Came here for lunch - very quaint for small town. Nice view of "The Branch" out the windows. Nice fireplace and atmosphere. I had a French Dip - really good. Sweet potato fries were good as well. Little sugar and maybe some cinnamon sprinkled on them so if that is not your thing get the regular fries. Grandmother got the potato soup - she wasn't a fan - a little on the garlicky side for her taste. Everything else was really good.

I am surprised to see such mediocre ratings for this place. I was very happy with the service, environment/view, and food. I was visiting from Los Angeles, and didn't know what to expect, but was referred here. They have a great selection of local and not-local beers. I had the fried mushrooms and skirt steak salad. The mushrooms were fresh, well seasoned, and hot/crispy. The salad was large, about 6 oz. of well seasoned and marinated steak, cooked to my requested preference. It wasn't very busy when I walked in for a late lunch, but it seemed like it would be a fun place to go out for drinks, too. I would come back.

Food is good once it actually gets to your table. Service is soooooo slow. Drinks are toooo expensive for the area. The wait staff is friendly enough.

This could have easily been 5+ stars. The food is great! The atmosphere is wonderful, and the decor makes the dining experience upscale. However.....the service is HORRIBLE!!!! I do continue to eat there because I'm a local, and I love the area and the food is always on point. They really really need to do something about the service. It's ALWAYS slow, and not because of food prep. The food comes out in a reasonable amount of time once you FINALLY get to order it. The wait at the front is ridiculous. We arrived today for lunch at 110pm. Waited for 5 minutes before anyone greeted us and they only greeted us because I walked back to the waitress station to ask if we are supposed to seat ourselves. By the way.... There were only 2 tables occupied, and 6 staff people. Waited 10 minutes after being seated to put in our order. The server argued about a dressing, dilly dallied with our checks. It's like this every time we go there. They need some guidance for their waitstaff in a BAD way!

We had a great time for dinner. We went mid-week and were quickly seated. Our server, Hershall, was polite, professional, and did a great job keeping our glasses filled. I had the salmon, and my wife has the burger.

This was literally the worst meal of my life. I ordered the steak with rice. The steak had zero flavor. I don't know how it is possible to mess up a steak that made but this place managed to do it. My sister had Spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were frozen and the pasta was mush. The sauce obviously came out of a jar. My dad had the burger and it too had zero flavor, it was like a crappy version of Burger king. There was a large party of drunk people next to our table who were screaming and laughing so loud we couldn't carry a conversation. The bill was over $70. I can't imagine a worse place to eat. I will never go back and I urge everyone to avoid this place at all costs. I heard it used to be a good restaurant but it has totally gone to shit. Disgusting.

In the past, we have occasionally come here to enjoy the food which is good even though the service is extremely slow. We've never minded much because we're enjoying each other's company. However last night we had reservations at 7:15 due to it being Valentine's Day that I had called in 3 days prior. We walked in at 7:15pm and they had "lost" our reservation. The hostess looked lost and confused and told us our name wasn't on the list. She went to speak to her manager and came back looking just as lost but told us this has happened 4 times already that evening and that someone must have been taking reservations wrong. A few people trickled in behind us and she directed them to the bar. She proceeded to tell us they would make room for us in 30 min or less. A waiter (possibly manager) told my husband "just remember it's not YOUR fault," laughed and walked off. We waited at the now crowded bar for 30 minutes and they still had no table for us even though they had 3 empty tables and a table where a waiter was folding napkins nearby. Needless to say we left and ate somewhere else. NEVER. GETTING. MY. BUSINESS. EVER. AGAIN.

Wait staff is great, drinks have gotten way better, the food is good but inconsistent sometimes.

Town Branch Eatery is an upscale pleasant surprise in the small town of Tahlequah, Oklahoma where it is dominated by fast food chains. Here you can enjoy high quality local and imported wine by the bottle or glass with a wide enough selection to satisfy a party or a picky date. (Not that I would know). They have special touches, very friendly staff and reasonable one page menu which keeps your choices simple yet offer just enough variety. My favorite place in Tahlequah! Try it for yourself.

We called and made reservations for 6:00 for a party of 12. My husband and I tried to order a chardonnay on the menu and the waitress came back and apologized because they only had one glass left. I ordered a different chardonnay and got it about 45 minutes later. We never got our food or salads after about an hour and half even though several tables had finished eating even though they arrived after us. Our waitress came back and said the delay was because someone ordered salmon well done. After another 30 minutes our orders trickled to the table one by one. It took so long we went ahead and starting eating before everyone was served. The last order took an additional 30 minutes because they ran out of salmon so she chose a steak cooked medium. The steak came out very rare and purple in the middle. It was sent back and finally cooked to her satisfaction. Needless to say several people finished eating before everyone was served. It took THREE hours by the time we were finished with our meal. I got my "Caesar" salad as a small side on my dinner plate. How was the food? I can't remember because it took so long. Btw, we were celebrating a 63rd anniversary and everyone was ready to leave to say the least.

Whatba great surprise! This place has been here forever, but recently got a new chef. After hearing great things about the place from my dad, who is also a foodie, I decided to check the place out for myself. The interior has been totally remodeled and has a very classy feel to the entire decor. In the back dinning room they even have a piano for entertInment. In the same room you can dine while over looking the stream running just below the window, and trust me, nothing is more relaxing than the sound of running water. Also in this room is the bar. Not a rowdy roadhouse looking bar either. I think you have to go Dow the street for that. The entire place requires class. Just out the back door are the stIrs to the upstairs patio. I havent checked it out yet but I will and will post a follow up review. The food was amazing. We were there for lunch. We shared the nachos as an appetizer. They came topped with Havarti cheese, pickled cucumber and smoked jalapeno salsa. For my main course, I had the BLT. But again, this was no run of the meal BLT. The bacon was breaded and fried, chicken fried steak style. It was topped with a yellow tomato, spring greens, a garlic mayo and served on wheat bread. I've had breaded bacon before, but noting nearly as good as this.

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here considering the mixed reviews. The server was especially nice when she accommodated our request to sit upstairs where we could overlook the streets of this quaint little town. The drink selection was good, and they were inexpensive...beers are only a few bucks. The caesar salad was surprisingly good in my opinion because the lettuce leaves were dark green and healthy rather than light green/white looking like other places. The server remembered to put my dressing on the side. The Rib Eye was really good and cooked to perfection. I would most definitely come back here.

My classmates and I came here for dinner during one of our last nights in town. Everything went wrong during that dinner. There were six of us, and they sat us right in the middle of the restaurant. After we placed our orders, we sat there for 20 minutes and watched everyone else around us order and get their food. Our waitress came by a couple times, offered us refills and apologized for the wait, ensuring us that our food was being prepared. Well, after another 15 minutes, she came by and said the ticket order fell on the floor so she had to verify our orders and resubmit it. At that point, half our table was ready to get up and leave, but we didn't want to be party poopers. Another 30 minutes or so later, our food arrived. One dish wasn't prepared adequately and was sent back to the kitchen. Another (hamburger on special bun/roll) was prepared differently from what it should have been because they JUST ran out of the special roll (Yes, the table next to us who was seated AFTER US but got their food BEFORE US got the last special roll!!!). On top of all those mishaps with the waitress and the kitchen prep, the food was expensive!!! The mac and cheese was really good, but it cost $7 for a little bowl of it! Yes, the food was good, but for spending that much, I would have definitely expected the experience to be much better.

Not impressed at all! I had the Pepper Steak which is a thick tough steak topped with peppers, onions, and mushrooms set upon a bed of home cut fries. It came out undercooked and I sent it back. My husband ordered the Cornish Game Hen, which was supposed to be honey glazed and served with rice and vegetables. The honey glazed tasted nothing of honey. It had a strong vinegar taste. The hen was overcooked and dry. The rice was undercooked and under seasoned. Thank goodness we ordered the Bruschetta, which was very good. The restaurant has been remodeled and is very nice, but the food left much to be desired. My husband raised our complaints with the waiter and the waiter said management would come speak to him, but he never showed. Maybe we ordered the wrong menu items because most of the food others were eating looked very good.

I agree completely with the last review. In the past year or so it has been transformed into a completely different business. What was once greasy bar & grill food complete with peanuts you could throw on the floor is now a very clean, modern and upscale dining experience. The interior is completely unrecognizable compared to what I remember from my college days. If I were them I would have changed the name entirely to differentiate from the old business.

This place might have been good back in '08 but not anymore. Everything I've tried tasted like it had been frozen until about 5 mins after I ordered it. The service was ok at best. The patio is very nice, not a bad place for a couple of drinks, just don't go there to eat.

Great stuff! The guy who runs the place was a butcher for several years, so he knows his meat. The atmosphere is great (exept I don't like the gameday crowd, but lots of people do). The outdoor seating overlooks an awesome part of the creek (the "town branch") There is a lot of WPA stonework visible, and a great view of a beautiful part of the NSU campus.

We went there on a Saturday with a group of 9. We ordered our food. Then the waitress comes back and tells us that there out of several things. We make our changes. We ordered fried pickles. They came out dark brown and burnt. How anyone could of served these I don't know. We said we didn't want them. The waitress took them back and came back with some new ones. They were better. We all got our food and all of it was bad. I ordered hamburger steak. It was burnt and dry and the onions were black. I asked for grilled mushrooms. They forgot them so the waitress went to go get them and she brought them back. They were from a can and they were icy cold. How can that be the grilled mushrooms I ordered with my meal. The beef fajita sandwich had bad sour cream on it, it was chunky and smelled bad. The guacamole was brown with a brown oil substance coming out of it. The beef was so dried it should of been beef jerky. None of us ate anything of our food except for a few bites. We asked the waitress to speak to a manager, she said the owner just left and no one was in charge. She left and came back and said she caught the owner and the owner said that she would give us the pickles for free but everything else was full price. The only thing that was ok was the side salads. My sister went up to talk to someone, the owner had left. The cook said if we did not pay full price he would call the cops. We could not believe this!! The food was bad, we could not eat it!! How can that be a response to a customer. I never had such bad customer service. The waitress finally rang us up for our salads and we left. They never offered to recook our food or anything, just pay or we will call the cops. I was so outraged!!
