Typical bar food. I think our waitress forgot to hand in our order since it took an hour to get our food. Not well staffed since she was running everywhere and we ended up going to the bar to cash out. I would probably try a different place next time.

I love Captain Jacks - I have been there a number of times for various reasons, a lot of times to see a band, but not always. The food is normally great, you can be inside, sit outside on the dock, or go upstairs to the bar there. The upstairs has a covered bar, then an open deck to sit on, and also has a pavilion where the bands play with an open area to do some dancing. The drinks are always very good, service is quick (considering it is usually packed, especially on nice summer nights). The people watching is exquisite because you get people from all different walks of life.

Love the location! On the water, live music, outdoor tiki bar. This place has a cool theme in side pirates and a mermaid on the ceiling?! Love it! They have a killer craft beer selection and yeah domestic as well. And the food? Well we had chicken wings to start, crispy and sauced up! It kills me how some places "skimp" on the sauce! Not here! Good wings! The Philly was great, fresh hoagie roll and the taste is spot on! No condiments required to eat one here. If there was one flaw the service seemed out of sync but hey everything else here makes up for it. I'm a fan I'll be back! This place reminds me of some of my Florida favorites!

Don't know what happened yesterday because I've been here many times and never an issue but this time, wow! Our group had called well ahead, about 20 people and was told no problem. Sunday afternoon, nice day, busy in Sodus Point but always a great destination in the summer. This occasion ended up being like a comedy of errors! First off, they were WAY short of help! We had only 2 waitresses with the main share being dumped on 1 so you can imagine how slow the service was. Drinks were ordered, several were bloody marys that came out w/o olives. Why? Oh, we're out of olives. Really, at 1 PM? A common craft beer is ordered, one that they always have but apparently not today, but somehow a pitcher of it arrives an hour later. Parmesan cheese is asked for, for a sandwich but nope, we don't have that. This is a restaurant and you don't have Parmesan cheese? An order of seafood bisque comes out, not luke warm, but ice cold! The sandwich that I ordered, I'd had there a month ago and it was great but this one comes out with about half the steak in it as previous so definitely not worth what was charged. The one saving grace of the day was our waitress not charging anyone for their initial drink orders, knowing there were many issues that shouldn't have been happening. Not too likely we'll be back any time soon.

Our last visit was terrible. It started by the hostess setting us right next to a birthday party for a 90 year old woman where everyone was screaming because the old gal was hard of hearing. As the hostess was seat us I asked if we might be seated in the next room and was told the waitress for that room was on break right now so next to the birthday crowd was the only seat available...you got to be kidding me. After some delay, a drink order was placed along with our food order. The drinks came at the same time the food came. No time for the salad bar. Along with a fish fry I had the vegetable medley which was stone cold...obviously they forgot to nuke it before putting it on the plate. I was going to pay with a credit card, but the waitress never came back, so between my wife and I we dug up enough cash and left. We won't be going back anytime soon.

ok, well... you kinda get exactly what ytou expect here. Good food, plenty of it. The main area is a bar - with TV's so if youre looking for a quiet meal, go somewhere else. The decor is fun, piratey and shippy. I had the 1/2 size fish plate - broiled - and it was PLENTY big, and delicious. the salad bar is to laugh at, but they try... doesnt really compare to the chain restaurant's salad bar. Price is good. Fun.

The absolute worst. I had breakfast with my wife. Waited 25 minutes for 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, 2 eggs. My wife order poached eggs. The platter can with hash browns and toast. The waitress brought me, 25 minutes later, french toast, not pancakes. I was too hungry to care. My wife's poached eggs were under cooked. The waitress brought back 2 more poached eggs. This time: overcooked. Hard-boiled. My wife said, forget it. Don't bother a 3rd time. We have been there close to 50 minutes. The waitress said: "I'll take them off the bill." Fine. The comes to over $17. For 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage, a diet pepsi and a coffee. Oh, did I forget to tell you the waitress charged us a la carte for the toast and the hash browns. Classy move, honey. She got her 10% tip. And we left and will never return. The worst experience I've had in a restaurant in 20 years. Breakfast. How can anyone screw up breakfast. Go to Captain Jake's and he'll show you. They are master's at it. DO WATE YOUR TIME. AN ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. NO MANAGEMENT. NO ONE WHO KNOWS AN OUNCE OF WHAT CUSTOMER SERIVE IS ALL ABOUT.

We went with a large group of 14 and most of us ordered pizza and wings and it took them 15 minutes for them just to come back and tell us they were out of pizza? They offered to cook us some frozen ones they had in their freezer but we had no choices in toppings if we did that. Uhh..no thanks. We all had to reorder our food but since it took so long for them to tell us they were out of pizza some of us who ordered the wings with the pizza could no longer skip the wings to order something else! Half the meals were brought 20 minutes before anyone elses and my father-in-law was the last person to get his meal after waiting for almost an hour for it and all he ended up "re"-ordering was a sandwich!! The chowder I ordered had a huge chunk of coral or something in it and I practically chipped my tooth eating it. The food did managed to get was so-so at best. Very disappointing.

I love the bar there, I used to like the food at Jacks as well, but my last 3 times were disappointing - the food over-salted, over-fried, clams came with a bunch of sand; The only two things that didn't disappoint was bar and food at the banquets.

I ended up coming here twice in 3 days for two different experiences. The first night was for partying. The bartender was really good and attentive. We hung out on the back deck and listened to the band. I would have liked to go up to the tiki bar where the band was playing but the rest of the group I was with wanted to chill on the deck. The second visit was for lunch with my family. Service, again, was excellent. However, the food was a disappointment. I ordered a bowl of the lobster bisque and although the flavor was great, it was served room temperature. Three others in our party had the same experience. Same with the clams they ordered. I had the battered haddock and it was good and served hot. My fries, on the other hand, were room temperature. We also ordered sweet potato fries for the table and they were room temperature as well. Big disappointment as I like my food served hot! This place is quite large; decor is cool and staff is great. They just need to get their act together in the kitchen.

I was in town for work from NC. This place felt like cheers, everyone knew everyone's name and were very welcoming to this NC boy. I went twice with my co worker who has a place on the Bay and the good was very good both times. Thursday night we went for the wings and they were some of the best wings I've ever had. The passion that Jason had about the beers on tap is a big draw and I would highly recommend this place.

Stopped in here for some beers after a day on the water. Nice enough place and friendly staff. Bought a tee-shirt and went on my way after a few. Can't beat 2 dollar Blue lights. Will be back for sure and try the food. Nice bar all in all.

Went here for a birthday dinner and was very satisfied. Great food, great atmosphere and great service! Definitely want to come back as I can't find anything I didn't like about it.

Went to Captain Jack's on two occasions, for a post-rehersal dinner drink and a post wedding drink. First off, this is about the only night spot as far as I could tell in Sodus Point and considering the size of the town it was great. This wedding was half full of British people and they dug this place especially the cover bands at the late night tiki bar on the roof. The good: -HUGE - and different rooms have different vibes, so scope out the whole place before you decide where you want to settle down. There is a typical bar area, a restaurant area with a view of the lake and the party tiki bar. -Lots of people - but not overly crowded -Cheesy cover bands - always fun -decent enough selection of alcohol The bad: -the food was just OK - typical bar food -Dirty looks from college kids when we came up to the tiki bar after the wedding. -no cabs - ANYWHERE - so expect to walk home or have a sober driver. All and all - if you are in Sodus Point for some reason then I say hit up Captain Jack's - however I wouldn't go out of my way just to go there. But overall Sodus Point is a beautiful place to go and worth a look.

Great spot! We just discovered Captain Jacks and we are glad we did. The place is huge and then we found the roof top tiki bar, how cool and fun. There was a great band this past Sunday. Food was good.

Captain jacks is a good place to eat when your in Sodus. There food is pretty good and you can have it cooked just how you like it. The place itself is right near the beach and anything to do on the water. Sodus point even has its own little light house. The place itself is pretty cool too, there are stuffed bears, moose, and mounted fish all along the walls. You can eat inside or outside and enjoy good music, whats on TV, or enjoy the great view on the water. there are not a lot of places around to eat at Sodus Point so this is one of the good ones to go to.

A nice spot on the bay, but definitely overpriced. Plates and silverware is plastic and food wasnt that great to warrant a bill of almost $100.

Burger, wings, and cheesesteak all great. Lots of TVs all over great for watching the World Cup! The bar environment was great and the dining area was surprisingly large. The beer list is extensive, but they don't have miller :(. Definitely get the wings hot they were amazing, and you can never go wrong with a cheesesteak and a burger right? The fries were awesome they were battered so they were like chicken fried...fries? They have lots of cool merchandise and the staff is super friendly!

Just had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! 1/2 lb of black angus with lettuce and tomato slice... Simple! And good fries. My wife had grilled Portabello Mushroom with peppers which she reports, was very good also. Nice place!
