Elena's Jim's Restaurant Too is a greasy spoon diner in the City of Rochester serving breakfast and lunch options. A convenient location for those who happen to be in the Neighborhood of the Arts, the restaurant is known for its affordable prices. The interior is dated and could use a facelift, especially to the worn booth seats with visible rips in the upholstery. The staff is friendly and casual. It's a fine location if you are in the area, but I would not go out of my way to frequent this spot.

A favorite spot to go with my friends to catch up after a night out! The coffee cake is straight up HEAVEN and they don't skimp on the sauce for eggs Benedict. I also love the staff here, they rock. ALL TIME favorite diner.

This place is cheap and the food is palatable but hardly anything stands out. Stick with the basics here and you'll be fine. The Winton Road location is better.

The best eggs in Rochester! And yes, it is easy to screw up scrambled eggs, as every other place in town has proven. But not at Jim's Too! Always perfect, never dry or burned, both peeves of mine (along with greasy potatoes). Prompt friendly service, great food, extremely reasonable prices. I have been there at the peak of their busiest times, and they always seem in control and courteous. And if there is not a sign in a diner that says "we will seat you" it's fairly common knowledge that you should seat yourself.

I've actually been here a few times shortly after I discovered it. After being from a small town I was desperate to find a dinner. DISCLOSURE: IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR TRENDY HIPSTER DINNER THIS ISN'T A PLACE FOR YOU. Atmosphere: you will see a huge diverse customer base. From the older guy reading a newspaper to the young trying to fight off the nights hangover. There is no extras here. Old school sort of feel. That's what I like. Food: The food is actually very good and may rival what yiu could whip up in your own kitchen. Coffee is typically hot and filled regularly. The owner has always there when I've been there and is extremely sweet. She is always willing to help you choose something from their menu. She even made a custom dish for my girlfriend who doesn't eat pork. What more could you ask for!?!?! Well the food is extremely cheap and you will actually find yourself saying "is that it...seriously" I took off a star only because they only take cash. This is super annoying and a hassle for me cause I hate carrying cash. Always have to do an ATM run before going. I guess at the end of the day it isn't too big of a deal.

Cash Only. They say they have an ATM, but it only lets you get $40 out for a $2.00 fee. Worst still, the ATM was empty but charged my account anyway. No one at the place could help me, and I was told I'd have to wait an hour for the owner, or leave my phone number and (hope) they will call me back. If I don't post an update you can assume I didn't get my money back. I did not try the food, so this review is only relating to them expropriating (possibly stealing) my money, and the staffs complete inability to fix a small problem their ridiculous cash only + ATM policy created. UPDATE: Called them (they never called me like they said they would) and spoke with owner. She told me she found the $20 in the machine. I asked her to reverse the charge and she said she couldn't, but would hand me $20 if I came back in. Setting aside that I am back in NYC, why should I have to drive down there to get my money and still pay the $2 ATM fee? That's ridiculous! Now I have to call my bank and dispute the charge. What a waste of time.

This place is so cute! There were so many people here around 10:45 AM. Came out to breakfast with my friend and had a good breakfast. We were greeted and sat right away. It is kind of disorganized to me because we were served by like four people. Anyway, the service was prompt and we literally got in and out. We both ordered the 2-2-2 and you get two of some breakfast choices. I got french toast, bacon and scrambled eggs. It's so cheap here ($5.49) and the food is yummy! Nice well done bacon, the French toast was good as well! They do offer complimentary coffee I believe which was a nice perk... The only bad thing is that they accept cash only and my friend only had a card on him. There ATM charges you $2.00 Great place to eat breakfast, though!

Parking can be tough, but with the low prices and great breakfast and lunch, you can't beat it. Fantastic weekend breakfast joint. Be aware that Jim's is cash only, however.

LOVE this place. I had been going to the one on Winton for ages but the lines there are horrible if you don't get there early enough. It's ridiculously inexpensive. I read Troy H's review and you have to understand going in that this is no frills. The furniture is beat up, you may have to seat yourself, etc. It's not fancy (understatement). The owner (Elena I think?) is almost always there and she's a tough boss but keeps keeps her staff moving. I dare you to try to get half way through your coffee before they refill the cup. I almost always get one of the two egg specials. The "pricier" one gives you 2 eggs, hash browns or home fries, choice of toast, choice of bacon/ham/sausage. The sausage are patties and they're big and very good. THe ham is decent. The bacon is OK but don't expect thick slab bacon like you get elsewhere, it's just bacon. You also get your choice of a thimble-full of juice that you can upgrade to a larger glass. I can't remember if coffee comes with that. That breakfast will run you a whopping $4 and change. Seriously, how can I ever order eggs somewhere else and feel like I'm not getting ripped off? The coffee cake changes daily and it's served hot with butter poured all over it. OMG it's unreal. I've had the lemon, pumpkin/chocolate chip and others. They're all really good. Very heavy, very dense. I've had a few different omelets as well that were pretty good. My kids like their chocolate chip pancakes and used to like their blueberry ones but one time we ate there and the blueberries were awful (old and just nasty). They swapped them out for another item. Hey, everyone has a bad day I guess. The hot chocolate is also pretty good served with whipped cream all over it. I can't name another place where me and my 2 teens can eat for about $15+ tip. I ate there the other day with my GF and she had a kick ass ham-wham covered with cheese and served with home fries or hash browns. It was excellent. I had my egg special I mentioned. It cost less than $10 before tip. I don't know how they stay in business but I hope they do! The food comes out quick, and it's really good. I mean really, eggs are eggs but these taste as good as any you'll have at other places. I love this place and it's my favorite place for breakfast.

This place makes me want to wake up early for breakfast. This cash only place is cheap and the environment is real cozy. My dish of choice is Elena delight, a breakfast mixed in with eggs ham tomato onions and Potato

Cheap good eats! Went there with my best friend today, was pleasantly surprised to find they had hash browns on the menu! Also, they have an extra large option for orange juice which I definitely took advantage. . . Parking is kind of tough, but the low price and good food makes a little walk worth it.

We ordered take out while in town. It was a good deal for the portion. We ordered two Elena Plates which include two cheeseburgers, fries, and mac salad. It was a large portion, but I was expecting an actual cheeseburger with a bun. This was just two patties with sliced cheese on top. Maybe you can ask for a bun? It was good anyway. The guy in the kitchen and the lady at the counter were both super nice. I wanted to go back for breakfast, but we ran out of time while in town. If I go back to Rochester, I will return to Jim's Restaurant. **Also, be prepared, they do not accept credit cards - CASH ONLY.

Quite possibly, the most overrated restaurant on yelp. Come on Pete W, and Sarah C. Excellent and Awesome? Are you really that easy to please? Jim's Too probably deserves 3 stars, but I have no choice but to deduct one in an attempt to undo the shameless rating inflation that occurred here. What annoys me to no end, is when customers are expected to seat themselves upon entering a diner, but there is no sign indicating to do so. I appreciate that most of the patrons here are regulars and know this, but those of us that are new, dont enjoy standing at the doorway looking around like lost puppies for a waitress to tell us where to sit. Not to mention the looks we got of annoyed customers on their way out asking us to move out of their way. You are probably thinking I'm some high maintenance dcik who is impatient and doesn't understand that diners get busy on saturday mornings. We came here at around 10am on a tuesday and the place was about 1/3 full, yet the two waitresses/cashiers running the floor ran around like headless chickens clearly having trouble keeping up with things. As far as ambience goes, the outside matches the inside. Very drab, unremarkable, meh. The mostly serve breakfast stuff and the food was ok. But its kinda hard to really screw up staples like hash browns, scrambled eggs, etc. I will say the prices are VERY cheap. Yes the people that work here are "nice" but it takes more than nice waitresses and cheap food to deserve a 5 star rating. I think what has fueled this review is that fact that being relatively new to Roc, I use yelp as my go-to guide, especially when I have people visiting from out of town which was the case this morning when I brought my relatives to what I believed was a 5-star yelp approved restaurant. Needless to say, as long as I'm gainfully employed and can afford to go to Jay's diner or even IHOP, I will not be coming back to this joint

Great place to eat, especially breakfast! Poached eggs perfect every time. Staff always friendly and ready with a refill on coffee. Can't beat the price either.

Like the name suggests, this is a Jim's Restaurant too. It's exactly the same as the one located in Winton: same food, service, and pretty much the servers (people like Elana and the other old-tymers switch locations). The only difference is that this location has more walking space and seems more spacious, but I think when it comes down to the numbers, there are about the same number of seats. If you're a bfast person, love cheap yet quality food, this place will not disappoint.

OK, I've been to lots of diners in Rochester and elsewhere, and my two main concerns when it comes to diners are: 1) Is the food tasty? 2) Are the prices reasonable? Rochester seems to be lacking in diners which satisfy both of these requirements, with a bunch of them even doing the dreaded "hiking lunch prices up on the weekends by not offering lunch specials". Anyways! As people have said, the place isn't fancy, but the food is good and cheap. I'd much rather eat here than pay $5 extra to eat at a diner with neon lights, fancy mirrors, and whatnot when Jim's has food and service that is just as good if not better! The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is because they are closed for dinner most days. If they weren't, I'd be back a lot more often. In short, extremely reasonable prices and tasty food, served in a plain restaurant. If you're looking for great taste and prices, then you should be happy with Jim's.

This is just an excellent all around cheap, divey, diner. Within that genre (and only that genre, it is a 4 star place. I live in the heart of downtown and besides Busy Bee, this is the only other diner. And the only one open on Sundays, the day I usually go to a diner. The selection is basic american diner, you won't find much that is interesting besides a special or two, though those are usually excellent and homemade. If you want something a little fancier for breakfast or lunch, go to the excellent Highland or Southwedge Diners, just a mile or so away. I've had the basic breakfasts and lunches -- such as eggs, hasbrowns, toast and grilled ham and cheeses. All have been cooked correctly and delicious. For about the only healthy side, I get the fruit cup, there's is big (a soup cup full) and has both fresh and canned items. Jim's seems to always have a stack of the day's papers around, another key in a good diner. If you don't live downtown, but you are coming for an event or the market, this is a good morning spot to get a glimpse of the Roch city life.

Incredibly low prices for the quantity and quality of food they serve. Half the cost of chain breakfast restaurants with way more character and way better food. If you're in Rochester and you like diner food, come here for breakfast. Convenient location with plenty of free street parking in the area.
