The history on the Yardville Inn menu says that Wild Bill Hickok and Annie Oakley stopped in regularly while on their Wild West Tours, and held shooting contests with the locals out in the back field. That's pretty cool, and easily imagined when sitting at the square bar and the heavy dark wood walls surround you. The place is def legit. There is a home crowd here even at lunch. I felt like the new kid on the block walking in for the first time the other day. Every eyeball followed me to the stool, although they never stopped talking among themselves. There was a audible gasp when I declined to order anything alcoholic with lunch, but a redeeming sigh when I went with the Pierogies as a light bite. The doughy pockets were pretty good with a pleasantly garlic based butter sauce that also held onion and parsley. I learned that they were not house made, but the taste was fine. The bartender/server was pleasant and welcoming to a stranger. She suggested I try some of the in house plates on my next visit. The other customers chimed in seconding her suggestion. As the food tasted and looked good all around the bar, and the other folks seemed genuinely interested in my satisfaction, not to mention that the prices are quite low, I will certainly return to find out if they are right.

To the Chef: the food is fantastic and delicious! I give the food 5 stars. However, the service is the worst so I can't do that! Service: we had a large party, set up in room upstairs. When we arrived we could not use the room because waitress said it was "too cold". It was fine. Then, we had 2 people cancel. Called 6 hours before and were told "too bad" we would be charged. No flexibility. The woman who served us was so rude, surly and outright rude. I had you g children who use their "pleases" and "thank yous." She never acknowledged them. It was NOT busy, we were the ONLY party in the restaurant. My 4 year old asked me "why is she so angry, Mommy?" Whenever you would speak to her she did not even acknowledge you, she never made eye contact and never answered you. So you never knew if she heard you. JUST OBNOXIOUS. WORST SERVICE EVER. Unfortunately, there was a 20% tip included - she barely deserved a dime. RECOMMEND TAKE-Out so you get the delicious food, but don't have to deal with staff.

I can't believe we've lived a couple miles from here for four years and hadn't tried this place before. This Is great tavern food. We shared an order of hot wings that were some of the best we've had since moving to Jersey. The fettuccini was a huge serving and, while not the best I've ever had, (that honour still goes to a small restaurant in Baytown, Texas, believe it or not) it was very good. The burger my husband had also did not disappoint our critical taste. Not only are we planning to come back, we'll be adding the Yardville Inn to our list of recommendations.

Great place to have a cozy inexpensive dinner. Its the place close to home that is no fuse but better then a pizza place. Food is pretty good. check it out worth it! Service was good too.

If you are looking for: -a great variety of wine, beer, liquor (at the bar and for sale in the extensive wine and spirits store attached to the establishment) -velvety and home made brandy cream sauce -delectable and home made vodka and alfredo sauces -tender veal dishes -cheap drink specials -homemade tiramisu -the soon to be famous "Spedini( fresh mozzarella balls, flash fried with herbs and spices, and covered in the chef's delicious vodka sauce" then, you must visit Yardville Inn, Wine, Spirits, Tavern & Grill. I absolutely love the history of this restaurant, the attentive staff, the FOOD, and let's not forget his home made soups (french onion, chicken pot pie, egg drop spinach, broccoli/cheddar, and split pea). The Sabu Panini is the most delicious panini that I have ever experienced, consisting of: Fresh basil, garlic, smoked turkey, onions, spinach, cheddar/american cheeses, bacon, with chili mayo!!

I had the most awkward and weird dining experience here. Menus were taken away from us before we ordered our entrees and we were left to order from memory. The sodas were disgusting (unclean lines?), questionable quality of food, credit card machines were down and the waiter asked me to write my card number on a piece of paper. Overall poor dining experience. I don't plan on returning.

Central Jersey has several of these old stage coach stops that have somehow survived for in excess of 200 years to remain oases of hospitality, dining and enjoying a stein of ale (or other adult beverage). The Yardville is one of those ancient inns. The 'history' posted by the business also appears on the menu. It's cool to imagine that William 'Buffalo Bill' Cody and his traveling companion, Annie Oakley, actually sat at a table right where you are, the smell of gunpowder still thick in the air from one of their shooting exhibitions, tossing back a few sasparillas and whiskeys. I had stopped in with Keith and Emily but we all kept our weapons holstered as a shooting exhibition outside the tavern would most likely not be appreciated in these times of ours. We were greeted warmly by the hostess on a Friday night that saw the bar packed two deep. The inn's decor is rustic as you might expect, with dark woods used for the walls and floor. The service was excellent but alas the food was not its equal. Both Emily and I had the Fish and Chips Fridays (that's what the dish is called even on Mondays) and Keith had the Shrimp Scampi. Sorry to say the F & C was among the worst I've had. The coating was not crisp and the fish was chewy. Oh well, Keith said his Scampi was pretty good. I'm not against going again and trying something different because I really like these old inns and I want to like this one. The service and staff were excellent and the menu is varied and the price is right.

Only been here 3 times but each time I am amazed at the fresh, quality ingredients they use. The scallops wrapped in bacon appetizer was the best I have ever had. The French onion soup was perfect. Great prices, clean, comfortable dining room and friendly service. I love this place!

WORST SERVICE EVER! I asked the server named Frankie what kind of IPAs they had to drink. She had no idea what an IPA was and This lady works at a bar!!! Had to explain that it was a style of beer, several times. Only to find out they only had one IPA, Sierra Nevada. Bad selection. The elderly server then proceeded to screw up my order and my dates order as well. Brought us the wrong soups and entrees. Didn't not bring ketchup for 20 mins. My dates food was not hot by then. Just a disaster. Direct quote from the waitress- "if you need anything, just throw something at me". I should not have to throw something to get the attention of my server. I heard they have good food here but I did not like my meal. All around Terrible experience. NEVER AGAIN.

Well, I was skeptical after reading all the negative comments about going but I figure I try. FOOD WAS AMAZING! Service... Was overall great! Now, I did go late Friday night and there were about four tables seated. I have no complaints with the service. I was nice to them, they were nice to me. I would definately go back.

I have to say after reading the reviews I was nervous to come here based on the service reviews however, we were extremely satisfied. We were seated promptly, everyone was extremely accommodating to our year old daughter and service by Frankie was excellent!!!! We started with the spidini appetizer and it was yummy, I couldn't stop dipping the bread in the sauce. My husband got the chicken with crab meat and asparagus over linguini and it was delicious. I got the ny strip with brandy cream sauce and t was cooked to perfection, even the vegetables were perfect. The prices were right up our alley as well! We will most certainly be back!!! Thanks for a fabulous meal.

Dinner was delicious! The fireplace made for the perfect atmosphere. Cheese bread was nice with special garlic dipping sauce. The house salad dressing was a nice change from the normal balsamic. Staff was pleasant and very attentive.

So the manager felt the need to message me privately and tell me, quite obnoxiously, how "eloquent" my "shit service" comment was. Well, sweetheart, if the shoe fits... Its only about as eloquent as adding "PLEASE READ OUR FILTERED REVIEWS!!!" to the name of your business, which Kenneth D. and myself handled promptly. If I can say one positive thing about Yardville Inn, its that their "shit service" earned me a cool new Yelp buddy. So thanks!

Service was horific. Michelle, our waitress, was nasty and bit**y. If other people hadn't stepped in to clear our plates, I would have left right away and without a tip. She has been mean and sullen ever since I started going there; even at the bar, when she didn't serve me. The food is good, but her attitude ruins it for me.

While simply trying to have a good time with three friends, the manager unannounced, came to our table and hovered over us until one of us acknowledged her. When we did she said we were being too loud and suggested there was a separate room if we wanted to continue to be loud. When we were finished with dinner, our waitress brought our check without ever asking us if we wanted coffee (which we did) or dessert. Clearly they were trying to get us out. This was a Saturday night at 8pm, it wasn't the middle of the day, we weren't being "loud" we weren't offending anyone, we were just trying to enjoy ourselves. The food has always been good, but we were treated very rudely. We will definitely be taking our business elsewhere for our next night out.

I finally decided to give this place another chance and called to place a take out order. I was kindly told by someone that the kitchen is not open on Mondays. Wait....what? No indication of this on their website at all! He then explained he is a bartender and the bar is open, but the restaurant isn't because there is no kitchen service. I was baffled, confused....what type of baloney is this? The bartender was kind enough to ask me if it wasn't anything too much he could make it for me but it will take some time since he is handling the bar himself. I ordered some wings and he said he would make them for me, but there is no such thing as"mild sauce". But it is on their menu.......mild, bbq and hot. So now i am completely confused. The bartender said he knows but the mild really doesn't exist and he could mix the hot and bbq to make a mild sauce for me. So i accepted and i picked up my order, tipped the bartender since he was nice enough to make me the wings himself and went on my merry way. Bbq and hot sauce does not make mild sauce.....but i understand he was trying to make do. WHO DOES NOT HAVE BUFFALO WING SAUCE?! Makes no sense. Second time i have gone here and they do not have what they advertise on their menu. Yardville Inn is lucky to have that nice bartender working there. I will never go back because even over a year later they still don't have their stuff together.

Diamond in the rough! Something for everyone! Liquor store has great selection and prices! Bar has many wide-screen TVs & a good group of regulars! And here's the wonderful surprise: Very few restaurants in Central NJ have better food! From Cheese Steaks to fine dine steaks to great seafood to an incredible Rigatoni Vodka - you will not be disappointed! I saw one review about service not being great - Not only have I never had bad service, the wait staff and bartenders are efficient and friendly!

The hostess, Fran, was quite friendly on the phone but not so when we arrived....We were greeted by our waitress, Michelle, who took our order quickly. She proceeded to be absent during our entire meal ( 11/2 hrs) unlike her coworkers who tended to our table and our needs..The food was good, except for the bread which would have been great to sop up some good flavors.DON'T bother filling out the comment card..because MICHELLE threw ours in the trash in front of us!......So...if you decide to dine here, ask for anyone BUT Michelle....bty we are in the food and service business!
