Carnitas Taco Al Carbon. Oh, that'll get my attention. The "al carbon" products are Del Taco's attempt at street food. It's pretty passible if someone else is buying it for you. The pork has that yummy butter-y flavor one would expect, but it is more of a shreadded thing without the crunchy edges that the real deal would have. Cilantro and chopped onions with some tasty hot sauce top this in a couple of traditional small corn tortillas. But. A $1.29 each? The 30 cent surcharge that you would be paying would be for being able to drive up in your jammies or with one-eye closed so you could see which road is the right one to drive on.

Update to 4 stars. The burger is consistently good. They had fries the next time I went, yeehaw! I wasn't blown away by them, however. They're crinkle cut jobbers, and not wholly unlike a bag of Ore-Ida frozen that you could reproduce time and time again in your very own oven. Salty and kinda limp and soggy. Some people definitely prefer those (Izzy N., I'm looking at you) but for me... not so much. They're fine, but they're not the star of the show. That'd be the Double Del cheeseburger.

Del Taco is a pretty cool chain. I've always liked that they kinda do their own thing, and feel pretty different than most fast food places. It's still fast food, mind, but it's a huge step up from Taco Bell and the ilk. I also have to give props to their fish/shrimp options - hands down the best seafood I've ever gotten from a fast-food place. This place also has a very friendly and awesome staff, and the fact that they're open 24 hours a day is excellent for my habits.

The steak macho-nacho order was the worst mexican food we have ever had. It was dry, skimpy on the sour cream and guac, there was hardly any cheese on it, it smelled metallic (jalapeno preservative), the chips were bland, the steak was light gray and grisly. There was not even ONE quality or tasty ingredient in this order. It was foul, and after two bites we tossed it. What a waste of $4.50. We should have gotten the nachos at Taco Bell. We will never come back. The service was friendly, unfortunately it can't make up for the terrible food. I have no idea how Del Taco stays in business.

  • J B.

Yep, I'm givin' them 4 stars too. Not that it means that much to me, but the employees, for some reason, actually seem motivated to HELP customers at this place rather than other drive-throughs that would just assume shoot you in the face as they would to take your money. That said, I LOVE their macho-tacos. Hands down the best, cheap (come on...a dollar and change) ground beef junky tacos you can find. Love them!

This location is the best of the del Taco restaurants in the Portland area. The drive through is actually open 24 hours a day like it's supposed to be. Recently, this location went through a remodel and carries the new del Taco "test" (well, must be official now) modern store. Inside, you'll find a salsa bar with pumps of the three traditional hot sauces and two bowls of what appears to be fresh or high-quality canned salsa. Now you can flavor up your food like Californians do at Rubio's or El Pollo Loco, others do at Baja Fresh nationwide and so on. The interior emphasizes the fact the chain does grate cheese fresh daily in-store, cooks its beans fresh in-store and serves handmade pico de gallo. Pico de gallo is not part of the salsa bar. Gone is the neon lighting, bright colored chairs and styled walls, queue area for taking orders and framed prints that are meant to evoke the American southwest. The one negative for me was that the location was no longer playing music. Del Taco, like Chipotle, always has enjoyable in-store music in my opinion. As for the food, all the del Taco favorites are there and they continue to serve "al carbon" (street tacos) and a few more authentic offerings. As part of the recent remodel, they still serve hamburgers but they have less prominence in the new menu. You can still eat a lot of food for a little bit of money or try out a few more expensive new offerings such as the fajita burrito.

I'll be honest, I adore del taco for its food. It has taco bell and taco del Mar beat hands down. The ingredients always seem more honest - you can tell it's ground beef, for example and they use real cheese. The reason I'm giving this location 2 stars is: 1) The staff is always slow, putting every car on 'hold' while they attend to the car at the window. I used to work drive thru at a burger king - it's called multitasking, learn it. 2) They never get my order right and I have to repeat myself 3 times at the mic. How hard is it to understand 'no lettuce'? 3) Due to its location, it's always super busy at lunch and dinner times. This wouldn't be a problem, normally, but because they're so slow, it can take 15 minutes to go through the line and another 5 at the window. Wish this location had better customer experience.

I love Del Tacos food, but the service at this location is consistently terrible. With 2 people in the dining room and 2 cars ahead of me it really shouldn't take over 10 minutes to get through the drive thru. Going inside usually isn't much faster

Um...it's Taco B***......It's FREAKIN' TACO B***!!! Except they have fish tacos. And they also have Pibb Xtra in the fountain, which is what takes them up a star. I had a burrito/soft taco thing. It was okay, but a little familiar. One extra bonus was that it was made fresh and hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp getting soggy. Sadly the service was VERY slow. I'll try back later when they're a little more established and not weighed down with newbies running the shop.

For fast food I really enjoy this place. The food especially the Tacos are always DELicious. It may not be true authentic Tacos but they are still delicious. Another place that is clean and really good employees staffed here.

Ive been through the drive through here two or three times now. It is not fast. The workers are friendly and nice. The french fries, if hot, are awesome. Something about crinkly things. I dont know what that is. Kid loves them. The first time I had a turkey taco salad. It tasted good. If i hadn't turned a corner too sharply on the way home it might have looked better. It was in a pretty flimsy container. Just a warning. Child likes the quesadillas. They are not special but they're better than taco bell and there are no veggies in the plain cheese one. Kid friendly and wallet friendly. I dont remember what they cost but they are cheap. This last time I planned on a salad but they're doing a real avocado promotion. I got some kind of grilled chicken burrito with a few chicken chunks, black beans, pico, and BIG fresh slices of perfect avocado. There might have been rice and cheese in there but I'm as usual hyperfocused on the avocado. ( Im the anti Yvette, I LOVE avocado!!) It totally surprised me, bumping my review from 3 to 4. Oh and the strawberry lemonade was pretty good. Im sure I wont ever go in but if I'm desperate for a quick cheap dinner for us, this isn't terrible. Just dont consider it Mexican food and youre fine. It's all about context people. If you want REAL Mexican head to Amelias or Ochoa. Ps their hot sauces are not all that hot.

The tacos are good (but USA style NOT authentic its the food equivalent of Spanglish). The prices are good and there are no Taco Times that convenient for me. The workers are pleasant. The place is usually clean. I would probably give it a fourth star except the point of fast food is it is supposed to be fast, and this place isn't! I still can't bring myself to get fries with tacos so I cant review them, the chicken tacos are only a buck and taste good. The beef tacos are good but I wish they came in a soft shell. Today the Del Taco shells shattered on the first bite. Over all I think the managers here need to step up their game. It shouldn't take so long to get the food. Tip-watch the counter, they get talking and for get to call numbers sometimes.

  • Dean F.

Needs a major management overhaul. The food is fine once you finally get your order, 50/50 chance on getting what you ordered. Dining room is usually a bit messy. I enjoy the food here as a fast unique option, especially the breakfast menu but I've had some really bad experiences waiting in the drive thru and then not being able to speak with a manager because they aren't there when they should be. Hopefully a corporate audit will occur and get this location back on track before they find themselves on the losing end of a competitive market. Final thought, be weary of the "Sale" signs in the windows, they have time restrictions on them in small print, this seems like a common marketing technique as of late, I've seen similar offers at Carl's Jr. Not surprisingly the counter help never seems to know what's on sale or not anyway so little chance you actually get the posted deal. Thats more of just a head's up and not a factor in my low score review, thats from the wait times and lack of order accuracy.

Most Del Taco's I would give a 4th star. This one is to slow, after I don't know maybe half an hour? it was a long time and they had not called my number. I went up to ask, the worker walked over and picked up a tray on the counter behind her and gave it to me. The tacos were luke warm. Usually the food is good and the workers friendly. The problem is they like talking to much and forgot my food! Prices are good. The location is hard to get to through. They are in the far back with other fast food joints up front.

Guilty pleasure alert! Spending many years in Southern California I loved hitting up this fast food spot. They have something for everyone in the family I'm sure. Even burgers, which may not be the best, but they satisfy a craving for bad burgers now and then lol. Lots of Mexican fare, tacos, burritos, nachos. Beef, steak, chicken selections. Currently offering fish tacos and during certain seasons they also offer shrimp and carnitas (seasoned marinated pork). Everyone loves the crinkle cut fries, they even make them nacho style with cheese sauce and jalapeños. I've had nearly everything on their menu and I like it all. Personally I favor this place over the bell. Give it a shot.

I like the food but the staff is really slow. Started out with 2 people we ordered dine in it took 20+ min to get our food People looking around not knowing what they are doing. Drive thru tendered at 17+ min. Dine in tendered a 22+ Min. With 4 people I ordered my food for family at hm togo at 11:40 and at 11:53 add 3 more people and still no food. 22 min later asked for money back. This is not fast food. This is cazy. Out of control.

We visit here about three times a month, this is a cheap place to get three am tacos without cooking it yourself. I always order a beer battered fish taco and the fries. The fries are heavenly. At a taco place? Yes, you read that right. I love the fries at this fake mexican joint. We've only had to double back a couple times for a wrong or missing order, and they are always nice. Sometimes it can get incredibly busy at night, and take quite a while. Recently there had been this really friendly kid at the window late nights, he's something else! Never been disappointed with what we order and always have a good experience.

I'm a so cal native, so when i moved to Hillsboro a few weeks ago, the proximity to this place was secretly a huge plus. I love del taco. Probably too much. Which is why its hard to write this review. We've now been to this del taco three times and each time we've had our drive thru order screwed up. "A plain steak and cheese taco with a flour tortilla." Sounds like it should be easy enough to put into a register and even easier to make right? Nope. After reviewing what went wrong on our receipt the first time, it was clear that inputting a simple order like this involved much more than we thought. To get the correct item ordered, one has to punch in the "carne asada street tacos" button and then chop it up; taking away individual toppings apparently, and then also adding things back in like "steak" and "cheese". Seems overly complicated but we did have them execute it right ONCE. The other two times ordering the same thing, the same way, were utter failures. A related issue also seems like it may be a language barrier. But this is only because when something equally as simple as "a macho chicken burrito with extra sour cream" is punched in correctly and it comes back wrong twice for the same transaction, both times with ground beef but with one wrapper that clearly has a sticker on it that says "chicken", there's definitely a communication break down. I believe an improvement to this locations drive thru service is far past due. They need to get a new speaker, one with a screen so the customer can see what's being entered or maybe reconfigure their POS so its easier to use and for the kitchen to understand because, as it is now, the service sucks. Get with it Del Taco!

Live nearby and I just wanted to give a shout out to this Del Taco - everytime we go there the associates are just really nice - not every visit has been perfect but I can tell you that they do everything they can to make it right and for that I will gladly spend my money when I need a taco hit :)

Review is based on this locations only... Ate here for the first time and was a complete let down! I was there around 5:45am, order just a simple bacon burrito meal and ended up waiting 12 minutes for 2 hash brown sticks that were very hard covered in dry shortening. My bacon burrito only had eggs & red sauce no cheese or bacon. The lady was cleaning the whole time while I was waiting didn't have a care in the world. Those same dirty hands put my food in the bag. I asked to speak to the Manager and she said she was it. Really what a joke.....

I normally enjoy Del Taco quite a bit for a value mexican influenced fast food place. The quality is normally pretty good with pleasant staff. It could have been an off day as I came during a week day lunch but my food quality really turned me off. I ordered something totaling $5. Asked if I could have some rice in my burrito, which after hesitation was granted. When I got to the window I was advised my total was $6.60. So charging an extra 33% of my original total for rice...ok, I didn't ask if the rice would be an up charge, fine. I'll pay for something I want. I gladly paid. But when I bit into the burrito the rice was complete porridge. It was unbelievable. I've never even seen rice that mushed, watery, and disgusting. I threw away the burritos. I was bummed after looking forward to my lunch. I gave Del Taco an extra star because I normally am really pleased with the food quality.

Hands down, the best chicken soft tacos for drive thru food. In all the years that I have frequented this place, I have not set foot inside so it's all drive thru experience for me. It used to be that it was quick and fast. We normally just order chicken soft tacos, fries (LOVE the crinkle fries) and soda. When we stray from our order, things get a little dodgy. Last night was probably the worst experience I had. We went through the drive thru about a quarter tip midnight. It was a Friday night. Per the restaurant hours, the dining room area would be open until midnight. There was a little wait time before we got to the window but when we left the window, we found that there were no fries with our order. I went to the restaurant but it was locked. The guy told me that there was only two workers and we would have to go all the back thru drive thru again for our fries. WTF! There was a young woman in the restaurant still and it was not midnight yet soo....explain me that. We go through the drive thru. It takes a good 10-15 minutes. Sure we could have gone without the fries but then we would have paid more for what we actually got. Aside from last night's experience, which was a really crappy, things are usually okay. Service has dipped a little but I still come back for chicken soft tacos.

4 Stars because it's the ONLY Del Taco within 20 miles of me. The service is as unstable as a shuttle re-entry. The staff is made of mostly younger employees that will usually advise you they'd rather be somewhere else, even when unprompted. The food is typical Del Taco but they don't always give you "Classic Tacos" when you order them. I tend to end up with the smaller, less desirable half filled and half cheesed iterations. My kid loves the bacon quesadillas and my wife enjoys the street tacos. What can I say, we miss the one in Las Vegas.

When it comes to fast food, Del Taco is gets the most of my hard earned cash. Followed by Popeye's, Carls Jr, and Wendy's in order. When it comes to dirty, counterfeit Mexican food, you just cant do better. Those chipotle beef tacos must be laced with crack, since theyre damn near addictive. I think theres a 12 step program to get off of those but damn if Ill ever try to quit! And when I tell the clerk to 'give me a ton of the Inferno sauce' they don't screw around. Once, the girl filled up an ENTIRE BAG with it! I don't know if she took me literally or was being a smartass, but I became a D.T. fan right there. Ok, D.T. is fast food. Know that going into it. But Ive never had a bad experience, and the menu usually has something new going on. Whether its my lunch break at work or if its 4AM after leaving the bar, I know what Im going to get: Every pennys worth of dirty counterfeit Mexican food that will taste pretty damn good!

This is not really Taco Bell but I can tell why people would call it that. Certainly they are fair to compare. Oh how I love to rhyme accidentally! This is what makes them good for a tasty cheap lunch: the chicken soft tacos. Their a buck, you need 2-3 to fill up. At Taco Bell the same size chicken taco is $1.69. What the Hell Taco Bell? Oh there I did it again! Though TB can make them Fresco style and that is a really good thing because that's healthier and tastier. I asked DT to make it fresco and they did, it would be easier if it was a menu item though so I didn't have to always explain no iceberg lettuce, cheese and heavy sauces, just tomatoes and onions. But for the price and for the very well seasoned tender chicken, this is the way to go. Plus Thursday's after 3pm their 3 for $2.19, nice. I never can go then of course. The only thing I'd change about the chicken is slightly less seasoning because it's a bit salty. The big fat chicken taco is really good, comes in a pita rather than tortilla which I prefer, but for $2.59, you are getting the same amount of chicken as a chicken soft taco for $1.19. The peeps are nice here. The quessedia (sp) wasn't grilled enough so the cheese wasn't totally melted, wasn't great, not crunchy nor crispy. Their little burger is not bad for a place that doesn't specialize in burgers. Their steak carnita is very chewy, I do not recommend. To get that 5th star, this is what needs to happen: Offer nacho option that is smaller, they only offer a big size. Offer a chicken burrito without rice, they all freaking have rice, no beans too, just chicken and veggies. I like my beans alone in a burrito. Lastly, TB has something called a chicken crunchwrap supreme. Though the nacho sauce I hate, the rest is so good. A warm grilled tortilla folded in an octagon shape with a crunchy taco inside. It's the best thing they offer but it goes up in price every 5 minutes. There is just something about a warm tortilla with some crunch.

You know the sad thing about my life in pdx....is that their street style tacos here are much better than 80 percent of the taco trucks I have eaten at in inner Portland. That is a sad sad thing. The tortilla was actually better than most as well as the meat did not make me want to vomit. Yea take that los gorditos.

Been a while since I first ate here. Food is typical Americanized Mexican food. Nothing more, nothing less. I ate the steak and chicken tacos that came with guacamole and pico de Gallo and it was pretty tasty, though not enough meat and the tortilla could have been a bit bigger. Prices are reasonable. Del Taco is a California based company, so you get some what of an change. (Yes, TB is from california too, but they made so many changes to please the kids and walefare people who go there, its pathetic. )

Why devote time and energy writing a Yelp review for a basically non-descript corporate entity, you may be wondering? This is an entirely relevant and valid question. All I can say is,remember the importance of location. Know your audience. In the sleepy, apocalyptic, perpetual strip mall oblivion of Hillsboro Oregon, there are few after-hours options available for those of us beyond the land of the living (there's a reason it's called "Graveyard shift", oh yes) After a little bit of internet research, it appears Taco Bell has an insurmountable 2 year lead on Del Taco (Taco Bell's first outrage vs. society appeared in the year of our Lord, 1962, whereas Del Taco has been downright comfy--and nearly invisible--- riding the purse strings since 1964). 2 years is a very large lead to give ones competition--- that's a heckuva lot of unsatisfactorily outcomed cases of bloating, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, and (paradox of paradoxes) weight gain! Alas, there is the true magic, and neverending allure of fast food pseudo Mexican cuisine. How is it humanly possible to throw together substandard ingredients that are nowhere near covered in the sub-dollar menu items, for food that not only fails to satisfy even the most ordinary of appetites, and oftentimes does lead to sometimes not un-lengthy sojourns to ye olde honey pot, and yet (yet!) causes the same people to fatten up--why, it just doesn't seem possible, upon further analysis, does it? del Taco offers many differnent ways to disappoint you. On the plus side, as Jerrod previously mentioned, you may always ask for and expect to receive in full, the Macho version of your meal, which might leave you, as it did me, wishing for a full-blown Fu-Manchu Moustache side order. Also, their simple bean and cheese burritos are surprisingly tasty and filling, and the green sauce is the bee's knees. The kid at the drive through window was affable, though it took forever---an entire lunch hour!--- waiting behind only two other cars to get the grub and make the short sojourn back to work. I'd eat here again before ever giving Taco Bell another chance, but I'd have to remember to plan ahead and account for the super slo-mo factor. So few other places in bother trying, out in this neck o' the woods, they do get credit for showing up..

Fact: I'm giving this fast food joint 4 stars. See, they aren't spendy but these tacos are good. *Almost* taco cart good. Besides my favorite (chicken) they have carnitas, steak, etc. Everything is well cooked, seasoned, quick, tasty and has things like cilantro, onions ,etc. It's miles and leaps beyond Taco Bell or similar. (Not like that is HARD!). Plus they have the oddest menu. Burger, fries? Yup. My favorite oddity is their cheescake bites because they are damned tasty. Make sure you eat them over a napkin or something 'cause they are messy. So yeah, that's a four star fast food joint for ya.

There's a Del Taco in Oregon? Better yet, it's less than a mile away from my office! Awesome. That means I don't have to fly 900 some odd miles south to get my fix. Let's be honest, this is basically just quick, cheap, good junk food. A real guilty pleasure. That being said, it's still better than most of the places that purport to be Mexican food around here. It sure beats the other fast food joints in this shopping center, but that's kinda like being the skinniest kid at fat camp. The quesadillas are my faves but tend to be on the more expensive side, so I'll take one of those and add a taco or 2 (w/ some inferno sauce) and some nachos or fries, and get out for about $5. The drive thru moves rapidly, I may order 5 things and still get everything within 2 minutes. I'm not a fast food type person at all, but it's hard to avoid temptation sometimes when I'm in a bind for lunch knowing there's a Del Tacs just around the corner.

My real rating on this establishment is about 4 1/2 stars, but that isn't an option, so I rounded up to five. The food prices cannot be beat. You can get items starting from 69 cents. Beat that over priced Taco Bell! The food is pretty good. My favorites are the Ranch Chicken Soft Taco, The Chipotle Bean Burrito, and the Macho Nacho. I agree with the reviewer who said that the iced coffee is not very good. I go in late at night, and the staff are always real friendly. I think the beans taste a "little" better at Taco Bell, but not much, which is why I'd take away half a star. The rest of the food there is as good or better. I only wish there were more of these closer to my house!

Hello, Yelpers. Look at the other places in this parking lot, now back to Del Taco, now back at the other places, now back to Del Taco. Thankfully, they are not Del Taco, but if they stopped making the same ol' shit...they would still not be Del Taco. This Del Taco has never done me wrong. In a sea of burger and fry joints, this Del Taco is in a supreme location - offering a break from the norm, while offering a better version of the norm as well. Unlike Taco Hell, they haven't caused me to spend the next day hanging out with my porcelain friend. I love their fries. Why does everyone love their fries? BECAUSE THEY ARE AWESOME. Because they don't sit under heating lamps all day like at Burger Shit right next door. They have always been made approximately 5 seconds before they are handed to me. Always. Del's chicken is amazing. I'm going to say that the chicken macho burrito is my favorite fast food burrito ever. The only gripe I have is with the quesadillas. Please, please spread the cheese toward the outside of the tortilla. Because the entire outside of the quesadilla is dry and totally not edible. It has the texture of leather. P.S. I'm on a horse.

This is a great business! As a California native, I grew up on Del Taco, and I can definitely attest to this store's friendliness. Never have I received an incorrect order from this shop, and the drive-thru people are still polite even at night. Look for the older female manager working the drive-thru if you go late -- she's always super friendly. And the new hire with the braces is adorable. And learning fast! Never hesitate to ask for sauce if you need it -- they give you three packets right away (the perfect amount!). And they make sure to give you your drink first, so you can sip it while waiting for the rest of your order.

Going to Del Taco is like a pilgrimage to my homeland. In Southern California Del Tacos saturated the fast food industry. They generously peppered freeway exits and strip malls, there was no hiding from them. There is 5 locations in all of Oregon, huh? I can't tell you how many times I've woke up hung over next to a half eaten bean and cheese burrito, met up with friends for Taco Tuesday (3 for a dollar), or gorged myself with chili cheese fries with my gal pals. My favorite thing to get from Del Taco is a red burrito and french fries. I then open up the burrito dump a handful of French fries inside with 1.5 packets of Del Scorcho sauce and fold it back up. Perfection. Everything on the menu is pretty dependable, I've never struck out..even with the cheese burger! 24-hour drive thru...rad. Del Taco is like a Best Friend and although I have love for Muchas Gracias and other Mexican fast food chains of the north west, it's just not the same. Oh how I've missed you.

Had some coupons and decided to give this place a try. Well, it's on par with Taco Bell, at least in my opinion. Ok, maybe a notch above, but really, nothing to get excited about. It's cheap tacos and the like. If I'm near there, maybe, but wouldn't go out of my way to seek one out. Not sure what all the raving is about.

Let me start of with saying, the seasoning that Del Taco uses is offensive to my taste buds and I do not like it. Anything I eat from here in a tortilla, I taste for about 4 days. I hate the beef tacos, the quesidillas are gross, ( what isn't stuck to the fucking paper.) I like the burger...the double Del the patties are small, the cheese gets infused into the meat, the lettuce is shredded, and the thing is pretty cheap. It's nothing special, it doesn't pretend it is. I like the crinkle cut fries...they serve em just like this at White Castle. Just like this. They always seem to be piping hot fresh. Every single time. The sides, the fact I can say I want to macho size it without so much as a snicker, and the friendly drive-thru staff make Del Taco, one of the better burgers in this parking lot.

Del Taco is my Tuesday Night go to for Dinner. I love their bean burritos and the fresh Iced Tea. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I used to eat at them in California....Way better than Taco Bell. Like the freshness of it and the variety....I like that they are open all the time when you need a fix!! I have been going to this one for two years and the staff is virtually unchanged from my first visit....that speaks volumes to me. Hooray for Del Taco!!!

Driving home from the club at 2 am? Just need a fix to satisfy your stress eating from studying? Want something fast? And affordable? Then Del Taco can be the solution to your dilemma. I've never really had anything but their crunchy 49 cent tacos. But now I've expanded and tried their chicken soft tacos, nachos grande and burritos as well. I don't have any complaints at all from Del Taco. I must also add that they like to add a lot of cheese to the tacos and lettuce (plus!). This place has a 24 hour drive thru! Yay!!!! They delivered and has hit the spot from every visit. (No pun intended). Would I go back? For my happy stomach, definitely!

By far, this is the best deal on cheap taco lunch in the immediate area. Their customer service is great and Del Taco gives away free food constantly; so there's never lack of value. Check their webpage and facebook for free breakfast and lunch items; in-store signage for gift cards with free meals, etc. After having eaten hundreds of their tacos, it did make me queesy to hear about their use of pink slime in the taco meat; for that, I have to lower my rating of this place significantly out of disrespect for their customers, and I have only been back to eat tacos with real chunks of chicken and strawberry shakes. The tacos are made with freshly prepared ingredients and prepared right before your eyes the moment you order it. Try a strawberry shake--they come with actual strawberries in them, unlike BK, etc Taco Tuesdays and Thursdays have special pricing on tacos--3 tacos for $1-2, depending on ingredients--you just can't beat a pink-slime meal for $2! The fries are good. Two Macho Tacos is a meal for even a very hungry person. This particular location has nice outdoor seating and is kept clean, with containers of extra taco sauce on the table.

Fast food tacos. However they have these "Carbon" tacos that resemble actual taqueria fare (corn tortillas, cilantro, etc). They do slather hot sauce on them to give them some semblance of flavor. But I can't fault them- they're a fast food joint. The fries were good, too.

4 stars you ask. Really 4 stars? You betcha your sweet bippy they get 4 stars. Not because they have the best food in the world. Not that they have the best ingredients, or the best service, or always a happy face or any of the other crap we like to pass judgements on. No they get 4 stars because they are what they are, a California (so I've been told) chain that does decent americanized mexican food, cheap. 24 hours a day. Decent beans, killer veggie burrito, burn your butt fried jalepeno slices (yumm!). Burgers , fries and shakes for those who want them. Decent fish tacos, Forget your diet fried carmel cheesecake bites... and the list can go on. I don't drive by here often after work, but when I do go out of my way it's cause they're way better then taco smell, and most of the other fast food places. Ooh...did I mention the little packets of their inferno sauce? They actually have a little kick to them! So if you're out in Hillsboro and want to do a little pretentious food slumming, just hit the drive through, and we'll keep your guilty little secret.

My first job was at Naugles (Del Taco before it was Del Taco) so I have strings attached to this establishment. With that said, I still love eating here! Yes, it's fast food and it's good! Try many different things.. the burgers are thin and great.. with a special sauce.. the fries are fun and different (try them chili cheese style) and dang it, give me a burrito (AND MAKE IT MACHO!). The chicken taco rocks..The house "ranch" is some sort of fun white sour cream type thing that comes on the chicken taco.. good stuff! One of the first places to do "Fajita's" mainstream. This place is a classic.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
