What's great about this place -atmosphere (refreshing in the midst of nyumc) -the ham and pear sandwich was fantastic and a good size -the ice cream sandwiches and pastries looked awesome and were reasonably priced -calorie count provided for the health conscious Only downside -no sides come with the sandwich and it's about $10 per sandwich

If this place wasn't one of the only close by restaurants to my work, I would never come here. That being said, if you forget your lunch and you happen to work in the area, this place will do. Overall the food is decent, well prepared, and good. However, the portions are really small for the price. Recently I paid $11 for a sandwich that I finished in 4 bites. I really only come here for the soup now, which isn't such a horrible deal ($5 for a decent bowl). In general, avoid if you can; and if you can't avoid it, it won't be the end of the world.

I work near this location, and I really wish it were better because its so convenient, but alas. Sometimes I am in the mood for a $12 sandwich, and will gladly pay for it if its good. But, I will not be okay with paying that much if its only so-so, and the service is HORRENDOUS. I can't deal with paying that much to be disappointed and then have my change practically thrown at me. Four out of the five times I've been there, I've had shockingly bad customer service interactions. I have no idea what's going on with their staff, but if feels kinda like going to the DMV. Call me a brat, but I expect more from my over-priced sandwich experience.

This is a such a pretty place and I go here sometimes for lunch as I work nearby. It is a little expensive, but I don't really mind since the food is really good and the space itself very beautiful. The reason I am giving two stars only (I would have given four) is that the staff is not great, particularily the two ladies who are usually behind the counter. Today when I went there, the woman who took my order got most of what I ordered wrong and seemed not to be completely with it in general (I am assuming she was either high or hadn't sleep for days). The woman who seems to be in charge is chronically irritable and rude, not only today. Such a shame, a lovely place otherwise.

The view alone earns this 'wichcraft an automatic 2 stars, but the food is so subpar! The descriptions of their sandwiches and menu offerings look like they have such great potential - like they're the kind of thing you so desperately want to say "YEAH, now that's GOOD!" Unfortunately, you don't get the satisfaction of saying that and what comes out of your mouth is "Meh .. it's all right, I guess." I ordered myself a Free-Range Chicken Salad Sandwich on Multigrain. I received the sandwich as soon as I ordered it (so the majority of their sandwiches are premade) and it tasted really bland. All I tasted were chunks of plain chicken (not enjoyable). My colleague was also in agreement - he ordered the Turkey BLT and said it was very blah. We definitely echoed one another's thoughts that the food descriptions don't match the actual taste of the food. You don't need to order from here to enjoy the spectacular view. Get something from a deli nearby and then walk on over instead.

Fantastic BLT - a bit pricy and out of the way if you are not needing to be so east. Def worth it for those who enjoy natural food even fattening natural food!

I have been coming to Wichcraft recently for lunch. I ordered a potato salad with my tomato soup today and with the first bite, I knew something was wrong. It was fizzy, almost like someone had doused the whole thing in seltzer water. I work with microorganisms on a daily basis so I know when something has gone bad. And this salad had definitely gone bad. So I went up to the counter to ask for a refund. Did the staff take my complaints seriously? No. It was clear they thought I was making it up ("But it was made today!"). Did they respond professionally? No. Rather, I got the impression that they were annoyed I was taking up their time, even though they were the ones who sold me a bacteria-infested potato salad! I did eventually receive a (half-hearted) apology as well as a refund (although they did not give me a receipt to confirm it had been refunded to my credit card). Mistakes happen. I get it. Sometimes rotten food gets put on the shelves. However, when someone points it out, you respond quickly and professionally to resolve it. In my opinion, Wichcraft did neither. For that alone they get a one star review in my book. I will not be coming back .

Closest place from my work for a semi-gourmet lunch. I ordered the roast pork sandwich because I had heard good things about it on Yelp and also because I love pork. It was $9 something which is somewhat pricey for a sandwich. To add insult to injury, the sandwich was such a dinky little thing! I will say that the flavor is good and the sandwiches are clearly original creations. I can see that this would probably be enough to make it worth $9 for most people but unfortunately - or fortunately - I have never possessed the most distinguished taste buds, and for me, at least, a sandwich from any nearby deli for $5 would be just as satisfying.

31/2 stars. Chain. Many locations Good service. smiling cashier. Clean cool space. Modern, simple. Order at counter, bring sign to table....wait. They bring ur food. Simple cafeteria like. NYU medical center people eating here mostly. Met a friend who works at NYU. Food OK. Zucchini salad tasty but sooooooo oily. Zucchini and red peppers drenched in oil. Dressing tasty. Arugula and greens fresh. Panninis good. Portions good. Not to much. Not too little. Tried ice cream sandwich- super good. Flat pb cookies with strawberry ice cream. Yum! I would come again. Decent place. Not craving anything they serve. They do serve breakfast all day which may be good too!

Very clean and spacious. I love how the walls are made out of the glass and the chairs look like they belong in a modern art museum. It's tucked away from 1st Avenue but the short 1-minute walk is enjoyable -- the view of the East River is gorgeous. Service is also fantastic: they give you a sign after you order so that they can bring the food to you! They also have free water above the milk and condiments. I've only had their sandwiches. I highly recommend the Goat Cheese, Roasted Turkey, and Zucchini & Mozzarella. I had the Chopped Chickpeas today and it was a bit too sour and bitter for me...like a wet salad between 2 slices of bread. But hey, I can see some people liking that...just not me.

OMG! this place is amazing! We had the steak sandwich, so scrumptious, and the chicken, bacon and avocado on greens salad. Everything was so yummy and flavorful. At nearly $10 for the 'wich it was a bit pricey, but not at all regrettable. Not really crowded because it's tucked away. Make sure you check out Tom's garden on the other side of the circle drive, it's awesome! Kid front: very limited selection: pbj or grilled cheese.

my favorite $1.15 cookies!!! tHE BEST and freshest I ate. My favorite is the peanut butter. I will go back since I am always around NYU and Bellevue. Awesome!! the cafe has a great view inside and outside. I would consider it a great lunch place or breakfast.

A nice clean space, but it's a chain, and chains are chains. The chick pea salad was pretty good - healthy - which I appreciated.

I work nearby and this place is a great standby. The sandwiches are excellent and the salads are really good too. I would probably not get the turkey sandwich again but the others are pretty awesome. A little expensive but on par with NYC.
