In short, after reading so many wonderful reviews The Seasons "falls short of expectations". I was sadly disappointed. The atmosphere is not romantic, there are large metal vents in the ceiling which are very distracting. The menu variety is limited and small. We had fried brie which was mediocre and unimpressive. I had the winter salad with a white chocolate sauce which was sadly the most impressive part of the meal. It was wonderful. The rest was not. When I spend 100.00+ on dinner and drinks expect something better than I can make at home. I ordered the chicken Marsala. It wasn't dry but it wasn't flavorful and again unimpressive. Very sad looking on my plate. My husbands lamb curry looked like dog food on rice but tasted better than mine. The drinks were strong but not great. Bad actually... The chocolate martini was the best one. Despite horrible dining we had fun its all about the company you keep and making the best of a horrible....well food. DON'T ORDER DESSERT HERE. Ugh...I ordered citrus tart one bite and I sent it back. I didn't complain. I had it boxed and paid for it. Ordered the chocolate moose, again... Disgusting. This time I just asked for my check and told her not to bother boxing it..my kids wouldn't even eat the citrus tart the next day. How is grapefruit which is sour a good dessert? I give two stars here simply because of great service and the winter salad. Otherwise, the Seasons in my opinion is horrible.

Had excellent service while there. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and a cup of their tomato bisque. I really liked their simple menu and how everything on it was seasonal. I plan on going back, it's very much a different restaurant for Springfield and I hope that it remains open. This city used to be quite a manufacturing city back in the day and it's nice to see when new business opens.

Eat here, Springfield-ians! Fresh, seasonal fare in a contemporary setting. What a nice little gem for the area. Plus, Margaret and Doug, the bother-sister owner duo, are fabulous. They know their food and wine.

Yesterday was my first trip to Seasons and it was wonderful. The service was great. Friendly but not overly chatty and very attentive. the menu is somewhat small, but the selection doesn't leave you feeling like you wish you had more choices. I had the pumpkin Quesadilla and it was really, really good. There are lots of dishes on the menu that are vegetarian or could easily be made vegetarian. They also have a children's menu. I didn't have the kiddo with me so I can't tell you how that is,but it had some nice options. Seasons was definately worth my 30 min drive. We will absolutely be back!

Seasons Bistro and Grille is a great hidden gem in Springfield. I am a vegetarian and a self-described foodie, so finding a place with something I like is sometimes challenging. I am glad to report that Seasons exceeded my expectations. My mom and I found the Seasons Bistro thanks to Yelp. We were driving through Springfield on the way to a figure skating competition in Dayton and wanted some place to go for lunch that was better than fast food. After some issues finding parking (there are a lot of one-way streets), we arrived at the restaurant, which is rather small and charming. The menu had very inventive dishes, such as an asparagus grinder and purple potato chips with wasabi aioli- we ordered the grinder with the chips and a Greek salad. Our waitress was very friendly and happy to accommodate our request for no chicken on the salad. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. The salad was very fresh and well balanced, the asparagus was perfectly cooked, and creamy aioli was addictive on the chips. As I said to my mom, you could get a burger and fries at McDonalds or an asparagus grinder and purple potato chips. I am so glad we were able to find such a great restaurant! No complaints about any part of the meal; this is definitely a spot worth visiting.

Met a friend here for lunch today and was very pleasantly surprised. A first class restaurant in the middle of downtown Springfield. Airy and spacy in a newish building, stylish wooden decor with high ceilings and nice artwork on the walls. Beautiful-looking bar, and what appeared to be good choices for wine and beer. The clientele was of all ages, and it seemed to include both the business crowd and general public, young and old. Menu was short and to the point--no need to pour over it for ages to pick something nice to eat, and I liked being able to look at it online the day before. All the choices were good (pizzas, fish tacos, house soups, special sandwiches) and the specials of the day sounded unique. I ordered the bison burger with steak fries, and had exactly what I'd expected. The service was excellent, the coffee after lunch was just right (not cooked too long or watered down), and the bill just right. I didn't try the deserts but will next time. If you're just passing through Springfield as part of a larger road trip, or in the area and looking for a good alternative to the usual chain (I paid as much as I would have at any chain for lunch), this is well worth checking out. There are lots of communities that would love to have something like this place.

Three of us dined on 8/9/2012, and we came away with different results. I tried the jerk chicken, found it tasty, if a bit overdone. The mashed plantains would have been too cloying for me, but the addition of a ring of fresh salsa made a wonderful counterpoint. The vegetables were grilled perfectly, still with a bite, and flavorful. My wife chose the Philly cheese steak, and found it inedible. The beef tasted boiled and thoroughly unappetizing. Service was friendly and attentive, except I would have expected the waitress to inquire why my wife left her entree uneaten. The chocolate ice cream was found excellent by our chocolate mavens.

My review is based on many visits to Seasons. I go there fairly frequently from lunch to dinner time. I'm always happy with the food and service. Plenty of healthy choices on the menu. Love the seasonal selections. Nice atmosphere also. I must give a special mention of the Mother's Day brunch. It was amazing! Maybe I should say it sucked so it doesn't get too crowded but I like to support local business. We need more places like this in town.

I cannot begin to tell everyone how great it feels to have a place like the Season in downtown Springfield. This and more of it is what the downtown area needs to start the revitalization. I agree with everything Nathan said about the environment it is absolutely remarkable. I have only been for lunch and I have not been since they changed their menu over from Spring to Summer, but I was very happy with the food and $7 or so is really no that expensive for a lunch. If you reside in Springfield you should defiantly check it out and it could also be worth a stop if you are driving on I-70 it really just adds around 10 minutes on your trip. My only problem with Season is the service which has been kind of weird every time I have been there, but it was very new and from what I hear it is much better now.

I was looking for something other than Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans and found Seasons Bistro and Grille. Great drinks, food and nice atmosphere. The service was perfect, clever and attentive but not lingering or overly chatty - Jaimie rocks. I might eat there again tonight! Thanks to the other yelpers who led me here!

Nestled among the business buildings of downtown Springfield is a beautiful little Bistro. As soon as you enter, you are transformed into a whole different world of cuisine, arts and music. It is not just the food, which is excellent, but the whole ambiance. The service was superb and friendly. The menu had a lot to choose from, and something for every taste. We were told the selection changes every season, hence the name, so there is variety year round. My husband loves their Bison Burger. It looked delicious so I had to take a bite and was glad I did. It is not only tasty but healthy meat. The dessert lineup was divine, specially the chocolate espresso creme. The walls are decorated with paintings and artwork from up and coming artists. A live band provided classy jazz music adding to the atmosphere. Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, take note. It is a great dining experience and worth the drive to Springfield.

I had a great lunch the other day. I had a lamb burger which was seasoned with cumin, cinnamon, garlic and other spices; cooked perfectly. For dessert I had the outstanding chocolate ganache cake with two different types of salt. Outstanding.

Let's start off by saying I am not from the area. We wanted to have dinner with friends and Springfield was half way. If u Google restaurants there aren't a lot of choices so we picked seasons just from yelp reviews. We were nervous n from the outside we started to question our choice but one step inside we felt right at home. It's warm n inviting and our server was pleasant, attentive n knowledgeable. The brie appetizers were wonderful. Salads n entrees were satisfying. Only down side was dessert... Simple plain n small. It was jazz night which I enjoyed it was just too loud for where we sat. We plan to return.

Let me start by saying I cannot believe this place is in Springfield. No offense ,but Dayton can't even support nice restaurants. How this place survives is beyond me. I like Springfield really i do, but when i think of fine dining that is not the first city nor the 10th city I would list in the Miami valley. With that said, this place was pretty good. We went when it was snowy out and their was virtually no one there. The view of the plaza around Christmas is amazing to say the least. The food here apparently changes seasonally and is cooked based on the seasons( hence the name). The food was really very good, we had to wait for a long while for it, considering the lack of people in the place, but still worth the wait. I made reservations, but it didn't seem to matter much on this particular day. I hear they have a pretty busy lunch crowd which would make sense. Parking is minimal to aggravating because if you don't park on the street right out front you have to go like a block over on a different directional one-way street to get to the parking lot. Truthfully, I hope this is the only the beginning for fine dining in Springfield. That particular city deserves more. Seasons Bistro, if it doesn't work out in Springfield, you should move to Dayton. Have fun at this place and enjoy it while it lasts.

Was down from Cleveland and met up with my baby sis for lunch here. Food was exceptional. Had the chili verde soup which was superbly seasoned, At server's suggesstion had the cajun pork salad special. Was just exceptionaly well flavored. Pork medallions were very tender, but just a tiny bit overcooked. I believe my pork should be a tiny bit pink. I realize that that make make me an aberration amongst my friends in Southern Ohio, but this pork was too good to be slightly overdone, even if it was still moist. The goat cheese that came with the salad was creamy and must have come from milk that came from happy goats. The best came last. The waitress patiently explained the desserts and I opted for the bacon chocolate brownie topped with Jeni's saltly caramel ice cream. Jeni's is expensive so it was a bit costly, but worth it. If you want the best you gotta pay for. Some may think that this is a small thing, but I don't the coffee was excellent. I get down to Springfield every few months. This is a place I will definitely go back to. The service could not be any better. Next time, I'll specify that I want my pork a tiny bit pink. If it comes out that way I'm gonna revise this and make it five star. Folks if you are in the area, skip the junk at the chains and give yourselves a treat, try The Bistro. Easy access to I 70. Straight shot up 72 (north) which beomes Limestone St.

Too fancy and expensive for my taste. They serve an elite crowd in Springield. Have eaten here three times, and been to community events here. I am just looking for burger and fries. They had buffalo burgers.

Haven't been here in a year and it's just as amazing as I remember from last year. Had a house salad, shrimp quesadilla and a Sergeant Pepper Martini. All amazing and complex, yet simple!

A holiday office lunch here a few weeks back and I'm a fan for life!! Who would guess there's a hidden away nook in the middle of downtown Springfield that offers such a wide array of creative, thought-provoking meal choices?!? Attentive service, willing to adapt for picky eaters, and truly something for everyone from veg. to carnivore... I had the delicious pumpkin quesadillas, along with a great side salad and Jeni's flavorful ice cream for dessert, though I almost went for the equally tempting looking apple strudel... Can't wait to go back for dinner and try more, throughout the different Seasons!!

I spent several days in the heart of the rather depressing specter of downtown Springfield. What was once a vital downtown was hit hard by wrongheaded urban 'renewal.' The Four Seasons was a bright spot: fresh food, good service, and excellent prices. I started with a garden salad, moved to grilled chicken and finished off with an intense lemon sorbet. Looking at the typical cookie cutter corporate establishments in the strip malls that killed downtown, Four Seasons is the place to go to support an excellent local business.

Seasons Bistro seemed to be touted on the app so I decided to stop by for lunch. I was promptly greeted by a very friendly gent behind the bar and given a seat quickly. It seemed to have a pretty nice lunch crowd. I decided to start off with the soup of the day, Mulligatawny. It was very heavy on curry but I enjoyed it a lot. It was very flavorful but not spicy, which I would have appreciated. For my lunch entree I ordered the braised beef tacos. It came with two tacos with tomatillo and a black bean salsa on the side. The beef was a bit dry but the accompaniments made up for it. I would definitely come back to Seasons. Next time I'm going to run with the Bison Burger.

I felt like I was ALMOST in a bigger city. The food isn't typical which is a wonderful change from all the chain and fast food options in Springfield. Ambiance is wonderdul and service was friendly. Food was delicious and ignited my tastebuds with fun and different flavors. Price can be steep.

Seasons Bistro and Grille is the best restaurant in Springfield. As the name of the joint indicates, the menu changes seasonally to offer selections of that season. I always go for lunch and am able to get in and out during my hour break. Everyday they offer a different personal pizza and pasta, which have always been excellent. Today I had the pineapple gazpacho and the open faced Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with Maque Choux (Cajun blend of corn, bell pepper, tomatoes, onion, and bacon). It was fantastic and $13. They also have some pretty tasty desserts including Jeni's Ice Cream, creme brulee, fruit crepes, cheesecake, and chocolate dulce de leche bars with Jeni's on top!

Seasons has a excellent variety of food. I love their seasonal menu. Sometimes I wish they had a few more standard "Seasons is known for" dishes...but I always enjoy eating there!

Great creative food. The only place I've ever had mushy peas with fish and chips in the US (excuse me America, but fish and chips should come with mushy peas not coleslaw!), they're not quite the same as British mushy peas but they sure were tasty. I can also highly recommend the vegetarian risotto and the Caesar salad. Good selection of craft brews too.

We ate here once last year and it was fine. But last night was a disappointment from the outset. A group of 10 college kids were seated at the large table in the back, and the hostess took us past two empty tables to seat us next to them. The din was enough to make conversation for the three of us difficult. It took an inordinate time for drinks, then we ordered dinner. No bread or anything to nosh on. Looked at my watch, and we had gone 30 minutes from the time we walked in... And still nothing to eat. Finally appetizers. Pork belly with a maple syrup sauce was above average. Later the salads came along with bread (where were you when we needed you?), and the Autumn salad with blue cheese and pear was good, though the dressing was weak. One of our group was then told- halfway through salad- they were out of her risotto (little late to be finding this out), and they would delay our dinner until they could "catch up" with her second choice. So after a long wait, two entrees, including the second choice arrived. But not mine-- shrimp & grits-- probably the quickest of the entrees to make! Despite my insistence, the others refused to start in until mine arrived. 4-5 minutes later. Shrimp and grits is a great dish, but this was a bit watery and wouldn't be confused with one served in a good Charleston establishment. Squash lasagna was pretty good. And around the middle of the entrees, the college crowd filed out so we could hear ourselves talk. Other than a couple of good flavors of Jeni's ice cream, none of the desserts seemed exceptional enough to order. Everyone seemed ready to leave. Food is still exceptional in spots, just okay in others, and service was mediocre. Smart looking decor, but the usual tinny acoustics to make it sound more lively become problematic when a boisterous group dominates the back half of the room. This really is a fine restaurant, and an oasis in downtown Springfield. But this night, they weren't all that.

Cute place. Expectations were moderate to high. The service was good at first, when I was one of only a couple of people here. Very small menu, played it safe (I thought) and went with the burger. I was wrong lol The burger was mealy and had zero flavor other than the mayo and salt I put on it. Once others came in, the service quality dropped off significantly. Luckily I'm just stopping in on my way to somewhere else because I don't think I'll be coming here again.

Many great reasons to recommend Seasons when you're in Springfield: - Locally owned - Always the freshest ingredients including local farmers market produce - Attentive and well trained staff - Seasonal menu that always features 3-4 excellent entrees - Skilled bartenders and nice wine list

Can't really review because we didn't get to eat. Big tip: make a reservation. When we showed up without one, we said to the older woman who was seating guests do we need a reservation. Reply: "it would've helped." She the scurried off to pour water and place napkins while not giving us an indication of how long it would be. Telling us only that she would "Work on it." She seats two more sets of reservations. Then we ask her how long it will be. "Oh, thirty minutes." Ok, bye. I've been treated better at an IHOP.

The best eatery in Springfield! The food is great, and there is always something appealing in their daily specials. The winter salad with the white chocolate vinaigrette was sublime, one of the best things I've ever eaten here. I love the concept of a seasonal menu, and everything I've had has always been amazing. I love that they source many of their ingredients from local farms and dairies. Great place, especially in a city so overrun with fast food chains. A good place to take a date if you're looking to impress.

A cup of carrot soup laced with spinach, Doug's goulash and Jenny's chocolate ice cream all accompanied by a glass of Pinot noir and a Porto - an 'emergency room' visit as I'm passing through Springfield - add a fresh rose on the table and a great baguette (would be even greater if heated to croustillant not just warmed) along with generous and attentive wait staff, Make My Day! Bravo!

There's not a whole lot of nice places to eat in Springfield so it's really nice to see a downtown place so well done. The environment of the space is very nice and clean decorated with lot's of framed pictures and some local art. The layout is comfortable despite the small size. It feels very New York in a good way. The food is on the higher end of price but excellent. Our server was prompt and helpful with our drinks and our food. Overall great experience and will definitely be back. We went for dinner, but I've heard lunch is good as well. Check it out some time!

This is an acceptable eatery in Springfield. It has an inviting atmosphere and casual, relaxed feel. Our server, Nicole, was very personable and was knowledgeable about the menu, which changes seasonably. However, we found it a bit limited. If it wasn't for the specials, my husband would have had to settle on a dish that he was less than thrilled about ordering. Their wine menu is also limited and what they do have listed does not include year or country/region of origin. We are not experts on wine but have a decent knowledge so we had to ask our server to check several bottles before we made our final choice. What we did eat was very good. I started with the tomato bisque and my husband had a salad. For our entrees, I had the cheese blintz with ratatouille and my husband had a the featured pasta special with olives and feta. We were both pleased with our choices. We finished with coffee and the flourless chocolate cake lightly sprinkled with sea salt. An interesting combination that worked very well. We would probably come back here but would check the menu first.

Great flavors! I trust them! I had the Capris Chicken. I enjoyed it! As an appetizer I had the melted cheese with pesto- wonderful. Great service, and friendly waitress. My husband loved the coffee. They do have a short menu but they have about 3-4 specials new daily in addition. Come, eat friends!

Overall had a good experience here, but I left having expected more. The service was great, but the atmosphere and food were just above average. I expected a more dimly lit dinner area rather than the bright surroundings we found. I also expected all the food to seem fresher. We had Tuna tostadas to start and the were good, but only included 3 one inch tostadas, so be warned it's literally 3 bites. We shared a personal pizza and the beef tacos. The pizza was about a 10" margarita with large slices of tomato and plenty of fresh mozzarella. The crust seemed pre made and was just meh, nothing special but overall good. The tacos were good and seemed like all the ingredients were fresh. Dinner was served quickly, we were seated, ordered, served and ate in about an hour. Overall a good experience but nothing to get too excited about.

Oh, Springfield..you truly have a gem of a restaurant. Bistro atmosphere, lively but still easily allowing conversation. Service was truly outstanding and gracious when I sent back a dish that, while cooked well, was not what I expected flavor wise and quickly replaced with my choice of a delicious and juicy burger. I ate every bite of the flame grilled treat with its melty blue cheese. Makes my mouth water to think of it. Also had a Brussel sprout/white bean soup that I have now asked restaurant for the recipe- I want it again..and again. Other treats were the steak tacos my daughter ordered-tender and well flavored beef with amazing garden that enhanced the experience tenfold. Dessert was salty caramel ice cream with dulce de leche and chocolate ganache shortbread like wafers. Delish, not quite as intense a chocolate flavor as I hoped, but we still devoured it. Lastly, there was a fantastic jazz trio playing all through the dinner hour. Unobtrusive but so complementary to atmosphere. I'll be making many trips to Springfield in the next four years to visit my daughter, and I can only hope Seasons Bistro and Grille thrives-I will go back again and again. Best food and dining experience in "them there parts", hands down!

Wow! What a great place. Great pizza. Comfortable and quiet atmosphere for dinner. Highly recommend. This is coming from a snobby California guy too. This place wouldn't be out of place in Downtown San Francisco. In fact, it would shine and prosper very well.

We made a trip across the US from California to NJ and we were on the hunt for an upscale dinner in Springfield, OH. This town has taken some hits and it is a bit run down so we were not expecting too much. We went on Yelp and decided to give Seasons a try and were walked away very impressed. For drinks my wife had wine and chose the Catena Malbec; delicious. For dinner my wife had the summer salad, and the veggie pasta of the night. She absolutely loved both. I was in a French mood and had the surf and turf. The bouillabaisse soup (very reasonable and delicious), and for the turf I had the frogs legs (not what you were thinking huh?). Again, everything was perfect. I have a French mom so I have quite a bit of experience with this meal. For desert we had decaf coffee that did not taste decaffeinated, but was marvelous. For desert, the waitress (Jamie) suggested the Lemon Tart and we went back to the hotel very satisfied. Seasons would hold its own in any town. To find it in hard knocks Springfield, we applaud with appreciation!

Margaret and Doug were wonderful to work with from start to finish in planning our wedding reception, especially since we live in Los Angeles. The location was great-- it was down the street from the church and across the street from the hotel. The food was delicious -- we asked for foods specific to our ethnic backgrounds and they went above and beyond to make sure that it was authentic. Our guests were impressed! Since it is already beautifully decorated there was little to do in that regard and we were able to enjoy ourselves immensely. A good time had by all.

Seasons is as good as it gets in Springfield, OH, which, by most accounts isn't a high bar to clear, but they clear it with ease. We went with a party of 6 on a Saturday night and they had our table ready -with ice water on the table- when we arrived. They have a full bar with some good microbrews on tap and an adequate wine list. I would rather seen a few more wines, BUT I doubt too many patrons in Springfield wish the same. So let's talk about the food: I've been to Seasons on three different occasions and it's become my "go-to" spot in Springfield when I'm visiting family. Their appetizers are always a little bit small-ish, but never less than excellent. My server was attentive on all three occasions. But there is a secret about having an extraordinary experience at Seasons: order their steak. These guys get their hands on some of the best meat I've had. In January we went and my wife had some steak medallions with carmelized onions and crumbled cheese. It was to die for. Last night, I sprung for the fillet and it was one of the best filets I've ever had.

I worked in Springfield for a few weeks and was very depressed how few restaurants this little town had. However, on one of the last days I was in town I had a CPA take me out to lunch and introduced me to Season Bistro. I wish I would have found it earlier. The atmosphere was elegant and relaxed. That alone makes it worth your trip. The food is well thought out and will be worth your time..
