We always go when it's not busy. Food is mostly average, service is always great. It's what anyone would expect from a local bar. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes a miss. Kick back and enjoy it

Nicky's is like a good friend that you can always depend on. Living in the area for years we've been going to Nicky's since I was a kid. Although it's different owner now, they have always kept up the consistency of good food, good service and reasonable prices. The bartenders are always friendly and and the atmosphere is always warm. Although I can't ever recall having a bad meal here, the mainstays are what they are known for and are consistently good.....burgers, pasta, sandwiches and finger foods with excellent portions. High marks for the wings as they are the best in the area. We always order takeout wings from Nicky's on football Sundays as they blow away Buffalo Grill in Greenlawn. Larger, meatier and never dry. Although steaks are not steakhouse caliper, they are tasty and always cooked the way you like. Overall you can't go wrong with Nicky's.

it's a bar. stick with bar food and you'll be good. i had a pasta dish and it was okay but not something i would order again.... my favorite part of the meal was my appetizer... a generous portion of delicious buffalo wings!!! i am looking forward to going back and trying a burger or maybe just sticking with appetizers at the bar. i have to say the staff was really friendly and professional. all our food came out nice and hot. timing of courses was excellent. and... the bathroom was very clean!

I am a little surprised at the reviews here and am personally disappointed with Nicky's the last maybe 5 years. First i would like to say that I used to frequent this place very often, in the late 90's and through much of the 2000's. The food was basic, consistently good and it had a friendly local and unpretentious atmosphere that just felt right. In terms of a friendly local atmosphere I think it is still there for the most part. In terms of the food, well it's quality and consistency has been in continual decline. Small house made things like the good o'l bloomin onion were removed from the menu, their mozzarella sticks that were large, house made in canola oil are no longer large and not consistently well prepared. Other dishes have simply lost their edge of quality that made me keep coming back. Their burger is not as good as it was and dinners are very inconsistent. Maybe i am going at different times as my life has changed or maybe things just change but though i like the people there I usually leave there wanting...

Went to this restaurant off of a recommendation on a Saturday night with all 3 kids once again. It definitely has a local feel to it as you walk in the door...similar to a scene from Cheers. I wasn't sure what to expect, but had an open mind and 5 hungry bellies. We were seated at a large table in the center of the dining room. The staff was quick to attend to our needs to order drinks and the children's food first and fast. The appetizers were plentiful, but I felt the dinner portions were small. The stuffed mushrooms were very flavorful and juicy. The shrimp scampi had a twist on it with diced tomatoes. Dessert was not on our schedule for this evening. The environment was very relaxed and family oriented with the sporting events visible from any angle of the table. A great place to take the family. If we are in the area again, we will stop in!

Pretty consistent restaurant. The food is pretty good, as far as bar food goes. I've never been disappointed with my meal, but the service is hit or miss, mostly miss. They are nice, but you will find yourself waiting and waiting. It's a local place so it's frustrating when you get overlooked for people who clearly know the servers. If you can look past that, you should enjoy your food.

Locals have raved about Nicky's since the 1970's from my recall, it is just north of Route 25A in Centerport in a tiny shopping center, with mediocre parking. I went inside and there was no decor, no mood and I ordered a beverage with my chicken wings and although they were enjoyable, I would not be raving about them for 40 years.

Dined here a few nights ago and overall experience was just eh. Kitchen stays open until midnight which is a huge plus because other than fast food there isn't much opened past ten on week nights. The place is deceiving, looks dinky from the outside but theres a decent size bar in the front with a dining area in the back. The place is out of date and is in serious need of a remodeling but who cares, it's Centerport. Tap beer selection is pretty minimal and they have your standard domestic and imported bottled beer selection. The best part of the meal was the HUGE loaf of bread that was brought out before the food came. It was enormous and warm and everything bread should be. Food took forever to come out, about a half hour and there was only one other table in the place. Our dinners weren't good. Overly salted and just very very blah. Raspberry Vinaigrette smelled and tasted like nail polish remover. It was just bad. Would come back for drinks, but wouldn't have the food again.

I enjoy going out to eat, I enjoy finding local gems even more; Nicky's is not a local gem. Got the "crab cakes" - they were obviously frozen generic garbage and way over priced. Boyfriend got the seafood combo - also seemed mostly frozen. To top it off the beer tasted like they really needed to clean the tap. French fries were best part of the meal.

Update... Had taken out a burger recently that was much better then recent previous take out. Not sure if chef related or what but hoping it will continue to be on the up and up.

Not a fan of this place at all. Some if the food is good while most of it is just mediocre. For what it is I feel it is overpriced, you're basically ordering glorified bar food.

Could eat at this local place every night of the year. Menu has tons of variety, and everything is delicious. Keep up the great work.

Fantastic wings... very meaty and not breaded. The "Hot" weren't very hot, but I guess that is subjective. Kid friendly dining room with great menu options.

New to Huntington and stumbled upon Nicky's by accident. It was about 15 minutes before the Jets game started and the hubby and I were hungry, so we figured, "why not?" The bar was full, but right past the bar, into the restaurant, there wasn't anyone else, so we went ahead and took a table in the dining room. It didn't matter if we were at the bar or in the dining room because there were TV's everywhere. Decided to get some chicken wings to share and a bottle of beer before lunch. For $6, I thought we might get 6 wings or so....Out comes a platter with over 20 wings on it! And the beer, oh the beer....the coldest beer I have had at a bar!!! The wings were good and the cold beer made it perfect! Since there were so many wings, we decided to just share a burger for lunch. Another $6...didn't think this kind of deal existed on Long Island! But sure enough a big juicy burger with onion rings came to me! So, here's the best part.... 2 ICE COLD BEERS, 2 Bacardi and Cokes, a juicy burger, onion rings and a mammoth amount of chicken wings came to the whopping total of $37!!! Now that's how to spend a Sunday afternoon!!!

Nicky's has one of the best burgers on Long Island. And the wings are plentiful and tasty. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating. I am so glad I live close!

I love Nicky's. It's what Centerport is all about. Great bar and grill food. They have the best buffalo wings I have every had.

Pleasantly surprised with food, service and prices. Hadn't been there in a few years and was very pleased with the whole experience. We were a table of 6 adults, 2 children, food was served hot, fresh and service was great! We had lobster, steak, chicken, pasta and burgers and they even allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake!

I guess I don't know what Centerport is all about. Read The reviews, tried it, won't be going back. Not bad, but not great. A lot of fried entrees in a casual lobster poundesque setting. Good with friends and maybe after a day on your boat, but compared to the many great eateries the area has to offer, they don't earn the 4 1/2 stars they have today. More of a bar where you can eat than a place you'd go For a meal.

Good local place that you'd miss unless you're really looking for it. Try the bolognese. Garlic bread = delish.

My family eats at Nicky's once a week and we love it. The waitstaff is friendly and welcoming and quick with drinks & appetizers. The owners are usually around a few days of the week to ensure things run smoothly. The staff is also accommodating if you want things separated or want a particular item left off because of allergies or other dietary concerns. The food is really good and consistent. If you order something and like it I can guarantee it will be just as good every other time you order it. We are big fans of their wings. They fry them so they are crunchy instead of slimy & soggy like you get at some restaurants. I also really like their chicken francese and their eggplant rollatini. My mother & daughter love the lobster dinner and the shrimp scampi. If you want a nice wholesome family meal this is definitely a nice place to go. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is cozy. If you want a bar to watch the game in this also fits the bill. I know from the signage that they have the NFL package. They also have a decent selection of beer to choose from and the bartenders make good mixed drinks. Their are two negatives: one is that the parking lot is small. If they are really busy or moderately busy and the pizza place or gym next door is also busy parking can become a problem, but don't be fooled if the front lot is full as there is a small lot behind the building. If all else fails park at the old church by the fire house. The other negative is that there is absolutely no cell reception. Nicky's is one of several dead zones in the Centerport area. I happen to like this aspect because it means no one can interrupt our dinner but if you are someone who can't live without updating their instagram you might want to considering eating somewhere else.

Super Strong 4, perhaps the strongest ever.....Hell Yeah, a classic and a local legend. Right off the bat lets discuss the wings. For my money they are hands down the best on the Island, better than any I have had in Buffalo for that matter, no gimmicks just simple perfection..perfectly crisp while absorbing the sauce magnificently. 5 stars isn't enough for them. On top of that they are some of the cheapest to be found anywhere, at lunchtime 15 of these can be had for an astounding 6 bucks and change!!!!! Excellent burgers, fully commendable, fries, calamari &baked clams, and of course those awesome lobster deals (even if they aren't so much of a bargain at the moment considering the insanely low price of lobster right now, which hasn't impacted their prices here as far as I can tell). They do great things with Sole here, and its local as well, but they've been doing it forever, before the concept of locavorism was anywhere near existing. The atmosphere is likewise fantastic, in the most no frills, local favorite in the way possible. Much respect to the man who wrote that this is what Centerport is all about, and all of Centerport should salute him for the complement. The place feels like home, feels like a small town in the best possible ways. The servers have been there forever, and know all the locals by name. In the daytime you are sure to find some cool old men at the bar, many of them working guys but some rich guys who are nonetheless cool. Many local families cherish this place and its blatantly obvious why. Ok Ok so why not a full five stars, or a least one of my patented strategic 4 1/2 that registers as 5 in the Yelpishpere? Well sadly its because straight up duds are not unheard of on here. While the deep frier skills here are no less than genius overall, the fried clams, to put it lightly, are quite lame, straight up strips, no bellys, that seem to be no better than something from a bag you could pick up at Costco. I also was underwhelmed by the chicken Marsala and Francese that I have tried. The Crab cake sandwich on special most recently was ok at best and unquestionably weird. Also there is the issue of the beer selection... While it often times features at least a good Bluepoint option or something similar, and local on tap to supplement the very outdated Bud/Amstel/Stella/Blue Moon selection, all to often it does not. Things aren't much better where the bottle selection is concerned. I know this place is Old School and I respect that a lot, but lets make an exception in this department. Nevertheless the place is a Classic & you need to go there and certainly need to GET THOSE WINGS. If I was judging this place solely on the basis of Long Island places I would surely give it a full 5 stars, but of course that is not how I roll.

Great Centerport spot to grab a late night meal or to catch a game. Burgers are done really nicely, homely bar/pub style menu and decor. Dining room gets crowded with families and regulars, overall a good spot to grab a good meal.

Steak tid-bits are big enough to share for two! Wine is a bit over-priced ($10 for a sauvignon blanc? really, at Nicky's?)

Delicious seafood! Great combos. Onion rings -best! Lobsters-impressive. Nice service. And very convinient location for Vanderbilt Mansion visitors. A spirit of old Long Island neighbourhood.

Been going here for over 20 years plus . Love this place. Great burgers, fries, chicken marsala, Chicken ceasar wrap...ok ok I love it all. The lunch is much less expensive than dinner here, so that is usally when we go (tight budget these days) French Onion soup is mighty tasty too. This place is comfy, cozy, regulars type place. The only thing I don't like here is the baked potatos.

Agreed on the wings-- an absolute MUST when you go to Nicky's! I live right down the street from here so it's one of my usual go-to places if I can find parking. The parking situation down there is really terrible, but it's a great hangout spot!
