Good, home made. They will let you eat with your dog on the patio. Had a burger and fries, greasy, but good. They served popcorn in adding bowl for an "appetizer". The popcorn was burnt, but lots of character in this little downtown Bethany place.

I wanted to try a new place for breakfast/brunch so I looked to yelp to show me a new place. I found this little gem of a restaurant tucked between a few antique stores on NW 39 expressway. I loved the atmosphere! It was very clean and the booths were comfy! They had plenty of seating and were busy for a Wednesday at 10:30 in the morning. The wait staff was wonderful! We sat and chatted for close to 2 hours and they kept our drinks full and didn't rush us. Sylvia is a wonderful waitress. The food was delicious. I had an open faced biscuit with sausage gravy scrambled egg and cheese with bacon and hash browns. I had the half order and it was plenty. The food all tasted fresh and made from scratch. I will definitely be back for lunch or dinner soon. I am looking forward to trying some of their hot dogs. Yummy!

This place is excellent for breakfast. I have been maybe 6 or 7 times, all for breakfast. Most everything is homemade and delicious. I have heard their lunch is great as well. Give it a try as you won't regret it.

I went here for lunch and had a pretty unique experience. Staff is friendly, very neat and clean inside. They give you a little doggy bowl of popcorn as an appetizer. I had a club sandwich with fries. The club sandwich was well made with quality ingredients and the fries were homemade thin cut fries. I love the thinner fries, home cut fries are typically thicker in my experience. I tried two pies, chocolate chip and coconut, both were wonderful ; I would love to come back and try breakfast sometime.

Down home, old time breakfast cafe (they do lunch too). If you want good stick to your ribs breakfast with plenty of options this is your place. Small and quaint but with awesome food. Prices are more than reasonable and service was good as well.

This place was affordable and clean. Friendly staff, but kinda seemed like they were going through the paces. Just kinda every day hum drum. I had the bedlam breakfast with bacon. Hash browns were very good, so was the bacon. The biscuits were a little over done, when I sliced my fork into them they were crunchy and hard to cut through. It seems they only have one waitress and one gofer (meaning she fills coffee, tends the register, and clears tables). I say this because when we had breakfast, my dad had decaf and I had regular. He had a refill but I wasn't ready. We did not see her again to refill until we were done and then she came around almost too often then because we were ready to leave. I will give them another chance because SDC has really good reviews. I just wanted to share my experience to all on yelp.

We were the strays today. I'm on vacation with three hungry kids and orders from the at work wife to not make a mess of anything since we are having the house cleaned and showing it often so we can sell. I spit polished and clothed the children best a dad can do on days off then loaded up in search of a pancake palace that can pander to these picky palettes. Around the lake for some scenery of the cold water waving, we stumbled into Bethany. Maybe fate or a higher power since across from a Christian college steered us here; either way we enjoyed every masticated morsel. I'm now finished with my fries and super ghost pepper spiced El Toro burger leisurely typing and listening to the other patrons chat about their holidays. The kids are sticky with syrup and all smiles. As soon as the coffee buzz kicks in, I'll find our next destination to occupy my minion. Come try this place. Anointed and blessed New Year to you all.

Wow! Such a great little mom and pop place in the perfect location. We happened upon this cafe one night for dessert and we headed back for breakfast the next morning! So yummy!

Burgers and Hot Dogs are great and made with pride and freshest ingredients. Save room for the pies, as they are fantastic. If you are there before they run out, ask for the day's special, as there will be a different offering each day, and they are Special. Breakfast is a treat, as you can get just about anything-eggs to order, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, hash browns, and breakfast meats. Recent menu item is steaks. Popular offering sure to please, and prices are right. A great addition to the town of Bethany and well worth the drive from all over the OKC area. Hardworking and friendly folks make this an enjoyable visit. Try it; you'll become a regular!

Breakfast of champions!! French toast is made with this amazing bread and you get three slices. Bacon was thick cut and a little crispy for me but bacon is one of those things that you enjoy what you get and don't complain. Coffee never ending and hot! Pancake and egg breakfast left her happy and smiling. Note to the one person who had a long wait at lunch. Orders can get lost sometimes so don't hesitate to ask about your food it it's a little late they would rather see it solved than you go away unhappy. Enjoy!!!

A cute breakfast/lunch place. Decided to finally try out this place after hearing about it in the gazette. You get a bowl of popcorn in a dog bowl when you first sit down! Warm and slightly salty. I ordered a normal hamburger and my friend ordered the El Toro burger. I looked around and would say 75% of people had burgers. Not too greasy, seasoned, and just a kick with the El Toro burger. Fries were fried to perfection, not too crispy and not soggy!

Stray dogs cafe is one cool little diner. I think they are just getting started so they have some pretty strange hours currently. I hope that will change in the future as I would love for it to be open later during the week days. Hubby & I checked it out "did a fly by" on our way to the airport. It's a really cute space. It's an adorable street front cafe with street front cafe seating although it was not open due to poor weather when we were there. There is not much parking in the front, your best bet is to park in the parking lots in the rear & come in thru the back door. We were told while we were there that they have steak dinners on the weekends & that they make all their own pies & bake all their own breads, except the burger buns, in house. I spotted them taking dinner rolls out the oven & they sure did smell good :) Hubby ordered a couple of hot dogs & some fries for lunch. The kraut dog came on a toasted piece of bread served in a bowl which was kinda weird even though hubby devoured it. The chili cheese coney came in a little basket with a small portion of tiny natural cut fries. Hubby said everything was excellent & well prepared. He finished it all. I ordered a Toro burger & chili cheese fries which also came in a little basket. The chili cheese fries were excellent & I loved that they were a tiny portion. However, eating them off a little piece of paper in a plastic basket was extremely difficult. The burger was a typically thin diner patty beautifully cooked & presented on the plate. It looked as fabulous as it tasted. However it came on a jalapeño bun that I did not care for. I never eat the bun anyway so it wasn't a big deal. I was told that you can substitute it for a regular bun just FYI. The jalapeño bun was very heavy & dense, even more so than say, a ciabatta roll. We ordered a small cup of Mac & cheese on the side bc we just wanted to taste it. We both did not care for it as it had pieces of fatty bacon inside & a very strange flavor. Very disappointing. The coffee was really good & the service even better. Our waitress was very nice & at one time got super busy taking care of several other tables. Another waitress passed by & saw my coffee getting low & without hesitation she came & filled my coffee! WOW! Hubby & I are looking forward to trying some other things on the menu, stopping by for a steak dinner & we would love to have a chance to sit on that lovely front patio & have breakfast. Hopefully they can increase their weekday hours & fix a few small things so that I may be able to up my rating in the near future. The hog dogs, burgers & fries were yummy & the service was top notch. Will return.

Amazing! A lot of favor packed into this small diner in downtown Bethany. My Nathan's Hot Dog was wrapped in BACON! Wowzers! It came on a very yummy out of the ordinary buttery bun. French fries are hand cut and delicious. Pie... Oh MY lets talk about pie... I ordered Choc Pie. My stomach was completely stuffed after my Hot Dog but I couldn't resist homemade pie. The crust was spot on, the choc pie filling was rich and creamy. Then they top it with whipped cream, mini morsels and powered sugar. My son ordered a burger which was big and tasty. My other son had a club sandwich which was large and full of meat. So in conclusion ....... You gotta try this place!

Excellent place to eat for comfort food. Everything is made fresh and cooked to order. Even the pies, which are very good, are made onsite daily!

I've been here four times and every time it's taken us so long to get our food. The last time I was there it took an HOUR to get a grilled chicken salad?! The manager could tell I was upset but just said "that's part of the lunch rush." Anyways, food is decent but be prepared to wait.

We drove here on a Saturday afternoon. It's right on 39th Expressway across from Southern Nazareth University, in the strip mall. (The tip about parking in the back &using the back door was great info!) This little dive could come right out of a James Dean movie, other than the big screen TV. The people who worked there were all so super kind. They greeted us with the dog food bowl of popcorn.....lol! Our waitress was great and continued to bring fresh drinks and check on us. Even the cook came out to make sure our orders were prepared correctly. LOVE IT! Everything was made right there. Other than our jalapeno buns on the bacon burgers (out of Houston, TX) might I say super spectacular? !?!?! My son has a thing for burgers, especially bacon cheeseburgers. He swears this is THE BEST BACON CHEESEBURGER he's had! He made me promise to take him back as a regular date. That's saying something. I had the grilled cheese and I'd recommend it on wheat. We finished with fresh coconut cream pie that was to die for! The pie alone would be enough for us to make the trip out here. No matter where you live in the metro area, this place is definitely worth the drive! I don't give up my give stars easily, they earned every last bit of it! My one and only minus.... if I must....the pure crust could be a bit better, if eaten alone.... lol!

Was looking for a mom and pop diner their sign was very obvious from driving down the street. It was in a very cute old town antique strip mall and gave it a very cozy home town feel. We were greeted promptly and given popcorn in a dog bowl for appetizer which was so cute. I inquired about the tabouli in their menu to which the server asked if I wanted to try it. I said sure! It was good, but not for me. We got the patty melt, fries, and sour kraut, and this AMAZING coconut cream pie made by our very own waitress. Everything tasted delicious. At the end when we were paying our tab an older gentleman came up to me and said here take these fries I don't think what you had was cooked the way I like them. I gladly took them (who wouldn't want free food?!) but honestly there was nothing wrong with the ones we had we both thought they were delicious. I appreciate the fact that they pride themselves in the taste of their food and their service was very very good. I felt very taken care of. Would definitely recommend and I will be coming back!

Came on Friday around 6. Not crowded at all. Restaurant is clean and looks pretty new. Ordered burgers and a hot dog. Burgers were juicy and really good. Sweet jalapeno bun was toasted and really had a great taste and texture. Hot dog was a Nathan's and my daughter said it was good. Fries were thin cut and the three of us shared one order. I love fries and these were obviously fresh and very, very good. And then the pie came. Chocolate cream and coconut cream. Fantastic. The crust was perfect and the portion was large. Save Room For Pie! Staff was super friendly and service was quick. I highly recommend this little burger joint. We'll be coming back to try breakfast.

Delicious! Always get the specials. Tonight they had catfish with coleslaw and fries, but noticed they had also begun their weekend steak special that looked amazing as well. Great service and quality ingredients.

Stopped in for lunch this week. Buttered popcorn as an appetizer and we split the Blue Cheese Mushroom Burger and the Coney Special. The Coneys were good, Nathan's Hot Dogs, but the Burger was great. The restaurant is clean, service good and food well above average. Bethany has needed a place like this for a while. A tip: use the alley parking, come in the back door and don't worry about backing out onto NW 39th Expy.

Order the Pancakes !! The food was wonderful ! Staff was friendly , I would definitely come back ! I'm not a breakfast person but this place may have changed my opinion about breakfast for sure ! The staff was nice enough to make the kids chocolate chip pancakes, which were not on the menu.. The kids were excited beyond words. Thank you for the wonderful food and service.

I had breakfast a couple of days ago...really good, great bacon. The cafe is clean and the staff is very friendly. I noticed the pies after breakfast and that's what brought me back today. The pies were slices of homemade heaven! Chocolate, coconut and strawberry were the choices today and my girl and I shared a piece of each...so tasty! We also took a couple of slices home, a coconut and a key lime for later tonight. We will be coming back! I highly recommend the Stray Dog Cafe!

Tried this place today for lunch with my husband. I do NOT recommend it. The burgers were like a patty from McDonald's and the buns were toasted to the point they were like chewing leather, had burn marks on them, and tasted equally burnt. I had a chili burger and asked if it was open face or just a burger with chili on it before I ordered it. She said it was open face. It came as a regular burger with chili on it in a plastic basket, so it was nearly impossible to eat with a fork and knife. The chili was gross. It wasn't like any canned chili I've ever had, but it didn't seem homemade either, and I couldn't decide if it was an ingredient in the chili or the onions on it that made it taste like something had gone south, but something was definitely not right. The fries were decent and it was a good thing that they bring bowls of popcorn while you wait for your food because that ended up being the highlight of our lunch. Also, it took a while to get menus and the staff wasn't very friendly or attentive (and there were two cooks and 3 waitresses working, and it wasn't very busy). When we paid she asked how our meal was, and we told her, but she didn't seem too concerned about it. Stray Dog Café...it might be good enough for a stray dog, but I wouldn't recommend it for humans. If you want good diner food, go to Woodbridge.

My wife and I ate at Stray Dog Cafe today while we were in Bethany. We went there on a recommendation from a friend and we were very impressed. We got there about half an hour before they closed at 2:00 and there was only one table available. It was packed with people. They also have a very nice patio outside. We each ordered hamburgers and fries. The fries were really, really good. I ate them before starting on my burger because I love my french fries to be hot and they were. The burger was done up perfectly and the buns are excellent. The buns are toasted on the grill before serving. The meat quality was great. I had a bacon burger and the bacon is not paper thin like many places. It is a very comfortable and relaxing place and the price is just right. We got there just before quitting time and my wife ordered coffee and I ordered a cold drink. They brought my drink and told my wife the coffee would be a little later because they were making a fresh pot. We didn't realize it was quitting time or we wouldn't have ordered coffee because we were probably the last to use out of that pot. I ordered a piece of Key Lime pie and it was very good. My wife doesn't like Key Lime pie because it is normally too sweet or too limey. She loved this pie. The new owners, Susie and Joe, visited with us as they did with others as they could. It was very busy in there. I give this new business 5 stars and it is perfectly suited for Bethany.
