Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. This place just happened to be close to all the motels in town, so it was a nice walk there. The restaurant smells great because of the fresh bread they bake. We had the calzones which were quite tasty, however they were monstrous in size. Unless you have a huge appetite when you get there, plan on taking some home. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I'd go again.

A majority of our weekend breakfasts or lunches are at this place. They have a really nice menu with a lot of selections to cater to different tastes. My favorite lunch item to get is the house roasted turkey sandwich. the turkey is delicious and they have a carrot slaw that is just awesome on the sandwich. My spouse love's the calzone and I must admit, having sneaked a few bites off of his order they are pretty darn great. The house salad is very generous portion size and it comes with bread. If you order the salad get their house made dressing it is really fantastic. Service wise, yes they can be a bit slow at times but everyone there is nice. Oh, one more thing, they sell baked goods (new day bakery) and those are super as well.

We had tempeh burgers that were very meager. The tempeh was cut very thin and a very poor value. The bread was nothing special for a bakery and the sandwich came dry with no sauce of any kind. The ketchup bottle we were given was just about empty. The potatoes were poorly mixed up and so the cumin seasoning wasn't distributed amongst the potatoes. --had it been cheaper we wouldn't have applied such stern criticism. The decor is attractive and the entrance is really cool for ordering because the menu is written on a huge wall. I like the setup, but food was poorly executed in our case.

Over priced and bland. I got the grilled tempeh sandwich. I love tempeh but this sandwich was incredibly bland and dry. I won't be visiting again.

The good on World Cafe: --The bread for their sandwiches is very good --The tempeh burger is nice --Large menu with great variety --Soup is decent --Not overpriced The not-so-good --Most of the food is kinda bland --Warehouse-like atmosphere isn't very good --You wait forever and a day after you order your food. Doesn't matter if it is crowded or not. World Cafe is truly one of the slowest meals ever. For some reason, this is a place I am drawn to when I have a cold (the soup helps with that) or feel like I need to eat something healthy but don't have the energy to make it myself. I'm always a little more depressed after eating here. I wouldn't NOT recommend World Cafe (hence the 3 stars) but if you go, prepare to wait for a long time in a less-than-ideal environment.

We were on the road, headed to Bend from the coast and tried to get in a lunch at Papa's but they were closed so the staff recommended World Cafe. We were so glad they did because we were having a road food emergency. I'm also glad they recommended a hippie food place in Eugene. When in Rome...! I had a smashing tempeh sandwich that was the likes of which. They offer pasta with a ton of topping selections. And the iced tea really hit the spot. We were there on a triple digit day. It was amusing to talk to the amphibious, west-of-the-cascades folks about the dry heat.

This place has top notch food. Never a disappointment. I would say the house turkey sandwich is one of my favorite items on the menu.

I really like the pizza there but this place is so kick back you have to wait for a whole hour for a reheated piece of pizza pie. I may have been there on an extra kick back day? Just don't go if you are in a hurry or with someone in a hurry. Healthy and Hippie. This "cafe" is the epitome of being on "hippie time". world-cafe-eugene.com

I adore this place and the pizza/calzones that they make. There is a great variety of choices including artichoke hearts, pepperoni, etc. One calzone can easily feed 2 people. There is a great outdoor seating area and frequently musicians playing. I like the Klezmer band that plays on Sundays. They have beer and wine, so kick back with friends and enjoy some great pizza/calzones or any other item on the menu. Love the tempeh sandwiches too!!!

This place has a wide variety of foods, all reasonably priced and quite tasty. The problem is that it takes a looooooooooooooooooooong time for your food to arrive, regardless of what you order or how busy it is. The high ceilings give it a kind of empty feel, even when most of the tables are full and make it seem unwelcoming when it's empty. I used to frequent this place and sit with a sketchpad and draw, have a sandwich or soup and a coffee. It's been awhile since I spent much time here.

I have eaten here several times and I am never disappointed. I especially love their breakfast and pastries (cinnamon roll is the bomb!). I have eaten the Juevos Rancheros, soup and other breakfast dishes that are all delicious. The atmosphere is very laid back and Eugene like, which I love!
