VERY friendly folks in here. As I pulled up, the owner(?)/pitmaster was at the pit, and I looked around the corner to make sure he was cooking over fire and smoke. Once Wife and got seated, he came around with a "sample platter", saying that he could tell we were new to his place and that he wanted us to try everything beforre we ordered. I've never seen that before! But I'm glad he did as I changed up my order a bit. I got brisket and ribs while the wife got the pulled pork sandwich. His ribs were great, with good flavor coming from his rub and definitely a smoke flavor in the meat. Amongst the best I've had anywhere, even from the self proclaimed rib capital of Memphis (very good but still not as good as mine!!). Very, very tender meat that came clean off of the bone (I do not undestand the competition standard of needing the "bite". Personally, I'd rather have "fall off the bone" and I think most of y'all would, too). And they definitely did not need sauce. The brisket was tender and had decent flavor, but it was a little dry and on the crumbly side as far as texture (definitely not as good as mine). The wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and had a hard time eating it all (the cubes of his pork on our sample platter were very good for smoked pork). I also got the jalapeno poppers and barbeque beans for my sides. The poppers seemed to be frozen, but they came out hot from the fryer and were enjoyable for frozen poppers. The BBQ beans were decent but didn't show a lot of imagination, just pinto beans with a few pieces of meat and some BBW sauce added for smokey flavor. He can ask my wife for her BBQ bean recipe sometime. I did try a couple of my wife's onion rings and they were very good and tender, would have to say they were made in-house. Overall, we had excellent service with a team style, and the meat was very good. I would most definitely eat here again to load up on his ribs. And next time to try more of his sausage. The sample bites we had were excellent as well.

Loved our experience here today. The food was great. I had the special which was Catfish and Ribs. Such a great meal at a great price. The atmosphere of this place is also fun. It's a smaller place. We drove by once about 1230 and it looked packed so we went to the "Worlds Largest Peanut". By the time we came back 45 min. later it had died down and we got a great seat right away. I would come back again as often as I could... if we didn't live so far away. I will come back again if I'm ever in the area.

Main Street BBQ is my favorite BBQ restaurant ever! I would even say that it's better than Earl's BBQ in OKC!!! The corn fritters and smoked sausage are to die for! They just know how to make some good southern BBQ! Every time I eat here I am more than satisfied with my meal! All the girls that work here are really sweet too. Never had bad service. If you're looking for real southern food, this is the place to go!!

What happened? Did I go into the wrong place? The experience I had should not garnish such high praise. I arrived to a half filled restaurant with smiling waitresses. Ok, that's a good start. I ordered water, and then it took 10 minutes before I received it. Keep in mind, there were at least 6 waitresses on staff, so I don't see what the hold up was? I ordered the three meat sliders with slaw, fried green beans, and jalapeno poppers. The jalapeno poppers were stuffed with what looked and tasted like American cheese. Not a fan. The fried green beans were good, but were lukewarm. The slaw was a little too vinegary. The sliders were hit or miss. The sausage one was great. The chopped beef and pulled pork both shared the texture and taste of the premade bbq you can by at costco. Im pretty sure they make their bbq onsite, but it sure didnt tatste like it. Once we were finished, I had to walk up the counter to pay, since our waitress paid no attention to us. Mind you, there was no crowd, and I wasnt in any real rush. But the service there was terrible. The food in general was mediocre. Go somewhere else, unless you don't care about quality.

We were in the Durant area last month and decided on Main Street Barbecue after reading the other reviews. Our waitress, Madison, had the BEST customer service. I had let her know it was our first time there and asked her recommendations. After placing our lunch order the she came back with a rib for each of us since we didn't order them and could know what they taste like for future reference. (And now I know I will return to order the ribs!- tender and just right!) My husband ordered a meat plate (chose turkey, ham, & brisket) with cole slaw. I ordered sliders (chose ham, brisket, & pulled pork) which were the perfect size (Hawaiian rolls) and delicious. My side of bbq beans were good and sweet and the fried green beans were as good as the other reviews had said. We were beyond stuffed. We will be in the area again this weekend and look forward to returning to Main Street Bbq.

Love the atmosphere and the service is always good. The sliders are very good. Tasty little buns and you can get three different meats. The fried green beans are good but in my humble opinion they should make their own Ranch dressing.. Delicious barbecue and great sauce! Very cute place!

While on our drive from Indiana to Dallas to the Final Four, we couldn't wait til we got there to try some authentic BBQ. Hit up Yelp and found this place....all I can say is WOW! I wasn't sure what to expect from a small town in OK, but man was this good! It was lunch time, and the place was hopping, so I knew that was a good sign. Very nice, clean place...the service was INCREDIBLE...I wasnt sure who our waitress was, because I was contantly being helped for refills, etc. Loved that. Oh...yeah...the food.....perfect....got brisket and pulled pork. I was in BBQ heaven!

Absolutely great food, brisket with spicy green beans... I'm sad I now live 13 hours away but if I'm ever remotely close I will stop in not only for the food but the owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet!

Adorable place with fantastic barbecue and sides. The pulled pork and chicken were delicious and the ribs were "fall off the bone" amazing. They have beer on tap and a couple of desserts. The service was perfect. We happened upon the place when two other restaurants were closed for Monday night and we were all glad we did. It was a simple and affordable barbecue menu that we all really enjoyed.

Probably 3.5 stars....I mean maybe it's a 4.5 star BBQ joint in Durant, but I had the driest chicken I've eaten for as long as I can remember. Their brisket was fine - moist, but really thin, and everything felt as though it was on done on an electric smoker. I did really enjoy their mayoless coleslaw but overall, sort of meh - plus BBQ doesn't really need to be full service. Probably won't come back.

My wife and I decided to take a day trip today and visited the fine state of Oklahoma today. When we travel, we like to find local restaurants wherever we're passing through. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise and the perfect way to end our little Oklahoma adventure today. The staff was wonderful and the food was very satisfying. I had the 1/2 pound plate with smoked sausage, chopped beef, potato salad, and apple cider coleslaw (I've never had that kind of coleslaw and I must say I did enjoy it). I had some banana pudding for dessert and it was exactly the way I love my banana pudding. The meats had amazing flavor and the BBQ sauce was "Money" (I had to use a Guy Fieri quote there."). My wife had a huge salad and a large baked potato with bacon bits and cheddar cheese. She loved hers too. We'll definitely make this a regular stop anytime we travel to that part of Oklahoma. We highly recommend this restaurant to all the hungry folks who pass through the Durant, Oklahoma area.

We stopped into Main St BBQ based on a friend's recommendation - he was spot on, the bbq was very good, atmosphere easy going, and excellent service. Recommended highly!

I looked for good barbecue from North Carolina, to Florida - from Tennessee to Missouri and tried dozens. Tonight at Main Street the ribs were perfect... meaty, just the right amount of fat, the bones were just barely getting soft on the ends, and the meat was perfectly tender. You'll have to ask for the hot sauce, (which comes in individual special little open-neck bottles) regular and smoked are on the table. I had the apple cider slaw, which, while not my favorite type, was really quite good and complimented the meat and sauces very well. For my second side dish, I had the mashed potatoes, which Main Street prepares with the skins on. This success of this dish really depends on the type of potato used, and being careful not to overcook them. This dish tasted fine, but mouth feel was a little pasty-gummy and the color was grey. If they were to switch to a dry, mealy potato this could be as good as the other choices I made. I did not try a dessert. The staff was very friendly and happy - you could tell they enjoyed working together as a team.

I give Main Street BBQ 3 stars because the meat they serve is fantastic - where they are lacking is their side dishes. Need a GOOD potato salad and GOOD coleslaw which they don't have.

Good BBQ and good sauce. Brisket was tender and the smoked sausage was very flavorful. Sides were obviously homemade and you could tell someone cared about the quality of the food. On top of the good food, the staff is extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you are in Durant it is definitely a place you should try.

Have eaten here several times over last year. Corn fritters and spicy deep fried green are fantastic! I enjoy the chopped beef meat better than the pulled pork. BBQ sauces are smokey and regular . Staff is very attentive and fast on getting food out. Two tvs on football for a Saturday afternoon!

Pretty good place to eat. Stopped by on our way through town and enjoyed a couple 3 Mini plates. The spicy fried green beans were great an out of the ordinary item that I really enjoyed - try them! Servers were nice but a little preoccupied with each other instead of the customers. Not to say service was bad in any way but it wasn't what it could have been with a touch more attention to the details of service.

I haven't ever gotten anything here I didn't like. Great service and food. Definitely the best place to get BBQ in Durant. My favorite is the catfish and they make a homemade tarter sauce that is amazing

We were in Durant 11/21/14 for my husband's birthday and needed a nice place to eat for dinner. We ended up at Main Street Barbecue thanks to a recommendation from the front desk clerk at Choctaw Inn. It's a cute little place in Downtown Durant. The first thing my husband and I noticed on the menu was $3.50 Shiner Bock, they bring it to you in a Giant frosty mug. We ordered the Jalapeno poppers for an appetizer and they were very good. Nice large Jalapenos and super tasty. For my entree I ordered brisket and sausage, with sides of mashed potatoes and fried okra. My husband ordered brisket and ribs. Both came with probably the best roll I have ever had. The servings were huge and we ordered the 1/2 pound plates. All the meats were super flavorful and tender, the sides were all delicious as well. To top it all off the service here was really great, everyone was very friendly and attentive. This will be our go to place when we are in town from now on, no more eating at the Casino. It was worth the short 5 minute drive. My only complaint is that I wish this place was in Dallas!

I'm a bit of a BBQ snob, but this place was really good. Got the three slider plate with ham, sausage and brisket. All very tasty and moist. Sweet potato fries were fantastic and barbecue beans were great as well. All around great meal!
