We've been a few times now and it's only getting better! Beer list is still solid (and always seasonal) and the service is becoming more consistent. On our last visit, my cousin was back home for the weekend and was looking for a Monday afternoon fish fry, so we were psyched to see they served it at that time! It looked delicious (see pic) and she said it was... so I stole a bite. Perfectly tender fish with perfectly crunchy beer batter (made with Flying Bison Aviator Red, in fact). The fries were a little weird, but I think the fryer just wasn't hot enough because they were different than they were on our last visit. I love that the burger list can be replaced with chicken or turkey instead of beef. My current go-to is the "sweet and spicy goat," covered in creamy goat cheese, sweet chili sauce, and crunchy fried jalapenos. (Note: as of 2.5.13, the menu online is relatively accurate but not 100%). It's super delicious. And a nod to the pretzel bread. Everyone loves pretzel bread!

Not sure why the Ebenezer Ale House was not listed in "Don't be late for the Game." Terrific food, great selection of beers and VERY close to the stadium. One of the best sports bars around!

By far an amazing resteraunt. The food is always delicious, plentiful, and proportional to their prices. They offer you to sit at the bar, a dining room near the bar, a separate room, or outside. Even sitting outside the service is amazing! The atmosphere is awesome, and they offer delicious craft beers. Definitely reccomended !

Always a great place to meet up for a beer and some grub. Yummy as always. Had the fish fry for the first time and it was delicious. Amazing beer selection. Something good for anyone. The manager was great, stopped by to make sure everything was good and said "thank you for coming in, we really appreciate you being here." That's the way to do it.

One of the better choices in the Southtowns is you're looking for craft beers and good bar food. Every time I stop on it gets better and better. Wide selection of beers with a good range of styles.

Ebenezar is a cool sports bar with a huge back porch. I had a Brooklyn Chocolate Russian imperial stout and Reuben sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. The beer was good, but next time I would have a different Brooklyn beer or some other option. The food was *drool* awesome. The menu offered a wide vareity of wing sauces, and then there are wing specials. I will have to try those, the next time i am in West Seneca. I picked my meal based on the waitresses favorite 2 items from the menu. I always think it's fun to ask the workers what they prefer. Sometimes they give BS answers, I am sure, but it helps me to try new things. In this case, I already loved macaroni and cheese and reuben sandwiches. After tasting the reuben sandwich, I felt this was the best Reuben i have ever eaten in my life. Soo good. The meat was easy to bite through and so juicy. My stomach never agrees with sauerkraut, but I will worry about that later. My friend had a steak sandwich (should have gotten the Reuben). It was good, but it was NOT the Reuben. It was good and had a gravy on the sandwich with a side of chips. I enjoyed how they actually make their own chips. I look down on places when they charge you extra for fries but want to give you chips for free with a meal. It just makes me think they are lazing out and pouring chips from a bag. Ebenezar includes many different sides with their meals. At one point my friend was wanting to get a waitress for extra napkins. A couple that were not ours walked by and she was sad,. Our waitress, Dani, walked by and when we thought she didn't see our look of need, she plops a gigantic stack of napkins without us having to ask her. Mind reader Dani! What super service. Dani was friendly and attentive. So... the food was excellent and my service from our waitress was great.

I have been here a few times sometimes to drink and sometimes to eat. The food is simply amazing and apparently the rumor is that the chef used to work at bar Louie? Not sure if that's true... Anyways I have tried the following things and have been VERY satisfied: Bavarian Pretzel Sticks.... These are amazing and worth a try. Mediterranean Platter Spinach and Artichoke Dip Roasted Garlic Smashed Potatoes Black and Blue Burger Here is the menu link, Have a look for yourself: ebenezeralehouse.com/Ale… In terms of atmosphere, I would say this restaurant/ bar is cozy but not crowded. The dining tables are away from the bar so you can eat without being elbowed in the face. In the summer, the porch is gorgeous and nice to relax on. I would recommend it for a nice beer with chicken wings around happy hour time.

Went to this joint on a total whim for search of a local burger while in West Seneca and damn what a nice spot! It was Spring when I went to that sick back porch was not open yet due to the weather but looks like a place I want to be drinking a cold one this summer. More importantly I had a goat cheese jalapeno burger that knocked my damn socks off! I think those are the best experiences also when you go in with no expectations then BAM! That thing was dynamite.... and so was my date's. The sweet potato fries were awesome as well. I have only been here once so far but I will be sure to update my review when I return!

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because I've only eaten here once and I wasn't thrilled but so many other people have given such great reviews and feedback that I'd like to go back again and give them another chance. So I may come back and change the review to something more favorable... I went for a fish fry and my guest and I waited an overly long time for a table, the bar was PACKED with barely any room to even walk through, let alone get to the bar and order a drink, the dining area is right next to the bar area and because there were so many people drinking and talking it was extremely loud. We waited I'm guessing 35-45 min for a table and then were seated at a small table in the middle of the bar area with groups of people drinking all around us. The fish fry itself was good, the portion is big, sides were tasty and fresh and the fish was crispy and light, not too greasy. Good fish fry. If you don't mind a loud, crowded bar/tavern atmosphere while you eat then this place is for you. Like I said, I will go back on a weeknight when its not so crowded and try it again. Hopefully it won't be so loud and busy.

Such a great local restaurant. Great beer selection, always great food and the place is always packed. Had the fish fry last night. It was perfect.

Service was terrible. We came in at 1pm and didn't receive our food until 2:45. Two in our party had to leave before the food came and when the food did come out it did not come out at once. We even told our server that we had somewhere to be.

  • Pat Z.

Warning - watch the pricing on the beer you order. I'm slightly embarrassed to say I paid $8 for a 12oz glass of Great Lakes Stout. Seems pricey to me. Wish I would have asked before the pour. Don't go poor before the pour.

Excuse me, I ordered the HALF rack of ribs. "Yes, that IS the half rack" WOW! A huge half rack of ribs, drizzled with fried onions, with the best tasting fries on the side, with a cup of slaw. WAIT, there's more.. .25 wings, raspberry chipotle? Really? They were awesome tasting and $3 drafts! Great atmosphere, service and of course the food. Will definitely be back..... SOON!

  • Nate N.

Happy Hour is the time to hit this place. Almost all craft draft pints $3 and half price appetizers!! I was seated fairly quickly, and my server was very attentive. She filled me in quickly on the Happy Hour deals, and took my drink order. Craft beer selection was good, cold and bubbly. Couldn't pass up the half price aps, so made a meal of the stuffed banana peppers and Steak Nachos. Both were very good. Sorry that I cannot report on more, but I will be sure to update you on my next trip, as I am sure that I will re-visit Ebenezer's.

Definitely do not eat here as much as I should. Never had a bad meal, never had bad service and never left unsatisfied. Great atmosphere with great people. Huge fan of the angel po boy and can't recommend it enough.

I have passed this place many times on the way out towards Southgate plaza and have always been curious so I finally looked it up here on Yelp. I'm glad that I did because the rave reviews made me even more curious to check it out for myself. So when the opportunity to try a new Friday night dinner spot instead of our normal go-to's, I suggested trying Ebenezer! First off, when we got here we were told there was a 45 minute wait. Yikes. Since we had already set on eating here, we ended up giving our name and running up to Southgate to get a few errands done while we had to wait. We came back after about 40 minutes or so and were promptly seated. I have to say that honestly, I get pretty impatient about waiting, but in this case I'm glad we did and all things considered (Friday night, Lent Season, Sabres game on...), it wasn't a horrible wait. One of the few negatives I have to report of our experience tonight happened before we were even seated. As we were being directed to our table I tripped on the carpet that was curling up near our table. I didn't fall (thank god! haha), but I can definitely see this being dangerous! Also, when I looked down to see what I tripped on, I noticed the remains of a piece of bread on the floor. Gross! I brushed this off in hope that it wasn't a sign of bad things to come. I was definitely right because the rest of the night was spot on! We started off with drinks, and since Ebenezer offers an impressive selection of different beers, I of course ordered something as no-frills as can be: a Coors light. haha. The waitress told us it was on special tonight so we couldn't resist. I'm not a huge fan of many of the crazier beers out there anyways. I'll stick to my boring overrated domestic thanks. ;) Though my sister was very happy to see one of her favorites, Mckenzie Black Cherry Cider on their list and ordered it right away. I will note that I very much appreciate that Ebenezer has a website with their menu (INCLUDING PRICES) available because it really drives me crazy when places do not. I feel like there's really no excuse with how easy it is to make even a blog for free, that all restaurants should have a menu online. Since we had already perused the menu online, that definitely helped lessen the overwhelming feeling of their menu! I ended up choosing the Bruschetta burger, which my sister got the Ale House burger. Mom got the Betty sandwhich with a size of macaroni and cheese, and her boyfriend got the Ale House Rib eye. Descriptions from their menu: Bruschetta Burger -Prosciutto, fontinella, garlic roma salsa, pesto aioli, toasted ciabatta roll. Ale House Burger - Stout-caramelized onion, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, cheddar, buttered, grilled roll. The Betty - Sage-roasted turkey, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, cranberry mayo, sourdough bread. Macaroni & Cheese - Smoked gouda, cheddar, parmesan, cream, prosciutto, pasta. Ale House Rib Eye - 16 oz . dry-rubbed hand-cut rib eye, Flying Bison Aviator Red-battered onion rings, roasted garlic smashed potatoes, veggie. It took quite a while for our food to arrive but when it did, we quickly realized that the wait was worth it! I tried my chips first and while some of them were a bit burnt, it definitely did not ruin them by any means. They had a unique flavor to them and were nice and crispy. Next up we all tried the macaroni and cheese. We noticed it on the entree section of the menu and they had us at the word prosciutto. Love. I like that they used penne for the dish, and the smoked Gouda added an awesome touch. However, it could have been a bit creamier. There were many pieces of pasta that were completely dry. Luckily the taste of the Gouda and prosciutto made up for that. The burgers...the first bite of my burger was an eye-opening experience. I will risk saying that of all the burgers I've had over the years, this has got to be the BEST. Or at the very least, in the top three. Perhaps it's just the Italian in me but this burger was a work of art. The ciabatta - toasted perfectly. The pesto aioli I would have eaten on it's own. The garlic roma salsa was delicious. Again, there was my love - prosciutto. Heaven on a bun. The only downside to how awesome this burger was is that I fear that the next time we venture here, I may just get the same damn thing. ;) I tried a bite of both the Ale House burger and the Betty, and both were spot on. Though I have to say the cranberry mayo on the Betty really made an impression on me. Delicious. I also tried a bite of the steak and even though it was done well done (I perfer medium), it still tasted great. Often times I feel that well done equals tasteless and dry. Not here. The steak was still as flavorful and juicy as it should be. I think that anyone who finds themselves in the area of Ebenezer Ale House needs to try this place out. It is truly a gem, especially for the area that does not boast all that much for great food. It was definitely worth the risk!

The best part of Ebenezer Ale House is... well... the beer. And the people - the wait staff I have always found to be extremely friendly, but that could be the beer talking. ;) No, it's not. They are great. The food is good. The pizza is completely disappointing, hence the 4 stars. But if you're looking for a good pub-style experience, the Ale House is a great place to go in the Southtowns. I often host business meetings there, and they are always very accommodating. However, in the average customer experience they are just as accommodating. The beer selections are always diverse, with dozens of bottled and on-tap choices. If you fan their Facebook page you can get the 4-1-1 on what is new and what promotions they have running. Happy hour is daily with half-priced appetizers, so the Ale House makes a great after-work destination for the locals. The atmosphere is plenty lively and with a wall of flat-screens behind the bar, they always have on multiple events for everyone's taste. I would recommend checking them out the next time you're in West Seneca/Elma.

This is our new go-to spot when we don't know where to go for dinner. I typically hate eating in taverns, especially with our young son, but this is a nice setting and the bar crowd is pretty subdued (tables are set way back from the bar, so you can still see the tv screens but not hear the bar chatter). The food is upscale bar food. Lots of nice choices here for sandwiches and salads. The macaroni is fantastic -- though my little guy refuses to touch it because it's "fancy tasting". The soft pretzel sticks are very good, though they may want to re-think that mustard dip. Good beer selection. The wine selection is ...eh, but it's fine for a local bar type joint. We've never had poor service and the wait staff has always been pretty good. I cut my hand a bit on a chipped piece of the glass top on the table. Our server showed definite care and concern (though I didn't think it was a big deal and just notified her so they could remove the top after we'd left). I know others here have mentioned the service issues and, while that hasn't been a problem for us, things do seem to move a little more slowly than in other restaurants. We have not eaten on the patio because it looked a bit rowdy this summer, but I hope to check it out next year.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on my way through town. Unfortunately I had a long drive ahead of me so beers were out of the question, which is a shame since this place has a great selection. I started with the French onion soup which for a cup was a nice size. Tons of cheese over French bread and a decent onion base. The only fault was that it was a bit on the salty side. Next I had the beef on weck with chips a pickle. The sandwich was a little disappointing compared to others I've had, mostly because of the bun; the prime rib was nice and tasty. The chips were home made and had a really nice crisp to them, and were thicker cut than you normally see, which I really liked. Service was excellent. Not sure if that was because I was only one of two tables, or in spite of it, but either way - great. Three stars for good, but not great, food with terrific service. Next time I'll stop in for beers.

The best part about Ebenezer Ale House is the building. Today's service was inexcusably poor. It was not at all crowded during this lunchtime, a couple of people shooting the breeze at the bar, a four-top on the patio and a sprinkling of two-toppers. And us two. The server really could not have been slower to greet us, not that we were in a hurry. Let's say that it's best to avoid this place if you only have an hour for lunch! The server was just not that into serving. Instead of providing customer service, she was faintly put out at the inquiry of on-tap beer selections, and sauntered to the bar to fetch a printed piece for us to review (psst, there were not too many to discuss, this IS part of your job.) We ordered one red and one gold and were served by and by. We ordered very different meals, and again, a ghastly long wait. We were enjoying our conversation and all, but good grief. He tried the Sweet and Spicy Goat, a chuck steak burger with breaded jalapenos, sweet Asian chili sauce, goat cheese, on a buttered, grilled roll. It came with lettuce, tomato and onion, plus lots of (shiny) french fries. She had a house salad and French onion soup. Not one item was remarkable in any way. There were no take-home boxes necessary. The French onion soup was quite similar in taste to a canned variety, only with twice the salt. It came hot, which is good, with a thin layer of cheese melted atop, with very brown cheese bubbles glued to the side of the cup, burnt really. When the spoon broke the cheese seal, the cheese sprung into a glob and sank pitifully to the bottom of the cup. The salad looked very nice, crisp croutons and tiny diced tomato pieces on top. One slice of cucumber was divided into four pieces, skimpy seeing as it's cuke season in WNY. He was truly unimpressed with his meal. We did order a second beer and after some time, were told something about the CO2 tank needed replacing and the manager was on the way. Hmmm. She turned heel and 30 minutes later, returned to see if we still wanted that beer. Eventually, the server left the bill in the black billfold and returned mighty quickly, having obviously overcome her Tortoise Nervosa, and asked if she needed to bring us change. We both rolled our eyes at that; he said to himself, no, keep the change on that hundred. She didn't even know what was IN the billfold! People in food service, say this over and over until it is branded in your mind: I will be right back with this! (IF you do NOT need to come back, trust us diners, we will let you know.) Never ask if you need change, tsk, tsk. Cliche. Passé. Tacky. Ebenezer Ale House is a two thumbs down. I hope I can revise this review some time in the future, but before I do, some things have got to change. Two stars is generous, for the building and the beer. This place has SO much potential, it's in a neat building, has a great bar, lots of seating, many windows, tons of parking, a patio. So this is your wake-up call! Train your servers to pretend this is the ONE day in a YEAR that each party that enters your door eats out: make it special so they will come back. Also mention to your servers that everyone who enters Ebenezer Ale House may be an internet restaurant reviewer and you need to impress absolutely every person. Endear them so they write five-star positive reviews.

First off let me say, First two times at the Ale House, were great. I loved it, good food, drinks, and prices. Maybe service was the only beef I had but eh was fine. Third visit leads me to believe that the service part might be catching up to them. We visited over the weekend afternoon. Me and my guest went to the hostess station, and no one was there. While waiting someone from the kitchen notices us tells us oh, just seat yourself there is no hostess. Not even a sign. Now the food was not great but the thing that erked me was the filth on all the dishes, glasses had lip stick on them, and the mini pitches we full of grime. YUCK. Fix this, and I'll change my review.

Absolutely amazing. Really great craft beer on tap. The steak pizza was insane. They even asked us how we wanted the steak prepared- that's when we knew it was a serious place. The chicken wings we totally on par with Duff's or Anchor Bar with at least 15 different flavors. The Chipotle Raspberry were delicious! We also tried the Double Decker Rueben (best Rueben I've ever tasted. Melts in your mouth). And a Korean BBQ sandwich special which was equally as delicious. We can't wait to go back.

Nice atmosphere, friendly bartender. Great wings-- nice and plump. Shrimp Po Boy left a lot to be desired, namely the doughy roll. Nice cold tap beer. Place had a pretty bad odor of stale beer when we visited. Nice decor.

The Ebenezer Ale House is only a few years old now but is a nice stop to make when I am home visiting. They have a great food menu and even better selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Their beer prices are pretty decent for an Ale House, which makes trying tons of different beers fairly inexpensive.

My favorite place in the suburbs to eat. The service is OK - but I've tried probably 20 different things on the menu and everything has been amazing!

We were there last Tuesday 4/02 and our server Angela was great. Angela & Sarah B. are the only 2 server's we have had that have been both pleasant and attentive. I had the Burger with spicy Asian sauce w/ goat cheese and i musr admit, it was one of the best brugers I have had. My sweet potato fries came out not "crispy" as asked and Angeal pleasantly took them back to the kitchen and arrived several minutes later w/ pipin hot sweet fries. My dining partner had the Ale House burger and was a pleased as myself. The beer selection is always great and 3.00 pints for Happy Hour for 3-7 is the "deal".....My new favorite watering hole....WIll go back again & again......

We visited this place again.....This time I got the BBQ Meatloaf dinner....I am a big stickler when it comes to Meatloaf so stay tuned.....JoJo got the BBQ Chicken Salad..... When it comes to Meatloaf I am a very hard one to please....In fact I can't remember the last time I actually liked a meatloaf out at a restaurant....JoJo makes a couple of different good ones so I am very spoiled.... The BBQ Meatloaf here came with an Ale House Gravy on top it along with Onion Strings...The meatloaf also had decent amount of garlic in it too.....All I can say here is total flavor explosion ! It was soooooooo delicious.....I also ordered a side of BBQ sauce which I used to dip the meatloaf in....Oh yeah, and if you get this don't forget to get a forkfull of meatloaf and Onion Strings at the same time ! Mmmm !! ....It was very tender, and you got quite a large portion.....One of the best meatloafs I have ever eaten !! It came with smashed garlic potatoes which were slightly on the dry side...I actually ordered an extra side of Ale House Gravy which I put on these - definitely made them better.....Other wise I would have called them rather average.... The other side it came with was veggies....That day's veggies were green beans which were very meh IMO...... JoJo thought the salad was probably a 5....It was soo good she didn't even need dressing..... I really want to bump this place up to 5 stars even with the rather average sides....The meatloaf is just that good.....However, we had some problems with this waitress....Again slightly on the slow side as last time....Which that is not a big deal but she just was not that attentive, and we also had problems with the bill.....After speaking with management I was satisfied that they would remedy the problem..... I was also so full from this meal that we decided to drive to the Galleria Mall in a snow storm so that we could walk off the calories. :-)

Salad, salad, salad! The salads are large and very good. I expected a smaller salad for lunch so I also ordered the meatloaf sandwich. I expected 1 quarter of an iceberg head. The iceberg wedge salad has 2 quarters of a head along with blue cheese crumbles (not dressing), bacon and other goodies. I asked for blue cheese dressing on the side and didn't need much of it since the blue cheese crumbles were generous and fresh. Other salads are the same size as the wedge salad and my companions were very happy with their choices. The meatloaf sandwich has bacon, melted cheese, and tasty fried onion on it. The bread is thick and warmed presumably in the same pan used to warm the meatloaf and melt the cheese. The dining room is comfortable with large windows. A great visit.

We have eaten here on many occasions so I thought I better write a review. We love this place. GREAT food. Great Service! Great beers. What else can you ask for? Whatever I have ordered has been fantastic. Salads, sandwiches, burgers. My husband and Father in Law ordered the special of Long/Short Ribs. WHOA. HUGE and delicious. My husband made 3 meals out of it!

Came here on a weeknight recently expecting a great experience after the glowing reviews and was a bit disappointed. While it was busy, there were several open tables throughout our visit. It took an hour to seat us. By this time there were many folks behind us, some of whom left, harrumphing (good word, huh?). The hostess was young and seemed confused; rarely at her post. Perhaps she was new? Regardless, she needed help. Also, an apology or explanation would have been nice. We even asked about the empty tables which only seemed to fluster her more. We were finally seated and our waitress was efficient and attentive. I ordered "the Clancy," a burger loaded with short ribs, cheese, and cold slaw. My cousin ordered "the Betty," a turkey BLT served on ciabatta. Both arrived with homemade chips. Now I have explained my addiction and expertise with these magnificent morsels in past reviews so these were very good. Not great, but good. A bit too greasy and a few just too dark but not too bad. The sandwiches were very, very good. Now for the bad news. We waited close to another hour after ordering for our food to arrive. Maybe there was a problem in the kitchen that night? Again, an explanation or a free dessert, Some gesture would have gone a long way. 2 and 1/2 hours for a burger in a bar is just too long when there are free tables. The bar was lively and looked fun but we were there to eat. I'm not sure if I would go back. The food was fine but so are a lot of places in Buffalo with better service.

We decided to stopped for lunch on a Saturday for our first (and our last) dinning experience. No one was attending the hostess desk, but there was a sign that informed us to have a seat upstairs. Well, this is our first time, where are the upstairs??? We walked in wondering if "this was the upstairs" and walked into a restaurant that seemed total out of control between children running everywhere and not finding any servers. We did make our way to a table and were just about to get up and walk out when the bartender came over. The beer list is outstanding, but the service was okay, our table was dirty and the food was just okay. The entire time we were there, four different customers either never made it past the seating sign or sat down and left shortly. For a restaurant that brags about the beer, they might want to take a look at the services and cleanness.

I was just in town from Florida and was in the mood for some new and interesting beer choices. The EAH has a great selection of brews, many of them from local breweries. All of the food that our party had was great, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fun. It will absolutely be on my list of places to visit the next time I am in the area, and would definitely be a great place to watch a game!

This is a pub-sports bar-restaurant. Open area with plenty of seating and nicely decorated. They have a nice craft-microbrew beer selection. The food was good. Some unusual food offerings beyond the typical wings and burgers. Will go back again to try some other good sounding entrees.

This is one of the best in WNY. The food and service are great. Check it out during the week from 4-7pm and you will find a super happy hour....$2 bottles of beer and wells, along with 1/2 price appitizers. I ordered the chicken finger appitizers last night. The order came with about 5 fingers and fresh cut fries. It was a meal in itself. They also have huge selection of craft beers and a large outdoor patio. This is one popular place in West Seneca.

Yum! This pub is tucked off the main drag, but well worth the trip off the beaten path. They have an exceptional list of bottled and draft beers, including some local brews, but alas, I was there for food. The Mac & Cheese is hands down the best I've had. Smoked Gouda, cheddar, parmesan, cream and prosciutto make this dish exceptional! And they serve you enough for two people! Without a doubt, I'll be back!

Great service, great food - have been here multiple times for both drinks & appetizers and also for dinner and everything is always really, really good. Try the stuffed hot peppers or the baked brie for appetizers-The best! It is loud and awkwardly situated as far as dining goes but I dont mind - food is worth it and its just a great casual place to grab something to eat & have some drinks -large patio is a bonus in the summer- :)

So I decided to check out Ebenezer Ale .... GREAT choice...we went during the March Madness UB. Bulls game without knowing how perfect timing was gonna be ... Me and my trusted sidekick ..went in to try the fish fry and she ended up changing her mind after browsing the menu and settled for the Jamaican Pork Loin Sandwich...it came with chips...it was TO DIE FOR...the meat was tender and sliced thin enough to not be tough ...but layered on where you could get a great taste of the flavors...the chips were cool.. But a bit to hard and crunchy for my liking ...but I'm no fan of kettle chips ...and these were exactly like them .... The fish fry was massive ...my favorite part however was the cold penne salad that came with it. Sometimes you get a bit tired of the basic french fry..so that salad was a welcomed addition ...it was seasoned nice with a mixture of cucumbers, peppers and carrot slices....the fish fry was good ...a large piece ...my only issue was it was bland ...I definitely needed some Tabasco sauce to spruce it up a bit ...but the penne salad made up for it ... The atmosphere was SUPERB...I enjoyed everything from the people, ambiance and the action.. This is a cool place for a guys/gals evening out...a few games, dart boards a nice outdoor patio ...a great summer lunch spot !

Absolutely delicious! We had wings, blackened tilapia po boy, and ale house angels (bacon wrapped shrimp). Chips weren't fantastic but I was so full on everything I really didn't mind. Everything was great including the service.

Stopped in here after visiting Rusty Nickel on Friday, to see what was on tap. My first time here and have to say the atmosphere is pretty nice. Kind of a rustic pub feel, with a decent patio. A nice draft and bottle beer selection, although they were out of like 3 beers that were on their list. Also tried the Fried Calamari, which I thought was good. Not rubbery at all, with a nice marinara dipping sauce. I'd come back to hang out for a few beers again for sure.

Great atmosphere. Very large beer selection, especially on draft. Very large parking lot, so no worries with parking. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese with Cajun chicken.

I had to settle coming here for lunch since it's insanely busy for dinner, good sign right?! I got the Betty with side of green beans and it was simple yet delicious!!!! I can't wait to go back.

Stopped in for happy hour. Half price on some appetizers and a deal on drinks and craft beer. We had the Alehouse Angels - shrimp wrapped in bacon and grilled and served with a spicy dipping sauce. Wonderful! Then we tried the stuffed hot peppers. Wonderful. Loud. Crowded and fun!

Decided to check this place out today. It was quite crowded for a Monday, but we were seated right away. Before I say anything else, I must say that the service was outstanding, especially considering how busy it was. Kudos to the wait staff. After we were seated in the corner of a glass enclosed room, I noticed that the window next to us was slightly cracked open, which revealed a window crevice that looked like it has never been cleaned. It was caked with dirt and we were sitting inches from it. But there was no chance of getting moved so I didn't even bother to ask. Additionally, several times we could smell the distinct scent of gasoline wafting in though the open window. Not pleasant. The waitress came quickly and took our drink orders. I ordered bottle of Anchor Steam, and I could tell that it had been sitting around for several months. It was stale. For a beer-oriented restaurant, this was a huge disappointment. Then my wife noticed all kinds of black specks in the glass salt shaker. Perhaps they just poured salt into an UNWASHED pepper shaker, perhaps it was bugs or dirt from the filthy window sill. We just did not know. We noted the table next to us had even more black specks in the salt shaker. So I decided I would not use salt. My wife ordered Prime Rib on Weck. She thought it was OK, but not like a really good Beef on Weck from Bar Bill or even Andersons. But good enough. I ordered the Reuben and the corned beef was very good, but I could detect very little Swiss cheese. I wasn't even sure if there was any Swiss cheese. I upgraded to fries, and they looked like nice hand-cut fries but they were undercooked. Then when we left, we walked down the entry ramp and two people were smoking on each side of the ramp, so we had to walk right between 2 people blowing smoke. Now, I am not an anti-smoking zealot but they have a large outside deck which would have been a more ideal spot for people to smoke. I would think they could post a no-smoking sign near the entrance ramp, so people don't need to enter and exit the restaurant area through a cloud of cigarette smoke. I might expect this in your typical neighborhood dive bar, but not someplace that is attempting to do something slightly more upscale. This spot seems quite popular, but unfortunately we won't be returning.

My friend and I met up for lunch at the Ebenezer Ale House yesterday. We got there during the busy lunch hour and were greeted by no one at the front door. After twiddling our thumbs for a few minutes we went to the bar and asked if we could be seated. The bartender was polite and said we could seat ourselves wherever and that she would let a waiter know. Flash forward another few minutes of waiting outside at a table and I had to go in again to ask for a waiter. So we finally got a menu and there was a wide selection of choices. I went with "The Betty" a turkey bacon sandwich and my friend chose the Bruschetta burger. You know how when you're close to starving almost anything tastes good? This was an exception. My sandwich was meh, the bread was just thin sandwich slices that were all dry. The house made chips that came with it were really greasy too. The burger my friend got was huge and he said he's had better. Overall I don't think I would go back. I think I'll stick to Duffs next time I'm in Buff again.

We've been going here frequently and have put up with the sketchy service because the food and beer is good. The spicy Asian wings are the best. But we are done going here. Over. After the usual start with slow service the meal comes and the waitress hands me my plate across the middle of the table rather than stepping around. In the process she knocks over a full soda glass into my lap. During the attempted clean up she tries to blame me. What is inexcusable to me is that no one from management could be bothered to come by the table. I get that it was a mistake, even though the waitress tried to blame me, but for a manager not to stop by the table because I'm eating dinner in wet pants and our after dinner plans are ruined has no excuse. Clearly you don't care about your customers. For what it's worth you just lost four, and we were really good tippers. My advice, stay away too. The food is not worth the awful service you'll put up with.

Went here with a few friends. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is so good. They have unique takes on everyday foods that make it a little upper scale. There were so many options and you could pick your sides and customize it to your liking. They had many different beers that other places don't have like local brews. I had a hard time narrowing down my selection because everything sounded so good. We got the nachos to start and there was so much cheese they were ooey gooey and so tasty. The stuffed peppers were huge and not overly spicy which was good. The mac and cheese has different cheeses than just cheddar that made it very different. The portions are very big so I had to take half of mine home. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I would come back to try other things off the menu.

Ebenezer ale house is a great little place! There's the feeling you get here of things being wide open! Plenty of windows! Also the bar area has some high top tables to sit at and grab an adult beverage or even eat dinner at. The ale house also offers a nice bar and has a nice selection of craft beers. They also normally have a beer of the month special as well. As for the food, great! Anything between the po-boys, pizza, burgers, meatloaf and their daily specials are all very good! You really can't go wrong with whatever one you decide on! I been to the Ebenezer ale house ocassionally over the years and will continue to do so! I love the fact that no matter when I do come here, the food has always remained consistent! Stop on in for a drink or dinner when your out in the area!

Went with a group of friends. Sat outside which was nice. There is for sure a great beer selection. The menu is loaded with so many things it's hard to choose. I ended up getting a salad. I know so lame - I should have gotten a greasy burger or something not so good for you but I was trying to go the"healthier" route. I should know by now that this is not the place to go the "healthier" route. (Not that a salad with bacon in it is really a healthier option anyway I digress....") The waitress was very friendly so service was not an issue. My one friend got the mac and cheese which I tried but just too creamy. My two other friends got salads as well. Maybe it was just me and my lame salad but I just didn't really like this place.

Sat on the patio at this place for a couple hours earlier this week and had a very nice evening. A smallish but very interesting beer list, including a nice mix of local, regional, and national selections. We had a couple appetizers, the Bavarian pretzels were really, really great. Bacon wrapped shrimp were good as well, if perhaps a little too salty for my taste. I had their steakhouse pizza for a main course, which was covered in arugula, blue cheese, and balsamic vinegar. Very nice crust and all the flavors held together really well. Only complaint I might make is that it was pretty skimpy on actual steak. I also had a cup of french onion soup, which was a nice rendition of the traditional cheese covered style, but nothing exceptional. Service was extremely slow but friendly and we were looking for a leisurely evening so we made no attempt to rush them along. Good experience overall. I'd definitely go back for good drinks and somewhat above average pub fare.

We arrived around 6pm on a Friday. I was told it would be a 1hr. wait.We went to the bar (3 barmaids on staff) They asked me even though it was crowded what we wanted to drink & also showed us the menu of beers. We met very friendly patrons & exchanged stories. That hour went by fast. Yes,it is noisy. This tells me this place must have good food & drink. I was not disappointed. We had Broiled Lemon Pepper & deep fried Aviator Red beer batter fish. The fries are hand cut. The manager stopped & greeted us while also helping tend tables. We will be back.

We visited with a large group of people for a casual meal after a wedding rehearsal--so we were definitely a mixed group of ages (from kids to seniors) and diets (from carnivores to vegans). Happily, everyone was able to find something they greatly enjoyed. On the vegetarian end of the spectrum, all of the restaurant's signature burgers can be made with a veggie patty instead of beef--a nice option. I decided to go for the roasted vegetable sandwich with marinated fresh mozzarella on ciabatta. It was a bit drippy but totally delicious! I upgraded to fries on the side; these were actually not as tasty as the home-made chips that come "standard." I'd go with those next time. My husband ordered a burger--and he was very happy with how it was prepared. He's a pretty picky burger-eater and said he'd definitely go back there for another. Other folks at the table tried the fish fry, a deli turkey sandwich, pasta dishes--everyone liked their meal. Even the kids were happy with the selections on the kids menu. If I have anything to criticize it would be the noise level. The main dining room was LOUD for most of our meal--it made it hard to talk even to the person across the table. If I were to go back on a warm night, I'd opt to sit on the spacious patio, which seemed a lot quieter. Overall, a really good experience. Ebenezer will be one of our go-to places in the southtowns!

First time here on Saturday 7/25 and loved the food! We ordered nachos w/chicken and bavarian pretzels for apps and both were delicious (we liked the Corona Lime queso on the nachos so much that we asked for a side of it to go with our pretzels, $.99). I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza personal size and thought that it had a little too much BBQ sauce and the crust was really hard. My other guests ordered the Royal Deli sandwich and a BBQ burger and loved their choices! Definitely can't wait to come back!! Overall the prices were reasonable and our bill was just less than $60.00 for 3 people including drinks. Have to say also, the service was great..greeted as soon as I walked in and seated right away even though I mentioned I was waiting for 2 others and a waitress offered me the drink menu immediately even though I opted to wait for my guests.

Fantastic happy hour specials including half price apps - despite the reduced price, they are normal size and incredibly delicious. I ate my entire chicken quesadilla because it was just too good to stop. Great beer selection with a lot of craft beers on tap that you don't see in other places. Reduced prices for happy hour on even the best beers. If you're looking for a nice outdoor patio, this is a great choice. Although the view is lacking (nice blacktop parking lot ....), on a nice summer day you don't really mind. The inside of the restaurant is just as inviting. Table service was excellent. Very prompt and attentive. Our waitress was more than happy to split our bill however we wanted. Bartenders were not quite as friendly but they were quick and efficient.

They really only get 3 stars for the beer and the hot pretzel sticks. Decided to have dinner here on a Tuesday night. The place was pretty busy, there was 6 of us dining. They sat us down in the bottom area of the restaurant which was freezing cold. Our server was not so good. I hate to say it, but she was kind of dumb. I ordered the pork chop dinner, the pork was cooked great, and the spicy mashed sweet potatoes were pretty good, but everything else on the plate including the pork chops, just lacked flavor. My husband had the Betty with coleslaw. The coleslaw was very bland, could not even eat it. My brother ordered a burger cooked medium, I came to the table well done. His fiancée ordered the pesto chicken sandwich, which had no pesto on it. Amd the other two got the Reuben's made with turkey. Their bread looked burnt. We did start out the meal with the pretzel sticks and the hot stuffed peppers which were good. If I'm in the area I will return but just stick to eating some appetizers at the bar.

Excellent food and have always had great service. The seating is not desirable since the loud bar crowd is practically on top of you, but there are other tables in a different section that we normally request to be seated at.

We took my Mother in law here for her Birthday. What a fantastic restaurant! 2 orders of the "Ebenezer Ale"Steak were cooked just the way they liked, Meatloaf was very tasty and a Chicken salad was also very good. An order of Hot Pretzels were nice and warm and tasted perfect. I ordered a glass of Moscato and from the time we all arrived till the moment we all left it was nothing but a Wonderful dining experience. Very friendly customer service and a very pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be returning to the Ebenezer Ale House for dinner and drinks. I would recommend this establishment for a great get together with friends and family or a nice evening with your hunny.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is just a beer house. Nothing lacking on the beer menu, with regularly rotated taps (22 at my last count), and many more bottled delicacies. Ebenezer has a well crafted menu sure to please everyone in your party. A few suggestions- BBQ Meatloaf sandwich Spicy Asian Chili wings French Onion soup And the hot pretzels.... Pretzels are very good, but the homemade doing sauce sets them apart! Some combo of honey mustard and mayo (that's all they'll tell me). My daughter (8) was impressed they let her sub out Alfredo sauce on the kids pasta. Happy kids = Happy parents.

I had dinner here last night. We ordered the Bavarian pretzels and the BBQ fries for appetizers. The portions were incredible, there were so many fries we had left overs and barely any room for our entrees. I ordered the Black and Blue burger and it is honestly the best burger i have had in a long time. I couldn't eat the whole thing because i was kind of full from the apps. But the burger had the perfect balance of melted blue cheese crumbles and meat. There was a nice helping of the typical veggies that come on burgers and the bun was toasted perfectly. I was not very impressed with the chips that were served with the burger and would suggest upgrading the side. I think it was an up-charge of $2 to do so. My boyfriend ordered one of the craft beers and couldn't stop raving about how good it was. Our server was really friendly and was around just enough. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again! They seem to have a nice large patio in the back that will be great in the summer. Unfortunately it was about -10 out when we visited, Ha.

Just had lunch here today. From the food to the service I will definitely return. I had the French onion soup which is absolutely delish! And the beef on weck... One of the best around. Our server Jacqulin was friendly, attentive and super personable. My only complaint would be the Bloody Mary I ordered. It was over loaded with celery salt and too much citrus.

I have to be fair that the food there is pretty good. I will give 4 stars for that but the service was awful last time I visited there. My husband and I were so hungry and thought its a good idea to grab some burgers there but about 15mins no one took our order. I understand it's around 4 o'clock not many customers but the waitress walked pass our table several times without even asking if we would like to have a drink. This somehow pissed me off so we left. I would suggest don't go there when you are very hungry from my own experience.

Considering West Seneca has very limited dining options, this is a good eatery. We ordered pick up for new years eve. I went with pork tenderloin with mashed sweet potatoes and spicy sauerkraut. Pork was tender. My mom's Cobb salad was awesome (came with fresh chips which is unique). My husband and sister ordered the mac and cheese and were underwhelmed. ...If they were writing this review they probably would have given 2 or 3.

After plans for a birthday dinner went awry hubby and I decided to do take out from the Ebenezer Ale House. Very glad that we did. The menu as well as the drink menu is extensive. Normally I don't like places that offer up all types of dishes. To me that means the food is either pre fab or mediocrely prepared. Not the case here. Hubby started out with an app of calamari which, he claims, was just so-so. He ordered a full rack of bbq ribs and the dinner that he received was MASSIVE! Enough for dinner last evening and lunch today. It came with a generous portion of cole slaw and what appeared to be home cut fries. The ribs were perfectly done, falling off the bone. I opted for the pasta primavera. Different that other primavera's that I've had in that it was heavy with olives, both black and green. There were chopped tomatoes, green peppers, artichoke hearts and onions. Covered with mozzarella cheese and baked. VERY GOOD! I don't understand what took us so long to give this place a try. It's close to home, the prices are right and the food is down home good!

The Ebenezer Ale House is only a few years old now but is a nice stop to make when I am home visiting. They have a great food menu and even better selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Their beer prices are pretty decent for an Ale House, which makes trying tons of different beers fairly inexpensive.

Excellent food and have always had great service. The seating is not desirable since the loud bar crowd is practically on top of you, but there are other tables in a different section that we normally request to be seated at.

Not sure why the Ebenezer Ale House was not listed in "Don't be late for the Game." Terrific food, great selection of beers and VERY close to the stadium. One of the best sports bars around!

Food is excellent! Great fish fry! Definitely a hot spot in the area, but it is worth the wait. Only downside is that it is always very loud....looking forward to warmer weather and enjoying their patio again

SOON!

One of the better choices in the Southtowns is you're looking for craft beers and good bar food. Every time I stop on it gets better and better. Wide selection of beers with a good range of styles.

Nice atmosphere, friendly bartender. Great wings-- nice and plump. Shrimp Po Boy left a lot to be desired, namely the doughy roll. Nice cold tap beer. Place had a pretty bad odor of stale beer when we visited. Nice decor.

The Ebenezer Ale House is only a few years old now but is a nice stop to make when I am home visiting. They have a great food menu and even better selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Their beer prices are pretty decent for an Ale House, which makes trying tons of different beers fairly inexpensive.
