Took a friend here for birthday lunch based on great reviews from fellow Yelpers. Wow -- we were all blown away, this is my new favorite Thai place on Long Island. They were out of spring rolls (we arrived when they opened but apparently the delivery for the wrappers hadn't come) so we had the gang jued woon sen soup instead (broth with veggies and clear noodles) and it was great! I ordered shrimp pad Thai and it was the best I've ever had -- flavorful and not dry. My friend ordered the chicken pad Thai and was equally impressed. My mom had the basil chicken and it was da bomb. We finished the meal with fried ice cream all around -- it was a birthday lunch after all! Wow, did that hit the spot! Can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu. My taste buds unfortunately don't tolerate spicy foods well, but there are plenty of non-spicy options and some things you can request to be prepared mild.

This restaurant came highly recommended to me by a friend several years ago but since I am rarely out by Islandia have not had occasion to visit until recently. This restaurant is very large. When you enter there is a large waiting area with numerous decorations. We were seated almost immediately. The dining area is also very large with only tables, no booths. They serve a select few beers including two Thai beers as well as specialty cocktails and some wine. We started with the steamed dumplings. In my opinion the chicken inside was a bit dry for my liking. I ordered the panang curry and requested that pineapple be added to the mix (as is a favorite way of enjoying this particular curry). The waitress insisted that this would change the authenticity of the meal and wanted me to understand that before continuing with my order (which I did). The presentation of the meal was nice. The curry came served in a tea pot like container that sat a top a little tea lamp. The curry itself was of thinner consistency then I am used to but it was tasty. The person I was with ordered the Rama dish with chicken instead of vegetarian style. Every time we have ever had Rama, the consistency of the sauce is thick and creamy just like peanut butter (OK maybe not as thick as peanut butter but it's thick) however at Thai Angel the sauce was very thin and water like. I think it was "ok" at best. This is not the worst Thai restaurant I have been to but I favor several other Thai restaurants on Long Island and do not believe I would choose to come here again.

First, let's start with the food. One word - AWESOME. I just love it. I usually get the Pad See Ew and even though I wasn't particularly hungry on this occasion, I completely cleaned off my plate. It was that good. Sometimes I get the appetizers as well like spring rolls and chicken satay - all equally delicious! However, the staff is small for the size of the restaurant so if you go when it's crowded, definitely expect a wait. My advice - GO EARLY before the crowd gets in! So go when you have time and you won't be disappointed with the food.

Don't let this beautifully decorated place fool you.There were pickles in my Pad Thai & my Thai Ice Tea tasted like Lipton tea. The waitress didn't know what Roti was.The summer rolls were not fresh.Not to mention this place is overly priced.I don't mind paying for good food, but this wasn't it.They have Great customer service though but I personally will never eat here again.This is not authentic Thai cuisine.

Thai Angel makes some really good food. I cant say enough good things about their noodle and curry dishes. In 7+ years of coming here I have never been disappointed. One warning of advice I give to any friends I recommend to come here... You have to come in expecting slow service. And try to make plans to come in during off hours. Even with an empty restaurant your average 1 hour meal will stretch to almost 2 hours. Another tip, order quick cause if you ask for a few extra minutes it could be a good 10 or longer before they get a chance to return.

The only time I've been here is for early dinner and I'm always surprised that the place isn't busier. The food is always consistently good and the waitstaff is always friendly and attentive. The curry noddles are outstanding as well as the shrimp with pineapple fried rice.

My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant since we were dating. That's over ten years. It never disappoints. It is one of our very favorite spots. It's authentic and priced well. We recommend this family run restaurant. Be patient as it is family run, you won't wait long for amazing Thai. My favorite dish is the peanut chicken. Enjoy!

So, the food here is awesome. Heaping, healthy portions of noodles, nice presentation, good flavors (except for the Thai dumplings, which can be a wee bit bland), and although a bit more than competitors, good value. The pad see ew is delicious ... especially when you've been waiting THIRTY MINUTES to get it and at that point, are blackout hangry, but immediately super-grateful to see it. This place is like Sour Patch Kids ... first sour, then sweet. They make you really upset, and then soothe you with deliciousness. The service here is perhaps the WORST I've experienced in terms of time. Slower than the drip of molasses on a chilly day. It's courteous but the waitresses are easily confused and inflexible. One giggles randomly, I think out of nervousness. The bussers are pretty quick, but the food comes slow as molasses. I even asked if there was only one chef in the back, and that apparent assumption was confirmed. There's an assistant, but only one guy manning the main wok. And this one guy is brilliant, but he's only one guy with one wok. He takes his time to make each dish and plate it lovingly and make it delicious, but even with the restaurant half-empty, you better make sure you place your order as soon as you sit down or you'll be waiting forever. I'd honestly give the place 4 solid stars if not for the service. Like I said, the food is excellent (or maybe I'm just THAT damn hungry at that point), but if I could get my food quicker, I'd probably stay for dessert, order Thai iced tea, and spend more money if I wasn't positive it'd prolong the agony of the wait.

Clean, lovely restaurant - the women that run the place are very sweet and always remember us. The food is very, very good. The calamari app melts in your mouth! We love spicy food and find it hard to get hot/spicy and FLAVORFUL food on Long Island and Thai Angel always comes through. The food is also fresh and a GREAT value - especially if you indulge in the lunch specials with include a small salad with peanut dressing, choice of soup or spring roll and entree - very filling. They have a duck entree that is amazing - we could put the sauce on cardboard and it would be tasty! Step outside the chain restaurants and give Thai Angel a try - we are never disappointed. They do a good take out business as well.

This is one of those places that I truly love. The vibe is definitely a down to earth, family run, old school thai place. I love the decor and dinnerware. The pad thai is phenomenal as well as the massaman curry. Not only is the food good but I always leave there in a great mood and that's why I have to give it 5 stars. I don't know why I've never went here even though I bookmarked it over a year ago! Maybe because I just assumed it wasn't authentic Thai food because of the name? Well, well, my ignorant self missed out on delicious food. Anyway, went on Valentine's Day with my fiancé and I must say I was surprised. From the outside the restaurant looked small but once we entered the establishment it was huge inside. It's a bit dark but extremely clean with Thai decor which I liked. The staff all seemed very sweet and friendly. We ordered a yellow curry, shrimp salad, drunken noodles and a fish dish. I love the sourness of the tamarind, the bold flavor of the kaffir lime leaves, saltiness of the fish sauce and the spiciness of Thai chili peppers. When I eat Thai food, I expect all these flavors exploding in my mouth all at once and Thai angel exceeded my expectations and I am glad that I gave them a try. I highly recommend the Shrimp salad and the drunken noodles! They are my absolute favorite and I can probably eat it every single day of my life if I had a choice. I deducted a star because I felt like we were there for almost 2 hours and that's a bit way too long for me to sit at a restaurant. Also the food didn't come in any sort of order and my food came out before my fiancés and we had to wait about 8 minutes or so for his. If you feel like having authentic Thai food then I say come here for the experience but only if you have the entire day to kill!

The decor in the restaurant is beautiful and tranquil I love coming here to eat and for take out. Please try them, you will not be disappointed! The is also amazing :)

What ever you do, do not come to this place with an appetite. Even better, eat a snack before because you won't be served your food for at least an hour after ordering. I been to this Islandia strip mall Thai restaurant twice and both times, service was totally absent minded even when it's not crowded. We waited a half hour for our appetizers than another forty five minutes for our entrees. I would've ordered desert but we didn't bring a sleeping bag. Such a shame because when our food arrived, it was excellent. Perfectly grilled chicken satays with a spicy peanut sauce, awesome basil chicken and Penang curry. I would love to come back here again since they obviously can cook, they just have no clue about service. If you don't mind slooooooooow service, this place is great. If you're hungry, forget it.

This is the BEST Thai Restaurant I have ever been to. My favorite dish is Goong Aob Mor Din, Jumbo shrimp with clear noodle, ginger, scallion, and Thai Angel sauce. Their Walnut chicken is my husband's favorite. Our son loves their peanut chicken. Everything here is fresh hand you could taste it.

I really liked this place and that says something because I'm a very picky eater. My boyfriend and I just happened to stumble upon this place while looking for ramen. We wanted to go to Takara('s) after looking up a few places online, but they unfortunately closed down. (Not like I had much of a chance finding good ramen in Suffolk County, Long Island...) He was really hungry, so we just went here because it was close by. The outside of the restaurant isn't much maybe because of the RadioShack sign hovering below the THAI ANGEL sign... Anyway! I was surprised when we walked into the restaurant because it looked really nice in there. There weren't many people eating there yet because of the time, but the place didn't get packed after a little while of being there either, which was nice; it wasn't noisy. They played some sort of instrumental music throughout the restaurant. On to the food. My boyfriend ordered chicken satay as an appetizer, which was really good. The chicken wasn't dry at all and it was very tasty. I order green curry (chicken) and my boyfriend ordered some other kind of curry (yellow?). They came in cute little ceramic(?) pots/containers with a small candle under them to keep the food warm. I don't really have anything to say other than the food was really, really good, as said earlier. I think you can vary the degree of spiciness, which is good for people who can't handle things that are TOO spicy. We order sticky rice (?) with a mango for dessert. YUM! The waiter was also very well-spoken and polite, making sure everything was alright and was always there for water refills, etc. Oh and I also had their thai tea and it was perfect! :D Glad we found this place. Would definitely come back.

Coming from the culinary desert that is western NY, I am really surprised that such a restaurant is so well-reviewed. -the food ranged from subpar (Tom Yum Kai soup; Orange Duck) to the pretty good (larb). -the plum wine was very bad (tasted like it had been left out for several days) and expensive (~$10/glass) -the food took forever to come out (seemed like an hour) -the atmosphere was very unappealing...verrrry dark (and not in a romantic/intimate way), to the point that it kind of made the restaurant look dirty

I have only given two Thai restaurants five stars, and this one deserved to be the third one. I live on 9th Avenue in NYC, a street with more Thai restaurants than any other ten block area outside of Bangkok. I lived in Los Angeles. I know good Thai. This restaurant's food is in the top echelon of Thai restaurants I've ever experienced, and in the most unlikely location. It is an attractive space in a strip mall in Islandia, and the servers and hosts here are attractive and friendly. The only reason this restaurant fell short of five stars is the slow service. No one was hosting in the front entrance when I came around 7:30 pm, I waited for 3-4 minutes for someone to greet me, then another 5 minutes or so before anyone arrived with water or menus. No one person seemed to be in charge of my table. It took 10 minutes to get soup, something that should have been 5 minutes. In other words, everything was slow and a little scattershot in terms of service. But the food was amazing. The lemongrass soup with chicken was excellent and in large portion with significant chunks of chicken breasts. I then ordered the pineapple duck, and I'm so glad that I did. Honestly, it may be the best single Thai dish I'eve ever had. It came in a fun duck shaped dish, and it included a red curry with pineapple and perfectly crispy (but not overly fried) duck meat. I was going to take half of the portion home, but I couldn't stop eating this delicious entree. I would definitely return here again. I would just be sure that I had a cocktail before to calm my impatience down :) Overall, a great experience.

I ordered the lunch special which came with a spring roll, small salad with peanut dressing and Shrimp Pad Thai. The salad and rolls were okay, but the Shrimp Pad Thai was just not good at all. It tasted like it came from a low grade Chinese restaurant, it was dry and little to no flavor. It basically just tasted like noodles. I will not be returning.

Best thai food I have ever tasted. Walking into this place is like walking into museum of Thailand. I have been here many times, my husband and I travel all the way from Ridge. Food and presentation is phenomenal. The chef and his wife who was our server take great pride in this beautiful restaurant. This place is a hidden gem, and I will recommend it to everyone Who are picky about their Thai food. I forgot to mention one big important thing, this place is very clean. I really like this place. It's my first time here and it was enjoyable. Got the curry puff app and chicken pad Thai. The food took a bit longer to get there than other restaurants but it was delicious and the waitress was really nice . I have enough left overs for two meals and I'm really excited to eat it :)

What can I say, we love Thai Angel! There are however a few things that prevent them from a 5 star rating. We've ordered the Yum Nua Nom Tok a few times a salad that we love and the cut of meat they use is really fatty & grisly. The flavor is excellent but I don't think we will be ordering it again. Most of the other dishes we've ordered have been chicken and we've had a much better experience with that. If we dare go to another thai restaurant I immediately compare their tom ka kai soup to thai angel and nothing has even come close. We've tried many of the curries all delicious our favorites being the pa nang and masaman but the super star dish here for me is the kao soi noodle dish. Bursting with flavor with crunchy noodles on top. Service is slow you have to know you are making a commitment when you dine in but good things come to those who wait. Staff is friendly and they always remember the regulars. So grab a singha and relax while you wait for an extraordinary meal.

3.75 stars. Nice little restaurant tucked in the corner of a strip center, close to Wal-Mart and the Blink Fitness facility. Inside is an open, nicely decorated Thai space. Staffers are helpful and very nice, though they can get overwhelmed if the place is even moderately busy. Food is overall very good. Tom Yum Kai is good, with lots of chicken. Spicy noodles is a version of Drunken Noodles found at many places. Ordered "spicy" it is about a 4 on a 5 scale. The chef obviously likes bell peppers, as they are added heavy-handed in dishes that call for them. If you are less inclined you may want to ask for your dishes with fewer or no bell pepper. Decent quality at a decent price. Thai Angel is heaven sent in Islandia for Thai food.

One of my top thai spots to hit up. It may not be the spicest place to go to but there flavors in all the dishes I ate is wonderfully great. Without a doubt they have the best flavors. The whole restaurant is pretty big and thank god they don't cluster it with a bunch of tables. It is quite roomy and it doesn't feel like you're sitting right next to other strangers. The decor feels like a place as if you just walked into their home. Note please be patient with your food coming out to you...at least you know the food is fresh. You want something quick go hit up McDs. First time I've been there I didnt get to right a review. I had my usual pad thai which was great. It wasn't spicy as I wish it was, but without the spice the flavor made up for it. Today 7.25.2013 is my 2nd time there and I wanted something different. Of course I have been craving for fish so I had to get their best fish dish they had to offer. Crispy fried fish (whole fish)seasom with basil and other things. I rather get a whole fish instead of a filet because as a whole fish taste so much better. Don't ask me why or how it just does. You have a choice between bass or red snapper...i chose bass but she mentioned they only had two left and the other guest already took it... so sad but o well I just chose the red snapper. Which was still good. But the whole time while waiting for my dish to come out I was like who took my bass (browse around the room with my eyebrow raised haha jk). I can't explain it. When eating anything I always have to eat some sort of vegetables so I had to get the eggplant. Eggplants is one of my favorite vegetables to eat. The eggplant was just ordinary to me. It was good but it wasnt any different at any other restaurants. I still haven't tried the desserts but I hear great things about it. I def need to try it next time. Also, my next main dish would be duck. Who wants some duck!?...and tag the table with me?

Been here several times , on and off , for several years. Took the drive from Huntington to celebrate my wife's birthday. This place just puts it all together. Beautiful Decor, attentive service , and amazing food. Don't pass on the walnut crusted chicken. We had the special desert which was fresh mango, sliced over sticky rice with coconut milk. It was not too bad. I almost ate the plate that it came on.

DO NOT come here during lunch on a weekday unless you have a lot of time to kill. This place is slow and understaffed. And, in my opinion, the food is not worth the wait. It's decent, but you can find decent Thai food all over Long Island without waiting an hour.

I usually go here for the lunch special since the food can be pretty pricey but it is a good size portion. The spring roll is delicious. Spicy and flavorful food which I absolutely love. The one nuisance is the total must be over $15.00 to use a credit card pretty annoying but other than that this place is good and worth a visit.

The BEST Thai restaurant on Long Island, without question. A bit more expensive than some, but so what? It's THAT good. Ample portions...very fair for the price. Delicious, complex flavors, subtle, fiery when requested. MUST try dishes include Pad Woon Sen ( noodles... mild ), Basil Garden ( vegetarian...Hot and superb...a good choice for "authentic Thai Hot" preparation ) Spicy Noodles with tofu ( mildly spicy ) Thai Angel Duck ( sweet and a bit spicy ) Tamarind Honey Duck ( Mild ). Skip the appetizers and order an extra main dish for the table.

Had dinner here Wednesday night and it was really delicious. I had the Tom Ka Kai (chicken soup) and my husband had the Tom Yu Goong (spicy shrimp soup) ... then I had the luscious and crispy Orange Duck ... it was so good I ate it all up and was totally stuffed. My husband had the Mixed Seafood Curry and he also finished the whole thing. These were large portions served on colorful plates with Jasmine Rice and the food and the decor were very attractive. Even though there was a large group there at the time, they did not bother us, so the acoustics provided a nice atmosphere to enjoy visiting with our HS friend who we had not seen in many years. :) Our waitress was Joy, and although she seemed to be the only one waiting on tables, and there were many tables to serve, the service was excellent. We will return again when we are in the area.

I love this restaurtant although I have never sat down to a meal here. I have ordered the lunch specials various times and my husband begs me to bring home dinner from here and he is a picky eater! Off the appetizers menu I recomend their spring rolls (crispy) as they are crunchy and the dipping sauce is sweet and tasty (not a bland sugar paste like regular duck sauce). We have also had the chicken dumplings which are pricy at over $1 a dumpling (5 dumplings for $6). Those have a delicious sauce as well, what can I say, we're sauce people. Their pad thai is okay, I've had better. Their pad see ew is good although it isn't jam packed with chicken or shrimp, it has good flavor and their noodles are usually cooked well. Pineapple fried rice is always a win and personal favorite (I get it without raisins and extra pineapple). It can be a little greasy but what fried rice isn't I guess? We also had sweet and sour chicken with sticky rice which was strips of white meat chicken, peppers and onions in a sweet tangy red sauce, kind of like the Chinese red sauce only more flavorful and not as sweet. Their Thai iced tea is also pretty good. I have had it better but this is as good as it gets out of NYC.

This is by far the best Thai food I've ever had. This place has set the bar high for all other Thai restaurants that I try. If you're in the area, definitely check out this place. If not, it's even worth the drive.

Great Place and Decor. I love the feeling when I walk in, like I've just walked into Thailand. I've ate here about 10 times. Food is Excellent. My only problem is the Service. Although friendly, on average it takes about 10mins or more to get your drink order in and additional 10 or so to get it, and then to order your course. Then your left waiting for the Bill. Besides that, everything is great. Quick remedy would to hire an extra hand.

Went here Friday after work and the place was empty, one table besides us. We sat about 15mins before we received water and was told waitress will be over shortly. As the minutes past I continued to look around for the invisible patrons keeping our waitress busy...never found them. Finally she arrived and said "what do you want". Well dear frickin hello to you too, yes we are very glad we joined you tonight. At this point I remembered why I no longer come here, we used to frequent because we work across the street. Food came out in less time than it took her to come take our order. Food was just ok little oily and had a burnt taste. I won't be back. Customer appreciation 1/2 star Food 2.5 stars

My favorite thai place on Long Island! Every time I go somewhere other than Thai Angel I am disappointed! I usually order the chicken pad thai. Love the soups and the peanut chicken dish too. The staff is always friendly and the place is always clean.

My first time here. I used Yelp to find a thai place. When I walked in I knew I was gonna like it. It's cute. I sat at the bar to order take out and have some plum wine. Wound up talking to the owner, Joy who was so sweet and funny! I ordered the duck salad in red chili sauce. Out of this world! It was completely satisfying. Very spicy but enjoyable. I will definitely be back!!!

It's hard to say if this is authentic Thai or an Americanized version having only been to Thailand once for only a few days several years ago. That being said, I do really enjoy Thai Angel. Family owned and run (I think the husband is the chef and the wife your waitress most days/nights), it's a surprising find considering the location. I've had countless lunches here and a handful of dinners. Only on one occasion do I remember the place being close to full. For lunch I prefer the Spicy Noodle, Pad Thai, Pad Se-Eaw, or one of the curries. Love the peanut salad dressing and the spring rolls too, and for $11, its a pretty big lunch. For dinner I recommend the Pla Kra Prow (fried fish with chili and Thai basil sauce), or one of my lunch favorites. I also like that they serve thai beer.

Best Thai restaurant I've been to...their duck is so delicious...every other food I've had here were either above average or real good...staff are nice and attentive...they also remember you even if you haven't gone in a long time...and they treat you even nicer if you're a return customer...definitely cool in my opinion. Only bad thing about this place is that it is soooo far away...too far out east Btw...for some reason ive seen "celebreties" here...lol...The 1st time I went here I saw Ty Pennington...2nd time I went here I saw a very very famous Thai personality...I believe he is a recording artist that plays violin...idk lol Overall it's a hike...but if u want the best Thai basil duck...this is the place to go.

This is the best Thai around the area. The owners are from Thailand and extremely attentive and customer service oriented. The Pad Thai, Curry Puffs and Pineapple Fried Rice are fantastic. You will be hard pressed to find another Thai place better on LI.

The food and staff were wonderful. The curry puff appetizer and the tilapia were the highlights of our meal. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Other reviewers mentioned long wit times. I came at 5:30 and was there for an hour total. Must be before the rush as the place wasn't packed and the service was normal rather than slow.

Came back here again to give it another try, and it was much better than the first time. Service was quite slow and spotty but that aside, food was better. We had to get thai spicy to get some spiciness here. Had the beef satay -- peanut sauce was standard; a bit on the sweet side, and grilled beef was tender. Tom kha gai -- coconut soup on a chili winter night is always comforting. Not the best, but it hit the spot. Siam noodles -- mediocre... overly sweet sauce and too high of noodle to veggies/meat ratio. Whole red snapper with basil -- needed to ask for thai spicy and it tasted much better but the it still lacked crispy skin covering the moist, tender flesh. Massaman curry -- this tasted pretty good but a bit too much potatoes. Overall, a solid place when I have a craving for thai food and don't want to drive far. Can't come here too hungry because we had to wait over 40 minutes for our entrees to come. Probably better for takeout.

Ate diner there today. Food was ok ordered the spicy noodles with chicken flavor was ok but for 14 dollars I am expecting some chicken on my plate. Sandra my date ordered the pad Thai with beef again not a lot of beef but lots of noodles. The flavors were good but again not enough protein for the amount that they are charging

You cant go wrong with anything on the menu or my favorite the thai iced tea ! The family that runs the place is always pleasent and inviting . However !! I stopped in Thai Angel recently because I was working in the area and needed to pick up some lunch. The place is a little difficult to find, in the middle of a strip mall, but the decor is cute and it's clean. When I walked in, I noticed that there were quite a few tables and they seemed to be regular customers who knew the waitress (good sign). I also noticed that the waitress was the only person working the front of the house and she was busy! It took awhile before she could even acknowledge me for my takeout order, and the food did not come out quickly. Prices are average. My Pad Thai lunch special ran 10.95 and came with a small salad and a spring roll. The portion size was fine, but $12 for takeout lunch, I'd consider average. All this being said, the place still gets 4 stars, because it was really good Thai food! I opted for the pad thai, because I use that as a measure for thai restaurants. If a place cannot make good pad thai, I'm unlikely to return. Thai Angel makes an excellent pad thai. I asked for medium spice and that's exactly what I got- spot on. It had nice heat, but nothing that murdered my taste buds for the rest of the day. There was plenty of chicken, noodles, bean sprouts, and a nice topping of ground peanut (which many local places skimp on or totally leave out of the dish). The spring roll was also very good- crunchy on the outside and not too greasy. I will return to Thai Angel, but next time, not on a totally empty stomach. Hoping it will be worth the wait!

I have eaten here a number of times (whenever I've been in town) and the taste and quality of food is very consistent. The decor is relatively simple and the staff is for the most part nice, though a little slow. I had lunch there with some co-workers today and was greeted very warmly. The server that actually took our order, was not very, and I felt embarrassed as I had recommended this place and seemed like we were starting on a bad note. She was abrupt with us and rude when I asked if I could substitute something on the menu. Our actual server was very pleasant and checked on us a few times. We all started with the salad and I had Tom Yum Khai while they had the spring roll. My entree was the Spicy Eggplant with shrimp, which had bell peppers, onions, and carrots in a garlic chili sauce. My co-workers had the Green Curry with chicken and the Ginger Chicken. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were quite satisfied with our lunches. I would definitely go back as their food makes up for their slower service.

This place is outstanding! From the decor to the fantastic food. The owners are two of the nicest people you can meet. When you walk in you are greeted by name and asked if you would like the usual. I love eating here. Try the spicy chicken noodle and taste a little bit of heaven.

Good food but the worst service. Got there and seated at 7:10 got food at 9:30. We were told, after complaining, that because we were a table of 10 we should be patient. No one came out to us to apologize for the wait. No one in the restaurant was getting food either. Will never go back!!!

I came here for lunch the other day and I left pleasantly full. The lunch special is really great. For 11.95 or 12.95, depending on the type of meat you want, you get a small salad, a soup or a spring roll, and an entree. The salad had a very yummy almost peanut sauce dressing on it and I opted for a spring roll, which was also good. I had spicy noodles with fried tofu for my entree, which was definitely good. As I've said before, I'm a tough judge when it comes to thai because I worked at a great thai restaurant in college and they really set the bar high for me. So, this is not the best thai food I've had, but it was good. And the lunch deal is definitely worth dropping in for! The only real complaint I have is the slow service, which can be a probably when you're on lunch.

So far, some of the best Thai I've had. Portions are large and GOOD. Their bottles of fresh ginger ale are very over-priced, but a nice option to have. Thai iced-tea, thai basil rice, coconut chicken soup, all excellent. Service is kind of slow at times as we wait for the food to be made to order. At least we aren't rushed. If you are in a hurry, don't come here! Restrooms are modern, clean, and a breath of fresh air. I'd recommend this place to anyone. For the money, the prices are fair, not cheap, but fair for what you get.

Excellently prepared and presented dishes, but the preparation time of over 1 1/2 hours was nearly unbearable. Of the 10 in our party, three ordered the orange duck. We were told after an hour that the duck took the longest and delayed the entire table. I have very mixed feelings rating this restaurant. Good food; poor service.

went there again last night as my buddy wanted thai food, and the sea bass I had was steamed with vegetables poured on top after the steaming process...which is fine with me except that the fish turned out to be quite bland and tasteless...for $22.95 / 1.3lb sea bass, it was a great disappointment. I'd suggest staying with the red/green curries and/or their basil/ginger/cashew nut dishes with "your choice of protein"...or even the pad thai.

This is the first time I came here. I mean the food is OK. But attitude from the waitress is really really bad. We just ask a question about the drink , and she shows really inpatient and rude attitude . Then she serve us very rude for the rest of time. The decor is authentic imported Thai craftsmanship. The staff and the food are phenomenal. It takes a little while to wait for your meal but that is because it is very fresh. The flaming fried ice cream is as spectular as it is delicious. The raspberry coulis is made from the Chef's secret recipe. Absolutely devine for any occassion!

My favorite restaurant; great atmosphere, amazinglying friendly owners, and delicious food. I cannot say enough about this place. I try to eat there at least once a week. All my family and friends I bring there absolutely love it. I would strongly recommend to try this restaurant. Dimly lit and decorated in all things Thailand you'd forget you left a Wal-Mart strip mall location. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. A great date spot and also a good intro to Thai food for the non initiated. The Pad Thai is loaded with chicken. The request for Medium spice was actually a medium spice. There is a Peanut Chicken dish that is supposed to be excellent. The Thai Dumplings were delicate and had a tasty dipping sauce.

Empty on a Saturday night. Cavernous and poorly lit -- like being on a community theater stage. Both curries we tried were some of the least flavored we've had on LI. The Massaman was more akin to a gravy made with coconut milk. Not disgusting, but really flat. Thai iced tea was all cream, no tea. Service stunk. We sat for 15 minutes without drinks. In a big empty back corner.

I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and once you get inside, it has a very nice Thai decor. Pretty good deal on their lunch specials. Other than that, wasn't really into it. The service wasn't that great and it wasn't really crowded.

I am giving this review on the only main dish I have ever had here as well as the appetizers. I have been here probably 15 times now and I have had the honey tamarind duck each and every time. I always said that if I was being executed and had a last meal that would be it. I have tried all the apps and they are all excellent, especially the dipping sauces. My wife usually gets something different and she is pleased every time. The staff is very friendly, I feel like I have known them for many years. I'm not sure where all the negative reviews on here come from, people are basing it on a dimly lit restaurant? I cant taste the light, I taste the food and for me it is excellent.

And get this: I was going to walk to the train station, but the staff was so aghast that I was going to brave the cold that the chef himself came running out and absolutely insisted on giving me a ride!! If the taste met my expectation, my rate would be 4 stars. Comparing with Thai restaurants in other states I have been, this restaurant was much better though.

Being that my mother is Thai I am slighly jaded. The service is good and I liked the dining room atmosphere (skip the bar). The spring rolls were fair; and they were out of tod mun (?). I had the chicken green curry. It was really salty, but did come in a cute warming candle dish.

I like the overall decor in this place. The Thai iced tea was good. But that was the only thing that I tried that I liked. The soup had pepper slices in it something I have never had in a Thai place. I wanted it to be more spicy too. The Thai salad was okay the dressing was to spicy. The pad Thai wasn't anything special either. Before I got my check I started to feel sick. After I paid I had to almost run to the bathroom to get sick. I don't know for sure if that had anything to do with the food but I won't be eating here again.

When reviewing a Thai place (or any place for that matter) one must have a good understanding of what makes a thai place great. Great food at great prices are the main points. This is not a gourmet restaurant, nor is it a grease pit/hell hole. Its a Thai place done exactly right, which is why I give it 5 stars... it is an expert at what it sets out to do... What this place is is a simply fine restaurant that will allow for a nice inexpensive dinner with friends or a date, or enough takeout food to feed a family of four. Lets talk about the food, and this is important...Their Pad Thai was the BEST I EVER had, and I have been to many, many, many thai places in my lifetime. I am from Chicago and was visiting a friend here who also said that it was the best he ever had as well. These are bold statements. I was very surprised to have the best pad thai I have ever had from a restaurant in Holbrook NY. Portions are generous as expected but the main thing I look for is flavor. I dont care how much you give me if it is bland and sucks. The flavor of this pad thai is so well balanced its hard to stop eating it...I am in Chicago now,and Im craving it from this place. We have been back and the food was consistant. Would definatley recommend for anyone pondering a great after work meal, or nice takeout with a significant other with a movie. they serve beer and sake, but dont forget about takeout.

To say that the service here is a little slow is akin to saying that NAMBLA's issue is poor public relations. We were there as a party five (note the absence of a Neve Campbell joke here...I'm maturing as a reviewer) with 3 other tables populated in the entire restaurant. It took 30 minutes to bring over the bottle of wine that was ordered and nearly an hour the five entrees, all of which were ordered right off the menu with nary a customization. The food was really good - walnut crusted chicken especially was fantastical - and the wine, which apparently the waitress stomped the grapes and brewed in the bathtub after we ordered, was really good. Heck the beer (Singha which translated into English means 'Pabst') was served with an ice cold elephant mug, which won points. However the fact that dinner which included one bottle of wine, two beers and five entrees took 2.5 hours cannot get anything more than a mediocre review in my book. And what's that book called you may ask? Obviously, it's "When good food is ruined by bad service and a worse strip mall in Islandia", or "WGFIRBBSAAWSMIA" as it's referred to in the biz.

Thai Angel got some good beef pad thai cooking i tell ya. I love their stuff chicken wings too and green curry chicken. My husband and I love this place whenever we are craving for thai food we go here for some pad thai, it never fails.

Thai Angel is the BEST !!!! The pad thai was very good the best ever, They have very good green cury soup which is great (spicy). They have this snapper fish that is to die for even the salad was great. They also have very good thai tea. For dessert i high recommend the fried ice cream and the fried bannaa OMG just writting about this place makes me want it right now. lol but the females server can be rude at times but the males are nice. My family and I came in 1 hour before they closed and they didnt seem in a rush or upset they even turned on the plasma tv so i could watch the olympics ( i wanted to see phelps swim) The male waiter was nice he was cheering for phelps as well it was just a great night at a great place BEST on long island. The decor is also great when you walk in its like going to a art mesume.

Wow!!! The best Thai restaurant! You may not see it as you drive around, it is a few doors down from TJ Maxx, next door to Radio Shack, in the Islandia Shopping Center. All food is made to order, so you'll need some patience, as the service is a little slow, but the food is worth the wait, trust me.
