My sons had a Dr.'s appointment in Tahlequah afterward they were ready for lunch. We searched yelp and found Las Maracas. It got great reviews here so we tried it and we very impressed. The lunch menu items were almost the size of the dinner plates at our favorite restaurant back at home, but half the price! The customer service was wonderful and always fast and checking back on us. Also I love HOT salsa and this place has the best I've had anywhere. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Tahlequah.

hard to go wrong with this place. food was good, very fast to come out. 32 oz bud light for $2.25???? the spicy salsa has a nice kick and good flavor. mild salsa is ok. very simple interior. nothing absolutely "amazing" about the place, typical tex mex menu with about 4,000 choices. very likely to return ~if~ I ever go back to the tiny town it's in! I'd say 3.5 stars, but I'll give them the benefit of four because the beer is cheaper than drinking at home.

I ate here for lunch while traveling on business. I was hungry for Mexican food and did a very quick search on yelp for a good rated restaurant. Upon entering I was greeted and was guided to a table immediately. The staff here are friendly and courteous. I was impressed. There is a wide range of selections on the menu, but I ended up ordering a lunch combination. It had a taco, burrito, and chili rellano all covered in cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was excellent. That's pretty much where the good stopped. None of the food had much flavor, except for the cheese sauce. I was disappointed that there wasn't much seasoning or spice added to the ground beef. It seemed to have been cooked with just a little chili powder. No cumin, garlic, oregano, or any other typical Mexican spices were detectable. Maybe the pork or chicken is better, but since I am only in town for one day I will not be able to give them another try.

Avoid this debacle. I now have a new "worst server ever" and that was the highlight my dining experience at Las Maracas. The food was atrocious, the dishes were dirty, the chips were stale, and the salsa was runny. General chaos and frustrated patrons provided the ambience. If you go to Las Maracas, order the big beer-you'll need it.

Eat here a lot due to proximity to work place and it seems to be declining in regard to service. Today was it, won't be going back. Service bad, wait staff don't seem to understand orders and appear to be very rushed regardless of workload. Refills are few and far between and there is little ice in drinks (although they will bring a cup of ice when you ask).

Some of the best mexican food I have ever had, it has a very big menu with a lot of options. The service was outstanding as well.

This is the BEST mexican restaurant in Tahlequah! The setting is very comfortable and colorful. And the food is just awesome! They don't skimp on anything and you leave very full! Me and my wife go every once in awhile and are never disappointed.

Las Maracas Mexican Restaurant, Bar and Grill opened up at the old Patron location at 1175 E. Downing in Tahlequah after remodeling everything - even the bathrooms. Patrons was excellent food and service but I think Las Maracas even has them beat! Friendlier staff, bigger portions - great taste. Have eaten there twice and had a wonderful dining experience both times.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
