I have been living in this neighborhood for 8 years, yet I only visited this establishment for the first time yesterday, all because I had an urgent craving for chow fun (stir-fried broad rice noodles). I called to place my pick-up order and I asked for a small beef chow fun with low oil, low salt, and no msg. When I picked up my order, it was cooked exactly to my satisfaction and it tasted quite good! I usually don't order from Chinese take-out restaurants, but I will definitely be going back when the craving strikes again =)

I love Peking House! Their food is always fresh and I've never had an issue with delivery. They are my favorite spot in JH. I always customize my order for shrimp fried rice. I pay extra for egg and I ask them to add carrots, peas and bean sprouts. No onions. The shrimp is always fresh, meaty and clean. You don't always find clean shrimp. I have yet to be disappointed.

If you want fast good Chinese, this is your spot. $6 chicken & Broccoli with soda is a deal and the employees are very friendly and will accomdate to your liking. This is no place to take a date its either take out or they have a few tables to eat there. Certainly hits the chinese craving. Only downside like many Jackson Heights places it's cash only but on the positive side you get way for your money here.

Hungry today after my gym so I called ahead for some grub. I called and spoke to Tom Tom. I placed my usual order, chicken with mixed vegetables over brown rice. I added the egg roll and made it into the dinner combo. Let me tell you it is a great tasty dish. The chicken was moist and plump. The veg were glaze and crunchy. The brown sauce works over the brown rice. The portion was big. Couldn't finish it so it will be my brown bag for tomorrow.

Sorry, Forgot to sign in wrote a glowing review. Had to sign in before sending review. LOST THE DA___ REVIEW!! Fix the darn site so we do not lose our comments. Truly annoying. THAT SAID.................Been using "NEW" Peking Kitchen since it was OLD!! Here over 30+ years and love the place!! Best food around regardless of ethnicity........

Exactly what a Chinese to-go place should be. Greasy, cheap, good, hangover killer. It seems like we get 10 new menus for similar places in our lobby each week. I've tried most of them, and always come back to Peking. If you want gourmet and you order from here, you're obviously a dope. If you want fried rice of lo mein or beef w/ broccoli or fried dumplings or hot and sour soup or or or... then this is your jam. On the phone they are easy to understand and understand you (not always the case at other similar establishments) and they are always friendly, including the delivery guys (also not always the case). One complaint, no crab rangoon. Wha?!?

Ok, this shit is the real deal. At first, I was like, I don't like the atmosphere and walked out. I mean, it's nothing to look at. Then I realized I was just hangry and should probably get over myself. The Kung Pao was so good, I kept stealing bites while my boyfriend wasn't looking. (Ok, he was looking and probably incredibly annoyed.) It's not going to get points for being healthy. You are going to retain water like a champ after shoveling down their fried rice, but it's worth it.

I ordered for delivery, and was disappointed. the only thing i like was the egg drop soup. the boneless rib was terrible. and the fried chicken was dry and to hard, like if it was there for a day or two, I couldn't eat it. Last time I order from here.

  • Jocelyn B.

Yuck. I've eaten in scores of Chinese restaurants in my lifetime and this one is near the bottom. I know that this kind of place isn't meant to be gourmet but this was as bad as or worse than mall Chinese. Too much sugar, too much corn starch. and overcooked vegetables just don't appeal to me. I gave it two or three chances and I don't think I'll be back.

Decent. Recently started ordering from here. It's the best Chinese food in the vicinity of Corona/Jackson Heights/Flushing. Yes..even Flushing. The portions are decent. Had the beef chow fun, wonton soup, ribs, boneless ribs, General Tso's chicken and no complaints. The lowmein was a little soggy but edible. The delivery is very fast. If you pick up your food. Good customer service when picking up in person.

(New) Peking Kitchen is, by far, my favorite take-out spot in the JH/Woodside/Elmhurst area. The service is super friendly and ridiculously fast-with the kitchen churning out 2 orders a minute. (The delivery times are also pretty quick). The large staff here always seem to be enjoying themselves. They're also always willing to accommodate customers (yay, extra spicy-extra crispy sesame chicken!) requests. Cash only!

The food is meh here. I'd normally give it two stars based on previous experiences. But this last visit... my mother warned me that the last time she ate here, she got an upset stomach. I went ahead and got take-out regardless. MooShu pork. Aaaaaand, while I hesitate to claim food poisoning with a similar viral bug going around, I sure did experience a whole lot of gastro-intestinal distress after eating this food. Horrific. I was surprised to see so many positive reviews. I, however, will not be chancing it again next time I'm in the neighborhood.

I usually come here to do some take out at lunch time and always gets the same thing " Chicken Broccoli with Pork Fried Rice and Hot & Sour Soup. The lunch special is very cheap and get a big potion of food. But don't order something with noodle !!!!!!! Very oily and no taste !!!!!

So yes this a hole in the wall Chinese spot and yes the food is greasy and non nutritional what so ever but it actually tastes good. Speedy delivery, like I called 10 minutes ago and it's already here which is scary and pleasant. It is my go to Chinese around the way when I'm extremely lazy and don't want to cook.

Peking Kitchen is pretty much my neighborhood, go to spot for when I've got a Chinese take-out food craving. I'm super-duper consistent when it comes to Chinese take-out and thus I normally get the same dishes. Things I've been pleased by here include their sweet and sour chicken/white rice (I normally order a pint, trust me - totally enough for one starving person or 2 people with "munchies"), shrimp with lobster sauce & white rice (my pint statement from before also stands here!), ribs (did it once, could have been 'meatier' - I don't recommend so much) and my sister likes their chicken & broccoli and general tso' dishes. I've had their steamed pork and chive dumplings and they're FINE for what they are for being "fast-food"-ish, but I'm a MEGA dumpling snob so if you're *not* then you'll like em. They also makes a mean (ie. Deliciouuuuuuus) scallion pancake - DO get it, it's fantastic. Food here is cheap, consistent as far as quality and flavor go and the folks that work here are pretty friendly to boot! Service is great because they're quick but great at managing multiple customers and handling large orders at a time - some places might get flustered when asking for special requests (like I enjoy my sweet & sour sauce on the side so that my chicken stays crispy!) - they don't ask about it, they just DO which is great when your buying food and wanting it the way you want it. I also like how they don't roll their eyes or make me feel like the scum of the earth when I request extra soy sauce packets. I like to drown my rice and meat in the stuff, it's part of the magical Chinese take-out experience for me! :D

This place used to be my go to chinese restaurant. The food is decent however in recent times the portions have gotten way smaller. There are enough chinese food places in Jackson Heights whose prices are the same, taste just as good and will not short you on the rice and veggies. It's been real, but fairwell from me New Peking. :-/

After trying a couple of Chinese fast-food restaurants in the area, Peking Kitchen remains to be, in my opinion, one of the top 2 (Chinese) restaurants around the neighborhood. The food manages to be steaming hot even after a 15min walk home. The broccoli is usually quite fresh and cooked perfectly. Not soggy and drenched in sauce like other places. The shrimp with Lobster sauce is actually pretty tasty and comes with jumbo sized shrimps. Their wonton soup, not authentic in any way, but it's decent -- compared to what you get elsewhere. L's nephew loved his Chicken with garlic sauce - he won't eat the food from Ming Wok. Sesame Chicken is also pretty good. Their roast pork fried rice is really flavorful and they use good quality roast pork in their rice, which is a plus. Portions are generous. The combos are big enough to feed 2, I share with L, who's over 200lbs and 6'3 and sometimes we still manage to have a little leftover. =D I would skip getting their dumplings. The skin is ridiculously thick and their meat filling doesn't seem to be cooked enough. I steamed them in my wok for 5-7 minutes after they sat overnight in my fridge and we definitely noticed a huge change in taste and color. The meat was brown (originally it's like pinkish!!) and similar to what you get in a steamed pork bao bun.

This is more of a 3.5 Star review. Really good food take-out Chinese food. Good value. My one knock - I think they overload on the "sodium" a bit (but which take-out Chinese place doesn't, I suppose?)

This is very good chinese take out place in Jackson Heights. The stuffs are very kind and constantly clean the place. And their menu is relatively cheap. My favorite is Chicken with Garlic Sauce, although I do not usually order menu with meat, this is one of my favorite here. Their Vegetables are fresh and tasty, in the Chicken with Garlic Sauce they have green pepper (bitter and yum), broccoli, and kikurage mushroom (jelly ear mushroom). The volume is also very satisfying, I can spread into two meals. This place is always busy with constant phone calls of orders, but when I come it is usually not difficult to find open table too. If all local place is like this with good friendly hard working stuffs and with good cooked food, I will love to support more the local businesses.

As far as Chinese Take-outs go, this is our go-to in Jackson Heights. Prices are low (granted, they tend to be in a Chinese Take-out, but Peking Kitchen's seem to be lower?), the food is MSG wonderful(ler than the usual), the staff is abrupt and efficient, but they are also courteous and they always remember if you get a free soda or not (also, FYI, cash only). Once I did not have enough cash - $3 short, and the cashier told me to give them $3 extra the next time I came in and they gave me my food. That kind of trust inspires loyalty. The Garlic Chicken is my particular favorite (chicken, green peppers, broccoli and mushrooms), as well as the steamed vegetable dumplings. Ordering by the pint is a better deal than ordering the meal specials, unless it's lunch time. I'm never around for lunch, so I can't say for sure, but generally Chinese Take-out lunches are pretty sweet deals.

This is not a good Chinese restaurant. There are much better alternatives in Elmhurst or Flushing. In fact, it is hard to believe that a place like this can be so bad in the face of so many much better examples nearby. I guess nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.

As I sit here eating plate after plate of my delicious Peking Kitchen bounty, I can't stop raving about it to my roommate and my friends online right now. This is hands down the BEST Chinese take-out I've ever had. I'm always wary of ordering seafood anything from anywhere beyond basic shrimp, but having read the other reviews about the place and Marina C's review in particular, I ordered the Dragon & Phoenix (half General Tso's, half seafood in white sauce) -- AMAZING! When I saw "seafood" I assumed shrimp and squid and fish balls or something, but instead found delicious crab meat and shrimp w/ veggies only - SO GOOD! I actually didn't have a menu to this place at all so I went entirely off yelp reviews and also got the orange beef (it is indeed like candy) and the mixed veggies in garlic sauce, which includes very nicely fried tofu. Basically I can't find a single thing wrong with anything I ordered. You'll have to try it for yourself. I'm so glad I found you, Peking Kitchen!

I moved back to Jackson Heights and the first night I was back.... My eyes lit up in excitement having come to the realization that I could order from here again! Best Chinese in Queens!

I read the reviews and was even more inspired to order. I ordered the standards for an introduction. Shrimp with Lobster Sauce Sesame Chicken Wonton Soup All succulent and well balanced in flavor. I was very pleasantly surprised. You know the food is good when after being overly full, you still wantbto eat more. I totally recommend! Fortune Cookie says: You will burp with satisfaction. ( But just not in my direction please )

Our go-to takeout Chinese restaurant! Generous portions, very fast service and great taste. Far better than the usual neighborhood Chinese place.

Solid choice for takeout Chinese, had the sesame chicken and the spicy beef. The chicken was crispy and not over-sauced, and the beef had a lot of veggies, which I liked. The hot and sour soup was above average, it had a good combination of strong flavoring and lots of tofu/bamboo shoots/mushrooms/pork.

Very good food and friendlier than most places. ALways do carry out here and have not had an issue yet. I've ordered from here probably about 50 times over the past couple of years and the quality has remained consistent which to me is a very good sign.

There is good chinese food here.. We have a lot of choices in the neighborhood... even on 37th ave in general you can get a lot of chinese food. This place is the only one I would go to if I wanted my General TSO's chicken cooked to perfection. They have a comfy space to eat also with nice lighted mural on the wall of a huge river. I have eaten at many of the Chinese Food places around Jackson Heights but this one is on top of the list.

The staff is friendly and accomodating and the food is good. We eat here at least twice a month. The fried rice is fluffy and not greasy. They take their time to cook everything properly, so you may wait a bit but not too long. I've enjoyed every dish I have tried. Highly recommended. Warning--CASH ONLY!

Mediocre and Overpriced. I found this place by looking on Yelp, read the raves posted here, and stopped in. I was looking for simple, fast Chinese food that I could take over to my boyfriend's house. The plan was to eat together and then play Scrabble. That I still have a boyfriend after showing up with this over cooked, flavorless mess is testament to his generosity. This is a typical take-out Chinese place, florescent lit and antiseptically decorated. Looks like a clean bus depot but if the food was good I wouldn't mind. I ordered the Beef and Scallops with Mixed Vegetables, the Boneless Chicken, and Pork Dumplings. The Boneless Chicken was over cooked, dry and pasty tasting. It rested on a bed of broccoli that was limp, pale and also over-cooked. The Beef was slightly better but also tough. The Scallops were (can you detect a theme here?) past their prime and tough to chew. The Mixed Vegetables were flaccid. The one acceptable dish was the Pork Dumplings but even these had dough that felt overly gummy and a meat filling that was grainy. The staff was professional but perfunctory and I was sorry that the women who took my money kept running her fingers over her runny nose. Good things that I can say about this restaurant: They throw in one can of free soda with every entree and they have brown rice if you prefer that. On balance, I won't be coming back. I am still looking for good, healthy Chinese food in Jackson Heights. Something akin to Baby Buddha in the Village. I'm taking suggestions.

This is our go-to chinese place. Their sesame chicken, szechuan chicken/beef, egg foo young, chicken with garlic sauce, shredded pork with garlic sauce, pork fried dumplings etc are very very good. We've never eaten in, we order to go or get delivery. Never had a problem. The staff is VERY accomodating. Nothing bad to say!

Order from here at least once a month. I really like their combination specials where you get a choice of egg roll or won ton soup. Portions are large, and is always 2 days worth of food. Share with a friend, or keep for leftovers.

  • Vee G.

Usually order take out from here occasionally (once-twice in every two months) for over 15 years with my family. Good Chinese food spot in JH. Only complaints are sometimes its over greased and the lo mein dishes arent on point here.

  • Anish S.

Ordered as a vegetarian once. 1 Sm. Vegetable Lo-Mein 1 Sm Veg. Fried Rice 1 Sm. Mixed vegetable in garlic sauce VERY DELICIOUS. We all know how many Chinese places are in Jackson Heights this is one of the better ones available. For the tofu:vegetable portion they give you is well-worth the value. So, yeah, in conclusion, this place is really good.

Jeff, this is for you! :D if you agree let me k now! This review is specifically written only for one dish: BEEF ORANGE FLAVOR addictively taste like crack once u taste it you can stop eating it until it's over the crunchiness of the beef deep fried, the sour + sweetness + saltines with orange peeled deep friend skin...... please dont eat this everyday i don't think this is the most healthy food on earth if it makes you feel better, you can order a brown rice free to go with it. but if you need a lift, or just gone through a breakup, or life had disappoints you once again, then beef orange flavor is the perfect substitute of ice-cream. it put a smile on my face last night for sure. haaahhh...life is all good again for the moment btw, one tip if you're gonna get it take out, please run home (the condensation destroys the crunchiness) or like what i did-- #1.tear off the paper bag immediately once it's in your hand, #2.pop open the container, and walk like a weird person on the street a. holding plastic bag on one hand, and b. another hand inside the bag holding the cover of the food off.

Best chinese food in the neighborhood!! Delicious food and quick service!! Sit in or take-out, you will never be waiting long to get your food.

  • Andy F.

I've ordered twice from here. The food is pretty tasteless and far from authentic. For Chinese take out, I suppose its ok, but it's really bland. 2 Stars cause it's far from anything I'd like to go too again.

  • Harry H.

I'm lucky enough to sometimes be treated to their lunch specials on Friday afternoons by a close relative. Their prices are excellent and the choices are vast. The vegetarian selection is on par with all Chinese takeout joints, and the service is top-notch. They're very accommodating and make you what you want, no questions asked.

Another major culinary disappointment in my life. As stated in a previous review I was a regular in this place for many years. HOWEVER, about six months ago, I ordered the usual Chicken and Broccoli with Garlic Sauce and white rice. The place was closing and they were cleaning everything, I admit I saw them spraying the cooking area with cleaning supplies and I was nervous about contamination. Well, I went back to the office and ate the food. Immediately after eating the food I had a nauseous feeling and later that night lets just say I was deathly sick for two days. I almost had to be hospitalized. I don't know if it was unclean rice cooker bacteria. or cleaning fluids or just old salmonella chicken, I really don't know. But Sadly to say I have not had Chinese food since and this place for me is OFF-LIMITS. I am an extremely loyal person but I wont take another chance with this place, So long Dave and Dennis. (very sad)

This is my all-time favorite Chinese food delivery place, ever. If I'm in Jackson Heights (which I am, a lot) this is the only place I will order from, or go to. Their mooshu is amazing and wonderfully light, their fried rice is not greasy at all, their hot and spicy beef is divine...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!! And their delivery is great, rarely over 20 minutes.
