One of those Diners that I've driven past numerous time but never ventured inside. Now I know why. Even though this is one of the most attractive Diners we have on the Island, the glitzy exterior & interior are about all that was good during our visit. Service was slow, eggs were overcooked to hell, request for well done home fries were simply ignored, and tasted bland - no seasoning on the potatoes at all. Wife's "Banana Stuffed" French Toast was a big joke - sliced bananas in between pre-cooked dried out french toast. Lousy food & service, wouldn't return.

I had a terrible experience here. Our waiter communicated to us through grunts and grumbles. Food was mediocre, pretty much the standard diner quality (a pretty small selection, honestly, although I came in at 10am). When it came time for the check, my party was charged for items that were supposed to come free with our meal. We also ordered a side of bacon which never came out, and were charged $6 for it. The waiter and management were unapologetic for the blatant mistakes. I will never be returning to this diner.

I've always been a fan of this diner, I used to stop in here quite a bit as I often found myself in the area in college (NYIT alum!). I started coming here again because they recently joined the American Airlines AAdvantage Dining Program. I've spoken on this before, but never gave an explanation. Synopsis: Register your debit/credit cards, visit an AAdvantage Dining location, and get 3 miles per dollar spent, which includes the tip and tax, or 5 miles per dollar spent once you reach VIP status. To reach VIP status, you need 12 dines in a calendar year. So by participating in the program, it's a good way to discover, or in this case rediscover cool restaurants, bars and lounges, and you can rack up quite a few extra frequent flier miles while you're at it. With that said, this diner was recently remodeled and it's very nice inside. Food is very good, service is very friendly, and it's always just a pleasant place for us to come and have breakfast when we're in the area. Do stop in, you're sure to be pleased!

Not my favorite diner, but not my least favorite either. They do a decent breakfast, lunch, and dinner - oh and dessert. I mostly go here because it's near where my bf lives.

They get 4 stars for having gluten-free options. It makes getting a diner meal so much easier for us! The food is diner food. Nothing exceptional and nothing horrible. Good omelette, good burgers, good sandwiches. Waitstaff are always friendly and nice. Wish they had more salad options.

As an ex-diner owner, I feel compelled to rebut the comments and reviews of people who trash diners -especially ones that I frequent and patronize. I always see the same complaint from people whenever reading diner reviews - that the prices are too high. People need to understand that the food costs for diners are the same for everyone else. I have seen people complain that $8.95 for a cheeseburger deluxe is too much money but they don't mind paying the same money for a microwaved burger with an small envelope of fries from a Burger King or McDonalds. I also need to point out to people that Burger King and McDonalds do not provide you with a burger medium or well done. At the same time, the same people will pay $14 and up for an inferior product from a flashy Gastropub in the city. Enough already!!! The prices are NOT high at all especially for the quality and quantity you receive. Went here yesterday with my parents and my 13 year old son. My son had a broiled Salmon ($18.95) and the portion was almost the size of my size 13 foot. This Salmon dinner also included 2 sides of vegetables and a bowl of soup. He left nothing on the plate and the vegetables were too much for him to finish. My parents both ordered chicken parm dinners. Both plates came out with two HUGE pieces of chicken. Looking at the portions (for $16.95), it would have been sufficient for them to order one and to share it. Knowing this would happen, I didn't order anything as I knew I would be picking off everyone else's plates because there was so much food. One had a bowl of Manhattan Clam chowder and the other a Caesar's Salad with their dinners. I tried the salad and it was great. The meals were served with fresh warm bread and the started us out with complimentary dishes of a chilled bow tie pasta salad. In the end, the chicken parms were too much so we took it home along with a whole cup of extra marinara sauce that they offered to give when packing it up to go. Those chicken parms are enough to make 3 sandwiches the next day. In the end, a meal for 4 people with enough food left over for lunch the next day - all for $61!!!!! So why are the prices too high??????? I give this place 3 stars because they still need to work a little bit on their staff. A diner menu is usually large and a bit complex so not many people are capable of working in one. I know that the labor pool for diner workers is thin and it shows at this place that they are trying to train new people instead of recycling old diner workers. Give it an extra star if you value parking, accessibility and extra cleanliness.

We got there and were seated quickly. The waiter took our order right when we sat down, but it took a while to get it- must've been the time we went. I ordered the Mediterranean omelette, which I loved. There's nothing better than that for me. I got a baked potato on the side, which was good, too. Mom got the turkey omelette, she just said it was good. James got Challah French toast, which he absolutely loved. He ate every last bite. I give this 4 stars not because of the food's taste, but because of the delay of getting food and the check.

Wow I am surprised I am giving a diner a 5 star review but this place well worth it. Came here on a Monday night with the family for dinner and it did not disapoint. It looks more like an upscale diner than your typical NY/NJ diner that you hit when you have no idea what your craving or when you have a hangover and need a large breakfast. The service here to start was great! Our waiter, young guy very attentive but can't give him too much credit where we were one of the two tables he had while we were eating haha The food though was amazing, and not just for a diner. Complimentary bruschetta first while you look at the extensive menu because that's what diners do. Then came good coleslaw, needed a little salt is all, and a pickle. Now for the actual food we ordered; We had a Greek salad that was so big we took half home and two roast beef and caramelized onion paninis that were delicious but again way to big not to take some leftovers home. The paninis came with a side of fries and everything is well priced. I would easily come back here again for another panini and some hot open faced sandwiches.

I have stopped in here twice for quick meals. The establishment is sparklingly clean. The service has been consistently prompt, the portions generous, and the food flavorful. The most recent visit, I enjoyed a crock of matzoh ball soup (the kind with one giant matzoh ball). Hit the spot. That was followed by a Greek omelet with spinach, feta, and tomato. It was enormous, fluffy, and delicious. There was so much food, I could barely touch the home fries or toast. My fellow diner got a grilled chicken sandwich. There were two massive breasts of freshly prepared chicken on a large sesame seed roll and a giant portion of fries. Here is my only *small* complaint. We ordered a chicken sandwich, a cup of soup, and an omelet. The total was over $40, with tip, north of $50. Seems a bit pricey for what was ordered. So, if you come to Old Westbury Diner, expect to get dependable fresh diner fare but don't be surprised if it comes with a side of sticker shock.

I ordered a Boss salad and Manhattan clam chowder for dinner . It was spacious and there were not many ppl on a Friday night Boss Salad - big portion but tasted Bland.. Manhattan clam chowder - fishy They gave free complimentary food which is good . But the Paid food wasn't worth the $ Other diner nearby is probably better

Clean, newly renovated, modern decor diner with polite hostesses, waiters and waitresses. Attentive service with a dedicated person checking in occasionally for tea or coffee refills. Our breakfast order took a little while to be served, but they were busy, so that was to be expected but once served it was well worth it. My order of Corned beef hash with crisp edges and chunks of real corned beef mixed in, very nicely done and tasty. Country omelet with sausage, peppers, onions and slices of fresh tomatoes served on top and home fries was a real hit. Their breakfast specials includes your main breakfast item with home fries, oj, coffee or tea and instead of toast you can choose to have one pancake...mmm, I love my sweet and savory together. I'd eat here again if in the area.

When this place was the Omega Diner//Seacrest my Father would eat here as much as he could. the food was always awesome. Not so much as the new place. I give this place 4 stars for the Service. The Wait/Floor Staff were on point and gave great Service. As for the kitchen......Ordered Beef Stew, Stuffed Clams, A Napoleon w Seafood Bisque. For the Prices they charge I was surprised to find the food to be what I would expect from a roadside truck stop on a very lonely highway. The soup was not so much Seafood as it was imitation crabmeat is a tomato-ish sauce. Imagine eating a can of Spaghetti-Os with imitation crabmeat broken up into it, sans the Os. Not horrible but not what one would call Seafood Bisque. The stuffed clams mushy and bland. I also would like some clam in the breading not imitation crabmeat. The Beef Stew. It came to as a pile of glob in the center of a pool of oil. I picked through it and found about 1/3 of it palatable. The waiter at the end came and asked if I wanted it wrapped to go, I said no. He asked why. I said look at it. He saw that it was mostly a bowl of reddish oil and grimaced. Picked it up and asked I wanted something else instead. The wait Staff should not have to make Mi Cupa for the kitchen like that. This place has the Service part down pat. They need to replace or retrain the kitchen. I said 4 stars for the Wait staff, -3 for the Kitchen.

If I were giving stars based on cleanliness and prompt courteous service it would be a 5, but let's face it, I stopped here because it's a diner. My girlfriend had an an onion, broccoli and cheese omelette with the usual side order of home fries. Not only were both bland and tasteless but the onions might as well have been mixed with the omelette whole as I've never seen cuts as large as this .... ever! I had the eggs Benedict with Canadian ham. Eggs were overlooked and the ham was like chewing on rubber ... all fat, no meat! Unless you enjoy bland low grade quality food, my suggestion is to avoid going here. At least until such time that the owners/management can put a cook in the kitchen that knows a thing or two about how to season food to make eating it enjoyable and satisfying I will avoid eating here and suggest you do the same. While I can't say it with 100% certainty, my girlfriend and I believe that the sickness she is currently experiencing is due to the food she ate here. Vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps.

As far as breakfast goes this place is pretty good. I am hoping the other low reviews are based on opening jitters (they have been open about six weeks). I had a pancake stack with bacon (you had to know that was coming) and my wife, French toast. Both were delicious and a healthy serving. Even given their proximity to the "gold coast" prices are pretty much standard diner fare. One complaint, OJ tastes like it's from concentrate. At the prices diner charge for this stuff nothing but "Pure Premium" should be served. I don't get this way often, but when I'm around I'll be sure to stop back.

I haven't been to the old Seacrest Diner that was originally here, but the interior of the new diner was fairly clean and updated, differing from the old-style all chrome metal looking and big booth seat style ambiance. Come to think of it, there still are booth seats and silver polished accents on the ceiling, but complimented with dark wooden furniture, making the place feel very bright and modernized. One thing that Old Westbury Diner has got going is that portions are large! I ordered the Farmers Omelette ($11.50) and my plate was overflowing with both the omelette and side of home fries. The eggs were cooked nicely, not too fluffy nor too dry. But overall, it was a typical omelette that you would come to expect at most diners. Decent, though nothing memorable except for the large portions. Served on the side are 2 slices of unbuttered toast. Looking at everyone else's dishes, they all seemed somewhat large. Most couldn't even finish their dishes without feeling like a glutton. Coffee will run you $1.95 with free refills. The next thing I noticed was that they cut corners on their condiments. Packages of butter and ketchup are from some no-name company, I believe locally packaged from some factory in New Jersey. Don't expect your usual Heinz ketchup, Land o Lakes butter, or Kraft/Smucker spreads. Our waitress was polite for the most part. After serving all 6 adults, we kindly let her know that one dish was missing. She forgot to put in the order for one of the little 5 year olds, which we simply asked for a shelled pasta with tomato sauce served on the side. Serving diners all day, you should know that most would want to try and feed their children first. It took another 15 minutes or so to come out, by which we were probably halfway done with our meals, before she served up spaghetti noodles with tomato sauce drowned on top of the pasta. She did apologize for forgetting about the dish, but in no way did she acknowledge that it took a long time or realizing that she served us the wrong dish. Rather than make matters worse, we just smiled and accepted the dish so we wouldn't have to wait another 15 minutes to simply boil some pasta and warm up some tomato sauce on the side. She rarely came by to check up on us and I'd have to say the busboys were much more attentive, constantly refilling our cups of coffee and clearing dishes promptly. Overall, if you're looking to be a glutton, Old Westbury Diner may be the place for you with their oversized portions. But that is probably all they have going for them. Their food was on par with your standard diner, but service was lacking. Prices were high as well. I would have preferred normal-sized portions for normal prices. Would I come back? Probably not. If you need to put that in perspective, you can get one of several Frittatas (which is very similar to an omelette) at Thomas's Ham & Eggery on Old Country Old for approximately $8.00. Not only are portions comparable but they are probably one of the all-time favorites for diners in Long Island. The long lines and owner who comes out to greet all his customers speak for themselves.

This is my favorite diner. Great menu and excellent service. If you listen carefully they play pop hits from the70's as background music. A well run family business and very clean. Easy to get to from the parkway.

Great friendly service but terrible food. I had a tuna melt, the bread wasn't even warm and the tuna was dry with too much celery. My husband had a gyro. The meat was overcooked. The gyro was just meat and a pita without any lettuce, onion etc... We definitely won't be going back there again.

My friends and I ordered burgers and they were by far the driest, least flavored and bland burgers we've ever had. The French fries that came with them were soggy, cold and lacked any flavor as well. On top of the terrible food, the service was much worse. Their attitude was unwelcoming and distasteful from not even the staff, but the manager. After countless visits and splitting bills, he terribly lies and says "Not in my restaurant." And when we looked at him confused he tried to make up excuses saying he doesn't do it on weekends or for take-outs, even though we have done so many times before, while leaving a tip even though we didn't done in. If we weren't hungry we would have just got up and left, and honestly after eating the food, I regret having not. I would rather drive further to the Carl Place Diner or the Broadway Diner then ever return back. We use to be loyal customers, but after this experience we refuse to do business with them ever again.

Drove by this restaurant many times and it always seemed crowded, so I figured--what the hey? After dining here, I can say with certitude that the local crowd needs to get out more. Clean restaurant with decent eats, but very slow service. That's pretty much it. Average diner food, nothing special, and somewhat pricey. No bread offered. We were seated promptly, but it took 10 minutes before our order was taken, and another 30 before it was served. The waiter couldn't bring out a pickle and coleslaw for 30 minutes? I doubt I will be returning here. The Williston Park Town House Diner offers 10% off coupons in newspapers and fresh bread on the table before orders are taken. Seems like a more reasonable dining option than this place.

Went to the old westbury Diner over the weekend.. First of all the wait staff was very accommodating and very polite! We def understand that it's a new place and they still have to iron out some kinks!! The food was great! And the owner mr. Alex came around to all tables to greet us!

Just got back from brunch. Food is decent and the place is nicely decorated. What I had issue with was the serve time: We sat down about 3 minutes after the party before us. We then waited for at least 8 minutes before my wife asked me to get someone to order. During this time, that party in front of us was not only served with coffee (something within the first 3 minutes your server will always ask in a NY diner), they also got their salad and other dishes. I ended up asking a server who wasn't serving us that we were ready to order. After he said just a few seconds he went off to the deep end and we waited another few minutes before our server (whom I didn't even see at all during the entire time waiting) showed up and asked if we were ready. Kudos to him, his attitude was professional and friendly. But the initial wait after we sat just put a sour taste in my mouth. And the bus boy only came over once to offer coffee refill during the hour plus period when we were there. I personally won't go back again. But it could just be my luck that I was caught in a busy time and my table was forgotten. Then again, when you are in a table with two toddlers, every minute counts. I guess the vibe of your neighborhood diner did not transcend over this afternoon.

I see this diner paid Yelp to remove my review...classically typical dishonesty. I went as soon as this place opened and didn't bother even eating here, a humongous bug was crawling across the ceiling so we walked out. Staff was rude and knowledgable about nothing off the menu from the 5 minutes we spent there.

Service was great, decor very nice, place was very clean.....food horrible! Ordered the chicken scampi....bland!! The worst scampi I've ever had! Defiantly will not be back! FYI owner is the same owner as the towne house diner on hillside ave

This place just wasn't that good. I went here with a friend wanting to try out the new place. I remember it used to be the Seacrest Diner. The inside was new and nice but the food wasnt. The food was underwelming and not tasteful. All the waiters were sitting at the bar in the back right behind me which was a kind of akward. It was bland, basic, and not worth the price. Try the Thomas Diner or Landmark Diner instead. Even Carle Place is better.

I am a huge fan of the Williston Park Diner on Hillside Ave. The same owners now operate the Old Westbury Diner. This is the former Seacrest Diner for those who remember it. The remodel is beautiful and the space is clean and inviting. But thats about all the good I can say. I have now given this diner 3 attempts. I am a loyal long time customer of the Williston Park Diner and for a family that runs and operates such a successful diner it is very surprising that the Old Westbury Diner falls flat. Diner food is typically standard with little differentiation. I can honestly say the food here is not good. The food at Williston Park Diner or the newer Park City Diner is much better. The most disappointing miss for the Old Westbury Diner is their service. It is simply sub par and unacceptable. As others seem to be experiencing the wait to get the food is absurdly long. This is not a fine dining restaurant. It should not take over an hour for 2 kids order of chicken fingers and an egg white omelet. I received 1 glass of water and the 1 diet coke I ordered. Was never asked if I needed a refill in the over hour wait we had. When I did ask for a water to wash the sub par food I was eating down while I ate it never came (I asked 3 separate times). In all honestly I hope they succeed as the family is extremely nice and it would appear they have a significant investment in this establishment. My fear is that they will forget about their original Williston Park Diner and focus all their attention on the new digs. But i can speak for those of us who have given it a chance...its just not good and I will be returning to alternating between the Willie P Diner and Park City. Extremely disappointed...

Great atmosphere and staff. Had the create your own pasta which offers different pasta types, sauces, veggies, proteins and cheeses. Also shared the salmon. It is important to note that for years people have offered me salmon but I never liked the smell. But when my mom got salmon whatever they grilled and seasoned it with was amazing and the fish was not too fishy. Delicious!! The menu has a ton of variety without being overwhelming, the portions are great, booth was comfy, and everything was clean with nice decor. And extra bonus was the bruschetta cracker at the start instead of bread and butter (if bruschetta is not your thing i am sure they would give you bread) - and they seem to be accommodating in general which is a huge plus. We spoke for an hour after eating and felt very comfortable too. Parking and location is great as well. Will for sure be there again soon.

I have been here a few times for breakfast and just recently for dinner. Each time I have been impressed with how quickly I am seated and then greeted by a server, who is always friendly. The place is cleaner than most restaurants in the area. As for the food, I get eggs over easy with Rye toast and hash browns. Perhaps the hash browns are a bit bland, but that is what salt, pepper, ketchup and tabasco are for. Better to be under seasoned than over. For my recent dinner, I ordered the matzoh ball soup and a cheeseburger. The soup is cut above most diners matzoh ball soup as it comes loaded with cut up celery and carrots in a very nice bowl. The onion rings that came with the burger were very good and the burger itself, despite being pretty well flattened was tasty and juicy. And they served the burger with a generous amount of cole slaw and a pasta salad. All for $18 with tax, but before tip. I plan on going back.

A very decent diner... Located on the busy Glen Cove Road, this awesome diner serves up great food with a smile. The decor is very nice for a diner, due to new renovations. Very roomy, with a very nice ambiance. The menu is large, typical diner fare with some added bonuses that make everyone happy. Prices are quite expensive, but they have to make the revenue to pay off the renovation costs and for the numerous employees to walk out satisfied. Plus, the food makes up for any holes burnt into your wallet. Service is great, not the fastest, but friendly and passionate about keeping the reputation of the place high. For starters, the matzoh soup here is exceptional, compared to other competing diners. Their Greek salad is also really good, with a DIY dressing. Fresh olives, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, and a handful of little feta cheese pieces. For entrees, try the open turkey plate, their burgers, and their beef gyro. Overall, quality food at ok prices! Successful diner!

Great Food - same owners of Williston Town house for the past year and doing a great job - OWD is a big place with plenty of seating. Buffy and Spiro are the owners, very attentive to their customers - insist on maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen and we appreciate that very much. Menu is diverse but I love their Burgers and Pork Chops. Prices are reasonable for a very expensive neighborhood and clientele.

Worst service in the world. I went there for a simple take out order and was told that I could not split the bill on weekends. The host was extremely rude and made us wait in the cold. After receiving the food, the burgers were clearly frozen and re-heated. They were all dry and burnt. The fries were soggy and very cold. Drive up the road to Carle Place much better service and food, avoid if you can.

Just had dinner here tonight with my husband. Tasteless and close to inedible is the best way to describe the food. The waitress never stopped back to check on how we were doing or to inquire why our places remained nearly full. When she did come back, it was to give us the check.. no offers of refills on drinks or dessert. I am guessing she knew how we felt and figured why bother pushing her luck by speaking to us? Very disappointing and we will never go back!

I met four friends for lunch and we had a delightful meal. The new decor is attractive and the rooms are bright and sun-filled. It was a bit crowded, so it took a while for our food to arrive, but when it did, it was well worth the wait. The salads were fresh and tasty. Two of us had omelets that were perfectly prepared. We will definitely all be returning to this new addition to the dining scene on Long Island.

I've been going to the Sea Crest Diner since H.S, so with that memory, my family and I went to check out the new Old Westbury diner. The new decor is welcoming and nice but the food was terrible. Nothing compared to the old Sea Crest Diner. The waitress was nasty. We went there on Memorial Day and I don't know how a simple 3 people breakfast (Cost $42 with coffee & juice?) can take almost 45 minutes to cook. When we asked the waitress, "when is our food coming out?" She said, "Everyones waiting." What da? She could have apologized for the the wait but neither the waitress nor the manager apologized. The only good thing with this Diner was the coffee and that's about it. I am sad that Sea Crest is no longer there and I will not be coming back to this Diner ever. If you want a Diner in this area, I suggest the Mineola Diner (very small, but really clean, friendly and good food for take out) or Magestic Diner. DO NOT GO HERE and waist your time and money.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large.
