I was first introduced to this place over a decade ago when it was called "Fat Pat's" (I still get that confused). It's my favorite pizza "joint" in Lincoln, and probably in all of Nebraska so far. I always get the combo when I come here. It definitely has a "hole in the wall" feel with the atmosphere of an old neighborhood bar on the inside. Definitely worth a try if you like pizza, though I've never tried one of their sandwiches before.

This is my favorite pizza place in town. I stopped in after hearing about this legendary pizza on Tues night. I was greeted with a smile and ordered a large Big Sal- it was at my table and in my mouth in 15 min. The flavor exploded in my mouth- wow. This is a must have! Needless to say I finished 50% and took the rest of it home! I am please to report that the pizza tasted just as fresh the next AM. I can't wait to go back!

The mozzarella sticks kinda sucked (why it gets 4 stars instead of five) but the pizza was fantastic.

Great pizza! Good specials! I would pass on the garlic rolls, stick with the tasty pizza. The staff is very friendly. You get a small town feeling in the city. We will be back!

I'll tell you what, I love me some Big Sals pizza. We came down for a football game because what else is there to do in NEB? Deciding to eat at this 'dive' pizza place, turns out, I'd love to go back. This is my kind of place. It wasn't overran with college students looking for a cheap beer, but rather a few families and some respectful college students. The regulars there helped us decide what pizza to get and even made us feel very welcome to be to 'their' place. One of the three pizzas we ordered took a little longer than normal. Not only did the owner of the place stop by our table and take it off our order (which we didn't even complain about or really even noticed) but he also spent some time to get to know us, welcome us and really looked like he took pride in running his place correctly. Would i return? Hell yes! Only if I'm stuck in NEB over night...

Their pizza is the best in town and their Friday and Saturday deals can't be beat. Never had a bad pizza here, ever. Highly recommended.

Cool dive bar. Just off the corner of 27th and vine. It's right by my house so sometimes we'll just walk on over with a group of people, order a pitcher and a pizza for $15, which by the way their Chix Mesquite pizza is kick ass, play some pool, Thursday nights they karaoke [which is always fun] it seems like an old guy's bar, but being in college we love going there. Try it out, you'll understand their saying - "Good pizza, good beer."

I too had a GroupOn coupon that got me into Sal's. The drunk lady leaving as I went in might have been a clue of what I would find. My waitress was nice and came back often to check how things were going. Had the big Hawaiian pizza. I just found it "OK" but not one that I would try again. I guess I expected more from a place that is Italian. The bathroom was smelly and could have been cleaned better. Mainly older working class males. Reading other reviews make me think I must be a little snobby on how I see the place. It's just not a place I would hang out in.

Heard their pizza was good, so I stopped there one weekday afternoon to try it. The bartender/waiter came over and took my order right away ( small pizza). They were not busy-only one other table was full. After waiting a half hour, the bartender/waiter came over and said, "My bad. I forgot to turn your order in. Can I get you some garlic rolls while you wait?" The whole time I was there he was more interested in talking to a couple of guys at the bar than doing his job. Finally got my pizza after 25 more minutes. Yes, I should have left after a half hour, but, when i got the pizza it was very good. Pizza, good- service, terrible.

Another outstanding pizza place. It is across town from my house, but I make a special trip for this pizza. It is phenomenal! The crust is one of the best in town! Making my mouth water just thinking about it.
