! Covered in bacon and onions, they offer many different sauces you can add yourself such as mustard, ketchup, mayo, guacamole, spicy mayo, sriracha, bbq sauce, wasabi sauce as well as relish, sauerkraut and jalapenos! The new owners are friendly and genuinely excited about their business. We offered them suggestions to improve their business if they're still getting their feet wet and they took them kindly. It's a little difficult to find as it's literally a window tucked beneath a structure next to the very last MAX stop in Hillsboro (Hatfield Government Center). They need some more signage and maybe a mean guy wearing a hot dog suit?! All in all, a great experience and I heard they're working on a food truck as well!

Good food but pricey for the amount you get. Nothing that great. The food is good but i could make the same food at home The different types are cool

Went yesterday with my wife after reading the great reviews but sadly it was closed up with a " closed until further notice" sign out front. We are bummed

I have gone here several times. Great hotdogs!!! The best. However, I am writing this to warn people... Do Not Get The Biscuits and Gravy... The worst I've ever had. Frankly not really biscuits and gravy; it was four hotdog buns slowly dissolving in package made white gravy. That's what it was!! Hotdog buns!! It was truly one of the worst things I've ever had. Even though I like their hotdogs, it will be a long time before/if I ever go back. To sell that garbage to someone just shows that they don't care about their customers or their food.

Free bacon fridays! Not much else to be said, but the wieners are great. Awesome staff and a wonderful place to escape for lunch. Again Free Bacon Friday!

FREE BACON FRIDAY A combination of three words that I truly enjoy. That's got me inspired to explore other three word combinations that I would (or perhaps have) enjoy(ed): Here's your beer! Filet: medium rare. It's not yours. Car's paid for! ... et al. What's that you say, I should get to the point? FINE. I re-visited Meaner Wiener today after WAY TOO LONG of an absence. Same nice fella, better menu than when I was there back in... 2010? Oh jeez I'm old. So I was in the mood for something basic (I'm a little groggy after the 4th last night) and he helped me pick a basic dog. And then he dropped the FREE BACON FRIDAY on me, which just instantly made my day better. He threw some cheddar on too which I appreciated. Note: the bacon is chopped, and he puts that on the bun BEFORE the dog (along with cheese, if you ask for it, which, by the way, is also FREE). This is important because for my dog it created a nice, crisp "bed" for the dog to sit in instead of resting right on the bun. Made for a good texture. I added sweet relish, a mildly spicy mayo bbq sauce and sauerkraut. Weird, I know, but they all sounded good individually, and whaddayaknow, turned out PERFECT. Oh lordy this dog was good. Tack on a fresh cold Coke and a bag of Tim's Dill Pickle chips and it was an outstanding lunch. So, in conclusion: FREE BACON FRIDAY

I have worked across the way from this place for over a year. Don't know why I didn't go in before. I think the location inside the end of the line of the max can be a little confusing, daunting, off putting??? Today, it was sunny. Good day for something yummy on a bun, right? Kind of like a mid-day barbecue? I got a chicken basil tomato sausage, called "Greener Wiener" for $4.50. I got it with free grilled onions. The man behind the counter was friendly and fun. He did take his time chatting and getting my food ready, but I was the only customer and I really didn't mind so much. He grilled the sausage, and the bun, and handed me my parcel of goodness. I slathered on mustard and relish ( yes, they have other sauces, but I'm a simple girl and even the onions were more than I usually doctor the thing). Then I wrapped it up and took it back to my desk like a trophy. LUNCH! Cheap luncH! Several people asked what I was eating and told me it smelled "TOO GOOD". It tasted great too. Perfect. It was hot and delicious. I will have to do this again. I feel silly for not going sooner. MMM. Happiness on a grilled bun. And I feel good knowing it's Zenner's sausage, made in Portland, without bad stuff. Nice.

The hot dog was great, the location is fun, but bring a coat as its covered outside seating. I would give more stars, but I burned my mouth on the blazingly incandescent hot dog. Man that thing was hot. I will definitely go back when I have a dog craving on the outer west side.

I always have the Meaner Wiener from this place. Excellent locally owned business. Great fast service, and delicious food. If you're starting or ending your trip to downtown Hillsboro, this is definitely the place to go for a good quick bite to eat.

you won't find a meaner wiener anywhere! I really enjoyed this place, the owner was super nice and the dog was great, they have a large variety of sauces to put on your dogs and they are very happy to suggest toppings. I work right up the street so I will be back!

My husband had been looking for a good hotdog place for while. This is at the end of the line max station. The soda selection is wide and we were able to pick up Tim's pickle chips. Good stuff! I had the barnyard dog and it was great. Tasty moist well flavored sausage with a bit of a snap to the casing. I put the SMO sauce, their homemade spicey mayo bbq sauce was wonderful. My husband had a typical hotdog and said the meat was high quality and very good. Also we both liked the toasted slightly crunch buns. And the grilled onions on mine were perfect, along with tilamook chedar an absolute delight. My husband would have been happier with some not sweet relish and fresh tomato slices but the hotdogs were really tasty and we would happily return. Also the owner is very personable and friendly and did a good job answering our questions. Happy to have a good hot dog place nearby!

I saw the sign for over a year on the corner of Main and 1st, but I just could't figure out where the heck this place was. This little gem is hidden at the end of the MAX station in Hillsboro. The have music, a sitting area, and delicious dogs. The bun comes toasted, there are a variety of different free toppings you can add like tillamook cheese, jalapenos, sriacha, poncho sauce (a spicy sour cream sauce) and of course the main fare like relish, mustard, ketchup. They'll even sauté the onions for you. A great lunch for under $5. And the owner couldn't be any nicer. PS. I heard if you come during lunch time on Friday's, it's free bacon day.

Went with the crew from work to try out something new. Holy hot dog heaven! I had the dirty wiener, such a lovely name. It's basically a chili dog. Excellent frank, perfectly cooked beef chili, topped with cheese, grilled onions, jalapenos, chipotle sour cream AND BACON. Fridays are free bacon Fridays, so load up! Unfortunately the owner mentioned he would be closing in a month or so to take a job out of the country. Bummer! Someone needs to buys him out before he goes. Cool location too, right at the end of the train station (blue line).

Friendly staff, good food, and a really good variety of meat. Took my co-wokers for lunch and they all seemed to enjoy it. The outdoor seating may be great in the summer but was a little rough today. The good news is they pack your food ready to go. All in all I'm a fan and can't wait to go back to try the rest of their 'dogs.

Located at the end of the MAX line in Hillsboro (literally, the end), this little hole in the wall Hot Dog haven is perfect for a town lacking in culinary diversity and taste. Hillsboro is a city consumed by fast food and national chains. It's nice when somebody can come along and open a place selling something so simple and delicious. I've only had the cheddar-jalapeno dog and the linguica. Both were delicious... enough to make me want to go back and try everything else. This place is cash only, but there's an ATM right next to it.

Bad ass dogs, fully loaded (no extra charge) has bacon, onion and cabbage. I had the "Franks" and it did not disappoint. Must've been a 1/2 lb dog and of Zenner quality. Delicious overall ! Would've been 5 stars but it took a bit longer than I thought was necessary as I was the only patron at the time. Otherwise a thumbs up !
