Taco salad was great. The chicken breast covered in cheese sauce and chorizo is equally amazing. We were there for theology on tap. I'd go again as the food is good. Miguel was our server and he was nothing but hospitable. We love tortilla chips!!!

We've been here a few times and really love it. The decor is awesome; so bright and colorful. LOVE the tables. The food is great; portions great. They could cut a couple bucks off the prices and hit a grand slam! I think compared to other Mexican places, the prices are a bit high. I'm a big seafood fan so I usually get the seafood trio. Lots of seafood. But I wish they would add guac to all of their combo meals. I didn't get any. The prices are basically my only complaint.

This is a great restaurant that I highly recommend for meeting with large or small groups, friends or family, any occasion will do. The staff is very friendly and works hard to accommodate groups as large as ours last night...we had about 25 people show up throughout the night! They have a bar area you can sit at if you just want drinks and something small to eat, or plenty of dining area. I especially love their margaritas which are plenty strong so drink cautiously! The Sergio Special is probably one of the best items on the menu so definitely try that out. My ONLY real complaint is that their guacamole looks/tastes like it came from a bag. I would expect that a Mexican Restaurant would make their own fresh guacamole. So that's a little disappointing.

Cancun Restaurant is cool. Not great but not horrible. I like their outdoor patio seating and their margaritas. I hear that their corona-ritas are pretty good too. They offer complimentary chips and salsa even if you're just ordering drinks; which is nice. Another thing that I appreciate are their daily specials. I'll admit, I didn't try the food there because nothing seemed appetizing but again the margaritas were really good. I'd say this place is definitely worth a shot and I'll probably go back again. Note: the most unfortunate thing about this restaurant is their God awful restrooms. Just beware and don't forget your hand sanitizer!

Pretty much the typical Americanized Mexican place. I agreed to go here only for the margaritas. I had a Coronarita which was the size of my head and very tasty and I followed that with a delicious peach margaritas. My friend ordered queso which actually wasn't too bad especially when mixed with the complimentary salsa. The service left much to be desired. There was a big birthday party there and they seemed busy but I kind of felt ignored most of the time. Cancun will NEVER be a first choice but it is a great place for a good margarita.

I came here a few months ago on recommendation by a coworker who was raving about the food quality, quantity, and prices. I must agree that the quantity and prices were spot on as 2 people could easily eat a lot of food for under $25 with drinks. The quality, however, was not so good. The service was also pretty slow and unreliable. With regards to the quality, I ordered the white queso and guac to start. The queso was just warm and not hot by any means. To add insult to injury, when the queso cooled down further, it congealed, which made it inedible in my eyes. The guac tasted like it was store bought and wasn't anything special. Finally, we ordered some veggie nachos to share, which was a big serving and were pretty tasty. In the end, we were full and somewhat satisfied but don't intend on coming back due to the myriad of Mexican food restaurants in the area that serve a very similar menu but with greater quality and service.

The food at Cancun was great. I had a chicken burrito. It was a little runny, but other than that it was ok. The chicken was well done. The service on the other hand, sucked. It took forever to get our food, and it wasnt that busy. When we got food, noone came back to check on us

We eat here roughly twice per month. The service is awesome and the atmosphere is fun. The food is your typical Mexican- good, but nothing exceptional. In addition to the service, what keeps us coming back is that Cancun serves the strongest frozen margaritas we've ever had in a restaurant, hands down.

This is the place to go for Mexican food in the area! The food is delicious! The whole place has an authentic feel to it. The staff is very friendly. The food came out very quickly once ordered. They were not very busy when I was there but my friends tell me even when they are busy the food is delivered to the table hot and quickly. The ambiance is light and fun. If you follow my reviews none are complete without a statement about the value! It's true, I'm cheap. :) This place is priced very well and they even have coupons online. The food is worth every penny and more. So stop reading this review and go there!

I had dinner here with some friends on a recent Saturday night after a Bearcats game. The restaurant was packed, but everyone kept moving quickly and did a great job getting people seated and taking orders. The chips were ok and the salsa was very bland, I had to had some salt and pepper to the salsa for my liking, and would have liked the salsa with a bit more heat. I ordered a dish with grilled chicken breasts with chorizo sausage and served with a guacamole salad and rice and beans. It was good, it seemed the beans were straight out of a can. A bonus tip- UC and XU students get 20% off the total bill when shown student ID to cashier.

This place is really great. They have awesome margaritas in all different sizes, the best deal is the pitcher! The inside decor is my favorite part. Everything is so colorful and fun. Definitely one of the better places to eat if you don't want to deal with the traffic of rookwood commons.

  • Alec D.

Although the service can be iffy...I still make my weekly stop into Cancun with my fiance so we can get the Pollo Supremo and a pitcher of margaritas. They have great daily specials on margaritas as well as some of their most popular menu items. Everything I have eaten, from nachos to enchilladas to their sizzling fajita platters, have always satisfied. Any "Authentic" (wink wink) Mexican restaurant I go to around the country gets compared to Cancun...none of them measure up! You will not be disappointed checking out this gem in Norwood.

I've only been here twice and only had margaritas and queso. The interior is pretty cute, I've been to this place before and I'm always amazed at how it looks the same and not at all the same. Lots of neon birds and a pyramid in the middle makes this place pretty cute. The margaritas are so-so - about even with most places - but the strawberry one was pretty darn good. The queso I felt the same about - it was just so-so. This restaurant defines "A-OK" - it's a positive okay. Service is pretty decent, chips are warm and not too salty.

This is seriously the most fun Mexican joint I have ever been to. My wife, friends, and I go every Thursday night to enjoy the atmosphere and the margaritas (which are massive and awesome). They have a pretty typical menu, but I haven't had a dish there that didn't blow me away. This place has become our "Cheers", and we're happy we found it.

Your typical tex-mex (enchiladas, tacos, burritos) with a lot of specials... most involve a lot of cheese. The main reason I come here is for the margarita specials. $15 pitchers on Fridays and discounted other sizes throughout the week. The margaritas are good with and are fairly strong. I have gotten the cheese dip a few times. I've found the white cheese dip at some of the other Mexican restaurants to be very running and very thin. At Cancuun, they have a perfect consistency and flavor with their cheese dip They do have a small porch area for when the weather is nice. Parking is plenty and is connected to a hotel. Service is normally good. Their is the occasional forgotten silverware or need of a refill, but their are enough servers walking around that you can flag one down. Nothing really special, decent food with cheap margaritas.

We loved this place. great food and they have outside seating. coupons for this place are super easy to find. Look on the back of your Kroger reciept or look your neigbborhood flyer. I was a little nervous at first because it is located in a hotel but it was worth it. Check it out and get your coupon

My initial impressions of the restaurant were positive. The decor is beautiful. The pyramid on the back wall caught the sunlight and was shimmering like it was made of gold. The food was very good. The flavors, textures and temperatures were all as expected. The salsa had a little bit of kick, but not so much that it was overpowering. We also ordered the cheese dip for the chips, which was fantastic. The service we received was OK. The staff was friendly, however, they were a bit slow. Normally, this wouldn't bother me too much, but the restaurant was nearly empty and there were several staff members having lunch/dinner in the main dining area. We also had a coupon, but the staff seemed at a loss for how to process it. The pricing is fairly typical of sit-down Mexican restaurants in the area. Our meal would have come to around $25 without the coupon, which included two dinners, the cheese dip and one drink. With the coupon, it was a steal at $17.00. All-in-all, we enjoyed Cancun Mexican Restaurant and will definitely visit again in the future. I think most of the issues we observed were due to the slowness of the restaurant and, probably, much of the staff being on break. The positives so outweighed the negatives in this case, that I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in any case.

Let me just say that I love Mexican food! Ok... I love Americanized Mexican food... ok I love fajitas. lol But this location recently opened up down the street from me, and I had a Val-Pak coupon, so I decided to hit it up with the bf. I was a little leery at first as it's attached to the Holiday Inn (or maybe it was a Comfort inn... not that it matters) and it seemed that it took forever to open! But when we walked in I was totally and pleasantly surprised! This place was huge! and had plenty of seating options! There were also big screen tv in easily viewable yet inconspicuous places throughout so if you wanted to watch the game you could, and if not, you really didn't notice them. I felt brave that night and decided against my normal fajita or enchilada combo that I get just about every freakin time i go to a place like this. Hey go with what you love right?! But I wasn't sure what I was craving, so the Acapulco Special for me it was! It was a mix of steak and chicken and shrimp, and veggies and guac, and even fajita wraps if i wanted them! Perfect for my I-don't-know-what-the-heck-i-want tummy. It. Was. A-freakin-mazing! even the bf's food was really good. The margarita's were incredibly low priced, and incredibly strong as well! I was thinking about docking it a star maybe a half, as the server wasn't around as much as I'd have liked during the meal, but then 1. I realized he was also tending the bar, and 2. the food was just too freakin amazing. I will definately be back here, and this may just kick me out of my normal Mexican/American habit!

This place is pretty darn good. Not amazing, but good. Yet another establishment I would like to give 3.5 stars. It's typical Tex-Mex with the standard menu. I got the enchiladas suizas, and they were quite delicious. The restaurant itself is done up to the hilt; every single table and booth has different carvings on it, huge murals, etc. Kids love to come and stare at everything. My two big issues: they serve Pepsi products. Really? Pepsi? I have never heard of a Mexican restaurant serving Pepsi. And I hate Pepsi. Secondly, their salsa isn't so great, and I need great salsa. Otherwise, this place is solid, plus it's close to home, so it's always a convenient stand-by.

I hate giving reviews with low ratings. I really do.. but I feel like my experience was a huge letdown. I met a few friends there, and the atmosphere was great! We sat outside, the place was nicely decorated inside.. I loved the painted chairs and scenic vibe. The place was jumping. I thought I'd have a great time at this little place. Well I ordered the Monster Margarita and it was great, actually the best part of my visit to Cancun. The food, eh.. I just really didn't care for it. It was very bland, and just didn't sit right with me at all. So I figured I'd make up for it with dessert. I ordered the fried ice cream, because lets face it.. what is better than deep fried ice cream right?? If you can think of something better, then you need to let me know so I can try it too!! Well, apparently Cancun has a different idea of what "FRIED" ice cream is supposed to be. They bring it out to me and it's covered with whip cream. So at first I don't notice... that it wasn't FRIED. They simply took ice cream and threw it into some corn flakes in a tortilla shell. They lathered it up in whip cream and threw a cherry on top to pretty it up, but it surely didn't pretty up the flavor. I took two bites of it, and was pretty dismayed. I complained to my server, which I hardly EVER do, but this was something I'd had my heart set on, and to be let down like that.. boo. He explained that they use the tortilla shell to replace the fried portion. WHAT? That doesn't even make sense!! The tortilla shell tastes like the bottom of a cereal box.. probably the box you used to get my frosted flakes from now that I think about it.. UGH. Now, don't get me wrong.. I'm not a total jerk. I didn't say that to the server.. I just expressed my dismay. He simply shrugged his shoulders and brought us out the bill. It still had my horrible ice cream concoction at full price on the bill. I don't know if I'll ever go back unless it's only for the margarita alone. I will never eat their food again. There's a Frishes next door that I think I'd have better luck at for my taste buds. No Bueno.

Cute atmosphere, great staff, typical menu, HUGE margaritas. Great for groups. We came here a couple of times with our football fan group to watch college games. The staff was amazingly accommodating. They went above and beyond and did a great job keeping our huge beers full while we cheered on our team! Thanks guys!

Let it be known that I love Mexican food. When I was living abroad, it ranked next to my family as things I miss the most. And while you can get decent Mexican food here in the Queen City. There is something to be said about finding a new great American-Mexican restaurant. And Cancun Mexican is (for me) that new place. And overall, it was a good meal. Before getting in to the meat of the review, lets start with the Mexican restaurant staple: chips and salsa. The chips were decent though a bit dry. I really liked the salsa. Though it was a soapy slightly spicy salsa then chunky salsa. As for my entree, I went with fajitas. Because if they don't have good fajitas then it might as well not be a Mexican restaurant. The fajitas came with plenty of grilled veggies and ample amounts of shredded steak. And overall it is was good fajitas. My sister, who went with me, had the Steak Mexicana. She said it was good though she ate most it so I think she enjoyed it more then she let on. The service was decent. The atmosphere is great you can almost forget that your eating in a hotel. Also I was amazed at the painting of the temple on the windows. Overall, it was good. And if your in Norwood where your only other option for Mexican is Chipolte, then give it a try. If you live or are in any other area of town there is a Mexican place closer to you. It is worth it only if your near by.

This is the best mexican place in Cincy hands down. I mean Nada of course but, This is the best AFFORDABLE mexican restaurant in town! The staff greets me when I come in, they remember me. They have awesome margaritas. The coupons are awesome too, makes me able to eat there a lot! Ismael special and queso dip!!!

It is difficult for me to decide whether or not I liked the food at Cancun. To start, the salsa was mediocre. It was soupy and did not have much flavor to it. Second, the entree was OK. I had ordered the chicken-chorizo plate. The chorizo had the basic flavors one would expect but the entire plate was covered in cheese. Third, the service could have been a little bit better. Maybe they were busy at the time, I am not sure. This is a good location for a large group but there are better options for Mexican food in Cincinnati. (I think I should clarify and say that there are better options for "authentic" Mexican food in Cincinnati) PS Be warned of their birthday celebrations!

It's OK. Cancun is another restaurant in a long line of restaurants occupying the dining space at the Quality Inn. I can't say there is anything that makes this Mexican joint special. It's the sort of place we stop at when we're going home and don't feel like cooking.

I drove past this place before thanks to a bad sense of direction. It got no love from me mainly because it was connected to a Marriott. According to prior experience, restaurants connected to hotels serve average, overpriced food. But I'm glad that a friend suggested we come here for Cinco de Mayo, because it completely superseded my expectations. There was an outdoor patio and the inside of the restaurant was large and spacious, even though it was packed with people. My friends waited about an hour for a table, but it was totally worth it. We all got jumbo margaritas which were very strong, and the waiter brought around chips and salsa as appetizers. Even though it was Cinco, the food and drinks all arrived fairly quickly, which impressed me right away! The menu is extensive, with lots of combos/a la carte choices -- basically all the Mexican dishes you can think of, even mole -- and whole sections dedicated to seafood and steaks. It's also fun to laugh at the fobby descriptions on the menu -- ie. the Enchilada Especial comes with "just a touch of salad". Loll what?? Anyway, I went with the chorizo quesadilla, which was a huge portion that tasted great and made my belly happy. My friends polished off all their orders too and were very satisfied. And tipsy. Yay margaritas!!! I can't believe I came across TWO authentic-style Mexican restaurants here in the same week...someone's trying to make me all fat or something...

This place is not far from home and makes some really good food. Sure, it's not the authentic food you get at Taqueria Mercado et al, but a reliable option. The margaritas alone are worth a visit!!! The service is prompt and friendly. The decor is colorful and the place seems quite clean.

Good food, low prices, strong margs, cheeky-but-not-creepy servers - what more could you want from a Mexican restaurant? Came here with a few friends the other night for dinner. Service was a little spotty at first, but once our orders were finally taken, the food and drinks arrived quickly. I got the vegetarian combo of rice/beans, cheese quesadilla and tortilla-wrapped veggies; the flavors were great, and I ended up eating way more than I planned to (whoops). The chips and salsa on the table were pretty good too, if a little bland. In short, I'd come back, and that's saying something as Mexican isn't really my top cuisine choice. Pro tip: go early on weekend nights. We were seated around 6:15, and by the time we left the lobby was full of people waiting for a table.

I went there for lunch today and I was very surprised!! The food was great and the prices were cheap! The servers were friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place!! I picked up a take away menu because I will be ordering food from here again! My only problem was that my friend asked for a side of sour cream and they charged her $1.00 for it.

I've eaten here a few times now, and find the food good, prices reasonable, service adequate and the overall atmosphere great. We just had an opportunity to celebrate a special occasion with a large group, and everything went just fine. These folks are very easy to work with.

They wouldvt received 5 stats if the service was better. Went here for a friends birthday the song they did was nice for her as they slapped whipped cream in her face. I ordered a Cancun taco salad it came with shrimp steak and chicken which was a good deal and good eats. As far as service goes they never cane back and checked on us had to ask repeatedly to get things but not the bill lol Would like to go back next time I'm in Cincy if the service allows me. Also, the decor was great they had hand painted chairs and tables which were cool

Was just here the other night and had an "A-OK" time. The food isn't bad mexican for being in Ohio and the service is acceptable. Get the queso dip for the chips its good. I will say the chips weren't bad but could have been better. Having been to Mexico quite a bit I feel like i'm maybe to picky about mexican food but its just so much more bland than down there. The food for the area however isn't bad at all.

Had dinner here with friends on a weekend trip to Cincinnati. The service was good- food arrived quick. Typical large portions as at most Mexican restaurants. The chips were delicious and I liked everyone got their own little bowl to pour salsa- no problems double dipping! We also enjoyed a bowl of queso- spicy cheese sauce. I had the enchiladas suizas which were good. My husband enjoyed his vegetarian combo of enchilada and tostada.

I normally never leave a negative review. I wholeheartedly believe that if you have nothing nice to say, zip it! However, after my experience the last 3 times, I have to update. My friend usually asks to go here so I oblige, but I have made my last visit. This is why: The bathrooms are horrendous. Walking past the meeting room sealed off in police evidence tape should have alerted me that times have changed here. Toilet paper rolls are on the floor, there are holes in the walls, some are always out of order, and I ran out of the stall the last time because of what I found on the seat. The food quality is also faltering. The chips were stale the last 2 times. If you can't perfect a Mexican American food staple as simple as that, then close the doors. We waited for 10 minutes to get our check the last time because our waiter disappeared. This last time takes the cake though. I ordered nachos just like my friend. Mine came solely with cheese and shrimp, nothing else. So I asked for the beans, sour cream and guac like hers had. After 10 minutes they finally came out and I could assemble my meal. If I wanted a buffet, I would have gone to one. When the bill comes, I was charged for all of the items separately. That's right $18.99 for nachos at a restaurant connected to a hotel that was closed for drugs and prostitution. When I tried to explain to the waiter, he argued with me until I told him to see what he could do with it. He walks away crumbling the receipt and comes back with the nachos and beans charged, telling me to look at the menu the next time. Well, he can use the money I spent on beans as his tip, because that is all he is getting. And there will not be a next time. Cancun, up your game or shut your doors. Adios!

I love how gaudy and colorful this place is inside. Lots of room and a bar too. We like to sit outside on the patio in the summer. Food is really tasty and big portions too. Wasn't a fan of their guacamole, but the burritos and fajitas were yummy. We'll be back!

I love mexican food and the food was good. But I wasn't knocked out of the park. It is definitely a great place for groups and the server was really funny and friendly. My boyfriend ordered the Burrito Loco and he said it was good. I had the combo meal and ordered a beef crispy taco, chicken tostado, and a chicken quesadilla. I was alright. I have had better but I have had worse.

Reach magazine had a coupon for this place. Read the reviews on yelp and wanted to try it. This is connected to the Quality Inn Hotel. As soon as I walked in and was seated, it smelled like a hotel (like cleaning products and was kind of muggy). The chips and salsa were okay. My chips were kind of stale. The food however, came out hot and fresh. That was pretty delicious. The staff was friendly and quick. Experience was okay. A great experience, but if you can relate, we all have "our Mexican" restaurant in the area. I always go to either El Jinete or El Rancho Grande in Kenwood. Those will always be my spots.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I've been going here for years and I've literally never had one bad experience. The servers are always extremely friendly and quick. They love to joke around and have a good time - even brought me a free shot on my birthday! Little things like that are why I totally love this place. I always either get the nachos al carbon or the shrimp tacos. You can't go wrong with either. I seriously love the food here, and the frozen strawberry margaritas are so tasty, not to mention strong! If you are looking for a staple Mexican place to eat, I would 100% recommend Cancun every single time. It doesn't get better than this.

Pretty typical of the quantity-trumps-quality mindset that characterizes some of the Mexican mini-chains in the Cincinnati area, Cancun defines the phrase "run of the mill." But would you expect much more of a restaurant that names itself after a beach resort that was basically developed to cater to American tourists? If you're happy with the combo-plate Amercanized Mexican mini-chains like El Rancho Grande and Rio Grande that dot the local scene, you'll probably be happy with Cancun, too. (And you'll be even happier if you value huge calorie counts for small of amounts of money and don't care if those calories just aren't all that great-tasting.) But if you want something a little more adventurous, authentic, or ambitious, you probably won't be so happy at Cancun. Exhibit A: chicken fajitas. They just weren't executed with much care. The chicken was haphazardly chopped, with some occasional gristle and small pieces that were really overcooked. Not much seasoning. And there wasn't very much of it proportionately. Onions were cooked down into a nearly flavorless mush, whereas the green peppers were undercooked and too crisp by contrast. Tortillas were kinda gummy. Pico de gallo was sorta pallid, although the presence of some minced jalapenos was a plus. But it was a lot of food for the money, even with the bad chicken-to-veggies ratio. The overall effect was still pretty satisfying, but this dish sure could use more punch and freshness. The salsa is relatively fresh-tasting, but as Bill E. says, a little heat would help. Service has been friendly enough, but it's also rather inattentive over a couple of visits. The restaurant is colorful, but also so huge and barn-like that it seems like any festive atmosphere might get swamped by the sheer size of the place. That's way too many "buts" to get anywhere near four stars. Almost too many to get to three, as a matter of fact.

After completing the Flying Pig 5K today a few members of our walking group decided to celebrate at Cancun. One of the members of the group raved about their margaritas so I'm always up for a good margarita. We were seated right away and our server took our drink orders right away, I went with a small frozen margarita, which arrived ice cold and was as good as the member of our group recommended. We were given chips & salsa, which we quickly ate as we were hungry from the race, but when we were ready to order we couldn't find anyone to take care of us. After a few minutes we finally found our server, the restaurant was not busy at all, so we weren't sure where he went. Once our food arrived, it was served hot, two friends selected taco salad's which looked pretty good, another friend had a bean and cheese burrito, and another a chicken chimichanga. I went with speedy Gonzalez , chicken soft taco, cheese enchilada and black beans. The black beans were flavorful, but the chicken taco was okay, I've had better and the cheese enchilada was terrible, nothing to it. I've had this lunch time dish at other Mexican restaurants in town and was much better. Finally after we were done eating and ready for our checks, again we could not find our server at all, a member of our group had to find someone and ask for the check.

I got the chille reinno (sp?) which I LOVE other places, but it was kind of fishy for some reason here (which is troubling since it's just a pepper with cheese). The red sauce on top just tasted like canned spaghetti sauce. The only upside was that the rice was great, and margaritas were strong & tasty. My boyfriend said his food was gross & watery, as well. Very disappointed.

I've been to Cancun twice. The drinks are great. The service is dismal, at best. Based on my experience, I won't be back. There were three of us yesterday. I asked for separate checks when we first sat down. My daughter and her friend really weren't hungry so they each had a margarita. I ordered a margarita and fajitas. The food was pretty good. The waiter asked for clarification of how many checks we needed at least 3 times. Once our food was served, nobody ever came back to check on us. Even after I got a box for my leftovers, the waiter did not come back to give us our checks. We waited long enough that I was ready to get up and go directly to the cashier and just as we were gathering our things, the waiter brought the checks. I normally tip extremely well, especially if the check is low. It wasn't busy and as a consequence of the waiters behavior I left a much smaller tip than I otherwise would have. I saw people be seated at a table behind us where kids had been sitting. They had made the standard kid mess. Only after the people had been seated did anyone come over and clean off the chairs. The mess on the floor stayed.

I used to like this place, but after last night I don't think I will be back. My friend and I grabbed dinner and I tried something new. I got a beef taco, tostada, and a chicken quesadilla combo. Each item was worse then the next. Everything seemed soggy. I could hardly eat any of it. I had a BOGO coupon so I didn't even think to complain about it at the time, and my friend ate most of her food, so maybe it was just me. Service is lacking. If I do go back I will stick with the chicken fajita nachos which are always good!

Oh, Cancun. Oh, Norwood. Oh, Karaoke. Add all these three together and you're in for a nite of hilariously good fun! I've actually been here for food previously, as my family and I celebrated my little sister's 23rd birthday here is April. The food was better than I expected for a chain Mexican restaurant in Ohio. I got fajitas and they were tasty. I'm not a huge fan of the guac, it seems less fresh / less chunky and more "we just ran this through a food processor". However, their drinks - specifically margaritas- are very good. And cheap, too! You can buy a pitcher for $25 bucks! If you come here after 9pm on a Thursday, brace yourself for some good 'ole Norwood fun. The crowd is quite unique and the karaoke is not elitist, but it does provide for some knee slapping good times. If you're nervous about singing in front of other people, this is the place to come to - promise!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
