One of the best breakfast places in Florence! Great home cooked meals at a very reasonable price. I had the Greek Omelette with the amazing biscuit upgrade (best $$ upgrade ever!) and she had the # 2 meal with fruit instead of toast. Food was great and the service was friendly. We will be back whenever we are down in this area again!

This was a really disappointing breakfast. Both the breakfast sandwich and veggie omelette were greasy beyond belief. The rye toast came out dripping with butter. Positives: the hash browns were very crispy and the coffee was good Everything else: $12 for an omelette, $10 for a breakfast sandwich was wayyyy too pricey for what this is. Really wish we would have tried the organic restaurant down the street.

Had fish and chips, pretty good food. Also tried their clan chowder, tastes like they add sour cream in it. Really enjoyed the seating in the sun outside.

First off, there were flies all over the place, which is not common in late September. Telltale sign of something gross going on in the kitchen. Second, messed up our order. Third, the food was pretty gross, my wife got potato pancakes, I got lemon ricotta pancakes. Thumbs down to both and we both feel kind of queasy from the breakfast. Lastly, overpriced. Avoid for your own good.

If you are looking for a nicely done meal while in the area, this one is a safe bet. And ... YUP ... good burgers. Were were headed south on our coast tour and noticed this establishment's reviews on Yelp. Many people have commented on the burgers as being the best in the area. They are definitely good! Good size, nicely prepared and a good value. Lots of options for the entire family.

Hands down the best omelet I've ever had, cream cheese in the middle was a delicious touch! Hash browns were perfect, not too oily... gravy on top was was deliciously homemade. Coffee was also good! Line was literally out the door (Sunday morning) and we still were seated timely. A must check out if you are visiting Florence like we were.

The best breakfast we EVERY had... Shrimp and Grits OUTSTANDING. Chicken fried steak homemade...

Wow! I was so impressed by the food here! Was traveling through and we decided to stop for breakfast, and we are so glad we did! This place does HOMEMADE right. I had a lemon ricotta pancake and the ricotta was made in house! Who does that! It was so fresh and flavorful. This place was small, but clean, friendly service, and not to spendy! We got a great breakfast that hit all the marks! Will definitely be back.

This is/has been my favorite place to go for bfast, in Florence. Well..... now they offer dinner, too. :) So I said the breakfasts are good, and they surely are. And I've had more than a few good mornings here. But this was my first dinner (and only their sixth day of offering dinner) here at the hen. I think they've got to work out a few kinks, but the meal itself was delicious--and those I saw being served around me looked quite good as well. One that I'll be trying next time is the tri-tip with acorn squash. The "kinks", as I saw them this trip: The server was quite relaxed about refilling my drink. I asked for the sweetened iced tea. I then asked if it was a bottomless drink, to which she replied "as much as you want". I told her that I'd be tossing 'em back like crazy... because I love me some sweet tea. The place wasn't very busy at all, and I counted her passing my cup (empty and slid to the edge) each time she walked by... a total of three times, without notice. The food did take quite awhile to go from menu to table. I'd guess it was 40 mins, since the table next to me grumbled about how they'd been wiring 45 mins... and were walking out as their food finally arrived. They did stop short of leaving so that they could eat their food. I even heard a few words of praise about it, amidst all the grumbling. So maybe that's saying something about the food. My take = they're trying their hand at the dinner niche, a southern style cuisine at that, and there are a few bugs to work out. The server was quite friendly, witty, and overall enjoyable. She even offered me free carrot cake. She mentioned that their cook is a gentleman that was previously at the bayfront (if my memory serves me correctly). I don't know if that lends any credit to the place. But the food itself, despite the wait, was/always is pretty solid. My hope is that they get a good groove going with their dinner venture, and that they are around for many years to come. It's definitely a favorite stop of mine. I rather enjoy these little places with charm and good eats. With a bit of patience and a relaxed attitude, you may just enjoy your dinner as much as I did... despite the things I chose to whimper about. It may have just been "one of those nights". I'm looking forward to returning for the chicken pot pie!

This is not a review of the food. We came on a Sunday, and they sat us at a table with a speaker broadcasting a program about Jesus and blood. There were speakers next to the other tables as well. I was appalled that a restaurant would try to force-feed its patrons religion in this way. We told the staff this and left.

Cute little place with great service. The chicken and waffles was fantastic. My Clam Chowder had a bad sour taste and chewy clams. Must have been a bad day for chowder. All of the other food on the tables looked great with large portions.

Off to a bad start: the glass of water had little chunks of material floating around in it. The waiter said, "Huh, I just cleaned those things this morning." She brought me another glass of water without the extra material. I tasted terrible, as if a charcoal water filter had too many gallons of water run through it to the point that it starts breaking down and releasing all the stuff previously filtered out of the water back into the water. Note that the tap water in Florence is very good. I drink the tap water at the Landmark Inn across the street. There is no need to treat the water. There is especially no need to mistreat the water. Then my Eggs Hentastik with Smoked Salmon arrived. The hash browns were very good. The poached eggs and Hollindase looked good. Then I cut into an egg and egg white (clear raw egg "white" in this case) ran out. I really prefer my egg whites to at least be cooked enough to be white. I ate around the raw egg white. Except for the undercooking, the dish was very good. But for a $14 dish, I would expect it to be properly cooked, at the minimum.

This place is just wonderful, simply put. The food is creative while still giving you the comforts of some familiarity. The staff is friendly, efficient and personable. They are the only place in town to not only serve chicken and waffles, but they also do them right! And if you're a fan of a good Monte Cristo sandwich, this is the place to go. These are just a couple of examples of the delicious fare that awaits you at The Little Brown Hen Cafe. I know this may sound like I'm a paid spokesperson for them. Or that I have some sort of personal interest invested in them. Not true. I'm just a fan of great food. And I'm so glad this restaurant is here in Florence.

Wonderful little place when you get out of the traffic on 101. We all had breakfast, and it was terrific. The homemade biscuits are huge-even my 13 yr old who can eat to no end could not finish the biscuits and gravy. Had a scramble with ham, scallions and cream cheese-never had cream cheese in eggs before and it is awesome. The hash browns were perfect, and our 9 yr old kept saying how good the bacon was. Great find!

Whenever I eat here, I feel like I'm sitting in my mom's kichen. Everything is made fresh in the back, the service is good, and atmosphere is cozy. It is the perfect place to get a hardy brunch before spending a day on the windy oregon coast.

Great experience all around. The facility is clean and well-kept. Tables and booths available, and bathrooms are separated from dining area which is important to me. Many menu choices! We ordered a breakfast staple: pancake, egg and bacon. It was good and definitely a full meal. Also ordered brown hen scramble with a biscuit on the side. The biscuit was HUGE! Will definitely eat here again.

  • Julia B.

Slow service, lukewarm breakfast. Ordered eggs hard and they arrived over easy. Sticky buns left out uncovered for people to breathe on and flies to visit. But hot coffee and homemade jam, so they get 2 stars.

  • Bethany G.

Cute little spot. Elyse is sweet. We had the cheese and veggie stuffed hash browns. Amaze! They are the perfectly buttery crispy kind. Other than that we kept it simple with sourdough toast and eggs and tea. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Quaint, great service, delicious food. My partner and I shared two of the specials: chicken and biscuit, bacon Mac and cheese. Best Mac and cheese I've ever had! The consistency and taste of the sauce was SUPERB. My partner has been a chef in Portland the last 10 years and admits that it is one of her favorites! Thanks Little Brown Hen! We'll be back!

These guys seem to have defied the laws of time and space! From outside, it looks like a tiny place. But you walk inside and it's a spacious, clean, tastefully decorated cafe. Weird. Anyhow, we stopped in for a late lunch early dinner (linner, per Seinfeld) just head of their 2pm closing time on a Saturday. My wife had a basic breakfast, which was basically nice. I had the Taco Omelet which was awesome. To reference a mere taco when describing this combination of chili, grilled peppers ad onions, and queso blanco just doesn't do it justice. The prices are a bit steep, but i admit we're not used to tourist trade prices being from Coos Bay/North Bend. Whoever categorized this place on Yelp* as a one-dollar-sign place didn't understand the categories. Plus they ding you for another 50 cents if you want to pay with plastic. The three-figure photo prints for sale on the walls are a bit ridiculous. And they brought us both toast that was borderline burnt. Otherwise, it's as close to 5 stars as you can get, without getting the actual cigar.

  • Harold S.

Warning!!! The map on yelp is wrong, but the address is correct. Our breakfast was Great. Specialty jam for your toast, and Portland ketch for the hashbrowns. Service wasn't with a smile, but they kept the coffee full. I would eat there again.

A little pricey for breakfast food, delicious non the less!!! I wish the restrooms cleaner, that's the only reason why I didn't give 4 stars!

  • Randolph M.

I felt I should add a star back in for two reasons. I was sent a message of apology with hopes I would try it again. But more impressive was The Hen went back to the order slips from that day, found the one that corolated with my review, and credited back my charge card for the full amount! I consider that above and beyond, and will give them another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original review: I was surprised after all the good reviews to find this restaurant not very good. My eggs ordered over medium came out over very hard. My hash browns ordered crispy came out under done. The chicken fried steak was overly breaded, and tough. Julie's BLT was a sad thing, thin sandwich with limp bacon. Slow service, on the expensive side, and not very friendly. Waitress never asked how our food was. She wiped the table as we arrived, and left it wet. I had to ask for her to wipe it dry. I've never spent $12.95 on a breakfast, and get only one piece of toast. The restaurant may be a wonderful place to eat, but this was my experience on this particular day. Your mileage may vary.

Decent food. Service was spotty. Ordered a soup and diet coke. Never got the diet coke. Waitress didn't bring my husbands full order until prompted. Best thing was local jams and jellies for the toast.

The Brown Hen always delivers a great meal! We live in Elmira,Or and will drive the almost hour to get there for a special breakfast before a walk on the beach. Sunday morning seem to be a little busier than the rest of the week but always worth the wait.

We stopped here on our way through Florence. The service was fantastic and the crab melt sandwich I ordered was to die for. However, the cup of clam chowder I ordered to go with it was lacking. It was lacking potatoes and clams. However, we would definitely return but just not order the chowder.

What a great spot for breakfast, all the way until closing at 2:00 PM. Can't get much better than that. Food was delicious and very substantial portions! Service good, steady refill of coffee and pleasant environment. We will definitely be back when in Florence!

Very friendly service, fairly priced. The crab omelet was excellent and the coffee, though not gourmet, was moderately strong and flavorful. Beware the biscuits, they are enormous.

Absolutely Egg-cellent! We were looking for our favorite restaurant in Florence that we used to visit every time we were in town, The Blue Hen, but found out it had been closed a while back. However just south another 1/2 mile down 101 we spotted a new sign for The Little Brown Hen Cafe and knew there must have been a connection. Low and behold, the owner used to work at the Blue Hen and because of an ownership change that ran the Blue Hen into the ground, she kept darn near the whole original menu, including those giant biscuits covered with the most scrumptious sausage gravy. Portion control is not being considered here... far as I can tell. Breakfast will fill you up for the day! (maybe more?) Service was impecable and the interior was warm and charming with a real friendly vibe. The prices are comparable to national chains but without subjecting yourself to the seriously lacking authentic home made quality ingredients of those national places. Everything seemed made from scratch, like a real farmhouse grandma's kitchen. Coffee was good too (important to a Northwestern coffee-holic) Thumbs up - with gravy on top!

LBH is nice inside, pretty basic with some nice photos of coastal areas. Service was ok, they forgot to give us menus but we didn't wait too long and coffee was refilled regularly. Food was great.

We usually love this place--the breakfast is fantastic and they serve several varieties of french toast that are just out of this world. The wait staff is always efficient and friendly. However, I recently discovered that breakfast might be their strong suit. For the first time, I ordered a burger and was gravely disappointed. The quality of beef they used tasted (and looked like) it was full of fillers like you would find in meatloaf. I won't give up on this place (yet) but I think I will stick with the breakfast menu items. (Maybe they just need to order their beef from a different distributor? I am not sure, but it was the worst I've ever had).

Yelped saved our butts a number of times on this trip (we literally pulled out of parking lots if I pulled up a bad review) but with one good review I was willing to give Little Brown Hen a try (plus it was right across the street from our motel). It was all I could do not order a double plate of big ole biscuits and cinnamon rolls, but I behaved and just had scrambled eggs with toast (and a couple bites of yummy homemade hash browns). Chris had the steak and eggs, and though his steak was slightly undercooked it was nothing to make a big deal over. Coffee was good - diner coffee - nothing mind blowing like Vivace or anything but it was our third cup of the morning so we weren't exactly needing high octane. A solid breakfast option and well-priced. An all-around good way to start the day.

Hearty and delicious breakfast here. I ordered the brown hen scramble (mushrooms, tomatoes, meat, covered with cheese) and 2 pancakes. I couldn't finish the breakfast because it was just too much.

Stopped in for a hearty breakfast/lunch after several days of camping and outdoorsy related activity, and I could not have been happier. The hash browns were seasoned, fried up so that the outside had those delicious crispy bits, and tasted like they were made from real potatoes (not those stringy frozen bits some places like to pass off as potatoes.) All sorts of delicious omelets to choose from. And the portions. Wow. It took about 9 more hours of outdoorsy-ness before I was ready to eat again.

If you like food poisening and or salmonella then this is the place for you. I stopped by because I heard this place was great and served the same chicken as the blue hen, a wonderful place from when I was younger. I ordered the a 2 piece chicken with onion rings. When the food came out, after a 30 minute waite the waitress said the cook wasn't sure if it was done and if not then they'd get another piece. Upon cutting open the chicken it was bloody and raw. I paid for the pepsi I drank while I waited and informed the waitress who was very sweet and offered to have another meal cooked that I wasn't interested in eating anything prepared by a cook who would send a piece of chicken out like that. Although florence has a wondrerful hospital its not worth going there.......yuck!

Tasty breakfast. My husband and I are always looking for a good, clean, breakfast restaurant for when we venture to the coast. While the outside looks like an older building, the inside was definitely remodeled, with new paint, decor, and chairs (mostly new), and gorgeous custom stained glass windows on the side. And more spacious than you think. 6 of us ate there and didn't have to wait for a table on a busy Sunday morning. Waitress was helpful, gentleman came to refill water a couple of times through the meal. I had the Country Fried Steak and 2 eggs, and they were tasty. I think the gravy needed a bit more salt, but that is an easy fix. Son had a scramble, that included cream cheese. Cream cheese is tasty on EVERYTHING! The special was the Corned Beef Hash with eggs, and compared to the other dishes, the serving seemed a bit small. The biscuit was HUGE, and warm, and tender moist, not like most biscuits that others serve. I hate dry biscuits! We will definitely come here again. It's 1/3 of a mile from the intersection of Hwy 101 and 126 on the right by the way.

This was great! Food was perfectly cooked and served. Waitress friendly and we were introduced to the owner. The decor was very nice. Not pricey either. We will be back next time in Florence. Coffee was excellent and I got the last cup in a to go cup. Wow! Scone French toast is a must....delicious! A two thumbs up..

It was fine. Cute stained glass windows, the bathrooms are clean and the service was fine except I never managed to get a glass of water (I ordered OJ). My omelet was tasty but the hash browns were bland and the loaf of sliced bread toast was served with little packets of smuckers grape jelly and apple butter. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich which he said was fine. We also tried the rice pudding which I thought was completely forgettable. It had separated and was not the creamy warm bowl of pudding I was hoping for. This place is maybe a step above a chain breakfast place. Do not order the lemonade - it's not homemade and way too sweet. The strangest part of our meal was the fact that there was a little dog in a pink coat wandering around the restaurant?!

My wife and I were looking for a place to eat breakfast that opened early, and the Little Brown Hen Cafe fit the bill (7am) so we thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. The menu was large with plenty of options, but was almost overwhelming as it was hard to decide what to get. I had the best omelette I've ever had, and my wife's pancakes were delicious. The hash browns, which can be easily overlooked, were also very good: thick potatoes, which you could tell were not frozen or from a box. Along with pancakes, my wife got the steak and eggs. While the steak was a little over done (she asked for medium rare and got medium), it was still a good steak. The service was good and out waitress was very nice. She even offered our young son a toy dinosaur to play with. The only downside to the service was we were not offered water and were not read the special, while other patrons were. Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing as the special sounded good. It was a very charming little restaurant and they took they really ran with the hen theme, which made it all the more folksy. We would definitely go back.

We ordered the Hen's Egg Sandwich and the Original Rooster Scramble today, and both were excellent. Hashbrowns were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Homemade strawberry and blackberry jams were also very good. Service was prompt and courteous.

First time here while traveling through Florence. We asked for a coffee. It came however with no spoons. I don't remember how many times we had to ask for the spoons. The wait for food was ridiculous. Two other tables near us were also complaining out loud. When the food finally came my chicken fried steak was overly cooked. I could go on however it is a mute point. We will never return.

Inside they have a few signs that state "Be kinder than necessary" and "Never lose the chance to say a nice word". I'm being kind here when I say I really wanted to like this place but was flat out disappointed. I'm really hoping this was just an off day, although it would have to be for EVERY employee. First, NEVER have a young teenager as host/server who makes it obvious he'd rather be anywhere else with his attitude. We weren't acknowledged, along with a few other folks (all just hanging out by the front door and crowding in), for more than 10 minutes - not even a quick "I'll be right with you" as you pass us MULTIPLE times. (This is such a stark contrast to the service we received at Homegrown Public House the previous evening - we were acknowledged by host, manager, server alike to make sure we had been seen and if they could offer a drink while we waited for a table). When he finally came around he showed us to our seats by slapping the table and walking away. Um, ok? When he returns with the menus that he practically throws on the table, he takes our order for coffee and returns to give them the same treatment. Throw down, walk away. Guess I should have told him I wanted cream when ordering because he never returned, we had to flag someone else down. We had a separate waitress for ordering our meal who was better, but not by much. All interaction was basic until she grabbed our card without saying a word, said nothing more to us when she returned. Throw down, walk away. We both ordered the Veggie Omelet and my fiancé tried their biscuit. Everything looked nice, but as another reviewer mentioned, the food had NO FLAVOR or SEASONING. I love salt so I'm still going to put it on my food, but when my fiancé reaches for the salt, I know it's bad and not just me. Hash browns, same. Biscuit, for the extra 75 cents to substitute for regular bread, forget it. It's a basic flour biscuit with the only flavor provided by the honey you're going to have to drench it in. For the price of our meal, no bueno. A basic breakfast that was almost $30 for two people, subpar service, and no flavor, no thank you!

Sorry to say - didn't get to eat. Ten minutes after being seated we were still waiting to have our order taken. This while the waitresses refilled coffee cups. It felt like we had interrupted a group of locals - even though we are ourselves.

This must be the worst place to eat in Florence. The staff was rude. The burgers were soggy and falling apart. The meals we ordered didn't have the sides that came with them...either of them, yet the cost was the same. The staff was rude when trying to relay we were unhappy with the quality of the food and only half the meals came. We left hungry and agitated. I wouldn't recommend this an place to anyone. Not even someone I didn't like.

This was a really cute little place that we stopped at for breakfast on our way out of town. It was well decorated and had a nice ambiance. The server was friendly and the place was clean. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy and loved the biscuit part. The gravy has an odd seasoning or herb that threw it off a little. It was a nice big fluffy homemade biscuit and the bite I had of it was quite delicious. I had the #2. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the toast was hot when it came out (which is my biggest pet peeve at breakfast, cold toast!!) but there was only one piece, and at $10 I think 2 pieces would be in order. The hash brown were ok, lacked any sort it seasoning and the portion was quite small. My biggest problem was the DOG that was running around the kitchen and came out to our table twice. Now, I'm not an animal hater by any means, but the most appropriate place for what appeared to be the restaurant owners dog is at home, not running through the kitchen and up to people's tables. Completely inappropriate in my opinion. So long as the dog stays in the kennel, I may try it again!

Very affordable breakfast and a great place on the coast if you are looking for a quality brunch place. I loved the cocka-doodle-doo omelette that had a little bit of everything. Their cinnamon french toast was also very delicious. If you like orange juice, you must get a cup of their fresh squeezed orange juice! It is truly divine! The portions of everything was very generous and I was not even hungry until dinner time! I also love the clean and fresh decor. Local photos were for sale on the walls and there was a tasteful sea theme to the stained glass windows. There were also some great inspirational quotes scattered around the restaurant! This place certainly takes pride in their food and wanted to make sure that we had a great experience when we dined here. In addition to great service, the owner (or maybe manager) was walking around to each table to check in with all the customers to make sure that everything was perfect! I will be back next time I am on the coast in this area!

Terrible. Do not go. Drinks are overly expensive with only one free refill on soda!!! Second, the drink mix is off and they insisted it was normal. Third they brought my order which wasn't as advertised and my friend got a breakfast sandwich and the sausage patty was so big it collected all the grease and was inedible. Service was very slow and it took us over an hour for the four of us to get in and out. They advertise high quality jams but only give you Smucker packets with your meal. Terrible!! Had the tri-tip breakfast special. Fantastic. New year's day. They had several large parties before us so the food was delayed. We weren't complaining, but they gave us half off anyway. Great food, nice folks.

Great little breakfast spot. Nice clean coastal decor. We didn't wait at all for a table but we ate a late breakfast so we may have missed the rush. Some have commented about the service not being up to speed but we didn't experience that. It wasn't 5 star service but more than adequate. The food was really good, I had the biscuits and gravy which were amazing although I could of used a little more gravy on the plate but that's more of a personal preference. They also cooked my bacon exactly how I asked for it which can be hard to find in restaurants sometimes. Overall great experience and would definitely go back.

Cute little cafe, welcoming and attentive service. Food was delicious and plentiful. Yummy yum yum hash browns... Butter? Worth the drive down from Yachats, we left "fat, dumb and happy", our highest compliment! ;-)

Service was slow and unfriendly. Cheese was half melted in my omelet and the vegies cold. They were out of mushrooms for the mushroom and cheese omelet and it was only 9am. Toast had such a huge amount of unmelted butter that I scraped it off with my knife. Not planning on going back.

I do not know if I was in on a off day? Pros: Tasty dishes, large portions and at a far price and even more so for being on the coast and friendly staff. Cons: Well I just said the staff was friendly, and yes they were. But I think they may be understaffed. It took over a half-hour to get are orders on a two top, and when we did get our order we did not get the whole order. I was missing my hash browns on a order of 1/2 & 1/2. Also my mothers toast did not come and when we asked we did get it in till she was finished. I saw this happen on several tables. When I was given my bill I was able to see that the ticket read right on what we ordered. So this first comes down to the cook, and then the waitstaff for taken a incomplete order to the table.

The best Denver omelette ever. Tons of fillings and egg was super fluffy. I'm on the road 250 days a year and wish I could find more places like this.

Ok....we have been to this cafe 3 times now. Each time the food has been consistently good. The service has been consistently good. The establishment is very clean. The bathrooms are consistently clean and nicely decorated. My partner has ordered various omelets on each visit: Denver, Greek and Guacamole and I have ordered eggs, toast, bacon or sausage on two occasions and tried the 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. Eggs were cooked as ordered and were good. I believe the bread for toast is locally made (tasty) and the biscuits are very nice...light and airy. The gravy was ok. It didn't have a terribly memorable flavor, but it wasn't bad I've had some amazing gravies so I'm picky. I would order the biscuit again w/ an egg. The hash-browns are soo good. They are amazingly light and fluffy shreds of potato w/ crispy outsides and no hint of oil or grease on them. I really love their hash-browns! The coffee is good and they don't use fake creamers and do provide raw sugar on the table. The salt and pepper shakers are grinders. I love that nice touch. I do wish they would use locally made organic jams/jellies instead of smuckers packets (high fructose corn syrup). The price is good for the quality. We will keep returning. There aren't many good breakfast places in Florence, but Little Brown Hen is a good spot.

Amazing rice pudding to start breakfast...sorry no photos this review as I actually finished my breakfast and helped three others finish theirs. The bacon is amazing, the bread seemed home made. I sampled French toast, raisin toast, eggs, English muffin, waffle, hash browns, egg beaters, watermelon...and four cups of coffee! Sean vs. food!!!

Service was okay. It's hard to see other tables get their food before you when you know they ordered after you! Granted a friend at our table almost ordered the whole menu.... The food was pretty good except my sausage patty was a bit undercooked and I'm still searching for a decent biscuit to go with my sausage and gravy! I don't understand the love of the squishy doughy biscuit that sticks to the roof of your mouth when you try to eat it! I want mine flakey and toasty on the outside and tender on the inside! That's kind of personal with me though. The prices were decent and overall it was a good experience. I would definitely go again, but this time try something different and not go with someone who felt they needed to test the kitchen on how much they remembered to cook off the menu without looking at a recipe.

The "egg cheap cheep" is quite the breakfast sandwich! We had ours on a gigantic biscuit and added avocado ...very tasty, 4.5 stars out of 5. The Belgian waffle hit the spot as well (4 stars). The only downside to our breakfast was the coffee, which was just *barely* better than vending machine coffee and wasn't even very hot (2.5 stars). Go here for breakfast, you'll really enjoy the food ... just get your coffee from somewhere else, anywhere else (like the nearby Sentient Coffee shop).

Good food, but had to wait 50 min to get our orders the last two times we've been. They need to expand their kitchen and hire more cooks, or limit their seating. Many tables around us were waiting for over 40 min for food.

This place was a pleasant surprise when we were hurriedly looking for a place to eat before a ride on the sand dunes without doing any research. I believe they closed at 2:30 or 3 pm the day we were there, and it was only 15 minutes or so before that time, but they welcomed us in without hurrying us and we were there a little after the closing time. The staff was very friendly. I had a BLT with avocado, it was pretty good.

eh...this place could be 5 stars............IF...they didn't serve such small quantities....and IF their prices matched what you got.....and IF they refilled any beverages......and IF waitstaff seemed to care. BUT it's still 3 stars nevertheless. good quality food. the place is indeed "little" -- maybe 12 tables inside?!? we arrived Sunday morning at 930am, with it only 1/2 full, but by the time we left, there was a wait to get in. nice breakfast menu. we ordered an omelette (very SMALL), loaded hash (veggie and cheese), and a side of bacon. everything was small portioned. my loaded hash was just grilled tomatoes and mushrooms on a bed of above average hash browns. located just off hwy 101 in south florence. we'll probably never go back, with so many options in town.

Great service and the crab omelet was good. I did expect better quality coffee and toast. Not that they were bad, but could have more memorable.

I had the breakfast sandwich and it was wonderful. The bun was homemade and the sausage patty was patted out instead of preformed. Loved the Chirps were also very good. We were pleasantly surprised with our food. Wouldn't hesitate to go again when in the area!!

Drove from Eugene to check this place out. We enjoyed the French toast, rice pudding, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. The French toast was great but I really enjoyed the rice pudding. Waitress was very pleasant and the food was served quickly. Hope to return as there were many other tempting menu items.

I will gladly pay $3.00 for two huge slices of homemade date and walnut bread turned into french toast and served with warmed maple syrup. Cheaper than the muffin I bought at a coffee shop down the street and way tastier. And they have a VEGAN OPTION! Holy moly. That's pretty exciting. We ate on the patio with our doggies and they brought them water bowls.

This is a 3.5 review. I had the 1/2 order biscuits and gravy with hash-browns. Very good and just enough. (4 stars) My wife had the brown rice pudding (1 star). We really like rice pudding, however not this one. The nutmeg was over powering. It's pretty much all that she could taste. My recommendation would be cut back and offer the customer the spice to add as they wish.

After a cold night camping at Port of Siuslaw, this was the best way to start the day. Great food. Huge portions. 4 of us had scrambled eggs and omlettes, while Namrata and Chetan who are really picky about their vegetarian food also enjoyed the thin pancakes and hash browns.

Great place to eat. We went here this weekend on a guys trip to the coast. The food was great and the portions were huge. If you have a sweet tooth, try the cinnamon roll, its almost the size of a loaf of bread.

We stopped for a late lunch on our way through town. Unfortunately, they were out of what they call "Chirps". It seems that this item would be more like a Jo Jo type potato. I would have liked to try them. Anyway, my Patty Melt was decent and the wife's Chicken strips were ok. The burger was lacking some seasoning and the onions were very bland. My wife had to ask for a side of Ranch to dip her chicken in. In my opinion, that should be standard issue with Chicken strips. Our waitress seemed a little distracted by her friends around the corner from us, so that could have been better. And if you are restaurant staff, shouldn't you be aware of trash on the floor and pick it up on your first pass. She waited until her sixth pass to deal with it. Not very professional in my humble opinion. Not too bad but I wouldn't rate it near as high as other Yelpers have.

We had dinner here on only the second night since they started serving dinner. Food is southern style, and excellent. Prices are good and portions are huge. Staff is friendly and attentive. We liked it so much we came back the next day for breakfast!

Very good food. Good variety of choices. Very friendly, and excellent service. Of all the restaurants I've been to across the country, their veggie & mushroom omlette is my favorite. Not fancy, just great food!

Service is great and friendly. Eggs Benedict with ham was very good. Hash browns were much tastier than they looked. We ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy and couldn't finish it, but it was really tasty.

I'm on a road trip up the coast with some friends and stopped here our first morning in Florence. We received an incredibly warm welcome and outstanding service! Great pancakes and even better French toast! They use wildly fresh ingredients. My over-easy eggs were probably the best eggs I've ever had outside of the ones I raised myself. Love. This. Spot. If I lived in Florence this would be a weekly stop for me.

We had an excellent breakfast at The Little Brown Hen in Florence Oregon. They were out of their usual Stollen for French toast but they had a very good apple bread to offer as a substitute. The service was good. Atmosphere homey, it was clean and the food was tasty. The coffee was also very good!

It is a rare occasion when you are eating out, and the food is so superb that you have to double check where you are, because it sure doesn't look like your kitchen table! The brown hen has just opened for dinner and we decided to give it a shot and we were so impressed! The food was fresh, flavorful and made from scratch! We ordered the chicken pot pie and fried chicken and it tasted like grandmas. Big portions and reasonable prices. The chef even came out and asked how our meal was. Will definitely be going back!

The food was ok but the service was almost nonexistent not just for my party but for everyone it took ages to be seated we will not be going back
