Great reviews... James Beard... so we went and were sorely disappointed with our entrees. Of the six entrees, four said their main meal was good but not great. But the two of us who ordered home made squid ink cavatelli with lobster (sounds great right?) just sat there and attempted over and over again to chew what tasted like flavorless rocks with flecks of lobster.... and for $29 a pop! The wait staff were fantastic and courteous, but we waited for them to notice we didn't touch our entree or ask us about our meal. In hindsight we should have returned the entrees to the kitchen. We ended with the chocolate chip cookie in a skillet topped with ice cream which was nice but didn't erase the memory of the entree. We were very disappointed because we still must continue on our search to find a restaurant with Manhattan quality in the burbs.

This place needs adult supervision! First they sat us at a table attached to the heater where our legs were burning. Then they said that they would turn off the heat which they did not. After we asked to to be moved, they took us downstairs to a table by the door that was freezing all the while the resturant was empty. So we got up and left for Greenwich where the restaurants are great and reliable!

A simply excellent meal and a shining example of what farm to table can, and should, be. This was a return visit after a decidedly mixed experience early this year and we are glad we went back. We really enjoyed the knowledge of our server as to where the ingredients had came from, what local farms, and what made many of them distinct. All the produce, in particular, was used to near perfection in all the dishes and we really relished the bounty of late summer. Pros: meal very well prepared and served. Service was lively, knowledgeable and displayed a great sense of humor, which is something we appreciate greatly. Cons: I want to provide some balance, so I list these more as facts rather than things that are actually cons. The main issue to be aware of is that it can get noisy in the downstairs dining room, notably on weekend nights. That said the tables are sufficiently spread apart so you are not sitting on top of each other. We dined on a weeknight and were not bothered by the noise level.

I tried this restaurant for the first time with a friend for Restaurant Week in Westchester. Our meals were exquisite from start to finish. This is a must go place. First, we had fresh baked bread followed by our appetizers. I had the pumpkin risotto which blew me away it was so flavorful and delicious- with chunks of roasted pumpkin! I ate every last bite. Next I tried the whole pig with apple and again this dish was so flavorful, tender and juicy cooked to perfection. To end the meal we had the warm chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream which was fantastic. BUT that's not all! As our server brought over the check in a classic novel (great touch) she gave us individually wrapped WARM homemade apple muffins for our breakfast. What a place. The atmosphere is lovely, simple, clean country chic. Martha Stewart would love it! Pumpkins and simple candles throughout for the fall. The service was fabulous! Our server Sarah was a delight- so attentive, fun and friendly. We were well taken care of and will certainly be back!

Excellent food always. However, you will never be seated at the time of your reservation. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for your table. The bar is small and crowded, so you have to wait at the main entrance and get constantly bumped in to. Very mismanaged enterprise.

I've only been here a few times, but I was really impressed with the food. Once was for lunch, which was excellent, and the other time was for dinner. It was Father's Day, and a lot of restaurants won't do their best on a holiday because they're just turning out a lot of prix fixe meals. But everything we had was very good, and the service was excellent. It can be hard to get in, but I think it's worth trying.

Really good experience. Went here during Hudson Valley restaurant week and had a a very good dinner. Lots of local ingredients, with a good selection of wine and Captain Lawrence beer. The restaurant was modern, cleanly laid out and had a good ambiance. The regular menu maybe looked a little over priced, but would still go back.

So impressed with the food and service (5 star quality) - but the restaurant decor was totally lacking. Glowing reviews of this spot made my husband and I choose to celebrate our 4 year anniversary at Restaurant North. I was a bit reluctant since there is no menu on the website, but we made our decision based on the positive feedback impressive image gallery. Don't pass on the bread basket, it is not to be missed. Fresh, warm, and delicious. My husband started with a half order of the homemade pasta with lamb which was tasty and huge. I had the tuna carpaccio - it was inventive and refreshing, served with some sort of melon sorbet and lemon balm. He had the local fish of the day, which was also very nice, and I had the scallops cooked to perfection. For dessert we split the chocolate chip cookie that came out in a cast iron pan topped with a double order of the Ronnybrook Farms vanilla ice cream. And although vanilla isn't too adventurous - it was so creamy and delicious. To the point where I stalked it online to look up the nearest retailer. The only negative comment I have for Restaurant North, that the previous reviews don't illustrate is the decor. We were seated upstairs - which looked like a dated conference room. Bad carpeting, battery operated tea light candles (really?), asylum white walls, budget blinds, and poorly framed posters in thin cheap brass frames. Punctuated by a few fruit flies. Barf. It simply didn't match the sophisticated cuisine, extensive wine list, or the prices you paid for them. I know I am being harsh but it was that bad. Downstairs was definitely better, although still meh. Having two small children at home makes me really appreciate fine dining coupled with adult ambiance. In the competitive restaurant market in Westchester and Fairfield Counties, I feel like there are many other places to go where the scene matches the cuisine - The Inn at Pound Ridge, Fortina, The Elm, The Whelk, to name a few. Bottom line - you should definitely try Restaurant North, just make sure you sit downstairs!

Really great kale salad...not just like everyone else's! Dessert was fantastic, the rhubarb caramel sauce was incredible. Super impressive wine list, And really fair value. Service was very friendly, nice, helpful. Really made it a great experience.

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week Destination: Restaurant North. We could only get a reservation for 9:30pm (because we wanted a Friday), and I'm so glad we stuck with it. Atmosphere: City sophisticated, but with high ceilings and more room (2 floors); I liked the big candle chandelier upstairs, and it was nice that the tables are not on top of one another. Service: Professional and very polished. Food: Decadent, delicious, yet wholesome. The homemade pumpernickel rolls are served warm with homemade whipped apple butter...you can't eat just one. The appetizer of polentina was almost like a soupy polenta, and it included crumbled sausage, cheese, and greens. My entree of porchetta was a big portion of crisped and tender pork meat, shaped into a cube, atop potatoes, golden beets, and a delicious sauce. Dessert was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had, fresh baked, served in a cast iron skillet, with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Wow. (See photos). Excellent meal and an incredible deal for restaurant week. See you there next year!

Delicious! I recently dined at north for the first time and ordered from their restaurant week tasting menu. The red fish was delicious and the home baked chocolate chip cookie yummy. Their menu (both standard and tasting ) had so many great options. I am told they change their menu often. This is a true farm to table restaurant focusing on several local providers including their wine list (finger lakes, north folk etc). The service was excellent and the restaurant overall has a very inviting feel to it. I gladly recommend North to all foodies out there. Enjoy!!!

Went there last year so this review is not current. I remembered having the foie gras two ways, which I think is the best I have ever had anywhere. I also tasted from my friends and remember all the food to be top notch. It's hard to get a table though on a weekend so plan ahead. I will go again soon and update my review.

Highly recommended. I've been here 3-4 times & never disappointed. Tonight's main was the slow roasted pork over spaetzle with a poached egg and a sriracha-based sauce. Excellent!

I prefer not to rate a restaurant 5 stars until I've eaten there at least 3 times. Well we have achieved that milestone and my rating stands. 5 Stars. Everything from start to finish is what one should expect from a highly rated establishment. The food from the bread to the dessert and all points in between is what all restaurants should aspire to and make their top priority. Our head waiter whom we always request (Melvin) when we make reservations is absolutely charming and highly efficient in all areas of restaurant etiquette. We enjoy dining out on a regular basis and will continue to frequent this outstanding establishment. Job Well Done !!!!

I was in town on business, and Restaurant North came upon recommendation, so headed there for lunch. An outstanding experience! Outdoor seating was pleasant, while service was as attentive as those who are indoors-making sure water glasses were filled, checking to ensure the meal was Ok, etc. The wait staff doesn't miss a mark! So, you are wondering about the meal-- after all I was there to eat right :-) The food was divine! You can tell the chefs start with quality ingredients and then use their magic to create special dishes. Even ordinary Kale tastes extraordinary at North because they use quality ingredients and then prepare with love. I'm a yogi, so, yes, I can tell :-) I wasn't suppose to have dessert, but oh my goodness am I glad that I did. It was worth whatever calories, and fat were in there. Some kind of ricotta or polenta cake with blueberries....wow. No, I don't remember exactly what it was because upon tasting my first bite, immediately died and went to heaven. No memory of what it was called only remember the sheer bliss of biting into it and leaving my body. My sense is that Restaurant North welcomes anyone, wearing anything. I'd say the atmosphere and experience are special here, so I'd recommend it for special occasions, whether a business meeting or romantic date--wearing something a bit nicer than jeans. Oh one more thing--the people behind the scenes are truly thoughtful people, which comes through in their service, food, and also in the bathroom! Yes, I said the bathroom. One of the nicest bathrooms--it is well decorated, clean, smells good, AND has nice toiletries for patrons :-) Its worth the money you will spend here, and you will spend some money... ENJOY IT! You only live once!

Delicious! 4+ The beefsteak tomato appetizer was amazing, seriously the best tomato I have had this summer... I had a bite of the soft shelled crab and wished I had ordered it myself. The suckling pork was tender, and the crispy skin quite good, the kale and the grilled peaches served with it were a great accompaniment...but somehow the pork was just a bit bland. We had a bottle of lovely French Bordeaux. Service was fantastic, attentive, friendly, comfortable. The decor was perfect...a very charming place.

Amazing chef! Everything from the special breads and butter you get at the table, to every perfectly prepared course, to the muffins and book at the end- masterful! The risutto, bobo chicken, and cookie with ice cream were decadant and so flavorful. No wonder the chef is a James Beard nominee! Splurge and treat yourself- you will not be disappointed!!

Although the servcie and food were good, if you have a health appetite, this might not be the place for you. My wife ordered the Rib-eye steak, one of if not the most expensive item on the menu, and when it arrived at the table, the steak was no bigger than a good sized meatball. Similar issue with my gnocci, I actually had to ask if they made a mistake and gave me the appetizer portion. I would guess there wereno more than 10 gnoccis in the bowl. Something wrong with spending $200+ on a full dinner and going home hungry. ALso, once the restaurant got full it was very loud. No separation between bar and dinning area, so when bar got crowded, enitre place got loud.

We enjoyed a very nice variety of well-prepared dishes. For appetizers, the bacon and roasted apple was a veritable flavor punch; we would order it again in a heartbeat. The mushroom flatbread was tasty but not special. Entrees included tilefish (portion a bit on the small side given the price point), short rib (tasty, though the meat was a bit tough), and scallops (simply superb). Dessert was the "Awesome" chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream; if you're getting full, it would be advisable to share this one or go for the lighter selection of sorbets. There is also a selection of cheeses, which we might just ask to try as an appetizer next time. The ambiance is quaint and very comfortable. The downstairs dining area adjacent to the bar is quite lively. If you prefer a quieter and more intimate experience, ask to be seated upstairs.

Now this is a winner of a restaurant. Went for lunch on a weekday...had one of the best appetizers of my life here...a hazelnut-encrusted poached egg over chorizo hash and shaved brussel sprouts with a tabasco gastrique. Can you say "Holy Shit"?! Their infamous Bubba burger was huge...overkill actually. The burger itself was great, the kale aioli added such an incredible dimension of flavor, but I found the pork confit on top to be to dry. If they switched that to a slab of pork belly that would be the best burger in Westchester.

I'm not sure where to begin... This true farm-to-table restaurant is a hidden gem just ten minuets from White Plains where I live... The hype on North certainly lives up to its name... I try and go here at least once every two weeks, and have been dining here for a little over a year. The kale salad is a signature dish here that I hope never comes off the menu... All pastas are made in-house, and their burger is a monstrosity that's big enough for two! The Bobo Farms chicken is delicious as well as the Halibut which always comes out perfect... The wine list is extensive and their is no corkage fee which is unusual for an area knows as the land of the 1%'s, but hey, who's complaining ?! Since I'm an avid collector, I usually bring in my own bottle, and actually stopped going to Moderne Barn up the road because of their exorbitant $45 corkage fee... I mean really?? Eric and Stephan all very hospitable, and they make you feel right at home... Local celebs such as Rob Thomas and former NYR Ron Greschner can be seen dining at the bar on any given night. Oh yeah, this is one of the few restaurants where I don't mind sitting at the bar to have dinner... Real chic, intimate, and the staff is ultra friendly... A must try for the serious foodie where just about everything on the menu is locally sourced, and as fresh as the morning dew. Now, if they can only open another restaurant closer to me... That would be ideal; I would call it "South"... : )

This place is located in a remote area, and was worth the 3 week wait for our reservation. Amazing food and as a person on a reduced gluten diet I was amazed at how there menu and service caters to the gluten sensitive clientele, Gluten free bread and homemade gluten free pastas made fresh daily on site. The server told the chef I was GF, and he sent over some GF pasta for me to try since I ordered a steak, he wanted our opinion on his homemade GF pasta, that was so nice and simply delicious!. Friendly service and a great overall experience, hope to go back soon. *The reason for the lack of the 5th star was having to wait 3 weeks for a reservation (in Westchester thats nuts), and the crazy lack of parking.

We were a party of 8 last night, and I think most of us were underwhelmed. First the petty things, which given the price tag, should not happen at this type of restaurant. Most entrees were innthe $30 range, appetizers in the $13-$15 range. My husbands beer came in a wine glass. Not impressed. I had to ask for my glass of Sauvignon Blanc twice. When it arrived, it was not what I ordered, and worse, it was not cold. Two coffees arrived cold and had to be sent back. We never received an order of roasted potatoes. I saw the waitress when I went to,the ladies and told.her to be sure to take it off the bill. Plates were left sitting for ages until enough staff were present to clear them all at once. I get that it is supposed to be posh, but I do not like sitting with dirty plates. Some of,the food was delicious. The huge mushroom flatbread was great. The single egg in hazelnuts was truly divine. It looked ridiculous in a GIANT bowl, especially next to the giant mushroom flatbread, and my friend's appetizer plate heaped with greens. We joked that our friend was eating a lawn. For $13, really, could they possible put two eggs in the giant bowl? It was tiny! 3 of us ordered the pork. Flavorless and dry. I ordered swordfish. It was tepid, with boring quinoa. My friend ordered lamb bacon pasta. It was so salty she almost couldn't eat it. No one raved about their meal. I truly disliked the dessert choices. Ice cream or sorbet. Yawn. The olive oil cake sounded nice, but please, leave pumpkin ice cream for autumn. I hate pumpkin anything. Chocolate chip cookie for dessert, and hot cinnamon rolls? It was all just weird and no one was inspired to try any thing other than sorbet. The lemon sorbet I thought was good, but others thought it too tart. Pink grapefruit sorbet tasted of nothing. How about offering a cheese selection? I just thought overall this place if horribly expensive and totally not worth what we paid. I am happy to spend that kind of money on a truly great meal like Blue Hill at Stone Barns, but this was nowhere near that calibre of food for a very similar price. At the very end, they gave us all cellophane wrapped pumpkin muffins. Why? It was all just off, but this place clearly thinks it is great. I won't be back.

Came here for brunch for a friend's birthday. We were a party of a total of 11 people. We made our reservations at 2pm and we were seated right away. We started with the biscuits and focaccia bread both served with pomegranate butter. Both breads were delicious. We were then given tomato salad with poppy seed goat cheese and kale and quinoa salad. The salads were both very fresh and the goat cheese with the tomato was the perfect combination. I ordered the burger which was gigantic and cooked exactly how I ordered it. The fries were super crispy which is my favorite. My friend ordered the chicken burger which was much smaller and hers came with homemade potato chips. We split our meals which saved us in the end because we were over full. Another friend of mine ordered the eggs with garlic potatoes and she said that her meal was delicious as well. We all enjoyed our food with the October ciders that they had for the season. We tried the original and the raspberry and both were worth having. For dessert we ordered the french press coffee, the gluten free almond cake with ice cream and the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. Both desserts were highly enjoyable. Overall we were pleased with our meals and the service is great. Everyone was very attentive and polite.

Came here fore HVRW a couple of weeks ago. Every good thing I heard about this place was confirmed. Menu was $35 for a three course menu, and an additional $29 for a bottle of wine. We opted for Riesling, which was great. For app I had the Pork Confit with chickpeas, my mom got salad. Obviously she went the wrong direction, her salad was good but it paled in comparison to my dish. The pork was perfectly cooked, it pulled apart and the flavor of the chickpeas was great (it had hot peppers also) For entree I chose the whole roasted pig- no this isn't an entire pig brought to your table with an apple in it's mouth (which is what I pictured) Our waitress explained that every week (or day? can't remember) they get a pig from the farm, they cook the entire pig and serve a pulled pork of every part in this dish. It's topped with crispy pig skin, and served with roasted potatoes and creamed arugula. If the description wasn't enough for you to drool over your desk, or phone then I'm not sure we can ever be friends. My mom got the beef two ways, a seared steak and I forgot how the other part was prepared (sorry not my dish!) It was served with polenta and a great steak sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly to her preference. Now dessert- my mom got an apple cake which was good- however I got the baked oatmeal raisin cookie in a skillet topped with ice cream which had caramel in the center- in the CENTER! Now, the waitstaff- super knowledgeable about everything on the menu, helpful, friendly, and charming. We had a few people come to our table, our waitress, someone carrying bread (two kinds, gluten free and foccacia!) Decor was modern and clean, we sat on the second floor which was nice and spacious. PS you get a muffin with the check. So they've got you covered for dinner and breakfast the next day! I'm so wary of giving 5 stars so easily- so I'm going with 4.5 because it's a hike from my house!

We went to North with another couple. We all thought it was good to very good---not great----little improvements here and there then maybe great rating but I'm stingy with calling anything great. What was not great: My wife ordered a soup--she liked it but she had to ask for a spoon which she had to wait for maybe 3 minutes but seemed like an eternity while staring at her soup---maybe I'm being over critical but for there prices--get it right Mussel appetizer ---just bland---wouldn't get it again Bacon apple appetizer ---good but also bland except for the peppers served along with it to give it flavor---peppers saved the dish Steak with short rib ravioli ---steak any person with any grill skills could match the steak---short rib ravioli was a side on this dish and it saved the entree--should be serving it as main course I had the full roast pork---bland until blended with the spezial Overall ---it comes down to ---the chef underseasoned some things but there were things to pick up the lack of flavor

Went back last week and had the fried chicken. Truly remarkable. Something about that srichacha honey sauce that takes you over the edge. The squash salad with mint and feta was also incredible. My mom had the tilefish and she went nuts over it. Loved the breads , both the gluten free poppy seed bread and the squash foccaccia, nice friendly service with a fantastic wine selection.

So here is the deal. I have been to Restaurant North maybe 7 times now. 4 out of the 7 times I would say the food was amazing! But 1 time during the "restaurant week" I had to send back the dish because it had 2 hairs in my soup. Two totally different hairs and it was not my wifes or mine! This really upset me because The soup was really good and I wanted to have it. This turned me off. Well, that was about 6-8 months ago. So we decided to give it a shot again because I knew this restaurant was good maybe it was just a really bad coincidence. So we went for dinner and my wife had the trout and a pasta dish for myelf. The trout was very good but my pasta dish really was not that great. I wished I ordered the trout for myself. We ordered a dessert, I think it was some sort of pair tart which was good. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic! After a great experience, we went back for brunch, and great, we had the same waiter. He was very overwelhmed and we waited a very long time for everything. It was ok because when we got our food, it was very good. I got the little piglet and the eggs were cooked to a soft poach on a biscuit with 2 nice thick pieces of bacon cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken sausage as a side and an another type of egg dish. She loved it. After another great experience. We went back with friends telling them about this great place they needed to go to. Well...Not so good this time. The place was pretty empty for brunch and I orded the same thing but this time the eggs were completley Hard poached so no yoke to dripping on the biscuit , a much smaller piece of bacon and the gluten free bread that my wife orders seamed stale. The Chicken sausage was way to salty. Also the butternut squash soup was completley saturated in pepper. This is something that could be added after.when the waiter should come around with fresh pepper to taste. Not sure why it was so dissapointing but it was. Place was clean and service pretty good. This last time was Saturday brunch. So the rating is a 2 out of 5 because of inconsistency and lack of quality control with the food. I don't think I am going back there. You may go back there and experience an amazing dinner or brunch but we were very dissapointed 2 x and 1 time was just ok with 3/4 times being pretty good to amazing. I categorize it as hit or miss!

Sorry guys, I have to take away a star. I've been a few more times and the service can be somewhere btw rude and sloppy. The girls at the front (last time I came was a few months ago) were soooo rude until the owners came out and you could tell by their faces they hoped we didn't say anything about the way they treated us. The service is too casual and sloppy. I feel like the owners want to charge fine dining prices but still try to be "cool" and "relaxed". Relaxed is one thing but they need to improve their service and why is it still deafening in there? Invest in some noise absorbers.

Easter Dinner. Started with croissants and cheese danish's, and mimosa's, nice touch. Scallop appetizer was delicious. Lamb main was light on flavor. (why I am leaving a star out otherwise it would be 5) - gluten free pound cake with caramel and goat cheese whipped cream was phenomenal. Service was excellent, really outstanding and attentive. Ambiance was excellent, acoustics not too loud, good selection of Captain Lawrence on draft.

After waiting several months, we finally were able to get over to North to sample Chef Eric Gabrynowicz's goods. While we were definitely excited to go, we were only able to score 10:00PM reservations which was pretty late for dinner. But commitment to getting into a Westchester hotspot like North won out in the end. I was wasn't sure what to expect from the menu considering that the website provides no info. I had looked up some info on Yelp but assumed the dishes might change since most restaurants relying on locally grown food tends to change pretty frequently. I was pretty pleased with the selection once we arrived and were seated One appetizer immediately jumped out at me on the menu: The Foie Gras Two Ways. As the name implies, this had two different preparations of Foie: A piece of foie with "Peanut Butter and Jelly" and one more like a terrine which was done with "Root Beer and Shallots." The PB&J one featured crushed peanuts and a rhubarb jelly and was definitely the winner of the two. For entree, I initially wanted to go with the Bucatini with Rock Shrimp (which got several good writeups) but they ran out of rock shrimp and wanted to sub in cod (which was a no go for me). My wife and I both wound up going with the Pat LaFrieda burgers. After having their "Black Label" blend at Minetta Tavern, there's almost no way I can turn down one of their meat blends when I see them on the menu. The Pat LaFrieda "North" blend was skirt, hangar, brisket, and sirloin. It was served with manchego cheese, pork confit, and beer-battered onion-rings with homemade pickles on a brioche bun with fresh cut fries on the side. While it was one of the creative and moistest burgers I've had, there was almost a little too much going on. Of the burger add-ons, the pork confit was excellent. One consistent theme throughout the meal was the high level of service we received. Another entree featured an intriguing side dish which we wanted to try at our table: Black Truffle Tater Tots (the truffle coming from both bits of truffle as well as truffle butter). When we asked if we could order a side of them, we were informed that only a limited batch were prepared for that specific entree so they couldn't offer full side dishes of it. Unprompted, our waitress then offered to "see what she could do." She came back a few minutes later and told us that the chef would send enough back for our table to try. Nice! At this point it was already 11PM and someone once told me that calories don't count after that so I decided to go for dessert. I had heard about their dessert skillets (although I found it funny that the menu said North's "Famous" Skillets considering they've been open for all of 10 minutes). I went with the Chocolate Chip Cookie with Ronnybrook Farm Vanilla Ice Cream. It's a solid idea but nothing you haven't seen elsewhere if you've ever had a warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream before. One other very cool thing about North is that they really payed attention to small details: They sent everyone home with Cranberry Coffee Cake muffins and instead of check holders they use classic novels (they gave our check in a copy of Great Gatsby and returned it with Catch 22). While maybe not quite living up to the initial hype, it was definitely worth the trip (all five minutes of it). We'll definitely be back for another go around at some point soon!

My husband and I went for a birthday celebration. I read through many reviews and was hopeful the experience would be great... unfortunately, it was only ok. The wait for a table (we had a reservation) was short and the staff friendly; we sat upstairs, which was much more quiet than the downstairs dining room. The AC vents were blowing directly on us so we both wore our jackets the entire dinner. We had the tuna tartar appetizer - delicious & highly recommended! Based on this, we couldn't wait for our entrees. My husband had the sea scallops, which were also delicious. He kept commenting on how fresh they were and "melt in your mouth". I had the whole roasted pig, which is not what you think it is. They roast a whole pig then make a "pulled pork" type of dish with crispy skin on top - what's not to love?!? I was soooo disappointed... the pork was dry and had zero flavor. Even my husband - who eats everything - wouldn't eat it. On a good note, the mustard greens and potatoes were good. We ordered bread pudding for dessert and espresso. The espresso showed up immediately. After 10 minutes we asked the waiter to check on the dessert. He did, saying it would be another few minutes. After another 5-10 minute wait, the dish showed up. The bread pudding was a little dry and definitely not worth the wait.... Thanks to the staff, it was taken off our bill due to the wait. My only other complaint would be that I had no idea who our server was.... There were 3 or 4 different people filling water, taking orders, clearing plates, etc. We had to ask each one of them several times for our bill. Very confusing! All is all, the experience and food was not good enough for us to return.

We had been meaning to try North for months, and came to celebrate two birthdays. Asked to sit upstairs, which was cozy and much quieter than the main room. The food was delicious, and the service helpful, friendly and attentive. Overall we enjoyed ourselves completely and will definitely return. The only negative, and the reason I'm not going with 5 stars here, is that THEY CHARGED US FOR ICE. There on the bill, just under the charge for my cocktail, was $1.50 for "Rocks." When I inquired, the staff couldn't have been nicer and adjusted the check, but a manager answered my questions about the charge with "lots of restaurants do it." There was no acknowledgement that the practice was unusual, or any justification (ultra-pure water used, artisanal ice purchased not made on premises, or something similar) offered. A restaurant that is otherwise so absolutely customer-friendly should rethink this policy, especially considering what they charge for cocktails. This just smacks of petty cheapness.

North is fantastic...A-1 service!!! We couldnt get a reservation so we just ate at the bar. Very chic and classy venue. All the workers are at your service. Bartender was extremely friendly. Managers are very accomodating. I had the burger with fries and had the scallops. Best scallops she ever tasted and we have been to many coastal areas like sf and maine and the hamptons. Highly recommend. Perfect for making an impression or business events upstairs. Make reservations days ahead!!

Nicely decorated atmosphere. We ordered the summer salad, fried chick pea patty to start. The summer salad was seasoned well and a nice way to start the meal. I'm not a huge fan of chick pea but it was good. We ordered the soft shell crab, halibut, and a burger with smoked zucchini fries as entrées. The halibut was the best. The presentation was pretty and cooked perfectly with a nice tomato purée and veggies. The soft shell crab was light n tasty. The burger was hearty, juicy, and cooked as requested. The smoked zucchini fries were too smoky but ok. We finished with the Almond cake which was by far my favorite part of dinner :) our waitress was pleasant and attentive. All in all a very good dining experience!

The really amazing this about Restaurant North is it not only lives up to the hype, but goes above and beyond its acclaim. Every detail is covered from stemware to local menu items to an amazing New York whiskey and great espresso. A true 5 star here for nailing every single part of the dining experience. The negative about North is the people in the place who dare give them a less than amazing acclaim. When you can walk into a place like North in Armonk and still feel welcomed and comfortable right before receiving true NYC service and bad ass food, you should know...this restaurant is 5 star serious!

Granted I was never really THAT impressed with Union Square Café, so I suppose I should've kept my expectations in check. Guess I forgot as soon as I saw the Ferrari in the parking lot. So, let me start on a positive note by saying that the dining room is cozy and intimate. Simple in its décor, and marked with some very nice artwork. Service is friendly. And nothing is "bad." But, if your are going to be a top restaurant in one of the wealthiest suburbs on the planet, you'd better more than just "not bad." And that was the story, top to bottom. Not one course, and we each had three, was excellent. Each lacked that little extra something that takes a dish from good to memorable. And with 6 different dishes and two proprietary cocktails, I'd say they had ample ways to impress, but failed at every one. The only two dishes that rose above just solid good were the pasta and the soft shell crabs. Both teetering on great. But sadly, not ACTUALLY great.

Perhaps it is a little unfair that we stopped at North for dinner, on our way home from a trip to Rome, where the elegance of simple flavors can never be matched by a chef who strives to make every dish as complex as possible. We have been stopping in Armonk on our way to or from JFK for years, and the space now occupied by North was once a simpler Italian restaurant with no pretensions, that served excellent Italian food at modest prices. We knew that this restaurant had been replaced by North and wanted a to try it out, hoping for a place to have a quiet, relaxing dinner to unwind from a long trans-Atlantic flight and an unbelievably chaotic time leaving JFK. Things looked promising when we arrived at North, with only a few patrons in the main dining room, but that was before the large contingent of staff started arriving, and the rock music was cranked up. One glance at the menu was enough to know that this wasn't going to be the dining experience we had had in Armonk in the past. The cheapest glass of white wine was $14. OK, so now that we had a handle on the place, we ordered a "simple" mixed salad, a spicy lobster pasta appetizer (as one of the meals) and gnocchi with chicken bolognese sauce. That's when the fun started. One of us went to the restroom, and immediately one of the staff appeared and refolded the napkin. When the salad arrived, our waitress informed us that she would bring us bread shortly, since it had just come out of the oven (we were early, so no surprise). The salad ($10) however, was far from simple. It had several varieties of greens, braised fennel, and cold onion rings whose batter was seasoned with cinnamon! Lots of different flavors, but clearly an attempt to impress by overcompensation. The cinnamon onion rings did not work, especially in combination with the fennel! Our bread arrived, served from a basket with two varieties, gluten free white bread and an onion focaccia. But they both had been refrigerated?!? What happened to the bread that had just come out of the oven? Of interest is that between the two halves of the bread basket was a round bowl containing various colored lentils, to rest the tongs in between servings! Another clear attempt at trying to increase the WOW factor, but just elicited raised eyebrows from us. So, first course over, and the waitress replaces all of the silverware while another staff member comes over to scoop off any bread crumbs, and brings our main courses. The spicy lobster pasta was tasty but the spiciness overwhelmed the lobster. The 5 green gnocchi (spinach maybe?) were served on a bed of ground chicken meat garnished with deep fried Tuscan kale. The "sauce" was seasoned, but I frankly could not figure out with what, not unpleasant, but so complicated that it just wasn't appealing. Once again, in our opinion, the chef lost the thread of this dish by making it more complex than it needed to be. After the meal we ordered a ginger pannacotta for dessert, to share. This time the busboy brought two full sized plates, and another complete set of silverware, presumably so we could cut up the pannacotta with our knives and forks, and transfer each share to the plates, instead of just using our spoons to eat from the plate it was served on. Unfortunately, the pannacotta must have been made with gelatin, because it had the consistency of Jello, instead of the creamy consistency characteristic of good pannacotta. The two final touches were another round of napkin refolding when one of us had to use the restroom, after our dessert was finished; and having the bill served to us in a paperback copy of "To Kill A Mockingbird"! I don't think our waitress picked up on the fact that in order to be equally cute, we placed our payment on the page that corresponded to the total plus tip, page 100. This restaurant, in our opinion, tries way too hard to impress its clientele with its creativity, and service. We didn't need to have a napkin boy refolding napkins every time one of us got up from the table, nor did we need to have multiple sets of silverware provided at every turn of events. Maybe the good people of Armonk enjoy paying top dollar for such over attentive service, and clearly they do because the restaurant filled up by the time we finished, but we thought it was over the top.

We recently had an opportunity to dine here. Our first attempt was unsuccessful when they had to shut down the restaurant for the night shortly after we got seated. I had the soft shell crab entree. Delicious but was a bit too heavy on the salt. My wife had the steak/fries. Steak cooked to perfection but again the fries were heavily salted. Will make another visit some other time to see if our first visit was just a fluke.

I ate twice at restaurant north, both times I was very disappointed. You would think from the reviews online and opentable that this place would be somewhat appetizing; however the food is bland, and the kitchen is SLOW to get food out. The restaurant is so small and the food takes that long to come out of the kitchen ?! Sheesh.. I'm a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and have worked in my fair share of restaurants and I was just amazed at this restaurant and the lack of organization and creativity. Given all this I said I'll give it a 3rd chance, and I called to pick up an order Togo and the host informed me that it would take an HOUR to pick it up, placed me on hold for 15 minutes so I hung up and called back and they ignored my phone call ! Where's the hospitality!?

My husband and I were so disappointed we had 8:30 reservations. We arrived at 8:25 (we worked all day and were very hungry ) it was our anniversary and wanted a good meal. We were told to wait at the bar, was not seated till 9:20 we ordered the wilded mushroom flat bread ( tasted burned )and pappardelle (was cold )as an appetizer it didn't come out till 10:00 ... My husband was angry they ran out of the dinner he came there for ( roasted pig ) he was so angry with the service he vowed never to return. We left without desert.

This is a great farm to table restaurant. All foods are fresh and magnificently prepared. However it's crazy busy on weekends. Try sitting at the bar. Or visiting their new takeout across the street.

This is my third time -- first for restaurant week lunch, a second lunch and now dinner. I find the food to be generally delightful and tonight was no exception. My lackluster rating is due to mediocre service (slow service, dirty plate had to be replaced twice) and deafening noise. It was comfort food for us tonight -- fried chicken and the "whole" roasted pig. Both excellent.

What a delight!! We went for brunch and it was really fantastic. All aspects, even down to the house made herb biscuits with corn butter. YUM! My Bloody Mary with organic tomato juice was perfection. We had the North Breakfast & Porchetta. My goodness! The poached eggs were cooked perfectly over crumbled sausage with spiced hollandaise. Wonderfully seasoned! The Porchetta was texturally superb. Beautiful crispy skin, tender juicy shredded pork with savory confit tomatoes. I'll be thinking about it all day. The Super Amazing Cookie served in a cast iron skillet with vanilla ice cream was heavenly. Chewy and warm just the way a cookie should be. Our server, Mark, was super sweet and attentive. He told us about their new market opening across the street and we are really looking forward to trying it out soon! Matt, the Sous Chef even came out and couldn't be more warm and engaging. We very much look forward to returning for dinner as well as trying out the market.

I went here for brunch and got the north breakfast and had them cook my eggs in a different style. It was so delicious. The flavors came out in every bite. They bring you fresh baked herbed buttermilk biscuits with homemade apple butter (so insanely good) and of course we couldn't leave without trying the chocolate chip cookie in a skillet. That put us right in heaven. You eat it with a spoon and it's like having a big freshly baked cookie with delicious vanilla ice cream. This was very worth the trip and I am excited to try their dinner. They don't have their menu on the website because it changes every day. This is how you know food is fresh. The servers were very friendly and accommodating.

so tasty.....not a complaint at all....bread and stuff to start was tasty. mussels were good. my roast chicken was the best roast chicken that i've ever had. wife's scallops were delicious. the chocolate cookie was so good.....will go again. no inexpensive but didn't feel robbed. service was solid. upstairs is a bit stodgy.....should almost get a discount if you are eating upstairs.....and/or why not ask me if I'd prefer up or down? but that's nit-picky. overall, truly as good as it gets. i'll be back soon ;-)

Excellent food. The beats with stracciatella and pea shoots is great. And so it the wild mushroom flatbread. And these are just appetizers. The only suggestion I can make is to expand the beer list a bit. Captain Lawrence and Ommegang are top-notch, but us, Dogfish fans feel a bit left out :) This minor comment out of the way, the bottom line is, if you're here, this is the place where you want to dine.

Was very disappointed with service last night. The wait staff was neglecting the outdoor tables... We never received bread which is always delicious, and when I was finally able to grab a server to ask for some, our meals were delivered. The chicken portion was smaller than usual. The tuna I had was fantastic however.

My wife and I decided to take advantage of the grandparents and decided to venture out on a romantic dinner. We were not disappointed in our choice. The ambiance of Restaurant North definitely fit the bill. The food and drink selection were excellent. We ended up getting the Beef Short Ribs and Pork Belly main dishes. For sides, we decided on the brussel sprouts and roasted garlic potatoes. The potatoes were slightly on the salty side, but delicious. The main courses were delicious. The Pork Belly was probably a bit too much but I devoured it with pleasure. As for drinks, my wife decided to try a hard cider (from a nice selection). Delicious and festive, as she put it. I decided on an IPA which was solid. We definitely recommend Restaurant North, especially if you're looking for an intimate atmosphere with great food and drink to go along.

It is extremely rare that I rate a restaurant with 5 stars. I require all aspects to be outstanding. North fits the bill. The food was excellent -- booming with flavors and all super interesting. Everything we tried was fresh and innovative. Service was top notch... friendly and with good humor and deep knowledge of the food and wine. Further, for our table of six, three servers arrived to ensure our plates hit the table at the same time. Portion size felt initially a touch small, but by the end of the evening, I was pleasantly stuffed without feeling that "bring me a bucket" feeling I often get after a Saturday evening meal. And the bill was reasonable ... We spent $175 per couple having had drinks, appetizers, entrées, desserts and coffees. North is an all-around excellent restaurant. We plan to visit again as the season changes. The farm-to-table menu will surely be another adventure the next time we dine there.

The decor inside reminded me of Union Square Cafe in NYC the only problem was the lighting - it was too dark. First of all we could not read the menu, we needed a flash and lucky for us I had one in my bag, and secondly we could not see our food - It was just too dark! However, our meals were good, I had the Strip Steak (med. Rare) with Creamed Kale, German Potato Salad, and my friend had the Porchetta (Pork) with German pasta. However, my friend did say that her had pork was a little too dry. Now for dessert, the menu was nothing that excited our taste buds so we skipped it. Don't get me wrong the dessert is probably great, but looking at the menu we rather have dessert at home, I am sure we can find Sorbet in the freezer. All and all, I would think twice about coming here at night because I like to see what I am eating, besides to me the food presentation is everything. If I can't see the food because of the lighting what fun is that? I would think about coming here during the day next time, you will not be disappointed with your food.

We've been to this restaurant a few times and have enjoyed each visit. The menu is a little limited but everything is delicious. The service was excellent every time. The chocolate cookie dessert is worth the whole cost of dinner! We really liked it here.

A freshly unique dining experience Restaurant North will challenge your taste buds while leaving you wondering how certain dishes are prepared. The easy highlight of our meal was the "John Boy's Hazelnut Encrusted Egg" with string beans, goat cheese, prosciutto and nectarines. These various ingredients mingled perfectly resulting in a flavorful dish not to be soon forgotten. We found ourselves dipping our bread (wonderfully fresh and tasty) into the remaining yoke - fantastic. Apparently North tweaks their menu daily. This excellent offering should be a staple. Also ordered - "Mimi's Bibb Salad" with peaches, granola and homemade ricotta. Refreshingly prepared but tastefully conservative - still this starter was enjoyed. Our main entree's included Scallops with eggplant, miso-yogurt, mimi's herbs, cherry tomatoes and melon. The Tilefish with squash, string beans, guys carrots, matchstick potatoes and herbs. While the Scallops were the better of the two - both mains were thoroughly enjoyed. Again - the tasteful freshness of these meals lack comparison. At a dining establishment of this kind service expectations are high. Here we found North a bit lacking / somewhat off-centered. Properly greeted and seated at a fine table our waitress was pleasant enough. However throughout the two hour dinner we were occasionally forgotten. When asked we had our bottle of Chardonnay left on ice at a distance. With our glasses empty a request had to be made for refill which is inexcusable here. Other patrons seated later - were serviced more promptly. We weren't rushing but it's the principal here. Regardless - we left happy and satisfied with our fine meals.

Remarkable late afternoon saturday lunch during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. It was a mouthwatering feast.... The sort of meal one ought to enjoy before going to the electric chair. Setting the tone... the staff placed warm flakey biscuits onto the table with pickled butter... and we ended the meal with a gloriously light yogurt panna cotta that was like cool citrusy velvet. In my opinion, that dessert killed it over the famed skillet baked choc chip cookie - which, btw, was also pretty great. Speaking of greatness.... besides the mentioned items, I endorse the following dishes: chicken burger which was m-m-moist & delish, the roasted apples & bacon with shisito peppers, maple, tardivo, and candied lemon rind, and the flatbread appetizer with crisp mushrooms, roasted kale and truffle cream. Our waitress was more than accommodating. it was our first time there, and she was eager to introduce us to some of the restaurants notable dishes. the only negative was the music volume. maybe it was a bumped up by mistake. it felt like we were in a trendy club rather than having a late lunch.

I have eaten here at least 10 times The service is always top notch The food is good to very good However the vegetables that often accompany the main course are often over cooked and very meager portions. It's verging on being too expensive for what is received. The other problem is the noise. It's almost impossible to have a conversation Brunch is excellent especially in the summer when they open all the windows

My wife and I had a great meal at North. Let me walk you through it: Upon entering, we were greeted by a very bubbly receptionist who immediately had us seated. We were 15 minutes early for our reservation, so it was nice not to wait. Granted we went during the week, so I wouldn't expect this sort of treatment on a busier day. One of the staff was walking around with a bread basket and gave us a choice of the gluten-free bread and focaccia. The bread was accompanied by pickled-beet butter. Sounds odd but was amazing. I am not used to salted butter, so a little dab was fine. The focaccia was delicious, the gluten-free bread, not so much. For apps, I got a caesar salad. They don't call it that, but I'm not fancy. It was fresh and good. My wife got the pickled grape risotto. Very flavorful and filling. It seemed like a small portion, but it's so damn creamy. As an entree, I ordered the roasted pig and my wife got the bobo's chicken (i forget the name, but it's something like that. The pig came with spaetzle with a honey-sriracha sauce. That sauce was awesome. The pig itself was tasty, but being of Hispanic decent, it didn't compare to my mom's pernil. I also could have done without the bits of bacon, since it seemed overwhelming. However, I don't each a lot of pork to begin with, so a "man's man" would probably love this. My wife's chicken was perfectly cooked and tasty. For dessert, we ignored all the fancy sounded options and went with the chocolate chip cookie. It was gooey and delicious. The service was probably the best I've had. There were like 3 wait staff that made rounds to make sure our glasses were never empty and we were never needing anything. Everyone was nice, professional, and great. Overall, we loved our meal. However, I think the place is a bit too fancy for our liking, but it is in Armonk, so I guess that's the norm. My wife and I are both simple people, who would much rather share a pizza, but if we ever get a hankering for something a little more classy, we now know where to go.

I loved the restaurant upon walking in. It has a very cute and quaint atmosphere. At the risk of sounding like a snobby New Yorker, I'll say that the food was great for Westchester, but nothing special in comparison to restaurants in Manhattan. I loved the biscuit and butternut squash soup, but didn't love the rest of my meal. I had red fish, which tasted too fishy and just not that good; and didn't love the cookie dessert. Overall, though, a really lovely, classy restaurant.

Great cocktails! I was thrilled that they offered gluten free bread to start with apple butter. I had sockeye salmon that was cooked to perfection and my friend the swordfish that delicious. If you are looking for a quieter setting be sure to ask to be seated upstairs.

I'm very conflicted in terms of star rating for this review. We went there for a birthday dinner and were sat in a very awkward location near the door. We requested to be moved and the hostess and staff were more than accommodating. That was the problem: between letting us know our new table would be ready soon to asking us how our new table was, we were literally asked eight different times by six different people. We began to feel almost uncomfortable that we were such a topic of conversation amongst the staff. We started with pasta and shared a gnocchi dish that left much to be desired. Things took off for the positive from there. I had the venison, which is apparently farm raised, and extremely tender. Incredible dish. My date had the salmon which she enjoyed equally. For dessert we went with the cookie which, though simple, hit the spot. I need to go back, try this place again and perhaps revisit this review at some point. In the meantime I can not recommend with enthusiasm.

I had a great time at this restaurant. Order the prefix lunch but wanted to change the main dish to a different dish that was not on the menu and the chef was glade to change this and also for 2 other person at the other table near me. My friend ordered the burger look so good I will try that next time I am there. Waiter I have was to nice and the other waiter that fill my empty glass with water.

Came here for my birthday and had an excellent meal. We sat upstairs, highly suggest you request to be seated upstairs, the sound level is much better for actually having a conversation. Our server was Erin, she was great and patient with our many questions. I really enjoyed my wine- Grenache Blanc. We started with the Heirloom Tomato Salad, Risotto and were given the hazelnut encrusted egg. All were delicious and different taste sensations. The standout for me was the risotto. I shared the soft shell crab appetizer with blueberries and corn (it comes with 2 crabs). It was creamy and rich and filling, but a really unique and appreciated combination of flavors. We were all too full to order dessert, even though I had my heart set on the skillet cookie. Really nice touch was the muffin we were given to take home and enjoy the next morning. Which I did!

Chrystie went above & beyond the call of duty & made my dining experience exceptional. Despite of the fact that I only order the duck breast, she got me a complimentary tuna tartare because she knew that the duck breast would take a while. It paired perfectly with the Billecart-Salmon Brut rosé NV, which has been and will be one of my fav rosé Champagne. The other one is the Krug rosé Champagne. Kudos to Chrystie!

We take a trip to North at least once a year (we live 1500 miles away!) and are never disappointed. Chef Eric always has something new on the menu that I can't wait to try! We love to see the local farms listed on the menu, and the selection of seasonal items makes every meal special. Didn't know I liked trout until we had it here! The whole pig dish was my partner's favorite meal yet! Gluten free pasta was tastier than any traditional pasta I've ever had and my kids loved it. Mushroom flatbread is crispy and so tasty - a must try! The whole family even loves the soundtrack here... The only thing that could improve the meal experience is a view other than the parking lot.

Wow was that bad. Today's lunch was one of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. Service was great, and professional, like always. The dining room is clean and simple, the beer I got, while overpriced, was excellent. I wish I could say the same for the food. I've been to North maybe 5 times since it opened, and I've had good, or excellent experiences almost every time. Until now. Many of my favorite menu items - the duck, soft-shell crab, shaved vegetable flatbread were all missing. In their place were more sandwhichy fare, clearly aimed at the lunch crowd, and that's fine. But if you're going to do that, the lunch menu has to be good. We had the Nettle Soup, the flat wide pasta with pancetta (can't remember its name), a BLT and a Tuna Tar Tar. The Nettle Soup tasted like they had thrown iceberg lettuce in a blender. I like nettles, they're a great garnish, but apparently not good for a puree. It was hot, and although I don't know for sure, I suspect it would have been much better cold. The pasta was very much on the uncooked side of al dente. I like my pasta al dente, I do not like having to chew my pasta so much my jaw is tired. The pancetta itself was fine, but nothing special. The BLT was okay, but I could make a better one in my kitchen. The bacon was good, the rest of it was middling at best. The Tuna Tar Tar was the only saving grace, I've had it before and I've loved it and was not disappointed, but at 19 dollars for about as much tuna as I'd get in a 4 dollar piece of decent tuna sushi. I was pretty disappointed with the price hike (pretty sure it used to be 16 or 17, which is already too much). Take this review with a grain of salt. I've had great experiences there, and can recommend some of the entrees, but from what I've tasted so far - skip lunch. General recommendations - fish entrees (other than the cod and shellfish) usually disappoint, but beef entrees are usually quite good. STAY AWAY FROM PASTA. I'm sure it can be good, but I've yet to have good pasta from North. Flatbreads range from bland to thrilling, look for powerful flavors that can survive against the bread and sauces. Interesting appetizers can be hit or miss, but take the risk, because when they work, they really do.

I took a trip up to north last week and tried quite a few dishes. Everything was pretty damn amazing. North's Chef Eric Gabrynowicz is a very energetic chef with some crazy off the wall idea's usualy revolving around some kind of pork product and they all work seamlessly. The menu may have quite a few of pork dishes but they also have a lot of other tasty dishes, like the Duck dish with corn and blueberries, the salads are simple and amazing. the flatbread pizza's are to die for and with an exceptional Sommelier, you'll never go wrong with the wine selection. Also you would be remiss if you did not have one of their really amazing skillet desserts. Save room!

Ate dinner solo at at the bar one weekday night a few weeks back. Bartender and staff were friendly and talkative to me. They gave me a free drink of this vodka soaking in a hot peppers barrel just bc I asked about it- really good stuff- prob amazing in a bloody. My main course was fabulous- a high end version of pulled pork with fried potatoes and the above mentioned hot peppers. French press coffee was amazing- strong and very flavorful. This place def has it going on- they aspire to rare heights of food, service and the total rest exp.- something that most westchester rest's simply do not have. This place is not cheap- but it is worth the extra money. I will be going back, even if I have to sit solo again!

Service here is immaculate. I've been here 3 times and each time the staff has made me feel more special than the last time, if that makes any sense. Our server was extremely attentive to our food allergies. Food is delicious and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend making reservations because it tends to get busy around 8 or 9 p.m. daily. It's cute, small, and intimate if you're looking to have meaningful conversation with friends or looking for a romantic connection with a loved one.

Restaurant North lived up to all the reviews I had heard from people in the area. It is a foodie's wish come true! The food was amazing and the presentation was beautiful - can food be beautiful? The fresh & thoughtful blending of the ingredients were just amazing and I am still thinking of the homemade Gnocchi I had. The group I was with shared my sentiment and thoroughly enjoyed the venison, beef & pork chop dishes. I will be going back soon!!

I've been to North three times and they are going downhill. We arrived at 6:30 and were seated immediately. Service was excellent throughout the evening. The four of us ordered different meals, Pork with polenta, filet mignon with short ribs, lamb carbonara and finally a Bubba's burger which had to be sent back. All in all, food was just ok, not great, too salty and we mentioned it to our waiter. Probably will not go back.

During a recent work event we came to Restaurant North for a wonderful dinner. I had checked out the place online and I was happy to see the place was every bit as lovely in person as it looked on the web site. The interior is reminiscent of an old house with white walls with some dark wood and tasteful furniture and light fixtures. There are two levels. The lower level has a small bar and a bit more seating than upstairs where we sat. The rest rooms are on the first level. The service in Restaurant North was spot on. The hostess was super friendly, the waiters and waitresses were very attentive. I never had to helplessly look for a waiter and nor did my water glass ever stay empty. There was only one oddity, not enough to lose a star, but still something weird: there was no salt and pepper at the table. When we did ask for it, instead of shakers they came in a small two segment pinch bowl. It was cute, and I didn't mind but some coworkers found it unsanitary (truthfully I didn't mind). We ordered off a prix fixe menu with two to three selections per section. Here's what I chose: Pumpernickel Bread This is actually served standard with all meals I learned. It comes with an apple butter that was wonderful. The bread was warm and soft and had a slightly sweet flavor. Beet and goat cheese salad A small salad but really nicely balanced between sweet and savory flavors. It was very basic but also elegant in presentation. The greens were nice and crisp while the beets were nice and tender. Salmon with roasted Brussels The salmon was perfectly cooked. It was tender and flaked apart very nicely. I also liked the beautiful sear on the skin, making it crispy and delicious! The brussels were super tasty and nicely caramelized. A wonderful dish overall. Pear upside down cake This "mini cake" was just the right size for one person. It basically tasted like an awesome apple pie but more subtle in flavor with a nice, sticky but crisp exterior and a chewy interior. I'm glad this thing wasn't too big because I could have easily eaten two! I don't go up this way often, but if I am back in the area Restaurant North will definitely be one of my "to go" places!

I thought about this for some time as I wanted to have a clear head when I posted this review. My girlfriend made reservations last night at the restaurant. We live in NYC. It was my birthday and knowing how much I love driving north of the city, she decided to take me to a restaurant with wonderful reviews on Yelp. We arrived at Restaurant North after getting lost for a bit. We called in advance explaining our situation; no problem was the hostess' reply. When we arrived, we found to our surprise, a fairly empty restaurant. It was 6:30. Most of the reviews talked about how crowded it can be. Upon our arrival after that long drive, I had to use the men's room. When I returned to the dining room, I looked for my girlfriend and didn't see her. To my surprise they sat her near the front door by the bar behind the only sliver of wall in a mostly window dominated room. I would understand this seating if the restaurant was packed, coupled with the fact that we were late, but the restaurant was 3/4 empty. When we asked to move, the waitress gave a face and proceeded to move us to the middle of the dining room. I don't know about most folks but its a weird feeling sitting in the middle of an almost empty dining room. I hesitate to say this but the fact is we were the only people of color in the restaurant; while that may not have played a part in how & where we were seated it was enough to make us feel unwelcome. Let me point out, none of this came from the other diners. I've been to many restaurants and never have I felt discriminated against or unwelcome. Its an awful feeling. Needless to say, I cannot comment on the food as I decided to excuse my girlfriend & myself from the restaurant. We returned to the city to eat and not feel discriminated against nor judged.

Restaurant North is a big change for the culinary desert known as Armonk. The farm to table cuisine from a pair of NYC trained partners is not what we are used to in Armonk. Went for an early dinner with co-workers and opted for shared small plates instead of the large entrees offered. Started with an amazing Tuna Tartare. Perfectly cubed raw tuna over pureed avocado with thin sliced radish was incredible. That was followed by a Crab Risotto that was near perfection. Next up was a perfectly crisp Flatbread topped with Arugula, Parmesan, Ricotta and grilled Asparagus and an "Earthy" Mushroom Tarte Tatin with goat cheese. This wasn't my choice as I'm not a big goat cheese fan, but I had a second serving it was so mellow. There is a full bar with wine, designer cocktails, and beer on tap from Captain Lawrence. Overall, the food was amazing and a welcome change to the Armonk culinary scene. This restaurant was a little formal for my taste, but I'm sure there are plenty of other that will flock here. Me, I'll be sitting at the bar, drinking the Captain Lawrence Imperial IPA and eating one of their great flatbreads.

Others who've expressed disappointment and have taken exception to the rude manner the hostess treats pardons hit the nail on its head! Employing a spoiled, yuppy Generation-Y snob as your hostess who has no concept of money and how to treat those who solely contribute towards her paycheck is probably not a sound business decision. I couldn't tell you about the quality of the food or anything else for that matter, as upon a few seconds of interacting with the hostess we turned around and left bringing our business gladly to another restaurant who truly value their customers.

They have a great twenty five dollar lunch prefix, after eating all selections on it, I keep looking on there web sight weekly, hoping for a new one. Gave up and ordered from the regular menu. The Hawaii tuna tartar was very tasty but the Large amount of mashed avocado makes this app to heavy, especially in late spring heat. The Bobo Farm Chicken arrived Crispy, Moist, and flavorful. The asparagus and potatoes underneath were equally good. I've also had a perfect pasta and braised beef here and many great desserts. I had the problem of my Burger falling apart. (don't you just hate that) Maybe it's the small but Thick onion on the top middle. Maybe if they spread the sciraia aioli on the bottom bun it would protect the bread from the Abundant squirt of juice after just one bite .....................................................................Of THE BURGER SO JUICY I MUST WONDER ARE THERE MELTED ICE CHIPS IN THE CENTER?

My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's Day here (one day late) and had an amazing experience. We were treated with the utmost respect the moment we entered the door. We tried a Pinot Gris, something we had never had and it was excellent. We started with the bacon, goat cheese and grilled pear flatbread and we decided we would be back based on that alone. I had a mushroom rigatoni and my boyfriend tried the 2 steak dish, we both loved our meals. The presentation and portion size were perfect. We split the homemade cookie a la mode for dessert and we were pleasantly surprised that it was not just a warmed cookie with a dollop of ice cream, but a freshly baked cookie, simply delicious! We also were treated to complimentary Rose champagne, although my boyfriend would not fess up to arranging it, I believe it was complimentary as he mentioned we were celebrating Valentine's Day. We had no complaints whatsoever and we cannot wait to go back.

came here for dinner with a friend. we sat upstairs, it was quiet and cosy. the waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. we ordered a burger and a chicken pot pie. both were pretty salty. they gave us a little baked good to take home, and i thought that was a nice touch. i would give this place another try, the downstairs looked pretty jumpin by the time we left so maybe ill be back for drinks.

The extreme noise overwhelms the otherwise attractive atmosphere. You can't hear your partner or even the waitress. The food is excellent but the overall experience is unpleasant.

Always fantastic-food, service, ambiance. So glad they are nearby! I've never been a regular at a restaurant in my life until North!

Everything at North is fine-fine food, fine service, fine ambience. Nothing is spectacular. Our server couldn't describe 2 appetizers when asked, they arrived much too quickly, maybe they wanted our table. The burger is good but nowhere near Colicchio and Sons or DBGBs. The fish was nothing different than i have had in establishments all over Westchester. No amuse bouche to start. Only one toilet in ladies room--ladies room FAIL. Wines by glass come in tiny carafes but no taste first, as seems to be so much common these days. Don't understand why the reservations are so tough. Meh!

If you can, get a table upstairs, otherwise it's loud. Started the meal with fresh, hot bread. +1. wine list is...pricey, but good selection. Local brewery Captain Lawrence +1. Appetizers came out in 3 minutes flat...no exaggeration. Carbonara flatbread was good, charred. Waitress said they have "become known for [their flatbread]. Not sure why. Tuna tartare was...chunky, but very fresh. Maybe a touch too much lime. Merry Edwards Pinot was fabulous. Cod was good, slightly undercooked, crust was perfect but over salted, which with cod shouldn't be. Wife's bucatini was very good, save for the piece of shell, but I'm guessing a menu mainstay and not "farm to table" (note sarcasm). Doubt the pasta was made on premises but good none the less. Better of the two main courses unfortunately. I'm still tasting the salt and pepper from the cod. After 45 minutes the plates were taken away. Coffee - French press - was watery which was surprising. And it was "pre-pressed", it came to the table handle down. Made to order red velvet cake? Heavenly. Overall good, but for the price should have been better. Why can't the great NY chef/owners bring the goods to the burbs?

Early dinner after Jones Beach! While sitting near the open front wall with a nice soft breeze we were first greeted by a sweet David Byrne, Beck, U2 and....... playlist, masterfully selected - energy and calm. Kale and quinoa salad, then....... well should I start with sauces, no perhaps accompaniments, no main event preparations.......... all competing for our attention. Roasted chicken with blueberries and polenta! Salmon barely pan seared atop a medley of thin sliced squash & peppers. How did they get that soft creamy sauce?.....! The wines by the glass were varied and delicious. The staff devoted to making sure we were pleased.......not an issue! So, without making it hard for us to get a reservation next time, make sure to enjoy North. We did!!!!!

Had another very good experience at North last night. Had the pasta chitarra as an appetizer and scallops as the entree. Both were very fresh and well prepared. Chocolate chip cookie and ice cream as dessert. Excellent. Good wine selection. Very friendly and attentive service.

Best restaurant in Armonk in my opinion. I had a great experience and I think price is worth it 100%. This is one of the few restaurants around here that doesn't make me regret not going to the city. I'll surely be back!

We had a OpenTable reservation for weeks, however the host wanted us to sit at the lone table in front of the door on a very cold day. I refused so he sat us next to a table of 6 with their chairs four inches to our table, ugh. We both had Bloody Mary's, very bland, couldn't taste vodka. I had the hamburger which I ordered med-rare, it came raw. I sent it back, it came back in 3 minutes still very raw. Manager kind enough to take it off bill, however I could not recommend or ever return. Even my friends egg dish was not good, he said it was very subpar.
