When I'm in town my weekend spot. Great fish sandwiches

A decent little place with a very commercialized pub feel. Their beer selection is decent and their food is what you would expect as far as selection and style. Ordered the pub pretzels which were good, but not outstanding. Then decided on the sausage flatbread which was too sweet between the onions and sausage. It desperately needed some spice to liven it up and elevate it above what I would get from a frozen food sausage pizza. I will say the service was great and the waitresses are some of the most beautiful and nicest I've met. Come here for the drinks and service, not the food

Try the goat cheese dip!!!!! Usually I come here with a large group after work. Last night, my boyfriend and I stopped in for a few beers and a bite to eat. Our server was wonderful. He helped me find a delicious porter, and also recommended other ones for us to look for, based on our taste. Food was prompt, and he gave us several refills of the pita (that comes along with the AMAZING goat cheese dip.) Not typical bar food at all...everything I've had here is tasty. Obviously the atmosphere is a bit different depending on whether you go during a busy or quiet night. It was very pleasant on a Tuesday night! But regardless of when I come here, I always have a good time.

I had the tuna tacos and the chef and waitress were very accommodating for my celiac disease. I am very appreciative of this and the fact that they helped make suggestions for alternatives to items with gluten! They were very knowledgeable of celiac disease and the restrictions. The food was delicious, my husband said it was the best battered fish he has ever had!

This place was ok... Nothing great about it. Typical "Brit style bar". I ordered the pecan salad and it was drenched in the dressing, which I asked to be put off to the side. The chicken wings though we're delicious! Dirty martini was a dirty martini, nothing special about it. Our waitress was attentive and nice, but felt pressured to drink or buy more food/drinks. So that was annoying. But the mall area here was nice! So that's a plus!

The Pub is one of my favorite spots at the Greene. Walking in, you feel as if you have left the US & stepped into the UK. They always have an excellent beer selection & I have never had disappointing food. The Pub does so much right!

Being from the chicken capital of the world, Barberton Ohio I'm always looking for a good substitute in this area. The pub has the best chicken I've found out here. The tenders are soaked in buttermilk and then fried. It's a must try if you love chicken as much as I do.

I found The Pub when I found The Greene Town center shopping center...and I am glad I did. Went there last night, and enjoyed great service, a Scotch Egg, a nicely portioned fish & chips (Haddock filet), and a pint of Smithwicks (on draught.) Guess I'm not much of a fan of scotch Eggs, but the F&C was good, and always love my fave Smithwicks. The service was excellent, and the interior of the place was real cute...great decorations, and an outstanding traditional British bar. Very authentic looking...would love something like that in my rec room downstairs! I've turned this restaurant on to my consulting team here in Dayton, and I am sure they'll patronize The Pub soon (if not tonight?) A bit on the noisy side...but hey, its a pub. Amongst the many flat screen TVs, I even found a flat screen TV that had a Rugby League ( nrl.com ) match playing between the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and the South Sydney Rabbitohs. If you think regular 15 man Rugby (Union) games are rough, you outta' watch 13-man Rugby league games out of Australia! Sheesh. I've be back for the food and the beer (and the Rugby!)

Fabulous service! Thanks Mike G & Libby for your reviews steering us to the right place to go on our short day trip. Went out to Dayton to pick up a certain limited edition Playstation which could only be found in Dayton. Hungry kiddo, irritated mommy who was not driving. Perfect stop? The Irish pub close by with bad reviews from our friends? No way, not when there was a British pub one exit away. Gorgeous patio, zero wait, awesome drinks, appetizer suggestion by our waitress was perfect. After a wine flight, I knew which wine to order there, nice and dry. The Shepherd's pie half order was just right for me, didn't need anything more and did not leave stuffed. Kiddo loved his mini burgers (with beer cheese dip), we left happy and satisfied, perfect end to a great day trip!

Always love going here. Only waited once to be seated, rarely more than 15 minutes to get my first beer and food, and the staff is always friendly. Just be aware: if you want a quiet, romantic atmosphere, this isn't it (probably). It's energetic, fun, and... unsurprisingly... quite loud. I recommend the Young's BBQ crisps and a Blacksmith (Guiness and Smithwick) to start, and then bangers and mash for the main course.

So, while I was at Wittenberg, I was lucky enough to study abroad in Liverpool, UK. I lived there for 5 months, taking courses in Medieval Literature and History, but I managed enough time to try out the restaurants and nightlife on Liverpool's High Street. And, if nothing else, it gave me a taste for two things: Indian food (seriously--chicken tikka masala is the most sold dish in the UK right now!) and traditional English fare. The Pub's claim to fame is that they're a traditional British-style pub with a few American trappings. And, even if they're not "authentic," The Pub definitely revels in Brit-culture. Waiters and waitresses are garbed in kilts and tartan, soccer's usually on the many TVs, and posters of The Who and The Rolling Stones cover the walls. One of the bigger tables in the dining room is even themed as a "King's Table", replete with high-backed thrones. The food, though, is what matters most to me. The Pub features several traditional British classics, including bangers and mash, Scotch eggs, and that omnipresent classic: fish and chips. On our last trip there, Jules tried out one of The Pub's burgers: a lamb burger with sharp white cheddar and a cranberry/apple chutney, while I indulged in the fish and chips. Jules' burger looked *outstanding* and smelled even better. The flavors she described definitely make me want to try that one out on my next visit. And, after those fish and chips? There *will* be a next visit. My fish was exactly as I remember it from Liverpool, with a crisp breading and flaky, tender whitefish inside. One recommendation? Instead of getting the traditional tartar sauce, have your chips with some of the yellow curry sauce--that's the sort of thing that brings me right back to the UK! Oh, and the libations? Yes, they're plentiful and varied. The Pub has a massive bar and extremely well-trained bartenders who can serve a variety of well-drinks and are particularly well versed in the voluminous number of beers they have on draft and bottled. The Pub's definitely not for everyone. On weekends or during prime meal-times, it can be quite crowded and very loud. Also, the price can definitely deter some. For our two entrees, Jules and I paid $35, which seems a touch expensive for what's for all intents and purposes, bar food. That said, the quality really can't be beat. If you want a taste of Old Blighty in Dayton, this is the spot to go!

Great military discount! I found the food to be pretty good but not spectacular. The tacos would have been better if the tortillas weren't so thick and doughy in consistency. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone, especially military. Service was extraordinary.

  • A C.

Why the high turnover in staff here? All the good bartenders who have personality and a fun character keep leaving...also goes for some of the wait staff. Its not so great coming here anymore....used to be here frequently but now mostly disappointed. Management issues? Hostile work place? Something behind the scenes is wrong here. Menu update needed again. I don't come here to eat anymore.

The service from Heather is always phenomenal! When you come in ask for her. Monday night is trivia night and she usually works.

So much of a review truly depends on what you order and when you go... We've been here before (weekend, of course) when it's been ridiculously/predictably overcrowded and it would have been a MUCH better idea to have gone someplace else (or stayed FAR away from the Greene...) but this place was beyond great for a Wednesday night birthday dinner for Mr. M&P and I, and so there was no WHINING while we were dining!! Great atmosphere here's a given (beautiful wooden bar, cozy pub-like nooks and crannies, cool British musical hits past and present, authentic decorations...), just about a million and one beer/drink choices (I had the BEST cider I've had in ages!!) The very helpful/knowledgeable waitress assisted the Mr. with his monumental beer choice (and his obligatory viewing of her perky, mini-kilted "posterior assets," (while the kilted gents weren't too shabby themselves...!!). We had a beer cheese w/hot pretzels and veggies for an appetizer (next time want to try the goat cheese app.) and I "splurged" and had a bowl (too small!!!) of the most amazing pumpkin soup I've had in FOREVER...!! I might have licked the bowl clean if it were a "bit" more socially acceptable...!! I had a spinach salad w/grilled chicken (trying to be good...) and he had fish and chips, which looked good/not too greasy. We had a free b.o.g.o. entrée since the Mr. registered on their website, and got a free b-day meal (good deal!!!) AND a free dessert...!! They've got trivia during the week, some local musicians coming in to play every now and then, a nice outdoor space that's even heated for dining "al fresco," and all the crazy crowds for the weekenders, if that's what you're into... All that and M/F "kilties..." Who can ask for more?!?

I have never had a bad experience here. The food is tasty. The deserts are great. My only complaint is that the brunch Bloody Mary menu is no longer available.

An out of towner looking for good digs in Ohio. I came across The Pub and decided to give it a try. It was a Sunday around lunchtime, not too crowded. I was immediately greeted and seated. It's a neat restaurant with a large bar, TVs on the wall, good for big groups, low-key ambiance. A server came by within minutes, gave beer recommendations (which was very welcome considering their booklet of beers available!), and even offered a sample to make sure it was to my liking before ordering. I had the fish n' chips, which was yum. I was impressed with the fish - it was your usual fried haddock, but it was super moist and flaky, the batter thin and crispy. Came with fries and coleslaw, which were your typical, run-of-the-mill sides, but still tasty. Overall, had a pretty good first experience here with the service and food, would definitely come back for another go around!

Great beer selection, food is decent; but service is terrible. I've been watching my server sit up at the bar for an hour. Literally. An hour now and 4 servers are just hanging out and talking. She's never come by and asked how we are doing , nothing. This place doesn't deserve service this bad.

I was here a few Sundays ago for a brunch and I will say that I was not highly impressed. The menu is small and does not even offer any traditional British pub food. They offer brunch but the menu is very limited. I feel like they could do a better job and expand that since they only offer brunch on Sundays. I had the Corned Beef sandwich and it was fine nothing to write home about though. I will say that we had excellent service and our waitress was fantastic. From what others in our group said the Pub is best at night, which I cannot comment on since I've never been. I would think that with the extensive drink menu it's probably more of a place to grab a drink and chill with friends then eat at. Personally for the price we paid there are way better places in the Greene then the pub.

I got some wings from here to go and while I waited, watched some college football. There are TVs here but not as wide spread at other bars, so it may not be the best place to catch a game. The beer and drink selection was great though. the theme of the restaurant is true to form as even the male employees wear kilts. I waited about 10 minutes for the wings and was treated very nicely during that time. If this is any indication, the service is great. As for the wings themselves, they were fairly meaty and the sauce not too much, but not to little. However, it lacked boldness. That is the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review. The price was very reasonable. A great place to come if you're at the Greene!

Solid fish and chips, nothing ground breaking though. yelp.com/biz_photos/ROA0… I probably would have liked it better if I got a beer.

The Pub is a great place to hang out with a group of friends or just to have a bite. The first time I came here was after a comedy show at the Funny Bone. The place was packed but we were able to get a table. The decor is very interesting. Some tables have gigantic chairs that remind me of royality. Some of the guys are wearing kilts and some of the girls wear really short skirts..... and some of the girls really shouldn't wear those skirts... really, some should just stick with jeans or maybe wear dark tights.. =\ The second time I came here I stopped by for lunch with my husband. Thankfully our waitress was wearing jeans. She was a bit awkward though. We ordered the Spinach & Artichoke dip and it was incredible. Really hot, gooey and just yummy all around. He ordered the London Broil which I thought was pricey for the amount of food. He enjoyed it though. I ordered the Asian Seared Ahi Tuna and it was just ok. Very small amount of food but it was just $10. I was still hungry so I ordered the Whiskey bread pudding... it was amazing! He ordered the warm cookie sundae and it was really hot and delicious. Everything came out to $50. Not bad, will definitely return.

I've been to The Pub twice and have enjoyed both visits. Once I was with one other person and once with two others. Both times everybody was very happy with food, service and the atmosphere. The food was quickly delivered and everyone stated how good it was. Also, they have an extensive beer menu (and the architecture of the bar is worth seeing). The service is also great. We will be going back!

I really wanted to like this place...but I was really unimpressed. I visited The Pub with a large group of people - most of the people in my group had only drinks here, then went elsewhere for dinner afterwards. I ordered the ham and cheese with Guinness onions on pretzel bun, but it looked more appetizing than it tasted. Unfortunately, the best thing about the sandwich was the pretzel bun. The sandwich was heavy and kind of greasy, so I am happy I was able to order a side salad instead of fries to lighten up the meal. I would come back for the beer, but not the food.

There are very few places like this in the area. The next closest thing I would have to say would be the irish pub in the Oregon District. I absolutely love the atmosphere, and the feeling you get when you walk into the place. For the first time going there I actually went with the intention of eating dinner, and I ordered the Fish & Chips and my wife ordered the Ham sandwich on a pretzel, and they were both amazing. The beer was great $4.00 for a 20oz Stella seemed to be a good deal to me... next time I go back I am getting the Stone Brewery Ale. It was kind of loud, when we first got there but it is a pub afterall. If your looking for a great place to hang out, or bring out of town guests.. this is the best ticket in the Miami Valley. --Scott

Tonight my Mom and I stopped by The Greene after a day of shopping. We were hungry for a bite & picked The Pub. At first we were told it would be a 30 minute wait for two and were considering if we should wait, but then a manager came by and had a table for us. Our waitress was very friendly, pointed out a few popular items on the menu fish & chips, chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie. I've visited the Pub at Rookwood, but just for drinks. I selected the Southwest Turkey Panini on pretzel bun and Mom selected the Welsh Dip Pub Pretzel sandwich. After a recent visit to Ireland I was longing for a half & half - Guinness and Harp. My Mom her usual Coke, which she said their fountain coke was really good, close to Frisch's her favorite. Our food was served within ten minutes of ordering. The turkey was piled high and lots of guacamole on the panini, just right on the pretzel bun. Mom enjoyed the Welsh dip sandwich, lots of au jus and a side salad with lots of fresh colored peppers. Several times throughout the meal our waitdress checked on us making sure everything was okay, great food, service and drinks on a Saturday night.

Went here for lunch on Saturday and had a great french dip on pretzel bread. The drinks are pricey but the mojito I got was damn good. The woodwork was beautiful and all the British memorabilia was kitschy but fun.

a uk themed pub that is an american chain but the events give it some personalized/local feel. i like the dayton location a bit better than rookwood. love the great selection on tap (favorite is belhaven) and a really nice whiskey menu for those who can't just glance at the bar (beginner friendly). friendly waiters seem to know their stuff. the gimmick here is that the servers all wear kilts. yes, that means the ladies can be a bit of fun with your guy friends but it does make some people uncomfortable. i really like the place and they even have good food though its very expensive/smaller portions.

Went here with a friend who was stationed in England and loves it. He says it's very British. I guess I wasn't expecting the guys to be in kilts...but enjoyed that. Female wait staff wore strange (but very short) skirts. Guys were liking that. Food choices were interesting...dips looked wonderful, but this wasn't a lingering kind of lunch so I moved on. Menu was large, first 5-6 pages were food then 16 pages of beers and other drinks. Oh yeah, its a Pub. Not much of a beer drinker, Kilt boy probably laughed inside when I asked for a Blue Moon. He suggested a 312 Urban Wheat Ale from Goose Island. Think I would have preferred Grey Goose but it was lunch... Had a ham, cheese and chutney on panini. Again, ham is an odd choice for me, but boy was it good. 5 stars for the sandwich. Comes with either chips (french fries) or crisps (potato chips). Ordered chrisps but got chips, and boy were they good (so I didn't complain) Sandwiches come with fried pickle...heavy on the batter. Wasn't a fan...pulled my pickle right out of the batter and then it was just a semi-warm shrivled pickle. Pickle had a good flavor, would liked to have had it in the original state. 2 beers, 2 sandwiches - $45 with tip. Good food, a little high. Service was excellent - right on. Return factor: 100%. I want to try the Goat Cheese Dip.

Now that my ears have stopped bleeding from the unbearable din, I feel that I should warn those interested in a meal away from this place. We went to The Pub for dinner on a Wednesday at 8pm. The live band was painfully loud. I'm not exaggerating when I say that we had to shout to hear each other across the table. We watched several groups walk in and almost immediately out holding their ears. The food was quite a disappointment, too. I ordered the Portobello wrap and I don't think it contained more than a few mushroom slivers, it was primarily filler. My husband had a similar experience with his ahi tuna wrap - or should I say Asian slaw wrap. There are some positives, they have a nice variety of beers on tap and our server was attentive. Bottom line: If you agree to go out with someone to whom you do not want to speak, this is the perfect place to take him. Just remember to bring ear plugs.

GREAT PLACE... I'm not from the area, but I would assume this is one of the better places to spend some time and drink some beer. We swung by here while we waiting for our table at Cheesecake and had a great time. Even though it was early in the evening, this place was packed with people from all ages and races; making a great experience. We had a few beers, bs'ed with each other and some others and enjoyed the scenery. The bartenders make life enjoyable (despite 1 bad beer rec as they don't carry Blue Moon) and dress for the men at the bar. The food looks edible, although we didn't have any. We look forward to coming back through a little later next time we are in town.

Came here with my husband and some friends late one Saturday night. Man, was this place packed!!! Sardine Can crowded for sure. Luckily, our friends had arrived earlier and managed to secure a table near the bar. The beer selection is pretty good- not the widest variety that I've seen around Dayton, but definitely a lot of good quality beers available. I highly recommend the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale- one of my friends ordered it and it was great! Great caramel color and flavor to this one! They have some interesting layered beers too- my husband ordered the Queen's Velvet, which is Breckenridge layered over Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Great combo, definitely worth trying. Since I was in the mood for some spirits, I went poking around the cocktail menu and decided on a French-Tini, which consists of Citrus Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur, and pineapple juice. The drink was delicious- light on the juice but no strong boozy aftertaste. Nice :) My husband and I also decided to try some of the pub grub and ordered a Corned Beef Reuben Panini, which is how this otherwise wonderful review became a 4-star review. The Panini bread was terribly burnt- we're talking blackened burnt. It wasn't impossible to eat, but it sure would have tasted a lot better if it wasn't burnt :/ Kinda disappointed by that. Overall, I really liked the drink selection. Definitely will come back. Probably not going to get a panini here though. I'll stick with the drinks.

This is a great place to get together with your friends. Also if you have a rather large party, you can call and ask them for a reservation and they'll hold the table for you! I got a party of 10 for 7pm on a Friday night! Pub Food is great and the selection is quite large! They also do flights of bourbon which is fun! I wouldn't recommend their margaritas though, it tasted like someone cried in my drink (yuck) (but then again don't get a margarita at a British pub, so my bad!) my dirty martini and beers were delicious!

An above average experience. The food was really good but the service was absent. My wife and I visited the Pub for an early dinner and a drink. Neither one of us had any complaints about the food, but the service was non-existent. It all started when the hostess went to seat us and stopped about 25 feet from the table and just pointed to booth she wanted us to sit at; very odd. Once we placed our order, we didn't see our server again until three-fourths of the way through the meal and then only asked if I wanted another beer and my wife another glass of wine; no inquiry about the food or if we needed anything else. We then didn't see her again until she dropped off the bill to the table, and again never asked about how the food was. The server was never rude or unpleasant, at least not during the two minutes worth of interaction we had with her during our 45-minute visit. I would return to The Pub because the food was decent and the atmosphere was nice, just hope service is available the next time.

I really love this place!!! Yes, its always crowded and loud and yes the girls might be dressed a little provocative but the food is amazing and the beer selection is too! I always, always order the welsh dip and the goat cheese appetizer!

  • Joy H.

Very good drinks. Can't say anything about the food because I've only had fish and chips but they're good. I've been here 5 times and every time I get terrible services. Except one really nice bartender and an okay waiter.

  • Matt R.

Great English-style pub in the middle of a huge shopping center. A local pointed me to the place, saying their fish & chips were great. I ended up getting the Shepherd's Pie, which was tasty and the epitome of comfort food. And since you're a good 'ole English pub, you gotta get a beer, mate! Look no further than the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, brewed in bourbon barrels and taking on the distinct deep caramel color and flavor. Served in a snifter glass to accentuate the flavors, this is a beer for sipping and enjoying. Sadly, a later internet search revealed it is not sold outside of Kentucky :-(, but I know what I'm buying on my next trip through the area! The bartenders wear kilts and soccuer jerseys! Oi!

This place is what an American sitcom thinks England is like. If you want to spend a lot of money pretending to be British, this is the place for you! You'll see men in kilts! Women... also in kilts! Short ones! Everything that can be made out of wood is! And it's stained very dark! Instead of random crap on the wall, there's random English-themed crap! The giant TVs only sometimes show baseball! If you're really craving some English/Irish/Scottish/Something culture, The Pub is the place for you (to spend a lot of money)! On the bright side: Young's Double Chocolate Stout is on tap.

I'm definitely a fan of The Pub! At first when i was told we were going to 'the pub' I thought it would be just some ordinary hole in the wall bar. When we drove up to the Greene shopping center, I knew it would be a little more than just a dive bar. The atmosphere was live. It was a mixture of business professionals enjoying happy hour and a college crowd just hanging out.. The music was awesome and the fish and chips were amazing!!! Actually our entire group ordered the fish and chips and everyone enjoyed. The fish wasn't overly fried, the entire dish was nice and crispy.. yumm The beer selection was good, nothing too exciting. Staff was good at keeping us with a cold brew in hand. A MUST to visit when you're in the area

  • Leslie L.

I hate the food here. Ugh. The drinks are great, though, and it's a fun place to hang out. So, I can't complain, too much. The waitresses outfits and such remind of being in a Hooters. An English Hooters.

I grew up in the Beavercreek area so I have visited The Green quite often. My coworkers and I would go to The Pub after work and I absolutely loved it! I love the decorations, and the tall Gothic-style chairs and table is my favorite place to sit. The service is pretty good but some of the girls in those short skirts take the attention too seriously and come off a little snobby. But really haven't had that problem too much. My all-time favorite item on their interesting menu is the fried pickles!! I have a problem with finding fried pickles in the Akron area so when I travel back home I hit up The Pub for them! They are excellent!! The food in general is really good, the beer selection is great and the place has always been packed every time I've been here. I love the atmosphere in this place and must say it is my favorite restaurant/bar in Beavercreek.

  • Glenn W.

Love the Pub. They have an excellent beer selection, the bar staff is usually prompt and friendly, and the look of the place is top notch. If only the food was a little better. If you are going to eat, go for the pub pizza. It's probably the tastiest thing on the menu, aside from a nice Fuller's ESB. During happy hour 20 oz pints are just $4

  • Kevin B.

Visiting from LA, I've seen my fair share of decent concepts that turn into douchey bars with overly entitled staff prancing around. Looks like this can happen in Beavercreek too. I've been here a few times and the one thing that stands out to me is that the service staff is surprisingly annoyed if someone happens to be standing in their way and incredibly rude in asking people to move to the side. Maybe that wasn't apparent when they applied to work at a bar...where people tend to stand around and talk to their friends. Get over yourselves ladies, you wear a short skirt and serve drinks at a fake british pub. If I wanted to see girls in short skirts, I'd go to Frickers...and hey, the servers there are actually friendly too. On an high note, the selection of beers isn't too bad...if only you didn't have to talk to the service staff to get one.

  • Andrew S.

Surprisingly excellent food and drink in the middle of Ohio. The selection of beer on draft is terrific, and drafts are $4 (for a pint that appears larger than the typical American bar "pint" but smaller than the english pint) on Tuesdays! Yeah, they aren't hand drawn like at real english pubs, but still, the beers are excellent. I had the pretzel dip sandwich. Meaty and excellent.

Stopped by the Pub again after a long hiatus. If you are going on a weekend night, expect to be standing around awhile, no one ever seems to leave! The appetizers are SOO good. Try the calamari, or the cheese bollocks - probably the best 'mozzarella sticks' I've ever had! Once again, the servers are friendly and cool.

We have dined here quite a few times in the past. Service has been hit or miss. We have had them ignore our table because our server thought it was one of the servers tables. Our last one would flit up to the table and spend just a few seconds then bounce off. She spoke in a Seinfeld-esque "quiet talker" voice. It didn't help that the music is way too loud. I know, its a Pub, but lets face it, it is more of a Pub themed chain restaurant. Was hard to even have a conversation at our table. Our waitress put in my father in laws order wrong because she could not hear what he asked for. Food has always been acceptable. I am not a big fish eater, but I do enjoy the fish and chips. My wife got the pot roast and was tender and would go back to try it myself. I really like the bbq sauce that the put on their chips as well. Overall, not a bad place to go. Gets points for food, loses for service and too loud of music.

The waitress was nice, service was quick. The live music was far too loud for the few amount of people in the bar and the time of day (Wed. 7p). Skip the ahi tuna wrap as it needs 2x the tuna.

Tough to review this one. I took my wife there last year, in July, for the first time on her birthday. It was a Friday night about 5 or 6 and we had a about a 10 minute wait. The food was perfectly portioned and cooked. The beers were very interesting. We got the sampler and I largely enjoyed them. Our server was helpful and had just the right amount of availability. She wasn't pestering us but kept checking on us to make sure we were happy with our meals. We liked it so much that we went back the week after. We went back the following Wednesday and were told that we would be waiting 45 minutes for a table. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory instead.

I was charged an extra $1.25 above the $6.25 something price for ordering a shot of Jim Beam (I still got the receipt.). I was told it was because a shot there is more than on ounce, the shot glass in front of me when the bill came was definitely an ounce. This was verified by two other members in my party. The service was also not very good.

Fish and Chips...very good...just like the old Arthur Treichers chain, but bigger, fresher. Otherwise..LOUD, English themed bar. Try the bourbon barrel beer.

I'm still looking for an authentic British Pub and I'm afraid I'll never find one in the States. But still, I like the Pub. I usually go to the one up at Polaris but this one is a lot of fun as well! The boy and I came here to watch the USA v Ghana World Cup match, and I'm pretty sure that half of Dayton came out here too! In fact, we were told walking up there that it was full and we'd be better off someplace else. But we didn't listen and headed on in anyway. =) I'm so glad we did. Yes, it was packed. There wasn't a seat in the place but they brought in extra TVs so there were lots of vantage points to stand around. The bar staff was brilliant in handling the large crowd of people all wanting beers and we were fortunate to meet a couple at the bar that actually wasn't there to watch a game. After they were done eating, they gave us their seats and we were all set to order some nosh! We ordered the dip sampler tray with 3 kinds of dip and toasted pita squares. It was good, but I'm not sure that it was worth the $15! I was expecting much more for that price. The pizza of the day that we ordered was excellent for about the same price and I would definitely recommend the pizza over the dips. They have such a large selection of beers that I could never get bored here and the crowd is wonderful specially if you're here to watch a match with like minded fans. Even though the USA didn't win, we got to enjoy it with a great crowd with pint in hand!

I lived in England and visited many pubs ( so Proud!) I usually like the more local variety instead of the posh ones. The PUB is beautiful inside and parts of it remind me of an actual British Pub. I LOVE MEN IN KILTS so I love the scenery here. I personally think the girls look cute in their short skirts but sometimes my fish and chips don't need a side of ass cheek to be delicious. Love the beers, couldn't care less that they don't have Blue Moon....(is this that big of a deal people? Try something different!) I love how busy and vibrant the atmosphere is. Great food, great drink.....and men in KILTS! YES!

I do enjoy the look and the feel of the Pub. In knowing it is not the real thing, it definitely keeps with the theme really well. The food is good, and the english beer selection is good. The cost to have lunch is a bit high, but clients will think you are hip.

Fish and Chips were great but my wife who doesn't eat very much ordered the Salmon and left hungry. IT looked really good but the portion and the veggies to go with it were skimpy. Left and topped it off with a killer brownie from Dorthy Lane market.

The first time I went to The Pub I had the fish and chips, and I wasn't really a fan, so I did not go back for awhile. Mu husband and I decided to try it again earlier this summer and it was WONDERFUL! I had the roast beef sandwich on the pretzel bun, and it is the best sandwich I have ever had. I am really glad we decided to give it another shot. Their sandwiches are great. I also like going on Sunday when they have their Bloody Mary Bar. I know my husband enjoys their large beer selection as well. They are really good about letting you sample a beer beforehand to see if you like it as well.

Can I just say this is such a great bar! I thought I had made a mistake about coming here on St. Patrick's Day, but I had a great experience. I was expecting waiting at the bar for a hour for a Guinness and I thought the service would be terrible, but I was completely wrong. Our waitress brought our drinks quickly and the food was quite good. I had the lamb slliders with cranberry chutney. It was the perfect bite of food to accompany my Guinness. They had a band playing live music and the bar was lively and a great atmosphere. I would so go back, not just for St. Patty's Day, but a casual Saturday afternoon or even if I wanted a crazy night out on the town!

The Pub is good for trivia and half off pretty decent fish & chips on Monday nights. They have a limited beer selection. Their fish and chips are good, but I haven't had anything else from their menu that I've been particularly impressed with. Their calamari was terrible, but I guess that's my fault for ordering calamari from an English Pub hundreds of miles away from any ocean. If you are going there on Monday night, you might want to make a reservation, as it gets pretty crowded.

Almost hate to review a chain, but there's not denying good beer and good food. Top-notch import draft selection, focusing on UK and Ireland. Good ambience. ALWAYS crowded. I'm a fan of the Fish & Chips (and this is the only place I eat fish), but all the food I've had is good.

Nothing so reassuring as a British-style pub. How lucky we are! I have darkened their doorway twice now and can confirm this pub is a dream come true for this Brit. I have always thought that a good Americanized replica of a British pub would go over well in the USA. Well, the owner of this small chain has finally done it! He has combined the best of the British pub (the bar architecture itself, the huge range of beers, whiskies, etc., the English-style pub food) with the best of the USA (great service, cute barmaids in mini-kilts sporting t-shirts with ribald English slang on the back, c.f., "Bollocks", "Wanker", etc.). The food is great too--the fish 'n chips passes my UK quality test. And the Bourbon Barrel Beer is just superb. (Be careful not to drink too much of it if driving--it is strong!) kentuckyale.com/kentucky…

I will keep it short and simple. If you visit the Greene, you gotta check out The Pub at list once. There are better restaurants than this one if you really hungry for some meet, but if all you want is a light dinner with few good drinks and watch a game on the LCD's, The Pub is your kinda place. The Decore is nice with a british feel to it, service is good, and the food is great as well (although portions are not too big). The only important thing to remember is that The Pub gets extremely loud on the weekends and sometimes on week nights. So plan your dinner earlier if you want it mellow. We had a dinner once on a weekday night and it was tolerable, on a different occasion we went for few drinks and it was chaotic without even a place to sit. I can't imagine how people could dine in that bloody craziness of huge drunken crowed standing everywhere. Other than that, way recommended. Check it out! Yalla Bye.

The Pub, Yes! Oh my goodness. I love the Pub. Ever since I tried it for the first time back in September I fell in love with it. I love the atmosphere, the bartender I usually get is the absolute best! (His name is Chris, if you go in...try and see if his name is on the list of bartenders bartending that night. He's usually there on Fridays and Saturdays) and I can't complain about the food either. I am in love with their Corned Beef Reuben Panini. It is delicious. I like that you have the option to put the thousand island dressing on your sandwich. It comes in a up next to your sandwich. I usually eat the panini without putting the dressing on it. The chips (french fries) are some of the best I've had. I'm not a huge fan of fries, but I can eat all of their fries and be completely satisfied with it. I usually come out to the Pub with one of my best friends and we'll get a few drinks and chat. We usually have the Pub be our girls night out. We always have a blast when we're out too! The one thing i wish was different about the Pub is that I wish the music they played was more English then American. They don't play a lot of English bands like The Beatles, The Stones, etc. They play more modern and pop music. Other than that, I feel like it's a fantastic place to go out for a few drinks.

Friends of ours brought us here for their famous fish and chips. They were fried in the traditional way with lots of greasy crust. I thought the portions were small by normal standards, but then again, I think most places have oversized portions. I was a little disappointed that for an English pub, the beer choices were a little lacking. Then again, maybe it's just they carried a lot of English ales of which I am not a big fan. They did have Dogfish Head on tap, so I was happy. The place was crowded when we arrived, but we were seated within 20 minutes on the patio shielded from the weather with heaters overhead. All in all, it was a decent enough pub, and I'd try it again--preferably on a less crowded evening.

The Pub is my favorite bar in Dayton thus far. They have one of the better beer selections in the area. My faves are the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale (one of the more fascinating and flavorful beers I've ever had) and Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I've only been there on Friday evenings, and it's quite a happening spot (supposedly one of THE bars to be at in the area, from what I've heard). It's a large place--a great place to meet up with friends for drinks--but due to its popularity, it does get pretty crowded with waits. The food is quite good, especially for bar food. You can't go wrong with the Young's Double Chocolate Stout burger (ask for it on a pretzel bun--one of the workers there suggested that to me, and it was yummy!) or the Fish & Chips. Staff has also been super friendly every time I've gone.

It's been quite a while since my last visit to the Pub at the Greene, the last memory I had of it was that of mediocrity, nothing out of the ordinary. Since my last visit, my wife and I have found a new appreciation for some of the subtleties that make for a good experience in the areas of dining, service, drink selection, etc. Blah, Blah, so now let's get to the review! Went at dinner time and found there was no wait at all, we were seated on their patio which was indoor actually. They had some massive heaters mounted to the ceiling that made me feel as if my head was going to melt, the waitress very promptly turned it down and the temperature was again comfortable. The service was fantastic, she was always right on cue and we never felt like she was hovering or had forgotten about us, good job! The beer selection was right up there with Chappy's Tap room (not quite but almost!), what we did like was that you could make a sampler out of any of their beers, Chappy's does not offer this and only has pre determined samplers. The food came out very quickly and everything was cooked well, the fish and chips were great, crispy and not too greasy. Overall we very much enjoyed the Pub, I can imagine this place getting really crowded later on but our experience was very positive! We'll be back!

Its a great place to have a pint and watch a football (soccer) match. I love the atmosphere and its kind of loud, but that's a good thing. You have to try Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale (KBB) wow. Fish & Chips are ok, and Bangers & Mash are pretty good, Excellent Pretzel sandwich!!. Service is always good (Rachel / Andrew) Great place to hang out with friends.

Great beer selection and good food. Fish and chips are OK, just tell them you want it extra crispy so it doesn't come out greasy. Pot roast pretzel was awesome.

To quote the famous Guiness television ads..."Brilliant!" The Pub is my favorite place to eat in the area. It's fun atmosphere is eclectically British, with elements of both traditional (i.e. the building itself) and campy (i.e. the monstrous Union Jack painted on the ceiling & the various framed pictures around the restaurant). The staff are very friendly and usually quite knowledgable about the food and spirits. They all dress in kilts, that the men wear with custom rugby jerseys and the women wear with custom t-shirts. The magnificent bar dominates the restaurant. It's a handcrafted wooden thing of beauty that houses more spirits than the amityville horror house. Not sure of what another reviewer meant by their lack of variety of beer...The Pub has a "Beverage Bible" at each table that lists all that the bar has to offer, as well as some interesting trivia, toasts, and tidbits. There are quite a few beers on tap, more than most places I've been & more interesting of a variety as well. They also have one heck of a selection of whiskeys, if that suits you better than a good pint. The food is fantastic. Large portions abound. The starters are big enough to share, if you're generous. (I won't tell if you want to be greedy & keep it all to yourself, though.) As for the main courses: the fish & chips are amazing. I have friends that say they hate fish, but always order the fish & chips at The Pub. It's especially good when you pour over some malt vinegar. The pot roast is a favorite of mine...served over a pile of mashed potatoes, the beef is extremely tender and is in a mouth-watering bordelaise sauce with fresh peas. They also serve several other British pub favorites, such as Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie...both are fabulous. For the vegetarians in the crowd...the Portabello Mushroom sandwich is fantastic. Desserts are to die for. My favorite is the Tipsy Laird, which is a fried poundcake with english custard and brandy soaked berries. Deeeelicious. The downside of The Pub (if you want to call it a downside) is that it can get quite noisy in the evenings when it gets (sometimes very) crowded. That just lends itself to the fun & authenticity of The Pub, though, in my opinion.

Went for lunch this past weekend with the fiance and her aunt. Large, impressive bar and of course lots of British decor. The food was good, we had both fish sandwiches and her aunt had a burger. It's a little pricey but not cost prohibitive. They have a lot of good beer available, and some interesting Guinness combos that go above and beyond your boring black and tan (try the Bumblebee). Another plus in my book is that they have Coke in bottles from Mexico (a bit pricey at 2.75 per), but the cool thing is that there is no high fructose corn syrup for the nutritionists out there. It's cane sugar, as many countries do not use high fructose corn syrup ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hi… ). Service was decent, although the hostess wouldn't seat us at a low table as there were "none availabe", which in this case translates to "I don't want to have to clear a table for you." On the way out, both hostesses were sitting on the floor talking to a friend. As someone working in a service industry I have to take some points off for this kind of stuff, sorry Pub. Overall pretty good, 3.5 stars.

I'm going to be a little conservative with the rating because I was out for a walk and doing some shopping and just popped in for a black & tan and some carry-out but I definitely want to go back and spend some time here. The decor is great. Dark wood with a huge and very well stocked bar right in the center of the space is very inviting. I walked in around 11:30am or so and ponied up to the bar to place my order. There was one other patron flying solo at the bar and a few tables but fairly empty, but it was MLK Day so some people had to work. It took a few minutes for the bartender to take my order. It seemed like he was in the process of stocking the bar. My black & tan came back well poured and having it before noon made it taste better. It took about 15 minutes to get my order for fish & chips. My order came with one very large piece of battered haddock. it was like 10 inches long and substantial. The chips were thick and well prepared. They could've been a little crisper but it was probably the steam from the to go box. My meal came with a cup of coleslaw which was alright but nothing wow and homemade tartar sauce. As far as flavor, portion and price everything is good. I'll definitely be back to try a few more things because this place definitely has potential to become a favorite.

Excellent food and even better service! I highly recommend the Belhaven burger, it's fantastic! The Fish and chips are "out of the world" Excellent! You will NOT be disappointed with either choice. Service was phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal! It says a lot about a waitress when she not only remembers you from your last visit (months ago), but recalls what you ordered and drank as well. Although we weren't seated in her section, Christa took our drink order and chatted for a bit before handing us off to another wonderful waitress, Angel. Excellent dining experience! Angel , our server, was as friendly as she was professional. Can't say enough about how well we were taken care of. Angel was attentive and timely, checked on us several times throughout our meal. Spot on excellent service, and great food, is what you can expect.

This is still one of my favorite places to eat in Dayton because the food is consistently good and they make a great Cosmo. However, it had been a few months since I last visited and today I discovered they discontinued their weekend brunch menu. I was a little disappointed because I had my taste buds set for some kind of breakfesty item for lunch today. I fell back on my standard fish and chips which was great as always. This may not be a decision breaker whether to eat here or not, but if you have leftovers you want to take with you, they actually take your plate away and transfer them for you and bring it back in a handy bag instead of throwing the container at you and letting you fumble around. They also ask if you want extra condiments to take with you.

Over ratted. The beer selection is no different then buffalo wild wings. The Pub used to be a good place to go for craft beers and good food. Now, it's a spot where people go to pretend to be british, and look at girls in short skirts. Food is bad and expensive for the quality. Better places at the greene to go to then The Pub. Check out Pies n pints or EO Burger.

I'll rank this as A-OK because I do like it here, but I never think to myself, "Man, I really need to go to the Pub". Food: The food is good. The fish and chips are great. Someone complained about them once. Maybe they don't taste traditional? I don't know and don't care: I like them. I had the curry dip as an appetizer once and I remember that being good too. Drinks: They have a good selection of beer, but drinks here are steep. Unnecessarily so. My friend ordered some Glenfiddich and it came out to $12 for a shot's worth. I know the brand is pretty decent, but $8 or so would seem a little more reasonable. Atmosphere: Nice atmosphere. Kind of crowded sometimes. Definitely a nice place to go to meet good looking people.

The food is a bit over priced and under portioned, especially their happy hour specials, which seem like about half off for slightly less than half orders of appetizers. But they have a decent selection of UK beers on tap and their burgers are good with a great atmosphere.

I was very excited to give this place a try... but left very unsatisfied and disappointed. We were seated right away but it was very cramped. People from the bar next us kept touching me throughout my dinner and if felt as though we only had an inch apart. The pretzel appetizer was good but I hate horseradish and i got no warning that the mustard has it in there. Very disappointed about that, the alternate dipping sauce provided was ok but on the sweet side. Meanwhile the whole interior was so hot and humid, and it smelled like sweat. I ordered a burger and it was ok. Nothing award winning, I wasn't a fan of the Chocolate Stout BBQ sauce in the least though and had to load up on ketchup to drown out some of that taste. I also thought the bacon tasted funny. I never complain to wait staff or send back food in a restaurant though so I ate it. Our server was nice enough and did ok, I did think it was strange that there was no standard skirt. Some looked really nice and professional in these plaid skirts that went down to the knee. Others looked a little on the trashy in super short mini skirts that didn't even match the theme. (We saw some butt cheeks from these super short skirt girls, not sure if they were aware they were showing so much.) Bonus points if you're only going for the girls I guess. (Lol) Overall if you're going for the drinks I can't comment, but as far as the food and experience goes I wouldn't want to go back nor would I recommend it. If I ever do get dragged back with friends I hope it is a better experience. Edit: Fixed some typos and wording.

The Pub. Is it authentic? Hell no. It's a middle aged American's vision of what a British pub would be. Think Disney / Epcot with a splash of The Tilted Kilt thrown in for good measure and you're in the right frame of mind. Skimpy kilt wearing guys and girls all around. Can be good for the eyes but frankly, it's usually not. There's lots of The Beatles, The Stones, and portraits of Her Majesty everywhere. What? No David Bowie? Don't miss the giant Union Jack painted on the ceiling. I am surprised they don't break into singing "God Save the Queen" from time to time. Life is good here in Londayton, UKUSA. That being said, it's a cool place to go eat and get your drink on. There's lots of ornate woodwork, ( really, really impressive bar area ), a very nice patio and a really interesting area to the side that they can open up so you're "outside" but still under the roof. The food is kinda hit or miss. Fish and Chips though are about the best I've ever had. They have a very good selection of English, Scottish and Irish beers and ales. They are really generous about giving out samples too if you want to try something before buying. I do recommend you come early to get a good seat. This place gets BUSY with the after work crowd! Well, Bob's your uncle. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get off me bum and go and spend a penny. Now where's that loo?

Don't be like me and bring your highly conservative Christian parents to this place because you'll never hear the end of it. "You brought us to a brothel to have dinner!" That's a direct quote from my Mom. I forgot the waitresses wear short skirts and thigh highs. And while my husband and to my utter shock my Dad seemed to enjoy it my Mom did not. She's a stick in the mud! Lol Aside from my crazy parents we all did agree the food was decent but nothing to write home about. It can get pretty loud after dinner hours and watch out for random drunk people in the parking lot. We saw 2 about get run over! Anyway it's a fun place to meet up with friends and to stop on a bar crawl.

Been to The Pub several times and the food is always spot on. They have a great menu with some British classics like fish and chips, shepherds pie and bangers and mash. On my most recent visit I had their pot roast which was fantastic, washed it down with a delicious Bass ale. They have a really good beer selection too. The Pub is popular, i.e. it's crowded pretty much all the time. We went their on a Saturday at 6pm and there was a 30 minute wait for a table! I recommend you find a nice place at the bar and enjoy a meal there. The bar is service is quick and friendly.

The bar manager/lead bartender is great but the wait staff were mad shitty. These chicks straight stole our drinks while we went out for a smoke, then when we asked if they took our drinks said "I don't know, WE didn't take it." Then these girls laugh behind my back. Mad shitty dude. But we told the bartender what happened and she hooked us up. Dope bar tending yo.

The Pub is lively with music and is always filled with people in the evening. As my friends and I meet for a lovely evening, we're usually seated in the outdoor patio area. My favorite appetizers are the "summer tuna salad" sandwich and curry chips/fries. I love how every bite of the fries dipped in curry tastes. I'd visit just for this appetizer! Service: friendly and quick Atmosphere: lively and loud. think football crowd\ & blasting music Food: unique and bold tastes, pricey (but worth it occasionally) Coolness: Old-world English decor

It's good! They have an amazing bar here (architectural wise, not sure about the actual drinks). The food is great and filling. I'd say it's a few bucks on the high side, but not bad. The only star I'd take off is for the wait. I went on a Tuesday night and it was busy. There is no waiting area, and they were asking for my cell phone number to notify me. I was not about to give that so I waited. It ended up only being 20 minutes out of the 45 quoted though.
