Best sushi, service, and atmosphere. My boyfriend, family, and I go every other week for years and can't praise it enough. The waitress knows our orders and if my boyfriend and I go without my parents she asks how they are and why they aren't there! Go there! You'll love it and I couldn't recommend it more.

Japanes restaurants, like Italian restaurants on Long Island are a dime a dozen. There are so many out there that they really have to have either a special dish or do something that makes them really stand out. Izumi has that dish. It's called a Fantastic Roll and the best thing about this is that you don't dip it typically in wasabi & soy sauce...they provide you with a sauce in a small shot glass that you put on each piece. Izumi is located in a non-descript strip mall, one of many out on LI. It's never crowded so even on a Sat nite you can always get a table. You can really taste the freshness of the seafood and the wait staff is very attentive and helpful. My wife & I usually order 2 speciality rolls and 3 regular rolls and we are quite stuffed afterwards. Their Godzilla & Crystal rolls are huge and like several other rolls don't require the typical dipping sauce. My son on the other hand loves their min wonton soup. You can taste chinese sausage in each bite...something that seems lacking in many other restaurants wonton soups. So, when you're in the area of the old Grumman factory...head south on 107 to where it splits into Hicksville Rd on the left and Wantagh Ave on the right. Between these two roads is where you'll find Izumi.

Great, fresh sushi. Cheap in cost, terrific in presentation and taste. I usually get it take-out, and I have always gotten exactly what I've ordered. Tokyo roll, AAC roll (brown rice), Chicken Tempura roll, spring rolls, edamame are stand-outs. It's in a terrible strip mall, please don't judge the restaurants by the company it keeps.

After trying to eat at Miyako down the road (which was WAY too noisy), we came to Izumi for dinner. My boyfriend was STARVING so he started ordering appetizers as soon as he got the chance. We ordered rock tempura shrimp, fried tofu, and some kind of tuna tortilla thing. They were all good. I ordered a spicy scallop roll and he got an assorted sushi plate and also a side of the ten ingredient fried rice. My scallop roll tasted okay, it kind of looked like it was falling apart though. The rice is also good. For dessert we shared the fried banana with red bean ice cream. The food is good here, but I do prefer Hama Sushi and Kumo Sushi over this place. Also, our drinks tasted funny - I got a diet coke and he got an iced tea which were from tap. Luckily we asked the waitress if they had canned drinks and they did so it was all good!

This place can do no wrong. From the hot towel to the incredibly fresh fish to their fantastic cooked food Izumi has far beyond exceeded perfection. The appetizers are unique and so delicious you never want it to end. The combinations of flavors in the rolls are something to behold.

This is my go to sushi place whenever I am in the area. I always do take out but really want to try eating there as well. I want to order so much every time I go bc there are so many delicious rolls to pick from. I wish that one night a week they would offer half price or all you can eat rolls. Oh, and I love their mango roll!

Keep it short and simple. The sushi was good!! :) But the day we went the AC was broken. :( It was very warm and humid in there. Everyone that was there broke out in sweats! They were very apologetic about it but It was out of their control so i didnt hold it against them. The whole time I was eating I couldn't help but think about how long I have from receiving the sushi to how fast I could eat it without the sushi getting all warm and gross. Id definitely go back to give it another try. Hopefully next time the AC will be working!

Never dined in I always get take out but everything I have tried has been superb. I highly recommend the kamikaze roll and mini wonton soup. All their rolls are delicious that I've tried, unique and perfect combinations.

Best sushi in long Island. Great variety-many rolls to choose from. Some rolls have mango in them which Im a fan of. Love thier sauces. We had Charlies angel roll, Zing Roll, mango roll, bethpage roll and fantastic roll. They were all unbelievably fresh and tasty! We also had mini wonton soup and miso soup and they have fried cheesecake! The servers were so attentive and friendly. Sad to see the place dead on a Friday night. They lost a star bc some of the rolls fell apart after picking it up with the chop stick. Thats my biggest petpeeve. That's like an italian restaurant serving burnt bread. Also thier prices are steep. All of the special rolls were priced at $13 or above for simple combinations. For sushi pieces you only get one per order for $4 per piece. Specialty cocktails were $10+ too. When I go for sushi I tend to order many things to share for the table. My tab ran $150 for 3 ppl. All worth it though.

This is my favorite sushi place. We have tried other local places but nothing stands up to Izumi! The sushi is always fresh. The special rolls are delicious not to mention the 12 ingredient fried rice. We have a 2 year old so we usually get take out and they never disappoint. They are friendly on the phone and prompt for delivery. I Highly reccomend Izumi.

I was pleasantly surprised with Izumi. The decor does not match the outside at all. Beautiful Bar with a lot of space in the back. My friend and I came across it after trying to eat at Pinatas down the road but sadly it was closed. Though they were closing in 45 minutes, we were welcomed with warm smiles. We ordered a bottle of Sake (listed at $8 but we got charged $13!! Lost one star right there), Miso Soup, Steamed Wasabi Shumai (I freaked out with excitement that they had them), Hot California roll and a Spicy tuna roll. I appreciated the food but I wish the Wasabi Shumai wasn't as mild. The wrapper was very thin so next time I will definitely ask them to go nuts.

Best sushi I have ever had...hands down. This restaurant has an impressive menu, stocked with tons of special rolls. Check out the board in the front of the restaurant, too...there is an additional list of specials that seems to change every so often. I would definitely recommend the salmon skin seaweed salad to start. I can't even recommend a roll because they are all sooo good! The staff is so so sooo sweet! They have a lot of good sake choices, too ; )

Food was great Would have been 4 stars. The service was AWFUL. Called in an order. Was told 20 minutes. Got there about 20 minute later. It will be right out. 25 minutes, Almost ready. 35 minutes, very soon. I get up at 45 minutes and I asked what was going on. They ran over to the sushi chef and my order was done a minute later. We dropped 95 bucks for the food. It doesn't take 45 minutes to make stuff that isn't even COOKED. I told the staff that it was unacceptable for the wait to be 45 minutes when I was told 20. They made no attempt to make it right. Dint whack something off the bill, didn't even throw me a free can of soda. Zip, zilch Nada. Food was good but there are a lot of really good sushi joints around here. We wont be going back, I'd recommended you didn't either.

Now that I'm obsessed with sushi and crave it on a regular basis, I can be even more excited about this place. I've been once before when I wasn't crazy about sushi and actually really enjoyed it, which already says enough. This time I was able to really appreciate it. I enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar and watching the sushi chefs create these plates that not only looked amazingly delicious but were artistically beautiful. From shredded crab meat that looked like spaghetti to a mini light that was hidden in between the garnishes, I was so intrigued. Our curiosity must've been all over our faces because the sushi chef offered us a sample of one his creations, which was really tasty. I really liked the Snow Beauty Roll, which was dressed with a sweet sauce and also adorned with a thin slice of jalapeno on top. I love a sweet and spicy combo, and it was the perfect mix. The Amazing Tuna Roll was good, but compared to how much I enjoyed the other one, I was less excited about it. I can add Sapporo to the growing list of beer that I've tried and the even shorter list of beer that I actually like. I already look forward to the next time.

I think I have found my little Japanese Wonder of the World - IZUMI!! I cannot get enough of this Restaurant!! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. You actually find yourself happy to be eating there. I love the Spring Rolls. It's a combination of Vegetables and Baby Shrimp. The taste is unique and their sauce go's perfectly with it. A little sweet with the perfect zing. Miso soup - excellent, even the salad was good. The dressing I haven't been able to figure out yet, possibly ginger but it doesn't matter - also very good. OK, Main Dishes. I can rave about everything: Thai Spicy Chicken, Malaysian Curry Chicken, anything Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, etc. etc. All so flavorful and delicious. I haven't found better Sushi anywhere - very fresh and there is an extensive menu to choose from. I've had too much to list. The presentation and quality of their dishes just go to show how much they really care and are proud of their creations. They want to see you come back. If you are in the mood for superb Japanese food, don't miss going to Izumi!!

This spot has quality sushi and amazing raw oysters on the half shell. I'm surprised it doesn't get more business considering its good quality. The amazing tuna roll, scallop sashimi, oysters, and fried bananas are amazing special and menu items to name a few.

Thank you Yelp for helping me find a great little lunch spot on my way home. I was surprised by the quality and size of the chirashi. Staff was friendly and courteous. If I'm heading down the 110 again and it's eating time I'll be in again for sure.

After this place had just opened, I think my lunch crew went there once or twice a week for a few months. We were definitely regulars there for lunch, as the owners knew us by name. However that came with a downside, since the other customers would often get more attention than us, and we'd be the first customers there and always get our food dead last, after everyone else had already eaten and left. We decided to give this restaurant a break, but I think it's time to come back and see how it is. I hope the owners are doing well.

Izumi is a surprising little place in Bethpage. Surprising because of the decor, which lends itself more to an upscale sushi place in Manhattan and also surprising because of the quality and creativity of their menu. I definitely recommend this place!!

great sushi and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Nice little surprise in bethpage, long island of all places. all other surrounding sushi places are both more expensive, and don't have better sushi.
