I gotta disagree with Chris on this one. Pizza Italian is exactly what the LES needs right now. There are a lot of Pizza places in New York, but that's because there are a lot of people in New York. Just like how every café is different, or ever bar, every pizza joint attracts a different group of people, based on what it has that others don't. The first thing that sets Pizza Italian apart is its large pie. It's a no-nonsense pizza, and perfectly priced at $12. I'm not so much of a toppings guy. A little oregano, maybe some parmesan(which they keep in a fridge near the register so it stays fresh), and I'm good. I've gotten the same order, a large cheese pizza, from dozens of places, and Pizza Italian's is definitely the most reasonable, while still being totally awesome pizza. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and the place is well run. It's been open for more than a couple of months, and they've lowered the price of a cheese slice to $2. They're selection of sodas is excellent, and it's a cool choice for a small party or a post-sports lunch.

3.5 stars "You know what we need around here?" asked one member of the LES' Community Board 3. "Another pizza joint?" The other answered. "Exactly!" At least that's how I imagine the conversation went... So yes, yet another pizza spot has opened in the Lower East Side. However, this place is also an "Italian Restaurant", at least so they and their menu claim. They have breakfast options, appetizers, calzones, pasta dishes as well as wrap sandwiches, and even quesadillas?!? But with enough cramped-seating for perhaps 10, It seems more like a pizza joint than anything else, if you ask me. Their slices are HUGE, I'll give them that. With the plain starting at $2.25, Sicilian or Pepperoni slices at $3, then gradually working their way up- you at least get your money's worth. Especially with my go to Hakki Champion Pizza now charging $2 for their plain slice everyday after 10 pm, it may be worth the trek over here. Unfortunately, the best thing about their slice is it's size; there was nothing flavor-wise that stood out for me. The crust was thin, and there was both ample sauce and cheese, but I got most of my savory enjoyment from the oregano and pepper-flakes I generously sprinkled upon my slice. For the time being they're offering a 10% discount (with flyer at their location) and 2 slices + a soda, for $5. I'll give them another shot, and perhaps try a pasta dish or even a quesadilla, but I'd be hard-pressed (or hand-tossed) to make this my go-to slice spot in the LES (at least before 10 pm).

If you want food poisoning and diarrhea then this is the place to go... I ordered chicken Alfredo and a slice of cake ... One bite and noticed the chicken was raw totally pink rubber , raw eggs in the Alfredo sauce , overcooked pasta. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! so I threw it out and took a bite of the cake ........ The cake was worse it was so old it stuck to the fork. Long story short I spent the better part of a night vomiting it back up , diarrhea and stomach cramps . NEVER AGAIN !!! Not worth my health

I got the pasta carbonara and my sister got the lasagna, and we were both satisfied! The pasta was fresh and delicious, and the garlic knots that came with it were good. We ordered delivery, and the food was fresh when it got here. Moreover, the prices were great!

Picked up a slice with barbecue chicken today to go and I was not impressed. The slice was hard and overall just tasted funny. I will try this place one more time because it was late and I hate judging a place on how bad they were the first time around. The positives were that they are open late and the guy working behind the counter was really nice but for being in a neighborhood that has great pizza places nearby, this place has to do MUCH BETTER to compete.
