From the exterior, The Corner Restaurant doesn't wow you -- but that's exactly what makes it such an awesome find. An old "truck stop" along the heavily traveled US 224, The Corner provides an excellent blend of good old-fashioned diner food and specials that keep the lcocals coming back for more. For breakfast do not turn down the Biscuits and Gravy ($5.95) as it is made the old-fashioned way and that means it isn't perfect but tastes just like grandma's did. For dinner there are so many options but don't forget to grab a side order of their world-famous macaroni salad or cole slaw. Now I'm not a fan of macaroni salad, but you have to give the props when during breakfast on the fourth of July weekend there were at least a dozen people stopping in to pick up their macaroni salad orders. Excellent food, good value. Don't miss this place -- but be sure to bring cash as they don't take debit or credit cards.
