My boyfriend and I came here for an impromptu anniversary celebration. We could not have chosen better. The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant until the moment we left, and the food & beer was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Black Bean and Avocado veggie burger. The burger itself was tasty, but the ciabatta bun was probably the best ciabatta I've ever eaten so I absolutely had to comment on that. I asked the waiter how they managed to make it so soft and he told us witchcraft. We liked that answer :)

This review might be a little biased because we came here tonight, during "Alive at Five", so to say they were busy was an under statement. Came here with my family, a party of 6. Waited about 45 minutes to be seated. Service and food were both pretty bad. Personally, I had the steak and mozzarella sandwich which was overlooked and cold at the same time. To make things worse, we had no silverware until 10 minutes after getting the food and asking for some 2x. Also, we did not get our drinks until we were almost done with our meal. This is not acceptable. I know they were very busy, but come on people. Drinks first, silverware to eat with please.

You gotta love Brick House! I always have a great time here and for good reasons... BEER!!! Brick House has one of the most inventive and original brews and beer cocktail menus I've come across -and they actually pull it all off nicely! Their Brick House Red is easily one of my favorite peers to come out of L.I. The food here is equally as good and feature items that go all over the place like Mahi Mahi tacos, chile shrimp wontons, mussels, and on and on... The Brewben: corned beef braised in ale on rye topped with Brussels sprout sauerkraut is just insanely delicious and my favorite. There's always something going on here and typically draws a friendly crowd of people who are out to have a great brew with like-minded people. Weekends pack out especially when local bands come to jam which only adds to the festive vibe of the place. BHB will always be kept in my rotation of places to get my drink on. I only wished I lived closer!

I was walking around Patchogue last night and they are really stepping up their game. Lots of great new restaurants and the town is totally dedicate to beer! (My kinda town) Which brings me to the Brickhouse Brewery & Restaurant. They've been in business for a long time, they have great beer! How are they for food after all these new places are popping up? Yeah, the service still sucks but the food is actually pretty current. We started with a bowl of Mussels, cooked perfectly! I ordered the Oyster Po Boy and my wife ordered the Chicken Sage burger. What we noticed on both our sandwiches, the Ciabatta bread wasn't toasted. Just sliced cold, it made for a chewy entree. But the chicken burger with the Sage? I grow Sage, its easy to grow and adds flavor to bland chicken. My Oysters? They were pretty plentiful on my sandwich and anything fried tastes great. It's a 3 1/2 star meal but when you add the Stout I just had? Pushes the meal to (4) stars. I like this place. The next time I'm back, I'll order my other favorite sandwich, The "Brewben".

Go for the beer, but nothing more. No nice way of putting this: The food SUCKS. It's a grease pit. Every meal that came to the table has dishes that were slick with grease and oil. My fiance had the shepherds pie, and there was literally a pool of grease at the bottom of her dish. It was absolutely foul to look at. I have a black pepper allergy. I asked for no black pepper on my meal, which my well-informed, judgy hipster waiter assured me wouldn't be a problem because my meal didn't have black pepper on it anyway. Care to guess about what happens when my food comes out? I'll spoil it for you: Loaded with black pepper. I had ordered a 3rd beer with my meal, and the look he gave me of, "really, another?" was far from gratifying. I could understand if I was on my eighth martini, but not on my third beer. The restaurant looks like they raided an abandoned Ground Round, found the least stained and broken stuff, and brought it back with them. It is a small space that was completely overcrowded with more tables and chairs than they can actually accommodate. The beer was very good, which I guess is the point in a brewery, but if that is the case, ditch the restaurant aspect because that is what is killing my review, and I'm sure most others (will need to go back and read some). Stick to appetizers, easy pub food, clear out the tables in the back, add a pool table and some dart boards, and this place would be a fun hangout, or at least better than what it is now. There are a lot of cool places in Patchogue, so I'll likely be passing on this one in the future.

The reviews from my family were mixed. So I need to go off of what I had. I ordered a chicken and coos coos dish with veggie and it was awesome. Everything was cooked to perfection. However I thought the portion was rather small. Really it was not even a full chicken cutlet. This place has a great atmosphere in a cool location. I got to come back when they have a band playing. I can see why this might be a local favorite.

Overall, decent beer and decent food. Worth checking out. Pros- location is in a really fun downtown area. While it's difficult for us to get to in regards to trains and being far out on LI, the downtown area becomes an awesome destination. Beer is average. Food is average. I enjoyed the cowboy burger. Came medium rare when ordered medium, but better that way than medium well. Bacon was a little too crispy but added great flavor. Fries were good. Service was good too. Cons- There weren't many cons here. Beer is average and it definitely isn't the best place to grab a beer in patchogue. I'd come back for sure but there is a lot of competition. I'd definitely go to other places downtown in lieu of here.

BF & I had lunch here and were not disappointed. The staff is extremely nice & they give really adequate food proportions. We sat on their patio area and loved the privacy as there are not many people that like to sit outside on a wednesday afternoon. FOOD: BF ordered the New Streetlight Chicken Sandwich: grilled chicken breast, gruyere cheese, applewood smoked bacon, arugula, served on a fresh pretzel roll with a generous smear of homemade honey beer mustard. ($12) The sandwich came with sweet potatoes. It was really good. I ordered their smoked gouda mac & cheese ($5) which was amazing. For entree, I ordered their Street Light Cod Fish & Chips: white flaky cod fillets in our street light beer batter served with frites and spicy remoulade ($16). SO FREAKIN' DELICIOUS!!! Very worth it. BEERS: A Lime After 5 (a hoppy lime peel pale ale), BrickHouse Red (BHB signature red ale), Street Light (smooth blonde ale) and an Apple Weisse (hefeweizen brewed with apple and pear). All very great choices. All in all, it was a great lunch with an even better service because our waitress was very polite and didn't hover over us. Every time we wanted another drink there was at least someone around that we could call over to us. Would recommend to anyone.

They had a nice hummus wrap that I enjoyed, also came with veggie medley, pretty good for vegans/vegetarian; live music was nice! Crowd was different in a good way, lots of unique people

Usually this place is good. I like the selection of beer and I enjoy the food. The service was pretty horrendous on 6/14/15. I guess the b team was working today because our food went to another table and they thought it was theirs. Also, our waiter asks if we want desert, we didn't even get our entree. They really shit the bed tonight. Hopefully it's better next time.

This place used to great now it just plain sucks I mean come on Irish pub that can't make corned beef Ruben, they apparently lost there old chef, and the one who is now in control completely changed the menu trying to be all fancy. We have been coming here basically since they opened the doors after tonight I don't think we will be returning anytime soon. At least the beer is still ok that's not even as good as it once was but still drinkable.........Do not go to

Loved Brickhouse more than anything when I first turned 21. Brought all my friends here for food and drinks and just overall good feeling at the bar. I still like the bar alot but the new menu flat out sucks. Trying to fit into this new fancy Patchogue but idt anybody wants that from this place. Please bring the old menu back and the good feelings back

At first I was a little hesitant to write a review because I used to work here. But since it has been almost 6 years and they now have a different menu I do not see the harm. I think one of the things that make's the Brick House so interesting is the history, I'm not going to go into all of it but I like the fact the Brick House was one of the first restaurants in the village of Patchogue before Patchogue exposed into all bars and restaurants. Like I said before they did come out of a new/updated menu which to be honest is ok. Most/all of the sandwiches come on ciabatta bread which I find to hard or just too much bread. I took my parents here the other day to use a Groupon and I ordered the gorgonzola steak sandwich. (it used to be served on a wrap which I find better, so ask they might have some wraps in the back you never know) This time I ordered it without the bread and it was month watering amazing. The steak is cook perfectly and loaded with cheese. It was like getting a steak meal without having to pay for a steak. I was able to order it with a side augural salad, which I was happy about because the last time I went in I was told I could not make one of the main salads they sold as a side. My father got a burger which he licked the plate and my mom got the black bean/avocado burger. She said it was a little dry but she ate the whole thing. Over all I was very happy with the meal. I will say I will never touch the beer. No matter if I have one or eight their beer will always make me hangover and feel sick the next day. The bar could really use a good updating. I understand its been around for over a decade but now with all the other bar/restaurants in Patchogue it could use a good cleaning and new decor.

Good atmosphere with a very good service at the bar. The beer, IPA, was good. They had live music on a Monday night. I'd go back if I'm in the area again.

Long time customers here. The new menu they made a few months ago is inferior to the older one. In what we assume is an attempt to class up the restaurant and make it more upscale, the menu has lost a lot of the fun, unique items which gave BHB its charm and heart. Gone is the incredible selection of sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas, and in its place is a smaller, condensed menu with just a few of the longtime favorites. Fortunately the Streetlight sandwich is still on it (there'd be hell to pay if it weren't :| ) In good news, the brewery end is just as good though. In bad news, this draws in the drunk crowd more and more, but ah well that can't be helped. One minor gripe we've had the past few times is the chicken fingers tend to be amazingly greasy everytime. I mean yeah they're fried, and they taste yummy, but they just could stand a better draining/pat-down after cooking since they sit like a lead weight in your stomach. Also, as with every place in Patchogue now basically, it's always crowded, and you pretty much need to get in by 6pm if you don't want to wait an hour for your food.

This place could be so good if they got it together. The food is great, the general vibe is cool, the service is the worst. There are so many bars and places to eat in Patchogue and this is the WORST. Every time we go to Brickhouse I cringe at how terrible the servers are. 15 minutes to even get a waiter close enough to ask if someone was going to help us, after being seated by the hostess. It's not even just one visit that this review is based off of, every time I go there it is embarrassing how bad the wait staff is. Maybe they should come around more then twice? Maybe ask if I want a box for my half eaten plate of food? The other bars in the area have just as good of a menu and such better service, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. Lacking in such basic skills.

I will say, for the most part, I have always had a decent experience here. Except for the one night myself and three friends sat down the bar from an extremely overweight man who was constantly picking and scratching what appeared to be bug bites or some other skin condition on his arms and legs. For the better part of an hour, this person displayed the most disgusting, barnyard like behavior I have ever seen in public. Finally, having enough, I tried to get his attention by clearing my throat and giving him a dirty look. This worked , but only for a minute. He then proceeded to kick off his flip flop, scratch the bottom of his bare foot and with the same hand reached into the fruit dispenser and grabbed a slice of fruit. The bartender closest to us saw this and said nothing. Knowing that 2 of the four drinks in front of us had fruit from the same dispenser in them, we walked out, vowing never to come here again. I may complain to the Board of Health.

I must say, I was super pleased with my experience here! We came during the week, so it wasn't very crowded, but the set up is such that it wouldn't seem too cramped even if it was a busy night. We were sat immediately by a friendly hostess and given our menus and the drink menu. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and steered my fiance' towards the right beer for him, based on his tastes. I went with a Cucumber Mojito, which was very strong and very sweet, but delicious. For a pub, the food selection is diverse and unique. My fiancee' ordered a burger with all of the bells and whistles; Mushrooms, onions, Swiss, etc., while I opted for a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The wrap was large enough to take half home! Quality and service were excellent. Everything tasted great and was served very quickly. We skipped dessert to go to a cupcake shop across the street (see review...), but I will update this review when whenever do end up ordering dessert here. The cost was very reasonable. I think it came to around $35-$40, for the both of us. Bottom line, we shall be returning to try the rest of the menu and of course, the drink menu!! Cheers!!

We have been here a few times and the food was good the beer great. While the beer is still great the food eh well not so good this time. The service was good I ordered an appetizer of the buffalo wings and they were very greasy. My fiancé ordered the oxtail dish and it really didn't taste like anything. The dining room was very noisy but I guess when it's packed that's what it's going to be. I ordered the ribs they weren't bad but not as good as they used to be I don't know if I'll try this place again.

We are so sad!!! We used to LOVE coming here to eat, but the new menu is very disappointing. Not sure if we just ordered the wrongs things, but there shouldn't be any wrong things on a menu! We haven't been here in a while, so this was our first try at the new menu. Started with the nitro boom chili, which was delicious as always and the highlight of the entire meal. Used to come with cheddar and onions, didn't come with either this time (nor were we asked to add them, we just assumed, oops!). We also ordered the cheddar jack and jalapeño mac and cheese. It wasn't anything special, really no great flavor from the cheese or the peppers. We used to LOVE the burgers, so that's what we ordered! We both ordered the Brickhouse Bacon Cheddar Burger and were able to get it marinated. Their marinated burgers used to be awesome!!! These were cooked well, but again, weren't anything special, definitely not as good as they used to be. We almost always brought half a burger home each, this time it wasn't worth it, we didn't need to pack up our leftovers. With so many great places to eat in Patchogue, and better beer selections elsewhere in town, we sadly won't be back.

I love this place and miss it so much! Mainly go for lunches early dinners. Have the best chicken caesar salad they also how to wrap and a taco salad but I see they changed the menu quite a bit. My other favorite when having a meal meal is the steak w/ garlic mash potatoes & gravy. But their sweet potato fries are out of this world and there is no other place that I have ever been on Long Island, NYC, upstate New York, Connecticut or Rhode Island that has dipping sauce at all or anything from remotely close. They look at you like you have two heads when you ask for sauce they just say ketchup or they'll say do you want honey mustard or ranch. It's bizarre I can't wait to make my trip home went to my first stop will be there I haven't been there in about 3 years. We did have a faculty Christmas party there one year in the back room it was a little tight buffet was good. And of course those warm rolls with the sweet butter love it! Don't really hang out too much at night with the drinking and the bands just too close for comfort and sloppy loud people with grabby hands. That's the only reason why I'm giving it 4

I used to LOVE this place. Unfortunately they have updated their menu to be a bit more "fancy" and killed any of the dishes I used to love. Such a shame. This used to be a great spot. No longer. The beers are still great but that's about it.

The past couple of times my husband and I have been here we have noticed that the food and the service is not what it used to be. We were here a little over a month ago. Seated immediately but it took FOREVER for our waitress to even acknowledge us. Just when we were about to walk out she came over and took our drink & app order. Beers were excellent as always. Nachos were good but nothing great. Since we only wanted a little something for dinner we each decided to give a couple of their new mac and cheese's a try. Well they completely SUCKED. It was more like macaroni and cheese soup. Very disappointing. So just last week we decide to come back for lunch and stick to what we know is good....the Brewben ! When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon we were the only ones in the dining room and were greeted by the same waitress who gave us poor service on our previous visit. We placed our orders immediately since we knew what we wanted, beers came right away & food arrived shortly after. When our Brewbens were placed in front of us they just looked sloppy, nothing like they did before. When I picked mine up to take the first bit my bread starting falling apart so I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. It clearly wasn't the same homemade bread from when we had that sandwich before. The corned beef was also a bit chewy, not like our previous visit where it just melted in your mouth. Neither of us finished our sandwiches and once again we were so disappointed with our beloved Brickhouse. At that point we were finished with our beers and just wanted to get the check and get the hell out of there but our waitress pulled a Houdini on us and disappeared. Mind you there were only 3 other tables that came in after us one of which were hers. My husband had to get up and hunt her down for the check which is total BS. I would almost give her a pass if it was crazy busy but she only had one other table besides us. Sad to say that we both agreed that we will not return to Brickhouse for a very long time & based on quite a few recent Yelp reviews a lot of other people won't be either.

Awesome beer great events and music. Awesome food. Love the pizza, love the wraps even the Mac and cheese but that brick house burger sucks besides that one of my fav places if it wasn't for that horrible tasteless burger I'd put 5 stars. Stick with the buffalo chicken wrap, that is great.

    (4)
  • Olivia M.

The Brickhouse has a great selection of beers on tap! My personal favorites were the uncle chugga and the rhapsody raspberry. We also got the brewmaster wings which were super delicious but a bit greasy. The bartender Ann Marie was super nice and had a great personality. The bar is huge and has plenty of seating. The rest of the menu looked good as well.

Loved this place! Tasty beers and really good food. I had the street light chicken sandwich, yum! The fruit salad side was surprisingly fresh as well. Live band was great! The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a beautiful brick wall and large bar. The 5th star was lost with the service. It was a busier night at the bar but a few of the bartenders were less than thrilled to be there. Definitely going back though.

My husband, son and I were looking forward to eating here yesterday. I bought a deal on Living Social, $20 for $40 worth of food and drinks. We've eaten here a couple years ago and food was great. Last night, no. Just no. Here is why: First sign should've been that we were the ONLY table seated in the dining room for dinner. For a Thursday, that's scary and I expressed that to my husband. We were seated in a dark corner, nowhere near the one TV they have in the dining room so we couldn't watch whatever they had on. Meals came out in a timely manner however this is what we thought of the food. I ordered the fish and chips. The batter was burnt and separating from the actual fish. The two pieces of fish pretty much fell apart and was difficult to eat. Quality of cod was not up to par. Tasted "fishy" and had a "stringy" texture to it. My coleslaw was DRY! It was seriously shredded cabbage and carrots. My French fries came out room temp, not hot, and just looked sad. Like they had been sitting under a lamp for an hour. I gave them to my husband since he eats pretty much anything. Hey at least the tartar sauce was pretty good. Both my husband and son got the bacon cheddar burger, med well. We assumed there would be a few burger choices on the menu being a beer place, burgers-beer, kind of go hand in hand. But nope. It was the only beef burger choice. So they were forced to choose this one. They both said their burgers were ok. Not bad, but not great. Edible. Yay. Fries were also cold and sad looking. The pickles were even soft and floppy! Seriously? You can't even have fresh crisp pickle spears? Geez. Can't mess up a Sprite and water but my husband ordered a sweetened iced tea and he had me try it to confirm how watered down it was. I'm not sure what it tasted like but it definitely did NOT taste like iced tea. Our drinks were NEVER refilled nor were we asked if we'd like them refilled. My son and I were so thirsty at the end of our meal but just wanted to leave and go home. Although our waiter, Jordan, checked on us once after he brought us our plates, we never saw him after that. We had to hunt him down for the check. When he came with the check we asked if they had different cooks and he said yes why is that a good or bad thing? I told him that we were not happy with the food. He pretty much just said oh well it's a different menu now and walked away. Ok then. Our empty plates were left on our table the whole time. No one ever cleared our plates, even when Jordan brought us our check and walked away, he left empty handed. Dry drink glasses and dirty dishes cluttered all over our table. Whatever. NEVER AGAIN!!! EVER! Thank God we used a Living Social deal but even the $35 we ultimately spent at Brickhouse last night was a waste. Smh. Get it together BH. You have some AMAZING restaurants in Patchogue now that are running laps around you. If you want to survive, you need to step your game up BIG TIME!

I wasn't impressed w/the food or the service. It wasn't very busy but the waitress was not attentive at all. I love burgers but the bacon cheeseburger here was just okay. It was cooked to order though. Had some of the nachos too & didn't care much for those either. The fries were super yummy though.

Our waitress was great! The pretzel/sponge bun was not. Bring the old menu back! I used to love everything about Brick House. They used to do pub food and entrees really well, but now it's a smaller, lackluster menu. French Dip where did you ggggo?!?!?!?!

The restaurant across the street was packed and we didn't feel like waiting. Luckily for us, this place wasn't too busy and looked plenty welcoming. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the food is great. The selection of draft beer is good, and I found the mocha porter delicious.

New Brewers = Better Beer! I've always loved the food here but felt the beer was lacking, it always seemed thin, had an off flavor or just seemed like something was missing. Now they have 2 new brewers and the beers have improved by tenfold, and they've gotten so much more creative! I highly recommend the direwolf ipa, and I'm not an ipa fan.

Stopped by for dinner and sat outside on the patio. Ordered Buffalo chicken wrap and Street Light chicken sandwich. Food came out in a timely manner and hot. I also enjoyed their Summer Beer but $7 for a pint seemed a bit much. Could have done without the two screaming kids running around all the tables, but that's not the restaurant's fault. However, finishing dinner and letting the drinks go empty is. Server never checked back for second round of drinks. We also had to get up and get our own silverware and napkins. Definitely needs improvement.

I come to BrickHouse a decent amount because it's the local favorite for people that aren't horrible (those folk head west on Main Street a bit).... I'm not a huge fan of their draft beer selection. Either it's a blonde ale, or it's a hoppy beer. Although, I do really like Nitro Boom Stout, a dark and creamy brew. Karaoke night always brings a lot of fun for myself and my friends who love to sing Billy Joel, Journey, and even, dare I say it... 50 cent. :) The live bands that play, like Funknasty and Breathing East are awesome. BrickHouse definitely gets great local favorites to come out. I always enjoy my time when I come here, and I'm very lucky it's so close to home. Everyone you meet has a good attitude, is looking to get hammered and make some new friends, and sing songs on stage. I've got lots of love for ya Brickhouse.

The food is now awful. And I mean awful. The beer is pretty gross too. I do however hang out here for music and the bartenders(especially Kim and Jay) are amazing. Great place to hang out but do yourself a favor and have dinner elsewhere

This place used to be a favorite winter spot for my wife and I...we loved the build your own burgers. We went last night and found out that they completely changed the menu. They no longer have a build your own burger instead just once choice...bacon cheddar. All those fun toppings gone...i think its kind of ridiculous that you can't get sautéed onions on a burger. They said they had to stream line their menu because they had too many choices. Now, I can understand taking pasta dished off your menu and some other things.....but you are a BAR!!!! Have some burger choices. You are telling me that you used to pre-cook sautéed mushrooms and onions then throw the un-used ones away at the end of the night. Why are you not cooking them fresh while my burger is cooking???? Plus...you change over to a pretzel roll??? They are awful!!! I will not be going back!!! The only reason I give 2 stars is that my wife liked the beer. The wings were awful too...way too over cooked!!!

Wow! had the special pork chop, came and looked like a steak! Served with sauteed onions, spinach and bacon and potatoe pancakes..total yum...my guy and I shared! Even brought the bone home for the dog! The staff here is sooo friendly and personable, we will continue to keep going back! And we are fussy..like to eat the bar....

My favorite place. Been going for a long time. I didn't always appreciate craft beer but that's changed over the years. It has a little bit of everything on the menu. Fan of the Beowulf and nitro boom stout. Good vibe from the crowd every time I've drank there too.

Brickhouse is a Patchogue foundation. Reasonable prices but also offers upscale seasonal dishes. Great variety of brews.

Decent food and decent beer. This certainly isn't world-class beer but it's in the top tier for Long Island. While I don't think that's really saying much, they do offer lot's of choices, a decent price on a flight, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. That being said, had I known about Hoptron Brewtique BEFORE coming here, I would have just went straight there. In the future I will likely skip this place, unless I'm coming in for some food.

my husband and I went there for dinner. waiter was really nice. we ordered nachos for an appetizer which were delicious!! we both ordered the gorgonzola steak, husband's was tough, mine was so tough I couldn't chew it. when we told the waiter, he asked if we had a dog! and that is what we did, we gave my steak to our golden retrievers who btw, loved it! no comps, no apologies,no free nothing for my dinner which consisted of cole slaw! great cole slaw though..

I totally dig this brewery, absolutely delicious brew called "anniversary"! Music was ehhhh bands kinda strange to be honest, I would've rather a d.j, but it got packed at 10 and it was a good time had by all. Check it out Yelpers!

5 thumbs up from a vegetarian stand-point. Lots of options. I like the idea of this place even though I don't drink. Theres a party room upstairs and they support local artists which is really cool. Into it.

Went to Brickhouse with my husband last night; overall, I was impressed. We began by ordering the Summer Buzz (me) and the Anniversary (him) - both very tasty! The Summer Buzz has a hint of honey to balance the hops, and indeed leaves one with a bit of a buzz. Anniversary is light (but not too light) and tasty. Hubs ordered his favorite meal of all time - plain burger and fries. One can get the burger marinated (in what, I forget) or seasoned with salt and pepper - or naked, as Hubs did. Cooked to order, meat was of a good quality. The thick-cut fries were sprinkled with some seasoning salt and fried to just the right doneness. I ordered a wrap - marinated steak, gorgonzola, onions, lettuce, tomato. It also comes with some Cajun mayo, which I had on the side. The thing was huge & a bit unwieldy, so I ended up deconstructing it. The steak was done to order and the ingredients melded well. My side - steamed broccoli - was tasty enough. I'm not sure we'd specifically schlep to Patchogue for it, but we'll certainly return if we're in the area.

I think my love affair with BrickHouse Brewery is on the back 9. Although I'll always love their beer, my most recent dining experience was sadly, sub-par. Aside from our waitress bringing me the Fish Tacos in lieu of my actual order, the Fish & Chips (maybe she thought I'd had enough fried food in my time?), my companion's meals also left much to be desired. I will stop in from time to time for a pint and some live music, but will likely pass on dinner next time. Small Tip: If it can be avoided, don't take a table up stairs, where you can't hear the live music being played downstairs and there's potentially a step class practicing in the room next door.

She's a Brick. . . well, you know. As a fan of Keegan Ales in Kingston, NY I wanted to meet the rest of the family. BrickHouse Brewery is the birthplace of "Hurricane Kitty" (a nickname given to his Grandmother for her unique driving style) and some other recipes the heir Tommy Keegan prepares up the river. BrickHouse was a good time! Service was a bit slow and spotty; but in all fairness the place was packed. Ordered the "Brewmaster Wings", dripping in garlic and parmesan, tasty stuff. "Hop Waffle" a high gravity Belgian style IPA was on tap during my visit and is definitely worth trying. A couple Blue Point beers were also on tap; a nice brewery comradery, Blue Point is less than a mile away. I arrived during Sunday Night football, many fans noisily enjoyed the game (NY wasn't even playing, this place must come undone if a local team is on!). Immediately after the game a live band began a set; don't recall their name, mellow "Jewel" styled vocalist played all original songs. The website has up to date listings of live bands and other events including movie nights. Don't go to BrickHouse if you are interested in a fine dining experience or want to hear each other's conversation. Do go if you enjoy unique high quality microbrews and some good pub grub.

I've heard for many years about how good the food is (I live in the next town) and i finally got to taste it at lunchtime. The staff was excellent; very friendly, my lunch was excellent along with my wife's dish. The beer on tap was delicious, although I knew this becaues this used to be my watering hole years ago. Even the atmosphere was warm, with a choice to dine outside. I srongly recommend it to anyone for drinks, good food & good times. Haven't hung out there late night...someone post up and let me know.

I had been wanting to try the BrickHouse for a while, and I finally made the drive out to Patchogue last Saturday. Maybe I had too high of hopes. I left feeling a little disappointed. Food: the menu options were endless, but there was nothing that stood out as original or interesting. I went with fish and chips. They were okay. Nothing special. Boyfriend had a bacon cheeseburger which was good but just a standard cheeseburger. Beer: the best thing about the BrickHouse is their beer, which was the reason I came in the first place. The IPA was decent, the Anarchy Ale was much better. The Stout was a little watery for my taste. Overall, the BrickHouse seems like a good place to grab a beer with friends. My advice: eat before you come and concentrate on the beer.

There are much better choices on this street in Patchogue. Second time i dined here. Both occasions with a group of four for lunch on the outside patio. Sandwiches and salads were dissapointing. I would rate the quality of the food as, just something to eat. No quality at all.

Fun bar. Decent bar food (menu pretty extensive I'd say). I believe it was "Country" night when I went yesterday (a Tuesday night). The band up front was playing all country music.

Great service and amazing bar food. The beers they brew are all on point. From stout to a golden light brew you can't go wrong. Wings are a must here. Pair them with the brew and a football game it's heaven on earth

So, since I went here last night and had an awesome time, I decided to boost the rating. I saw an awesome band, Funknasty, danced like crazy and the bartenders were attentive despite how busy it was. I stayed here all night with no desire to go anywhere else.

Sometimes I love Brickhouse. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes the waitstaff is attentive, sometimes they strand you in the back dining room without water and you have to ask three times for your check. The food is as inconsistent as the staff, but I forgive that because it is still better than most bar food and the menu is extensive, so it is easy to find something you like. The atmosphere is dim but lively due to a fun loving mixed age crowd. The beer, brewed in house is always consistent with a menu that rotates slightly depending on the season. I'm a fan of the Streetlight, a crisp blond ale whose flavor stays consistent even as the beer warms. They also have karaoke and an open mic.

mmmm mmm mm. Thats what I gotta say about their marinated burger. I came here for lunch with a friend and overheard someone ordering a marinated burger. And since I never heard of one before I decided to jump on the bandwagon. You should do the same, it was such a different taste compared to every burger that I've ever had. seriously Aside from that, I had myself a glass of Oktoberfest and also tried the sampler. The beer there is pretty good and has tons of good taste to it. I'd definitely would want to come back out there one day, but its a bit far for me (I live in Queens) so I'd just have to wait a little while.

The Blue Fries 1. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. They were the perfect size, and they were crunchy with just enough potato to be more than crisps. 2. The Blue Cheese covering was plentiful without being over powering. It was a truly plentiful and flavorful covering, but for blue cheese it was amazingly easy to eat.. 3. The balsamic dressing complimented the blue cheese flavor perfectly, although I thought it was light. Perhaps a small bowl on the side for dipping would help. 4. The steak fajita was really just a nice piece of steak cut into a few thick juicy pieces server with just cooked enough peppers and onions. The IPA beer might have been good, but I forgot about it while I stuffed my face with some of the tastiest food I've had in a long time. Go here, try it.

Great place to grab dinner and a pint. It kinda reminded me of John Harvards ( yelp.com/biz/john-harvar… ) with the addition of live music and better food! Their Nitro Boom Stout is definitely my kind of beer. Yum. They also do Beer Pairing Dinners once a month (I believe.) --I gotta remember to check that out.

I love this place. It's one of my go-to spots in Patchogue, even amidst the many new restaurants opening there lately. Food is reliably good, great menu, good beer. We've always been really pleased with our servers, as well. The hostesses are generally pretty consistently rude but once you get past them, the experience is great. Highly recommend!

Brickhouse is one of my favorite places on Long Island. It's one of the staples in Patchogue. The food isn't the greatest, but I'm a fan of the sandwiches. The beer selection is good...I'm a big beer person and I've never had a beer I didn't like at the Brick. All in all, Brickhouse is a great place to have a laugh with your friends and have a beer. Or two.

Very clean and spacious. Ann Marie and her husband Jim were so polite and friendly. A much different variety of beer on tap than most places. Steak sandwich and potato fries with the smoked guda Mac n cheese were amazing.

As an artist, Brick house is a staple long island art venue to show in. They have a fabulous private catering room upstairs, where they hold all different exhibitions featuring local artists. The music scene around Brick house is also great! They feature live music Thu, Fri and Sat I believe. The beer- awesome! Hurricane Kitti is my personal fav. It's also a nice place to have dinner with your family. This lace does it all and brings in all different crowds. Whoever you are, you will be happy you came!

Located in the cute little town of Patchogue, Brickhouse Brewery will provide you with an evening of good times. There is an awesome selection of beer, a casual atmosphere, and live music that will do its job at keeping you either mildly entertained or dreadfully bored. The food here is typical bar fare, nothing out of the ordinary or memorable. The place is a combination of a frat house and a seaside bar. I've never been on a tropical island or Cancun or anything like that, but this is the type of place I imagine you would find there. Maybe it was just the bad reggae band that was playing that night. I also thought it what strange that they wouldn't seat us until our entire party arrived. There were probably six or seven tables that sat unused for the duration of our meal. No big deal. We still had a pretty good time at the Brickhouse. Maybe we'll even go back.

  • Jennifer G.

Beer: great selection, something for everybody. The pumpkin ale is top notch. Stay away from the smoke beer, tastes like you are drinking a wet pile of burned wood. Food: good pub style food, you cant go wrong with a burger or sandwich. Sweet potato fries and dipping sauce are really good. Live music: Usually pretty awful and sounds like the bands need major rehearsing. Overall, good place for a quick bite and a couple of beers

We were having a great time until the terrible manager (jenn) ruined our time by scolding us like children. We called in advance to find out if they could accommodate a bachelorette party, to which they responded "bring it on". It was the first and only time they had to say anything to us so she didnt need to be so rude while we were already repeatedly telling her we were completely agreeing with her. The only thing that saved the night was how unbelieveably awesome our waiter adam was, who also unfortunately got bitched at by that terrible woman. If jenn is in customer service she should learn how to deal with customers. She should take a lesson from adam, whom we loved

Wow..... Does this place get any more boring. The food is really boring considering what this place could really be. I have been here 3 times over the last year and I think this will be the last time. The bar crowd is OK but the restaurant service is fair at best. We were seated and waited almost 15 minutes for the waitress to come over. We ordered drinks and it took another 10 minutes (OK maybe 12 minutes) to get them. This was the point where we find out that they were out of one of the beers we ordered. In some fairness they were pretty busy but it took us almost 90 minutes to eat and drink. My time is very limited for going out. I think I will just stick to Bobbique or the Tap Room next time. They also seem to be a happier bunch!

What keeps me coming back is the beer selection. Brickhouse is great for a quick bite and a good beer. The traditional bar food is consistently good, but lacks imagination. The few times I came here for a sit down dinner and ordered something other than traditional pub fare, I was not impressed. Beware - if you are looking for an intimate, cozy setting after a movie or a show, this place may not be for you. Later at night, it gets crowded and loud. Particularly on nights when they have live music.

There seems to strong feeling that BrickHouse Brewery is the "ugly half-brother" of John Harvard's. But I believe that at the moment the beer being put out at BrickHouse is better than that of John Harvard's. The standards (Hurricane Kitty, Nitro Boom Stout, Nut Brown Ale) are solid beers for a quick pint after work, and the speciality brews (Beowulf, Mother Chugga, Chaos) on a recent visit, were top notch, especially Mother Chugga. As far as the food goes, it's standard bar food plus upscale entrees. It's not a place I would go out of my way to go to for dinner, but for a beer or three, it's well worth popping in periodically to see what sort of new things they're brewing. The chili was better than I expected it to be, with a nice little kick of heat (not hot) and my hamburger was cooked properly. I don't know if I would ever try the ~$20 entrees, but they make a good burger. And you can get sweet potato fries. If you don't want to sit in the bar area (because the game is on, or it's just too loud) there is a secluded dining area behind the bar, which does a pretty good job of maintaining an environment where you can carry on a conversation. They regularly have open mic nights and local musical acts perform later on the in the evening and have movie nights throughout the year. If you're out visiting Blue Point, or just walking down Main St. in Patchogue, definitely stop in and check it out for yourself.

1st stop on Patchogue Halloween Spook-o-Rama Pub Crawl. Nice sized bar area with plenty of different types of beers on tap. They have the brewing equipment up front though I'm not sure just how often it is in use. I thought that for the past few years Blue Point Brewery has been doing the brewing for Brickhouse some of which might be done on site. I've never really paid that much attention to what type of brewing activities are going on when I frequent the place. The crowd is usually pretty friendly. In my experience the service at the bar and at the tables has been good. Place gets loaded up with the younger set later in the evenings. Live music at those times is unbearably loud. If you like that scene have at it. It ain't for me. I've had the food here on numerous occasions. Food is consistent each time I've been there. It's essentially bar food with some flair thrown in on certain dishes. The food is good but nothing you'll write home about. They have meeting spaces upstairs. Upstairs front is larger than the rear area. The space in the upstairs rear has its own bar and accommodates probably up to 40 - 50 people. Food offered there is good, just like downstairs, but once again nothing that you'll write home about.

This is the place- you know THE place to go! Eclectic crowd, great music ALWAYS, good micro brew and some good eats!! I am NEVER disappointed at Brickhouse! You need to open one is Smithtown too, PLEASE! But seriously, the food is high quality pub fare, with excellent brick oven pizzas too! Beers are good, their Summer Ale is my favorite, Hurricane Kitty is my second favorite! This is the kinda place you go to happy hour and wind up staying until 2 am.

Not on my list of places to go back to. I have been to BrickHouse a few times, each time it's been disappointing. The food is only good if you've been drinking all day I imagine, and on more than one occasion the place smelled like dirty diapers. If you are in the mood to drink lots of beer and hang out at the bar this might do.

I want to give them a 4 - the food is good but I think a little pricey for this type of place. Much better option than Canz on 112....that place is even more $$$ for the same food.

I was there on Saturday night to a packed house. The band, Fishdoctor, sounded great but the bar service was deplorable. I was overcharged at the bar and by the time I waved the bartender down (which took about 15 minutes) and explained what happened, the bartender practically threw the money in my direction accompanied by an expletive directed at me. I took the money and returned to my friends only to be greeted by the same bartender 10 minutes later who tried to say why the figure the bar had was correct and when we did the math and I proved I was overcharged, the bartender abruptly walked away as soon as she came without an apology. Apparently at this bar, the customer is never right. Maybe the food here is good, but the service isn't. If I do ever try going back, I would try a weeknight or maybe weekday because the bar is ill-equipped to handle a large weekend crowd.

Great for beers and appetizers, for a full meal, not so much. Beer battered onion rings, shrimp, and wings: Excellent. Main Course: I had the ribs...pretty terrible. Mostly fat and bone, what little meat there was was a struggle to get off. Now, my biggest problem. For a brewery, on a Saturday to be "out of" two of their house brews is a little ridiculous to me. Especially to be out of their seasonal summer brew. Plus, the beers that they did have paled in comparison to the Blue Point beers they had on tap.

  • Franco C.

I hit this place up for lunch and it was very good. They have a decent selection of beers brewed on premises. I tried a few of them and they all were good. There is a fairly large bar area - tables are along one wall and there are plenty of bar stools available. There is a larger room towards the rear that is used as the main dining room. The food selection was basic pub stuff and then some. We stuck with the usual bar menu - wings etc and all was surprisingly good - of course after a few of those yummy beers, all seemed right in the world. Big parking lot behind the place and some big bathrooms - the better to leave all that beer before you head out.

There's a nice Hans Gabali on the western wall of the Brick House back room. Just making note and adding it to my list ( yelp.com/list/hans-gabal… ). Maybe at some point, someone can post a pic so we have it for the ages.

Great beers and that is what to go seeking. It is a brewery after all. Burgers, homemade batter-dipped onion rings, great. They took away my favorite salad, a buffalo chicken based treat. Stick to simple, pub items. Steer away from pizza. Steak and other entrees looked exceptional. Next time!

Went here on a Saturday afternoon and loved it! Nestled on a cute street in Patchogue, we walked right in and got seated immediately. We both ordered the six beer sampler along with our meals. I enjoyed trying out each of the beers - now I know what to get next time I come here. The food was decent - typical bar/pub/casual restaurant fare, but the waffle fries made me happy enough, that I didn't complain. Our waitress was really nice, too - didn't ask us over and over if we were OK, and wasn't pushy to get us to leave (although the dining area was pretty empty!) I would definitely come back here again!

I love this place. It's not terribly big, but is a nice comfortable size. They have a lot of their own brews, of the ones I have tried I have found them all to be good, and they change regularly. They also give you nice samples if you aren't sure what to order. I have found all the bartenders to be nice, attentive, and personable. They also have other beers too (not just their own). My boyfriend loves their brewmaster wings more than their regular ones. I don't eat much meat, and I love that Brickhouse has so many options for me (not just salad, but at least 4 different menu items, which is rare). BHB also has specials during the week, like a buffet on fridays, 5$ plates, wing nights, etc. I love the atmosphere, less large and more personable than John Harvards, and I prefer BHB's beer better.

  • Adam G.

Their food was typical pub grub which is deserving of at least 3 stars. The reason why i was pissed was THEY LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. Selling 2 local craft beers from upstate ny (hurricane kitty and mothers milk BY KEEGAN ALES!) as their own! When you do that you're not just stealing an idea, but also shooting the workers that made your product by not helping them introduce a fan base. Don't GO HERE. THEY DONT MAKE THEIR OWN BEER, AND LIE TO COVER IT UP.

When I need to meet someone in the Patchogue area, my first go-to-place is the Brickhouse, which I refer to as The Patchogue Office. They always have some great beers brewing, though I confess that my first choice is usually the strongest one on tap. Food is great. the wings, chile, burgers, soups, nachos, and fish and chips never disappoint. But what makes the Brickhouse outstanding is the friendly attentive staff that aways make you feel welcome. If you become a regular I highly recommend you consider becoming a member of the Mug Club.

We enjoyed a variety of tasty brews AND were invited by the excellent serving staff to taste samples of everything, it seemed. I really liked the Hurricane Kitty. We ordered the sausage appetizer which complemented the beer well; sauerkraut was awesome and the honey mustard was perfect. The place had a good vibe.

I've been to the Brickhouse Brewery countless times. I love the place, I truly do. The food is good (kind of pricey, but not terrible), the beer is good (especially their own) and everyone I know goes there. There is USUALLY a good band on the weekends, and the bartenders are generally very courteous and nice. I do have a few issues, though: *Cover Fees on band nights - I understand that they are going to pay the band and they want to increase revenue, but I hate this. As a patron of many years, I'm sick of it. The other night I paid $15 for myself, my sister and my girlfriend. Keep in mind, Brickhouse - most people don't carry cash anymore! It's safer to carry a debit card, especially with all of the drunks around, you never know if you're gonna get mugged or something. It's a slap in the face, and many times the $5 isn't even worth it. For the business I've given them and brought them, as well as helping them (I've helped break up a few fights there), the $5 just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. *It gets PACKED. Honestly, the second thing I hate the most about Brickhouse is how packed it gets. You're like a sardine in there from time, and I truly believe it has to be a fire hazard of some sort. You cannot really get to the bathroom - it's like going through a maze. To make matters even worse, the bathrooms are in the front! So now you've gotta make your way from the back of the bar (Most people get the "good" spots early on) and push through people to get to the bathroom. To make it even WORSE, the stage is in the front, so that's where many people congregate and listen to the music. One night they had "Uncle Magic" (*vomit*) and the front was so packed I thought I was going to break a rib because so many people packed in the front, and others, rightfully so, wanted to either get to the front door or the bathroom. God forbid there is ever a fire it would be incredibly dangerous to get out. That, and when people get aggressive + intoxicated, it makes for a mess when a fight breaks out. *Lack of Buybacks - I used to get buybacks from the bartenders, but not really anymore. The other night I bought two beers and three mixed drinks without a single buy back. The funny thing is we went down to another restaurant/bar and I got three drinks, one of which was free right off of the bat - and I had never been there before! If you want a solid customer base, especially when there are tons of other bars in the area, you should at least do buybacks from time to time. *Pumpkin Spice was out when I went there last weekend! :( That's all. When the Brickhouse has little-to-medium amount of people in it, it's a great time. We have a blast just talking and drinking. The Mug Club is awesome too. If you drink enough beer, it's worth the investment. The food, like I said, is great. You HAVE to try their sweet potatoes fries and maple-mayo sauce. So good... My mouth is actually watering right now thinking about it. The Pumpkin Ale (When it is available...) is awesome. One of the best I've ever had. The burgers are good, the appetizers are good... Everything I've had is good. It's more or less their business strategy that can turn people off - the covers, the lack of buybacks, etc. That, and their stage placement and packing people in. If anything, they should open up the "Garden" and the dining room for people to drink when the kitchen is closed so people can actually breath.

I had the summer ale and that was good. The service was under par, I got sweet potato fries and they came out soggy. The Greek salad was a normal Greek salad nothing special nor something I will order again.

Good place to go with a group of friends. The beers are all made in house and they taste good, although I was disappointed that they didn't have a wheat style beer and the blueberry beer I would pass on, tastes like welchs grape soda. They do have a menu although I didn't try the food. They had several live bands performing tonight which added a great feel to the place. I will come back to the BrickHouse!

Great in-house beers that change a bit each time. Pretty packed during the week so that's nice to see humans on weeknights. A buddy always plays open mics and everyone is pretty well-received even early in the night; karaoke seems fun too.

This place isn't bad, but I'm not a big fan. It's menu is extensive and priced moderately, so it's good to go there if you've got some high maintenance people with you. Their beer is good, food is ok, service is ok. If you're looking for a better bar and way better food, do yourself a favor: ditch your friends, cross the street, find Pera-Bell Food Bar and make better friends. Much better on all accounts, but more expensive.

I really like this place. I love the beer and the atmosphere is very calm. The food is pretty good but not the greatest place to bring kids even though I resist that often. I go back as often as I can.

  • Matt S.

went back.... against my will.... guess what? it wasn't so bad this time. Maybe because I tried my best to avoid the food. The beer was pretty darn tasty this time. It seems like the boys running the brewery portion of this establishment, have got their collective act together. I loved all the stout's that they offered. There was some happy hr food available, but there was no way you could get me to eat it. The food looked like it was sitting in those steam trays since friday happy hr the week before.... mussels? seriously? My buddies ordered up some burgers, and they said they were pretty good. I never heard of a marinated burger before... something very suspicious about it. I ordered up some nachos, figuring that if I was gonna go down, it's better to go down in flames than with a whimper.... no suprise that I was a frequent visitor to the bathroom the next day. I may have been responsible for taking down a small portion of the rainforest, with the amount of toilet paper that was used that day.... my bad. global warming isn't so bad in the winter...

Sometimes great, sometimes not so much. The sweet potato fries are awesome. The chicken sandwiches usually end up too dry. Nice selection of beer. Bartenders are good. Atmosphere used to be awesome, haven't been in awhile so not sure if it stayed the same. Karaoke and open mic nights are fun.

This review is for the bar area only. I have not eaten in the restaurant. I went here a while ago and not much seems to have changed when I went back recently. I ate at the bar and had the dryest chicken sandwich of my life. The bar was VERY crowded I think considering the strong following they have for their wide selection of beers and the crowd was very mixed. Alot of older people swooning over old school live rock music and younger regulars there for the beer. Very very loud and packed, not too clean in the bar section. Charges a cover on the weekend nights, overall a very very popular place for regular beer drinkers from this area but for someone just looking to eat a quick decent meal I wouldn't recommend. I usually take offense to the conduct of the people at this bar.

Had drinks I the bat area. Theresa was our bartender and she makes you feel like family. My husband and I loved it.

4 stars for the steller brews, the bartenders and the above-average bar food... 2 stars for the fact that they have a huge projection TV that was out for last nights Home Run Derby... 4+2=6 6/2=3 stars...too bad...I like this place too.

The pub grub is excellent! We had the very tasty chili, a tremendous Reuben with applewood sauerkraut and sweet potato fries, excellent clams, nachos, and turkey breast sandwich. We also drank a pint of each of their beers, which we found very good.
