I'm probably going to come off sounding like a snobby tourist/out-of-towner/Californian or whatever you want to call me. I somehow ended up here on a Thursday night. Here are some tidbits... Bartenders ignored me. Maybe it's because I'm the only non-caucasian guy at the bar? I have no idea. Maybe it's because Asians are stereotyped as bad tippers?. The place wasn't busy and I made an effort too. Once acknowledged they were seemingly nice. "I think" (opinion disclosure) the liquor is noticeably watered down. It tastes like I'm drinking 50% water. No joke. In CA the ABC does random testing of the alcohol in bars to make sure they're not watered down. Maybe that doesn't happen out here? 1 star for the place looking nice and the bartender comping us a few shots--maybe he knows the liquor is was watered down?

I know Churchills very well and have been there at least a dozen times. My sweetheart is a big fan of their Wednesday night "Unlimited Steak" special where he does his best to clean them out of all their meat. Four plates? Five? No problem for him. The wait staff start to sweat a little when they see him walk in the door. They know it's gonna be a long night. As for me, I am trying to eat a little more healthfully. And at Churchill's this can be a problem. Even most of their salads are packed with fatty or fried things. And not much else on the menu is health-conscious-- I usually order the grilled chicken sandwich and ditch the bread, and replace fries with baked potato. But that gets pretty boring. They did just recently re-do their menu, and I have seen a few more healthy items on it-- replacing the meatloaf with scallops, for example. But the other night when we were there we also noticed that they must have a new chef-- they changed the way the do nachos and definitely not for the better (replace real cheese with cheese-whiz? No thanks!) Its a busy reliable pub/restaurant with usually friendly service. I am sure we'll be back next Wednesday!

Good stuff! Bartenders are friendly, drinks relatively strong. The food's tasty; my darling's the *real* burger king & loves them here. The thing that sets them apart, says he, is that they're served on english muffins. Most of the food's rather tasty - the fries're especially crispy & salty. Only the desserts are lacking; one surmises they're not made in the kitchen. Then again, I'm generally stuffed by the time dessert rolls around. Re: Bringing a group: I was recently told that they don't accept reservations for dinner. It gets quite crowded quite quickly on weekend nights - if you're bringing a group, do lunch or prepare to wait.

I've come here several times, some for different kinds of parties and other times just to meet up for a casual night. The inside area is pretty chill- typical bar part seperated from seating and booths. I find it be cozy, chill, good food and fun music. The outside area is pretty decently sized, between the bar part and the seating part. The outside seating part even provides heaters if I remember correctly. Drinks are usually good. Most people usually have a good time.

What can I not say about Churchill's. The food is delicious and the service has always been great. My only complaint is that they did recently changed their sweet potato fries and they now taste like cardboard, but given the fact that the other food options are delicious, I won't hold it against them. You do have to look out though when a major sporting event going on, this place can get really packed making it difficult get a seat. The outdoor patio is large and can serve as a great place for larger parties. Long story short, this is one of the only places that I will frequent in the Rockville Centre area.

Took my wife, mother in law and brother in law for dinner. Service was lousy. We sat and waited for our server for over 10 mins. When we inquired where our server was, we were told she was in a meeting. Next the French onion soup came out luke warm at best. My medium well burger, well I think the cow was still mooing on the plate. Just one thing after another went bad. Manager tried to make things right but they failed miserably in provide a good dining experience. Manager took off soup and gave us dessert gratis. Not rushing back anytime soon.

Since I work in Rockville Centre, I've become a regular at Churchill's. Nothing makes my week better then spending Friday lunches with Danny at the bar. The service is fantastic, and extremely helpful. I've eaten almost all of the sandwiches/burgers on the menu, and I'd recommend any of them to a friend. My personal favorite is the Church Burger. Eating a burger on an English Muffin is exponentially better because you can enjoy the juices of the burger without getting a soggy bun! Overall, Churchill's is one of my favorite restaurants in RVC, and I'll definitely continue to eat here!

I can't rave enough about how awesome thief staff is!! Every single time I come in, the bartenders and waitresses are ways so friendly and ready with great suggestions. With so many restaurants and bars packed into RVC, this one has become a favorite. The food is always delicious and the wait is never long. Definitely give it a try.

This place is nice I came on a Thursday night and around 10pm it was pretty crowded. The staff was nice and beers moderately priced. I've never been to this bar before when coming to hang out in RVC but I'll be sure to visit again!

My friend is 23 and she got denied admittance to this bar, the bouncer was very rude on top of that, she asked where exactly she should go, and he answered with "do you want me to give you a tour of rockville center". Rudest staff ever.

  • Kristopher T.

Tried to get in with a group of friends Saturday night, men and women all over the age of 30 (some of whom are balding) and one was denied entry due to having an out-of-state New Jersey drivers license. Place wasn't remotely packed and we clearly all weren't under age with fake IDs. The NJ resident has already been there multiple times in the past so this is apparently a new policy. Will no longer be getting any of my or my friends business going forward.

  • Andrea C.

Great thing about rockville centre is the number of restaurants, downside is how packed they can get on a Saturday night. After receiving extremely long wait times (at 6pm!) at several other establishments, we were initially dismayed to find Churchhills just as packed. Yet the hostess offered to squeeze us into a small table with zero wait time, and our sauvingnon blanc went oddly well with our sweet potato fries, chicken panini's and swordfish tacos (as did our attentive and amicable server Griffen). I miss their Cobb Salad but Churchills has yet to disappoint us long time fans... Looking forward to the outdoor seating again once the weather gets above "I can't feel my face"

Good food, with a nice atmosphere. The burgers are tasty. And the fries are excellent, particularly the sweet potato fries. Also had a chicken sandwich, which was very good. The service is good; you are neither ignored nor hovered over. I would return.

I can provide the catered, private party perspective. If you're looking for the dine-in or nightlife scene, I'll have to report back to ya. This past weekend we had a baby shower for my cousin here. Let's just say we took over that place by storm. There is a main dining area and a sectioned off area for the bar. We definitely took over most of this space. The poor souls watching sports at the bar had to listen to us girls fawn over the cute baby clothes and toys. Churchill's provided us with a lovely brunch buffet. There was an assortment of eggs, sausage, bacon, rigatoni ala vodka, salad, potatoes and lemon chicken. The food was great and very organized. They even provided us with a nice big bowl of fruity "spiked" punch. On the tables there were baskets of muffins, breads and bagels galore. The servers were very helpful and on top of their game, making sure everyone's glass was full and plate was cleared. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's pub style... just how I like it. If you're having an event and you're in need of a space, I would recommend here!

This place has an awesome outside bar! I've become quite the fan this summer. Be prepared to drink, be merry, and sweat bullets. Drinks aren't exactly cheap, but some nights they have specials (i.e. pay half on Sundays). The only thing that irritates me is that sometimes they'll have food and sometimes they won't. For instance, last Friday I got wings (which were a complete rip off - 10 puny chicken wings for $10 dollars! OUCH!). This Friday, I was told no, the kitchen was closed. WTF?! Make up your mind people?!

  • Jennifer M.

Midday on a Saturday with hardly anyone in the restaurant, it took them nearly an hour to bring out our food. Wings are mediocre borderline terrible, they've got that nasty chewy/crunch thing going on like Croxley wings, but only slightly better. Sweet potato fries tasted no better than the kind you find in the grocer's freezer and a little oily and soggy. No pumpkin beers on tap or at all for that matter. Crab cake sandwich was decent, but forgettable. Everything we got was nothing more than mediocre. This place is great for corporate sponsored happy hours in the summer at the outside bar. Nothing more.

  • Bryan G.

The large patio and bar outside absolutely saves this place. Inside, the bar area can get crowded quickly, but walk through the back and you stumble on to a huge bar and real large patio, with lots of seats and tables. They have a decent selection of drinks and prices are average for the area. I can't speak for the food because I've never had it, but I've heard from others that it's pretty good.

    (3)
  • Bill C.

Went there for lunch today with friends. This place sure lived up to it's negative ratings. We all had the special crab salad wrap. It smelled very "fishy" and tasted worse. This crab salad must have been several days old. The fries were burnt. How they managed that I can't imagine. This place is a disgrace and should be shut down by the Nassau County Board of Health.

  • Lou S.

Good food however this was our first time at Churchills and we had a server named Liz who we saw 3 times: to take our order and 40 minutes later to ask if we wanted our check (btw the bus boys took out plates away 15 minutes before she asked if we wanted our check) and it took yet another 20 minutes to get our check. But it wasn't our waitress to give us the check.

A good place. They have nice selections, big bar. Prices are reasonable. Service is excellent.

This place is not a diner, nor is it a place to eat. It is a place that just so happens to have the additional option of getting food. Dont go here for food.

  • Lorenzo P.

Altough the bar might have a good atmosphere, the resturant is a hole other story service very slow, food is cold to warm, waiter always rushing away from our table, no attention given to our table and had to ask for water and other items. I will not return ...... And I live local

This place was ok, I was there on Sunday, but it was still busy because of Labor Day weekend. They had OK beers, and I was really excited to see that they had Post Road Pumpkin ale. Unfortunately it was skunked and I only wound up drinking half of it. The outside area was a bit dirty and felt kinda like a frat party. Meh.

I've only been here in the winter for dinner and drinks and had great times both nights. They have outdoor seating int he summer which is always a plus.

  • Damian K.

I was there a couple of nights ago. All I had was their sliders but they were damn good. I saw some other plates come out that looked quite appetizing. Their nachos looked awesome and I'm sure they taste how they looked. Just wanted to update on the food there since I wasn't certain in my last review. Oh, and once again the bartenders were extremely accomodating.

  • Victor L.

Awesome in the summer because you can sit outside! Except when it rains, everyone huddles under the tent they provide. It gets kind of packed on Saturday nights, but then you can cross the street to Croxley's and get delicious wings!

I had a cheeseburger and a glass of wine. Courteous friendly staff. Perfect medium rare burger. I had one of my friend's onion rings which was killer delicious. I will return for more!! For you young'uns, it's an older crowd.

Just great burgers. A perfect medium-rare on mine. I had the Steakhouse burger worth bleu cheese and the onion rings were amazing.

I absolutely loved the skirt steak here. It's a very decent place for family or friends since it has a dinner section of tables, and a seperate section at a bar.

  • Alicia C.

I went here with a group of friends over the weekend for dinner and drinks. The staff was very rude. The waitress had an attitude and was hostile the entire night. We asked for a glass of wine and a few beers with our dinner and she told us that she was not a cocktail waitress and that we had to get our drinks at the bar. The food was okay. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. Since there are a ton of better bars in RVC I would skip this one next time.

  • Marcus C.

The diversity in this restaurant and surrounding area seems...lacking. This review is for a firm event that I attended, so my experience is likely atypical. Food: mediocre at best, but perhaps the pasta, lemon chicken, and vegetables were made so that it would be the lowest cost for a buffet-style meal for 50 people. Service: this made it gain one star. The wait-staff was extremely friendly and attentive! Decor: darker than I like. There's also a sports bar and the place is filled with televisions, even in the private dining room.

Standard rvc pub food. Usually pretty good, but I went a few weeks ago and it was pretty bad. We had a big table on a Saturday night and almost every plate was really salty, too spicy, or just not right. I got a steak sandwich and received the bottom part of a roll (usually it's open faced with both sides, with a huge hunk of steak and globs of melted cheese in top. Nothing was sliced and the meat was tough. Pretty sure whoever made it had never cooked before. I don't know if they got a new chef or something but it was bad. Another person got shepherds pie and it tasted like really salty taco seasoning was dumped in. Please, please get a better chef and figure out what is going on in the kitchen!!!

This is a good spot to grab a few drinks or have some brunch. I've been here a few times and always enjoyed myself. It's pretty basic but good pub food. Their homefries are really good. My only complaint would be that I was last here Sunday for brunch and the service was not so great, but the food was tasty.

    (3)
  • Mike C.

4 stars for drinks and hanging out with friends.... Maybe the best casual hang out spot in RVC. 2 stars for food... I got the chicken tidbit meal, portion size was small and unsatisfying. 3 stars overall. Good math.

  • Mary E.

It's a nice restaurant but the 5+ times I've been there, something in the order always seems to get messed up. Burgers being well overcooked, bacon being fatty and soggy, etc. When the orders do come out right, the food is definitely good, so I would recommend giving it a shot if you're in the area. Just let your waiter know if your meal is not cooked correctly, because they are always willing to fix the problem.

Visited for a special event in private room. Excellent service and food. The waiters didn't miss a beat. Quick to refresh drinks and remove dirty dishes. We had beef, chicken parm, vodka pasta, potatoes, broccoli. All delicious.

Traveled from Florida to go to a wedding, and watch the Dolphins play football. Brett and Tommy were our bartenders. Loved the filet sliders ( melted in my mouth ). Would come back. You will not be disappointed. !!! 5 stars for sure !!!

  • Katie N.

Awesome place to eat, drink and work! So since I did work there, I may be a little bias as far as complementing the service, even though I was a hostess not a waiter. However, I do feel the owner does everything he can to make sure the customers are getting the best possible service. And all of the servers I observed both working and as a patron were great. I have had the opportunity to try the majority of the menu and the food is definitely superior to your every day pub food. My favorite would probably be the Wisconsin Burger and I do also love the Spinach and Artichoke dip as an appetizer as sophomoric of a choice as that is. For the bar scene it definitely is a mixed crowd but the outside bar is nice especially in the summer and it tends to be where the younger crowd migrates to. The drinks are inexpensive and the bartenders attentive. Brunch is also a popular although I have never personally experienced it, we always had a lot of regulars coming back, I definitely want to try it one day.

Best pub food around. Great service, food, bartenders, and ownership. I've been hanging out and eating here for over 10 years. The outside bar and patio are awesome in the warmer months. Best buffalo wings anywhere. Specials are always spot on. Appetizers are delicious and plentiful. I would recommend the chicken pot pie!. Go in and tell Kevin I said hi!

I wish I could give 3.5 stars.....Me and my boyfriend were starving and wanted to grab dinner, we originally were heading to Winston's but because my boyfriend was "starving" he didn't think there small plates would fill him up, so we decided to come here. We both never ate here before. Most reviews said the food was really good and the service sucked. I agree. We came in were sat at this horrible awkward table kind of in the middle of everyone's dinner it felt like, and it was so small and in the way. We asked for a booth and the hostess moved us. She was very nice. We sat for about ten minutes before anyone came over. My boyfriend didn't like that they didn't have a big craft beer selection but he settled with lagunitas. I ordered a margarita and a soda. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks to come and they were not busy at all. The diet coke actually tasted like straight water it was the weirdest thing I ever tasted. My margarita was watered down too. I don't know if it's their system or if she let the drinks sit there for so damn long they tasted like water. I had to go to the bar and ask for a sprite instead because it was not soda at all. The margarita was watery but it was bearable. Not good but i bet it would have been if I got it right away. I'm a server so I thought it was almost funny when she came with the drinks 20 minutes later and asked if we needed more time to look at the menu. I laughed and I said I hope not lol. We ordered the nachos to start, with no chile. The nachos were good but the guacamole wasn't good and it was really just mashed avocado it was gross and the nachos weren't covered everywhere only a few of the nachos had cheese, but overall they were good. When we place our orders my BF got the BBQ burger medium well on a roll with fries, she asked him if he wanted a potato roll or an English muffin. When I ordered I said a well done hamburger with fries and I said and on the potato roll. And she's like you want your fries on a potato roll? What? Really? Was that just a real question lol. At least it was entertaining. She never asked us how our appetizer was. When we got our burgers mine was BLACK. There is a huge difference between no pink and burnt a very big difference. I ate it anyway, and it was good. The fries were good too. I really really hate English muffins and potato rolls. You can't possibly make a good burger on either of those. We were done for about 15 minutes before I got up to tell a different server we wanted our check and were pretty much being held hostage. Except I really just said because we haven't seen our server since the beginning. I go to the bathroom she brings the check, my boyfriend saw she charged us for two sodas when I only had one so he asks her to take it off. He said she responded as if she was catching him in a lie! She was like actually they told me that she got one from the bar and to ring it in. Which can't possibly be true unless the bartender is that dumb. I handed him my soda said it tasted like water and asked for a sprite. He said no problem and offered to fix the syrup and I said no thank u I was fine with a sprite. Anyway he told her that and than she was like oh okay I didn't no she switched it. Which she had walked by about 5 seconds after that and this was all when we first sat so you think I drank a diet coke in 2 seconds and was already downing a sprite? Lol cmon ... In my mind as a server 15% is a horrible tip and that's double the tax but I never tip that low. I tip from 18-25% but she did not earn that at all!!! First time at church hills was so awkward! But we liked the food even though my burger was black. Maybe we'll come back I don't no.

Great service, and excellent comfort food menu. Nice place to go in the fall or winter where you can enjoy some stick to your ribs meals with a crisp seasonal beer! Not a party bar, it's perfect for a family night out, lunch, Sunday brunch, or a relaxed late dinner with your spouse.

Have been here many times.. always have had a good experience. Friendly staff and always good food. However, I had an experience the other week that made me feel a little differently. I came in with a friend on ladies night to grab a few drinks. We decided to go to the back bar because it was nice outside. We went up to the bar to ask the bartender, Elizabeth, about the wine choices. Although it is a bartenders job to ask for an ID before serving anyone I think it would be proper manners to not ask for one while your customer is in the middle of asking you a question. After the rude interruption, we decided to still stay and get a glass of wine. I have been here numerous times like I said before and the glasses were without a doubt an under pour. I am disappointed because I've always had a good experience here.. not sure if I will be returning to the bar.

Came here for drinks only late in the evening so I will update if I try the food at some point. Nice bar located across the street from Croxley's which I have been to many times and next to the Dark Horse Tavern which I don't particularly care for. For some reason I've never gone to Churchill's before. The place is a nice bar / restaurant with a large outdoor bar area as well. Pretty standard beer selection and a full liquor bar. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive and this was a nice place to finish off the evening. I would definitely come back for drinks and / or to try the food.

Great priced fixed dinner menu, and the Sunday brunch is incredible with all you can drink bloody Mary's and Mimosas for 3-4hours included in the brunch plate prices. The food is always consistent and delicious.

Churchills for me never gets old. The crowd is 23 and over most of time, not too fratty and not too jam packed and that get wasted and try to meet someone to hook up with type of crowd. The inside is more likely the HH crew would hang or my parents. Outside is definitely more young. It is the only place I prefer hanging around at when I stay local. Good beer selection and drinks were not bad on a friday night $6 a mixed drink. The outdoor patio is clutch all year because there are space heaters that do a good job keeping you warm. It never takes me long to get served inside or outside...and oh yeah none of that $20 minimum bullshit. Food I can't vouch for but by the looks of the other reviews chances of me eating there are 0%.
