The food is good. Service is good. Authentic it is not, but overall I enjoyed the experience. Prices were a tad high for a "fast food" feel, but the food was tasty and enjoyable. Would return but for the price would like to see maybe a side thrown in or a bigger portion.

Yummy! I like their chicken and cheese sopapillas. The salsa is missing something...ask for jalapeños for sure! Service is fast. They don't take credit cards but do have an ATM inside.

Love a sopapilla! Have been a fan for 30++ years! Nothing like it anywhere else! Local & family owned since mid 70's. A must try!

I enjoy La Paloma every time I come into town to visit. Their food makes me happy and it brings back some wonderful memories of childhood. As I live on the west coast now, I can only dream of their Beef, Bean and Cheese Sopapillas and get them when I come to visit over the summer. Recently I had to return to Ohio because my best friend passed away. I took her daughter to La Paloma and now we are starting our own tradition. Thank you for running such an awesome restaurant. Be prepared to wait however, if you go during rush hour. It's no secret what amazing food they have. But don't get the seafood sopapilla... it's not as good. Stick to beef, bean and cheese. And the nachos with jalapenos. :)

Lapaloma completes me. I've been coming here since I was kid and I have to make the trip home a few times a year to enjoy a sopapilla. This place is really a hole in the wall restaurant. The decor won't impress you, but the service is friendly and fast. Don't expect healthy options, this is a place to come for yummy mexican comfort food. I should also mention it's really cheap. When you go, get a sopapilla. It's soft and flaky dough with several filling options. Sizes range from small, regular, large and extra large. The usual orders from my friends and family are the chicken and cheese, beef and cheese, or bean, beef and cheese. Their homemade salsa is pretty darn good too. If you happen to order a burrito or another menu option, you can always order one of the dessert sopapillas. Bottom line: When it comes to dining in this area, La Paloma is the only place I consider.

I have been eating the smothered burrito with sour cream since La Paloma opened on Mt. Vernon Road in the 70's. I keep hoping for another lovely sbwithsc, I am often disappointed. By now I've had at least eight hundred and lately have been wishing the Buenas would smile down on the Heath La Paloma. Please....I long for the burrito the Buenas made and the great green sauce which has been made mild.

This place is hands down the best Mexican food in Heath. Every time I come home it's one of the first places I eat!

Nom nom nom.... My fiance took me here for the first time and I loved it. Wow do they get busy! Serving sizes are HUGE, so becareful. Nearly everything is fried and covered in cheese, so if you are into healthy eating... not your place. Is it authentic mexican? I have no clue, nor do I care. Heck, Chimichanga's, found in many mexican restaurants are not authentic mexican. It makes them no less yummy. I also suggest the satelite restaurants... Sopapilla Express.

I love Mexican food and this was completely awful. The place was packed for lunch and still trying to figure out why. Service was average. Food was very below average. Chips were stale and salsa was boring. Ordered the chicken burrito and it was very bland. Forced half of it down because I was hungry but not worth the price. I will not go back.

This place is a hidden gem in Ohio. Nowhere else in the world can you get this exact recipe. My son worked here for several years until he went away to college. The sopapillas are uniqe, fresh & taste so good you have to try it to believe it! The salsa is legendary. I have friends who have moved away and still ask about this place. They say they miss the food here as much as their family! Service is always fast & friendly. Only downfall is that they do not accept credit cards. I guess with as much business as they get, they don't have to! Highly recommend, you cannot go wrong no matter what you order.

Not your typical Mexican food but that's what makes it so great. Can't go wrong with a beef and cheese sopapilla with green chili sauce. The green chili is the key. Make sure you have cash because credit is not accepted. They have an ATM just in case. If you're in the mood for desert, they have desert sopapilla's too. Have fun and enjoy.

This is where I go EVERY time I visit home. There is nothing like a beef and cheddar sopapilla with sour cream, lettuce, tomato and their signature salsa! This place never disappoints........ even if they still don't accept credit or debit cards in 2014.

This is totally a local place and I've yet to find anywhere else like it. We went for dinner on a Tuesday night and had no problems getting a table for 7 of us. The tables are covered in ads for local businesses and there are stereotypical Mexican sombreros hanging on the walls but I don't go for the décor. It's all about the sopapillas at Lapaloma's. Don't bother getting anything else because you can get a taco or burrito anywhere. We got some nachos as an appetizer. Very basic; chips with melted cheese and some jalapenos. I got the regular beef and cheese sopapilla and everyone else got a variation of the same. For those that don't know what a sopapilla is, it's basically a massive empanada: flaky dough with your choice of fillings, deep fried. They are served with lettuce and tomato, add some salsa and dig in. Yes, you will probably burn your mouth because you don't want to wait for it to cool off. And yes, you will feel fat after eating the whole thing but it's so good you won't care. True that there is no free chips like most Mexican places. And they charge extra for sour cream which is weird. The salsa is pretty mild so they could use a spicy version. Cash only but there is an ATM on site.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
