The mere fact that I'm writing about Mexican food in Chickasha, OK sounds like the start of a joke, considering the other places in town, but Temzacal is no joke on tasty food. Oddly, it's the shrimp civiche that really won me over. Not only do I not particularly care for shrimp, I try to keep my seafood eating to seasides. So here in the plains of OK I found the best shrimp dish I've ever had. This coming from someone who grew up on the Gulf coast! The service has always been good, and we go here a lot when doing business in town. It is one of the few eateries I can get a GF dish for one; it's amazingly good food and variety; the service is fantastic and the atmosphere is clean and relaxed. The margaritas aren't bad either. My companions love the sloppy beers, and they are mega lime sloppy. So do yourself a favor and go under the viaduct and enjoy some great Mexican food when you're traveling the plains of OK. Just goes to show, life is full of surprises and this one is a good one.

I had a really wonderful server who talked me into ordering a pork dish that they have on the menu, I believe it is a house specialty. It was very tasty. I also wanted to try the chile relleno so I ordered one à la cart. There was a fly in the middle of my relleno. I let my server know. I was grossed out enough that I didn't touch either dish again. I had eaten enough chips and enough of the relleno that I had had enough to eat. I did not touch the pork dish, other than to taste it. When my bill came, I was charged $22. My server apologized profusely about the fly, and he let me know he had told his boss what had happened. He said that he was not allowed to take anything off the bill but if I spoke to his boss on my way out, maybe he would comp one of the items or give me a coupon. After being charged full price for a chile relleno with a fly in it and a pork dish that I barely touched thanks to said fly grossing me out, I didn't really feel like tracking down his boss to see if "maybe" he will comp something. I was already inconvenienced and, quite frankly, grossed out. The very nice server followed me outside, asked if I was sure that I didn't want to speak to his boss. If the boss couldn't be bothered to come to my table to apologize and fix the issue then, I see no reason to chase him down. After all, I'm the customer! I left the server a 20%+ tip because he truly did the best job that he could. I am very understanding and forgiving when errors are accounted for and made right. This is as a good opportunity for the business to earn my business, instead, I will not be back.

This restaurant was recently responsible for a salmonella outbreak that caused a few people to become sick. According to the newspaper, the restaurant is "working to fix the sanitation issue." I think I will stay away...

Great food, out of the way but worth it. We really enjoyed the authentic Mexican food and Salsa.

Happened upon this amazing little gem on a long drive. As I often do, I launched the Yelp app and search for something good that wasn't a chain, and voila, this popped up as close by. So we got off the freeway in Chickasha -- a place I never would have gotten off the freeway otherwise -- and gave this place a try. It was a pleasant surprise, and well worth it. Excellent and authentic Mexican food, generous portions, good service, and reasonably priced. As good as anything you are going to find in the middle of BFE Oklahoma. Highly recommended!

Had 11 people in our party. The waitress was on top of it and handled it without any waits. Ordered our food and was out before could finish basket of chips. Drinks never got low as well as the chips.

We came here for my cousins graduation dinner. Being that this is a super small town we were very worried we weren't going to find a restaurant to sit 15 people being that her school just had a graduation of about 70 people and there are only a handful of restaurants in town and they don't take reservations. We called them as we were driving there to let them know we were on our way with a group and they were happy to hold a table in the back for us. Surprisingly the place has lots of room for large groups. My cousin has been here many times and loves it. Their strawberry margaritas were super yummy. They serve you complementary chips, salsa and queso at the table which was very nice. We all enjoyed our meals and the waitress was very friendly and knew my cousin my name. The only downfall was that the bar was super slow and we had to ask multiple times where are drinks were. I think we ended up paying for 3 pitchers of margaritas and never ended up getting them by the time we left. Other than that a good place to try if your driving through the little town.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
