My friend and I stumbled upon Wei Wei one night as we both had a craving for Pho. Being a college kid and from a different city, I didn't think Toledo had much to offer on the food front. I'm so glad we found it! The Pho here is great. The meat is always very tender. The service is quick. We've made it a point to come every Wednesday, which we have dubbed "Wei Wei Wednesday". For 8.95 you can get a heaping bowl of eye of steak Pho (T9). My friend never finishes hers but I always do! The environment is the best. I believe it is family owned and I love that! They are very inviting and the cook (and the mother, I assume) is awesome! She remembers us and always comes over to speak and joke with us. I recently had the shrimp lo mein (Shocker I tried something new) and it was AWESOME! I would definitely recommend Wei Wei to everyone.

So far it's the best Chinese food I've found in Toledo. I haven't been to many others though. Compared to Portland's Chinese food scene it's pretty lackluster, but I wouldn't expect the same here; so given the circumstances it's up to snuff. My 4 mark is mainly based on the time it took for the meal itself, and the lack of spiciness to my dish. I ordered Szechuan Chicken extra spicy, figuring they catered to your typical American audience (and they do), but even extra spicy barely had any kick to it. I'll go in next time and ask for... Super spicy I guess? I don't know, extra extra spicy maybe.

Ate here for the first time today. The outside is definitely nothing to look at but the food was great. My family ordered general tso's, mongolian delight, beef lo mein, a spring roll, and potstickers. Everything was awesome. The potstickers were the best I had ever had. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant actually played chinese music! Would definitely eat here again. One of the best chinese restaurants I've ever been to!

Favorite Chinese Restaurant that I have ever been to. Fantastic food, with authentic feel. The decor is not phenomenal, but the food is top notch. Highly Recommended.

Had an hour to kill before picking up my daughter at her school a mile or so away. I was in the area and remembered someone mentioning this place. I was in the mood for a Hong Kong Noodle Soup, so I sopped in. As has been mentioned, the place is devoid of curb appeal. It looks like a bunker on a missile range. A bunker across from an adult bookstore featuring 25-cent movies. It was 1 pm and there were two cars in Wei Wei's stone parking area and five huge pick-up trucks in the bookstore's lot. I had a chuckle. As you enter, there is a dry, stained multi-tank fish display. It does not appear to have seen fish, water or a scrubbing in a decade or so. Wow. Yet, I still continued to go forward in search of a good bowl of noodles. The place is a little dark, spartan and poorly laid out. It did not smell dirty, look dirty or offend in any way except for poor feng shui. I was seated and ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup. What I received was an answer to a prayer. Righteous noodles! A hot, clear, clean broth with a wonderful chicken and marrow flavor. Oodles of noodles. About 8 wonton dumplings and some nice, crisp stalks of baby bok choy. Simple and delicious. It was not quite as good as the bowl of heaven I received at New Empire months ago (see the review), but it was $3 cheaper and still a 7.5 on the Ollie's Noodles scale. I may be early to pick up my daughter more often. At any rate, I will be back. maybe to try the pan-fried noodles. that is another of my go-to dishes, and I've read things....

Had the spicy fish house special and was quite pleased. Super tender and just the right amount of spiciness in the broth. Good fast service. Ambience could be nicer but who really cares that much about that

Had pho twice here in a week :) really yummy~ I like to ask for extra bean sprouts, they are light on the additional stuff. Sauce is in a potted container i.e. spicy and hoisin so don't expect a bottle.

This is the best Chinese restaurant I have been to so far in Toledo. Me and my boyfriend went there on Sunday night, and we ordered a Wonton noodle, Singapore Mei Fun and 3 cup Chicken. All three dishes were delicious and traditional. Highly recommend this restaurant to people who like to have some authentic Chinese dishes! Also don't get surprised if you see an adult audio shop before you see the restaurant.

Ordered Almond chicken, and the breading was soggy. The owner came out and blamed it on the new flour they are using and said there was no fixing this issue. She took the plate back into the kitchen untouched and still charged me for the meal. Very dissapointing since this was a weekly stop for me. Never again.

We went here for dinner this week. The building/location (near adult book store)/decor is all less than desirable. However menu is large and they have booze. We shared lettuce wraps (great), sweet & sour chicken (good) Mai fun (ok) egg drop soup (great) and hot tea (great). The service was ok but the waiter eventually warmed up to us and he turned out to be funny. I would definitely go back. Great for a casual mid week dinner, but I wouldn't recommend for a weekend romantic date night.

This is the benchmark with which I base all of my Chinese restaurant experiences. When the Chinese exchange students say this is their area favorite for traditional Chinese food you know it's good! I have since graduated and move away from the area, but have driven back a time or two just for this restaurant. The owner is super friendly and always smiling! He made the experience that much better during each visit- dine in & takeout. I have to admit, I never ordered off the American menu but every single item I've tried off the Chinese menu was outstanding. Their 'ants on the tree' is to die for. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to duplicate the recipe at home several times. Lions head meatballs were also a group favorite. If your visiting Toledo or just looking to try a different Chinese place give this place a try. You will not be disappointed!!!

Being an Asian from California, their Thai spicy soup noodle is really tasty. I gave four because they served out hot water with straw in it.

Did not expect to find this gem. I'm from NY so got a pretty high standard for Chinese food. This place is really authentic and prices are reasonable. Have to try it if you are into authentic Chinese!

What this restaurant lacks in ambiance, it makes up with how excellent the food is. We've visited twice and have had great, consistent food each time. I enjoy the Szechuan chicken (very spicy) and my husband really likes the pho, which is not only delicious but is also a beautiful dish. Portions are also pretty big. Service can be so-so. On our second visit, a staff member had their children in another room and they were pretty loud. Regardless, I would definitely recommend this place.

Great service. Very hospitable and helpful. Had 2 punch bowls and they tasted wonderful. Had the miso soup and had alot of flavor and tofu. Had the Kung Po and Triple Delight entrees. Flavor was out of this world. Get alot for what ya pay for. Our bill was under $55 with 2 punch bowl drinks you would get at a comedy show, 2 entrees, soup and egg rolls. I will definately return!!!!!

Great place directly across from a 25 cent "adult movie" place. I drove an hour to come here and it was worth it. VERY friendly staff that will help you with the "Chinese" menu for which you should ask.

Wei Wei serves the best Chinese food in Toledo. The house specials are excellent, especially Basil Chicken and Beef shortribs with with black pepper sauce. Even standard Cantonese and Szechuan dishes are made with fresh ingredients and sauces. I love it when they have fresh mussels with black bean sauce. I will order it if it's available. It is delicious! Service is friendly and responsive. They serve Chinese beers as well as American. We get up this way often to visit family and eat at Wei Wei every time, sometimes days in a row. Strongly recommend.

I should've known I just won't get good pho here. After being disappointed with Pho Vietnam, I came here based on the excellent reviews. The broth didn't have much flavor, and that's what makes good pho. The onions in the soup were scarce, the plate of herbs was very skimpy, and did not include any basil. Again, Mexican type cilantro -no culantro. The main dining area seemed somewhat clean and neat, but I could see in the details that things weren't kept up - dirty walls, broken glass door by the patio and bathrooms, used napkins on the floor in the back. Those things make you concerned as to how the area you don't see you, the kitchen, is kept. Anyway, I gave this place three stars, because the person I was with ordered a lunch special that was absolutely delicious, and at a great price. He got the spicy and numb flounder. They also had a good variety of other lunch specials at good prices, so I would go back to try one of those instead. Also, the service was nice and attentive.

I ordered the wonton noodle soup. It was very good and packed with good flavor and wontons. Most Chinese places only give a few wontons but this place gives a lot and the price is spot on (cheapest soup on the menu). I also ordered a Thai tea. It's a little pricy $3.95 for a drink and only comes with a little boba. In CA can get it way cheaper and with much more boba. All in all I would definitely recommend this place, but next time I will skip the boba drinks.

Great Pho and the staff is nice but may not be particularly attentive. However the Pho is excellent and it's portion size is fantastic. My family had enjoyed the more tradition Chinese food offerings but did not exactly rave about them.

Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. We dropped in on our way back to Indianapolis, and we were surprised with the great service and wonderful food. If we come back to the Toledo area for anything, we will probably drop in again! Also they have BUBBLE TEA!

  • Harvey T.

After going there I ordered some spicy soup seafood and after eating that I found it to be pretty good and the seafood portions were pretty reasonable and the taste was okay. I also ordered the shrimp fry rice which came in a large size to go and was disappointed that in the whole container it only had 11 small shrimps total and I will not be ordering that again. Overall taste was okay but I probably won't go there anymore.

Not much to look at, but each time I eat here I have a wonderful meal. The menu is extensive and it's hard to decide but I don't think you can go wrong with any choice

  • David K.

Best pork fried rice I have ever had. I know fried rice is not exactly a challenging dish, but it was so well done, with lots of sweet and savory onion bits, enough egg to make it filling, and wonderful pink bits of pork all through the large take out container... Enough for two, at only 6.95.... Excellent!

  • Tim B.

Wei Wei has decent food, however they get docked one star due to the following: I ordered crispy shrimp as an appetizer. I was quite surprise to see "cocktail sauce" served with this dish at a Chinese Restaurant. C'mon, this isn't Long John Silvers! Completely unacceptable. The owner explained that this is how people like them. Well if that is the case Toledo, then go to Red Lobster and get your basic popcorn shrimp dipped in horsey-ketchup. This is an Asian establishment! Give Wei Wei a little bit more credit and respect! At any rate, the owner provided me with a house soy-ginger sauce, which was far more appropriate for the venue. Aside from that, my service and entrée were excellent.

  • Bryan K.

Make sure to ask for both menus!!! Both the food and the service was worth it by far. I had tea which was served in a real cast iron pot and started with the Szechuan wonton which had a very sweet n spicy zig, perfect!!! The hot pot ordered was the Thai Spicy Tom Yum Seafood Stew and was filled with seafood galore words are lacking for such a hidden gem within Toledo. Who would ever known... Right? This is a must try place for all you locals but when I'm back in town this place I will be returning. :)

Great food and great service. Thai spicy wings, hot and sour soup, and crab Rangoon were all delicious

  • Ryan B.

Wei Wei, for my money, has emerged as Toledo's foremost Chinese restaurant, though, they aren't limited to just that. Vietnamese, Thai, and maybe Korean all make tasty appearances on the menu. The hot & sour soup is the best in Toledo, and the number of delicious entrees are too many to list. The chicken with black bean sauce is fantastic, the pho is excellent, the orange chicken, general tso's, green chicken curry - all amazing. But, my favorite is the Singapore Mi Fun (sp?), an amazing heaped noodle dish with thin noodles, lots of fresh veggies, and tossed shrimp, pork, and chicken. Wei Wei also offers two kinds if chicken wings. Forget what you know about chicken wings, these are going to blow your mind. Seriously, they're excellent. Do yourself a favor and get to Wei Wei as soon as you can. In terms of atmosphere, they continue to remodel and it only gets better each time. The place is looking fantastic.

Okay, Wei Wei is now officially my favorite Chinese restaurant in Toledo. As other reviewers stated, don't let the outside put you off. The inside is clean and tidy, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food at Wei Wei's is amazing! On this visit I tried the Wei Wei Special with fish. It was cooked in a spicy sauce and served in a huge bowl with bok choy and a mixture of fresh herbs. Scrumptious!

The best I've had since I moved to the area. Just amazing. Everything else has paled in comparison. Good service. High quality. Authentic. They won my vote for number 1.

I'm not really sure why people love this place. I came with my mom on a random week night. the whole place smells odd...like some moldy bathroom. We had some noodles and they were very underwhelming. The owner's kids were running around in the restaurant the whole time we were there. I definitely would not come back here again based on the smell of the restaurant.

So I'm pretty sure that this is the only place in Toledo that you can get pho and they also have boba. BOBA: As far as the boba goes, the drink itself was good, but the bubbles were a little mushy (but they said they just made them?) and weren't the best, but considering there aren't any places where you can get boba, it'll do. I wish that they have a bigger selection of drink flavors- there are only 4 freeze flavors and i think 3 teas. Food: the pho is pretty good. The chicken with garlic sauce was really good! and the shrimp fried rice was decent. The waitress was really nice but she seemed a little flighty. She forgot to give us napkins, spoons, and the sauce for the pho but was very apologetic when we asked for it. Also, pay attention to your bill. The sign outside advertises 7.95 for beef pho, but I was charged 9.50. I didn't realize until I had already paid and left. I'm pretty sure we were overcharged for the fried rice and shrimp pho as well.

Love Wei Wei . Always fresh and well prepared. The tofu with cilantro is awesome !! Oyster hot with ginger and scallions wonderful when available. Very nice owners who make everyone feel welcome!

Wei Wei is my family's go-to spot for authentic Chinese food in Toledo. The owners and the servers all know to give us the Chinese menu, rather than the Chinese-American menu (although there is plenty of overlap on the two). The staff is always friendly and courteous, and the food is always delicious. During those dark years when there were no Vietnamese restaurants in Toledo, Wei Wei was the only place in town to get pho. At the time of this writing, there are two Vietnamese restaurants, but we still like getting the pho at Wei Wei on occasion. We also like the salt and pepper squid, the spicy fish with pickles, the crispy tofu, the tofu with soy sauce... Actually, we haven't gotten anything we haven't liked. Be forewarned that the beef brisket might not be ready for lunch, since it takes a while to cook. Also, the bubble drinks are more of super-sweet bubble smoothies or slushies than bubble tea, so they're not my thing. It looks a little scary on the outside, but it's well worth taking a chance on. One of my top five favorite restaurants in Toledo!

Pho! This is the 3rd place I have tried pho in the Toledo area and was pretty pleased with my experience. It's a "hole in the wall" restaurant known for their Chinese food so don't judge the restaurant by its storefront, nor decor inside. With a few wooden tables and booths, it's not the most fabulous place to have dinner and drinks with the girlfriends. But they do have great pho! Staff was extremely friendly, hospitable and accommodating. Definitely a place I see myself dining at frequently this winter. Tried the Pho Special and ate...all of it....which doesn't always happen. Also tried the crab rangoons which hit the spot. Will definitely have to return to try their pan-fried noodles. And bubble tea! (Yes! They have it!)

I came here with a friend that was visiting from Ann Arbor. We decided to try this place out but almost passed on it when we got here. It looked dirty and a little sketch. However, I'm so happy we didn't. The food was awesome. So good, in fact, that we came back the very next day! I ordered the Szechuan boiled fish (the first day). I love Szechuan food and this is probably my favorite dish of all time. Every time I go to a Chinese restaurant, this is the first thing I look for on the menu. I pretty much baseline each restaurant based on this dish and I was not disappointed. However, it did have iceberg lettuce in it instead of the usual napa cabbage. That was a little off-putting, but other than that, it was delicious. My friend got the beef brisket with radish, and it came in the cutest dish with a ladle. Both dishes were tasty, generously portioned, and very reasonably priced. We had enough leftovers for another meal. And, they have bubble tea! (The taro freeze was pretty good.) We both got the pho special the next day and it was okay. I say only okay because it wasn't anything special--just your average pho. But I guess if you consider that it's a Chinese restaurant and not a Vietnamese one that serves only pho, it was pretty good. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant to friends. It does have Americanized dishes (General Tso chicken, fried rice, etc. ), but I would say this is definitely one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in Toledo.

This is the only place in Toledo I know of that serves crispy pan-fried noodles similar to a dish I crave from a restaurant in Chicago's Chinatown. Besides serving the most authentic Chinese food in Toledo, the staff are attentive and friendly. Note: Don't let the outer appearance of the restaurant deceive you. Allow the food a chance to speak for itself!

+1 for being the sole pho serving restaurant in Toledo. Pho in a Chinese restaurant, you ask? Desperate times call for desperate measures. +1 for being the only place that serves boba in Toledo. Sorry, Balance, your boba is more like slushie gone wrong. +

After 10 years in NYC with access to all different kinds of Chinese food, it's such a fresh breath of air to have Wei Wei in my hometown of Toledo, OH. Not only are there very special and tasty Vietnamese and Thai favorites on this diverse menu, you can order from the authentic Chinese menu to satisfy your cravings for something truly special. The food is stupendous, the portions are HUGE and it's all meant to be shared. They're not afraid to make any dish super-spicy and will gladly educate you if you have any questions. I love the hot and sour soup and fish with ginger and scallions! I have also had the spicy chicken feet and the Pho!!! However...my favorite thing about Wei Wei is the service and the sincerely amazing people who keep this place running. Sherri is a darling and watching her children grow up has been a treat over the years. This is the reason to go out to dinner!!!! At Wei Wei, EVERYONE is treated like family. It's the reason MY entire family spends the night before Thanksgiving at this restaurant year after year. I look forward to having many more meals there and recommend this place to anyone as THE BEST CHINESE in the 419!!!! Seriously, give it a try!!! You won't regret!

Don't go to a Chinese restaurant for Vietnamese food. I guess that kind of goes without saying, but there aren't many Vietnamese restaurants around (I've actually only been to Pho Vietnam for their 4-star pho). The first bite was good, but this could be an artifact of it being cold outside. Also, I haven't had pho in like 2 months. It was hard to finish the bowl though! The helping was a decent size. Service was the same as usual. Don't forget they have the best Chinese food around here though!

From 7/15/2011 (getting though all of the drafts I have written): I am from Southern California, and I know great Chinese food. However, this place isn't bad - probably among some of the best I have away from the west coast. It was definantely better than a place in Colorado I ate at that claimed to be one of the top 100 Chinese restraunts in America (lucky if they were top 10,000). This place had great prices on the lunch special, and nice portions. Eggrolls were tasty and fresh, as was the General Tao Chicken (which I had them make even more spicy than normal). I also had a couple bites of someone's Hunan Chicken and it was pretty good. As others have said in their reviews, don't let the location of this place or the exterior stop you from visiting, you wont be disappointed. If I was local, this would be where I'd come to get a Chinese food fix.

Hidden gem, fo' shizzle. Was in Maumee for a brunchy deal and the place that I will not mention was packed to the gills. Everyone awkwardly standing in their Sunday best trying not to act like they could rip someones arm off if they cut in line. So we scooted out of there and all of a sudden I remember about Wei Wei. I had never been, but heard from some hipster foodies with cray facial hair and some sweet, sweet Chucks that Wei Wei (and I thought it was Wei Wei Noodle?) was damn tasty. So we headed down Reynolds for Chinese nirvana. It's a basic looking place décor-wise, but then everything gets all glam and fab because the menu.....Oh that menu. I could have perused all day long. I was a bit apprehensive because sometimes a huge menu means not very good food. That is not the case here. I wanted something out of the ordinary, but since it was my first time, a Wei Wei virgin if you will, I settled for a staple; Orange Shrimp. The waitress was personable and friendly and seemed on her game. The food came in a few minutes and I scarfed it down in record time. I could not stop eating, I mean, my fork was a blur. I can't even remember what my friend had ordered because I really didn't care at this point. I don't even know if we looked at each other or spoke. It was me and my shrimp and my martini. What an incredible lunch that day, the kind that come few and far between. I can't say enough about this place. Go, get whatever - I am sure it will rock.

This place is the real deal. Mike, the chef, knows his stuff. My favorite is the mei fun noodles with shrimp. Get it spicy or ask for chili sauce. So glad it re-opened after a remodel and new patio. It's a family run place so Mike and his wife are always there as well as their children. It doesn't bother us - introduce yourself and get to know the family. If you're feeling adventurous ask Mike for his recos and he'll hook you up.

Solid find! Tried the family style tofu and spicy numb chicken, both were great. Whole flounder was not quite as great but decent. Don't let the dingy exterior dissuade you, the interior is nice.

Super yummy food. Totally underrated and don't be fooled by its less optimal decor. The outside of it looks dingy, and it's right next to a adult video store, but the inside is fine, and food is delicious. We got there, and my boyfriend was like, ugh, let's go somewhere else, but I insisted we try it out because of the Yelp ratings - and we're definitely glad we stayed. Hot and sour soup was a little too spicy for me, but still delicious. Egg rolls were superb, portions are very large and easily shareable for two people. We shared a dish from the authentic menu along with two soups and three egg rolls - delicious and we couldn't even finish all the food. It was also cheap, total came out to be $21 for two people after all the soups and appetizers. The entrees are family style sizing, in that it's better to order a few for the table and share it with the group, 3 dishes will easily feed 5 people, and 1 was more than enough for the two of us after a $1.25 egg roll each. I highly recommend the authentic menu - frankly I think it's a waste to order American dishes like Sweet and Sour Chicken at a Chinese restaurant that actually provides real Chinese food. We had the beef with black bean sauce (which had a ton of vegetables in it as well but didn't mention it on the menu). This is another important note, while most menu items say simple titles like: beef with basil, the dish really does include many other vegetables all stir-fried together that the menu doesn't mention. Basically they're only listing the top seasoning ingredient and the meat on the menu. Anyhow, try this place - you won't regret it :) Oh and I gave 4 rather than 5 starts because this is a typical good Chinese restaurant, and while this is very good Chinese food (miles above buffets or crappy take out places) - this is simply one of the many good Chinese restaurants rather than being the only one. Also outside decor looks shady and hot and sour soup was too spicy for me.

Thanks to fellow Yelpers, we now have a Chinese restaurant to go to in Toledo. What a find. Today was our first time there and I can't tell you how much we enjoyed it. The hot and sour soup was spot on. I enjoyed the Chicken with Basil Black Bean Sauce, and my dining companions enjoyed the Beef With Garlic Sauce and Chicken Fried Rice respectively. Each dish was outstanding. While I wouldn't call what we had authentic Chinese, it certainly was very tasty and, without a doubt the best Chinese Food in Toledo. We can't wait to return to try other items on the menu - as there just may be some authentic dishes to be had. The menu is extensive and you will find it difficult to make an entree decision. Yes, the location is not the greatest but the food, service and cleanliness certainly were. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Alright. I came back. Next day. Had to try the pho. So what do I think? Best pho I ever had? No. Best pho in Toledo? Likely. The broth was actually pretty good, the meat/noodles were fine. Not all the herbs I like for pho was brought out, and the hoison sauce came in jars. Srirachia wasn't provided, just chili oil. But for a pho craving in Toledo, it does hit the spot. Slightly more expensive than I'd like, but they do have a variety of combinations to try out, so you can customize your pho the way you want, even vegetarian. My friends tried out some dishs off the extensive new menu (by extensive, I think there are nearly 200 options) which he also gave 4 out of 5 stars (compared to the Midwest). Solid spicy szechuan dishes, some spicy dishes I don't know the name for b/c he only knows the name in Chinese. Overall, they were happy to be there, as was I. Regarding the bubble tea, they didn't have any bubbles again, so the jelly was fine. But Just be prepared if you come that they might not have tapioca to satisfy that boba craving.

Family owned, quaint atmosphere, nicely poured mixed drinks, lots of seafood options, friendly and attentive staff with a large menu filled with a ton of variety. I recommend asking for the chinese menu. Everything is good, but the chinese menu has more freshness and a few surprises. Definitely avoid the Pu Pu platter. It's way way way too much fried food, and will destroy your appetite. Highly recommended.

Wei Wei is one of my favorite restaurants in Toledo. I order their hot and sour soup by the quart, it is a staple in my refrigerator. The staff is always accommodating and friendly and I have yet to even have a mediocre meal there. I'm so glad they're open again. Order anything, you'll love it!!

3.5 stars.... The most authentic chinese restaurant in toledo! It's got a classic "you have to try really hard to find the place" location for all good authentic asian restaurant. Kudos... this deserves a 4 star. The only TRUE chinese restaurant in Toledo (dinner time)... again, deserves a 5 star! But what brings their score down? The portion is small for it's pricey menu (i'm talking about dinner menu). And the price is 1.5x more expensive than what i'm accustomed to in So Cal... again.. this would be a mediocre restaurant in so cal, so it gets a 2 star for its "unreasonable price range and small portion." Now that being said, it is in toledo.... so factor that in... it gets a 3.5 star.. IF YOU'RE STUCK IN TOLEDO, AND IS REALLY CRAVING FOR CHINESE FOOD... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON OTHER RESTAURANT.... COME TO THIS ONE!...

Except for one thing, I love Wei-Wei. The service is friendly and the menu extemely diverse, and almost everything I've ever had there has tasted great. However, I won't eat there ever again. I was diagnosed with Celiac six months ago, and have been "glutened" at Wei-Wei twice now, from dishes the waitress thought would have no wheat and no soy sauce (contains wheat) in them. The pho beef soup contains gluten; I ELISA-tested it after eating there the last time. :-(

Non-americanized chinese food in Toledo... check. This place is a hole in the wall that can easily be missed as it sits right next to the adult bookstore. Many times I've passed by it and not taken much notice until this past year. The menu is pretty extensive, there's also a chinese menu for the adventurous/natives. It contains anything from intestines to chicken feet and everything in between. You can order the standard americanized-chinese fare here but you can also find very authentic chinese food here. The pho here is ok... nothing special, but it is the only place i know of in toledo that serves pho... so it is what it is if you're up for some adventurous authentic chinese fare, try their FuQiFeiPian, essentially beef and intestines tossed in a red chili oil mixture along with some pickled veggies, delicious! but pretty spicy.

I love their lettuce wraps and the pho is pretty good too. The staff are very nice and their food has never disappointed me.

This is some of the best Asian cuisine that I have ever had. The Wonton soup is excellent. The General Tso is cooked well and has a good flavor. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the eggrolls. Go there for the food and not the decor.

Easily the best Chinese food I've had in the Toledo area. It's located in a weird strip-mall district of southeast Toledo, but appearances can be deceiving. And when they put that little cartoon red pepper next to dishes that might be spicy, they are NOT fronting. The Triple Delight I had was delicious and spicy as balls. If you're hungry and in the area, make this your first destination.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. The exterior is not a lot to look at, but the food served inside is DELICIOUS. A big bowl of pho will cure what ails ya! Walnut Shrimp sounds strange, but is decadent! My friend always gets boba and really enjoys every sip! Take a chance and let them make you something!

I wanted to try Domo-- they're closed. Went next door to Wei Wei Seafood, I'm glad I did. Pho is great, beef & rice noodle soup - Thai spices. Good Good

Great chinese food, and some tasty Vietnamese options as well. We always schedule a trip to Wei Wei whenever we drive down to visit the Toledo zoo. Great fresh noodle dishes, and the only place in the reasonable-reachable area where I can get my Geoduck sashimi ' (MAKE SURE you call ahead for the unusual dishes!!) craving assuaged (ah, I do miss the Pacific Northwest sometimes!) We've been pleased with any of the seafood dishes we've tried, the 2'ce cooked pork was succulent, as were the black bean oysters. The restaurant itself is a bit down-at-heel in appearance, but don't let that fool you. If you're in Toledo, pay them a visit.

I miss the owners of this restaurant. Their food was amazing, spectacular just so much like home. They have a traditional way of cooking. My fiance still says they have the best Pho Ga he's ever had. I couldn't find one thing on the menu that wasn't good. Sometime's I wish I was still in college so I could be in Toledo and eat at Wei Wei's every weekend!

As a person from California and HK, I have experienced a LOT of Chinese food. To be honest, the 2 star rating is not for the food, it is for the service. I have been here 3 times before and I came back for a 4th recently. The service on the 4th time prompted me to write my first review for Yelp and so here I am. I went with a group of people and we each individually ordered our own plate. Normally when in a group (6 people), one would think that the food comes out all at the same time. One person received his dish first for a good 10 minutes before 4 more dishes came out. 5 minutes later, the 6th dish came out. However, the 5th dish was incorrect as my friend ordered tofu instead of chicken in his red curry. They took the dish back and came out saying that they could not replace the chicken with tofu when they clearly stated when writing down the order that they could replace with tofu. So as 5 of us awkwardly had our food finishing up at different times (the 5th person's dish could not be eaten because he had no silverware from the waitress), my vegetarian friend ordered a random dish (pad thai with tofu) that the waitress pointed to on the menu. Overall, the experience was terrible and the service was lacking. For those just looking for a food review, I have tasted the pho, the pan fried noodles, hot and sour soup, and pad thai. DON'T order the pho. For Toledo pho, make your own, go to Pho Vietnam, or a place called Wing Station on McCord on the weekends (call first). The pho was very watered down. And you might as well put sprinkle some salt in the water for your pho noodles. The pan-fried noodles with chicken was decent. 3 stars. It is very basic and tastes like something I could make at home. The noodles are thinner egg noodles and are supposed to be crisply (pan-fried) on the bottom while a gravy of chicken and vegetables goes on top. The noodles could have been pan-fried better (I could have done it in my kitchen). Check out QQ Kitchen on Secor for the correct pan-fried noodles. The gravy was basic and got the job done but I could have made it at home. The Hot and sour soup was quite delicious. Drink it hot and don't let it settle as the soup becomes watery if you let it sit on your table. For Toledo, the hot and sour soup from Wei Wei is an above average soup. It was delicious. To improve the soup, the tofu could have been more fresh. DON'T order the pad thai. I had a bite of my friend pad thai and it tasted awful. Stick with Chinese food. The prices at this place are not out of the ordinary. They are a tad higher than other restaurants but what can you do when you are in Toledo?

For the money you spend you get a lot of their awesome food, and must try there bubble tea! The location of Wei Wei isn't in a bad part of Toledo, but it is in weird location (next to an Adult Video store ).

What can I say, this is probably THE best Chinese food restaurant in Toledo. If you want authentic, come here. If you want amazing and kind service, come here. If you want veggies served stir fry that aren't brown and tired but crisp and tasty, come here. This place has become a staple for friends visiting out of town, and for my local friends and myself as well. There's something about this place that makes you come back beside just for the food. The wait staff is attentive and relaxed and if you're lucky you'll meet Sherry who manages at the front counter. She'll remember your favorite meals and always have a nice hello. If you're adventurous, ask for the Chinese menu, and don't be afraid to try something new, the wait staff will help you pick something out. The atmosphere is relaxed and though I've heard some people wish they would remodel, part of the charm of going to the restaurant is how it is set up, and the food is wonderful so it really isn't a bother. I prefer the Pho here to any restaurant in Toledo, just based on the fact that the meat is fresh and of a better grade than when I have sampled at other local restaurants that specialize in Pho. You don't get the stringy, fatty meat, it's sliced thin and depending on the dish served raw and cooked from the heat of your soup. Try the Kung Pao chicken for spice and ginger, the Moo Goo Gai Pan for something a bit lighter, the Garlic Chicken for...well garlic, the Mongolian Beef for a dark sweet sauce. The Cantonese chicken lettuce wraps are excellent for a starter! I've never been disappointed here. They have a website now, so you can find the menu! weiweinoodle at dot com.

As a native of China (and Sichuan, more specifically), I wouldn't have expected to find authentic Chinese in a desolate part of Toledo. But surprisingly, this place has friendly staff and some quite authentic stuff. The exterior looks pretty dumpy, but don't let that stop you from going in. Ask for their Chinese menu, which is different from their regular menu. Beyond the Americanized Chinese of the regular menu (and Pho, for some reason) they have quite a few Sichuanese dishes on there. We ordered Mala beef brisket (tender and fragrant), stirfried Chinese broccoli (garlicky and fresh), and saliva chicken AKA mouthwatering chicken (just the right amount of spice). We were just passing through the area, but it's good to know that there's solid, authentic Chinese food around in places like this.

Food is just delicious. Tasty, generous, and surprising variety. Hospitality is simply exceptional. I dined with a friend who does not use vision, and Wei Wei staff exceeded our expectations: Respectful, helpful, and dignified. I wish I came here sooner!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
