Pizza crumb cake is great however the WORST customer service I have ever had in my life!!!!! I tried to call in an order and at first, I was hung up on. The second call, not more than a minute later, I asked to speak to the manager. The response was that she wont be in until Tuesday. When I asked to speak to the top person there right now I was told that "no one" (employees word) could help me. Not once was I asked what is the reason for my call, or could someone attempt to help. All I wanted to do was order 15 crumb cakes to be Fed-Ex'd to Las Vegas. If I had employees working for me like the ones at this bakery, they would all be looking for new jobs!!!!!

So until I was 4 years old I lived in Natick MA with family in Patchouge. To this day one of my favorite memories of going to visit my grandparents on Long Island was waking up that first or second morning we were there EVERY TIME even after we moved to California. I'd wake up, smell the coffee, come into the dining room and there on the table was a big white pastry box full of crumb buns!!! My grandmother would always call a day ahead and head out to Hummel Hummel and pick up 2 dozen crumb buns for us.I remember that wonderful sweet but slightly salty crumble with the hint of almond like it was yesterday. Sadly my grandparents moved away many years ago so I rarely make it out there anymore =( Hummel-Hummel has many other wonderful and delicious items but their crumb buns and original crumb cake will always be my favorite. My cousin is planning to pick me up a dozen crumb buns before he flies out to visit me on the 11th and I can't wait!! Saying what's yummy from California, - Mike

Excellent Bakery-Love their cannoli cake and Chocolate cream pie. I was disappointed recently by the owners refusal to honor a livinghuntington certificate one day after it expired. I had made several attempts to use the certificate (three to be exact) they were closed twice for vacation and another time they were closed due to electrical problems. I think it was bad business for her not to honor the certificate. I would never buy a groupon for this place again. Still a nice place to go for good cake.

The pizza crumb is a local favorite, and once you try it, you will see why. I bought a box and split it up into four smaller airtight containers for Christmas parties and thank yous to neighbors.

Recently moved to Greenlawn, and our neighbor brought a pizza crumb to our housewarming party. Needless to say we were hooked and have been making the pizza crumb a regular addition when we go to parties.

Their crumb cake is amazing. I live near San Francisco. My mom lives near Los Angeles. Every time she flies to NY she goes to Hummel Hummel and bags several pieces of crumb cake which she puts in her luggage then stows in her freezer until I see her next. The one time I was in NY City on my own I took the LIR out to East Northport just to get some Hummel Hummel crumb cake and it was worth it. They put in a bit of almond extract and it is... wow. Just be sure to order early because they do run out!

Very disappointed. We ordered a special "Cheese Pizza Crumb" two days in advance *as required* by their rules for specialty items. We picked it up Saturday morning for a family event to be held later that evening. The box was sealed and labeled "cheese". Fast-forward to later that evening, we open it to find a plain pizza crumb, no cheese. By then it was too late to go back or even call. We had to serve it, as it was our only dessert option. We paid extra ($14.95) for cheese and did not get it. I felt like we wasted our money. It would be hard to return here again.

Having my first bite of Crumb Pie right now. It's good. Don't get me wrong. But isn't SOOOOO raveable? Maybe other flavors are. I'm only eating the regular pie. I'll go check out other flavors if in the neighborhood.

While I'm confused why so many of the reviews are from out of the area--we tired the bakery tonight and were waited on by two very nice girls--we tried the delicious chessecake and some of the almond crumb cake and found both delisious--we will be back to try more soon. Not a big or fancy place, but the food is worth coming back for

If you're into TRULY tasting the butter in your pastry and choking on its powdered sugar, this almond paste-accented fat and sugar bomb is the concoction for you (oops). For me, this messy, flaky goodness is something I could wholeheartedly recommend others try (which is tough since it's all or nada, which I asked the no-nonsense woman on the phone behind the counter to confirm) to bring back to the office or grab for an event ($11.95 for the original). This means I will never even remotely approach freebie status (see photo), but would consider purchasing again if I was heading to a gathering nearby where unharmed clothing is not paramount.

It was the one with raspberry in it.. I have NEVER tasted anything like it or so delicious!!!! I heardyou can order them through the mail and I plan to do that if that's that case! I have never written a review in my life but today I had to share a wonderful experience with Hummel Bakery. My neighbors just moved from Long Island to NC and unfortunately there was an illness. He lost a ton of weight in the hospital. We are working with him to get his strenghth back and one of his requests was the Pizza Crumb from Hummel! I called the bakery on Wednesday and by Friday it arrived at my doorstep! The person who answered the phone was so kind and personally handled the order. When I delivered it to him today he was thrilled!! It's nice to know that they deliver!

So here is another classic, been around for as long as I can remember, & its because they know what they are doing and do it well. If you never heard of "the pizza crumb" you dont know what you are missing. Its a thin layer of sweet dough topped with almondy, buttery crumbs...lots of them!!! OMG its awesome. But everything they make is great breads, rolls, pastries, cakes...all fantastic. And since service is to me such an important part of any business theirs is always friendly and attentive even when this place is busy, the young ladies who work here can handle it unlike some "other" bake shops in the Northport area that I have reviewed and Hummels products are MUCH better. Go get a pizza crumb I promise you will love it!

Love this mom and pop shop in a sea of big box retailers. I guess the H-H recipe is hard to replicate and even harder to scale. Their signature product, the pizza crumb is delicious when fresh. If you purchase the whole circle (their word for pie), then you'll likely have to save some for later. The product freezes well and is great after toasting. Their cheese cake is a lighter version of Junior's. I'm a fan.

I'm not a big consumer of sweets or baked goods, but my fiance's parents surprised with a Pizza Crumb cake and a Cheese cake from here on one of our first days living in East Northport and oh my. The crumb cake? Best I've had. The cheese cake? Definitely among the best I've ever had. Even the freakin' cookies! I never eat cookies! This bakery is the bomb.

HOLY COW! Just had my first pizza crumb(original flavor) and all i can say is wow. I'm seriously floored. So it's like a thin crumb cake in the shape of a pizza with a little flavor of almond paste. It's awesome and everything about it is right up my alley! Believe the hype bc this thing is one of the best crumb cakes I've ever had. I have discovered a true gem and I will be coming back for sure!

Visited Hummel-Hummel Bakery about a month ago. I served one of the crumb pizzas to guests and due to the underwhelmed feedback it received from everyone, I would never buy it again. The same goes for the cannoli. Unfortunately, this bakery is nothing to write home about. Friendly, helpful staff.... but that's as far as it goes.

There is no doubt that this is one of the best bakeries, ever. They have been around for a long time. My grandparents used to bring home one of their famous pizza crumb cakes. This place is a must visit! Be prepared to try to stop yourself from eating the whole thing. It's so addictive. You eat a piece, "save the rest for later," then the next thing you know, you're back for more. No regrets. Their cookies are also delicious. My sister was visiting from SC (used to live in NY) and of course, had to get some Hummel. We got a pizza and some cookies. The cookies were freshly made and ugh, just melted in our mouths! Without fail, we ate the whole box before we even made it home. Sneaky, sneaky cookies making their way to my mouth.

Can't beat their Pizza Crumb.... Pastry Heroin. It's so amazingly good and addictive that we have withdrawals. We can not have a holiday function without it. I bring a Pizza Crumb to every new neighbor, special event or office party. It is the center of attention every time. Not the friendliest bakery in town and the place is over-due for a serious remodel or update, but their Pizza Crumb is a hidden treasure known only to those who live nearby or have had the thrill of a tasting. They don't take pre-orders and it's first come first serve, line out the door during holiday season. Yes, Diary Barn does sell a smaller, frozen version which will do fine in a pinch.

Great place to visit every time your in Long Island.. I've had this since I was a little boy and the pizza crumb has been officially introduced into my new family! It's worth the trip they need more locations (including upstate NY -I would run it!)

If you've never had a HH Pizza crumb I suggest you do now, it's not a typical crumb cake but more of a very thin layered butter pastry that is topped with the most luscious crumb concoction of crumb and a little bit of vanilla frosting drizzle! Fantastic! Also I believe that they make them in raspberry as well, but I'm a purist and go for the classic. WARNING--- These things are addicting and it's easy to way, way to much at one sitting! Oh and a hint in case you don't live in the area, I almost positive that they began shipping these little gems and as well they sell them at the Dairy Barns locally, but not the same size at the dairy barns. Lovely treat!

My very favorite bakery in the world! The pizza crumb is phenomenal - it's like a crumb cake without so much cake on the bottom layer. You can order them with layers of flavors too. Any dessert spread is incomplete without cookies as good as theirs. And the cakes! They are so rich and delicious - my favorite is the classic seven-layer cake, which they do a beautiful job of writing on too. I cannot say enough good things about Hummel Hummel!
