Healthy Meal suggestions for Ruby Tuesday

Ruby's is dependably good. The salad bar is always fresh, well stocked and clean. Servers are friendly, service is quick, atmosphere just fine. For a chain, it's decent.

2 words: Salad Bar. If only they still chopped the Red Onions instead of the awkward slices. Good quality food, decent staff though the restaurants temperature is usually a bit warm upon arrival, the delicious bar drinks and refreshing salad make up for it quickly.

Went there for dinner tonight, ordered the New York strip steak, it was a 1/4" thick like a breakfast steak and did not have any flavor. Ordered medium rare, came back almost well done because it was so thin. When I order a dinner steak expect it to be at least thicker than this one especially when paying $17. Wife ordered chicken tender salad and the salad was slimy and they did not charge for it. My daughter order a pretzel burger and asked for medium cooked, came back almost raw. We will not be eating there again, very disappointing especially for almost nearly $20 per person.

I haven't been to a Ruby Tuesday since I was a little, little kid. I remember it being something like what Applebee's is today, but focused on burgers. Well, they have tried to step up their game, but it's like the little scrawny kid at college putting on his Dad's suit...he just did it better being himself. We went here on a Friday night, before The Hunger Games, at around 5 PM. So I expected a crowd. That was fine, we got on a 20 minute waiting list. But the parking lot was -very- small for what their seating capacity appears to be. We had to park all the way down in front of another business at a separate strip mall area. It wasn't a huge hike, but it's just a very good location. The decor was top notch...tastefully upscale and I really did appreciate that. But it comes at a price. $10-20 entries rule the menu, which goes the Cheesecake Factory way of offering something of everything. My biggest gripe, though, was that when we went to get seated, we passed at least fifteen or twenty open tables. And waiters running around everywhere. Okay, maybe they need to hire more staff, or plan better for Friday and Saturday nights. Especially due to their proximity to a super new, super upscale movie theater (Cinetopia) that's playing a major new release that weekend. I was a little annoyed and I admit, the first thing I said when I sat down was, "I can't wait to Yelp about how there are a ton of open tables, and we waited for twenty five minutes with everyone else." Anyways, once we were seated, the waiter was quite prompt to help us, though his attention was somewhat sporadic throughout the rest of the night. I had a chicken and pasta, and my date had a cheeseburger. My friend had a rack of ribs and his girlfriend had some chicken tacos with lime sauce. I think all of us were underwhelmed. I ate half my pasta and chicken and took the rest home, but I didn't actually finish eating it. My date's burger came out wrong...she had ordered a mushroom burger with cheddar and got an american cheeseburger with bacon. They apologized and went to fix it, but came back with the mushrooms on it and nothing else changed. So she had the wrong cheese and added bacon, but she ate it. Didn't seem to care much one way or the other on how it was. I did notice she had a choice of two sides, not just one, and that was clever. My friend said his ribs were alright, but his girlfriend didn't like the tacos. She claimed they were too spicy, but she has no palate for anything with spice, so I was kind of surprised she got that order anyways. I would not take her opinion of the tacos too seriously. We paid over $100 for the food and it was alright. I did tell the waiter that we were trying to make a movie, so were hoping to get the check paid for as soon as the food came and all that, but he acknowledged my request, yet didn't own up to it. I had to request the bills when the food came, then we had to flag him down so he could pick up the cards, even though we were ready when the folders sat down, and then had to wait for them to come back. Maybe I'm just being particular because I didn't really enjoy my time there, but I was seriously underwhelmed for the cost of this place. I don't see any reason to go back here again, unless someone I'm with really loves the place. I'd be okay eating here again, just don't really see a point to it.

Food was typical. But they have an outstanding bar menu which, sadly, I wasn't able to partake in due to being in an all day class.

I never knew that this place has everything made ahead of time! We have been here a couple of times when we felt like salad AND food. Both times we went, we walked by the grill area and see the "cooks" unwrapping portions of pre-cooked chicken or fish to heat up. And the food tastes like it. The guy re-filling the salad bar when we were there last time was literally reaching across me to put more carrots in the bin. Seriously? There was no one behind me and you couldn't wait 10 seconds to add carrots? Service is usually decent. The blackberry lemonade was good. We may end up back here some day, but not soon.

The salad bar is the best salad bar anywhere! I shared the California flat bread and oh my goodness! It was spectacular! I will totally order it again!

What to do about Ruby Tuesday? They along with Red Robin and all of their ilk really had to do a very quick shuffle when the economy went foom. Ruby Tuesday had been in the process of making their restaurants more adult-like at the time anyway. They are trying for adult food, too, and serving everything up on those square and rectangle plates to look, um, chic or something. It's still a big question whether all of this is bringing in the right guest at the right ticket. We managed to spend $50 tonight on meals for two that were OK, but certainly not exceptional, vaguely tasty but calculated to look a little more than they were. SO had the steak and lobster deal with salad bar, I had the pasta marinara and trips to the salad bar. That brought my ticket to almost $14. The steak was tasty enough that he got, but it reminded us of something...it hit me first: Sizzler "back in the day"; ya know Sizzler used to be a cheap but satisfying steak about thirty years ago, and a treat to suburbanite Mom and Dad when they could splurge for a babysitter. So was the $5 steak back then equaled to a $12 steak now? Another shared Sizzler trick is these lobsters that they tempt you with for an extra $5 at Ruby Tuesday . It is a big, fat langostino, near as we could tell. Three or four bites from this one. This restaurant is really a very nice one, the service was spot on, both marked improvements from yester year, but then the expectations have changed in that period of time. What Ruby Tuesday seems to be trying to do here is create the fine, or at least entry-level fine dinner house experience and dinner, and if that is the goal, it really isn't there. I haven't seen one of the ten dollar coupons that Michelle C. mentions, but then this place is a hike from where we live and we probably will not see one of those in our mail box; grab 'em if you got 'em; it would make this a much better value. They do, we have found, put a real good hamburger together, their fries are quite good, and as mentioned, the salad bar is nice. The dressings that we tried tonight were not very good, but I remember with other visits liking them. A bad salad dressing night? I don't know. And I don't know about this joint. I do think that if you will sit tight spending what we did, you might as well go down the hill and get a much better meal at Hall Street Bistro.

I hadn't been to RT's in years. We were in the area and thought, "Wow...haven't been there in forever. Let's get dinner!" Apparently, they don't want to be a burger joint anymore. So here they are raising prices and adding seafood and new sides and Red Lobster biscuits. I mean the same. exact. recipe. Upon walking in, I expected the same old Ruby's. No, it was a Big Boy restaurant now. There are now steaks, lobster, pastas on the menu. They brought us 2 little tiny Red Lobster biscuits before our meals. They were tasty, but small. At least they're endless at Red Lobster. Alright, the boyfriend got a burger and fries. He refused to pretend RT's was anything but a burger joint. His burger came out and he said it was tasty. I tried a few of his bottomless french fries, and they were top-notch. I took a chance and ordered the "New Orleans Seafood" plate. It was cajun tilapia with shrimp on top and parmesan sauce. My sides were white cheddar mashed potatoes and bleu cheese coleslaw. I love cheese. I know cajun. It was okay. Cajun doesn't necessarily mean over-spiced, but it was - and I couldn't taste the parmesan sauce. At all. The mashed potatoes were decent, but it was hardly enough for one person. The bleu cheese coleslaw was DELICIOUS! Only because I've never had it and I would never think to make it. If you come here, you have to try it. Yes, we were next to a fireplace. Yes, we saw a little lake with a fountain from our table. Yes, the service was fantastic. Was the price worth it? No. I couldn't help but think that we buy awesome lime tortilla and parmesan crusted tilapia fillets at Fred Meyer and they're 2 for $3.20. My over-spiced tilapia was waaaay more than that. My sides were the size of my fist. My meal + drink was $20. The only time I think I'd go here is when I want steak and lobster for $15 on Tuesdays.

There food has gotten pricy and for the price doesn't fill you up. I really like it where it is located not a fan of the prices

This place was very crowded we thought the food was just okay. Lots of it with the salad bar that you can add to any entree but food didn't taste fresh and came out of the kitchen in an odd order. It also took awhile just to be greeted by the server.

The food is ok. The salad bar was fresh and clean and the decor feels nice, but everything just felt meh. I can cook this good at home. The problem was that the prices were quite high for this quality level.

Awful!!!! Been here in the past and never had any issues but tonight we ordered food for take out. I ordered the carolina chicken salad. The chicken was burnt and tasted like it was fried in dirty, old oil and the lettuce was wilted and tasted like it was a day old. Garbage!

Ruby Tuesday's is consistently a lovely place to eat. The salad bar is always well-stocked with lots of options and pre-made salads. The entrees are delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are super-friendly and good at what they do. The sort of place your mom would like.

I love this location the service Is excellent and the salad bar is great, food is good and prices fair. We love to eat here. Keep up the good work. We try to use the coupon and it keeps the cost down. But we find ourselves there with out one often. It's hard to find a restaurant with such great service this is the exception. Great people and managers actually see yo care, run food and check on customers.

I always wanted to go there and finally made it last month. Very nice location and good ambiance, very friendly and good service, only issue they didn't have many vegetarian options, the waitress/cook still nice to get something vegetarian version made for me from the Happy hour menu, which was confusing with different options on different days.

My daughter took my wife and I here for dinner because they have a nice patio and we weren't disappointed. The patio was fun and the people entertaining. Between the dippy lady at the next table that kept complaining about the ducks (lady if you don't like ducks you should eat inside not on a patio next to a large pond.) and the waitress that kept trying to chase the ducks off the patio we had lots of free entertainment. Sadly, the food didn't work out as well. We had two steaks in our party and both were ordered medium rare and both came out medium at best. I've eaten here a few times and I've never had the steak cooked correctly. Now I order my steaks rare and hope to get one that's medium rare. They have a limited salad bar but they seem to do a good job keeping the item fresh and the bowls full. My favorite salad is the fruit salad. Add a few grapes and some cranraisons and I could make a meal of the fruit salad. They use smirnoffs(sp) for the well vodka so even their cheap drinks are OK. I had a dirty vodka martini and it was excellently prepared. Probably one of the best I've had in PDX. Warning, your mileage may vary as proper martinis are very bartender dependent. Overall, it's a great place for a nice, but average, dinner on a warm summer evening. I'll be back at least one more time before they roll up the patio for the winter.

My girlfriend and I went here to order some to-go orders for a lazy friday night and at first were pretty shocked by the prices on the menu, $15 for a regular nothing-special burger, the sides were disgusting and maybe 3 bites each. She ordered the coconut shrimp which was around $10, opened the box and laughed, it was three very tiny shimp on a peice of slimy lettuce... not ever going back.

Three good things about this place. 1) the bartender during the day mon and tues is fantastic. I highly recommend stopping in for lunch and sitting at the bar, she's great!! 2) the burgers are actually really tasty. Made with quality meat. 3) the building is gorgeous

For a chain restaurant, I liked this place. Never been to a Ruby Tuesdays before, so I had no expectations. Maybe that helped. It was very cold outside last night and the inside of this place is warm and inviting. My daughter called it "rustic." Kind of large log cabin charm, complete with fire burning in the corner and comfy booths. The salad bar gets 5 stars. Great spread. Selection of about 6 types of lettuce/greenery, lots of veggies (all looked fresh), chopped ham, bacon, eggs, etc. for protein, and a few specialty salads like pasta, potato, etc. All you can eat. Next time I will just get that and some soup. My daughter had some creamy parmesan shrimp and pasta dish that was very tasty and a nice serving size. They did not skimp on the shrimp and they were cooked well (not rubbery). I got the hamburger sliders and endless fries with the salad bar. The fries were good. The sliders, I'd pass on. But for the overall experience (food, service, atmosphere), I was quite pleased.

3.5 Stars - it definitely beats Applebee's & Chili's. It was Saturday night, I was out in suburbia with the girlfriend and folks. We were hungry, this was the only restaurant around. My expectations were abysmal at best. We arrived, were seated quickly, and I opened the menu and saw this: Ruby Tuesday's Colossal Burger. I thought to myself, "yeah right." Oh how wrong I was. Please, look at the photo I posted above. That wasn't my colossal burger, but it looked exactly like it, if not bigger. Yes, it comes complete with a huge steak knife skewered through the middle. And you'll need it. Immediately my family began to place bets on whether I could finish the mondo stack. I couldn't. Then they placed bets on whether I could stuff at least 1/4 of it in my mouth at once. I think that would have gotten me kicked out out of the restaurant. The damn burger is too big to even hold between your hands! I felt like a complete idiot trying to eat it. The point is, the burger is huge, and you WILL be the center of attention (whether you want it or not) if you order it. As far as taste? Not too shabby, RT! Far better than local fast food joints, but nowhere near on par with a Kobe Blue Cheese burger from The Maiden. I ordered mine layered with crispy onion ring bits, a worthy addition. I found that removing the middle layer of bread, and creating a double cheeseburger stack made it easier to munch on. But you'll still look goofy. After I got home I did a quick Google search: Ruby Tuesday's Colossal Burger. Weighs in at around 1,940 calories and 141 grams of fat. That doesn't even include the fries on the side. Only 141 grams of fat? I think next time I'll order extra bacon and cheese. I don't want to look like a wimp.

Ruby Tuesday's is simple and easy. Their plates are simple and fairly well-priced, but I rarely come without the $10 off coupons they send in the mail, so that cuts the edge. I've had a number of things here, and have yet to be disappointed, from burgers (Love the Triple prime burgers) to crab cakes(ace!) to the salad bar, which has a great spread. Endless french fries are nice too, and they are really tasty as well. We've hung out in the bar a couple times and it's okay; the tvs are a little small to call it a sports bar, but they mean well. They've got a decent draft selection and the cocktails are good too. All tolled: Good service, a predictable menu with a couple splendid twists, and a nice space to eat in. I'll do that again.

"All you can eat salad bar" with your entree. The burgers are good because they use quality meats and add the salad bar.

Doesn't deserve a star. The Scoop: "Brunch" sucked. No choices, no fresh eggs, no toast or muffins, no substitutions, nothing low fat or low carb, I asked for more coffee which never came. Server was nice, but seemed too busy with only a few tables and a limited menu. In short, they should NOT be in the "brunch" business, they're a pub, and should just offer thier regular menu which they are ok at.

As far as national chains go, Ruby's is my favorite. They cook burgers the way you like them (medium rare or rare) which most chains won't anymore due to the hysterical fear the government has instilled in most people over under cooking beef. In any case, the rest of the menu is pretty good and this location features a scenic view of the man made lakes. Plus the staff is friendly and have a sense of urgency when serving you. Overall, it's great for for just about any meal, not overpriced, and delivers on my expectations.

Very disappointed with our visit to Ruby Tuesday the other night. Liked that the bar had a full menu, but the service was not good. Took 45 minutes to get our dinner. We had told the waitress that we were hungry and trying to make a movie time, but didn't even get our biscuits until right before our dinner and one was not cooked all the way through. The waitress was more interested in socializing with the bartender then service. My fiance had steak and said it was really good. I had the boardwalk platter. The shrimp were really good, but the salmon was over cooked (salmon jerky) and the tallapia tasted like dirt. Don't think that we will return to Ruby Tuesday any time soon.

Went their for valentines day dinner with my wife. The service was way better than expected. I think this was one of the BEST SERVICE I've ever had. We had the fresh guacamole dip (A+). she had the . I had the top sirloin wonderfully seasoned.

I want to start with the postives. THE GOOD: The salad bar is really good. The great thing if you're cheap is that you get get a meal and add a salad bar and give it to somebody else. The salad bar is all you can eat even when you add it to a meal and as long as you only serve one person from it they don't care if you give it to somebody that you're sharing the actual meal with.. in my book that's nice. Don't miss the potato salad.. it is SO YUMMY and homeade tasting. There are some really fun items on the salad bar that you don't find anywhere else ... it's a definite value with interest AND flavor. FOUR STARS! MEDIUM: The chicken pot pie was ok and a good value for a lunch item. It's been awhile since I had this but it was creamy and the I think cheese was added ... or maybe that was me but it made it good. The crust was nice and thick. It left a sorta bad taste in my mouth that day anyway because I added the salad bar (which I love) and found a huge hair... I know it's hard to avoid that from a restaraunt stand point but it's still disgusting) The hamburger .... how do you mess up a hamburger? By overcharging and not delievering. This one was billed as something like "angus beef" or some other high end (in this case) rip off. If you like Red Robin burgers you will be in a state of shock to see this ugly and tasteless thing come out to your table as they try to gouge your wallet in a way only Red Robin can (and get away with it.. IMO they're burgers are worth it!) THE BAD: Ok, the not so good part. The food has been consistently bad. I keep going back for the salad bar though! The ribs (though I had them a couple of years ago before the "fork tender" promotion) were dry and flavorless and not very meaty.... a horrible value. THE WORST: The appetizer sampler looked like a plate of microwave tontino pizza rolls ... it was SO BAD! It came on a huge platter and was so tiny by comparrison. It was very expensive too.. the kind of price that in most places you could order it for a meal and still have too much food. Not this thing. It was just plain awful in so many ways. I'll finish with last night's meal (what! We had a coupon!) which was a total mixed bag. Last night I had the steak and lobster. It's never good when the plate arrives and smells like cheap fish (not even cheap shell fish!) It smelled unnatural.. like immitation crab meat. I realize it's not real lobster but it was pretty bad. I'm fairly certain that three giant shrimp prepared better would have tasted twice as good. These things were tough and chewy and tasted..well... immitation. The steak was ok.. I think steak is really subjective. It was cooked REALLY WELL ... I mean it was cooked medium rare but they did it REALLY WELL! The mashed potato's were worse than the boxed stuff at Costco (which are really good by the way). They had that "frozen twice baked potato" flavor of fake ness). They had too much weird "seasona all" flavor. I love garlic mash but they tried to overseason which turned them into something fake flavored. Not good. The brocolli was PERFECT! The other nice thing about this restaurant is the location. It sits on that lake/pond thing and the weather was gorgeous last night! We did several laps around the lake and really enjoyed the night air. It's a little bit stinky in parts but it was pretty nice.

I signed up for Ruby Tuesday's newsletter online. I got a buy one get one free meal coupon. Then, on our birthdays, we received a coupon for a free burger dinner. Since our birthdays are four days apart, they honored both coupons for the same day. Although, Ruby Tuesday foot the bill for our meal, they still treated us like paid customers - courteous, friendly and best burgers ever. The fries were awesome, crispy, hot and not greasy. We left a big tip. You can get buy one get one free coupons in the valu-coupons envelope that's sent in the mail. I get that as my junk mail and often toss it, but once in a while, I'll look to find their coupon. Worth coming back.

Out of all the Ruby Tuesdays that I have been other than this one(McMinnville) I am highly impressed with the set up of this resturant. The fountain and location of this place is awesome. My boyfriend and I went and had dinner here on a Thursday evening in which they had a waiting list to be seated. That has to tell you something there. We ended up sitting in the bar area. Our waiter was very new being that it was his 2nd day on the job. He was awesome. I wish i could remember his name. Big huge kudos to him being that we were passed up serveral times by all the other waiting staff. He covered for there non-hospitality. We had the salad bar, the shrimp fondue appetizer, and some chicken entree(totally forgot name due to short term memory loss haha). We didnt have any alcoholic drinks but had the berry tea and strawberry tea. We will be returning to this place in the future....totally!! Also it is one of my boyfriends favorite places so if it makes him smile......we will be there as much as possible.......:)

Consistently decent food at a decent price. The service is pretty good and you can do dinner or lunch quickly. It's in a handy location so we wind up eating there frequently. The food is solid and there are a fair number of options. I usually get the grilled tilapia. It's a decent dish with a good number of options for the side dishes. I like the little cheese biscuits really anything with cheese is good. Anyhow, I think it's pretty good for a chain restaurant.

Three words: JUMBO LUMP CRABCAKE for $10.99 its really freakin' good. he had the bacon bison burger i had ruby mini's. ruby minis are four pretty good size "minis" burgers, i couldn't finish it. need to remember no mayo... they slap it on like it ain't no thang with mustard and a pickle with onion strings (yummy). for the same price ($8.99) you can get two ruby minis plus all-you-can-eat salad bar. I offered a bite of my mini burger to him and he said "after having a bison burger why would i wanna go back to THAT?" which may mean... it was the bomb. The cocktails were actually pretty strong... ordered a mojito ($6.49) had three sips and had to make him finish it cuzz i was already feeling a buzz (maybe i'm just a cheap date). the strawberry lemonade was a bit bubbly, with fresh strawberries, a bit sour but yummy ($3.99 no refills). anyways, i'd come back for the crabcakes, i'd like to try the sirloin steak ($17.99). and our server Nicole gave us excellent service!

I took my grandparents out for a nice dinner and we choose this place. This location is a lot nicer then the mcminnvile location. Outdoor patio that over looks a pond, lots of windows and friendly service. The food was very good. The salad from the salad bar tasted fresh. Prices are on the borderline between reasonable and midrange but still decent.

I've enjoyed this location when it was Beaches. We went on a sunny evening, when the prospect of eating outside on the patio overlooking the pond was very appealing. Aside from the view, however, Ruby Tuesday's had very little to recommend itself. We had hoped just to dine off the happy hour menu, but it was so minimal that we wound up ordering appetizers and entrees. The spinach-artichoke dip was good but not exceptional and definitely not worth the 600 calories (300 calories per "serving" but shared by two people instead of four, which seems far more likely in most situations). The Endless Garden Salad was good, nothing to write home about but OK, but instead of being a nice alternative to the "endless" salad bar, it was just a salad. No one offered to make it "endless," not that I needed more calories, even from salad, after the dip. Vegetarian entree options were also extremely minimal: an uninspired pasta dish or zucchini sliders. With the sliders, it seemed like Ruby Tuesday's again was opting for lots of calories from fat (feta cheese and ???) to provide flavor. It didn't work.

I have been to this place twice and the first time I was amazed at how awesome it was. The second time was extremely sub-par. There was a huge strand of hair across my table's guacemole and chips, something sticky inside one of my friend's drinks, and my wife's Jumbo Lump Crabcake was not fully cooked. I was stunned at the huge difference between the different visits. I figured the first time (which was later in the day) probably had more regular staff, while the last time (which was more in the afternoon) might have had newer and less seasoned staff and cooks working. So, go to this place, but be careful when you do.

What is wrong with a restaurant that has Happy Hour from 4-7, but makes you stay in the stinky bar, instead of on the lovely deck, outside. Shame on you. Waiter states it's a 'corporate' decision...really??

  • S T.

We used to like this place. They had a good happy hour, food met expectations and the bar staff is friendly and efficient. The last few times, none of that was true. The very last time (and I mean very last) our server, who knows and likes us, said, "They are running 40+ minute ticket times but I'll see if I can speed it up." Well, 45 minutes later we got two cold burgers and over cooked chicken tenders. The sad part is they really weren't very busy and our server had to apologize over and over. To top it off the happy hour menu was changed to a whopping $1 off appetizers. The Portland area has WAY too many better choices so be advised that this place does not deserve your money, much less your time.

My boyfriend and I live up the street so we are frequent visitors of Ruby. However, it is not because the food is exceptionally good or the price, more so based off of convenience. The food is moderately priced and the typical food served here is in the realm of Apple Bees, Red Robin, etc. I think it's classier than Apple Bees though (haha, if that exists), they just updated their look inside to a more modern/dining feel. Did an overhaul and remodeled things. We both had burgers and mine was satisfying. How can you go wrong with a cheeseburger, they cooked the meat as I asked of 'medium rare' which I was surprised by because it's typically still served medium. The fries were hot and the portion was generous. My boyfriend got the jalapeno burger and he said it was so-so. I did not taste it, but noticed the fried jalapeno strings on it did not come out crunchy as they looked in the picture, go figure. Ruby always has coupons for 50% off an entree, or $5 off a $15 purchase, a free desert etc. if you join their mailing club list. Overall a 3 out of 5. We arrived hungry and left full, no real complaints.

We received a gift card so we headed out on a Sunday evening. Server was pleasant - thus the one star. HH margarita may have been sprinkled with tequila? Not sure so had a second...no definitive no. Salad bar - looked impressive from the door. Nope. Limited choices including tomatoes that hadn't been cored before slicing. Potato salad made from dehydrated potatoes? Oh no they were left over dried up baked potatoes from last night. All the other patrons were served little biscuits but none offered to us. Shrimp fondue had hubby asking if it was creamed corn dip. Sweet and otherwise tasteless. Shrimp grits - so salty from bacon and canned cheese sauce I ate two bites. Grits were instant. Such a simple dish to do great but not here. New Orleans Seafood - canned cheese sauce on tilapia. Served with boxed rice. Yawn. $55 later - wish I'd stuck to bottled beer and mozzarella sticks. Sorry my friends wasted their hard earned money for the gift card.

First visit to a Ruby Tuesday restaurant and wasn't disappointed although without a coupon it would have been rather spendy. Waiter offered us both a free trip to the salad bar, wasn't expecting that! Had the bacon cheese burger which was quite good with a good sized patty, good cheese and an above average tasting bun, Good lightly salted and perfectly cooked fries. Their free garlic cheese biscuits were very good too. Only minor complaint is that, even though it was after the normal lunch crush time and not visibly busy, it took some time before we were seated. Also the food took over 25 minutes to be served to us after placing our order. They have a very nice, covered, outside dining area overlooking a very nice park and fountain.

This review is for the bar. I no longer eat in the restaurant (it would be lacking another star or more) because I don't have any young kids (yeah me! sorry parents desperate enough to eat out anywhere - nothing personal, I used to be you). DURING HH - a variety of $5 adult beverages and assorted bar food also for 5 bucks makes it bearable , but it's the bar staff who add a sparkly star for their speedy and unflappable service. If you are going to eat something aside from fried food - go with the 1980s salad bar - it's actually pretty decent in a Molly Ringwald/Judd Nelson sorta way.

Ambiance is great. Location is great. Drinks are pretty good. Food is not. My advice is to come here and sit at the bar or outside for some cocktails and maybe an appetizer, then go somewhere else for dinner. Salad bar is the best part.

I know this is a chain, but they do it RIGHT. We went on recommendation from another Yelper friend. He recommended the burgers made from prime. These were just done perfectly. Excellent taste, and BONUS- the meat was made EXACTLY to specifications. We wanted medium and it was just right. The roll is was on, the fries...everything perfect. *This was the first burger, in a great long while, in a long string of other restaurants, that I ordered "Medium" and got it correct. How hard is that? Kudos to Ruby. I also had the salad bar, which was all fresh and top notch. I especially liked this broccoli salad they have. Service was great. Server made sure we had some cheesy biscuits. I definitely look forward to returning here.

I will start this by saying I am not a fan of chain restaurants. Ruby Tuesday did not change my mind. Service was not good, (not awful) but not good. Food was not good. Blan. Husbands burger came with a hair (they did happily replace it, no questions asked), my food was cool, (temp cool/not awesome). Salad bar has FOUR different lettuce options, but not much else to mention. Skip this place and keep driving to Murray Hill Café next door.

This was my second, maybe third time in and likely my last. Overall, the experience was acceptably fair, but there were some glaring deficits. Our waitress was pleasant and reasonably efficient, but my wife and I felt like we were being rushed, start to finish even though the restaraunt was by no means busy. We both ordered the baby back ribs and although the meat did fall off the bone, the serving sizes were on the small side. Amazingly they were served sans barbecue sauce. Instead, we were offered ketchup. Yikes. My wife had desert and it looked to be fair. We had a buy one get half off the second coupon so our bill was just over $50, and would have been over $60 with no coupon. Plus tip. So it's not a particularly cheap place to eat. I would have to sum up our experience at Ruby Tuesday's as underwhelming. We have no plans to go back. That said, if you're wealthy and looking for a quick fix, this might be your huckleberry.

It's a very far drive for us to a chain restaurant like Ruby's. We usually wouldn't consider it, but the dining companion and I have fond memories of the croutons at the salad bar and the baby back ribs. This was back where we moved from. Sorry to say it was wasted gas. The croutons were there, but stone cold and never refreshed while we were there. The salad bar choices were minimal. Half the size of the salad bar we were used to. The ribs were saddest of all, falling apart because they were overcooked, not because they were meaty and moist. Never again.

Very disappointed this go around. Only good fare was the salad bar. My triple prime burger was bland and boring, but at least tender. Another person had to send their cold steak back, my daughter had to send her burnt chicken tenders back. While the restaurant did correct the issues, it was still not a great experience compared to my other visits.

This place is worthless... The food is too expesnive for the portions you are receiving. You are better off spending your money elsewhere. Burger is pretty dry and came with a side of fries, but the fries are nothing special. Usually you get fries that are thick cut and seasoned, but this was just plain thick cut fries and it was soggy when I received them. Don't waste your time here. Never EVER going to touch this restaurant again...

Dinner was ok. Nothing too fancy. Had to fet wife's steak redone because it was over cooked then the next steak was not cooked enough but she likes it like that so she ate it. Not known for their steaks.

I must say I love this place. Yes it's a chain but their food is good every time I go. The seating outside is beautiful looking onto a small lake with an awesome water feature. The inside is casual buy classy. Yvette steak and potatoes were cooked perfectly and the steak was so juicy. The salad bar is amazing I seriously love it there is much more than just salad on it. It's a great family place or date night place.

because of my mediocre middle class lifestyle I can't enjoy the likes of prime steakhouses ..however on my basic budget I just enjoyed one of the best steaks of my life...ruby's consistently delivers and satisfies! If you don't like it you're probably fat or miserable...

Nice server crappy food. If you are selling an 19$ rib eye at least know how to cook it. A greasy tuff pc of garbage. Yuck sorry but it was horrible.

Two stars only because the service was very good and the staff friendly and accommodating. Now, only if they could get the food right. My wife had the bleu cheese burger and it was just not edible. Very strange spices and we expected way more for a burger the server boasted as his favorite. I ordered the steak and shrimp. I can't believe they even called that slab of leather a steak. Flavorless, dry and as thin as a credit card. Really gave me a chuckle when I saw it. When they say "petite", they mean every letter of the word. Three bites, three hundred chews and it was gone. The shrimp was nothing special and overcooked as well. If it wasn't for the salad bar I would have left hungry. As it was, the salad fixings were half frozen and most not qualified for my plate. We'll skip it next time and find another place.

OH my word - I am actually embarrassed to admit I even visited this place. Stupid tv ad brought me in there. This place is terrible. Starting with the extremely rude hostess to the seating arrangements to the wait staff and the food. Food is expensive, you receive small portions and the taste is blah. I used to love going their for the salad bar - which is now skinnied down to only a few choices and in rather dirty appearance. If you order an appetizer here - be prepared to pay alot of money for some thing that is very small when it arrives. Very busy for some reason when we were there - we were seated unfortunately near the wait staff station. Instead of walking on the main path in the restaurant, they were actually squeezing behind my husband's chair to get to the tables behind us. No reason for this. Seriously bumping into us each time. We finally had to ask the manager to make it stop. There are so many wonderful places to eat in this area - don't make the mistake of eating here, just don't. They don't deserve our money.

If I could give less stars, I would. Stopped by for meal after movie. First bad sign, the place was empty on a Saturday eve. We both ordered tilapia fish tacos that tasted like bad cat food. Gulped down entire glass of water to try yo get taste gone. So gross. We asked if we could just substitute their fresh salad bar that looked like it had potential. We both put Balsamic Vinegar dressing that upon first bite, had to spit it out. Not sure if oil was old or cheapest vinegar possible but it was horrible. We gave the server $40 and said we were leaving. She tried to send the manager over but we didn't want ant excuses or third substitution. Server followed us insisting to take our money back. Fine, we will but we will NEVER go to a RT again and will share this story when ever possible. No restaurant should be that bad!!!!

Usually I love it here, but the customer service both times I came here was horrible. My boyfriend and I went there a couple weeks ago for some happy hour, and sat nearly in front of the two bartenders. The girl bartender was super rude with her greeting. She seemed like she hated her job, and was taking it out on the customers. After taking our order we overheard her talking to another couple next to us that were asking how an item on the menu tasted. Her uninterested reply was "I don't know. Never had it. Anything else?" The couple seemed just as shocked as we were with her attitude! After our food came, neither of the bartenders spoke to us till after we finished our meal, and our drinks had been empty for a good 3 minutes. Mind you, there were about 4 couples at the bar and TWO bartenders!!! We still left a 20% tip and booked it out of there. A couple weeks later we decided to try happy hour again, and hoped maybe the last bartender was fired. It was a different guy this time who was almost worse! There were a total of 3 people plus us that were sitting at the bar, and this guy was hangin out not talking to us, not clearing our plates, not filling our drinks, and avoiding eye contact so we couldn't get his attention. WE COULDNT BELIEVE IT. Worst experience ever. My boyfriend and I are both in the industry, and are pretty laid back... But come on! Why are they hiring these people?!

The food is pretty good for a chain restaurant. During the summer you can sit outside under enormous shade trees by the lake. It's one of my favorite places to have a beer on a hot day. The triple prime burger is one the best in the city.

We landed here on a Sunday when the restaurants we were trying to get to had huge lines... so we popped over with some friends as we were more interested in being seated and visiting than worrying about where we were. We were all surprised (very surprised) to find that it was pretty darn good. Our waitress was friendly and prompt, our food was pretty good (although my husband had a chicken burger which came no where close to being as big as the bun... which was weird... like half the bun had no meat). The price was totally fine and it was very clean. I won't dream about this place, but I certainly wasn't disappointed.

I rarely spend $ 10 on a hamburger. No, let me rephrase that. I have NEVER spent $ 10 on a hamburger. And since Ruby Tuesday was suggested by a friend as her treat (and she had a coupon) how could I say no? After all, this was her payback for a R/T to PDX airport. It's been years since I hung out in the Murray Hills area (near Scholls Ferry & Murray) even though I used to live out there. I didn't expect it to be too crowded but for a Wed afternoon, they had a surprisingly good crowd. Our server was on us in a flash and I had previewed the menu and knew I was going for the Long Island Ice Tea right off the bat. $ 5 for a full pint and tasty with the comp itty bitty garlic biscuits.... HA! "Tasty Biscuits" (get it?) We both went for the Pretzel Bun Burgers with very nice fries. I had the black & Blue cheese, the tab picker upper opted for the ...I think the mushroom one. Each was fully priced at $ 9.49. Word.....if you plan on using the "half off second burger..." coupon, make sure it isn't expired. Service was great and much too attentive for a burger joint. Salad bar looked good but not tried this trip. The above pics are pretty accurate from what we saw. A good burger, a great drink, excellent service, and someone else bought. I felt like Jeff Bingham.

YELP! I'm constipated! And the fried food from the happy hour menu didn't even taste good- not worth it! I used to like Ruby's but they have totally gone down hill over past month or so. Even the burgers don't taste right anymore. Happy hour menu was decent but they changed it to obviously save money but it is going to cost them in the long run.

Used to go here only because I get coupons on the mail and I was too tired to cook. Should've chosen to eat somewhere else, but it's comfy to eat outside when its not too hot or raining. For the price and portion I agree that it's not worth it. If you happen to peek on their kitchen you wouldn't want to eat here, it's dirty, messy and wonder if you notice when you first come instead of a good smelling food you smell that musky wet stinky floor. So after that day I decided not to go inside and just eat somewhere else and coupons. Now when I get coupons on the mail it's going straight to the trash.

Visiting from out of state we were not sure where to go for our dinner, but after going over a list of restaurants we settled on coming here. We were with a group of 7 adults, two 6 year olds and a 9month old. My part of the party go there late, our reservation was at 745, but we were almost immediately sat down at our table after we all arrived. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and nice! We asked her if we could split the check and she just waved her hand with "no worries we can do it at the end." She took our drink orders, and was prompt with taking or dinner orders not much later. She was very polite holding conversations with the kids and listening about there tournament earlier in the day. She was very patient with me trying to figure out what came with my order. I ordered the steak and shrimp and enjoyed everything minus the dipping sauce they gave me for the coconut shrimp. It was not too my liking, it had a weird after taste, I also wish they had refilled the salad bar, there was very little salad left, mostly spinach was available. My husband ordered a pasta, my son ordered the grilled cheese and another person on my check ordered the steak and lobster. There was no complaints from anyone about their food. It all looked and smelled delicious and to my surprise not as expensive as we thought it was going to be. When your used to eating in the Bay Area steak restaurants for two people the tab is anywhere from $75+ our tab for 4 adults and a child it only came out to $76! Boy was I happy! haha Another employee had came to clean up a table behind us and somehow started talking to people at our table, and he was very friendly! He gave both kids high fives after hearing about their tournaments and was talking to us about the area and us being from California. I took away one star for the salad, but if I was in the area ever again, I would probably come back.

Had lunch on Saturday after berry picking. Sat outside with a nice view of the pond. My family's order: wife - salad bar; 10 yr old son - popcorn shrimp; myself - prime hamburger. I ordered the burger medium, with cheese on the side and added onions. It came out with everything correct except the burger was well done. Matt, our server was very gracious and informed the manager. She downgraded the cost of my burger to the regular and comped our drinks. My wife and son said their meals were very good. Service was excellent. I would definitely try again when I am out that way.

The burgers are decent and salad bar is tasty. However, I was disappointed during my last visit. I ordered the chicken strips meal which came with three chicken strips and fries for $12. We had kids with us, so one of the children ordered the chicken strips meal off the $5 kids menu. When both meals arrived side-by-side, the only difference between my adult meal and the kids meal was that I had chicken strip more! I was expecting my portion to be larger than the kids meal, but everything was the same (same amount of fries), except mine came on a bigger plate. Very disappointing since my meal costed $12, while the kids meal was only $5!!!! $7 extra for only 1 more chicken strip? Next time I'll order from the kids menu. What a ripoff.

I've been wanting to go to Ruby Tuesday's since the one out in Vancouver closed 2 years ago. I've eaten at Ruby's in various other cities such as Memphis and in New York and have yet to have a bad meal. I figured that my food here would be on par with the rest of the chain. Husband and I happened to be out here on this side of town and decided on a whim to go to Ruby Tuesdays because it has always been reliable and good. Avoid this Ruby Tuesday at all costs. It's in the old Beaches restaurant and doesn't look like it's been cleaned or updated since then. The entire restaurant is old and has a sour smell that tells me that they don't do a very good job cleaning. Anyway, we walked in and got seated quickly by the kitchen. The kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant so you can see everything that goes on. We had a lackluster server who shall remain nameless because it was so awful. This guy gave us our menus and didn't come back for a good 15 minutes. He finally did get our order in it came up fairly quickly but he was no where to be found. The restaurant wasn't busy so I knew it was our food sitting there. Another waitress finally brought it over and that was when our server magically appeared again. Food was sub-par. Very greasy burger. Also disappointed the sliders weren't on the menu anymore!! Fries were good though. Never did get the bill from our server. Another server dropped it off and said our server had to step away. Entire meal took over an hour when it should of been about 40 minutes. A lot of sitting and waiting. However, we were entertained by a very unprofessional waitstaff and manager while we waited. We were able to see and hear the manager berate the cooks as well as servers argue amongst each other about a table that was having an issue. The servers didn't bother to go anywhere where the table couldn't see or hear them and the manager got involved as well and there was plenty of hand flailing. Not something I really want to see in a restaurant where I'm trying to have a good time. Will not be back to the this Ruby's. Too bad it is the only one in the Portland metro area.

Easily the worst meal I have eaten in years. Staff was mediocre but didn't seem to care what was going on. Garden bar looked terrible. Assorted veggies were wilting and dried out from the lighting, dressings were dirty and had dribbling from other dressings. Both entrees we had were bland and flavorless, unless you like salt. Then it would be great!

Never had problems at the bar. Good drinks at ok prices. Salad bar is the best in town. That being said, there burgers are par with McDonald's. Food is horrible. Service is usually not bad. I went there once years ago and the waitress was a huge @$%# it was epic , worst customer service I have ever had. She talked down to my wife and I like we were idiots. Because I had a bite of her all u can eat salad. There's never a good reason to come here.

3 stars is just so absolutely spot on for Ruby Tuesday. It's not a consistent 3 star across the board for everything there, though. 5 stars: salad bar. Very well done, well stocked every time I've been there with good choices. 4 stars: the building itself. Initially, about a decade ago this was "Beaches" restaurant. Same joint as the Vancouver version. It's very nice inside. L-shaped, with the bar taking up the smaller part of the L with the dining room utilizing the rest. The kitchen is exposed and viewable (mostly) from the upper part of the dining room. The booths are comfortable, and it's got a very "craftsman" type of interior, with lots of wood, a fireplace, exposed aggregate and the like. It's next to the (infamous?) man-made pond at the junction of Murray and Scholls which, while artificial, is kinda neat to look at. 3 stars: service. Nothing out of the ordinary. Each server I've encountered does a fine job. 2 stars: burgers. This is what RT was initially known for. None of them are at all remarkable. I've had everything from a basic bacon cheeseburger up to their "Triple Prime" premium options. Just... not memorable in any way, shape or form. In fact, each Triple Prime version I've had was overly greasy. 1 star: intangibles. Primarily, the glaring, recent (?) omission of the bison burger from their menu. This was one menu item that I appreciated. Even though their burgers aren't anything special, the bison burger sorta was. It tasted fine, and nutritionally was a hell of a lot less heart-attack inducing than the standard options. It's gone from the menu now. One other thing: the menu is spread too damn thin. Everything from seafood to pasta to steaks to bbq to pseudo-Asian fare is available. Note to Ruby Tuesday: eliminate the fluff and go BACK to burgers again. Do them better than Red Robin. If you can accomplish this I'd be willing to bet that you'd increase traffic and, accordingly, your revenue. Then you'd be able to pay for what undoubtedly is a huge amount of overhead at this lovely building. 5+4+3+2+1 = 15/5 = 3 (stars). Simple math.

We sat in the bar during happy hour and it was a pretty good experience. First time eating here and the foods was good, the waitress was super friendly and we got out at 50 bucks to include tip. We ate and drank of the happy hour menu. It was filling and got my buzz on. I would recommend this place.

I love this location for Ruby Tuesday's -- you can sit on the patio, during the summer, and look at the pond and fountain. The service is fast, the food is pretty good, and the beer selection is pretty good as well.

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants. We have been going here for years and I must say that the menu is always being updated with fresh and fun new entries. I haven't found anything on the menu here that I don't absolutely love. I also love the salad bar and the ability to choose your sides with your meal. The cheddar biscuits are to die for and my only wish is that they weren't as stingy and brought you more than a few at a time. Either way I LOVE Ruby Tuesday and will be visiting for as long as they are in business. Do yourself a favor if you've never been and check them out! You won't regret it!
