Another great brunch spot in the West Village/Greenwich area! Of course, a fairly long wait during peak hours but the staff is really friendly. The hostess was attentive and did well to accommodate us as quickly as possible. The ambiance of Good is really casual and bright. Super busy all the time with waiters running around all over the place but not in a crazy frantic way. We got seated in the back for a group of 6 and fit comfortably so it's definitely a good spot to bring big groups (just get there early!). If I can rave about one thing, it would be the goodbread basket. Definitely good for groups, you have a choice of three out of five types of bread for 9 dollars. We got the Pumpkin spice, the cornbread and biscuits. All three were good but the cornbread was my least favorite. It was drier and heavier than I'd have liked and I prefer sweeter cornbread. Good also has a great Brunch special that includes any Egg Dish, Pancake or French Toast, any house-made bread or side dish, and a Bloody Mary or Mimosa all for $19. I did this and got the Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast, Cheddar Jalapeno Grits and Mimosa. All three were great. I did wish that the Grits were cheesier and had a bit more kick to them, though. Overall, another successful brunch spot! Bread Starter Score: N/A but make sure to get one or a basket of their homemade bread! Definitely worth it!

Very good food! I had the Arugula salad with grilled chicken and it was fabulous! Nice quiet atmosphere. The only thing I didn't like was one employee who didn't speak English who could not answer our menu questions. There was another employee who would come over and assist when we needed help. We would definitely return here for lunch again!

Okay I have to say up front that I didn't eat here and only had drinks at the bar but I loved it! Had some gin and St. Germaine drinks which were superb. The bar service was fast and good and the ambiance was nice. I would recommend it for predinner drinks for sure and would check out the food there another time as well.

I just ate at Good this morning... er, well it felt like morning even though it was 12:30. Everybody's favorite meal of brunch had drawn the usual crowd and we were initially told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table for four. We found this to be acceptable and started to walk outside of the crowded interior to loiter about when the hostess called us back a minute later and got us a table. Good definitely gets points for service here. The food was a little pricey and nothing too special, although all the menu items were dressed up with foodie buzzwords. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes and a strawberry cantaloupe juiced drink. The pancakes were very lemony so be sure you're ready for that if you order this. Combined with the fresh strawberries it came with, it was pretty decent. This place is pretty tight inside and there's a lot of servers moving about, so if you have a pounding headache from the night before, you might want to seek another brunch spot. Fortunately, I was feeling pretty good this particular morning and overall enjoyed the experience, but with so many brunch options, not sure if I can give it beyond 3 stars.

We had eaten a late lunch and then gone to see a 6 pm movie. Now it was 8:30 or so and as we walked from Chelsea back to the West Village it seemed the right moment for a nightcap. We have both mostly loved our dinners at Good, but was it going to be the right spot for one of us to have tea and the other a cocktail? And surely they wouldn't want us taking up a table during prime time for such light fare. Friendly as could be, they invited us to sit near the front window, next to the bar, and couldn't have been nicer about accommodating us. We ended up sharing a delicious spicy bowl of Mac and cheese with a tiny salad (comfort food with a twist) along with our drinks. We even had a small dessert later and I a shot of espresso. Perfect.

Came here for a saturday brunch.... so crowded, long wait, so we opted to sit at the bar because two seats were opening up. I had such a good cocktail and I dont remember which it was, but it was fruity and delicious. I choose banana waffles I think. There was a cream cheese type filling. Whatever it was exactly it was heaven in my mouth and warmed my body and satisfied my sweet tooth! My date decided to go savory with an omlett type dish with cheese and arugla and it was ham i think. That was amazing as well. clearly i need to go back. it was a pricey brunch, but well worth it. and now im not surprised why its so busy there.

Yikes! My previous review resulted in a defensive e-mail from the owner, who mistakenly thought I was criticizing his post-Irene service level... Actually, my visit was a few weeks back. A warning: should you have any neutral or negative comments, be prepared for a potentially testy exchange with restaurant management.

I used to eat here maybe 2 times a week. Awesome restaurant. Great brunch as well. But I have no idea why they changed their club sandwich. Their old one was definitely the best club sandwich in the city - possibly the world - and potentially ever. This would be like Nobu deciding they weren't going to serve the miso cod! Anyway, they have some other pretty good dishes. But I guarantee the new club doesn't stack up to the old in the revenue department.

Tops for Brunch -- All things considered, after what has to be my 20th time eating here, I've gotta say that this is my favorite NYC brunch. Nothing here will shock you with heavenly decadence, but you simply cannot leave this place without thinking, holy cow that was good. Recommended: breakfast burrito (w/ egg whites); banana cream cheese stuffed french toast.

Moderately priced entrees with portion sizes ranging from 'just right' to 'doggie bag required'. Service is always top-notch and the menu is seasonal. Love the side dishes, esp the grilled asparagus, and the selection of specialty cocktails is creative. Brunch can get very busy, go early if you don't like waiting. The owner is a sweet guy.

Good at dinner on a Saturday night had a very promising beginning. We were seated immediately outside as requested and the server was extremely friendly-- service was good throughout. A pre-dinner Blackberry Julep was absolutely delicious, a frozen mix of citrus vodka, blackberry puree, and mint. It took all my self-control to not order another... and another... and another... The breadbasket arrived warm, always a plus in my book. Some meh sourdough bread concealed delicious cornbread at the bottom of the basket. I wonder if you could say never mind the other bread, just bring me loads of the good stuff! Appetite whet, stomach growling in anticipation, my entree arrived: Diver Sea Scallops with corn puree, grilled scallions and zucchini tempura. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should never get carried away by first impressions: the zucchini was greasy and over battered, scarcely a trace of the julienned vegetable inside; the grilled scallions barely singed with all that slimy rawness of a fresh scallion inside-- good in okra, bad in scallion. The corn puree, ok. The scallops were even perfectly cooked, I will give them that. But at $22 for 6 scallops, I expect them to at least be whole and not broken pieces of scallop. If not for the cornbread, I would still be hungry. DH had the Goodburger stuffed with pulled pork and smoked mozzarella, which he loved. The beef was tasty and well prepared, and the sturdy bun (nice and crusty outside, fluffy inside) held up very well. But again here, the fryer seemed to be their Waterloo. The fries were overdone on the outside with that overall soft texture that tells you they've been reheated. We were a little afraid to order dessert and instead headed over to Momofuku for some soft-serve (we gave up mid-trek and went home :)) I can't say I had a bad dinner.. I guess I'll echo what other people seem to be saying: it's good food, no more. But I expect more at these prices-- I've had better quality for money. If someone says meet me at Good I'll be all for it, as long as I'm not paying.

We went there last night for a work related dinner. Food was really good, service was on point and the restaurant was not too crowed. The prices were also good for the West Village. I am pretty sure they have been there for over 10 years-- that says something for an NYC restaurant!

This is a hard review to write, because I don't have much to say about Good. Everything was just fine. The service was fine, the food was fine, the drink menu was fine. Nothing was outstanding, nothing was bad. It was very middle of the road. The best thing was easily the duck confit and squash special appetizer. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

On a busy and HOT saturday night and after trying to get into two other places, we came to Good around 9pm for some dinner. Luckily it was pretty much empty and we got a table right away. Stick to this place for brunch. I've been here once before for brunch years ago and really loved it. Me love me some muffin baskets. However for dinner it leaves something to be desired. It was perfectly okay. I tried the pulled pork slider and if you're looking for bbq and moist, do not order this one. I felt a little gross after finishing it. Not the pulled pork I so often seek. Also ordered the rigatoni and meat sauce. That was pretty good actually, but let's be honest, if you're going to get some pasta why would you come here while in the village?! Dear Good, Save some money and close after lunch.

I love Good! After brunching here a few weeks ago, I stopped in for dinner last night and realized I had neglected to review it. Good is everything I wanted Aloe to be: tasty, simple, elegant and eclectic food at very reasonable prices. Brunch was excellent -- I had the special with poached eggs, hollandaise and fried heirloom tomatoes, and my friend had the goat cheese and basil scramble. Both were perfectly cooked, just greasy enough to satisfy for brunch, and very yummy. I especially liked the fried tomatoes - they were juicy and crisp on the inside! For dinner, I got to try the flatbread pizza, the crostini, the goddess salad, the mac & cheese and the bread pudding. Flatbread pizza - yum. The flatbread was super-thin and just crispy enough, covered with shavings of melted cheese, onions and crunchy bacon. This was fantastic. Crostini - the crostini was covered in ricotta salata and honey. I really appreciated the honey and fresh ricotta -- it was delish -- but I felt the dish needed a little something more, maybe some salt or herbs to balance the creamy ricotta and the sweet honey. Goddess salad - perfect. The dressing was light but present, not smothering. I appreciated the cheese and the cornbread croutons, which gave the salad textural variety and some interesting flavors. I gobbled this salad up, and could easily have had a second helping. Mac and Cheese - My girlfriend had the mac and cheese, and she is a mac and cheese fanatic. It's served with a salad that includes cilantro and has a spicy cilantro-lime-mint dressing. The salad was terrific. The mac and cheese was very good, but not great. We both liked the crunchy topping and the spiciness (the green chile tasted fresh and authentic, hard to find on the east coast). The cheese, however, just didn't have that much flavor. Maybe this is because they wanted the chile to take center stage, but it is mac and CHEESE, and you should be able to taste the cheese. All in all, it was good and filling, but not as spectacular as I expected. Bread pudding - wow. I am a bread pudding freak, and while I usually tend toward the traditional Irish thick loaf with bourbon sauce, Good's bread pudding really impressed. It's a fairly thin bread pudding (About 1" high) compared to the 2-3" thick puddings I usually have. It was rich and soft, and very hot. The chocolate had just the right amount of sweetness - it didn't taste like I was eating fudge or chocolate chips - and the banana added a nice touch. The whole thing was lovely. My only criticism is that it was served with vanilla ice cream -- in these days of uniquely flavored ice creams (popcorn, brown butter, olive, honey, buttermilk, beer), something more creative would've been appreciated. But the best part: Dinner was under $60 for the two of us. For a restaurant with upscale, creative, tasty food in our neighborhood, this is a STEAL. We'll definitely be back. A lot.

Must try the baked goat cheese, so good! And keep an eye out for the local old school crowd at the bar. They have the best stories.

LOVE the Chipotle Mary (took the edge off on a Saturday.. needed 5 more, as a realized later on). Had the migas for brunch, which were delicious and complemented the CM fantastically. Good was good.

Giving Good five stars because I've never experienced anything but happiness there. I live in Brooklyn on the L train so this is my go-to brunch place when meeting up with people from the west side. Brunch is always delicious (especially the pear pecan crumb cake). They also have a perfect bloody mary with the exact right amount of salty and spicey. Went to Good for the first time for dinner today, and they didn't disappoint at all. My friend wanted to eat early, and it turns out from 6-7 they have a special where you can get 2 courses for $23 (amazing). I had a salad with dandelion greens and sauteed calamari followed by a pork chop with broccoli rabe and peppered orange marmalade. My friend just got the flatbread pizza appetizer, which was definitely enough for a meal. Generous portions, fresh, and delicious. The waiter was also super-nice and had great recommendations about what to order.

Veal ricotta meatballs on focacia was a delicious, perfectly portioned meal. The service was a little slow but the food is good, like the name of the store, good. I wasn't too too crazy about the donut desert though--- its a good concept in theory, but like its namesake, its just good.

Good is great. We went there for brunch on a Saturday. We walked in right when it opened at 11. So glad we got there when we did, it was full within 20 minutes. The service was excellent. Nice atmosphere -- full bar, nice music. The breads are all made on the premisis. I had an order of buttermilk biscuits and they were fantastic. I found out later I should have gotten the orange doughnuts and now I'm mad. I also ordered on of the specials -- a shrimp omelet with corn & avacado. It came with potatoes and a beautiful salad. It was a ton of food and I could barely eat half after the biscuits, but I didn't care. My husband had an order of banaa stuffed french toast made with home made sourdough bread. He loved it. Coffee was great & plentiful. Even through there was a line when we left we never felt rushed to leave. I was only in NY for a few days but we seriously considered eating there twice. I will definitely return.

I've known for awhile that Good Restaurant has great brunch... good food, always busy, still good for groups.... It wasn't until today that I tried their lunch. As expected, it was great. The service was a kinda lacks, but I wasn't in a hurry. They have a 'quick lunch' special; $15-soup, salad or sandwich, and a cookie. Its a good portion too. It was also much less crowded than their famous brunch.... So if your in the neighborhood try it out.

Went there for brunch and had the stuffed frenchtoast. It was ok but not amazing. Also had an omelet which was good but I haven't had too many bad ones. I had it with egg whites and it was a bit pricey to do it that way.

So I got suckered into restaurant.com and bought a gift certificate at a discount. The restaurant selections available were definitely less than stellar. Good Restaurant seemed to have the most potential by comparison... Overall, I wouldn't go again...but if you have to, here are my suggestions: Order: Jalapeno Macaroni and Cheese: this heaping bowl of creamy mac 'n cheese is pretty delicious. The jalapeno kick definitely builds up as you eat more and more. The only downside to this dish would be that it gets "old" after awhile. The same taste with every bite... Skip: Heirloom Tomato Salad: Was extremely disappointed in this dish. Not a standard fixture on the menu, it was a special that night. It was supposed to be "really good" according to our server, but it definitely wasn't anything special even though it consisted of 2 types of heirloom tomatoes, 2 types of string beans, and 2 types of basil, and 1 type of cheese (forgot the name) drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Just ok: Goodburger(grilled burger filled with pulled pork & smoked mozzarella cheese on a brioche bun - sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato, side bbq sauce & fries): I expected more flavor from the burger...fries tasted like they'd been sitting out for awhile. Banana and Chocolate Chip Rice Pudding (served with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream): This actually wasn't bad, but it wasn't out of this world. Service: Friendly Overall, the only dish I really enjoyed was the jalapeno mac 'n cheese and honestly, it takes more than 1 dish to keep me coming back unless that's the only thing on the menu!

I've been to Good for brunch twice; the first time I thought it was OK and the second time I found it more delicious [probably because I had a cocktail]. There is a $20 brunch special which includes a side, an egg dish, and a cocktail - an ample amount of food that is all pretty tasty. I ordered the goat cheese and basil scramble which was really yummy, salty, and had a nice pesto on the side, the spicy chipotle home fries [a nice twist on regular home fries], and the chipotle bloody mary. The bloody mary wasn't super strong but really nice, chunky, and salty. I think the biggest appeal to this place is the great brunch crowd, the outdoor seating, and the opportunity to sit in the west village and enjoy a nice meal with friends for under $30 bucks.

For me, GOOD is as good as it gets--really. I've been to brunch often times however, it had been quite a while since I've had dinner there--and I just returned this week--to amazing outcomes! I was on a group dinner there with a small corporate budget. We ordered some appetizers (crostini was jaw-dropping) and I had the lamb while some of my fellow diners had the mahi-mahi. Everything was stupendous, flavorful and really well executed! To top things off, the doughnuts...those doughnuts...I'm still dreaming of them--and there was a live jazz band that provided that ambiance you want in a village restaurant. I love GOOD, and I know I got a few more people to fall in love with it as well.

Wow, I'm disappointed and surprised this establishment does not have at least a 4 star rating. I grudgingly made the trek down to this place last night with a group of friends from out of town and was extremely happy with the quality of food and especially the service. What you should know : If you are mac and cheese lover as I am, definitely order the green pepper mac and cheese. It is delicious - definitely up there towards the top of the "world's best mac and cheese list." I would suggest ordering this for the table so that you can enjoy one of the other "good" entrees. I had the halibut, which was cooked and flavored to perfection. Also a great atmosphere - not very loud and tables are well spaced out. Lot's of character. I highly recommend this place.

Love the value in the huge, well-rounded brunch at Good. Nice people, cute place, great food.

Good is among my favorite spots for brunch in the West Village and in my opinion has better food (but not necessarily a better overall experience) than Extra Virgin and Sant Ambreous. This place has kind of a tex mexy / southern flair to their brunch with home made biscuits, cheese grits and then brunch entrees like Migas (scrambled eggs rancheros with tortilla strips) and a colossal breakfast burrito plus other standard fare like omeletes, pancakes, and salads. I just think the food quality is very high and fresh and creative (for brunch). Inside is very tightly packed and while the service is prompt it certainly isn't anything particularly special.

This place is "good." but nothing super memorable. It's a cute space and the waiters are friendly. The wine list is decent and the food is decent. The best part of the meal by far was the mac and cheese with chile and tortilla chip crumbles instead of bread crumbs. I love mac and cheese and this one is definitely different than a lot of other places. This is the best thing on the menu by far and is definitely worth trying.

i've been here a few times before for brunch and lunch and will say depending on what you order, the food is meh. The service is efficient and they are good about doing water refills. I found the breakfast burrito to be rather disappointing because it came out bland and rather tasteless. The portion is huge but that's and thank Buddha for the sauce that came with it or else I would've been eating a tortilla and eggs.....

Delirious from my red-eye flight and unable to check into my hotel room, I decided to wander the streets and stumbled upon GOOD, just as my hunger peaked. I ordered a POWER breakfast wrap and reached for a magazine out of my backpack. Lo and behold, I pulled out - GOOD magazine! (no joke) The wrap was pretty GOOD - better than I expected, but I could have used a few more breakfast options on the menu. GOOD!

Remember when "Green Goddess" dressing was big, like in the late 70's? I was just a little boy then, a little budding nipper with a love for Wonder Woman and roller skates. Studio 54 was big and Donna Summer was On The Radio. My mom used to lie by the pool wearing huge Jackie O' sunglasses and order salad with Green Goddess dressing and a Fresca from the country club's poolside service. As a tyke I thought (and still think) she was so damned glamorous and the fact that this is the only restaurant I've ever been able to order Green Goddess dressing from speaks volumes about just how cool they are. Delicious, simple flavors and excellent ingredients make for very Good food. This restaurant uses all the right combinations in just the right amounts. Good's green chile mac n' cheese is amazing. It comes with a baked nacho top that adds just the right amount of crunch and texture to the gooey, spicy mac and cheese. This dish reminds me of something I'd be able to order in New Mexico - it's quite hard to find good green chile outside of that state. The flatbread prepared with bacon and arugala is a great appetizer as well. They also make a mean hot apple cider and their salads are delicious and fresh. Give Good a chance. Good things will come from your choice.

This restaurant was a random find based off of a google search, and I couldn't have asked for a better place! We started at the bar during the happy hour and everything we had to drink was amazing. I forget what mine was called but it tasted like I was drinking juice right out of a grapefruit. I will dream of that drink for weeks I'm sure! We had a group of 7 so we got a lot of starters to share. The chips and dip that ordered went around the table and came back empty... it was that good! The meal just got better when we got our entrees. The corn side that came with the fish tacos was amazing! My brother got it and I has to keep sneaking bites! I had the marinated steak, and it was perfect. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

This restaurant is one of my favorites in all of New York City. My friend and I have made it a point to come here once a month. It's conveniently located in West Village, the food is delicious, and the service is impeccable. The lights are dimmed (but not to where you need to put the candle up to the menu), and it creates a romantic atmosphere if that's what you are looking for. However, this is also semi-casual dining, so don't feel like you have to dress up to dine here. The steamed mussels are a must if you love seafood. At just $11, this is an appetizer you can't pass up. I have also had the roasted duck served over spaghetti squash (a special of the day, not on the menu). While a few pieces were a little tough, most were just perfectly tender. I could not believe how delicious (and affordable) it was. There is something on the menu for everyone. And I plan on trying as much as I can! TIP: Go for the Early Supper Special as advertised on Good Restaurant-Yelp page. It's an amazing deal...you do the math! :) OR Visit restaurant.com and purchase a $25 gift certificate for Good Restaurant for just $10 (or at times less, depending on their promotions). These certificates are valid for food purchases of $35 or more but cannot be combined with the Early Supper Special.

i really have an issue with businesses that express no creativity with their establishment names. when i was in elementary school, it was "the baby-sitter's club" (don't judge) whereas in high school, it was "the speech & debate club"* (i was the self-appointed spirit officer ... wait, how do i have friends?) ... now it's "good restaurant." for the most part, i get that they're trying to be clever, but where's the mystery ... the intrigue ... the drama? don't go giving it all away in the beginning! ya gotta make us suckers work for something. anywho, i came here for the first time in years a couple of fridays ago when my DC pal was in town. (on another note, hellooo, re-branding! hey, it's my job to notice that stuff ... again, how do i have friends?) we were supposed to go to little owl, but our little party of 3 expanded to a fiesta of 8, so we needed a new place quickly. after shelling out $325 on a root canal that should have been a "minor surgery" (thanks a bunch, aetna), i was pretty irritated when i arrived at 7:30PM sharp. a couple of bejamins poorer, i needed a drink. stat. with our little group crammed at a table that should have sat 6, we each ordered a cocktail a piece (repeat 3321x). my grey goose martini settled into my empty stomach and gave me that me the kinda buzz that would make a bris fun. from what i can remember, there was food ... as in a harvest salad and a flatbread pizza. yup, i ate it. i recall enjoying it as well. see, kids ... this is what your brain does on alcohol. now, get loaded and have some fun! good's ... well, pretty good. pun intended. no points for creativity for me or the restaurant, but at least those mofos are honest.

This place should change its name ... from GOOD to VERY GOOD, maybe even EXCELLENT! Went here for brunch on Sunday and was absolutely delighted with the food. The hand rolled orange donuts were terrific, as were the lemon ricotta pancakes (with mint-soaked strawberries on top) and the perfectly crispy smokehouse bacon. And I am still waxing poetic two days later over the biscuit with ham and jalepeno jelly. The place is tiny but charming. The service was friendly and efficient. Now I know why the place was packed!

I have a feeling Good is going to become my new brunch go to. The menu is pretty big and varied. There are tons of breakfast choices and tons of lunch choices. Perfect for me since I'm pretty fickle. I had the goddess salad and it was delicious. I don't know what type of bread the croutons were made out of but they were great. My friends had the breakfast burrito, the turkey club and sunny-side up eggs. Everyone was happy. We only waited about ten minutes which is key at 10:00 on a Saturday morning when you're hungover. Definitely will be frequenting this place.

Went to Good for breakfast on a Saturday morning andn luckily we were the first in line because it gets very crowded. Oh, and it doesn't open until 11am, so I guess it was more of brunch. Whatever the case, the pancakes were pretty good as was the coffee. And try the bread basket because their homemade biscuits rock. I know it's NY and all, but the price was a little much...$15 for pancakes! Are you kidding me? I'm more of a greasy spoon kind of guy, so not sure I would be a regular at Good.

WE went here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is a little "blah" but the food and service more than made up for it. Initially, I did not expect much because I was unimpressed with the bland decor. For starters, I had the Farro cucumber, tomato, red onion, goat cheese & arugula, drizzled with basil vinaigrette. Trult tasty! I followed with the egg scramble with goat cheese, tomatoes, and basil and it was absolutely delicious. The strange thing is, even though the menu is very clear that this is a warm scrambled egg dish, I misinterpreted it and was shocked to get a hot dish. I am not usually a fan of scrambled eggs, but this dish was tasty and cooked to perfection. I am not much of a sweets eater, but for dessert, I had 3 scoops of 3 different sorbets, which change upon availability. The prices were the best part -- these is one of the most affordable deals in NYC.

I had heard many good things about Good Restaurant but I have been dying to try the green chille mac and cheese and I will tell you I was not disappointed. the pasta was cooked al dente, just as it should be. My first bite was very flavorful with a nice little kick of heat right after. Not that crazy donkey kick of heat but a subtle warming sensation. Very pleasant. What I could not finish and it made a great late night snack later that evening. Service was great, my water glass was always refilled without asking and waitstaff was very attentive. I can't wait to go back for seconds.

One of the best brunches I've had in awhile. The French toast stuffed with cream cheese and banana was amazing and the passion fruit mimosa was the bomb. My friend had an omelet and it was very fluffy and delicious! Will be on my fav brunch place in West Village for sure!!!!

Good is simply GOOD! Well that's an understatement, it's really, really good. I took my boyfriend here on Saturday night for his birthday and everything was delicious. It wasn't too fancy, but it felt dressed up enough. The waiters were knowledgeable about the wine and menu and we each had something we really liked. He had the duck, I had the skirt steak. The flavors were pretty simple but everything blended very well. He also loved the chips and dip appetizer...he loves chips! We also had a crostini with ricotta, honey and basil that was delicious and didn't skimp on the ingredients. I'll definitely go there again! They brought out this chocolate/banana bread pudding with a little candle in it (and didn't make a big fuss singing Happy Birthday) which is exactly what we wanted. Definitely Good for a date night or with a small group of friends who enjoy good food and wine!

I went for Sunday brunch with two friends. Go before 10:30 as it does tend to start filling up by 11. Seriously good bread (cheddar cornbread, buttermilk biscuits, pear/pecan crumb cake) & frittatas. Not exceptional service, but not bad for a busy morning. If you say you need more time, though, you get ignored for a long time.

I'll go ahead with 5 stars based mostly on the meals (for 4) that we all had for dinner. Can't speak to the brunch, although it sounds quite good. I had veal-ricotta meatballs that were excellent and my girlfriend had the green chile macaroni and cheese. Let me not understate things by saying that this mac-'n-cheese dish was absolutely outstanding. Easily the most delicious variation on that dish that I've ever tasted. Drinks were very good and service was relatively fast despite how crowded the place was. Sometimes we had to wait a bit for our drinks but that was mainly due to the fact that there was only one bartender on a busy night. Lastly, on the subject of dessert. Lots of reviews about the orange and sour cream donuts and how wonderful they are. They are certainly good, but i'm not a big donut fan. Instead, i HIGHLY recommend the banana and chocolate bread pudding. Quite possibly one of the best desserts I've ever had. Try it out next time!

We showed up at ten am, right when the restaurant opened and asked for a table of ten. Done! We had to wait til everyone arrived, however, to be seated. We started with a trio of breads - fresh orange donuts, savory cornbread, and pear bread. Yum! I had the egg sandwich with carmelized onions (savory good) and my husband had the goat cheese and red pepper omelette (which was mediocre, flavorless and rapidly congealing). We were celebrating a friend's birthday and the restaurant brought out two desserts for us to share.

Good, Better, Best; never let it rest until the Good is better and the Better Best. What a great experience when walking around looking for a place to eat. Very low key, nice drink menu and delicious veal meatballs. Can I have another?

the brunch @ good was pretty good, however, i do have to say that the cleanliness of the place is questionable. i was sitting in the back of the restaurant and there must've been 3-4 flies in that area. i had to constantly move around my arms. it was def unappetizing.

Upon reading another one of nycfoodguy's reviews, my penis was salivating dreaming about this dish: nycfoodguy.com/2008/05/1… As there are no reservations here, we waited roughly 30min when we arrived at 1pm. We loitered at Starbucks next door (left of Good) for a bit until our name was called. When ordering, we were told that the freshly made doughnuts were going to take 15minutes but one of us didn't mind and ordered it anyway. I ordered the following: - Banana Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast topped with brown sugar, sliced bananas & maple syrup ($12.75) Let me tell you..this dish was HEAVENLY!!! You get four thick triangles of french toast. A bit softer on the inside than I expected but amazing in depth of flavor. Even the sliced bananas on top were fresh and aromatic. If I had it my way, I would have gone over the top with this dish by offering chocolate syrup poured over it. Regardless, I still jizzed harder than in my dreams after inhaling this. - with a side of Faicco's Chicken Breakfast Sausages (3 links for $4) - this was much leaner than D'artagnans but just as tasty...AWESOME! I also tried: - Hand-Rolled Orange Sour Cream Donuts (2 pcs/$3) - I was unimpressed with this actually...tasted cakey and was over fried on the outside (super dark brown outside, yellow inside) - Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with strawberries & maple syrup ($12) - the lemon made itself present without overwhelming the integrity of the pancakes - very flavorful and tasty. The strawberries were cut in half down the middle and placed over the pancakes. - Crisp Bacon Strips ($3.75) - we asked for them to be extra crispy. generous portions...roughly 8 strips of bacon in the order...very good! - The Goodmorning! ($9) vodka, kahlua & a shot of chilled espresso - very smooth! - this was SPECTACULAR!!!! I also heard my friend say that the the Passionfruit Mimosa (champagne, fresh orange juice & passionfruit puree) was excellent. Note: They run a brunch special where you can order an entree, a side, and a brunch cocktail for 19.95! Total w/ everything came out to $20/pp after everything I took my foodie meetup here: meetup.com/teamfoodie/ca…

The experience began with a 35-40 minute wait on a sunday morning for a table of four. It would have been alright but the staff said it would only be a 20 minute wait. Once we were seated though, everything was great. We'd decided what we wanted and the food came quickly enough. I had the special, which was an omlette with pea sprouts, apples which was layered over brie (a personal weakness!). It was DELICIOUS! A really interesting combination and a very creative combination. Definite thumbs up for the food, not so sure about the wait, but I guess everyone is there for a reason!

I went here last night with 10 friends to celebrate a birthday. I had the scallops, which were delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the birthday girl was pleased. The little things about this place make it great: the music level is just right so that it adds a nice vibe without being over powering and the service is friendly. I dare you to go here and not to use the adjective good in describing the food. :)

This place lives up to its name. Good. (but not Excellent.) Hey at least it's not falsely advertised. The reason why I went was because it was a card in my Diner's Deck. Otherwise I never would've discovered this place. I've been thrice, one for weekend brunch and twice for dinner. Both times, it was, well.. good. For brunch, I think you get a good deal.. their portions are large and filling, food is tasty and memorable in that reliable comfort food sort of way. I had pancakes, bacon, english breakfast tea and potatoes which is what I always get whenever I go to brunch. I loved the brunch here, really low key and great for a lazy weekend. My good brunch encouraged me to return for dinner. As usual portions always generous. Prices, very reasonable. I had the flatbread pizza on the appetizer as an entree and it was very good, very light, flavorful dinner. My 2nd dinner, I had the scallops - really really good. Their hailed mac and cheese, I thought to be very bland. Their desserts.. they try but they're just ok. So yeah, again. Go to Good for a comforting, quiet, meal that is what it is, good.

Green chile mac 'n' cheese and a doughnut dessert (real doughnuts, lightly deep fried and delicious) to die for. Not only do I love the food, but the lunch menu is considerably cheaper than dinner, but with basically the same selections. It's a perfect stop for tasty non-pretentious eats when wandering between the WV and Chelsea.

Went with my friend with our Restaurant.com savings ticket...pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was chill, the drinks at Happy Hour were original and tasty, and dinner was SUPERB. Stick to seasonal and you won't be disappointed. We split the Squash Blossom Starter (oooohhh...pancetta!), and I had the Skirt Steak (DIVINE) while my friend had the seasonal scallop dish (she's still talking about it!). We treated ourselves to dessert...tasty but nothing original. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a West Village spot for a leisurely dinner. I'd love to go back for lunch!

okay, this place would've gotten five stars b/c the price, portion and food was great... there were 8 of us on a sunday and we made reservations... it seemed like there was only 1 waiter and he ignored us most of the time... we had to flag him down at least 4 or 5 times... the saving grace was the food... omg.. the food... we got to try: apps: steamed mussels, flatbread pizza, crispy oysters, harvest salad entree: skirt steak, goodburger (everybody loved the skirt steak) i'd go back but hopefully there'll be more than one waiter next time...

This place is amazing. I went here with some girlfriends two weeks ago and we unanimously decided they should rename the place "Really Really Good". I had the pre fixe brunch which comes with your choice of Bloody Mary or Passion Bellini (delish). Somehow I managed to devour a vegetarian friendly omelet with spicy home fires, a mixed greens salad and two of the most flavorful lemon pancakes I have ever had. I of course washed it down with ladylike cup of tea and a diva like Passion Bellini (did I already say yum). Bill only came to $29 bucks which for the brunch of this magnitude in the city, made me really happy. Get there early, with time to be hungry, cuz the line is legit on the weekend. I am pretty sure that's how the Starbucks next door gets all it's business, as the Good waiting room. Otherwise, you can chill on the street for about 40 minutes while watching others enjoy the fare. Oh yeah, and the waiter was cool. It was the day after Halloween, so I know his head must have hurt, but he put up with our party, substitutions and all. A very very enthusiastic five stars. I even took a business card so I would remember to tell people about it.

This place looked amazing when I was strolling by last summer. It was a sunny Saturday morning, everyone was eating outside, and their plates of food looked perfectly cooked and delicious. Fast forward six months and I'm back in Manhattan, going to brunch with my girlfriend and we show up here. It wasn't as good as I hoped. I had the basil and goat cheese egg scramble over sourdough with roasted tomatoes & asparagus. It was bland. My girlfriend ordered "migas," eggs scrambled with crisp corn tortillas, peppers, onions & cilantro. It was really good! I couldn't help but eat her leftovers. Oh, and the orange juice was REALLY good! Given the food, I'd give it almost 4 stars for brunch, but the service was very poor (slow, rude, often ignored) so I settle on 3 stars. It's a good standard brunch place though, and I hope the bad service we received was an anomaly (it seemed so). Get the Migas!

I came in for brunch and was simply disappointed with what I got. I had eggs and the spiced potatoes. The eggs were overly salted, peppered and almost raw, while the potatoes were delicious. The service was the only good thing, besides not having to wait for a table.

Good is the right word. Actually, the atmosphere there is better than good -- really friendly bar area with outdoor seating, especially enticing on a warm weather day. The food is more debatable. I'm usually a huge scallops fan but I really did not care for the ones served here. The sauce was too heavy and the scallops were overcooked. On the other hand, the burger seemed to lack flavor and had a strange texture. Avoided these items on my second go and had better success with the veal meatballs and mac n' cheese. Then again, definitely took a hit in the health category for the better taste. Dessert is a skip in my opinion - you're better off taking a short stroll to St Ambreous. I'd go back in a bind, but would opt for something great over good.

I had brunch here on New Year's Day, and the food was really enjoyable. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the service. We tried their home made donuts (which are pretty damn heavy - you've been warned), and then had the basil and feta scramble. It was super fresh, super tasty, and totally enjoyable. The only issue was the rather neglectful service: they didn't bring us the orange juice we had ordered, my coffee and water sometimes went empty for quite a while, and everything just seemed to take a while. Granted, it may have been because it was busy from New Year's brunchers. Given the enjoyable food, I'll definitely be giving it another try when the crowd is a little more tame.

It wasn't great and really wasn't even good. The dinner was bland and unimpressive. They have also ran out of bread (?!?!?!) as in "sorry we normally do serve bread, but we ran out" The desert was below-average as well. For $25 a dish, this one is not worth it even if it was $15.

Surprised to see people bagging on Good because it gets crowded. We do live in NYC after all, not Omaha. I've never waited more than 30 mins, and the crowd provides some good people watching opportunities....you may even get a chance to Star F*ck by spotting a local celeb. The menu is very well rounded and comfortable with new american / mexican influences. Basil and goat cheese egg scramble is a must try. They have excellent chicken sausage that they make themselves as well as lemon ricotta pancakes and egg sandwiches with caramelized onions & field greens. For NYC I wouldn't consider it to be any more expensive than other brunch spots of comparable quality. Absolutely recommended....get involved!

this restaurant is self-explanatory...it's good. seriously. went for saturday brunch, and surprisingly, we were seated right away. the space is small, but quaint and cozy. the staff were all very friendly. everything on the menu looked delicious (especially to my growling stomach), and since i have a tendency to crave savory foods over sweets, i opted for the basil and goat cheese egg scramble. it was served over toasted sourdough bread...and this combination was delectable! looking forward to round 2, 3, etc. soon!

I adore breakfast, brunch, and anything in between but rarely am I impressed by anything claiming to be such. Good is phenom! For once, I was served actual soft scrambled eggs, instead of crusty fried egg remnants. When I went this past weekend, the decor was farmhouse cute , the staff was pleasant and accommodating and the bloody marys were strong enough to keep my good food buzz lasting throughout the day. With only a 20 min wait, I'd recommend bringing any loved one here for a truly memorable brunch.

i took a friend here for her birthday dinner and had been drooling over the description of the Good Burger for weeks. we started out with ricotta gnocchi, which was gross -- it was tough and had no flavor and well, not worth it so i would not recommend this to anyone. Now for the entree, the Good Burger is stuffed with bbq pulled pork, smoked mozzarella and topped with caramelized onions and let me tell you -- it was INCREDIBLE! even though they overcooked my burger i was still very happy and this comes from someone who doesn't even like pulled pork or bbq sauce! they also give you a side of bbq sauce so you can pour your desired amount over the burger -- my mouth is watering just thinking about the burger. it was also HUGE! i mean you have to cut it in half and then it's still hard to eat but i made sure to get down (almost) every bite. now on to the fries, quite possibly the best fries i've eaten since going to amsterdam. seriously, the fries are fresh cut and perfectly seasoned so there's not need to add any extra salt or pepper -- and the fries are so delicious you don't even need condiments, although i still dipped some of the fries in mayonnaise (i just can't help myself), it was delicious even without! then came dessert -- warm chocolate chip banana bread pudding -- it was quite scrumptious and we also got the chocolate espresso homemade donut with butterscotch pudding! YEAH, this was the ultimate i was in a food coma by the time i left this place and we're already planning our next dinner there -- it is that GOOD! the waiter could have been more attentive, he actually never came over to the table once to ask how our dishes were and had a bit of an attitude, so hopefully he'll be nicer next time because for me a truly wonderful experience includes good, friendly service and good food -- so yes Good has GOOD food but in terms of the service, i can only speak to the one waiter we had -- it was NOT GOOD SERVICE but i'll be back and hopefully not having the same waiter serve us.

Happy hour - great wine at just $5... Brunello de Montepulciano. Get there before 7 PM! Follow that with fig and ricotta crostini. Just delicious. Simple and stunning. Fresh breads - a pumpkin cornbread and rosemary bread that were quite nice. Then - Fish Tacos. Nice, but little messy to eat. Delicious corn salsa. My friend had the green chile Mac & Cheese. Delicious but filling with 1/3 of a portion. Finally - a shared order of donuts. Very original..donuts freshly made, with whipped cream and fresh orange marmalade on the side. Donuts were heavier than I typically like (but I'm a Krispy Kreme girl), but getting fresh made donuts bought to your table is a fun idea. We rolled ourselves out of the restaurant happy and full!

Good gets 3.5 stars. The wait was very very long (I was prepared for 1/2 hour but this was more like 1 hr, and at 1pm). The place is very cute and the service was also great. The food left quite a bit to be desired though. My husband had the lemon ricotta pancakes which he didn't really care for. I had the Migas which were good but needed much more salsa than they came with. We also started with the basket of 3 types of bread and weren't really impressed with any. The area is very cute and we walked by Elephant &Castle - I think we'll be going there for our next brunch.

I came here for a my friend's birthday. There were probably 10 of us so we definitely made a reservation. Otherwise, the venue is pretty inimate and there aren't many large tables for big parties. For appetizers, we ordered the warm duck confit with butternut squash(this was really good), and the flatbread pizza(this was also really good). For my main dish, I ordered the green chile mac and cheese. Boy, was this a heapy bowlful of yummy goodness. It had a nice crunch from the toasted almonds..it was cheesy.. and it had a good kick with the green chile. It wasn't spicy to be spicy.. but the green chile enhanced the cheese really well. The portion is pretty generous and could be split with another person. For our sides, we ordered the chickpea fries, which were good, but I've had better.. they looked more like fried tofu cubes. We also got the brussell sprouts with apple cider vinegar, I thought these were pretty good..however they are no Alta brussel sprouts. For beverages, I had the watermelon martini, which was great. They used fresh watermelon juice. I also had a glass of the Austrian white wine which was more like a riesling, but not as sweet. For dessert, we split the warm banana chocolate chip bread pudding, it wasn't the traditional bread pudding in a cup but it was was still good.

There are things about this brunch place that will knock your socks off: +The corn arepas are nutty-sweety-cheesy. Never had arepas before, but i'm glad I popped my cherry here. +The Chipotle Mary is better than my own Bloody Mary...touche! The Passion Fruit Mimosa is phenomenal. And there are other things that are just wrong and dirty and bad: -The orange sour cream doughnuts are obviously fried in the same frydaddy that everything else is fried in. Tasted orange sour creamy, with distinctive hints of meat! MMMMMM. -The blaring muzaak. Nuf said. -The decor, which seems to be the physical manifestation of Muzaak. -The fact that we were told approximately 15 times that the kitchen was about to close for dinner prep and we better get our shit together quick or we would be goin' hungry this afternoon. Despite the fact that the food in general was good (and the drinks FANTASTIC), I don't think I would go out of my way to return to this cheeseball joint.

Food was pretty decent. I went with the old reliable aged cheddar burger that I asked for medium but came out medium rare, friend had the pizza bianche where the crust was slightly burnt, otherwise still good and my other friend had the veal meatballs that was also decent but kind of salty. It kind of took a long time to come out. They certainly took their sweet time with the dessert, the donuts with the orange marmalade... it was pretty good. The donuts were slightly crispy and flake on the outside and soft and crumbly inside, you can add the orange and real whipped creamed to it that comes on the side. Decent but can't say I was really blown away.

Enjoyed brunch here with my family. Recommend the goodBread Basket to sample the different "breads"...for me it was too hard to choose a favorite just looking at the menu. The waiter was great, but the supporting staff came off as not-friendly because they didn't really know the specials and were more focused at delivering things to the table than making it a pleasurable experience for the guest. I was most impressed with the breakfast burrito. Most breakfast burrito's seem like 2 dishes...an egg thing and a tortilla. This burrito ate like a seamless dish and was soft, moist and fresh throughout with a good combination of ingredients. The french toast also was amazing and reminded me of a childhood dish I had with sour cream, brown sugar and fruit. It would be interesting to serve the toast with strawberries during the summer.

GREEN CHILI MAC & CHEESE is soo sooo sooo GOOD! craveworthy. dreamworthy. i miss it. i dream about it. it's so good. i wish i was eating it RIGHT NOW. it's not in the pre-fix lunch which kinda bites but overall, it's so tasty that i don't even care. the rest of the food is moderately to very tasty.

Fun and busy brunch place that is worth the wait - esp. if you're into Latin-inspired brunch fare. We waited for about 20 minutes before grabbing some seats at the tiny bar section. The cornmeal arepas con huevos were a delicious balance to the passion fruit mimosa that made me a little tipsy. The cornmeal had a thick and semisweet texture that made it hard to resist. The goat cheese and basil scramble was good as well. Service was pretty good, and the food came out quickly. They don't mess around at Good when it comes to portions. Both the breakfast burrito and eggs/pancake dish were bigger than my face - and I have a pretty big face.

The "supper menu" here is an amazing deal! Unlike most prix fixe specials, here you can order anything from the menu in each major food category (appetizer & entree &/or dessert) for only $20 ($25 if you'd like dessert)! Considering there are several entrees that are over $20, this is such a great deal! You have to come in between 6pm-7pm, but if you're in the area, this is a can't miss deal. The food is very tasty and well-made. I ordered the special soup du jour, cream of winter squash which was very tasty and had nice bits of squash still in it. The rigatoni was good (in a porccini tomato sauce with a beautiful glob of ricotta on top), and the warm cornbread made me happy. My friend really enjoyed her skirt steak, and we were both fans of her salmon corn nuggets. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and helpful--he also gave me a free half glass of wine, just so I could decide if I wanted to end up ordering it or not (I did--lovely chardonnay blend). Altogether, a lovely time!

I have to disagree with the negative reviews and strongly support Barbara's review that 1) the food here is really good and 2) the supper menu deal (6-7pm M-F) is AMAZING. Overall, we tried the flatbread pizza (one of my favorites), the warm calamari salad (good, but not my fave), fish tacos (I'm kinda in love with them), and veal meatballs. All the portions were generous enough that we felt stuffed by the end. I also appreciate that the staff was very friendly and didn't make me feel stupid when I presented a Restaurant.com certificate, which is not valid for use on the supper menu. They happily re-priced our meals for a la carte, but I'd definitely come back sometime for the supper menu. Like Barbara C points out, many entrees are over $20 already, so it's like paying a couple extra bucks for a fantastic appetizer. You can make reservations through the restaurant's website, but not OpenTable. That's my only real complaint because OpenTable is my secret lover.

Really great on lunch delivery - the food is always fresh and tasty and the people on the phone have always been helpful and friendly. I'm in love with the grilled cheese and when I have a hankering for a burger and fries, this place has my favorite. It's always big and juicy... Would definitely try this place in person.

I'd actually give Good Restaurant a 3.5 review for their brunch. The food was just decent, nothing over the top but I'd come back again to try other dishes. I was really craving grilled cheese so I tried theirs with a bowl of their clam chowder. It was an OK soup, nothing great and a very large portion of grilled cheese...it almost had, dare I say, too much cheese?!? I come from the school of 'one can never have too much cheese', but this just may have. But it still was very tasty and very crispy, which I like. My friend had the mac and cheese and hers was the clear winner of the two. Her mac and cheese left me craving it so bad I had to go out and get some elsewhere the following day! Service was good, nothing overwhelming and only a 35 minute wait on a Saturday for brunch, which is always nice. All in all a decent meal and I will try it again someday, other dishes I saw come out looked really good.

Went to Good for dinner last night and am still recoveing from waking up at 5 am with terrible stomach pain. Decided to go there with two friends since we heard the mac and cheese was awesome. We all ordered it and disliked it. If you do not like cilantro, DO NOT ORDER this. It is full of cilantro. The mac and cheese comes with greens (wilted) in a terrible asian dressing of some sort. The dressing did not go with the mac and cheese at all. $17 dollars for mac and cheese is ridiculous in the first place. Bartender was kind of bitchy but the waitress was nice. I will never go here again, its not worth the money. If you want great mac and cheese as well as elegant comfort food, go to Nolita house. It's better and cheaper. My leftovers are going in the garbage by the way.

Why the long lines for brunch?! I didn't get it. Food was not very tasty. It seems like they push hard for fancy presentation and combining unique flavors but it just wasn't appetizing. I had the buttermilk biscuits (which were overcooked and not very fluffy) and country ham scramble. The tomato sauce the scramble came in dominated the flavor (it tasted like having scrambled eggs drenched in a can of tomato sauce). The chicken sausage was dry and perhaps the worst I've had. I don't mean to sound too negative (as you can see by my reviews I do enjoy most the of places I eat) but I was thoroughly disappointed by the food given the line and prices. To end things on a bright note, the service was friendly and solid.

cute little place, the menu had one of my favorite foods, FISH TACOS!! so I had to order it. it was pretty tasty but if you've ever had fish tacos on the west coast, it just doesn't come close. the cocktail menu was short but I had a nice watermelon and lemonade martini that was pretty good but lacked the "kick" u want from a martini. the service was ehhhh, waiter barely smiled and seemed to not be engaged in his job.

Something for everyone! The brunch menu is fantastic. It's great to eat outside on the bustling Greenwhich Ave and enjoy a yummy meal! The migas were very tasty and the GoodBreakfast is an excellent option if you want to try all they have to offer.

Good was a nice experience. I went with a group of friends and every meal was tasty. We went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was pretty full, but if you are looking for a fun crowd you will not find that here. This restaurant is perfect for a nice meal and good conversation..pretty good prices too!

My expectations fell short on this one. I was excited to try the pancakes and the french toast after looking at the menu. I went with the pancakes and chicken sausage. They were average and didn't really impress. I tried a bite of the banana cream cheese french toast and it didn't strike me either. On a positive note, the breads we ordered (orange doughnuts, biscuits and cheddar cornbread) were all really good.

Do not eat at the bar here unless you want bad service or you want to eat with the staff in the middle of service. What a shame!!! A hostess sat next to us (when she could have sat a bit farther down) and intruded on what was really good food. Service here was disappointing compared to the food which was great. Other than the bar mishap, it is annoying when servers are trying to clear your plates while you have food in your mouth or your fork is in your hand. Incorrect drink was brought out. We opted out of the bread baskets which may have been a shame. I asked the waiter if the specials were inlcuded in the brunch deal and he said yes. Later I found that not be true and worse, some perky suburban waitress did not handle it great. I would give it a go again to see if the mishaps were a fluke. Also, sitting guests at a dirty setting is diner like. Don't look for polish here but a meal. Hence, I think Good has to be better.

OK, my hubby and I went for date night and we tend to go out early so it made it even better b/c of their "early bird" special, see below. Good is a smallish restaurant (which I prefer), we had a minor celeb spotting and we had AMAZING service! The food was fantastic. We started w/ Mussels and the Green Goddess Salad, both were fantastic and perfect size portions. Then the hubby had the 1/2 Roast Chicken w/ cous cous w/ squash, dates and onions, he was sooo very happy, the chicken was delish!!! I had the Scallops, that came w/ tempura style asparagus and a delicious dipping sauce (lemon, herb aioli), again delish! It was all so yummy and so nice! We finished off our meal w/ WARM BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP BREAD PUDDING vanilla ice cream - caramel sauce! So amazing, the banana's were a bit firm, but I liked it that way. We really liked the special they ran, as an "early bird" 6 - 7pm M - F, two items $23, three items, I believe $28. I have heard not so great things about standing on huge lines for brunch, but I am definitely going to try it!!

This is tough to review. The food was delicious for dinner and great place for a double date... not too big, great ambience, great choices and even the mac n cheese and skirt steak is to die for... HOWEVER, Paul, our waitress was horrible. Drinks were empty, never came to our table enough, took tables orders around us who sat after us than, and focused on his friends who sat at the table next to us... He even forgot to place a app.. big disappointment, AND he even left his shift in the middle of serving us... One other point, it was my bf's bday, so I called ahead to bring cupcakes... the person on the phone said that's acceptable, but when I arrive, they tell me it's $3 per plate... meaning $3 PER CUPCAKE FROM CRUMBS THAT I ALREADY PAID $4 FOR... I mean tell me that on the phone that there would be a fee, and I'd just have purchased a dessert, NO PROBLEM. Moreover, are you serious that you'd put each cupcake on it's own plate.. rather than just shove it on one plate... Just ridiculous... ANYWAY, yes, Good is good food, but the service is SH%T.

I went here for lunch because my boss said so. I had the lunch special which was a soup and an entree. They started me off with a mushroom soup which I thought tasted a bit bland. It needed more seasoning. Then I ordered the green chili macaroni and I was blown away. It was very good with just the right amount of kick to wake you back up from a mediocre work day. My coworker had the grilled chicken with a side salad and she said it was decent. I'll take her word on it, while I eat my tasty green dish. My boss ordered the banana bread pudding with the vanilla ice cream and it was delicious. The bread pudding has a very light consistency and it just melted away in your mouth. I enjoyed it very much and I hope to come back to try the brunch. The service was good, but I think my boss was a bit demanding on the wait staff which they handled very well.

Amazing food... Arrived on a Sunday, without reservations, around 11:30am. We were meeting friends around noon but figured there would be a wait so we arrived early to put our names in. At this point there was about a 25 minute wait for a party of 4. We couldn't be seated without all of us there but were seated within 5 minutes after our party was complete. Service was quick and the waiter was very knowledgeable! I got their banana cream cheese stuffed french toast - HUGE but delicious! I got 2 full slices (4 halves) along with a sliced banana on the side and brought 2 home as left overs. None of us had any issues with our food - it was just amazing. Only thing was that the prices for the side dishes seemed pricey - my fiance ordered the bacon and got 2 slices for $4. A side of pancakes (2) is $5. Otherwise all the meal options are reasonably priced! They also have a "prix fixe" option for $21 - any breakfast entree, side or bread, alcoholic drink. I'll definitely be coming back!

I once came to Good on this date that felt much more like an interview, that kind of interview where a few minutes in, you realize you really don't want the job in the first place. Despite the situation, I was happy to re-focus my energy on the french fries and good-burger. I've also enjoyed the food the other times I went - especially the grilled salmon and salad of crispy peanut chicken.....so, what I want to say is good is great, even when the company isn't . . .

Came here for Sunday brunch. As others have mentioned, the service is really something else. Many other crowded brunch spots on weekends are full of scowling or otherwise irritated servers and hosts. We came here as 4 adults and one small child in a stroller and the hostess and staff were incredibly accommodating with securing for us enough space for the stroller. I also never had to ask for a coffee refill, which can be really annoying at some places- the servers are very attentive. The food, although not creatively mind-blowing, was tasty and the portions are large. Don't get me wrong, the pear pecan crumbcake was kind of addicting and the cheddar cornbread disappeared immediately. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals and thoroughly liked the place. I would say that their smoked salmon platter could use at least capers or something else- it was a little unimaginative although the baguette was good. The others in my party had the "good breakfast" and the breakfast burrito and seemed to like what they had. Other orders we saw looked pretty delicious, so when I come back I'd be curious to try some other dishes. Would recommend, especially if you want to experience some genuinely great service in the city.

Any rating that wasn't 5 stars means the person didn't get the green chile macaroni and cheese. It is hands down the best mac and cheese in the city.

good brunch, although gets really crowded. The menu has a mexican touch but I usually end up getting some form of the pancakes which are very good. Others in my crowd tend to get the omlettes and enjoy that as well. Much of what detracts from the experience is all too typical for manhattan brunch spots - ie the Crowds!! oh well, its up to whether its worth a 1/2 hr or so wait on the sidewalk or not... have not been here for dinner yet.

Came here for brunch/lunch over the weekend and food and atmosphere was very NY brunch-like. Similar to other popular weekend brunch spots, there was about a 30-40 min wait on Saturday peak hours, but I liked the mini bar area where you can grab some juice/coffee, bar snack while you wait! As for the food, the portions are pretty generous.... the "Good Breakfast" is nice since you get a little bit of everything: some pancakes, sausage/bacon, eggs and toast. I saw a lot of people getting the breakfast burrito - it looked huge and really good! The lemon donuts are definitely worth trying (probably not very good for your waistline though....) - it tastes a little bit like lemon cake but more buttery..... For drinks, you should ask the server what their daily special juice is. I don't think it comes up as an option on the menu, but if you ask, they usually have a pretty good mixed juice of the day. I had guava, pineapple and something else..... quite tasty.

good restaurant is one of those places where one can easily giggle at its name. i've heard good is pretty good - well it better be! and so on. last night, we wanted to go to something completely unfussy for dinner. we sat outside, which was nice until we realized that there is a subway line underneath us. we had to pause conversation each time one went by {although, by my second glass of gruner veltliner, i just talked over it}. the inside is much cosier, and on a cooler night, is perfectly charming. the restaurant absolutely lives up to its name: solid food - nothing that wow-ed, but nothing that disappointed. a fine, easy neighborhood joint. bread: worth a mention. there is some nicely seasoned foccacia, but the real winner was a jalapeno cornbread. yum! butter is better in snazzy cornbread, on my book. apps: we both got the special soup - french lentil with crispy onions. the soup reminded me of an interpretation of mujadarra {a lebanese dish made of french lentils, rice, onions}. it was done very well, the portion was manageable. it was, you know, good. main: i got another special appetizer for my main - smoked salmon with oranges and avocado {i'm a sucker for smoked salmon and avocado in any form} - and a side of green beans with walnut pesto. the salad was fine - i could have made it at home, and the fish wasn't the best quality i've had {that award, mes amis, goes to blue ribbon bakery on downing street}. but it satisfied, especially with a little side of arugula. the green beans were nice and crisp - and i loved the walnut pesto {will re-create shortly}, especially soaking it up with what was left of that cornbread. bottom line: good restaurant is fine. we felt like eating out last night, but didn't want anything crazy, and good certainly delivered on that. don't expect your socks to be blown off, but expect a nice, reasonable meal.

Good food, not great. The dishes have more of a southern inspiration, creative, but nothing is exceptional. Their brunches draw quite a crowd and the sidewalk is packed with people waiting for tables. The desserts are okay - the bread pudding was inconsistently warmed up and was both warm and cold at the same time. I really wanted to love this place since it's so convenient, but both times I've been here, it's been a disappointment. The staff is friendly which helps, but the food is a bit disappointing.

We came for drinks and burgers and though the place is cute and intimate, service was on the mediocre side. The host was a little impatient and once we were seated, it was clear our waiter was stressed out. The dining area, though small, only had two waiters and it was clear they were understaffed. At 10PM on a Saturday night, Good was still packed, which was reassuring but unfortunate in terms of acoustics. All we could hear over our late night meal was the buzz and chatter of a group of European tourists sitting across from us. Still, here's what I will say about my meal. Cocktails were delicious and fries were addictive. The much raved about good burger-- stuffed with pulled pork and mozzarella-- really wasn't all that. Prices are area-standard, meaning $10 for drinks and about $14-$20 for entrees. I do not think I will revisit because there are other similar New American restaurants with better food in the area... this type of restaurant is a dime a dozen but if are in the area and craving a boisterous atmosphere and tasty cocktails, Good restaurant may be your answer.

I was there for brunch on a day the restaurant was understaffed so the chef had to do everything, including waiting on our table. He is such a pleasant guy, he took very good care of us....and best of all, the food is delicious. Everything on the menu sounds appealing. The egg and goat cheese was all I could ask for for brunch. And they have outdoor seating?! Totally worth the hype-try it!!

Came for brunch and was underwhelmed. You have a lot to live up to if you name your restaurant "Good". I had the cream cheese french toast and it was not bad - nothing here is BAD - but it was trying to be too much. There were too many flavors going on. I'd go back, but I was disappointed.

The green chile mac n jack cheese is to die for! It has a wonderful tortilla crumb crust and just the right spiciness. This alone is reason enough to eat at this place. The migas are very good as well. One thing to keep in mind though is while it's reasonably priced for brunch/lunch, the average item price jumps up pretty high for dinner. The food is very good though, just don't go with friends looking for a cheap meal.

My, oh my, that was Good! After striking out on a number of brunch places that were "supposed" to be great or just random places that looked great, I finally hit one that was worth it. They have the simple (my egg sandwich) to the adventurous (some sort of vanilla or lemon pancakes, and breakfast burrito contraptions). Service, price, food...all solid. Not too spacious outdoors, but sitting outdoors in the summer on a nice day is always good nonetheless...no pun intended, of course.

Puns abound at this stylish West Village eatery: "How is everything? Good!" "Where'd you eat? Good. How was it? ... Good!" And truth be told, it is Good! Especially for Brunch, which is, admittedly the only meal I've eaten there. Standard Brunch-ey fair with a decidedly Mexican influence. Nothing blew me away, but I was very happy. Always a Good option (somone stop me...please!!) in the W. Village.

This and Otto are the two restaurants I have found myself consistently going to. I normally try to always try out new restaurants but I feel a comfort level with brunch here. There is always a wait on the weekends. Usually 20-30 minutes for 3 people. I always get the GoodBreakfast or if I am feeling up for a morning cocktail I go with the GoodBrunch. The meal is very filling and it is the perfect West Village brunch spot to take people. I have been here four times in the past 6 months which makes this and Otto officially my most-visited sit-down restaurants in NYC. It usually ends up being about $23 per person if you get a coffee and a GoodBreakfast. I always want to get an Green Chile Mac and Cheese as well but I think that is $15 so if you add that to your breakfast it adds up. I would love if it ended up being $15 per person but I am okay with the prices because I have always left satisfied and always come back for more.

stopped in for drinks and a nosh with a freind on the patio. we found good to be good. not great, not bad... good. that said, the menu was intruiguing and they offer a prix fixe that looks like a steal... so, dear good, 3 stars is enough to bring me back for a meal... and when i do... perhaps i too will be moved enough to claim good to be great... until then. 3 stars = good.

Best breakfast sandwich i've ever had. hands down. go for brunch, bear with the wait, and try to score an outside table if the sun is out. just good casual breakfast food...

Good is the West Village version of Blue Plate. Down home meals dressed up. If you pop-in for no other reason than the green chile macaroni and cheese with fresh cilantro and a tortilla crumb crust, your trip will have been worth it! We moved away from NYC over a year ago and my husband still talks about this dish. Perfect for ordering in on a freezing cold winter night. I would go for the green goddess salad with pecorino cheese and cornbread croutons, but could never resist a bite (or five!) of his mac & cheese.

Though a little pricey ($15-$25 per entree), and the mint in the mojitos was chopped a little too big, Good defiantly lived up to it's name. The food is bright and is great when you want to wake up your mouth. I had a dish of three sides. But my favorite was the bowl of green chili macaroni and cheese my table split. It was spicy, and cheesy and had a tortilla crust on top. Three things that make any dish great!

I ate lunch here this summer. My friend and I sat outside and enjoyed an unexpected great lunch. We started with some margaritas and we both ordered different salads. My goatcheese salad was perfect with chunks of warm goat cheese with crunchy walnuts. My friend loved her cobb salad. The service was good and the price was reasonable.
