I celebrated my graduation dinner here. I was able to get a private room which was great. The room has a TV and also adjustable air conditioner and music. Our waiter was super friendly and vey catering to my small daughter 6 and 8. I asked for more water bread everything and with no hesitations she brought it to us. The only thing I disliked was the food was not served at the same time and I really dislike that. The food was great and big portions. We order pitcher of white and red sangria the were good but not perfect need more alcohol.

I love this place! The drinks are great, the happy hour is a plus...The restaurant is clean, sexy and modern. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is awesome. I tried the lobster with crab meat, empanadas, calamari & yuca. This is a GREAT place to reserve for a large birthday party. Will always be back

The Service was very good, though the service was some of the best seen in a while, the restaurant is definitely very nice and the ambiance of the restaurant is good. But I am only giving 2 stars to this place because the food. I went to a brunch with one of my uncle and his friends; we came here because one of his friends, make a suggestion to come here. First thing I ask was with beers they have in drafts, the server told me that they didn't have beer on drafts, I was really surprised so a order a bottle of presidente the beers was pretty cold. Then I ask for the brunch menu, and he told me we didn't do brunch here. We decided to share some appetizers. Empanadas mix: like 5 type of empanadas, (shrimp, chicken, cheese, beef) and fry calamari. I have eaten empanadas and fry calamari before, they didn't have nothing special on their taste. For my main course I had the skirt steak and shrimp with tostones on the side, the portion was very big cannot complaint about that, but the taste was not that great like I as expected, I eaten better on the past.

The food here is not consistent enough for me to return. My first time I had the churasco, and it was great with tostones. A friend had the lobster salad. Amazing! Last night I did the garlic shrimp, with tostones. The shrimp was good, the garlic sauce was horrendous. It tasted like it had been burnt, and other things had been added to it to mask the burning! Friends had the wings. One set of wings tasted like cinnamon. Another tasted like tabasco. Neither were edible. The waitresses are usually really nice, and ours was very attentive BUT the food just isn't doing it for me and since I don't smoke hookah I see no reason to return.

I have to say that I had a pretty decent experience at South Beach Restaurant. My brothers and sisters wanted to have a get together dinner outing and this was the chosen central location to minimize traveling for all of us. As my sister lives in the area, we trusted her choice, though I was a bit skeptical due the the horrendous reviews on service. Street parking of course was a P.I.T.A. They do have valet parking for $10. As I walked in I noticed the beautiful decor, beautiful lighting and open layout concept. We were sat right away at the upstairs atrium area. For it being 9PM on a Saturday this place was really dead. But then again this place is huge. There were probably 10 tables seated and like 15-20 empty. They have many specialty cocktails and Mojitos seem to be the drink of choice recommended by the wait staff. The ladies went with different flavored Mojitos, which they found really tasty. I asked for their Bourbon options, which were only Maker's Mark and JD Honey. Initially, our waiter Joel did not know what options were on hand when asked but quickly excused himself to bring the bartender to our table to answer my question and offer suggestions. We started with a Picadera Mixta of seafood and meats for two. (Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops, Octopus, Clams Casino, Skirt Steak, Chicken, Pork Loin, Fried Plantain and Fried Yuca. It was plentiful for 4. Very tasty and well seasoned. I chose the Grouper Fillet Stuffed with Crab Meat, a side of a Yuca Purée and some steamed vegetables. The portion of crab meat was generous. Nicely seasoned. Very juicy. The purée was creamy and fluffy. Overall, the service was great. Our waiter Joel took care of us. Checked on us often but not overbearing. The bachata music throughout the night was nice to listen to while drinking and laughing with family.

Let's begin with the positive, their decor is rather nice, made me feel like I was back in the motherland since I'm originally from the Dominican Republic, very quaint meets modern. The servers are friendly and helpful. I ordered a Shrimp Mofongo which left much to be desired, the plantains were hard but the shrimp and sauce were ok. That's was the positive. Onto the negative for a lack of a better word. We were a party of 8 the restaurant was not busy, we waited for our food 1hr and 1/2. When the food arrived my niece was served RAW CHICKEN! Not a little pink. RAW. Like taken from the supermarket fridge RAW. When we asked for the manager that was another 15 minute wait. The most he was able to do was knock off $40 bucks from the bill leave it at an even $100. He claims that the cook felt rushed and really wasn't apologetic at all. I'm sorry the restaurant wasn't busy at the time we were there and chicken doesn't take over an hour to cook. I'm not one for scenes of conflict so I took the $100 hit paid and left. However eaters beware, I for one won't ever eat here again. THE CHICKEN WAS RAW!!! I hope my picture isn't removed. I'm really surprised that they have an "A" rating. Perhaps they're due for another health inspection, before someone is severely poisoned or worse dies.

Came here to celebrate my cousins birthday with a large group of family and friends, in my opinion the restaurant is nice the only problem for me was the location, South Beach is located nowhere near "South Beach", nor is there a beach or anything tropical about the areas, this restaurant is located uptown in the middle of the hood, parking is very difficult to find, but they do offer Valet parking for $10, if your from around the area or familiar with area then I guess it's ok and your probably used to the neighborhood, but for a brooklyn Boy like me, I felt totally out of place, a part of town I wouldn't normally travel to. The restaurant is beautiful with 2 floors, they have an extensive drink and food menu, the staff is cool, they tried their very best to attend to our needs which was good. The food is basically Spanish food but with a little touch of class. I recommend the Salmon soup, it's was the bomb. There's nothing really unique about the drink or food menu, everything on the menu was ok but you can find eveything they offer as good or even better.... elsewhere. I will most likely not return simply because this restaurant is out of my way and I didn't find anything that made my experience memorable (besides my cousins birthday).

Came here this past Sunday for a birthday dinner. First things first. The restaurant is located in a weird out of place area. It doesn't fit it's surroundings. The street is filled with bodegas and bakeries and little 99 cent stores. There it stands out with its lights shining bright, looking like it definitely belongs in miami. South beach is a beautiful restaurant though. Upon entering, I definitely felt the miami-ness of it. It reminded a lot of the restaurants I've been to out there. We were seated in a back room upstairs for our party. It was a private room that had soft pink walls, striped navy couches and long wooden tables, awesome decor. Most of our party wasn't there yet, so I had to say the staff was very unorganized. It took them forever to bring us water and maybe about after an hour they decided to bring us bread to hold us over I guess. The main waiter kept asking, well you can say nagging us, to call the person in charge of the dinner. Entire party is now here. We ordered our food, which was also unorganized and it took foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to come!. The waiter who comes around to fill up our glasses with water was never around either. The food was pretty good however. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce with yucca fries. Not to bad. Everyone else was pleased with their food as well, although they're not elite, so they don't really know ;-). I just have to say the service was bad, they need to be more organized or the kitchen staff needs to be, either way, it's annoying. And the location is crazy. I most definitely wouldn't travel up their just for this restaurant and the food. 3 stars for the decor and food.

NOT IMPRESSED. Like at all! It is definitely very nice. The ambiance of the restaurant is great, the restaurant is beautiful. There was no wait time, which on a saturday night should have been a red flag. However we were seated immediately and I was starving so it seemed great. THIS PLACE IS SUPER EXPENSIVE FOR NO REASON. The food is not even good honestly. I ordered chicken with mozzarella and spinach and it was so damn hard. The empanadas I had for appetizers were okay but nothing to brag about, or mention really. There menu is not too bad, the drink menu definitely is. Additionally, some of the workers do not understand any english which can be inconvenient for those who are not Hispanic or do not speak Spanish. I asked for the drink menu and the waiter was LOST...thankfully I told him in Spanish and then we got the night started. The drinks are nice and strong. I had a chinola mojito which was different but it was good. This is what gave it the one star along with the pretty lights inside. The service kind of sucked as well. I don't know, there was nothing positive. I will not be returning here to eat.

Came here about 2 years ago, so I'm not sure if they continue to have the same chef. The place is pretty, we went with our kids and the music was very nice, and romantic. Our waiter was great and the food was good. Just good, not great. However, we had such a nice time, the drinks were strong which is a BIG PLUS and the overall experience and environment was great so I gave it 4 stars. I'd like to go again and try it out.

Ok there are two sections to this restaurant take out which they still have a section were u can sit and eat and there is the other side which suppose to be for a "fine" dinning experience. I eaten on both sides and i perfer the take out side. if you get specials and the food is great and you save money. The other side valet was $20 food was a bit pricy and so were the drinks. when i eat here at the take out i spend 20 between my bf and me and we order the large soup and chicken special comes a whole chicken with rice and beans. chicken is seasoned very good and the sopa de mondgo and sancocho sooooooooooo good best soups.

They messed up an order for my birthday once, they charged me a price when I arrived to pick it up they told me they hadn't done it because they charged me the wrong the price. The food is ok. The chicken is cheap and good. Always some gossip happening. It's just a weird set up.

The food was good . The service is TERRIBLE !!!!!!! The waiter barely speaks English . My food was great but my friend rice was hard as rock ! Chicken was cold ! Salad was brown ! Shrimp was Alfredo was great ! Fish bowl is a lie !! It's small glass for $22 ! It's a waste of your money !!! They told us they would give us a fish bowl on the house & end up charging us. After we paid for our food they chased us because we didn't want to pay the tip for their terrible service !!!!

Ill start with the positive. The decor is very beautiful. Done! Now the negative- it took me over 45 min just to valet park my car cause they don't let you out of your car unless they find a parking spot for the car in front of you. What is the point of valet parking then. Ill go look for my own spot then. It also cost me 20 bucks. The most i have ever paid for valet. Not to mention a couple of weeks later i received a 130 ticket plus a 30 late charge because they parked at a bus stop and instead of giving me the ticket when they returned my car after waiting another 45 min to find my car, they threw it out. I was livid. Now let me tell you the gentleman that i was in contact with in regards to the ticket was a huge professional. In fact he is the only reason i gave it 1 star. His name was Richard. This man drove to my house in Queens and hand delivered a check to pay for the ticket. Very apologetic for my bad experience. This guy should be in charge of more than just valet. Cause the food is well below average, staff is HORRIBLE! I made a reservation for 15 3 weeks in advance for a surprise birthday. When my party gets there before us , they were told that we had no reservation. Then when they finally get everyone a table and i arrive i had to wait the 45 min for them to park my car at valet. I walk in and the host says yeah your party is upstairs. Im like wtf its a surprise. So instead of trying to cover up that he blew up the surprise he repeats your party is upstairs and tella us to go find them. We literally had to walk ourselves upstairs and aimlessly try and find our party. INSANE! I will never come here or recommend this place.

Great place. Great food. Friendly staff. Perfect Sangria! Give it a go! Definitely worth the trip and money spent. Ended up trying the Skirt Steak, really well cooked and served!

Worst service ever had a BIRTHDAY dinner And 6 of the 10 plates were horrible we went from raw chicken to a over cooked steak that was asked to be prepared medium I asked for a skirt steak with rice and black beans all I got was a skirt steak that was cold I swear it was cold with no rice and beans had to wait for the rice and beans went the whole dinner with one beer not asked even once if I wanted another. Turn that shit into a lounge it will probably work better maybe hopefully.

Would never come here again. After a full day of brunch and drinking, we stopped here before the bus ride home. We order apps and 3 drinks for 4 ppl. Our waiter was EXTREMELY rude He said "that's all?" and was visibly upset about us inly ordering apps. He didnt check on us, didnt refill our water, and took too long to give us our bill. Horrible service. Food was bleh.

I hate giving bad reviews but here we go. Service at this place is awful. A group of friends and I stopped here on our way back to NJ for a bite to eat. They have a take out section and a sit down restaurant. We opted for the sit down restaurant. It seems that unless you are willing to spend an obscene amount of money, the waiter will ignore your table and question your food and drink choices. Not cool.

The decor of South Beach Restaurant & Lounge is what I would consider lavish and beautiful. However, I think that's the only reason I gave it two stars. I recently went here for lunch with my mother and the place was a bit empty inside when I arrived. We were immediately seated upstairs and handed menus. We had glasses of water and I asked for some lemon for our water, which our waiter brought right away. Strike one: why was there a piece of hair on one of the lemon wedges? I noticed this after the fact. If not, I would've just walked out right then and there. After looking through our menus, we ordered an avocado salad, mofongo de cangrejo (crab & plantain dish), along with grilled chicken and rice and beans. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out despite the fact that there was only one other table besides ours. It looked like they had been there a while, as well. That was the second strike. Once our food finally arrived the waiter spilled some of the cheese crumbles that were part of the salad on my mother's lap. We end up eating our food, but I have definitely have had better. I wasn't impressed. Can you say strike three and four? I'll go back to the lounge or to have drinks, which I have in the past. However, I won't be going back to have a dining experience at South Beach.

the food here is delicious! honestly I fell inlove. I came to eat her with my family (5 of us) and the bill nearly came out to be 330 dollars. don't get me wrong we had drinks to but it was happy hour.. just hope you have cash in your pockets

From the moment I walked into the restaurant I felt overwhelmed! The furniture was superfluously oversized and the menu prices were not attractive at all (considering the location and quality of the food). The service was horrible and, I really do not see myself going out of my way to step foot into this establishment again. There was nothing that stood out to me except the over the top decor and nasty attitude I got from my server. Do not even waste your time going here... for the prices in this restaurant you might as well buy a flight to Miami. You're not missing much, I have had better and seen better!

I been to South Beach several times and every time I go it's a pleasant experience. The staff is very welcoming, and pleasant. There is an downstairs and upstairs. The bar is very nice. They have top shelf alcohol and a good selection of beer. I usually sit upstairs. The waiters are very attentive. We always get the same - I think he knows us by now and requests to attend us lol. The prices are very reasonable and it's a good selection of food. You get a lot of food for the price and the food is very good The drinks are typical NYC prices - no surprise to me. At night the downstairs turns into a chill lounge - drinks, hookah, dinner and good music. I enjoy dinning at South Beach.

  • V C.

The atmosphere is cool, it does give you a South Beach feel. The hookah is at a good price and strong. The drinks are ok, the food is good. The service is good. I would come back. The only thing is there's nothing wow about this. I'm not sure what it's lacking but I feel like something is missing.

I tried to attend another party last Saturday night, but I just drove around trying to find parking and decided to go back home. Parking in this area shouldn't be a thought because it ain't happening! LOL My bff got mad at me because I left. She's telling me to come back (mind you, I was already on the highway) and when I got home, she was still blowing up my phone telling me to take a cab back. I ignored her texts after that. The place is really nice, but they tried to cheat my friends on the bottle service by charging more than one person in the party for the same bottles. All in all, if you're cabbing it, walking or being dropped off, it's worth the trip.

This is for their TAKE-OUT ONLY: Pros: -$4.95 for an entire Chicken is a great deal -Surprisingly, the Chicken was pretty flavorful and moist Cons: -Staff are not very friendly nor do they speak any English -No customer acknowledgement, just order and go pay at the "cashier" booth -Bring Cash as you never know with these places -Menu "looks" extensive but it's a bunch of repetitive dishes with different sides Unfortunately, there's no "SOUTH BEACH" atmosphere in their Take-out Area Not sure if I'll be back, the place looks like it has potential but still instead of feeling HOT, WARM, or even SEXY like "South Beach" weather, it was rather "COLD" slightly ghetto, and "DULL" in there

This place is too big for its own good. Its so big it always appears empty. This place has really cool decors with the south beach theme, but it lacks in the most important categories. Most importantly, they're not cooking anything special. Whatever Dominican dishes they cook up.. are at best average!!..Nothing special in the kitchen. I randomly visited this place with about 5 friends after a work event, we ate and had drinks: Nothing special about the food or drinks. After getting sauced we wanted to check out the lounge downstairs, they did not let us go in because 2 of us had sneakers...Not Jordans, designer sneakers..and we were dressed decent, and clean... Fine, I'll keep my money!!!

The food was great!! The drinks on the other hand seemed like they were watered down. I ordered a piña colada which seemed like it was made with milk. I then had to order a mudslide which was no better. The service really sucks here. I now remember why I was so skeptical in coming to this restaurant after reading all the reviews about the service! When we paid our $200 bill, don't u know our waiter just grabbed his money, didn't offer us any dessert and didn't even say thank you, or have a good night. I don't think I'll return to this restaurant! Too many stuck u people! I rather spend my money were I know I would enjoy my night fully. *The music was great! I'll give them that! Ha! Ha!

Beautiful ambience, great drinks & music but exorbitant prices. I came here with my husband and we spent $96 on two entrées one appetizer and two drinks. It's not worth the money!!! The food mediocre and I've had much better for a lot less. 3 stars because of the ambience.

To our waiter : It's not our fault you dont like your job. The guy was with a 'tude all night and gets upset because one that isnt hungry orders only an app. He seemed really miserable . Very rude The ambience : Clubby.Tries to mimic a South Beach club w lights and music even with "not so SoBe crowd" ( see beer bellies) The food: Huge menu. Stick to the latin stuff. Can be a hit it or miss. Food is forgetable. Service: Our waiter was not only never there but had the balls to catch a attitude. You could tell he hates his job. Its ok for a drink and hookah , but there alot of better places nearby.

If you want overpriced regular Spanish food then you can come here -_-. I could have gone to a regular Spanish restaurant that charges $8 a plate and received better food . The place is beautiful ,the decor is really nice and the waiters are great but that's where it ends. The mofongo was gooey and tasted like old mangu .The calamari was average . Chain restaurants make better calamari than they do. For the price I paid last night I could have gone to better restaurants and actually had a feast....oh and my boyfriend woke up vomiting at 3 in the morning because of the clams. Smh Never Again!

I went to South Beach restaurant New years day 2015 around 11pm, I was seated right away for a party of five. Server didn't really speak English but was very helpful with our assistance. That's not really a big deal being that the restaurant is located in Washington Heights. My friend ordered a Miami Vice drink and she says it was so good she had to have another. For an appetizer I ordered chicken empanadas which were really good so we ordered another. For my entree I had the fried whole red snapper with asparagus and rice and beans also very well seasoned and tasty. My friends did complain about their food coming out cold but I think I was to blame for that, because my whole red snapper was extra hot as if their food couldn't come out until mine was done. lol The place is a tad bit pricey but overall service and food were good. The music is pumping like you are at a club and the decor gives you a Miami feel.

If the food tasted half as good as the ambience is; this restaurant would get 5 stars. I ordered the pechuga de pollo rellena de camarones. The pechuga was dry and even some of the camarones were charred to the point of being black. Now the biggest sin of all was not getting the white rice right. Come on! This is a Spanish food restaurant, there is no excuse for that! We came early on a Saturday (6pm) and the place was empty. The service was great. Very polite staff.

Horrible service! We were just standing there waiting to be seating, it took over five minutes for someone to tell us we have to go straight upstairs. Once upstairs we stood there confused because yet again there was no host to sit us, finally a man came to sit us, after menu was on the table for about 10 minutes the waiter finally came over to take drink order, yet we haven't got a drink menu yet...no problem I already knew I wanted sangria. Took about another ten minutes for the drink to come & for us to order. The guy came out with bread but completely skipped our table, there was also no water refill. When the appetizers finally came they were good, shrimp empanadas & calamari. Nothing special about them, but edible....mayo/ketchup makes everything taste better. For the entree we both had the churassco with rice & beans, steak could have been a lot better, it needed salt or maybe adobo, pretty much flavorless. The beans also could have had more flavor, pretty disappointing for a Latin restaurant considering we use a lot of flavor in our food. Finally I was over it, finished my good but strong sangria, and asked for the check. Which took 20 minutes! Mind you the place isn't packed! I would say a total of 7 tables, the waiter said the machine to print it out wasn't working. While waiting we noticed the people sitting next to us becoming more & more aggravated, so nosy me asked if they were still waiting for food, she told me they have been there a hour & a half and no good yet, meanwhile we got there before them! I felt bad even eating after it heard that. It was a couple with their three children, the daughter at one point just wanted to go to McDonald's. Finally as we got out check their food came. To my surprise their food was very simple! The mother ordered a chicken salad, husband monfongo, and the kids had pizza, and chicken fingers with French fries. There was absolutely no apologizes for the family, which made me sick! I am all about CUSTOMER SERVICE! Most likely if I receive great service & the food sucks I would feel bad writing a bad review. But this place has horrendous service & the food isn't anything to rave about, I've had better. Word of advise to people who are thinking about going there, go a couple of blocks down to casa monfongo and eat there instead!

I love this place and have been here several times for dinner, drinks and to visit the lounge. Prices are great, there are pretty good happy hour specials (especially on Tuesdays for ladies) and the space is enormous. They could step it up a notch with customer service but if you want some good food and a fun night out, this is the place for you.

It wasnt all That. ..Came for dinner to celebrate a friends birthday.. The place is super beautiful hands down..The Drinks were good..But the service sucked big time...the waiter kept coming over asking us if we were ready...after I told him to give us 30 mins..because we had appetizers. ..apparently he did not listened..The most annoying part was translating for all my friends because he acted like he didn't understand...Food took 45 mins to come...and after it came some of the orders were wrong.. and the food superrrrr dry.. and overly priced for no reason...I wont be visiting the place again...Thank Goodness for great company...!!!!!

South beach is a beautiful restaurant. The decor is amazing. I was there last night with my parents, my uncle and his family. We were a party of six. My mom and I had pina coladas. It was very good, loaded with the right amount of alcohol! The mini empanadas were good; the dipping sauce that came with it, was not my favorite. The service was great. Their bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated was well. The place is great for groups and for a night of drinking. We will definitely come back for dinner next time.

Let me start off by saying that before I write a review I usually read most of the previous reviews so I can touch base on all the aspects that other reviewers touched. So I went yesterday Wednesday night at around 8pm. The place was empty. Maybe 5 or 6 other tables had guests. The decor is beautiful. The hostess brought us to the upstairs dining room. After a minute or two of looking over the menu, our waiter came by and asked for our drinks. We all ordered a passion fruit mojito. WOW, it was amazing! It wasn't watered down, but wasn't too too strong, it was PERFECT! For dinner 2 of us ordered the churrasco and the third person order Camarones al ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce). I asked for the steak medium and it was actually medium! We all loved our food and the presentation was lovely. We ordered another round of mojitos & it was just as good as the first. To end our dinner, I ordered a birthday cake for my friend while he was in the bathroom and they brought it out when he returned with a nice sparkler candle, and sang happy birthday. Our total was $142, for 3 dinner entrees, 5 mojitos, and the cake, which I thought was pretty decent. We experienced great service and good tasting food. I would definitely go back!

This place is beautiful! You just feel like you are in Fl. The only thing missing is a beach view. Great great food and well decorated plates. They serve plenty of food on each order and everything taste absolutely good! My 3 stars is due to the bad service we'd experience with this nasty attitute "actress from Hollywood waitress". Very stupid personality, rude and slow. She didnt take care of our table and the busboys were doing her job, since she forgot about her tables. She was on a rush next to the bar counting her tips because like she told us "they were about to close "in 40mins" smh, and I guess she was just bothered doing what she was suppose to do, "her job!" Another thing was, a loooong hair I found in my drink. yuck! Probably from the waitress head or idk, since she thinks she is in a runway and full of makeup and acting all pretty instead of taking care of their customers. It was disgusting! The prices are moderate, and I'm definitely going back! But, if I see that waitress is going to take care of me, I'll politely tell her to get lost! This place has everything, except customer service or professionalism from their staff.

I went on New Year's night to South Beach with some friends and overall, I had a great experience. It definitely gives a Miami feel with its decor and ambience. I had 2 Miami vice drinks especially made for me by the bartender... but my food was lukewarm.

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! Mom and I went for lunch & had outstanding service; waitress was very pleasant. Not sure if all the waiters speak english though... I got a very Dominican vibe, which I'm totally okay with because im dominican. I actually felt like I was in DR lol... strange! Food was good and both red sangria and white sangria were awesome. The strawberry margarita was pretty good too. This place really impressed me but, oddly enough, I don't think I'll be back. I didnt give 5 stars because I didn't like their menu.... Wish it was smaller and had a theme, with more specialty entrees.... We had the salmon, and sad to say it was just that!... Grilled salmon... There is nothing special about it. I could've cooked it the same way at home... It had good flavor, but it was boring! Also, there is nothing trendy about this place... It's classy but very family friendly. I don't know, maybe I'll give it one more try....Maybe!

Nice looking place, and that's about it... its a Nice looking place. Cons: Very Poor. For every 10 employees ( I say employees because I couldn't tell the difference between our server or the busboy/girl ) only 1.5 spoke english. Server messed up our orders even though we were extremely specific on what was wanted. Orders came about 45 minutes later, and she had no idea who had what. No black beans, so she will voluntarily bring red, I know that's not a big deal, but its not what we asked for. NOT A DIET COKE in the ENTIRE PLACE... WTF? Staff Not very friendly Bartender in the waiting area had no idea what or where anything was. Not very "South Beachy", more like simple uptown dining. Pros: Kudos to whoever did the work in that place, looks very nice.

Place is beautiful, nice and relaxing. Food is delicious and the service was good. The music was cool but note that it is a Spanish place sooo the only kind of music played is Spanish. The place also has hookah but only downstairs. The drinks are strong and worth it. Also note that happy hour is only downstairs up until 8. Which is good considering other places don't run happy hour that late. Please try the desert I forgot the name but I posted the picture. They also have a large menu. So even if you don't eat red meat they have a ton of seafood and chicken. Def would come here again. One con is language barrier but they are helpful and try to understand you the best way possible

The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because the food was actually good. We went here for Mother's Day and was immediately seated which I thought was great being that it was Mother's Day. BUT, once we were seated the waitress let us know that our main courses wouldn't be out for another hour. We asked her if we ordered appetizers if the wait would be long and she said no...NOT! the appetizers didn't come out until 50 minutes into us sitting at the table. So, it was kinda like there was a wait, but you were seated while you waited which I won't complain too too much about. The menu was very limited as well because of Mother's day. they had a pre-fixed menu for the weekend but the choices were very limited. While seated, we weren't offered anything except water. We had to chase our waitress down to ask her to bring us some of their lackluster bread. Also, we were with my 9 year old nephew. As his mother doesn't like him to drink soda..we asked if there were any juices available..She says no..only soda, liquor and water. *thumbs down* When our food finally did arrive 1 hr and 25 minutes later..it was pretty good. Even though it seemed like it was sitting under a hot lamp for over a half hour, but we were so hungry we just didn't care. The alcoholic beverages were so-so..Beware of their "fish bowl" drink because it isn't really a fish bowl..it's just an overly rounded wine glass. "fish bowl" drinks are suppose to be served in "fish bowls"...right? Then the issue of the bill...ugghhhhhh...gratuity is already included which is fine..We wanted a set amount to go onto a CC and the rest in cash..seems like that couldn't be comprehended very well. If you want to split your bill..You have to pay half the gratuity on each payment method which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever..Especially if I want a SET amount charged to my card. All in all....FOOD was great. ATMOSPHERE was beautiful but SERVICE SUCKED!!!!!!!!! SIDENOTE: There's valet parking for $20, but the valet is just basically finding street parking for you...Save yourself $20 and do it yourself!

Now this review is based on my take out service. They have a separate entrance for take out with a smaller, more condensed menu of Spanish descriptions that I didn't fully understand. I did understand mofongo, as I am a lover and an avid eater of it. I ordered mofongo de pollo, thinking it would be yummy mushed plantains mixed with chicken and maybe some beans or rice, or both! on the side. Nope. I was correct about the mushed plantains, no chicken mixed in tho. Chicken was on the side. No rice, no beans....no sauce? Yep, no sauce. Almost choked as I tried to force dry mushed plantain down my tired, withering throat. Take out?? Can I take it back in? I don't want it, I threw it out.

And the waiters are so on point with everything!!!! Keep it up south beach you guys have a great team! Will be back soon

I've been to the restaurant section, the lounge area and the bar downstairs. Its such a beautiful HUGE venue. The service has always been super friendly (it helps if you're a native Spanish speaker ) English isn't the waitstaff strong suit. The bartender couldn't decipher what sour cream meant and I had to help translate. As far as the lounge/nightclub area, there is a 20 dollar charge after 1 am on Saturdays, any other nights are simply trash. It helps if you know a promoter, they'll waive the fee if you're an attractive female, but no such luck with men. The downstairs bar is my favorite part! It has a very intimate feel and the drinks are fairly priced.

Two stars one for the food which was good and the other for the decor that's was beautiful but the music was horrible the service was the worst ever It's took 20minutes to bring our first drink then when we ordered the food forever but the best part was when I ask for the check the girl taken care of our table you can see her wandering around as if she was lost even paying was a joke never again will I go there

The establishment itself is extravagantly gorgeous. Between the grand island-y style white building, palm trees, and colorful lights, this dazzling restaurant/lounge had SoBe written all over it. I never actually dined/ ate here, only came for the lounge to dance. My friend and I got here pretty late, and we're both surprised at how dead the crowd was. My reasoning for coming here was actually due to all the hype on Instagram. There were a few DJs promoting this place: "Ocean drive in the Heights". It looked like it was going to be a really great night on the particular Saturday that was being advertised. The music was Spanish, which I always enjoy of course, but the scene itself turned out to be totally wack. Everyone was just standing around at the tables, all dressed up, sipping on their drinks... as I said it was too late for people to not be already be movin and shakin. My friend and I left shortly after arriving. It's quite a steep ride from Penn Station (well at least it felt like that), and a bit of a walk from the 1 train. I would reccomend trying this place for dinner if anything, but hold off on the lounge/dancing part. P.S- when we got off the train, and walked outside, I kid you not we saw a skunk hanging out by a garbage pail. Not sure if this is common around that area, but it was pretty revolting!!

Restaurant was beautiful and the waitor was decent. The food was a little pricey for basic meals like Cheese Ravioli and the Alfredo. The fried calamari was the best! Over all the service was great.

I actually live in South Beach, Fl. But im Dominican from NY, and often travel up to Ny to visit. I went here in July 2013, so this is a late review. I thought this place was amazing. It is beautiful inside, love the ambiance and the service was great. It was a big group of us and everything was great! The appetizers, food, drinks, everything. My brother and cousin frequent there almost every week. I will keep coming back every time I go to Ny.

Very nice place in Washington heights. The food is good and the waiters are a little off sometimes, but good. The music is usually Latin, but not always. They do have a lounge downstairs as well as a big bar and a take out small restaurant next door, which is very continue by during lunch time I guess. They have a nice party room.

Pretty new place....some of the decor over- does it though and can be too much. I found it strange that they had mismatched chairs at the tables. It does not match the new decor of the place. I understand having different sets of chairs at the different tables but at one table they had four different style chairs. Strange! And not consistent with the decor. You can tell they spent lot of money renovating and decorating the place. And this is reflected in the prices on their menu! The menu is WAAAAY toooo large...a whole 7 pages of menu items, specializing in nothing in particular. This makes it very hard to decide what is good and what to order. We asked waitress what dishes were good and she did not help at all- "the meats and pastas are good" Each of those sections have at least 10 items each=no help! Service needs improvement! The waiters and servers dress professionally and are not rude but they need better training on how to provide customer service. We had to ask for things that they should anticipate-water, salt/pepper/ketchup. Then when we asked for something, they forgot or brought it a loong time after. While this can be forgiven if its busy, there were only 3 tables at the time with staff milling around doing nothing and watching television! Then the food also took a long time to come out which was surprising as there were only 3 tables. The churasco was ok, Ive had better! Nothing they brought was impressive and worth the price tag it came with. The portions were not large either to make up for the price. With drinks and tax/tip, the check came out to $100 for 4 people. Although the place is nicely decorated, it does not compensate for the service or quality of the food. I will not be returning unless their is improvement or a drop in price.

Two out of the three stars I'm giving this restaurant is solely based on decor. This has to be one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to. Absolutely stunning with every detail: The downstairs was loungey where you can sit in a couch like position and order appetizers and drinks. The upstairs is for larger crowds 4+. Reminds me of Gloria Estefan's restaurant in Miami, FL "Larios". Beautiful and al around stunning! Now, the other star is for presentation. I went with a group of 4 and had 2 rounds of drinks, plus a big appetizer to share and our entree's. All of these courses were BEAUTIFULLY presented. My entree was a masterpiece in and of itself. But that's where my raving stops. I had chicken stuffed with baby shrimp, and my friends had the churrasco, chicharrones and something else that I cannot remember. All of our dishes were BLAND BLAND BLAND! Totally unimpressed and a complete letdown. To emphasize what one of the previous comments said: they spent all of their money on the decor (it truly is flawless) and forgot to train their staff (emphasis on the chef).

STAFF: AWFUL!!... the waiter took for ever and was more interested in the baseball game on TV than on catering to the customer. I had high hopes for this place but I have been here twice and is always the same terrible service. However the hostess was very nice and efficient in getting us a table, once she left and the waiter took over ...that's were the service went wrong. MENU: HORRIBLE!!.... the menu looks like a bible you have no idea what to eat because you get confuse with the amount of things on this menu. I think they should focus and target one specific cuisine instead of throwing everything at you at the same time. When I asked the waiter what was their specialty he had the same confuse look on his face that I had on my face when I looked at the menu. They need to better train their staff, and understand that the restaurant business is one that you must be very careful with your clients and provide the highest level of customer service. Leaving your customer waiting for over 30 minutes without any form of follow up, is completely unacceptable. (and it was not a busy day, but the Yankees were playing so my waiter needed to follow up on the game more than on the customers!!) FOOD: The food was not pleasant. It was not hot.. it just felt warm to touch, yet cold went I put it in my mouth..which was very disturbing/annoying. They do try to make your plate look pretty, with all sorts of decorations, however...yes it looked pretty, but it was cold!. DECOR: Very pretty looking restaurant. I believe they spent all their money on décor and forgot to train their staff!!. THE LOUNGE: I really liked the lounge, the music was great. The bar tenders are very friendly and take and process your order in a reasonable amount of time. Great décor and atmosphere. Mix crowd,... some young ...some old. Great.

I went to the restaurant for dinner last night. The restaurant is beautiful, the service isn't. The waitress seemed like she had no desire to be at work. We wanted to order drinks & were told that you have to order food before drinks. Where do they do that at? She wasn't informative when explaining the entrees. When I needed my order changed b/c it was wrapped in pork. She didn't get it. She barely came over to check on us but when the bill came she was standing there like security. We were given passes to the lounge. We should have went with our first impression which was to leave. The way they checked your bag & patted your body down. You can tell there was trouble in there in the past. At the end of the night when bottle service was paid for they overcharged the card. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME THERE! There are so many other options in the area.

The food is good but the service is slow and not very friendly. It took over 45 mins to get our food and over 20mins to get bread and water. We also had to ask the server more than once to bring a cake for the bday girl. Overall, food was good but service was not..the girl server we had didnt smile once. Wont be coming back here.

This restaurant is a must stop if you're in the Washington heights Inwood vicinity. Even if you're not I would go out of my way to eat here again. The ambiance and price point was ideal and the food was amazing. The clams casino are a must have for starters. Drinks were great and the wait staff met my every need and thensome. You almost forget you're in Manhattan and escape for a moment to Miami. 5 stars.....

Place is beautiful. The decor is glamorous. The food is beyond pricey. The waiter barely paid attention to my table. He kept coming to our table to take the menus away from us because they ran out of menus. The waiter had his rude moments. When it came to billing, he billed our money on all the wrong cards. Then he had the audacity to ask us if his service was bad bc he did not get tipped. First and last time going to that place.

Food was very good, the place was absolutely beautiful they defiantly put a whole lota money up in hear, But as you will read in other reviews the service was very very slow, we were there at 2:30 pm Saturday afternoon, and the service was still slow, I could just imagine a Friday or Saturday night. The bread for the table and the salad all came out with the meal at the same time. Again the food was great drinks great! Place awesome! Why the management dose not motivate the servers more I don't know. And yes I will come again. Enjoy!

Back in NYC for vacation and couldn't resist taking a trip to South Beach! Heard mix reviews and wanted to try it for myself. Walked in with a group of 6 and was immediately seated, and drinks were taken! The Waiter was the only downfall in this trip... Takes forever to take our order and after it's taken he forgets to put it in giving it a full 1 1/2 hours for the food to even be mentioned!!! Owner came up and apologize after we all were just laying like we were starving people with no food around... He offered a round of drinks while we wait (which took another 35mins). THE FOOD HAS ARRIVED!!!! It came and it CONQUERED! It was amazing, a few ordered the marinated grilled chicken with veggies and the rest the Churrasco (skirt steak) with either mashed potatoes/fries/veggies. I had the Churrasco with fries and tasted the rest AND it was ALL amazing. Don't know if the hunger played a part in making it all taste good but hey' I'll take it! The Chimichurri Sauce for the Churrasco was not up to par as it did not resemble the traditional Chimichurri Sauce and it lack the flavor in my opinion. Price was reasonable for the food and location, wish we had another waiter though... Maybe next time.

I went to celebrate a friends birthday we had dinner it took almost 2 hours for the food to come out!! The drinks took about half an hour the waiter would forget our side orders for example my husband order skirt steak with rice and chimichurri sauce and he ask for the sauce twice and the waiter bought it to him after he finished his food! A friend came later and ordered a drink took almost an hour and they didn't know how to make the drink he wanted. Will definitely not eat there again!!

Really nice staff! Food was awesome. There may have been issues based on the wait for food based on these older reviews, but we got great service! Drinks were good too; ordered a mojito. They had a bunch of different flavors but just went with the standard one. Had the spinach and mozzarella-stuffed chicken, and empanadas as an appetizer. Will definitely be back.

I just can't understand why this place is rated 2.5 stars. This is what myself and everyone in our party (of 10) kept saying last night after our awesome experience. After reading all the negative reviews, I was a little hesitant to try this place, especially coming all the way from Queens. But, it was my boyfriend's birthday and this is what the birthday boy wanted. When we arrived, we expected to valet our car. We waited in the front for about 20 min, even called the number on the valet sign and spoke to someone, but we were still left waiting, no valet attendant in sight. So we drove off to look for our own parking and after a couple circles around the block, we were very lucky to find our own spot right in front of the restaurant. (-1 star for poor valet service). This place is beautiful, had great music playing, but not overwhelmingly loud. The waitress was very nice, came often to check in with us and kept our glasses full with sangria using the pitchers we had on the table. As for the food, it was all AMAZING. We first had appetizers.. the empanadas, and a plate with chicken, steak, yuca & platanos. All of it was to die for!! Everything was so well seasoned and cooked to perfection. As I'm writing this my mouth is watering! All of our entrees came shortly after we finished our appetizers. Perfect timing! I ordered the churrasco with chimichurri which accompanied a side of veggies, white rice and beans. (You can pick from any of their sides on the menu). This was by far the best steak I have ever had, as well as the chimichurri sauce. Everyone in our party loved their meal, not anyone had anything negative to say. My boyfriend tasted everyone's dish and said that it was all amazingly delicious. The entrees at our table consisted of: T-bone steak, shrimp mofongo, chicken cordon blu, grilled fish and churrasco. Mind you, my boyfriend and family are from the Dominican Republic, they know good food! So happy we came here and ignored all of the negative reviews. I told my boyfriend to take me for my birthday in April. If we didn't live all the way in Queens, this would probably be our new regular spot. You can't judge a place by reviews. Go check it out for yourself and let you be the judge. :)

I think it is the best only place in the heights that actually has frozen drinks like pina coladas and my all time favorite strawberry daiquiris...The food is like all other restaurants but with much more style and presentation. The restaurant itself is very well distributed and decorated....

The bf and I finally satisfied our curiosity about this place even after a few friends of ours have already expressed their disappointment. We went on the weekend following vday for lunch and they had a special vday menu so we never got to see what the actual every day menu looked like. Most of it consisted of seafood which the bf cannot have so it was pretty slim pickins. Our server came maybe 10 minutes later to greet us, we were sitting there for a good while just looking around taking all of the fancy lighting and mismatched chairs in all of the tables. We were seated right by the bussing station so we witnessed their banter and their work time gossip.. Sigh.. Anyhow, the server was a bit over the top but friendly nonetheless. We asked for water and my bf had a red sangria which he says was fantastic! I am clearly pregnant (8 mo) and was skimming the app menu which when flipped around is also a cocktail list. As I looked through the food side, the server actually took it from my hands and flipped it to the cocktails side. What?!! I snatched it back flipped it back and said "No that's not what I want to see" He was standing right next to me so he would have to be blind not to have noticed my bulging prego belly! Anyhow, food wise we ordered chicken empanadas (just 2 as they are sold individually) to start and we opted to share chicken penne ($24) he seemed satisfied and walked away. 5 minutes later he comes back with the sangria and before I could realize what was happening he has opened a Voss water bottle and poured it into the water glasses that were on the table. -__- I am pretty sure you's supposed to ask if I want 5 dollar still water before you just assume for the sake of adding on to the check. To make matters worse, when I reached for the water, the glasses were filthy ugh.. And of course server was nowhere to e found. We actually didn't see him again until after our food got to the table which was a good 20 mins later atleast. We caught the attention of grumpy busser and asked for fresh cups which we received but we had to wave him down again to have him bring over the water pitcher to refill our glasses. He must have been a mute because he never spoke a word. Hm. Sorry to bother you at work sir. Finally the apps came and not even 5 minutes later out came the pasta. Empanadas were actually not too bad but for the price, eh. The pasta was definitely nothing to write home about but we were starving so we ate what we could and had the rest boxed to go. $65 dollars later and I was not dazzled, the place will probably work best as a drink spot as they have a lovely bar on the first floor, but the food, you can find better close by.

Love the ambience at this restaurant the place is huge and jamming with great music. I was with a group of 11 people and we were sat right away in a private room which was nice. It was a Sunday night and surprisingly it wasn't packed. We ordered pitchers of sangria which were good. The food was excellent no complaints there. The portions were huge! The only reason I took a star off was because the service was very slow. The waiters were very friendly but slow. And valet charged us $10 and we ended up walking 2 blocks to get our own car in the cold. Make sense? Next time just park your own car in the street anywhere because that's what they're going to do anyway. Overall great place with great food!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! We arrived at 7PM and got our last dish at 10PM. We all ate at separate times. The first 3 plates brought out were incorrect - for ex, my friend ordered chicken cordon bleu and got chicken stuffed with spinach. They brought us our first round of drinks, and then they became so slow and incompetent I had to walk over to the bar and get our drinks for us, and bring them to the table. I walked over once and asked for the drink, never got it, walked back again, and this time made sure I waited for them to actually make the drinks then I brought them back to our table. I had placed my food order, and 45 minutes later the waitress came back over to say they were not making sushi tonight. I had to reorder at that point, and waited another 30-45 minutes for my food. We spoke to supervisors, but they were of no help. They wouldn't even subtract anything from the bill. The food was good, but WTF?!

I went there with some friends to have dinner , the place looked great , they welcome us with a huge smile and that was it...everything else wasnt that great , the busboy was kind of rude , he was probably upset about something and the waiter messed up our order a little bit ... Im giving this place 3 stars , because the food was pretty good and i didnt have to wait that long for it ...

Came here for drinks. I was looking through the $10 drinks menu (a cranberry and vodka is also $10. Really, Washington Heights?). I made the mistake of asking the bartender for their recommendation. The bartender whipped up their own concoction, which I assumed was also $10. This thing ending up costing me $14. I didn't even finish it. $14? Is that so, South Beach? Come on. Why not tell me ahead of time that the thing was as much as a meal there. Was it that hard to do? If not for that little stunt, I would have returned for a happy hour. No mas! Marcha, a few blocks away, has a decent happy hour. Just opened as well. I'd rather go there.

After reading all the reviews, I decided to go again and for the second time in over a year and was just as happy with the service and food as I was the first time. Yesterday, being a busy Friday night, we were taken care of very quickly. Our drinks came out quickly, Hennessy for him and an apple martini for me, which tasted just right! We skipped apps and went straight in to ordering our meals which came out in about fifteen minutes. This time I had the churrasco and shrimp, which came with rice and roasted potatoes. Everything tasted Amazing! Seasoned well and huge portions. I couldn't finish even half of my meal but my boyfriend, the birthday boy, devoured his whole plate within ten minutes (he also had the churrasco). Our server, Heydy, was so sweet and surprised my boyfriend his cake at the perfect time, along with her gang of back up singers! He was so embarrassed! Lol. I get the "everyone speaks spanish" part, but it is in The Heights! No way you can give this place a low rating for that. I witnessed non-spanish speaking parties having just a good time as we were. Food and service was great! Music was just the right volume! The birthday boy loved his first time here! :) Overall, awesome time!!!

It gets one star because of its beautiful appearance but do no judge a book by its cover! The service is horrible, my waiter came to the table to greet us 10mins after we were already sitting down he took our order and that was the last we saw of him. Our food came out warm, didn't seem like it just got out the kitchen. The filet minion had no flavor and was so dry and chewy I couldn't finish it. At one point I had to get up and hunt down one of the workers jus to get salt. When I went to the restroom, not one stall had toilet paper so I had to wait till I got home to use the restroom then. Yeah, you can get the drift from this, horrible experience overall. Will not come back!

The food was horrible. Not only were my fellow colleagues lobster tails dry, cold, and tasteless, but my churrasco was completly raw and also cold. Aside from having to wait a long time for the food to arrive, when it did it wasnt worth the wait. The waitress was a sweet heart and i felt so bad for her because she seemed very nervous because of all of the complaints she was getting from every1 at the table on the food being cold tasteless, and terrible. So sad because their decor is pretty nice but thats about it. I dont recomend this place.

Awesome food is served here but the service is horrible. Wait staff does not check back on tables you have to stop servers to get a refill on drinks. The people who work on both sides of the restaurant have nasty attitudes. Out of all of my visits there is only one waitress who is pleasant I don't not know her name but she works in the take out side and has tight curls and often wears it in a ponytail. They do not speak much English. But the food is really good and very convenient for me.

If they had a percentage of 1 star, I would give them that. The service was horrendous. The servers were less than friendly. It was busy but there were some empty tables and it is Friday night I do not understand why it took 45 minutes to get our bottle of wine... Then an additional 10 minutes to even get two glasses. I tried to call the server over (kindly) for assistance when she was not even going to another table, and she yelled at me from afar and I could not even hear what the hell she said over the loud (but good) music. I would say her name, but I NEVER got it. The hostess was leaning on the podium, no greeting for our group or even a SMIRK. Others in my party said their cocktails were "ehhh" and the food was not anything to call home about. I DON'T GET IT. MI NO YOU I DO NOT WRITE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FOR FUN, that's just not me, this place was THAT disappointing. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went here on a Saturday night because My girlfriend was looking for a nice place to eat with live music. No wait time on a Saturday and were seated immediately. They asked if we want to smoke hookah and when I said no We were then taken to the upstairs section "which was fine by me" the view downstairs was cool while sitting on top. Ladies go dressed nice because you will want to keep up with the competition. Honestly... a lot of good looking women. We were taken good care of by the waiter and when he wasn't around another waiter was more than helpful. Drinks were good although I don't get to fancy "goose tónic and lime" my girl had the mojito which I tried and was good. We had two apps the mofonguito de cangrejo "plaintain with crab" y las almejas "baked clams" both were amazing!! Great flavor and nicely presented. We then decided to order the mixed marisco y carne " mixed seafood and meat" for two people. It was more than enough and it came with grilled chicken, shrimp, skirt steak, lobster, calamari, clams, tostones and yuca frita. Very very good and filling. The experience was nice and the service was perfect. Our waiter then gave us two free tickets to enter the nightclub conveniently located next door. Overall a good night. The place is cool and won't break the bank.

I should have followed my instincts before i went to this place; i went there to eat with my family and it was not what i was expecting. The food was horrible, i ordered Pasta primavera and the pasta was very dry and did not have a taste, my boyfriend ordered "Pechuga de Pollo rellena de Jamon y Queso" and the chicken was very dry. So this place is all about the nice decoration, the staff was rude, i don't suggest this place to anyone that expect quality of service. it's sad that someone makes a such investment to hire so many unprofessional staff members. ;(

Excellent food, awesome service, and good atmosphere to relax and enjoy the low volume music. Great place.

Food was delicious. Service was HORRIBLE!!! The wait was about an hour to just get drinks on the table and another hour to get food on the table. This place looks pretty cool, it has a "summer vacation spot" kinda feeling and they play all types of latin music. Be prepare to know your spanish because it seemed to me they do not speak english at all. I would not go back for food but maybe for drinks and to check out the lounge they have on the first floor.

Very nice looking place for the area. Had a dirty martini which was good, but the service was very bad. We were a party of four and they brought out one person's food (without the side) 20 minutes before everyone else's food. Also waiter didnt even know what was on the menu... On top of everything when the check came it had doubled one $26 item plus an automatic 28% tip. Not going there again for food!

Decided to go last night with the wife after all the previous bad reviews that i read. The place looks really nice. What I like is that the music wasn't so loud that you have to scream to talk to the other people in the table. Goods: Food was good, music was good, fast service and nice decorations etc Cons: My waiter was in another world. We tell him that we wanted Coconut Mojito and the guy understood that I wanted a mojito with Coke in it. He tells me "is not going to taste good". Lol I was like wtf. I meant a coconut mojito NOT a mojito with coke. On top of all that he brings us regular Mojitos. Then when he took our food order he mess up. My waif asked for a churrasco. When it gets there her plate had churrasco and shrimp. She asked him "I order a churrasco not with shrimp" the waiter answers "don't worry the meat is not going to taste like shrimp". My wife looked at me like this guy is not paying attention. We noticed for some reason the waiter was ear dropping the table next to us, he kept looking at them etc. well that was my experience of this place. Mostly good but just our crazy waiter not paying attention to the things we order.

Cons The waiter only gave us one small basket of tortilla chips for 7 people. I should of known than thats how much attention to detail the service will be. Short and simple as a restaurant this is not the place to go SERVICE WAS FAR BELOW AVERAGE. I experience long delays (20min-30min) in between ordering drinks, appetizers and main course. Even though we had a large party. FOOD WAS NOT BROUGHT OUT AT SAME TIME. MORE CONS Some peoples food was cold even after 1 hr long wait FOOD IS EITHER A HIT OR MISS. Steaks were good, pasta was not IT SEEMS BECAUSE GRATUITY IS INCLUDED THEY COULD CARELESS IF YOU LIKE THERE SERVICE OR NOT.. PRICE ARE HIGH especially considering poor service and location. Lets get it together this is not downtown manhattan PROS The place did feel like it brought south beach to nyc May be a better lounge than restaurant Nice eye-candy in the area ;-) Overall the reviews i read before coming here were accurate. I wont put myself in a positions to spend some much money on food that is not served with care that is cold and un tasteful.

Bad service!!! Came to South beach with 3 other of my girl friends we went to the bar because in there was a 40 min wait, there were 2 bartenders & they didn't look like they enjoyed bar tending at all because they were ignoring us & to be honest I think that they only serve the guys because some random man that tried to help us called the bartenders for us & when they both finally looked slightly toward us still waited 10 extra min for them, mind you they weren't even attending other customers, like wtf?. They were so unprofessional that they gave us the bill before giving us our drinks.. how rude! Moving on, when my name was finally called for a table we went upstairs & walked on this long way through waiters to get to our table. Food was horrible ughhh don't even want to remember. They're supper unorganized! The place is pretty but not all that I've seen way better for less work & I wouldn't recommend it unless It's for a few fast drinks only & if you're lucky enough to not get the same bartenders as we did of course. Lol

So I use to love eating here but this is the second time I eat here and get food poisoning. The first time my wife had chicken and gave her food poisoning. I thought maybe it was something else she ate! But today we both had ribs and made both of is sick... Really I cant believe this! Another things the staff are horrible! Their staff needs to be trained....

Boy should i have heed the warning before coming We walk in tell the hostess its 5 of us, the hostess says it's a 1 hr Waite, fine the place is packed there isn't even a spot to stand by, luckily we get 2 seat by the bar which were offered to our friends, then after 30 mins of standing in 6in heels I see there are table available upstairs so I ask the hostess and she has the gull to say ' well the problem hasn't been the seating we have seats available its just that there's a problem in the kitchen' STRIKE 1!..so you mean to tell me I have been standing for 30 mins because you have a problem in you kitchen, some one with some sense would have said that from the beginning maybe something like....' sorry ladies we have a problem in the kitchen you can not order food for another hr, but we can seat you and you can order drinks in the mean time' !!! ..so I tell her that's fine we can just seat in order drinks until the problem is fixed. Then as we try to make our way up with our drinks the hostess say you have to pay for them here first time ever that a restaurant makes you pay for a drink at the bar before they seat, they couldn't just transfer the bill to you table..no! that was STRIKE 2!..We Waited another 15 min for the bartender to give us the bill after I clearly say just charge mine and another friends she charges me for all 5 drinks STRIKE 3! In a little less than an hr! We finally get upstairs, no one come by for ten mins but we were fine since we already had a our drinks, had we not, that would have been unacceptable, so a waiter finally comes gives us menus half an hr later I want some water so I have to ask for it there not just going to give it to you there on top of there game at all!.. and that was pretty much the constant struggle threw out the night, asking for something, them forgetting about it waiting another 10 mins for it and so forth biggest thing was it was a friends bday and I specifically asked for a cake with a candle and guess what!!. a cake with no candle comes out!! SERIOUSLY!!! That was it for me after I specifically asked for that, we finally get the bill and the waiter has the gull to give himself a 20% tip..umm excuse me, I think not!! Not with this service .I was going to asking why he just chose to give him self a tip which he clearly didn't deserve, but they did not want me to do it so I said I would just go on yelp and tell them about our less than subpar experience. i know service take a team effort meaning bussers and waiters, but lord they need to seriously get it together over here and for a $300 bill id expect better service owner need to intervine ASAP HORRIBLE SERVICE

I came here for a friends birthday dinner party. Our waitress was unfamiliar with the wines available, the menu and generally seemed a little lost. The menu is similar to that of a diner, too long, too many choices and no real theme (they have Mexican, Japanese, Italian). The customer service was poor, we had to keep calling the servers over to refill water glasses, order wine/beer, etc. The decor is really over the top but I like it, it is very south beach. My tip to the owner would be to pare down the menu and train your staff!

The service was quick & waiter was friendly. Food was good we had grill chicken with baked Potato and chicken lemon, mojito was ok but the milk cake was good. They gave us free admission to lounge.

Well , first of all you should know I eat out all the time , and I am not easy to impress , however , this place I really liked and most likely will be back soon .... Food was not all that good , but in reality that is not the main reason to go to a place like this .... I really enjoyed the decor and ambiance , the music was classy and I hope they keep it like that , even though in that neighborhood that could be challenging ...one thing I suggest is to dim the lights a little at the main bar ....

beautiful beautiful place but the service sucks i went there to celebrate my sisters graduation party and we had a horrible time first the ac was so low it felt like we where really in south beach when we told the waiter if there was something she could do she had an attitude about it and said she wasnt hot they cranked up the ac so low it was than freezing we waited 30 minutes to order then when the food get there they bring half the orderd said the rest werent ready yet 10 minutes later when half of the table is almost done they bring the rest of the orders everytime we needed the waiter it was a 5 to 10 minute wait for a beer more water etc the food was ok and so was the prices but their service really really sucks.

So I was having a great dinner with my wife and two kids, we took a few pictures and were enjoying ourselves. We finished our meal and headed home. I then realized I left my iPhone on the table. I called my phone with my wife's phone and it was off, so I couldn't track it (which I found weird) Next I call the restaurant to see if anyone picked it up, they said no. So next thing I did was head over there. Nobody at the time knew where the phone was. I then noticed they had cameras and asked to see surveillance video. They asked me if I would please wait for some CCTV tech, I refused to wait. Then they asked me to wait in the front. I waited for about 20 min then the manager comes with my phone in his hand and tells me that the bus boy tried to chase us while we were leaving. My thing is that if that was the case why was my phone off, with 82% battery? All that after a huge tip. Never eating at this place again.

Im giving this restaurant two stars only for its appearance. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. However I can not say so much for the food. The service was good, and the waiter was very attentive, but the food sucked. I ordered the seafood and meat combination platter for two, and got a dish that seemed to be for one. Not only that, but the seafood and meats were very over cooked and completely unseasoned... not a sprinkle of salt or a piece of pepper.. Just completely BLAND.The drinks were pretty good, and the appetizers were definitely way better than the main course meals. My first experience definitely wasn't worth the money. If i return it'll probably be to enjoy the lounge area downstairs. They have hookah :)

This place looks really nice when you walk in but by far the worst service ever! It took like an hour for them to bring us water. They brought our appetizer before they even brought us our drinks. I asked for lemon and they never brought it. Every time the waitress actually came to the table she wouldn't even give us time to order, she walked away after each persons order and we were a group of 8. My friend ordered diet coke and she brought him regular and started pouring it before even asking if it was okay that they didn't have diet. The table next to us got like full course meals and they were also like a group of 8 and they got their food before we even got water when they got there like 40 minutes after us. It just doesn't make sense. For the first time my bf agreed that the service was bad, usually he thinks I'm just being picky but this was just over the top ridiculous. Everything that could've been wrong went totally wrong. Very disappointed with the service. Definitely won't be going back there again.

Very nice place in Washington heights. The food is good and the waiters are a little off sometimes, but good. The music is usually Latin, but not always. They do have a lounge downstairs as well as a big bar and a take out small restaurant next door, which is very continue by during lunch time I guess. They have a nice party room.

Too fancy to be stuck right in the middle of Washington heights. Food is okay I expected better and the liquor doesn't even get you drunk....

So this place is all about the nice decoration, the staff was rude, i don't suggest this place to anyone that expect quality of service. it's sad that someone makes a such investment to hire so many unprofessional staff members. ;(

Lol

beautiful place to go eat good drinks a bit over priced, i told my waiter to charge $100 to my card when i got my statement they charged me $200 and i called and they told me i had to go in to fix the problem and from where i drove the drive is worth over $100 don't pay with card!
