I used this place because its right near my job and its the only Chinese place around... After today i'm not going back... lady on the phone is so rude and is in a rush to get you off the phone. I called at 12:10 to give enough time to have my food here at lunch hour which is 12:30... even if they were a little late i would understand but no the guy didnt show up until 12:50!!!!!!!!! when i called to complain the lady yells at me saying i had given her the wrong address. No lady you were in such a rush to get me off the phone that you didnt hear my correct! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and the food is sooooo not worth it!!!!

5 Stars to help balance all the 1 star reviews. why say the food is okay and only give 1 star? this is a 3 star joint. 4 stars when you consider that you are ordering cheap Chinese I have ordered a few times and i will order again. nothing special but the food is regular edible cheap Chinese. not nearly as greasy as some of the other LIC choices. I place large orders. last order was for 13 meals for the guys working late. All the food ordered was included plus some extras and plenty of condiments and cookies. I have no complaints. Delivery was timely. They do not advertise Gourmet $$$ fair. Either Yelpers need to be a little more reasonable or the other reviews are written by local competition.

I don't know how they are still open. Worse chinese food in the area. They do however deliver fast but that's about the only good thing they do. Please I beg you to go somewhere else.

There's a reason this place is rated at one star. My friend and I ordered delivery from here and BOTH got sick the next day. Someone should really report this dump.

Had a few bad experiences here with the food and service, and the manager (owner?) can be unpleasant. Only good for a rush-rush lunch in the Court Square area, not much more. The regular plates are greasy, even for fast-food Chinese, and suffer from cut-rate chef and ingredients. Owner wants to turn max profit, I guess. Avoid.

They are sheisty. At 7:30pm they charged me for a lunch special which happens to be $.75 more then a small dinner order. Then the delivery guy tried to tack on two more dollars at the door. They only gave us one fortune cookie for two orders and they are very unpleasant on the phone. Do not give them your business!

Fast delivery, bad food. I'm Jewish, maybe my chinese food standards are too high. Either way, ugh. Extra star for quick delivery, but ughhhhhh. Avoid, IMO.

in what seems to be my never-ending search for decent food in LIC, i came upon mr. wonton. mr. wonton doesnt make good wontons. how can you trust it'll make anything else well?

Just ordered from here for the second time, and now I'm in complete agreement with the other reviewers. The food was completely lackluster. The first time around, the food was generic, but not necessarily in a bad way. The second time, however, it was not good at all - soggy General Tso's and (gassy) Kung Pao. Too bad there are no real alternatives for Chinese delivery in LIC.

I ordered dinner last night here since it is my husband s comfort food restaurant. Dumplings are freshly made which was impressive though the dough is a bit too thick, it is chewy. Unlike many places are premade and frozen. The dumpling sauce goes very will with dumplings. Moosu shrimp is average, the good side is less oily. General Tao s chicken is a little sweet for me but perfect for my husband. Lack of their signature dish though. Wish they make some fish dishes (Whole fish with bone in) My husband and I ordered dinner here for the past three days. I start liking the thick skin dumplings now after a few orders. Today I changed my mind totally toward them. Because they missed dumpling sauce and moosu pancakes after delivery. So I called. The lady was apologetic and was willing to send to us. But I did not want to be a nuisance so I said no need to besides everyone makes mistakes. She was thankful. But about 15 mins later my door bell rang it was the missing sauce and pancakes. Wow! I am impressed by their service. Who said Chinese restaurants do not have good service. They deserve a 4 star! Over all it is a decent Chinese take out place in Long Island city. Their food is consistent. fast delivery. It becomes my family s backbone dinner takeout place.

For three years I have lived and worked in the area and avoided Mr. Wonton due to three main reasons: bad reputation, bad health dept ratings, and Fortune Cookie Restaurant nearby was better. Well, finally the other day I came here since a coworker was stopping in for lunch. I figured what the hay, it can't be all that bad right, it's just take off chinese? Wrong. I got the General Tso's chicken lunch special. Meat was very very chewy and unpleasant to eat. Sauce did not have much taste, I prefer General Tso a tad sweet. -2 stars The ordering system is very confusing, the worker lady just shouts at people collecting money and getting orders from different people at the same time. - 1 star Health department rating is always B or worse. I heard a rumor that it got shut down at least once. - 2 stars In Conclusion: Avoid. the better take out Chinese in the area is Fortune Cookie, which just reopened next to Key Foods. Go there instead for better food and friendlier service. Pros: N/A Cons: Chewy meat -2 star tasteless sauce bad service - 1 star health Dept violations -2 stars Total score: 0 stars

So I was crazy craving wonton soup and my bf was in the mood for some kung pao chicken when we passed this place. It says MR. WONTON on the sign out front so I was sure it was a - ahem - a sign.... It's been hard to find cheap good wonton soup in the area. And unfortunately my search still continues. The wontons were very dough-y (if that's even a word) with not enough filling. Might as well have ordered a dumpling soup instead. I haven't tried the rest of the grub at the place so I cannot speak for it all BUT for a place that names their restaurant after a specific dish you would think that, that specific dish would be freakin' fantastic, right? Sadly...wrong.

Expensive hood Chinese food. I paid almost $9 for general Tso's chicken with lo mein. It was pretty good although I didn't know they addes mushrooms in it. That's nasty to me. Anyway, it was tasty but very, very oily. I couldn't finish all of it, so I saved the rest for the next day and it was just as good. Not really somewhere I'd frequent to be honest. The lady at the counter is very aggressive.

I'm not giving them five stars because I got my maverick badge for checking in here...they get it for the great food at a killer price Take a look at their menu - the sheer number of dishes and the options with sauces n soups, the have a broader selection than Walmart. And these guys are slaving 7 days a week, 365 days a year over a wok spewing hot grease steam in their face...give em a break. Waking in its not the nicest place, but we're not in a Michelin star restaurant in manhattan - we're in the prison cellars of Long Island city...what do you expect sucka? I ordered pickup and walked over from my place - the lady had the food ready, packed me a napkin fork and spoon and offered me noodles...no thanks, my muffin top is on a little break right now. But she was very polite, FAST (cause she wanted my money and for me to get the h&ll out of there), and efficient. Very important in good service I walked back for about 12 minutes with the food. When I got back to eat it, it was still hot from all the oil and grease - hmmmmm...high cholesterol and coronary artery disease a bite away I got the lunch special. Comes with dish and soup. All packed in styrofoam - Chinese people don give a sh@t about environment - it's Bout the bottom line and I'm down. I started with my wonton soup - first appearance, the broth was dark as soy sauce. Wontons tasted good, but I was disappointed there wasn't more vegetable. Namely spinach foolio - 3 wontons all together. So. Not bad for value Then came the chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce. Newbies would get the brown sauce, but this is Chinese takeout people - have it your way, dumby! Excellent taste. Broccoli was crispy and not mush like mash potatoes - some places don't get this right. Chicken was excellent - white meat and fresh with good meAt:vegetable rTio overall - I would dare say almost 1:1. They partitioned the chicken n broccoli from the fried rice instead of putting it right on top - I absolutely hate it when places do this. But they got it right with me Of course they advertise no msg - why? MSG makes things taste better. After finishing my meal, I was drowsy. Very drowsy. Chinese food + nap is best combination in the world. Trust me, I'm a Yelper and I know what I'm talking about Overall excellent experience from service, price and food (6$ and change for lunch special). I've been to the greats for Chinese takeout - LinWo, How How, BoBo kitchen and Chinese Garden. Mr Wonton is one of the greats and will contribute greatly in shaping my muffin top!

I have ordered multiple times for diner. Never had bad service or attitude. The lady is friendly and courteous. Never had a problem with the food, which is tasty. My friends have ordered from here when they visit and they liked. The price is just right. If you want cheaper, go to the hood!

Horrible customer service from the lady who takes the order. I called the order in at 1:10pm its 2:19 and the order has not arrived. Called twice and the rude lady hung up TWICE on me. Never ever again. will not order here anymore all because the lady was a bitch!!!!

Had 5 minutes for lunch... so I stopped in here while working out of our offices in Long Island City. Lunch special runs a whopping $7 for a carb (pasta or rice) and two sides (they have about 4-5 options). If you're in a similar situation, recommend coming before 1pm when it gets cold. Or alternatively, order off of the menu. On the bright side, I was in and out and back at my desk in 5 minutes.

The food is not that bad Is ok for the price you pay ,the staff is not so friendly they are actually quiet rude ,loud and sarcastic. what brings me here to write this review is the restaurant it self they never want to put the heat in the winter . You can see the staff with 3-4 layers of cloths and is just not very pleasant to eat with no heat the food gets cold very fast .it shows they don't care about them self yet alone about the staff and the regulars that go there to eat , your way better off going to the hood at lease they put the heat on

Yes, this is the hood Chinese spot of Long Island City, Sorry foodies and elitists, you are not going to get the same quality of Chinese food as you get in your little upscale fusion restaurants on Vernon Blvd, or Schezwan-style meals as in Chinatown or Flushing. What you are going to get is your basic lunch-menu driven items (Chicken and Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Fried Chicken Wings, etc.). Do not be mad when you try to order the exotic items on the menu, which are only there because it is the same menu template as used in every other store front Chinese restaurant in NYC. Yes, the woman taking your order at the counter is loud, feisty, and surly (love that!), and you'd better be ready to order when she calls on you and do not pay with a debit/credit card unless you wish to risk her wrath, However the woman is amazing, juggling dozens of orders taken in her memory and remembering what her regulars (and there are plenty of them) order. This place is across the street from the Citi Building and nearby the new DOHMH Headquarters. We poor city workers cannot afford the fancy expensive places to eat, and there is a lack of places to eat in the area anyway. If you are looking for something to basically fill your stomach without breaking the bank, this is the place. Foodies/Elitists/Yuppies take your attitudes elsewhere.

Hope service could improve. Order brown rice but delivered white rice. Disappointed since I always count on their food as our family s comfort food.

ABOVE AVERAGE: Always order from Seamless for Delivery. Oily yes, but cheap and fast, and tasty. Not going to go on Food Channel, or make any culinary trends anytime soon, but good.
