I would give the burrito alone 5 stars! On top of that the Monday night crew was super friendly and helpful. I walked in on a rainy Monday night at 9:04 (they close at 9 on Mondays) and asked if I could still get a burrito. A friendly cashier welcomed me and recommended the BYOB. The cook had already cleaned the grill but made my burrito with a smile and said it was no problem at all. The rest of the guys were happy to help me select my salsa and tell me what they liked most and explained the ingredients. I would give them 6 stars if I could as their customer service is awesome!!!

Baja Jacks is kinda like a Chipotle mixed with a fast food taco shop. There are more options than Chipotle, but you can also go for the Build Your Own whatever that gives it that Chipotle like feel. (Okay, I'll stop saying Chipotle. Last time. I swear.) Every time my family and I are in the Owasso area, this is the only place I really consider going to. I have loved everything I've gotten here, and we've come multiple times. It's usually pretty crowded around lunch time, even on week days, so be warned! But we've never not been able to find seating. After ordering, you get free chips to go along with their amazing salsa bar. They have a mango salsa that's on point, and all of the other salsas are pretty delish too. You really can't go wrong with any of them. I've tried multiple food options here, and I love that they have plenty of veg-friendly choices! The last time I went, I actually added some fish to my BYOB, and it was great. They also have the cotija cheese, which is so yum. The BYOB offers lots of choices, as well, not just a burrito or bowl. My only complaint is that sometimes the bowls are a little smaller than I expect them to be, for the price, but some of the other options seem to be larger in portion size. I also wish this place was nation wide!!! Come to San Antonio! Overall, great choice for lunch or dinner if you're in Owasso.

It was okay at best. The food was bland and kind of pricey for what you get. I did enjoy the salsa bar though. The dining area is very cramped and tables were full so we had to stand around and wait for others to leave before sitting down.

I've been at this spot NUMEROUS times & they've never let me down. It doesn't help that they're up the street from my job. Makes me wanna always come back for more. For good reasons. I always (& forever will) get the BYOB. It's honestly the best deal on the menu. You get to choose the meats, veggies, extras, tortillas, etc for a better price compared to everything else that's on the menu. You can't lose. This time around, I got garlic shrimp & crab, shredded chicken, cabbage, Monterrey & pepper jack cheeses, lettuce, creamy lime sauce & so forth in a taco salad bowl. Always comes with chips & you can get as many cups as you want from the (many) salsas that they have. Now that I think about it, it's tough between them & Chipotle on who's better. They give each other a run for their money. The advantage Baja Jacks has, are the options. With combining your meats compared to just choosing one with the price staying the same, it's in the air.

Very disappointed with our experience at the Owasso Baja Jacks. I was next in line to order our meal and my family (wife and three children) were asked to get up from our table to seat another family. The situation was not handled very professionally and we left to go elsewhere. There were multiple tables who were completely finished eating and about to leave. My family left hungry, embarrassed, and frustrated. Spoke with manager and owner on phone. I got a sorry this happened from the owner and it should have been handled differently, I'll talk to my staff, and hope you come back.

This place is awesome! I wish we had one closer to home. The ordering system is very customized. You can build your own anything the way you want it, or just order off the menu. They have a delightful salsa bar that you can try out. There are several types of salsa and some pico de gallo and peppers. You also get a complimentary basket of chips, but go ahead and spring for some white queso. It's only $2.50, and you will thank me. The shredded chicken here is the tastiest trip to flavor town you can get. I prefer it on the quesadilla, but I'm sure everything is great with if. Go check this place out!

Good food and friendly staff. Restaurant also has high chairs and is kid/baby friendly. We really like how you aren't up charged for every extra thing you want on your burrito or nachos. Reasonably priced also. We love supporting local businesses! It would be very cool to see menu items locally sourced!

One of our favorite places to eat in Owasso. Everything tastes fresh and the salsa bar has several offerings for any taste. I recommend the street tacos or chicken nachos. For the price, hands down best value in town!!!

Better than Chipotle. And this is coming from someone who will happily eat Chipotle every day. This is the highest compliment I can give. They are gluten sensitive friendly and can make any buritto or taco on lettuce. They also have GF chips. I will be coming back!

Came here for breakfast - all items are $5. I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla, which comes with eggs and cheese with a choice of bacon, ham, or chorizo. I am a non pork eater, so I asked if I could substitute potatoes for the meat and they happily obliged. Food came out fast and tasted so fresh. They have a salsa bar with different types of toppings you can add, which is always a plus. The potatoes in my quesadilla were sliced thin and cooked just right, and the cheese was so delicious! I was very impressed! The management came around and asked how everything was - customer service earned them that coveted 5th star. There are only 2 locations right now (Riverside and Owasso) but I hope they put one out on Broken Arrow soon!

It's not as good as qdoba or chipotle. It was decent but not as good as I was expecting.

This place was very dirty. Food on the floors, tables and seats. Salsa bar was dirty and completely out of red salsa. They crammed so many tables in that people kept bumping into my chair as I ate. No info for customer concerns/complaints provided on sales slip. Will not return.

Love this place. Byob is our favorite. Friendly staff, Jack's fantastic. Most of them know our order by heart, and recognize my phone number when we call in.:-) Any mistakes, they're very good about correcting. We frequently pick up their salsa for cooking at home, too.:-)

Ok! Let me tell you something right now! I'm no Mexican food connoisseur. Are you listening to me! But, this place by far has the BEST Chicken quesadillas I have ever had! Bar None...off the wall, OMG....Fughgettaboutit! You hear me! This is a push the table away, throw your fork, look up at the sky with a turned neck with pure mouth watering bliss....Then a bring back down to reality moment as you stare and look....then point at the plate and say......."That is the best damn quesadilla I have ever had!" Ahhhhhhwoooooooooo!

Great fish tacos. Food for a group needs to be called in quite early, but besides a timing issue on my part, they did great. Great burritos and love the salsa bar and chips. Great food. I hear Garth Brooks loves the place too. Just a side bar about our last visit.

I found a really good Mexican place, up from the hotel, affordable, cute as can be. And it's delicious. I found it on Yelp. It's within near walking distance from the hotel. The food is top notch. The house specialty salsa was very addicting. I had the Rosarita rolled tacos. I was expecting three, and was surprised when I received 4. The guacamole on the top of the rolled tacos was very tasty. I can't believe how much I ate! All 4 rolled tacos, and almost all the chips. The chips are light colored corn chips, kind of floured, airy. They were complimented totally with the specialty sauce. There is a sauce bar, with several flavors, but I got hooked, and stayed hooked. I like the large, windows on the front, and the surfboards hanging on the ceiling. It looks like a tiki bar, and maybe it is supposed to. It was all under $6, and I'm full full full.

If you mess up at building your OWN burrito, then you have failed. You can pick and choose and custom make something or just order something off the menu. Service is good, place is clean and Jack (who owns the place astonishingly) is a great guy. Kid friendly, and adult friendly (aka they have beer). Not 100% authentic Mexican, but it is super close to California surf food. They also play Sublime and other cool tunes.

Create your own burrito is awesome. Priced competitively with other restaurants in the area. You get a very good sized burrito. I'm a grown man and sometimes take half of mine home for tomorrow's lunch. It is usually very crowed when I go. Make sure and have someone grab a table while you are in line, unless you want to eat in your car.

Great little place in Owasso... The BYOB (Build Your Own Burrito) is my favorite, and @ $6.50 it's very affordable and you definitely get your money's worth! Their fresh salsa bar is amazing, Mango salsa... YUM! Great people to, the Owners Jack, and Tequila are almost always there, very friendly too!

This place is awesome! I love the fact that you can "Build your own burrito"! It's easy and tastes great! Grab a checklist and mark off everything that you want to be included in your burrito. Don't forget about the MANGO SALSA! I would go here just for that!

Baja Jack's is a "just" a strip mall burrito joint, but it's actually pretty amazing. It's definitely not the standard - they really raise the bar with SO many options for entrees and for toppings, it honestly puts the major burrito chains to shame! Also, prices are VERY affordable. Most menu items are $6 and under. This is a fabulous place for anyone who is limiting certain things in their diet. The BYOB (Build Your Own Burrito) can be customized about a million different ways including lettuce wrap, several meats or seafood options, etc. I opted for the combo nachos and it was delicious. I was super hungry and still didn't finish it all! I was really impressed by the huge variety of options at Baja Jack's and wish we had one a little closer to Joplin, MO!

This is a great place for lunch. I'm a vegetarian so I build my own burrito in a lettuce bowl. They have a self-serve sauce and salsa bar. Their tomatotillo & cilantro lime sauces are yummy. Considering I don't eat meat on my burrito, I wish the prices were a little better but I am a fan so I guess I'll keep returning.

The BYOB is the only way to go! I have eaten almost weekly at this place since they opened, I have not had a bad experience yet!

The closest to San Diego/Baja style Mexican food I've found here in the Tulsa area. I consider the prices extremely reasonable, they have healthy options (whole wheat tortillas, burrito bowls, fat-free cheese, lots of veg options). Excellent, fresh chips and a wide variety of fresh and tasty salsas.

This is not Tex-Mex, this is Mexi-Cali! Fresh ingredients, lots of flavor! This is absolutely my favorite place to eat! The food is consistently great, fresh, fast and most importantly, inexpensive! It doesn't get much better!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
