I've reposted hours, they are open in Sunday and shouldn't be missed! Delicious!!!! All you can eat breakfast.... We had sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, link sausage, bacon, fruit, eggs, and it was all so delicious we are until we were very full. Scanned the menu for the lunch and dinner as expected it is vast without being overpowering. Seems that what they serve they make sure they master it. The place is very clean. Bathrooms were also clean and spacious. Grill staff was also clean and the space was very clean. Kitchens aren't easy to keep clean. Lovely decor for a nice mix of industrial and chic.

Alone on my first visit couldn't believe how great everything was! 2nd visit brought coworker & she couldn't believe how great everything was! 3rd visit brought 3 coworkers & they couldn't believe how great everything was! They all commented how good the food tasted on their first bite! 4th visit the owner shyly sat down beside us & asked us why we didn't like our baked potatoes, we laughed, told her we were full & taking them home! We told her we found her on Yelp & she wasn't familiar with it but her daughter said its a good thing...we told her it was a great thing! Amazing place!

Wow! These folks know how to cook! This is an excellent place in an unlikely location, at the intersection of two busy highways in rural Harrison County, OH. My party of five, all of whom know and appreciate good food, were very happy with their choices from the fish sandwich to the chicken with roasted vegetables and mashed sweet potatoes to the pasta. And $2 beer on Tuesday night including a great selection of microbrews. A very pleasant place to sit and talk - clean, quiet and friendly. Don't be fooled by the exterior which looks like just another roadside bar - this is the real deal for food made by a real chef from high quality fresh ingredients. The ONLY thing I'd ding them on is the uninteresting roll provided with the salad - they should step that up to match the high standards of the rest of the fare. Will definitely go back if I'm ever again within 20 miles of Flushing, OH (nearest town).

This restaurant is amazing. Everything about it is 5 stars. The staff, the owner, the food.. top notch. My husband is very hard to please, and he said their steak is the best he's ever had. He was dishin' out compliments left and right. If you want fresh, delicious food, Food by Jane is the best choice.

I am bucking the trend here a bit. If I could I would give this place 3.5 stars, but will give it 4 stars because the place does have good food. My wife and I have been here twice and thought the service was too slow both times. Enough so that we skipped dessert both times even though we really wanted to get it. We just didn't want to wait around for it. There aren't many tables here and I would say about half were empty each visit. A bit understaffed maybe? We got the Italian sandwich this visit. It was good with a good amount of meat but was overpriced at $12, even with a side.

The Bourbon Chicken was very good. Very clean establishment and restrooms also. My son had the New Your Strip steak and said it was really good.

Ate there tonight and now I'm mad at myself for not going sooner. Small menu but everything I had was great. Blue cheese dressing tasted homemade. My steak and fish were cooked perfectly and delicious. I had the cherry crumble for desert and loved it. I'm not sure why they are at this remote location but you need to get there.

This place is the absolute best in the Ohio Valley. The menu frequently changes so it's never the same place twice. It's also kid friendly!

The food is good. I got an Angus burger with cheese and bacon with fries for the side. I also only had water to drink and the bill came to almost $13 It was a good burger and good sized but I'm not sure if it was worth $15 with tip for lunch. I'm a burger guy and as I said the burger was really good just a little spendy in my opinion which is the only reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars.

I could go on and on about this place, but to put it best, we were blown away. Everything we ate was top notch and everyone working (including the ever present owner) were extremely hospitable. It was just an overall perfect experience from appetizers, salads, to entrees, then desserts. Seriously one of the best meals I have had in a long time.

GO HERE!!! I'm sitting at the bar, and created a yelp account just so I could leave a review. I work in the oil/gas industry, in the middle of nowhere, Ohio. So, I am used to nothing but chains and walmarts. This place is. Amazing. It was only 4 minutes from the rig I work on, and I wish I had found it sooner. Everything is fresh, and delicious. Great atmosphere, and the staff is very nice. I can't believe this place exists where it does. Skip Clairsville if you're passing through, and get your ass to this place. It's not far from the exit.

Who would have thought you could find such AMAZING food at the inner section of a country road in Ohio?! The ambiance was excellent, the service was great, and the food was fresh. I had the prime rib and it was easily one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. The "Green Goddess" salad dressing was unlike any salad dressing I had tried before.

Wonderful!! Fresh, tasty..ample. We had the Texan half pound burger and I had a salad as the side. Perfect. Save room for desert..the blueberry pie was so homemade and hot with ice cream...!!!

Fantastic! We stopped at Jane's while traveling,, and I wished I lived closer! The hamburger was great - cooked perfectly and the homemade mac and cheese was wonderful. Our server was super friendly and helpful and I loved the ambiance. Highly recommend it!

We stopped in for lunch. Amazing fresh sandwiches and we were treated impecably by the whole staff. The freshness and taste of the food was amazing. i can see two things in their future. A move to a better and bigger location or a consistent packed house where they are now.

Excellent food everything tasted fresh. Would definitely come back. Staff very friendly. Had the grilled chicken parmigiano sandwich with fries. Finished with the warm apple dumpling which was good but a bit to sweet. Overall worth the detour

Not what anyone would expect considering it's surroundings. This restaurant is truly a gem. Fresh food, homemade pasta, wonderful ambiance, and the most personable owner you could ever meet. A bit pretentious considering it's location but anyone willing to try the food will fall in love and never want to go back to frozen guff or fast food that's down the road.

Had great meal last night. Herb Porkroast dinner with homemade mashed potatoes and southern corn. Had the bloody mary everyone is talking about. My dad had the angus burger and said it was the best burger he ever had? I mean he is in his 80s so that had to be an exaggeration. We all thought the food, service and atmosphere were great! My sister is going back for the grits tonight because Fridays are southern cooking nights. Nice alternative to the same old chain restaurants.

If you are traveling down I-70 and yelping for a decent place to eat, then stop by Janes. If you are hungry and several miles away, then wait and eat here. It will be worth the wait. Jane's food is fresh and perfectly prepared. When she heard that we were newbies, she brought over a sample of her Crab Bisque. I slid it towards me and when the smell got to my nose I knew that Maryland had nothing on Jane for fresh crab. We had stopped for a drink and wanted to share an appetizer. This of course did not happen. We had the Crab Cakes, GREAT!!! Next we ordered the Mussels in reduced crab sauce, GREAT!!! And finally we tried the Lamb, GREAT!!!! I have traveled all over the country and in many places around the world. I would put Jane's cooking up against anyone. And ask for the homemade Green Goddess dressing for your salad. It is an old family recipe from her uncle when he was a restaurateur.

EAT HERE! Drive the quarter mile past McDonald's to eat real fresh eggs and drink good coffee here served to you by a friendly waitress!

Some of the best food I've ever had. We were traveling on the highway and stopped here not knowing what to expect. I got the ribs and Mac n cheese but everything in the menu looked great. Wonderful service, friendly staff that definitely take the time to talk to their customers. I highly recommend coming here and we will come back on our way home! Reuben wrap - a+. Tennessee style chicken sandwich - 2 thumbs up.

I've from New York and it is impossible to find filet mignon for less than 40 dollars where I'm from. My friend and I dined there last night, both had steak, wine, and dessert, and our total was $45. Best filet mignon I've ever had!!!!! The staff was so friendly!!!! It made the trip to Ohio for us! Absolute must go to!!!!

The food was delicious and a great change from any fast food restaurant. A bit out of the way but worth it. Jane comes by and usually asks how it was....definitely would go back! One note: the lunch menu is serviced until 5pm. There are also special nights like Wed. is pasta night with fresh pasta. Not posted on this site but she is trying to get a website....that would be a big plus!

Food by Jane is amazing. The simplistic setting is paired with attentive service and an ever-changing, beautifully executed menu, sourced as locally as possible. If Jane is in the house when you stop by, she's sure to come to your table and say hello. This place is a rare gem in an area where quality cuisine is not so abundant!

Great place! Definitly eat here. My hubby ate dinner here when he got stuck in town with a broken down motorcycle. Then he took me here for lunch when I drove from NJ to rescue him. Hubby loved the pulled pork Alfredo. Menu items are unique, tasty and use fresh ingredients. Owner is very customer focused.

Very cute decor, quality delicious food and good service. More expensive than a typical diner, but much better food than anything else you'll find if you're traveling across I-70.

Always a great menu and meal! The service, the food and the presentation are wonderful. Don't be surprised if the owner stops in at your table to check in on you.

Just stopped there en route to our midwest destination. Used Yelp to find nearby restaurants as we drove. Looking for something other than a chain, this one stood out to me even though there was only one review at the time. This was a fantastic find. Hubby had the steak fajita wrap special and he said it was wonderful. Daughter had the clam chowder and it was great. I know because I snuck a taste. Son opted for the pb&j which was on the kid's menu and made with nice bread. Hubby and son's meals came with house made rippled potato chips. I chose their southern special of shrimp with cheese grits. They were amazing. I kept stealing chips from my son to scoop up the grits. I had decaf coffee and it was excellent. Our server brewed a new pot for me. The owner came by to check on how we liked the meal. She was absolutely charming. The decor is great. Nice and tasteful furnishings and decorations while still being warm and inviting. They also have a liquor license and their drink specials sounded wonderful. I saw someone with a martini and it looked good. This is a location we will definitely stop at again and again. This is one of those rare two thumbs way up type of locations. Lunch for two adults and two kids was $30 with tax. If you have the opportunity to try Food By Jane, don't miss it.
