Had a coupon for a free pizza and since I'd forgotten to call it in, I had to wait for it and since they were super busy, I was very impressed it took less than 15 minutes for my order! The girl at the counter was very friendly.

Half The Beaster and half Surprise. The pizza is pretty good, but the price is also pretty high. I don't think I'd eat here unless I have a coupon or if I'm helping a fundraiser just based on the price.

We came here for the kid. There is a big indoor play structure all fully padded. It smelled funky in there but the kids loved it. The pizzas are pathetic but the cheese sticks or the cinnamon sticks are actually freshly baked are really good. They'll try to push the buffet but I think a couple of slices ($1.25 each) is about anyone who has tasted a decent pizza before can stomach.

  • Bailey F.

My absolute favorite pizza in town!

Jerry Seinfeld joked, "Pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good." You instantly know what he's saying, which makes it a good joke. So when I give Papa's two stars, it's in the same spirit. My office brought in pizza from here because some people didn't like Mezza Luna's. I can't understand why someone would prefer this place. The crust is unremarkable and not flavorful. Toppings are routine. BBQ chicken pizza was marginally better than Track Town, which isn't saying much. The colder it got, the worse it got. Seinfeld's maxim prevents me from going lower than two stars.

Why is this terrible pizza so expensive? Why do you have to order in one line and then go into another line to get your beverage? Why do you order at a counter and pick it up yourself and still wait half an hour on an average (not packed) night with several employees on hand? Why do you call the mayo based tubs on display a salad bar? I'm a salad bar fanatic and this one is just sad. Almost everything from a plastic Kroger tub except for the bin of iceberg lettuce the likes of which I have not seen since living in the Midwest. This seems to be a popular place for kid parties. I'm giving them an extra star because I feel that my low opinion is based on my preferences rather than this restaurant. I am mostly just confused by this place. I would understand if eating here was super cheap and wasn't a chore, but they really make you work for your $25 pizza. I may go back if someone asks me just to try and figure it all out.

  • Kearney T.

Well I'd give it a 2 1/2 stars if I could. The cheese is good and stringy, the reason I'd give it a 2 1/2 is cause of a few things: the bathroom is small, cramped and looks liked it hasn't been clean in 2 days, the path to the kids area was narrow, and crowded with part people, so I was doding little kids and parents just hanging out and talking in the middle of the isle. The only reason I was there is because of a church function, otherwise I wouldn't have been there.

Was here for a Sheldon High School Lacrosse fund raiser. These people always do so much for the community. The pizza is great, the people are great and if you have small kids like we do this place is great because the kids can run around and be ok.

Staying in town on business and had a Dominos hotel key card. Really wanted to eat at the Mexican place but they were closing in just minutes. Ok... Taco pizza. Big D doesn't have one so took to the internets. It came down to two options... Papa's or Abby's. Studied the menus hard and realized Papa's puts beans on theirs. YUM. Called for delivery and I got Paula. This lady is a gem. I didn't know my address but she instantly knew the hotel. Very quick witted with the comebacks. Extremely knowledgeable about the products, and gave me many choices. Very funny and friendly. I'd really like to have a slice of .. i mean WITH her someday :) Anyway, definitely NOT your typical "your a pain in my ass and this job sucks" attitude you get from most delivery places these days. Great experience. Paula quoted me an hour and a half but got it in 30-40. Under promised and over delivered. Awesome. The food: Best taco pizza I've ever had. Perfect amount of beans and meat and fresh toppings. I really wish they had a shop closer to Portland. On my way out of town I found myself close to the aforementioned other taco pizza joint and thought I could replicate my experience. While still quite good and I have nothing bad to say about them, Papas just takes it to a whole higher level in service and flavor. Would have given a 5th star but for two things: 1: They just throw the taco sauce packets on top of the pizza instead of a separate bag like where they put the cheesy bread sauce. Doesn't really seem 100% safe. I mean how many hands have scooped through that box of sauces? 2. The cheesy bread leaves a lot to be desired. Pulled the first of 4 pieces out and the cheese from all the others came off with it. Will definitely be back!!

I grew up on this pizza and I definately have a soft spot in my heart for it. The pepperoni is my all time favorite and I love the crunch of the crust. Their pizza is never soggy which is a huge plus. Papa's is just one of the many things I look forward to when visiting Eugene

    (4)
  • Brittany S.

It's a friendly atmosphere. Great for parties. They hold a lot of fundraisers. But when it comes to pizza it would probably be #4 on my list. Still good pizza though...

I've been going to Papa's on and off for 40 years. Funny thing is I noticed my mom still uses a pitcher I lifted from this place back in the early 80's - think dumb high school prank. Anyway, always return when I'm in town. Excellent Taco Pizza, something I can't get here in AZ. Imagine that. It's gotten "kid friendly" over the past 25 years so expect to see young ones running around. Lunch buffet is a good deal but you need to be strategically located near the feeding station otherwise slim pickings by the time you waddle up there.

Expensive pizza parlor you go to with your kids or as a fundraiser of some sort. The pizza is forgettable if it didn't cost so much. Support your local whatever or take your kids out to the playland but don't come here for good pizza.

This place is filthy, at least a Chuck E. Cheese they clean the play area. So gross at Papa's. Stay away!!!

First time customer and it was terrible !! I showed up for a birthday party . It was terribly busy and people everywhere which was nothing wrong with that . This place looked like it could accommodate this volume of people . people seemed to be having a good time . I wanted to contribute to my party so I got in line to order a large pizza and a pitcher of soda . Line for ordering was long but it seemed to move along very slowly . I could see there was plenty of pizza order takers and cooks , about 10 including a nice dress guy who seemed to be the onsite manager . I ordered my pizza and pitcher . I was given a reciept and told to stand in another line ! Looked over and there was another long line . It was maned by a young guy and he seemed to be only one serving beer and soda . I wasn't happy to get in another line ! The people in this line looked like the forgotten ! ! I too joined and regretting I ordered soda . Line took forever !! I hoped my pizza would be done my the time I recieved my drink but nope ! Went sat down and was bombarded with " where you go and thought you left " . Everyone else had pizza for some odd reason but no drinks . I asked why no drinks but nobody wanted to take on beverage line . I sat down had soda and waited and waited .... and waited ! I went to check my pizza and was told 8 min more ( really !!!) . 20 min party ended and I had no pizza ! People were leaving and i was mad ! Went back told them I needed my pizza to go ! Few mins later i got my pizza in a box ! I was mad and asked to speak to a manager . I complained my experience and he had no apologies other than they were busy! I will never go back ! Plenty of help and no organization . This manger looked very clean ! A good manger should pulled up those sleeves and maybe be help alittle if he knew it was busy ! Shame ! Got home and was starving at this point . Pizza was bland no flavor !

Wonderful salad bar! I love to visit them for lunch. They always have a variety of fresh veggies and other toppings. The bar is always kept very clean too. I like to get a small salad to go and it's just under $4. Very fair price. :)

The TACO PIZZA is the best! Very casual dining experience. Ambience is outdated, but Papa's Pizza has been around for so long that it's part of it's existence. Their outdated number system is weird, but you expect it from Papa's Pizza!

This was the most expensive and worst pizza I have ever had in my life. My wife, her grandmother and I all had the same opinion. I was shocked when the delivery man told me it would be $30 but I figured if it's good pizza it might be worth it. Boy I was terribly wrong!!!!

This pizza was just awful. The employee on the phone was terribly rude . It took a hour and a half to arrive and was cold and just disgusting.. We were very disappointed as the desk clerk highly recommended it.. I would never go again. So sad

We came here with some friends to eat and let the kids play. It was insanely busy to say the least, yet the place is very open on the inside which didn't make you feel too cramped. The pizza was 2 stars....Nothing too special to be honest. The pepperoni is about the blandest, most plain ol' slice i have experienced. There was a few TV's hanging which allowed us to watch some college football...sweeeeet. The 3rd star is for the play area for the kids. It's really nothing too great, but the kids love it. My daughter played in the pit of balls for about 20 minutes and laughed her butt off. The boy played in the play structure with some other kids and they had a blast too. The prices here for a birthday beat the hell out of the other pizza places too. Food....2 stars.... Large area for kids to play and have a birthday...1 star VERY CLOSE to losing the 3rd star due to high prices for the pizza's...

This restaurant supports the local community through fund raisers and school events. That alone, beside the fact that they employ so many of our kids, makes it a valuable asset to our community. Its pizza, not a gourmet restaurant. Its loud-busy-and filled with kids....not my kind of place for a romantic evening...but thank God for small business owners.

I have been enjoying Papas Pizza for about 30 years! (anyone else remember the awesome organ that used to take up almost the entire west wall of the dining area?) While it may not be a gourmet pizza, they do an excellent job of making a good pizza and getting it to you as fast as they can. This place is ALWAYS swamped on evenings/weekends, and it's not because they're cheap. I have to strongly disagree with John E. about almost everything he said about Papas, but it's pretty easy to disregard anything said by somebody with no more respect for their child than to refer to them as a "Tax Deduction". I would give 5 stars if the pizza was cheaper.

    (4)
  • Doug D.

Good Pizza is not cheap. Cheap pizza's not good. Were does that leave Papa's ? Expensive and only OK. Delivery is the best in town. You get what you pay for.

  • Aryn R.

I've had better pizza at the truck stop. If papa's pizza was located in Ethiopia there would still be starving children in Ethiopia, it's that bad. I have been roped into going to Papa's multiple times for birthday party's and such and each time it gets more disgusting. A medium pepperoni piza should have more than 11 slices of pepperoni and just when I think i've figured it out and get a salad I discover the only thing fresh is the bacteria left behind by the dirty rag the wipe everything down with. It would definitaly be more tolerable if it wasn't expensive to boot. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.

This was so surreal. Picture this, after driving two and a half hours to Eugene from Vancouver (not BC, not DC) we arrived at Papa's Pizza Parlor for my four year old nephew's birthday party. It looked cheesy from the outside and I already knew this was a thinly vailed attempt at a Chuck E Cheese. The Wife was equally hesitant but the Tax Deduction was already bookin' it for the door! We walked in to an incredible amount of wasted space between the order desk and the seating, that was the first thing that hit me, "What an amazing amount of wasted space." Surely the line for this joint cannot be that long! We walked over to the party area and saw behind some windows a huge playspace for the kiddies. I looked down to see nothing but a vapor trail from the Tax Deduction for there was serious playing to do! I followed him through the door into the play area, which was impressively large, and was quickly chilled from the seeming sub-zero temprature in this room. I think in the evening it doubles as a refridgerator. Couple of times the Tax Deduction came back over to the party area to warm up, his hands were like ice. Soon the pizza arrived. Ok, maybe calling it pizza isn't fair to real pizza. Soon the pizza like substance arrived and it was a huge square with square pieces. Hey, Papa, pizzas are round, cornbread are square! We choked down a few pieces... didn't really matter which topping we picked, they all tasted the same. To save the day I went over to the counter and bought a salad bar for the Wife and I to share, it saved the day for us as we grazed on greens as square monstrosity after square monsterosity rolled out and was devoured by the mass of people there who obviously had their taste buds surgically removed some time ago. Here is the oddest thing of the whole visit to me. I took the Tax Deduction to the bathroom in this kid-prodominent atmosphere and the urinals on the wall were all so dang high even I had trouble. Needless to say I had to lift the Tax Deduction up for his business. Why not use the toilet? There was only one, and the door opened in! I'm a big guy, and that simply doesn't work for me having to straddle the toilet to close the door. There is more dignity in walking into the Gas Chamber than in walking in this stall. If the nephew had another birthday here I will definately come back... I have to, but at least I'll either eat beforehand or sneak food in from a burger joint.

Expensive pizza parlor you go to with your kids or as a fundraiser of some sort. The pizza is forgettable if it didn't cost so much. Support your local whatever or take your kids out to the playland but don't come here for good pizza.

About Papa Murphy

Papa Murphy is one of the top pizza chains in the United States. Papa Murphy was formed after the merger of two popular local pizzerias namely Papa Aldo's and Murphy's respectively. The trend of "take and bake" pizzerias gained popularity in the United States during the early 90s. The growing popularity these two take and bake pizzerias located in Hillsboro, Oregon and Petaluma, California respectively gave the idea of a possible merger to Terry Collins.

Customers can relish Papa Murphy pizzas by simply walking into the nearby Papa Murphy outlet or simply order online or call-in to pick up the order later.
