I live close by and have the choice of two pizza/Italian restaurant places. Each are different, which makes it great for the customer. We very much enjoy Nonno's chicken parm platters (includes pasta & a salad) and their price for it. Also excellent is the cheesy garlic bread. After reading some of the reviews, we'll want to try a few more things and possibly dine in.

There are a couple of Italian places in the neighborhood to go to. This places beats them all hands down. I've been going here since they opened up years ago. Food is great. Tommy and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. For a slice or any other Italian fare you can't go wrong with Nonno's

Ordered the Tuesday night special there this week and it was delicious. Will be my go to spot for pizza from now on.

I love Nonno's! I have never ordered anything from here that I do not like. My go to dish is tortellini with vodka sauce. Their vodka sauce is delicious and it is a nice mix with perfectly cooked fresh tortellini. The bread that they serve is always hot and sometimes they include garlic knots which is a nice treat. They also serve olives in a olive oil blend to dip the bread in. They have a great choice of pizza as well which is always tasty too. This place is casual and pretty small inside but I never have to wait to be seated. The workers are all very nice and attentive. The prices are very reasonable for the size of the dishes. They have a small lot in the back which is nice since parking is hard around this area.

My seven year old son just declared Tommy Anthony his new favorite person. The pizza and beer is delicious!

Wowowowowow. Just discovered this place. Happened to walk past Nonno's on a Tuesday night which is when they have a large pie deal. Tried it for the first time and it was so good! Would definitely come back again.

One of the best pizzerias in town. Tuesday special makes it even better! :)

Just ordered for the first time. This place is really good. The driver was really nice. The delivery time was earlier than expected. They got me the pizza delivered in 20 minutes. The pizza is very very good and it was hot when I got it. I've ordered from many places and when I get the pizza its usually warm and the delivery time is almost an hour. Very impressed and definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We regularly have pizza at Nonno's, it's our local spot. For me, the Grandma slice is the best I've ever had. My son prefers the plain slice and thinks it's the best, despite how many other pizzerias we've tried. The best surprise was having a sit down dinner: AMAZING! Please try the Veal topped with mozzarella, tomato, basil, and red onion salad, roasted potatoes and spinach. WOW. Also, ravioli was splendid, As were the desserts: cannoli and tiramisu. Fresh and made with care. Really nice to have such deliciousness in our neighborhood. Finally, the best friendly family-feeling service by all.

My boyfriend & I normally order from other local pizza shops, but damn! Their pizza is your IDEAL NYC pizza slice! Tasty, great flavor, perfect amount of cheese equals perfection! We ordered for delivery and within 25 mins the delivery guy was here! So pleased with their food! Will definitely order again, and will recommend to others!

The food is good. I ordered the chicken ceasar salad. it was ok. taste like a 711 salad with better quality dressing. The pizza is really good, good sauce. The pasta is also good, but i wouldn't order it again. I will only come back for the pizza. The price should be two dollar signs ($$). Not a bad choice for pizza.

They have the best chicken Marsala pizza. It's my jam. Owner is a really nice guy too!

I moved into the area a few years ago. I tried Rustica, Vito's, and this place. Nonno's is by far the best. Their squares are to die for. Great taste and friendly staff. I went to Rustica's (check out my review) Overpriced and terrible attitude from the workers. Nonno's is the kind of business you want to throw your money to support. Keep up the good work!

A nice little corner pizza place. Food's ok, and their sit-in area is nice and cozy. My only beef is their hours, they never seem to be open when I want to go. Prices are decent too.

I am a regular here, I order for delivery, and pick up. Especially on Sundays when you should have Italian. Well tonight, again, this is the second time, they made a mistake with my order????? Last time I couldn't believe the bill...over 60 dollars for two entrees and a salad. Tonight, almost 50 dollars! Really! Their prices have become ridiculous for the quality and food... Tonight they call back and say "we forgot to charge you for the caprese salad", really, how do you figure! They had the nerve to send the kid back to collect...a lot of nerve for sure. How do you make a mistake and expect the customer to pay for it? I am done with them...there are plenty of places that deliver pizza & Pasta...this ain't gourmet!

Five of us ate here last night. We go out most Sunday's and are always looking for new places to eat. We came here after seeing an ad and reading the Yelp reviews. We were very pleased with the food, service, prices, and Tommy the owner. He was very accommodating and went out of his way to be sure we were happy, coming to our table frequently to have friendly conversation. Small business restaurant owners should take a lesson from him on how to treat customers and ensure their return. We will return!!

I have been to Nonno's several times in the past few weeks and all the times have been great experiences. The place is usually crowded around lunch hours, however, that is usually a good sign. I haven't tried the pasta dishes yet, but the pizza is delicious. There are several pies usually made and the staff have no problem making custom orders. There are a few tables and air conditioning for those hot days. Parking is somewhat difficult, but there are a few meters in front and residential streets around the block.

Looking for the local delicious italian restaurant?? You can find it here at Nonno's!! The food is really good. I was brought here by a friend and it was delicious. I have been back here several times and I have not been disappointed. I love the chicken piccata with angel hair pasta. My friends had ordered the eggplant parm, penne vodka and fettucine alfredo and each of them raved about their meals. The prices are excellent. I have always found street parking. The place is small but I never had a problem getting a seat. They have the yummy bread basket and nice side salad. My niece came and they even had crayons for her. Overall, a must try and keep coming back. It's worth it!

For years I only got pizza from them, but I recently I tried some of their pasta dishes and had my socks knocked off!!! Their clam sauce is DA BOMB!!! All fresh ingredients with a little thickness so it clings to the spaghetti.. Everyone is friendly and attentive which is a plus!

I'm sorry for this placeholder review, but I wanted to remind myself to review this place before I forget. I've only been here once. I had some kind of pasta with spicy sausage, and it was pretty spicy! But it was delicious. The garlic bread that the give you is piping hot and...it's been awhile, so I don't remember all the details. Will give an update when I go back tomorrow!

2.5 years later and they're still pushing strong... still have the Tuesday pie special... special is only for pickup and cash only, but 10$ for a large pie = awesome deal. Friendly staff.

Excellent food and excellent service! The everything pizza is especially good! My husband and I like going to Nono's on the weekend for a nice sit-down dinner; the specials change often and are consistently good. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in eastern Queens!

  • Luis L.

Pizza was good but not great. I don't understand why there is only one $ when it should be $$$ ordered a margarita pie for it to be almost 25 bucks. Unheard of and a regular pie is cost us 16 without tip. I'm better off walking to those who don't deliver

I've been coming to Nonno's since I move to Hollis Hills in 2004. Since then I have come to know Tommy (the owner) well. He is always so friendly and inviting when I come in. The food is always very good and authentic. I love the farfalle with broccolli rabe and sausage!!! I cater from Nonno's quite often as well and we have never been dissapointed. The sauce is as close to home as I can find. Its not overly sweet or acidic. It's great to have a Tuesday night pizza night with Nonno's great special where you get a pie for $10. The staff is always friendly and they always make everything fresh for you and not just pull the food from the display. I highly recommend nonno's. Very good pizza made from a really good guy.

Nonno, I got a bone to pick with you... You close too early! I'm one of what you call a "late night eater". Can't you please stay open like vito does across the street from y'all? I surely would order a lot more. You won't be able to get me puff the phone if you do stay open -please and thank you

quality of pizza is just too inconsistent. I'm still here every 2-3 weeks for a tuesday night special pie but the crust is not always on point and that's important to me. 8/29/13: I'm going to re-update this and go back to 4 stars. They are just too friendly, and I always find myself going out of my way to get a meatball pie from Nonno's. Fresh out of the oven this is my favorite queens pizza, and you know what - it doesn't last very long once it's out of the oven and I get at it. I've been happy for the most part with the crust as of late.

  • W W.

Pizza's good most of the time. As others have stated, consistency is an issue. The Tuesday special pie is a great deal at $10 but they probably get a lot of orders and end up rushing through them. Their special pies are good but are thick crust. I prefer thin crust but once in a while I'll be in the mood for carbs and go to Nonno's for a buffalo chicken slice

As solid as they come for a small, neighborhood Italian pizza restaurant. Really good specialty slices. Piping hot pasta dishes. Everything is well seasoned and hearty. Especially love the soups and breads. The pizza is good, but best when it comes straight from the oven and is still cheesy. However, what makes Nonno's a cut above is its friendly, courteous and professional staff. They always check on you, are great with both individuals and families, and take any special requests you may have. So, give them a try. You'll want to come back. We certainly do!

Nonno's... i have try there dishes & pie before & it was ok, not good/great just ok.. so i always give a place an 2nd chance.well last nite10/26/12,at 5pm on a friday i placed an order & it just $ucked.. the pie was from the food display & they didnt even had any of there pinwheels that is on there menum and this is a friday nite leading into a weekend. that has happen to me for the 2nd time... there food is inconsisent, the cust on that pie was hard,old.. there isnt any Freshness at NONNO's.. they do more business on there specials/pricing...(imop,, thats not a good sign of a restaurant) so for all of the people who dine at nonno's & think its good food, keep going & just think what you are missing out on at OTHER FINER PLACES IN BAYSIDE/OAKLAND GARDENS....LIKE ALWAYS JUST MY OPN.

First time at Nonno .....they are very hospitable... I had the chicken parm and calamari. My sister wanted a specific slice and they accommodated her very well. They have a special on 18" pie to $8.00 on tuesdays....awesome....Definitely a place to visit..... Very attentive. Nephew loved his slice with extra cheese.

This is the best pizza in this area of Queens. I've never had a bad pie from them, although their sicilian can vary in quality from excellent to very good. You can sit down and eat or take it to go. On Tuesdays they have a large pie special for about 10 bucks, which is a good deal because they don't skimp on the special, but good luck getting them on the phone. Trying to pick up on Tuesday can be a hassle because of the long lines.

I am frequent take out and catering customer of Nonno's. Infact, im on a first name basis with the owner and some of the workers. I think their food is very good, and homesome. Every dish has a fresh and authentic taste! I find that there is never an issue with catering, but sometimes with take out some of the dishes can be a little bland (needing salt or pepper) or a little too heavy. I don't really order their pizza, but their grandma slices are delicious! Their regular cheese slice lacks something i can't point out, but the speciality slices are great. Nonno's overall is great but a little pricey on the regular dinner and take out end. You get what you pay for though.. As for the catering its very affordable, and i find that if you order from them frequently they usually are very hospitile throwing in extra salad, bread, and dressings (etc). I give Nonno's a 4 stars because its not perfect but its as close as it can get to in authentic italian "fast food".

Have eaten here many times. Food is great and excellent value. Great selection of pizza as well. But the other night I had the swordfish with garlic, spinach, tomatoes and wonderful little red potatoes. It was one of the best dishes I've had in a long time in any restaurant! It pushed me over the edge to write this review, which was a long time coming..

Went here tonight and had a amazing dinner!!!! The Chicken Parmigiana was incredible!! Most restaurants pound out the chicken till its flat and dry at Nonnos it thick and moist! The garlic bread is something to come for alone. We've tried a lot of the Italian restaurants in the area and this by far is one of the best! Tommy the owner and chef is pleasant and welcoming and cooks special requests. If you are looking for true home style Italian cooking this may be the best spot in queens and possible NY.
