La Corsa is the joint. I was born around the corner from this spot and I've been back in the neighborhood a while and had been mad disappointed by the pizza options. La Corsa is that authentic delicious New York shit. And they mix it up, I got this slice (I can't remember the name) with 3 cheeses chicken and these slices of sauteed lemon. I hesitated to eat the lemon slice with the rind and whatnot, but it was delicious. good food. nice place. Prices aren't crazy at all, coming from a dude who almost got in a fight with this deli guy on 5th ave downtown talking about 5.50 for a 24oz of heineken, pshhh. The guys who work there are nice, laid back, and obviously know what they're doing. It's the joint.

This place is AMAZING! I've ordered from them several times now. Pretty much everything that I ordered has been good. Grandma's pizza, garlic knots, several pastas. The portions are huge and last for more than one meal. The guys are super friendly, and the food always arrives when they say it will.

I just had my first slice from La Corsa and it was great! I think it was called a focaccia slice and it had a nice thin crust and was not loaded down with greasy cheese. The place is nice an clean and looks like a place you would want to eat in! Hooray for a good restaurant in the neighborhood!

A great restaurant and pizzeria on 110th st and park ave that also delivers to the local area. Great place for takeout as well as dining in too. They are family owned and will treat you nicely.

NOoo! Why are you closed! I need the shrimp pesto pizza! Please! Come back!

Ordered an italian sub with salami, ham and provolone. Meats and cheese were old, looked and smelled as bad as the one bite I tasted and spat out. No dressing of any kind. No salt or pepper. Got a ginger ale instead of the coke I ordered, too. All around fail. I'm sure I saved myself from food poisoning by throwing the whole meal into the bin.

I got the fettuccini Alfredo "lunch special". Not sure what's so special about it. No soda/drink. You get sub par bread.... I'd rather a garlic knot or nothing at all, personally. Decent portion but definitely no more than you'd expect for lunch. The Alfredo was disappointing. It just tasted like cream. No cheese or garlic or even a sprinkling of salt. I paid extra for grilled chicken and that was just "ok". I kind of wish I went with something else. Lunch is kind of ruined now and I work nights so this is my big meal for the day. Sucks.

Who in the world ever suggest the Buffalo Chicken Pizza from this place? Ignoring the fact that our pizza showed up 1.5 hours after we ordered it, the Buffalo Chicken pizza is made with NO CHEESE. It's simply bread, sauce, buffalo chicken, and a little blue cheese dressing drizzled on. There is no mozzarella. We called up to ask why our pizza had no cheese, obviously thinking that they had made a mistake, and we were told this was standard--it usually comes with no cheese. I don't know what is going through La Corsa's head, but a pizza without cheese on it is not a pizza. It was dry, tasteless, and, despite the fact that we were starving from having to wait for so long, thrown in the garbage after a few bites. What a waste. Get your act together, La Corsa: pizza is made with cheese.

Grandma pie is good if you order it fresh out of the oven. Other foods not so good. Deliveries take forever. Not worth it, better off looking for other options. I've ordered salads from here, nothing to write home about.

So it's Friday night and we decided to order a pizza at 8pm. As many New York couples do on a Friday night because it's simple and easy. What could go wrong you ask? We used seamless and ordered a large pizza + a chef salad. One hour and 40 minutes later it finally arrived. We thought wow this place must really be busy tonight because the pizza must be so good. We opened the pizza box and found ourselves with one large cold pizza. Keep in mind we only live 15 minutes walking distance from this restaurant. So as we began heating it up in the oven I started become very heated myself. I called and was immediately placed on hold for 10 minutes. After ten minutes they hung up on me. Again I thought they must be really busy and got slammed tonight with orders. So I waited to call back 15 minutes before they close. I finally get through and the first thing the woman who answers the phone says is . . . "La Corsa, we're closed!" I respond with "Can I speak to the manger?" She says "This is the manager." I said "Well we ordered a pizza and it just got here almost 2hrs after I ordered it. So it's close to cold." She responds "We're really busy right now but I will take down your information and I promise I will call you back tomorrow." Day 2 - 7:30pm Ring Ring. A guy answers the phone: Guy: "La Corsa." Me: "Hi. Can I please speak to Liz?" Guy: "Uh. Sure what is this regarding?" Me: "I ordered a Pizza last night and it took almost 2 hours to get here. She told me she would give us a call today but I didn't hear back from her." Guy: "Well I'm the guy who makes the pizza and I doubt it was cold. We were a little backed up last night so . . . ya know." Now in my head I'm thinking . . . if I made a pizza in 10 - 15 minutes, put it in a box and gave it to the delivery guy to take to a location 2 hours away (keep in mind we only live 10 mins away) and the person who received it says "Hey this pizza is kinda cold." I think I would be a little more understanding but thats just me. So after that conversation ended and I finally spoke to Liz and I had to explain my whole story all over again. Liz says she never promised to call me back and that she told me to call her. After arguing with them and never receiving an actual apology. Liz finally agreed to send us another pizza for free. The moral of the story is if you want a cold pizza delivered in 2 hours or more with no apology . . . order from La Corsa anytime!

Liz, the manager, is very sweet & helpful. Really good customer service. I've eaten here a few times and always had fresh, hot food. About the food: The caesar salad comes with a tasty homemade dressing and a fresh SLAB of french bread (about 6in). Salad was crisp and fresh & the bread was straight out of the oven. Meatballs are large but a little too salty for my taste. Zeppoles are flaky and not to greasy. generous amount of powdered sugar. Yum! The garlic knots are huge and well seasoned. however, they were burned on the bottom an overcooked/dry. Tortellini soup tastes homemade and has a bare broth, leaving you to add salt and other seasonings as you see fit. In conclusion: food is fresh, hot and comes in generous proportions. I can get 3 days of leftovers out of any dish.

I was in the area and we were very hungry after doing some hard work. With the aid of Yelp, came across this pizza place. It is a restaurant with pizza and pasta. The pizza was made by what appears to be boys from the neighborhood, nonetheless the regular pizza was pretty good, regular pie for $14. They have plenty of seating and you can order pasta if you want. To enter the restaurant, don't walk expecting the door to automatically open because it won't, you will get your face smeared on the window, you need to press a button for the door to open.

Always great food and delivery guys are super nice! The gnocchi is my favorite and live the house made Caesar dressing!

Great place to Dine! I was there once and now I am a regular. I recommend the Spaghetti Bolognese, and the Large Sicilian Pizza. The staff is great, humble, and the owners will sit down and talk with you. It can be a little cold and slow, but start some chatting and the staff will respond with kindness. Mama's bread is great, and ask for the cook, Elvis, he will come out of the kitchen and tell you all about his recipes!

The best Italian I've had in East Harlem. Really great pizzas and pasta dishes.

  • Reedy R.

I came here the day I moved into the neighborhood. My friends and I got a table in the back, which was lovely. We all ordered some beer, the three-cheese garlic bread, a pepperoni pie and a white pie. The three-cheese garlic bread was a little underwhelming. It could have used a bit more cheese. It was all right, though. The server was friendly and helpful. The pizza. The PIZZA. It was delicious. The standard pepperoni was great, but the white pizza was a showstopper. White pizza is my favorite and I'm always on the lookout for a great interpretation. (As a note, they didn't add spinach like we had asked, but it wasn't a big deal and we didn't press the issue). Their white pizza was divine. They even dispersed the ricotta all around, which is how I always like to see it. The dough was thick enough to support the cheese, but not too thick. I enjoyed the pizza a whole lot and I'll definitely be back again.

My husband and I used to love La Corsa. We've ordered consistently from here for almost 2 years. But it's gone down hill in the last few months. Mainly in the pizza making department. More than once, our pizza has come burnt. Since when is it okay to send a burnt pie to a customer? Unless someone isn't even checking the bottom of the pie. Obviously, that just goes to show how little the restaurant cares about quality control. The first time we got a barely edible pie, we thought it was a fluke. After the 2nd time, it's obvious that our patronage needs to turn elsewhere. Time to start picking up from Patsy's - a better, more consistent, and historic pizza joint in the neighborhood.

  • Robin S.

I think La Corsa pizza is perfection. I always order from Liz who gets how to be professional and nice. But back to their pizza... it's the dream combo of sauce to cheese, crisp and never greasy. Hard to leave any in the box.

    (5)
  • C P.

Sadly, the quality of the food here has gone a bit downhill. If Nino is cooking, the food is great. If someone else is in the kitchen or making the pizzas, it's more of a crapshoot.

Had the Chicken Alfredo and I wasn't impressed AT ALL.It was drowned in so much oil you could drown a BLUE WHALE. The service was garbage and they are a little TOO ghetto for my taste. The staff is disrespectful and plays around with each other while working. I advise you not to eat here, EVER! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

  • Cathie H.

Just finished a great meal with my sons. Food is EXCELLENT!!! We had the mussels in red sauce for an appetizer. We all had salads with our meals w the house dressing which is made entirely of vegetables and no dairy....tasty. We had Penne alla Siciliana, Linguini Carbonara, and Eggplant Parmigiana (different that my nonna's recipe but still really good). The portions were GINORMOUS and we'll have enough leftovers for tomorrow. If you are expecting to be in and out like a chain restaurant, fuggetabowit! It was a two hour meal because everything was from scratch. If you've actually been to Italy, this will be normal for you. My boys also wanted me to mention the bread. It had garlic, sundried tomatoes (?) some other stuff and "magically delicious".

Liz was very sweet she offered us any table in the place when we come back. The cashier was very polite. This place should be tried if your near !! The place was clean and had very nice setting and not expensive. THANK YOU LIZ

  • carlos a.

Love how a place can charge you for a delivery fee and still make you pick up your own food. The delivery boy called us informing us that he did not have a chain for his bike and that we needed to go down the stairs to pick up our pizza. Food was cold and very bland. Definitely will not order from them again.

Amazing pizza - buffalo chicken, shrimp pesto, and penne ala vodka are a few standouts. The front area is quite simple - takeout/fast casual vibe. One can also do something a bit more fancy in the back area... They just started some sort of deal where $15 gets you an app, entree, and free glass of wine. I mostly go for takeout or delivery here, so I can't speak to that, but the pizza and pasta are fresh and suuuuuuper filling and everyone who works here is absolutely nice. Great neighborhood joint - if you are getting off or on the 6 train at 110th st. do yourself (if not your waistline) a favor and grab a slice.

  • Justin W.

This place is great. They have delicious specialty pizzas that you don't see a lot of in the city like chicken masala pizza and others that I cant think of... I shoulda taken notes.

  • Joey M.

I'm very Huge pizza eater, my favorite food in the world, however this place serves the best pizza ever, plus great service, and wonderful making sure every customer is satisfied, which is hard to do for New Yorkers. Pizza is usually my thinking/study and movie food. Well worth the money!

  • Joseph G.

I have only had the pizza from this joint. They have the larges slices I've ever seen. I always forget how large the large is, until its delivered. The pricing is fair, but the $3 charge per topping seems excessive (can ya bring it down to $2.50?). The pizza is consistently good, and the delivery is quite prompt. I typically order through seamless, and now they've incorporated a minimum tip amount. This is apparently based on the total price of your order. This function is outta order. Yet another restaurant trying to control my shekels. I think not. I tip well, I don't need your suggestions. Get rid of that and I'd easily return.

I'm updating the review because I have never been to the actual restaurant, I have only ordered delivery. It's good Italian American pizza for the price compared to alternatives in the south Harlem area, (not as good as Justino's down on 10th ave and 57th street). They now they charge a delivery fee to south west Harlem, and since pizza suffers during transport (not as crispy as it would probably be if it was eaten at the restaurant itself), it's a little pricey for a pizza. If you order a Grandma pie with a topping, it will come to around $30 including fee and tip. Call me old fashioned, but I think it's a little pricey for a pizza pie. On another note, the spinach rolls are soooo delicious!

  • Lois K.

Worse delivery service in all the universe. Took forever. They forgot half my order. The food was so bland and the pasta was dry. I never ever write bad reviews but this place needs to get their shit together

This place continues to redefine the standard if quality pizza shops. The people of East Harlem truly have a gem in La Corsa, and after having dozens of people take my advice and come here, I have yet to hear a single complaint about the place. If you look at the date of my previous review, that established a track record. Shrimp Pesto still puts other places to shame.

La Corsa, WHAT HAPPENED? My favorite pizza spot in Spanish Harlem. I recommend you, refered you, am loyal to you but tonight...tonight you let me down. Waited over an hour for my room temperature, non cheesy, mediocre pie. My request for extra sauce ignored and no napkins included. Sloppy sloppy sloppy. Anyways I was ready to forgive it all for the $3.50 cannoli that usually never disappoints. When I opened the container tonight I thought someone had eaten half of my nutella cannoli because it was not a cannoli at all but a dough ball that was thrown in my container with no love. Such a disappointing performance tonight that I am sure that you wont be hearing from us for a while as the search for a better pizza joint in El Bario begins.

I happen to live pretty smack in the middle of Manhattan width-wise, but I always venture west to Morningside Heights for dining options. My friend and I were starving one night and after a rather quick discussion of what to eat (carbs, duh), we searched for a nearby Italian place and came across La Corsa east of where I live in Spanish Harlem. Thank goodness she didn't listen to my, "Well, there's a Papa John's and a Domino's within walking distance..." because La Corsa was a truly great find. The restaurant is surprisingly large with walls painted an inviting coat of dusty apricot. That paired with the friendly, welcoming staff was enough to make me want to frequent La Corsa often. They offer a wide range of pasta dishes and pizzas, concentrating on old family recipes from the grandfathers of the current proprietor couple, Nino and Nina (how much cuter can they get?). They even allow customers to create their own pasta dishes a la Macaroni Grill but infinitely better. We ordered the plain round cheese pizza ($12) and the Penne alla Siciliana ($11). Very reasonably priced, no? And they were humongous! So humongous that we wrapped them up to-go and had enough for lunch for the both of us the next day. The crust was satisfyingly chewy and soft, the sauce was plentiful and slightly sweet, and the cheese was bubbling hot. The penne came with eggplant, basil, grated parmigiano, and house-made marinara sauce. While the portion was large and very cheesy, the sauce was not overwhelmingly rich and we steadily consumed forkfuls of the delicious pasta dish. Likelihood of another visit: I'm going to visit again for sure. I really want to try their grandma pizza and one of their several creative pizza offerings. They also offer pizza making classes for up to six people!

Over the past several months, we have enjoyed purchasing large orders from La Corsa. However, our most recent order has not arrived...approximately 2 and half hours later. The intended recipients of this meal have been waiting for hours, and many have left as a result of this POOR customer service. La Corsa, in the future, if you cannot adequately accommodate large orders, it would be in your best interest to reject the order. THIS is a better business practice.

  • Rebecca M.

I love this place, their pizza is delish. My favorite is the chicken marsala pizza. YUM. HOWEVER, their delivery takes very long sometimes, and they are pretty much the only restaurant on Seamless in our neighborhood with the nerve to charge a delivery fee. Because of this, we rarely order from here anymore.

Zach, there is some true pizza mastery to be found at La Corsa. With so many pizza options in New York it is sometimes hard to pinpoint unique pie makers. In the sea that is Spanish Harlem, La Corsa is an exceptional port when the storm of your stomach calls for pizza. This time, this glowing score does not come from exhaustive menu testing. It all stems from a single pie, right Zach? The pie, Zach, is the Chicken Francese. This pie is an expert (or, fairly simple) compilation of dough, cheese, oilve oil, butter, lemon, and diced chicken breast. It forgoes the normal assemblage of a tomato base, but maintains classic pizza structure. The appearance of some thin lemons are toppings on this pizza, marrying two things we love deeply: citrus, and pizza. It works perfectly here. And thanks to a solid crust each time (we ran 3 tests, right Zach?), the ingredients don't just simply fall off the pizza. The taste is excellent. It has the perfect ratio of lemony sauce to cheese that does not run counter to your tastebuds. Each time we have ordered this pizza, we have consumed, as the Coneheads once stated, "mass quantities", and will do so the next time we make a visit to the Big Apple. We doubt we will look further than the Chicken Francese Pizza because of its amazing execution. But something tells me we won't need to worry about ordering anything else, right Zach?

Ordered food from here. The lady on the phone said 45 mins or sooner even tho we were a little bit out of range for delivery. It was over an hour. One star off for that. Got penne vodka which was good but nothing special. Garlic knots were good and my bf got the meatballs and also just standard. still on the search for the best penne vodka

  • Amanda B.

This place has gone really downhill. It used to be great! Now I think the staff is not maintaining it well. They don't even bother setting the tables anymore. They used to serve you delicious pizza bread as a complementary appetizer -- no longer. The pasta is not worth paying for -- I can make much better pasta myself (and I'm no chef). Finally, the pizza is mediocre and a bit overpriced. I won't be giving them my patronage any longer.

Hate to be the sole naysayer. This spot has a lovely dining room- super pretty and Italian feeling. The menu is very Italian American and I bought two items to go. A slice The so-called homemade mozzeralla sticks $6 The slice was fine nothing special- and the mozz sticks were clearly not homemade which was too dissapointing. The accompanying sauce was good. False advertising is not a Franny on the go favorite.

This place is great! It always takes a little while for delivery but worth the wait. They also have gluten free and vegetarian items. Kid friendly and plenty of space for groups if you're dining in. I think in the summer they have a back open air area too. The pizzas are delicious! My favorite is the Spaghetti Carretierra, my husband loves the Lobster Ravioli and my kids always split the Baked Lasagna plate.

  • Laura L.

Great pizza. We usually get delivery. Try out a pie with fresh garlic, broccoli, and sun dried tomatoes and you won't be disappointed. I'll often bring my two year old here for a slice after a weekend trip to the park, and I love that La Corsa has the option of tables by the counter and a more formal dining room. For obvious reasons we usually hang by the tables in the front, but it's great to have the opportunity to work on restaurant etiquette will eating tasty pizza with my little guy. Thanks La Corsa! Minus one star only because about a quarter of the time we get delivery, the pizza arrives with most of the cheese stuck on the lid.

I first found out about this restaurant because of an event hosted there monthly by Teacher Comedian Alvin Irby called, Laughs and Lasagna: Gospel Comedy Sundays, which is held every first Sunday of the month. I've always liked Italian food, but I was never willing to travel all the way to Harlem for it. I went for the event and had a great experience with the program and the food. The decor is amazing. Tonight I had just the buffalo wings and tiramisu for dessert. Yummy! The food is both affordable and delicious. It's very spacious and a great venue to host events. Cozy and quiet atmosphere too. I love their table arrangements. You don't really get the sense that you're at a restaurant but feel as if you're at home around the family table. I'm not surprised though because I do believe it is a family-owned business.

I work at a school nearby here and had ordered pizza for them. The delivery was SO fast, on time, and very cheap For a pie of pizza with one topping and a grilled chicken caesar salad it was only $23.00. The quality of the food is really good-- the salad was fresh, generous in portion. The pizza itself was quite good too. Not overly greasy but very tasty.

I haven't been to New York in over 35 years and found this restaurant online. While checking out the changes in all of the neighborhoods of Manhattan, I thought I'd give it a try. Wow, this is the best Italian food I have ever eaten, next to my mother's of course! What a gem in the middle of Spanish Harlem! I did not grow up in Harlem but on my next trip to New York I will definitely be back! Food this good is worth the drive from anywhere in the five boroughs! The owner Nino and staff treated everyone like family. The place reminded me of a little place I ate at in Sicily. The food is fresh and the taste is beyond compare. The prices are incredibly reasonable. A must try!

Just tried this place out tonight (new to the neighborhood). I am *super picky* about pizza in NYC and truly do not understand why a region with such a strong Italian-American presence has such terrible pizza and coffee. I love pizza's creative possibilities and get very impatient at the laziness of most pizza proprietors. (Pizza margherita does NOT do it for me.) I was attracted to this place because of their menu (mmm, Buffalo Chicken pizza? Sign me up!) and decided to give them a shot. LOVED it. We went with a white pizza which was STUFFED with ricotta. They have a good selection of microbrews and everything seemed reasonably priced. Very extensive menu, I was happy to see. The service is friendly and expansive and they obviously take pride in what they do (the waiter showed off their menu, including their "garlic bites"--garlic knots turned into cheap, impromptu sandwiches). I will ding them a bit because it was a little slow (it took us at least 15 minutes to get our beers) but otherwise terrific. Place is clean and colorful. I will definitely be back!

Up here in SpaHa, as we're supposed to call our neighborhood these days, there are few good delivery options and even fewer for sit-down dining. La Corsa is by far the best of the Italian places around. But look beyond the pizza, because the restaurant's strong suit is its pastas. Even when ordering delivery, you can specify the shape of the noodle you prefer, which to an angel hair junkie like me is a delight. Almost every dish here is a standout, cooked with some finesse and at a shockingly low price. Some favorites are the broccoli rabe pasta (ask them to throw in some shrimp), the bolognese, and the vongole. On the entree side, I like the veal marsala and the eggplant parmesan. But these are just a sample from the extensive menu with many vegetarian options. The dining room is pleasant, and eating there has other advantages - free pizza bread, an outdoor patio, and a monthly family oriented comedy showcase hosted by Alvin Irby. But I've saved the best for last. La Corsa makes extraordinarily light and flavorful zeppole, which come six to an order for $2.

So I've lived over here for my entire life and just passed this place all the time. Then one day on my hungerous journey I stopped in and to my suprise the pizza was amazing. I love pizza and I was gonna opt for a regular slice pizza, but something called to me and it was the saute vegatable pizza. It looked so delicious and boy it was amazing. Fresh zucchini, portabello mushrooms, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. It was heaven. It was juicy and delicious and not heavy at all. My cousin had the regular slice and said it was good, which must mean superb because he's extremely picky. So now I'm a stalker of this place and they will forever have my loyalty.

I've lived in East Harlem for 12 years and have been starved of good Italian eating for most of it. Then I discovered La Corsa, a reminder that the neighborhood was Italian Harlem 100 years ago. I have never eaten in the restaurant, I've only ordered, and they trudge 14 blocks north to deliver my food at least twice a week, and I love them for it. Gems include the shrimp and artichoke salad and the cream-filled zeppoles. And I love that they offer a side of ricotta you can smear on their delicious bread. I was addicted to their heroes for a while, which they serve with as side of Italian dressing, the way god intended. Mangia!

I had dinner here yesterday on Pasta Mondays. For an extremely reasonable price, you get a large pasta entree, a salad, hot foccacia bread, and your choice of dessert. I ordered the linguine with clams in white wine sauce which was flavorful and fresh. I despise canned clams but these were served in gorgeous big shells. My two friends ordered linguini with calamari and lasagna and both enjoyed their meals. To top it off, the service was great and the waitress was very sweet. This place truly is a gem in East Harlem.

I am not much of a pizza person but their grilled vegetable pizza is the BEST!! Great atmosphere and are always accommodating whether its just me and my husband or a group of 10. Their cannoli are also really good! Would prefer them without sprinkles but as a baker and a die hard cannoli fan, I have to say these make the cut :)

Ok had to give it a second shot... Taste great!, but very soggy pizza. I guess it's better to eat in... I will order other stuff from here cause the food does taste good, but no more pizza. Sorry.

The pizza is NOTHING to brag about and to add further it made me really sick after eating it. The pizza in taste is no different than your average NYC pizzeria. I do not recommend this pizzeria.

I still really like this place and I often daydream about their vegetable pizza, but I am deducting a star due to the slow service. I mean I understand that good things come to those who wait but they really take it to the next level. It just seems to me that things would be so much better if they ran more efficiently and not on slow motion.

Pretty good pizza. Had it delivered, along with some cheesecake. We loved the pizza (was just as good when we reheated the rest the next day, for lunch) but the cheesecake wasn't great. It was bland and just kinda meh. Recommend the pizza!

This is our neighborhood pizza place. Love the pizza - both grandma and regular pies. Wings are tasty too. Delivery or eat in is great. So consistent - never fail us. I love everything about this place. The owner is second generation pizzeria owner. So happy to have such a gem within delivery and walking distance. Thanks La Corsa!

Okay. Hoping the restaurant manager/owner reads this. The change in including garlic bread instead of Italian bread makes no sense when I order something that I'm used to dipping bread in. Please fix this either by informing the consumer or asking first. Garlic bread being the default bread may seem innovative to some but not to me..someone who prefers regular bread to dip into my meat sauce... my marinara sauce...my Francese sauce. Not cool.

I've eaten at many of the top Italian restaurants in the country; rarely have I experienced food as fresh and well prepared. Don't let the pizzeria style entry fool you. Move right to the the dining room in the back and you will discover a charming, cozy Italian restaurant. The staff are friendly and the restaurant will customize your meals to accommodate your palate. The seafood was fresh, the veal was tender and better prepared than my experiences with higher priced restaurants. The amazing gnocchi that the others at the table shared with me were homemade by the chef. This place is a jewel; my husband and I were very happy to have stumbled upon it. We will certainly be taking our friends and business partners here in the future. Lori H.

La Corsa is one of those nice Italian pizzerias where pizza is just half of what they do. I found this place about 2 years ago when it first opened up, and was surprised by the quality of the food. 4 Stars are basically all attributed to the food. I will get to service a little later, but let's focus on the grub. Food: PIZZA is The BEST. I have had Grimaldi's and Patsy's and this pizza is by far better than anything I have ever had at the other places. Much more customer friendly too. Pizza by the slice here is phenomenal. They fancy themselves on a godfather pizza and a shrimp pesto pizza, both of which I have never tried, but hear very good things about. I love the plain slices (oldschool like that) but also the baked ziti slice and chicken slices. When I don't get the pizza, I get a chicken parm wedge (or hero?) Always great. The entrees here are excellent also. All their pasta dishes are great. When the GF and I just want a nice italian dinner, this is our place to go to. Price: Very reasonable. Whether you are buying a whole pie, just a slice, or a 3 course meal, the prices here reflect the value that people in the neighborhood are looking for. Monday night is Pasta Night, never-ending style, so if you are hungry and broke, hit it up. Service: This is where they lose points. And don't get me wrong, I still come back here all the time, but I know there is always going to be a problem if I choose to dine in with the GF in the nice dining area behind the pizzeria front. An d thats the only problem. The dining area is quaint, inviting, adn during the summer, the patio out back is a nice little hide-away. Delivery is quick, when I go for a slice, no problem. But for some reason, dining here takes forever. Nino is a great owner and very friendly, but his hospitality and effort does not rub off on the servers. Just having someone come over to get drinks can take 5 minutes. I feel like we could order delivery, eat at home, then come back and our dinner still wouldn't be ready at the table. I think it is just a lack of focus. Getting the check...thats up to you, and half the time I feel like we could walkout and no one would notice. But I keep coming back, hoping every time it gets better. Never does. Take the food to-go, eat up front, or order delivery. Final Word: Eat, Enjoy, if service takes awhile, you have been warned, but I guarantee just like me....you will keep coming back. And rightfully so.

I absolutely ADORE La Corsa. I love everything about it; from the owners to the amazing food. I make sure to eat there at least once on every trip I take to New York. My mother, who has traveled to Italy several times, still swears it's the best Italian food she's ever had. The service in the dinning room might be a little slow, only because everything is cooked from scratch. But I hardly notice anyways, between the amazing bread and salad with Nina's homemade Italian dressing (yummy!). I'm coming for a visit in a few weeks and have started having dreams about all their food already. And my mother has started to beg me to bring her anything from La Corsa back on the plane.

My favorite specialty pizza shop. The penne vodka slice is creative and delicious. The owner and staff are always friendly and make this a true neighborhood spot.

I saw this place when they started building it months ago and when I realized it was going to be a pizza place I hoped with all my hear that they would not take cue's from most of the other neighborhood pizza places You know what I'm talking about, pizza places that try to cover up the cheapness of ingredients with tons of garlic salt NOT HERE! I am happy to report that La Corsa use quality ingredients, and it is noticeable in the taste. Yum. At $2.25 it's slightly expensive for a slice in this part of town but totally fine since it is quite tasty from those quality ingredients. I am looking forward to next time when i get to try the buffalo bleu cheese hot sauce chicken slice...it looked great and that's what the owner was dining on:) maybe I'll get it delivered next time... Added bonus it seemed like an actual italian american father/son joint!

The Italian food was amazing. The meatballs are huge, and full of flavor. They have a special bread that they serve, and they make their balsamic vinegar dressing from scratch. The penne ala vodka was delicious. Upon walking in I thought this was just a pizzeria, but the dinners were excellent. I am so happy that this restaurant is in East Harlem, because there are no Italian Restaurants in the area. You should definitely take a trip there!

Ordered up some pies at the last minute for a bunch of people. Quick and efficient service. The pizza was quite tasty. The topping choices weren't unique, but not traditionally layered ontop of the pizza but rather into it. Overall a great experience!

Thanks, Yelpers! Stopped in here last night to pick up three large pies for my Girl Scout troop. There's a reason this place has attracted 5 Yelp reviews in under a month. New, clean, friendly staff, yummy food. They even had vegan pizza available. Right across the street from housing projects! Whodathunkit? There was lots of seating available. A lot of customers came in as I waited for my order, but everyone was getting their food to go. I'll definitely come back and take advantage of the dining area. It was very clean and comfortable. Five stars!

Never again! I ordered a regular cheese pie. Instead of the cheese being gooey and melted it was dried out, as if it had been placed under a broiler. The taste of the pie was ok but not great.

Great variety of pizza styles and toppings. Nice decor and dining area. Want to try some pasta dishes soon. Couldn't be happier that this quality Italian restaurant has arrived in Spanish Harlem.

This place has great food, but if you are going to eat there then eat before you get there. I mean this place take a long time to give you your food so your better off geting there full since the food take so damn long. Well lets talk about the postives. They have great price options. Overall this place is A-OK.

A bit pricey, but the menu items that I've tried(white pizza, reg. pizza, veal parm hero), are pretty good, except for the gnocchi.

Pasta Monday is probably the greatest invention since moveable type. For the price of a regular dish of pasta ($9-14 or so) you get 1) really good fancy tomatoey fresh baked bread, 2) legitimately actually good salad, 3) extremely good pasta dish, 4) choice of cannolo or zeppoli for dessert, and 5) tea or coffee. Seriously and really this is an excellent deal, and the amazing part is that the food is very, very good. You'd expect to pay $12 for a cavalcade of crappy food, but to pay that little for a cavalcade of freshly prepared and really excellent food--that's pretty unheard of on the Isle of Manhattan. Also I'd like to note that the first time I went here I ordered pasta with a mozzarella, eggplant, and few other things sauce, and it took a while to come out. I was annoyed by the wait. And then I was completely unannoyed when I got it and was was absolutely delicious. The pasta sauces are actually just really, really good. I recently went here for a work dinner and all of the five people who ate five different dishes agreed. Unpretentious, truly delicious, inexpensive, and nice ambiance. Not a whole lot more you could ask for. *Did I say cannolo? I meant cannolo. They only give you one. But they will give you three zeppoli. Both are very good options.

Okay... this is my first post on Yelp because I had to let everyone know how good the Grandma slice is at La Corsa! My friends and I have stumbled upon the place and LITERALLY CAN'T STOP GOING BACK! It's an unexpected location, but worth the trip... so clean and nice! The pizza is insanely amazing... and trust me, I've been sampling NY slices for years now... this is AT THE TOP OF MY LIST! Consider yourself informed... you have no excuse not to go...

I was in NYC for the week and had this the first night i was there. I then ate there every day I was there the rest of the week. It's amazing to find a restaurant like this in east harlem. It's great for takeout and for eating in since the atmosphere is great, and very clean. Never had anything on the menu that I didn't love. Family Owned and opperated by awesome people. Chicken Marsala Pizza is incredible!

My new favorite pizza place. I went the other day for the first time, place is clean, staff is nice and pizza is awesome, crisp not soggy crust. Their full menu is quite expansive as well, has some great Italian favorites, less pricey than piata d'oro and more choices as well. I had the godfather pizza when I went - covered with veggies, great pizza. And rice balls, they definitely are true Italian. A definite if you are craving Italian food. A new great find for the neighborhood.

Finally got around to trying this place out and it was delish. We ordered the thin crust Grandma and thought it would be thinner but the crust was so good we didn't care. The cannoli was awesome, if you like yours a little sweeter. I am so happy to have another eatery in this area.

this place is fantastic. operating on some next level type stuff. the staff is extremely friendly and always stoked to explain the new and various unusual offerings of 'za they provide - crazy weird slices that are all delicious. the 'godfather' slice is stupendous - no cheese, no sauce, just loads of freshly minced veggies. holy hell it's good. highly recommended. if you are in this neighborhood and in the mood for za, nothing else comes close. if you're not in the neighborhood it's worth the trip.
