On my latest adventure, we stopped by this cutesy town diner on Main St in Lockport. It's about ten minutes away from the Nature Trail that we explored, so it was a perfect stop on the way back home. They have a pretty decent sized parking lot next to the building (unless we weren't supposed to park in there, but we did anyway with no trouble) and street parking so it's pretty accessible. We walked in and found a booth directly to the right, which was definitely the best booth in the whole place. If you're there, go to this booth. You can people watch outside but you can also have a great, unhindered conversation because you're slightly secluded from the other tables/booths. It's a win-win, really. Take the right booth. :) Our waitress was an angel. Can't for the life of me remember her name, but she was great. I previously mentioned in one of my more recent reviews that if I was ever on the fence about a rating, the waitress/waiter/hostess/good staff would help bump up my rating. This was definitely the case! I think Tom's Diner is mostly all of three stars, but I don't think I saw one unhappy individual working there or serving us. In fact, I find that's true in most small town diners; lovely people work there. I think the food is 3 stars. I like Lou's in North Tonawanda a lot better, but this is just A okay. Average at best. My breakfast burrito was smothered in an excess amount of cheese and the home fries were crispy but didn't taste too great. The ham in my burrito was good, and coffee was good too. She kept coming around to refill my glass, which I appreciate. I think the prices are greeeeeaaaatttt. Four or five dollars can cover a meal here. I think that's the trade-off at a diner: okay-ish food for a cheap price. Hey, I'll take it. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy. Don't expect anything too extravagant. Appreciate the homey feel, great prices, and decent people and you'll find yourself satisfied with your experience at Tom's.

The pancakes were really great. Eggs are the easiest food to cook well and the easiest to cook poorly. Really really bad scrabbled eggs and bacon. Eggs were browned and dry . Bacon was burnt and too a crisp. I requested a new piece and was presented with identical bad bacon

We walked right in and got seated, less then 5 minutes later after getting our menus our order was taken. The waitresses always made sure we had everything we needed like coffee. The big breakfast looked good but the fries aren't fries, they're potatoes well seasoned. The order of pancakes we got looked fine but were really crispy on the bottom and hard to cut. But they tasted fine. The 2-2-2 was good. The bacon in 2 of the 3 dishes was pretty good. The only complaint is not hash browns, never been to a diner that didn't have them.

Just got breakfast and it was pretty darn near perfect. Good serving time and price. Got Tom's big breakfast; 2 eggs, meat, toast and home fries. Will be back to try lunch. My wife also enjoyed her's (same thing but she got scrambled whereas I got 2 over medium). Check it out!

My husband and I and our two little guys were in the area and decided to stop in here for a late lunch. We had a restaurant.com certificate and thought it was the perfect time to use it. Note that if you have one of these, present it when you order so that they have time to call it in and redeem it for you. The place itself is quaint and very homemade, which is appealing when it comes to diners. Hand-painted character murals on the walls and randomly placed knickknacks add to the charm. Our waitress was pretty attentive, and had that "sweetie" attitude that you come to expect at a diner. I felt like this is the kind of place you'd find a lot of "regulars." The food came out quickly, which is great when you have antsy children. Our four year old son, who is relatively picky, downed his orange juice, french toast and bacon (and a few of Daddy's french fries) with no problem. We were impressed! Our two year old son, who doesn't eat much of anything, enjoyed a few fries as well. We ordered some onion rings, which came out crispy and flavorful. My husband had the stinger wrap and loved it. I had a chicken finger wrap and thought it was great as well. If I had made it, I probably would have added some mayo for a little squishiness to compliment the crunchy chicken fingers. Other than that, it was all fantastic. All-in-all, we had a good experience. I'm not sure when we'll be back, since we live 30 minutes away, but now we know a great spot to come back to when we're in the area again. Maybe breakfast next time?

Food is fab! Good prices. Great service. I got the bananas foster and it was delicious :) I went with my family and everyone loved their dishes (mix of breakfast and lunch).

Our entire family use to go here, until I returned home from a tour overseas and my first breakfast being home... There was a bandaid in my food. The manager/owner attempted to do what she could offering food and gift certificates however my family and I were completely disgusted and will never return even our extended family won't be back. Hope this helps! Go to Rapids!

I love breakfast here! I go to Toms Diner specifically for their bacon and potato pancakes. The only cons are the hours of operation are confusing, and I'm always unsure of when their open.

Eggs Benedict on Sundays... Awesome. Potato pancakes everyday... Nice ambiance, GREAT STAFF. Ask Dawn about her experiences in Europe and her awesome good. Love this place.

Cute location. Nice, but not overly impressed. Went for dinner, Server forgot napkins, had to ask, then forgot any flatware, had to ask another server. Fish fry was soggy. Pancakes were good. Fried chicken was ok, small. Baked potato was bad.

A nice little diner in the heart of downtown Lockport. They serve a very solid breakfast. Not anything stellar, but good. I really do not recommend this place for a dinner. Food is ok, but breakfast is clearly their specialty.

If you're looking for a simple place for a simple breakfast, this is your place. If you're looking for everything to be made from scratch, this is not your place. Omelette's and basic breakfasts are average, pancakes are big and fluffy.

Great breakfast. Great service. I thought it was going to be pretty dirty based on other comments. Not really. It's a typical local diner. I thought it was nice.

Food taste ok but not delicate. Need to ask them for cooking for longer time if ordering the sunny-side up egg, otherwise it will be too raw on the upper side.

A somewhat expensive diner for eggs, toast, and bacon, Tom's is great for people-watching and morning business deals. Scoring only one $ might seem cheap, but is overpriced for a simple breakfast of toasted package bread, non-organic eggs, bacon left drying too long, and (robusta blend or poorly-roasted) coffee. The diner around the corner from my home can do that for just over $2. For food and tip near $10, i'd expect toast from freshly-baked whole grains with slow-churned organic butter from grass-fed cows, organic eggs from unpenned hens fed a diet rich in omega-3 (not so much corn), organic bacon from local hogs, and organic, fair-trade, shade-grown, mountain coffee with organic raw sugar and fresh sweet cream from grass-fed cows. Okay, for coffee that good, i have black. Especially this time of year, i'd also have liked a freshly-picked local apple (or whatever seasonal variety of fruit); they're cheap and a good complement to the traditional American breakfast. For all that, i'd give 5 stars, too! The waitstaff deserve credit for letting me use the outlet overhead above my table, and for my ordinary questions about the food from a non-regular. They're helpful and attentive.

I've been back to Tom's several times usually on weekends with my family. It's just about the most family friendly place in Lockport. They are flexible with my son who is a very picky eater.

Came here for breakfast had the special which was a cheese omelette. The omelette was good, but the Hawaiian Ice Coffee rocks. The staff were friendly, the place clean & the breakfast cheap (it would have been cheaper but we ordered more than one coffee, YES it was that GOOD). The breakfast special came with toast, omelette, and potatoes; we shared a side of bacon. Tom's is right on the river, has a nice view. Try it, you will like it.

I work at a local Lkpt. business and we often order take out from Tom's. We love the chicken and biscuits! Their food is typical diner food and we would recommended it to anyone looking for a good american meal.
