This is my go-to spot when I need a quick meal for Breakfast or Lunch. Nice, friendly, quick service with a large variety of different options to choose from. They have many healthy options from Salads, Sandwiches, Quinoa Bowls, Fresh made Pasta Dishes, soups, smoothies, etc. They also have an amazing looking dessert counter that is very hard to stay away from. I highly recommend the South Beach Wrap or the Quinoa Bowls for breakfast. And for lunch they have very decently priced custom salad that you can put A LOT of toppings in! It's the most toppings for your dollar at this place! They have a few chairs/ counters to sit at, but it's mostly a take out/ deli type of service.

I went in today for lunch today (it was not busy) and was greeted by the young lady at the counter and was directed where to go and place my order. The gentleman behind the counter was busy cleaning. I waited for about a minute before I glanced over, for some help, to the cashier (she was kind) to get the attention of the gentlemen making the food to help me. This is how our interaction went: Me: Are all your sauces vegan? Gentleman: *scoffs* what? Me: Are all your sauces vegan? Gentleman: *scoffs again* what???! Me: Are all your sauces..... Vegan?? Gentleman: Yes!! (Very rudely) Me: Okay, I would like a quinoa bowl. (At this point the gentleman turned around in the middle of me ordering and started cleaning so now I am talking to him with his back turned to me.) I stopped ordering and just waited for him to turn back to me at least 30 seconds to a min) It did not happen. I didn't understand what was happening, I couldn't believe the lack of customer service to the point of me decided to verbalize, "Just forget it," and I walked out and took my business across the street to The Juice Shop and was helped promptly with a smile. I realize now why the place was empty at lunchtime. It was honestly the worst customer service I have received in New York. I rated it 1 star because... Well I didn't even get to try the food but I certainly will not be going back. /end rant

I dont know why there are so many negative reviews posted here. I am writing this yelp after eating an amazing sandwich. Had a break from A&P class at nearby Touro College and I was on search for a great sandwich. Came here as per my wifeys recommendation . Should said Flavors had a sandwich and soup deal for under $10..I was like "word". In the city , thats pretty cheap. So I came through, perused the menu and in my limited time remaining opted for the Grilled Filet of Salmon. Man oooooo man , it was off the chain. It came with roasted tomotoes , arugula , and low fat basil aioli on an 8 grain baguette. So......need I say more?? It was a cascade of taste perfectly articulated with my digestive system. Even the aroma of the place is nice. The nice aroma of fresh food being produced , not that backdoor alley aroma where the garbage is thrown out . Things to try next time : BAKED CHICKEN CUTLER CRANBERRY TURKEY SALAD FALAFEL BURGER (maybe lol) Check it out , yelpers. The one in Chelsea. Cant vouch for other locations. Damn, im late to class..

Dear Flavors, YOU SUCK. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with cheese and egg on a bagel. The cook made me the wrong sandwich, when I pointed this out, he told me that's not what I had ordered, I said no and repeated my order. So I waited for him to make it again, everyone is moving slow btw. Then I waited in line as they took an order from another woman and let her pay even though my sandwich was waiting there and while waiting, they gave "my sandwich" to another man, only to have them give it to me and now I am just opening this sandwich to find they gave me the wrong sandwich anyway. You could not have shown more ignorance or negligence in your job if you had tried.

I was in NYC the past several days and stumbled across this restaurant while headed to the PATH train back to NJ. I was searching for a Café Metro, which I love because of the "make your own pasta" bar. I noticed that Flavor had something quite similar and decided to give it a try. Overall I would say good. Not great, but good. The vodka sauce was a bit thick and a little too sweet for me and I was very disappointed that they had no Italian sausage however, the available proteins (chicken, beef sausage, etc.) were good and fresh. The other ingredients were good, seemed fresh and full of flavor and weren't overdone. The crabcake sandwich was very large and for approximately $8, a good deal. The bread was a touch stale but not offensive, the crabcake seemed to have plenty of lump meat and not full of filler. Again, not the best crabcake I've had, but quite good for the price. I still prefer Café Metro, I think they've though through the sauces a bit better and the number of sides for pasta are greater, but Flavor does a good job. The seating is interesting. A single, two person table and 6-7 seats that sit at a bar next to the window. I think there's room for more tables and the single table seemed more like a taunt than helpful. They should add a few more tables and structure the line so that ordering customers can wind their way around the customers eating. Lastly, the cashiers weren't tremendously friendly but weren't unfriendly. There was a bit of confusion when trying to process the right customer with the right food, but nothing that completely overwhelmed the process. Overall, good food, good service and a few tweaks could make it a lot better.

Just went into this store. The service guy was extremely rude to the customer before me and myself. He them proceeded to attempt to use the same bowl for that customer to serve up my food for the pan even though it's clear each customer gets their own to go bowl. When I asked for a fresh one, he tossed it in a huff. After he started mixing all the serving tongs with different items while dishing out his attitude and my protein, I finally walked out and probably won't be returning.

This place has very attractive colors and I love the name. It's also right by my school and a great place to go for that lunch of soup and sandwich combo, salad for salad lovers too. What I like about them is that they don't give you soup and half a sandwich. You still get a whole sandwich with your soup. I really like their cranberry turkey salad. That's my regular. I'll get soup on occasion. Great little spot.

I highly recommend NOT going to this place. It took forever to call my order in for a pick-up. When I ate my eggplant panini, which was like two minutes after paying for my food since I work right there, my panini was slightly warm on the outside and still cold on the inside! I also felt nauseous after eating the first half. It's not like it's uncooked meat, it's was a vegetarian friendly panini! Honestly, I was so dissatisfied that I wouldn't even give the second half to a homeless person... On the upside: My bread was not soggy! :)

The quinoa bowls are not so much a healthy choice. The bowls come drowning in oil and the turkey meatballs and beef sausage (aka kielbasa sausage) were pretty salty. The sauces were decent- very teriyaki and scallion ginger but the raw veggies looked just ok. The mushrooms they use are from the can. The Napa cabbage was bitter. Fresh and co. Hands down makes a better quinoa bowl. May be more pricier but the portion and quality of ingredients are worth it!

My go to spot for breakfast and a quick lunch for my 9 to 5 schedule. Nice service though it can be a bit backed up in the morning. My go to would be the kale egg white platters. Super healthy and fresh. The oatmeal or cream of wheat with toppings included and the lunch soups. Go for the italian wedding. Great turkey meatballs in a flavorful soup. Even the prepared meals are great. The thai chicken salad or the tofu salad were all made fresh and had a nice flavor. It's a bit pricey but they have solid dishes. Tip: go for the rewards card as you get $5 off every $100 spent.

ok this reveiw is based on their catering only. I have not been to there Chelsea location but that location catered and in house meeting at my office. The food was DEELISHOUS!!!!:) Honestly the assortment of sandwiches, salads and desserts were awesome. Everyone in the offece was pleased and thats hard to do. If im in the area I will stop into the store to see if service is awsome as well. I had the chicken wrap and walnut blue chesse salad and they tasted great!!!

After some major sticker shock following an $8 cup of average Hale and Harty soup, I started searching around for another decent soup spot. $5 for a decent size soup is totally what I'm talking about. Tried the lobster bisque, which was amazing, and opted for the turkey chili, which I'm pretty satisfied with. Meaty and flavorful - a little oversalted, but that's most soup. Will def be back bc Chelsea/Flatiron is too pricey for its own good and a girl's gotta eat.

I am going to keep this short and sweet: You expect when your paying upwards of 9$ for a salad that you would have better customer service. When I actually said that very thing while checking out (my bill being 11 something dollars), the only response was "you have a good day". And not even eye contact, instead her eyes met the people at the salad bar who made my crap salad. Wow. If you can find anywhere else, just go.

Great salads and staff. This is a tasty and healthy option here in chelsea. Try the sante fe salad...WHOA!

It's not as bad as the other reviews. Good options for people watching their weight out on a high protein diet. If you love fatty goodness, this place will disappoint you.

A new cafe in the Flatiron District that offers organic with a vegetarian conscience. With a company move, I came to a consensus of adjusting to Chelsea with little options for food and cafes or deli's. Flavors Cafe produced one onion bagel toasted at $1.19 and opt for a small bottle of water at $1.50. The cream cream was one big tube of goo slapped onto the bread of the bagel which was also somewhat salty. I used their 10% discount coupon for first time visit. Service is efficient and the queue move in sporadic intervals. Flavors Cafe conveniently sits on the corner of the 23rd Street F train. With a strict budget in mind, I would not return to Flavors as they are extremely overpriced. Panini's are $7.29, their so-called "cutting edge sandwiches" are $7.25, and wrap sandwiches are $6.99?? Whoa, what to do break into a bank in order to live and eat?! Flavors does not offer a whole lot of flavor to my life: "But if that salt has lost its flavor It ain't got much in its favor!!"

Over-priced for food I can make at home and have it taste better.

What up dude. I asked for a bacon egg and cheese on a whole wheat roll this morning and I got no bacon. But I sure paid $6.79 (plus a small coffee) for it. So much for one of their $3.79 breakfast specials for a two egg sandwich and coffee... clearly they don't execute on their specials. Next time I come here (because it's sadly right across the street), I am definitely sticking to a flat bagel with butter. Nothing else too complicated or they'll mess it up.

Le sigh, definitely should've checked this place out before walking in. I thought you couldn't go to wrong with a salad but hey, I clearly don't know anything. Got the falafel salad and man is it unlike any falafel I've ever had. It's like really dry German rye, kind of difficult to swallow and has an oddly synthetic taste. The rest of the salad isn't much better zzz. Everything's pretty bland and unfresh, browning leaves (eww) and even the caesar dressing tastes super low cal super low fat to the point of probably tasting the same without it?? I don't understand. Even Kraft Caesar would taste WAY better than this. The only good thing about this salad is probably the tofu, which actually tastes like tofu (surprise surprise) and cost me an extra $2.25.. You know all those people who don't understand why someone would have a salad? This is probably exactly what they think of as they scrunch up their faces. I hate giving one stars but staring into this bowl of fake greens desperately trying to finish it is starting to make me feel a bit sorry for myself. And it cost me a whopping $12.04 too. Ugh.

Update from my previous review , looks like this place I setting a little better in service and the food is getting back to being good portions. I hope they stay consistent

Shifty pushing practices. Ordered the $6.99 advertised half soup half sandwich combo. "$7.99?" I point to the $6.99 sign. Counter guy makes a big deal about how small the bowl is and how he's upgrading me to the bigger soup. Pours it out for me. I figure it's a slow day and they need to get rid of the soup; they're being nice to the customers. Nope. I get charged extra for more soup I didn't ask for. Paid it but expressed my displeasure. Walked out feeling my a*s was a little sore.

We stumbled on this little corner cafe and it was perfect, while not being particularly expensive. The menu is "healthy, fresh, natural" and local. I bought an egg white omelet wrap, Florentine flavored, and it was delicious. The hot oatmeal was offered with both water and skim milk, and offered multiple fruit options, of which I chose strawberry, and granola. The decaf coffee was excellent, as was the regular. My wife had an omelet, which was great, but the first banana she picked was too soft, and she returned it. The music playing was fairly contemporary, the heating was more than adequate, and the inside was bright and clean, so we stayed and ate, giving me time to compose this review. I can't comment on the staff, other than to say they were friendly and efficient. It was fun watching the hustle and bustle through the wide open windows, but the seats were just average. Overall, a great, guilt-free choice, and I will definitely return!

The foods there are okay do not taste great nut it's ok for the prices that are quite reasonable compared to surrounding neighbors. The place is not for seating to relax and chat for long. There are only about four square tables with two chairs each. It is for take out or "sit eat quick and go" kind of place. late Only the casher lady who was also in charge of making coffee beverages was the only unhappy person there but except her, everyone had really great smiles on their faces and no stuff there was just chilling but working and getting done their tasks super quick. If I came here again I may try their coffee but would not give another chance for their Café au lait. Their pre-made sandwiched are okay Good location, Open till 8:30p.m. and the interior is blight and clean looking. The interior makes me feel womewhat like the combination of apple store and david's tea.

I stumbled upon Flavors on a recent quest for soup. The smells coming out of the storefront were very good so I thought to myself they probably make good soups as well. I ordered myself a cup of their Organic Split Pea Soup. It wasn't too expensive (slightly under $4) and comes with a side of bread. As far as flavoring goes, it wasn't bad at all, but the soup was definitely watered down and I prefer a bit more substance. I'll likely be back to try out their sandwiches because it really did smell so good. Service was lickety-split quick. I was in and out of there within 3 minutes!

All the haters reviewing this place, chill out and get some context--do you remember what this place used to be? It's SO much better now. It's clean, relatively quick and the people seem to actually care. (Except for the people on the registers, who are so awesomely oblivious in the morning that you have to love them.) This place is fine--it's like any other Bread & Butter-like place where you can get sandwiches and salads--and they do a very very good egg white sandwich in the morning. It's grease-less and filling.

A little pricey but my salad was fresh and tasted great. A lot better than most of places in the area. The service was quick. I wish they had a bigger soup selection that's why I am giving them a 4. But the place was clean, staff was friendly and my salad was delicious.

  • Marie C.

High quality, fresh and a great amazing selection!! They are right across the street from my office and much much healthier than anything else around. Their soups are really good, several vegetarian alternatives and you can sample before you buy :) Prices are totally okay for the area and the tuna salads are something else!! I love it!

  • Linda L.

You are better off buying from the breakfast street vendor in front of Best Buy!!!! A bacon egg and cheese almost $5!!! That is not even the problem because I would pay $10 for a bacon egg and cheese IF it was good. The bacon was very thick and had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR, the eggs tasted like it came from a frozen bottle, just disgusting and to complete my horrible breakfast sandwich, I had a few "sprinkles" of cheese if you can call it that. The guy that takes the breakfast order is rude and the cashiers are rude, this place is just awful. Go to Dunkin Donuts, the deli across the street or like I said before the food cart in front of Best Buy. This place doesn't deserve your hard earned money.

  • Clare H.

Overpriced - they think they could charge more by simply putting up a "natural" and "healthy" sign. Got a 16.9 oz sparkling fruitwater and it costs $3.21, almost a dollar more than what it costs in drug stores. Will never go there again.

Just an epic fail of a visit. Ive yet to give them a second chance, even though they are less than a block from my work. In the display case is a falafel sandwich... laid out like a burger.. ok, whatever. The description card says "vegan" under the title. ... its on a cheese covered roll. so, ok the patty itself is vegan but the sandwich is not. (Since when is falafel NOT vegan?) I mentioned this to the counter person, it was totally lost on them. Im not sure if they completely didnt give a damn about what I was saying or simply didnt understand what I was trying to tell them. So basically I asked for it to be made on a different bread. This took way too longer than it should have, several employees and a lot of explaining. They finally settled on a baguette type bread, which means they had to cut the patty in half to fit. At this point, its ALMOST comical. almost. sigh. Once I get my deconstructed and reconstructed sandwich I take it to Madison Square park to enjoy it. I did not. dry. flavorless(ironic, right?) I returned it. I explained to the manager the whole situation, he asked if I wanted something else out of the case. Do you offer anything else vegan? No. Well then, Ill take a refund.

I've been working in the flatiron area for so long and finally gave this place a shot-- it's beyond my expectation! Custom salad cost $8.99 which is not cheap, but, it includes 10 toppings including salmon or tuna! Also a few "premium topping" like avocado and cheese (cost extra at Just Salad across street). I hope they keep the way it is and don't raise the price for the fish selection. For me it a rare find not charging extra for fish! And the salad is chopped! The custom salad is a much better deal than Just Salad which I used to go all the time; it cost at least $9.5 to have chicken! See ya Just Salad!

  • Peace L.

The food is just okay (ample portions)--I go there on rainy days or when in desperate need of a change. Not an eatery I'd go out of my way to patronize. Also, a word to management--salad packers should not be using their gloved-hands to WIPE the counter (not even with a rag, just with their hands) or to PICK UP THE PHONE. I witnessed this for the first time the other day and it needs to STOP. In fact as they are picking up and packing the lettuce with their hands, they should not use the same gloved-hands to do ANYTHING other than pack the salads. Additionally, the sandwich guys are too aggressive in getting you to order right away.

    (2)
  • Sean R.

It was good but I was surprised at the quality of lettuce for a salad joint? Anyway, I can't complain as the food tasted good and they have a great selection of healthy choices with unlinmited variety.

    (4)
  • Karen H.

Okay food for expensive sandwiches. Very fast pace service. Not bad if you are in a hurry and want to grab something fast. There is not a lot of seats here so if you come with a friend maybe one of you get online and the other get a seat so when the food is ready there is somewhere to seat and chill for lunch.

    (3)
  • R T.

As other reviewers have noted, this place is NOT hygienic. I spotted sandwich makers using rag to wipe counters, then make a sandwich. One even put his finger in his mouth while moving sandwiches in cases. I complained, but management seemed NOT to care. Won't be going back. Also sandwiches are greasy and there is very little seating.
