This was our second visit to Pies and Pints. We are not fond of sitting at barstool type tables so they initially put us in the back area but was occupied by a large family with very young children which included a small baby that was crying and could not be comforted by the parents. We asked to be moved and they were very accommodating. I really have nothing against babies, even raised a couple kids myself and been through the scenario of not being able to quiet them. Although I was usually mindful of other customers and took the child outside. But in their defense, they were in the back room I assume at their request and until we got there they were alone so it we kind of intruded on them. Anyway I digressed. Once we were re-seated, our waitress, Brittney, promptly took our drink order. My husband was uncertain on which beer he wanted so they offered a small flight selection based on his individual tastes. The only downfall to this place is they don't have a full liquor license so they can only serve beer and wine. Not being a beer drinker, I ordered a Merlot and later a Pinot Noir. They were fine but nothing special but this really isn't a big issue. You don't come here for the wine. The place is called Pies and Pints for a reason. We ordered a large pizza with some normal toppings but my husband has to have anchovies and I have to have jalapenos and there was no problem with accommodating us. It took very little time for it to come out and it was amazing. In my opinion if a pizza doesn't have a decent tomato sauce it doesn't matter what else is on it and their tomato sauce was very good. Now I have to talk about our server, Brittany. She was the BEST! She was so friendly and personable. She knew all about the different beers. We even had a small discussion about the anchovies not touching my side of the pizza. She totally got that! She took time to chat about her favorite brewery which I recognized as a place my daughter has been too. When my husband wanted another beer they didn't have exactly what he was looking for but she was able discuss the merits of an alternative very well. Actually all the staff was extremely friendly. I almost didn't want to leave. I'll (we'll) be back!

Good place. The pizza is great. I had the chicken provolone. Also split a small Caesar salad with my wife which was delicious. Beer selection is very good. In addition to having multiple IPA's they had a fine selection of malty beers. I had the Weheinstephaner Festbier and then a Fuller's London Pride. Service was good despite being crowded. I also liked that they texted you when your table is ready so you don't have to sit around.

The staff was very nice. The cook took a personal request and made a pepperoni smiley face on my daughter's pizza. She loved it. The wings are the best wings I have ever eaten! The sauce to dip them in is extraordinary too! My husband agreed! We got a half Italian pizza half chicken Gouda and I would recommend both pizzas to anyone. I can't wait to go back again!

I've been to Pies and Pints at the Greene several times and hubby has been there for a beer a dozen times. First things first, craft beer and pizza of both traditional and unique and foodie pizzas are an awesome marriage. Secondly, location, location, location!! Hubby has been there more than me because it is right next door to several of my favorite places to shop at the Greene!! BUT as you know my reviews, I have a dairy problem and the only thing I've been able to order is the Italian Sub with no cheese. While its good, its the only thing I can have. (I guess I could order a cheeseless pizza, but seriously, what's the point?) I tasted (tiny bite) a few of the pizzas and the Steak and Mushroom Specialty pizza is amazing!!! So, go for the beers, stay for the pizza, but expand your menu if you want to attract people with other dietary restrictions. Just a point for those who are gluten free, though, according to the website and menu, any small size specialty pizza can be made on a gluten free crust! I just wish everyone cared so much about dairy problems!

Tl;dr must Get wings. Cuban pork and thai shrimp pizzas are fabulous. Huge beer selection. Great service. I've been here twice and I am impressed with service, beer selection, and food each time! The pizzas are always piping hot and packed full of flavor. Our favs include thai shrimp and Cuban pork. But we never forget to start our meal with the wings! They're award winning and for good reason! They're not your typical wings! They have this charred flavor that is smoky and it is dry rubbed so they're not too sticky or sweet at all! It's a unique wing experience that must be had by all. Beer selection is impressive, and if you're a good Daytonian like me, you'll be super jazzed to find out p&p is serving up toxic brew on tap! REPRESENT DYT! Servers are always sweet and timely but don't hover at the table too much! Keep fightin' the good fight P&P. You're a food chain, but I love you. Great add to dayton, and in my opinion you beat out mellow M and Dewys combined!

The food was phenomenal. In addition to great food, the service was fantastic and Jessica is really an A+ asset to this company. You need to replicate her enthusiasm. (She's wonderful!) This was my first time to this restaurant and I would return to this location again. Oh yeah, the receptionist was also very cordial and welcoming. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Pies and Pints has good pizza. It's better than average and in fairness, this is one of my favorite places at the Greene. I gave it three stars because while it is supposed to be the "local bar" or pizza joint, and the service is usually pretty good and generally friendly, it completely lacks that - welcome back to the local joint - vibe. It just a pizza place with a beer selection in an otherwise once really exceptional addition to Dayton, The Greene, turned just an investment for some big management company. In general, I've found virtually all the restaurants and shops here to reflect the degenerating attention and effort put in to the development.

It is rare when we leave a restaurant talking about the AMAZING service we received. Not that we usually receive bad service, just that its typically not a point of conversation unless we are really impressed and this place REALLY impressed us. Four of us dined here on a week night so the place wasn't super busy and we scored a seat right by the open window. It was lovely atmosphere and the seats were perfect. The food was wonderful - especially the wings! One person in our party actually ordered some to go. There is a unique selection of pizzas. We tried a regular pepperoni, a thai shrimp, and margherita. They were a little skimpy on the marinara sauce but were overall really delicious. Now, back to the service. Our waiter (I really wish I remembered his name) was knowledgable, generous, personable and went out of his way to make sure he understood our interests before making a recommendation. On one of the pizzas we had it split with the Thai Shrimp and then the margherita and when he brought it out the Thai sauce had seeped onto the other side. Before even setting the pizza down on the table the server had already asked the kitchen to make us a new personal margherita pizza. He actually even boxed it up for us so we could enjoy it later. We will be back here to try more of the interesting combos!

My first time to a Pies & Pints and I was thoroughly impressed. The Happy Hour is a great deal if you can catch it - $1 off select pints and $2 off appetizers from 3pm-6pm. Their small salads are HUGE - big enough to split between 2 people and the large pizza feed 4-5 people comfortably. The pizza is SO good! I can't figure out if it's the crust, sauce, or combo of it all, but it really is delicious. I can't wait to try a Pies and Pints here in CBus! PS - they are super kid friendly - we had a 4 year old and 1 year old with us and they were attended to quite nicely and quickly by the staff. Also accommodated our large group of 8 just fine.

The pizza here is incredible. Literally get any specialty pie and you will not be disappointed. My favorites so far have been the pine&swine (pork and pineapple) and the Italian (capicola, salami, pepperoni, pepperchini, with Italian vinaigrette). Also love the chicken Gouda and you absolutely HAVE to get the wings. One of my favorite things ever. Beer selection is fantastic. Love all the flavored ales and ciders they have. Cool atmosphere. Great staff. My favorite restaurant in Dayton so far.

Highly recommend doing 1/2 and 1/2 on a large pizza so that you can try more of their specialty pizzas. We went for a spicy combo of sriracha chicken (instead of shrimp) on 1/2 and black bean (with added pulled pork) on the other 1/2. Both were tweaks from what was listed on the menu, but were specifically recommended by out waiter. He did not fail us! The sriracha chicken started out sweet due to the pineapple, but finished with plenty of head as the sriracha creme sauce kicked in. The black bean started out a but stringer due to the salsa and jalapeños, but the marinated pulled pork added a ton of extra flavor. As with all P&Ps pizza, the real star is the crust. Of course we had a nice selection of beers from their revolving beer board, including Abita Purple Haze, Two Brothers Domaine DuPage, Rhinegeist Truth, and Elevator Xtra.

When it's not overly crowded, Pies and Pints is a great place to hang with your friends and get great pizza and beer. Out of the three pizzas I've had, the smoked gouda one is by far my favorite. But the mushroom garlic isn't anything to laugh at either. It's just really good pizza. And with a great variety of beer to choose from, I didn't want to leave. Also, I have to say some of the best service I've had at a restaurant. The greeter and our waitress were super friendly, helpful and funny. Cheers!

Came with a group of 6 plus a toddler on a friday night and were seated after just 5 minutes wait. Being from NJ, I usually hate having pizza outside of NY or NJ as it is usually a huge let down but this was good stuff. It's definitely not greasy NY pizza but it is stylish, gourmet and tasty with a really nice variety of toppings. The apps were also very good including the charred wings and the flatbreads. All of the pizza was VERY rich in flavor. Service was good and quick, and the beer and cider selections were good too. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for pizza and beer in Dayton.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I am mega, super, ultimate fan of their char grilled wings. It's basically all I get when we go there. I am not much for speciality pizza (I'm a peperoni & mushroom kind of girl), but these pizzas are wonderful!

I have spent a lot of time over the past few months in Dayton and have been fortunate enough to find some great places to eat based on fellow Yelper reviews. I came here with a co-worker for lunch on a Monday afternoon, so the place wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. All the pizza choices looked really good; we couldn't decide which one to order. But when the server told us we could split it, we decided to order a large pizza, half with pineapple and half with eggplant and red pepper. The pizza tasted awesome and the flavors worked perfectly together. I am not a big fan of pineapple on my pizza but I tried a slice anyway and was pleasantly surprised at how great it tasted. The table next to us ordered wing, they looked and smelled delicious...maybe next time. Service was prompt and friendly, the pizza was really good (and it is hard to find good pizza in Ohio). I was not expecting this when I walked in to a chain restaurant located in a shopping mall, but I would definitely recommend eating here and I will be going back. Hopefully next time I can enjoy a beer or two with my pie.

Pizza was on par or better than Mellow Mushroom. Very diverse beer selection and incredibly helpful staff. We also really enjoyed the location and open windows. Will absolutely be returning in the future. Best pizza in the area and easily competes for one of the best restaurants at the Greene.

The waiter told me that the Grape Pizza is the original Pies and Pints pizza. The first shop had ordered raisins to go on the pizza, but grapes were delivered instead, so they just put grapes on it. It became one of their most popular pizzas. I've had the grape pizza and the regular pepperoni, and they're both ok. What Pies and Pints offers, in my opinion, is a unique selection of gourmet pizza, and it's of high-quality, but just doesn't fulfill my personal pizza fantasies. However, the char-grilled hot wings are fantastic! They are like little miniature grilled pieces of chicken, with some spice, some char, cilantro on top, and gorgonzola cheese sauce on the side. Pretty epic, thank you very much.

  • Amy L.

Awesome as always and I found out that Pies And Pints will be opening a location close to us so we can get our wings and pizza fix more often. Our server, Alana, was awesome...friendly, attentive and very accommodating.

  • Savanah S.

I've been to this location twice and will definitely return. I can't speak for the beer, but the pizza is great. My favorite is the Grape & Gorgonzola (add bacon!). The wings are also good. My only real issue is the somewhat awkward seating. The half booth half chair tables at the back are placed too close together, making it pretty awkward if people are seated at each table.

Best pizza in Dayton! This has become one of my favorite spot. Service is always great. Beers selection are at large. No disappointment with my experience.

  • Jenny D.

I went here for the first time a few years ago. The bar stool style seats are a bit too high. Pizza was good, I tried the sriracha pizza. As someone who adds the chili pepper seeds in that comes with Papa Johns pizza, I found it to add the perfect fiery kick to it. It was recommended by the server, as a new and popular one.

  • Amanda A.

Very disappointed, still. We've now been a few times and the food especially the pizza is just awful. The service has been terrible as well. Took forever to be greeted, to get drink orders, come back with drinks, and even take our order. Food took a long time and with how the pizza looked it wasn't worth the wait or price. Once we tried it, I was really disappointed. If you want good pizza in Dayton, go to Dewey's or even Milano's or Marions. Much better options then here.

  • Katie F.

Great pizza and atmosphere. I do recommend calling ahead because the wait on a typical Friday or Saturday can be a little longer than I'd typically like, but the food and beer is well worth it!

  • Christine S.

Went here with a group and it was great. The atmosphere is fun and quirky and the staff is super helpful. We split four pizzas and they were all so unique and SO delicious. We had the chipotle chicken, cuban chicken, Italian, and basic pepperoni, and the chipotle chicken was hands down one of the top three pizzas I've ever had. I wish I had more time in Dayton to try all of their pizzas; I'm convinced they're all amazing as well!

I was very impressed. Great prices for beer and pizza. Servers were excellent. A definite "go-to" if you're in or around Dayton.

All stuff I've never heard of so let the adventure begin......pork and pepper nacho s .....and a less adventurous pie but both were awesome ill be back good atmosphere great music a good place to go on a date...pretty reasonable prices

This is my second most favorite pizza place in the Dayton area. I love the crust because it's not greasy. My usual order is a pizza pie with steak. The steak is usually tender and marinated. Very tasty! Give the garlic bread with cheese a try and ask for a side of their free salsa as an additional dip. :-)

  • Ian M.

Great price for a great pizza and beer experience. 36 beers on tap from many different craft breweries and even more in bottles. The servers were quick with food/drinks and had great spacing for when asking how the food is and if we wanted more drinks.

  • Bethany B.

What can I Say ... The pizza here has the lightest flakiest crust in the city!!! The menu offers varieties that you'll find no where else (chicken Gouda is superb). The only downfall I find is that if you're not prepared to pay the price for a good specialty beer ..this is not your place for ale! The wings are excellent as well!!! Yes I'll be back again and again :)

  • J W.

Nice variety of craft beers on tap. And the pizzas are pretty good, too, with unique toppings like red grapes and chipotle chicken. My favorite thing on the menu has to be the Pizza Skins appetizer: mashed potatoes with cheese baked in pizza dough then topping with sour cream and chives. Yum!

  • Brian H.

So this is the first Pies and Pints I've been too. I found the selection of beers to be phenomenal and the margrita pie was delicious. I added pepperoni to the pizza which was a great choice. The service was friendly and the establishment very clean. Would definitely return in the future.

This is a small chain in Ohio and West Virginia. The pizza is pretty decent. It's nothing particularly special, and it is very similar to Dewey's pizza (another chain with a similar concept). Thin crust with corn meal underneath to prevent sticking. Pleasantly chewy crust, semi crisp underside so it doesn't fall down when you pick it up. There are a wide array of toppings available and plenty of "gourmet" combinations available. The Hot Ham and Pepper pizza (capicola and pickled peppers) was good though it seemed to have an excess of sauce. The Mushroom Garlic was OK, but it seemed a bit overly sweet and oddly bland. The beer selection is quite nice and the atmosphere was inviting, lively without being overly noisy. Overall this place is a good option for reasonably priced food with table service in the Greene, but far better pizza can be had not far away (DLM, Figlio) if you're willing to drive a few minutes.

  • Hal D.

Fantastic food, but even better service! When one of our pies fell on the floor (gravity, the eternal nemesis of small tables), our server immediately offered to replace it, and the manager came over to let us know that thwy would be bringing us a new pizza. And this was after scheduled closing! Great job!

  • Laura T.

Pies and pints has an extensive beer and wine selection and some of the most unique pizzas. The coolest thing is the beer tap tv they have. The tv monitors the kegs and shows you how full the keg is and also color codes them to show full or empty.

At first as we walked up to Pies and Pints, my heart sank as I saw the line to get in. Thankfully, this didn't deter me. We had the option to have them text us once they had our table ready which is pretty fantastic. They didn't go over the amount of time they said it'd take to be called back and had us seated right away once we told them we received a message that our table ready. Walking around the restaurant, I noticed it was quite crowded, however, there was enough space around the tables that didn't make me feel claustrophobic. Which I liked. The decor was very fun and gave us a lot to look at. When it came to the food, I was KNOCKED off my feet. I had the chicken gouda pizza, which had a ton of flavor. A very beautiful marriage of gouda, chicken, and scallions. My girlfriend ordered the plain cheese pizza with extra sauce (she scrapes off the cheese-lactose intolerant). She LOVED it. And...you know it's good if you can scrape off the cheese on the pizza and still be full of flavor. The waitress was very helpful and attentive as well. Especially when it came to figuring out what to order. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the booth we sat at was hard as hell. Seriously, skip the booth even if you like sitting at those. Or...at least bring some extra padding with you unless you want what feels like achy booty trauma the next day. UPDATE: You haven't lived until you try their potato skin pizza. Don't live with the unbearable angst of not experiencing this yet any longer. Seriously go do it. Do it now. Why are you still reading this?

Pies and pints certainly sounded promising. With tons of local beer and brews. A definitely win, or so I thought. The beer menu is massive. So many to try so little time. The food choice on the other hand, not as impressive. The salads are massive, even though they call them simple. The pizza menu isn't that big but has a good variety. The toppings seem fresh and unique. Thai coconut curry shrimp pizza, chipotle chicken, or simple pepperoni are just a few. I had the spinach and garlic pizza with added steak. The flavors were good but they covered in with Gorgonzola cheese. Not having that cheese before it was a shock for sure. A very strong cheese, overpowered the flavor of the pizza and it kind of ruined it for me. The wings were awesome. They were charbroiled hot wings, the flavor was delicious and very tender. But they tasted a little on the burnt side. The service was friendly but very slow. We got out drinks quickly, but the food came out slow. Our appetizers came out after our entrees and a to go box was a far fetched request. Being on vacation I won't complain too much, but they could improve some minor things. If I get back to ohio in the future I'll be sure to try some where else.

My wife and I absolutely love the chicken gouda pizza! Wide variety in beer choices but always seem lacking. My wife likes a good cider few to choose from. Go for pizza not the beer.

I'm wavering between 2-3 stars so I figure I might as well give the benefit of the doubt and let you make up your own mind. I have just moved into an apartment at The Greene after relocating to Dayton for work and didn't particularly feel like cooking last night so decided to give Pies & Pints a try. I placed a carry out order for the Char Grilled Wings and the Pineapple Pie. I mentioned that I was a resident and was told it was going to be about 30 minutes.Totally reasonable and time enough for a dry martini or two. When I arrived the restaurant was pretty packed and loud. The hostess was taking names and seating people and when she got to me she directed me to the bar to get my order. As a resident I get a discount but she had already ran my card by the time I told her. It was totally my fault but she didn't even offer to rerun it and kind of just shrugged me off and was like, LOL too bad, get your discount next time which I thought was poor customer service considering I had already put a cash tip on the bar for her and she didn't really seem like going out of her way to offer. Anyway, got the food home and it was still hot. The wings were really good and if it's your first time here I would try them. There were about 9-10 pieces and where very crispy and flavorful. I would've liked them like 2 levels hotter but I'm a heat fiend. The gorgonzola sauce was pretty tame and mild, not quite as advertised. The pizza itself was fine. They like to tout the crust and roasted garlic olive oil but I couldn't taste it, but it was decent crust. Plenty of toppings and the pizza plenty of food. I only got through the wings and 1/2 the pie. Overall, it was fine and convenient for me. I'd definitely get the wings again but probably not the pizza.

I live for pizza. Unfortunately, I am lactose intolerant. I usually just go with the classic cheese pizza, remove the cheese, and eat the rest. This place was wonderful and extremely helpful when I called and asked about dairy in the menu. The food was delicious. You can really tell how great a pizza is if you remove the cheese and it is still appetizing. I ate the entire thing in one sitting. We had to wait about an hour on a Friday night to be seated, which was not bad. There's plenty to do at the Greene if you have to wait. Pies and Pints will text your phone when your table is ready. The restaurant was much bigger than I expected. They also had really appealing design. I loved all of the elephants on the walls. The only negative comment I have is I would recommend not sitting in the booths. I noticed that my back and tailbone hurt pretty bad the next day. Bring a butt cushion.

My experience here was nothing short of fantastic. The environment is trendy and upbeat, the pizza really is incredible, and the beer... oh the beer... so many unique options of craft beers from all over. Also of note, everything is extremely reasonably priced. But to top everything off, our waitress Kelci was hands down the best waiter I have ever had. Very friendly, very personable, and incredibly knowledgeable of EACH pizza and beer selection. She was able to describe the different flavors and notes of each drink and which pie combos best with them. She also made excellent suggestions for additions to our pies that threw them well over the realm of delicious. Will definately be coming back the next time im in Fairborn.

We have been multiple times and none of the pizzas have knocked me off seat. Very little meat on pizzas and hit or miss on a soggy crust. The last time we were there we waited over 45 min for an appetizer and Splenda for ice tea. When I asked the server he forgot the Splenda and said he thought we were just asking about it...wth!! He sent the manager to us. She did take the appetizer off our bill and waited on us for the rest of the time. For an eighty dollar lunch tab my expectations are much higher. Doubt we will go back.

Awesome pizza and great beer selection! You can order the standard pizza flavored or venture out and get something unique such as grapes, beans, or chipotle style pizza, to name a few of the specialty pizzas. They also cater to gluten free and the gluten free stuff doesn't taste like cardboard. That's just the pizza but the beer selection is off the charts! I recommend this.

My Girlfriend and I have been wanting to go here for almost a year now and finally got a chance to eat there. As we were being seated they hadn't cleaned our table yet and waited just a few minutes to get to our table. We started looking at all the possibilities on the menu for about 20 minutes and 4 servers passed us to sit and talk to the table next to us (who we are pretty sure were co workers), and not one person asked us for drinks or if we had been helped.... So we walked out.... All the hype I have heard for absolutely nothing makes me never want to eat there.....

I've been to the location in Columbus and this one, at The Green. Between the two I've tried the chicken gouda pie, Thai pie, grape pie, and the steak & mushroom pie. Chicken gouda: excellent, the flavors complement each other well. Thai pie: my favorite by a long shot. Coconut, spicy curry sauce, and shrimp on a pizza sounded like a flavor adventure and I wasn't wrong! Grape pie: it's a very 'wet' or 'juicy' pizza, and on the blander side. It isn't bad, but it's far from wild. Steak & mushroom: the horseradish sauce was rather overpowering unfortunately, but this wasn't bad. I wouldn't order it again, but I wouldn't pass up a slice of it if we were sharing slices around the table again (easily the best way to do things at this joint.) Do yourself a big favor and try the pizza skins as an appetizer. They're just as wonderful as they sound. My friends loved the root beer and chicken wings but I haven't sampled either myself, as of yet. As far as strategy is concerned, you can go halves on large pies as far as getting two different specialties within one pie, so you can wade through more of the menu in fewer visits to find your favorites that way. A large will feed three people comfortably, especially if an appetizer was involved, or two very hungry people (who may experience groaning and regret shortly after.) Our server at The Green was very friendly and attentive, and though the restaurant was quite crowded, furniture is spaced just enough to remain comfortable.

Great beer and even better pizza! They were happy to accommodate my dairy-free diet and made me the most delicious cheese-less pizza I've ever had. The Shrimp Thai Curry pizza is mind-blowing

Great place for beer selection as they have a beer menu!! So for beer drinkers, this is a heaven for you! Pizza is good but not exceptional. I personally can't have any cheese, but everyone at the table agreed that the pizza were just fine and nothing special. I will only go to this place for beer for sure. Service is good and if you want to be seated ASAP, you need to be there early otherwise do not be surprised to wait for over an hour if you have a large part.

I couldn't get enough of this place. Really good pizza, really good beer with a ton of selection and awesome service. If you have kids, this is a great place to bring them. The appetizers are awesome and I love sitting next to the open windows when it's warm outside. Not just cause I get to show people walking by that I have a delicious pizza but also because I can eat it and make obnoxious noises demonstrating how much I like the pizza as they walk by.

Food and beer are to die for. Bartenders and servers are extremely educated on craft beer! They can help you find whatever beer you never knew you wanted!!! Sitting at the bar is a blast. Food is MOUTH WATERING delicious!

I don't usually go 5 stars on a chain, but making an exception here. I've been anxious to try this new place, but holding back so they can get their feet wet. This was the week I decided to dive in. I convinced my dining partner that we needed pizza and salad, and remarked in passing that I "hoped it was just half as good as Dewey's." So many wonderful things on the menu, and wait staff was so helpful. All ingredients here are fresh - nothing from a freezer or can. We started by ordering two salads and were warned that their salads are made for two. So glad they warned us...I actually think this salad would feed four. We had the house salad with peppercinis, mozzarella and provolone. Even dressings are house made (there are only two - both were excellent.) Leftovers went home with dining companion for dinner. No way could we leave that cause it was soooo good. Two of us ordered a small Mozzerella Caprese Pie, and it is big enough for two. OMG...best pizza I ever had. Forget Dewey's, no reason to travel that far again when I can get in in less than 5 minutes. Not only was this pizza THE.BEST .I.EVER HAD, it was a work or art. yelp.com/biz_photos/pies… I would have licked the pan if it wasn't un-cool. Salad - $6, pizza $12. Lunch for two with drinks - $23. What a deal. This is the fifth Pies & Pints opened. I don't know why the picked Dayton, but will be eternally grateful they did. If you're really lucky, someday they will come to your city. Until then, life is good here!

Long wait, good pizza albeit pricy for what we received. There was nothing too unusual for toppings--we had a large shrimp Mediterranean. The beef selection was alright although we ordered a raspberry lager that tastes like a normal lager (I only had one, so i was fairly certain my taste buds weren't compromised yet). The highlight of this outing was probably the wings--they were messy, addictive and all-around tasty. In the future i could see myself ordering a set of wings and watching a game or two over some beer, but i don't think I'd be willing to fork up the price for dinner again.

Love that this place was added to The Greene! I've tried a few different specialties (chicken Gouda being my favorite!) as well as a personal sausage (not my favorite) and pepperoni. I love the crust, sauce and variety of toppings. I've also tried the blackened wings which were delicious! As someone who is not a fan of hot or spicy, I still enjoyed them. 4/5 because I'm not a fan of the setup or the extra long wait. The place is not very handicap accessible which is a big drawback for my family. Other than that, definitely found a new pizza joint to enjoy.

YUM - Great local beer selection and very good pizza. The crust is flavorful and well cooked. We had the chipotle chicken pizza and some bbq nachos. The pizza was really good, it surprised me. The chicken had just a hint of spice and rest of the toppings were quality. BBQ nachos were good.. not so huge you couldn't take a little home if you wanted to. Great selection of some hard to find beers and one that really surprised me. 21st amendment watermelon something or another. Never had it and was a bit worried about giving it a whirl. But I'll be ... it was very good. Wish they distributed it in Indiana.

Although in Aug 2013 I gave them a 3/5, I'm amending my rating to a 5/5. Over the last year, my husband and I have been to P&P at least 20 times. It's our favorite Friday night spot. When they originally opened, it took a few weeks (or months) to get into their groove, but they are there. We usually sit at the bar and get service from Ashley or Whitney, and they are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. They remember what we like, and give us really terrific service. The chipotle chicken pizza and the pizza skins (aka mashed potato pizza) are 2 of the best pizzas I've ever had. Also, the char-grilled wings are the most unique and delicious in the Dayton area. I always order extra of the gorgonzola sauce that comes with the wings-I could drink it! This is our favorite chain restaurant because the food is great and the service is even better.

I sampled the Italian Hero and a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and onion. Oh - I got a salad too. The sandwich was good and filling. It came with the house vinaigrette, but I got it on the side - good choice I thought as the bun was soft. Had that sandwich soaked up too much dressing that sandwich would have been REALLY messy - though that's not always a bad thing. The pizza crust was great - almost that feel of a NYC thin crust slice. Nit quite though. In essence, the crust wasn't doughy and undercooked. Important! The toppings were good. Seems that some of the sauce comes up through the cheese. In this case it worked! I think I found a new place to eat at the Greene!

Great pizza. Honestly, the Chicken Gouda pizza was incredible. Not too heavy, blast of flavor given the organic ingredients. They also have a decent home brewed root beer. I would have written home about the place however my family was eating with me making the process unnecessary.

Pies and Pints has a very solid beer selection, both in bottles and on tap. Their food selection isn't huge, but what they have is excellent. The wings are uniquely seasoned and delicious, and I can always go for one of their Thai pizzas. I'm also a huge fan of the Edison lights hanging around the bar; they give it a warm, inviting feel.

Been coming here since it opened. Very casual atmosphere with a professional staff. Great fresh food and always a great beer selection. My wife likes a glass of wine and has not been disappointed. The capriese (sp) mozzarella is by far my favorite. Wait time will be lengthy, but this is a popular place. Settle at the bar and watch whatever game is on. (They will change the channel also). Again a very squared away pizza restaurant.

Pints & Pies a great place for salads , pizzas and huge selection of pints of beer. Great place to try when in The Greene Shopping Center.

The general consensus from the table was "Meh". Despite being seated nearly immediately. Lackluster service, wait or who 'forgot' to take orders from everyone on the table. And took 40 min for him to come back to the table after drinks. He had no clue what half the drinks on the menu were, or if they served soda. Pesto pizza needs more pesto. And no dipping sauces other than pizza sauce. No ranch dressing for salads. Bread was under seasoned for garlic bread.

I love, love, love this place. I have only eaten here once and I am looking forward to my next visit. The Chicken Gouda Pizza is the best specialty pizza I have ever eaten. I also enjoyed the Cuban and The Steak and Mushroom. In addition they have a great selection of beers to satisfy a large party with diverse tastes. The staff was friendly and although the place was crowded the service was great. Looking forward to the next visit.

Talk about exceptional service!! My boyfriend and I were out running errands at The Greene and we decided to stop and eat here. The atmosphere was phenomenal. It mimics a small fair/circus feel. We ordered a half Chicken Gouda and half Chipolte Chicken pizza. The kitchen accidentally messed up on our order but the waitress, the kitchen manager, and the general manager were all quick to fix the issue and we didn't even complain about it in the first place. I was going to try to eat the pizza regardless of the kitchen's mistake. We did not expect them to take care of the majority of the bill and treat us to dessert. I was pleased with this place from the moment I walked in. I will definitely be visiting Pies & Pints in the future. It's my new favorite pizza restaurant.

New experience to try this place. Always seems busy so I took two 11 year old boys for a bite. Full disclosure, I'm from Phili and miss a good NY/Phili style slice. That being said, I try to go to pizza places here in Ohio with an open mind. I give this place high marks for service and the atmosphere is pretty nice. The crust on this pie had potential but the toppings were piled on too thickly and the sauce seemed to be added by the spoonful under and over the toppings. The pineapple was cut into inch square pieces instead of being evenly distributed. I got a veggie version pie while my son ordered plain cheese and the sauce was just too thick. Willing to try it again although the prices are pretty high for my pizza night standards and I'm not a big beer drinker. I will say the selection of pints was impressive though! Still searching for that midwestern slice - not Chicago style.

First visit to Pies and Pints, and won't be the last. Server Cody did a great job. Shared his favorites on the menu and explained things well. The food was great. The chargrilled chicken wings were phenomenal. And the Gorgonzola dipping sauce was so good you'd want to ask for some to take home. The pizza was good too. We had a large with half chicken Gouda and half white with artichoke hearts and pesto. Crust is real good. Great flavors, well prepared. Plenty left over for a treat later. Definitely recommend this place.

I love the Thai pie, it's one of the best pizzas on the menu. The beers on tap are also fabulous, I especially like the bumble berry beer. The salads are amazing, I especially the house salad. It's a great place to spend a Friday night.

Great place. We sat at the bar. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I know it's a beer joint but we loved their wine selection and pricing. We ordered two different pies and both were very good. Great crust! We were excited to try it and glad we went. We will definitely be going back.

I planned an office luncheon at P&Ps just last week for a group of 20. While it's rare that I award 5 stars, I'm not only considering the food & beverage selection, but also the overall service for such a large party. As can be expected, our group trickled in one or two at a time, but our waiter was there within moments of each person's arrival to take their drink order, make suggestions or offer samples from their extensive beer menu. A few of us had wine...though not that wide of a selection, we were pretty impressed by the varietals they do feature. I ordered several apps to share -- the two favorites were the Chicken Wings (best in town with a Gorgonzola sauce to die for!) and the Pizza/Potato Skins (unlike others you've tried). I also ordered many large pizzas for the table, each 1/2 and 1/2 of the different varieties they offer. Fan favorites were the Grape pie (yes, grape...it's delish!), Chicken Gouda, and Pine & Swine. So glad to have P&Ps here locally. An impressive selection of Pies and Pints, upbeat atmosphere, and friendly/efficient staff.

Delicious food with a top notch beer selection. My one problem would be that they don't allow tables to be pushed together for large parties... HUH? Thankfully we had a waiter was wasn't a moron and liked getting good tips. He allowed us to push a few together despite the managers pointless temper tantrum. Props to you waiter guy! Maybe you should be the manager? Anyway after that our meal was flawless. The garlic cheesy bread sticks were off the hook good. Classic pizza was phenomenal. I absolutely would return with friends.

Came in here for the first time last week and I wasn't disappointed. Small pizza and salad were delicious and more than enough food for the two of us. Friendly staff were helpful navigating the extensive beer selection. More than pleased with the service and overall experience, will be back for sure.

Great little kids meal of just pizza toppings (under 2) An overwhelming selection of beers on tap. This place take 'pizza and beer" to a whole new level. The entryway opens up to an expensive restaurant which goes back much further than it appears from the outside. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, which is becoming too much of a rarity these days. Not only did our waitress serve us promptly and was very helpful with the menu and suggestions, I noticed two other tables experience spills and different waitstaff not only helped them very quickly, both were seated at other tables with new drinks right away while the spills were cleaned up. I was impressed by the overall effort.

I love pizza and was so excited for this place to open up and the hype did not disappoint! We went there with a party of four and when I realized that they had an open window area up front I asked the hostess if I could be difficult and get a table in that area, we didn't mind waiting longer. She wasn't annoyed at all, very friendly! All of the people working there were so helpful. Our server recommended we start with the wings, we did and they were amazing!! I think as a group we tried about 6 beers with suggestions from our server which were all delicious. We ordered a large half red half white pizza and it was to die for! We didn't have room for desert but hopefully I can save room when I go back this week! Great pizza and great beer! What else could you ask for??

Not the greatest first time experience. Went in and gave our name and they told us fifteen to twenty minutes. No big deal. Well 35 minutes passed and nothing so we go check at the counter. They had lost our name in the computer somehow. Buy they did find us a table quickly after that. The food was overpriced in my opinion. The garlic bread with cheese was amazing. The pizza on the other hand left something to be desired. It was not my kind of pizza for sure. The wife didn't like it either. Everything was fixed properly. Just not our kind of pizza. The service was unbelievably slow. It took forever to even get the pizza. So needless to say at least for us, we won't be going back anytime soon. They did have a ton of beers though. I will give them that.

We went at lunchtime during opening week. The server was great, the NY style pizza was delicious, the beer selection was impressive! The Chicken Gouda pizza was delicious and we splt a Thai Pie- tasty, but not my favorite. I have to also add that the plain cheese pizza we ordered for our daughters was wonderfully tasty, too. If they don't tell you, you can split two types of pie on the same pizza. A better deal and you can try two pizza flavors ;) Cheers!

The Service was terrible my boyfriend and I had to wait 40 minutes to get our appetizer. When we finally got our appetizer we had no silverware and had to keep asking our server finally after a good 20 minutes we picked the wrapped silverware off another table. for our Entree we had the chicken Gouda pizza. I basically tasted like McDonald's and was awful. Had a bad texture and taste. We never got refills on our drinks and over all I just felt like undervalued and not a priority even though I was paying for a service.

So , I've been here a couple of times now and I was really torn on whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. 3 stars for the service but 4 stars for the food and beer. In the end beer always wins for me, so 4 stars it is. On the pricey side, but isn't everything at the Greene? It's ridiculous going there on a Friday or Saturday night. You can barely walk around the joint, it's so packed. Which is truly a testament to how good it is. Another great addition to the Greene. I also really like their reservation system, you can call ahead and they will send you a text to notify you when you're table is ready.

This was a first time for us so the 4 of us were anxious to try it. The first beer ordered was not in stock, so why was is on the menu?! We ordered the classic pizza, which was very good but be warned, spicy. The Greek salad was WONDERFUL! It was a very busy night, and the killer for us was the service. I would give the food a 4, but the service was maybe a 2. The drinks were delivered and 2 pizzas ordered. The first pizza came out and a full 10 min later the second pizza arrived. We were almost finished before our friends took their first bite. We actually had to ask a manager to get our waitress so we could order more drinks. Will we go again?? Possibly.... But it will be a while...

I realize it's a bit odd to go to a pizza and beer place and order a salad, but that's what I did. I was craving an Italian or Greek-style salad - after reviewing menus online of local restaurants' salad descriptions, I decided to try the Greek Salad with Chicken. Wow! I was really impressed, it hit the spot! It was fresh and crisp, and the chicken was nicely seasoned, cooked and sliced. The house vinaigrette was great, and they put it on the side. I'll have to come back to try a pie and a pint next time I am in town.

So-so. Pizzas weren't that appealing, beer selection was good. If you want good pizza drive the 15 minutes to Dewey's.

Extremely poor service, but the pizza and beer are good. The waiter was clueless; served salad but no silverware was on table. Took 5+ mins to track down someone to get silverware, then only got 3 sets and we were a party of 5. When pizzas finally arrived, drinks were empty and took excessive time to get more. Took 20 mins from time we asked for check to bills paid.

Keep in mind our party of 12 went to Pies and Pints on a Saturday evening at 7 during their first weekend open. We did call ahead seating and were yold we would be seated ad close to 7 as possible. It was packed and we were seated around 7:30ish I believe. Our service was pretty good for a big party although a friend ordered a beer and had to ask about it after others who ordered later got theirs. Also they will only do 6 separate checks. On to the food...we were trying lots of beers so my husband and I chose to split a large half garlic mushroom and half Mediterranean shrimp. The pizza was big! We only ate half of ours and could have easily split a small. It was tasty. Others at the table had the sausage on their pizza and said it was somewhat spicy. And they really liked the white pizza. Overall it was a good experience with a big group who can go wrong with tons of beer choices! I would go back with a smaller group once they have time to work out the kinks.

Pizza was excellent but not wood fired. It is a stone oven though. Waitress was a smart ass and acted like we should have known that they only have CRAFT beer, which I hate. Plus said if I ordered a certain kind I could only have 2 because they are 11% regardless of content I don't need a 21 yr old waitress to tell me how many beers I had. So all and all food was good, service left something to be desired.

    (3)
  • Rob B.

I couldn't tell you what the food is like, but it looked good. After being told there was an hour and 15 minute wait, and waiting an hour and 20 minutes, I was told I was 16th on the list waiting for a table for two. I understand that I came on a Saturday around 7pm, but that's ridiculous. The inability to gauge the wait time by such a drastic difference is unacceptable. If you value your time then I wouldn't waste it here.

Myself and a group of two friends went to Pies and Pints on a Friday afternoon and it was spectacular. It was during happy hour which I believe is 3-6 M-F. The service was unreal, so I will start there. Our server Brian was an awesome guy. He stayed about an hour past his shift so we didnt have to deal with switching waiters half way through our meal. When the beer selection I requested was out, he immediately suggested another he thought I would like and I really enjoyed it (Stone Enjoy by 11-12-13 IPA). He was very enthusiastic throughout the whole experience but not so much that he was annoying. Our waters were never empty. When I ordered my next beer, he brought out a sample of another beer they just tapped that he really liked. The food was great too. I had the chipotle chicken pizza and it was delicious. Its sprinkled with fresh cilantro which I loved. One of my friends had another pizza that he liked, and another had a half portion of the bbq pork nachos off the appetizer menu. I tried some of the nachos and they were good. The portion was huge for it being a half size. The prices on beer really cant be beat during happy hour. A glass of dogfish head was only $4. That's unheard of. The pizza was reasonably price for it being a craft pizza place. A small was $12 and it was a pretty good sized portion. I will definitely be returning here a lot. Very pleased with my first experience here. Brain--If you read this, well see you next Friday!

I have been here a few times. I mainly come here for the beer however the salads and pizzas are pretty good. They have a bunch of taps but only a few rotate and trying to find out what beers they have that aren't on the menu can take some time. Don't think they have their finger on the pulse of Dayton's craft beer community but hopefully they will get there. And service has been great.

Terrible service. The hostess was rude for a request to be seated in a booth, on a slow Tuesday with not even a quarter of the place filled. Our server took 8 min to stop by and ask us for our drinks, 12 to bring them....23 minutes later we gave up on trying to place an order for appetizers, let alone maybe ordering entrees. We have no clue how their food tastes and never will. This place is on the boycott list , we can get a decent craft beer somewhere else much faster and friendlier than this place

Went here last Saturday night fully aware that there would be a long wait for 2 reasons - the airforce marathon was in town and its Saturday night. We were right - it took about an hour and a half to get a table for 2, but I liked that they send a text to my phone rather than have me carry around one of those buzzer things. That way, we could roam around the Greene and not have to stay close. I really like the look/feel/vibe of this place. The digital beer menu is awesome! I love the music and also loved the giant windows that open on the front of the building. Hubby found a wheat beer that he really liked and I stuck to wine. We shared the spinach salad and its a good thing we did - it was huge. There was still plenty left over for another person. We got a large pizza, half was classic and half was Mediterranean shrimp. We were both quite happy with our choices - they were very tasty. Service was great, our waitress was helpful to make suggestions and very attentive. Hubby and I frequent Dewey's pizza pretty often, so if I were going to make a comparison between this place and Dewey's, I would still say Dewey's wins hands down. Better salads by far and their pizza crust cant be beat. However, Pies & Pints would be our #2 spot when we want to change things up a bit :)

This review might seem a little redundant since I gave them 4 stars the first time, I was really thinking that I would bump them up after the second visit but still just missed the 5 star mark in my opinion. The food was fantastic (for the most part, will get to that in a sec!). The service was really 5 star, our server was really amazing! Gave us lots of tips on which beer to order, let us sample which ever we wanted, he was really great! We were seated right away, another big plus! For not really being that busy, the food took forever to come out, our server did apologize for it taking so long. Like I said before, all of the food was fantastic except the flat bread appetizer, the edges were pretty burnt we ate a few pieces and left the rest, it really wasn't that good. I did mention the burnt edges to our server twice thinking that maybe since we really didn't eat any of it they would take it off the bill, no dice, we still paid $8.00 for it. Honestly if we didn't have to wait so long for the food and if they would have at least offered to take the burnt flat bread off the bill, I would have given them 5 stars easily, so close! Overall though, they have a great product and great service, we'll be back for sure!

My husband's review was filtered out under some random filtering system Yelp uses to maintain the integrity of their system. I guess I can understand. Since I was one of the party of four, I am duplicating his review as my own. We went back the next week for the Margarita. Also delicious. The restaurant would benefit greatly from a few tables out front. People walking by need to know they serve Pizza. From the name, I thought it was gourmet pies (Apple Pies), and and premium ice cream (pints). This is a badly needed premium yet affordable Pizza restaurant plus a lot more. Original review. Went on Tuesday of opening week. Four of us. My wife and I had the 16 inch cheese pizza. My daughter and son-in-law had the pineapple pizza and salad. We all liked it and we will be regular customers of this establishment. The Pizza is northeast style as opposed to Chicago or Marions style. Think Flying Pizza. In addition to the food, we thought the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was a feel good atmosphere and casual. The Pizza was not greasy or oily, and didn't leave us bloated. With opening day jitters, a server did drop some drinks at the next table. The place also has sandwiches like cheesesteaks, which I think are served on bread as opposed to sub rolls. There is a very nice selection of alcoholic drinks with emphasis on ale. We eat at the Greene 4 or 5 times a week, and will be going there at least once once a week, as well as taking out the Pizza. The prices for the cheese pizza are very good, and they serve individual slices (per their menu). As to the prior comment on overpriced food, some of the speciality Pizzas are a little high, but that's a personal ordering choice. A 16 inch cheese was $ 14, a 10 inch, $ 8. I think slices are $3.

Well the place made me uncomfortable from the second I sat down, literally. The stools at the high tops are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in at an eatery. Strike one. I ordered one of the two stouts on the menu to be told that they had neither. Strike two. We then ordered pizza and a salad. I have got to say the food was excellent. The service was not very good. We ran out of beer and had to have the manager run her down. The couple that was with us got their pizzas 10 minutes before we got ours. Our server finally showed up again so we could get fresh plates since our salads were eaten off the plates on the table. She didn't remove them after the other plates were delivered to the table. She never came back to the table until the check was delivered. On the way out it became obvious what was going on. She was hanging out at the hostess stand. So overall food was 4-5 and service 1-2.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
