This is the BEST place in Minot by far. Fabulous soups, fresh and flavorful salads, craft quality cocktails and great food. Service is always excellent. The caprese salad is our favorite. The mozzarella cheese they use is top quality and although the tomatoes aren't always the best you have to cut a bit of slack in the winters of North Dakota. Their daily fish specials are amazing taking into account those same winters. They have the fish flown in fresh several times a week and it's always well prepared. We love the steaks and prime rib as well. I'm a picky dessert person especially when it comes to creme brûlée so it's a big deal for me to say this - theirs is outstanding. Ambiance is fantastic. You won't be disappointed.

Couldn't be seated because apparently the restaurant was full for the night at 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. Although, there were empty tables and the patrons behind us didn't have a problem getting a table. Atmosphere is nice. Food smelled nice from the hostess counter.

I like this place and have been here quite a few times since opening but several things frustrate me into only giving the three stars. The food is solid although I think the menu could use some switch up, if you go enough there really isn't anything new. Being a foodie type person and trying things all over the world I'd give the food a decent 7 out of 10 it won't always wow you but will never disappoint, as well as not too far outside the box but solid and would give food 4 stars. Staff is usually great as well I would give them 5 stars. My biggest frustration is the hours, seriously! I get it I'm a late eater, I'd prefer to eat around the 9-10 pm range but how does a place that only opens at 5 pm which no one eats at has its kitchen closed at 9:15 pm on a Saturday??? And this has happened multiple times even so in not taking a reservation in which I had 8 people with me. Hey 10 north Main does well and doesn't need my help but if you are going to serve for three hours just say so that way ya don't ruin other people's plans in expecting a "high end" restaurant to be open more than 3 hours. The sun isn't even down in Minot at 9:15 pm FFS! So on that they get one star for a generous 3 star average

Professionalism at the bar could use a lot of improvement. One of the two bartenders after mixing drinks for patrons was drinking anything that was left over while the customers at the bar watched. As for the food... I have definetly experienced better for a lot less cost. The salad was $6 of simply lettuce and spinich leaves with a half dozen croutons. The pheasant marsala was the most bland marsala dish I have ever experienced. The sauce tasted like Campbell's cream of mushroom soup. The pheasant was chewy and had no flavor.

This place has a variety of offers and hence it sets itself apart from the rest of the franchise world. I had the smoked duck and for the most part was ok , I love duck and this was the first time I had it prepared this way so I did not know what to expect..... It's different; the veggies were not over cooked and the drink selections were good. It's worth the stop if you are looking for something different.

At best 3 stars reservations at 8 left at 1045 food was good except the pheasant it was horrible. Rest of my party was not pleased. I had the prime, the largest person at the table had the salmon it was small and sad looking. Are service was horrible, dirty silver wear, ask it you want any thing a didn't wait for a answer. Shamefully bad! But if you still want to go order the prime and cancel the rest of your night.

Love this place! Perfect for a special occasion or for a nice evening out. Every visit has been wonderful! We even used the back room for the celebration of our Parents 60th Anniversary and had a very memorable evening. It couldn't have been more perfect!

So my wife and I went here to experience "fine dining" of Minot. The restaurant is decorated very well and looks very nice. I had called 5 days ahead of time to make reservations (just gets you a booth, not necessary if you would like to just walk in and eat). The hostess informed me there had been a mix up and they were unable to get me a booth, but they had all of my info so I'm not sure what happened. To top it all off, we saw plenty of booths come available and one never have anyone sit in it. We ordered the salmon and the mushrooms appetizer. They were ok. Nothing to write home about. We then ordered salads (Cesar), they were brought out before we had even finished our appetizers. The salads were fine. Pretty hard to mess up a Cesar salad. Our main courses came out about 2 minutes later. Talk about feeling rushed and having a cluttered table. We both ordered the smoked (so they claim) duck. It's half a duck but more than enough. The presentation was terrible and the sides seemed out of place. The vegetables were good, and I had rice as my other side. It was white rice with sugar mixed into it...that's it. The ducks had NO smoke flavor. None. They were both over cooked and the sauce they were served with had an odd Asian flare and seemed very overbearing after a couple bites. My wife had garlic smashed potatoes and she liked them a lot but they didn't pair well with the duck and sauce. Finally we had dessert. The bread pudding was actually really good from taste to presentation. I had the spice cake. It would have been amazing if it wasn't as dry as a sandbox. After tip we spent $138. The best part of the meal was the wine we brought in ourselves. $7 corking fee. When it's all said and done, I understand that we are in Minot here, but if I'm going to dish out that kind of money for a "fine dining" experience, I expect better.

I've rate an here now 4 times. The variety of food is fantastic, the steak options are really good. I can't put my finger on one specific thing. But something is missing. It's not the food, or the wine/drinks. I can't put my finger on why I won't give it five stars.

Excellent taste of both North Dakota! My first trip to the area and this capped off a great day! Pheasant was amazing!

This is a place that used to be great. They have cheapened their menu and narrowed their options for sides. Having a choice of garlic mashed potatos or garlic mashed potatos is beyond unoriginal it's Insulting, especially when they're not any good. I ordered the elk loin, my girlfriend had the duck, with it's "Amazing Wine Reduction," so I have been both told and read about. Its nothing to boast about, it was a mess texturely, overpowered the protein, and appeared distinctly on both main courses (again unoriginal). As I stated earlier, this place used to be good. There was a time when it deserved high marks. The fact is people flock here because a local, who is now a movie star owns the restaurant. I get it, you lower the quality, people are coming anyways thats more money in the owners pockets. That won't work forever, eventually people are gonna catch on. I realize at least one of the owners is a busy man, hopefully he can entice one of the other owners to stop hiring line cooks and bring in a chef. If you already have a chef, put his or her name on the menu to stand by their work. If you really want a hip sheeky vibe of a restaurant, expand your sides menu horizon beyond a potato, don't use the same sauce for multiple proteins, and have a chef that knows what they're doing. This place no longer deserves the high marks it once had, and for some reason still currently holds. I've also heard it said this is the only restaurant thats good in Minot. Untrue, Kroll's Diner, Big Time Bistro, Panera Bread, Ebeneezers, Alphonsus Pizza and Pub, N.D. Asia, Sakuras, and Grizzly's are all better choices and most of these places are about half the price. Don't get suckered in by the talk the name stands behind the celebrity not the food.

Wanted to write a quick update... have been back several times since my original review in 2012, and have had more positive experiences than not. Ambiance is great, drinks are great, food is good, and it's a fun place to spend an evening. As long as you don't set your expectations too highly, I would guess you'll enjoy yourself.

I am only giving four stars because we did have one bad experience (must have been an off day for the cook), but have been back since and everything was great! I spent about 7 months in Minot, and between the weather and being deprived of good food, I was miserable. However, walking into Ten North Main was a relief. Atmosphere is awesome, food is delicious (pheasant strips are too tasty), and service is wonderful. Definitely worth the price and perfect for anniversary/romantic dinner.

I was severed the "butt" of the prime rib which was annoying but it was still a good prime rib. Service and staff was great!

We had a great family dinner here tonight. Best Mojito of my entire drinking life. The pheasant strips were by far the best appetizer of the 3 we ordered. I could have just had those and been happy. The French onion soup was also quite tasty...cheesy goodness. I had the buffalo NY strip with a baked potato and Gorgonzola sauce. Perfection. I also tried my niece's Curry Beef Tips. Perfect amount of spice and tender beef made me almost wish I had gotten that as my entree. The creme brûlée, blueberry bread pudding and the sundae with peanut butter caramel sauce were all delicious. Our waiter, Josh was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. Definitely a spot I would come back to every time I visit Minot.

The Resturant is very nice and service was quick. I had the bison steak and it was average at best especially for $33. It had a slight pepper flavor and that's about it. I ordered it medium and it was pretty close to medium. My friends girlfriend ordered a chicken ceasar salad and it was obviously chicken from a bag and she proceeded to scrape all of the "chicken" off of the salad onto a plate, which the waitress never asked about, not even after picking up the plate of "chicken" and my friend asked for the chicken to be taken off of the bill. The waitress still didn't ask what was wrong with it or attempt to make it right. Over all 10 North Main is average at best and I will not be spending $50 for one person on dinner there again.

you MUST have a reservation before going here or be prepared to wait. I only had the chicken/wild rice soup which was a little heavy but good. I also had the walleye with rice. Some of my rice was hard.. As if it had been sitting in a rice cooker for a while and dried out. It would NOT expect this from such an expensive restaurant. My walleye was breaded and fried and there were pools of oil still on the fish. The walleye was nothing special. This is a good place if you are celebrating a special occasion.. reminds me of home which is in Los Angeles but the food in LA is waaaaaaaay better

Pros: Our server knew a lot about the food items on the menu, and my thick cut of bison was prepared perfectly medium rare. The pheasant strips had a good zing, the calamari were not rubbery (a common mistake) and the dipping sauce was wonderful. The french press coffee options also showed attention to an important detail that is often forgotten at the end of the meal. I have often went to nice restaurants, had a great, meal and then I am served terrible coffee at the end. The blueberry creme brule tasted like blueberry muffin batter with a nice crispy top. Amazing! The decor was pleasant, with a lot of great local art. I wouldn't suggest that the owner get rid of the original ceilings. However, it would be nice if there was a little more architecture used to dampen the noise. Finally, I just have one complaint that prevents me from giving this restaurant 5 stars. The server did not know anything about the drink menu. When I asked her about wine suggestions she just suggested white wine for white meats, and red wine for red meats. At the very least the server should know good wine pairings that go with the specials for the night.

10 North Main (which is owned by Minot native, Josh Duhamel) is a very nice restaurant in downtown Minot that has sort of a Hollywood-esque feel! It's definitely the place to go for a great meal or special occasion! I highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli... it was delicious!

This is definitely Minot's finest. While in Minot on business, one of my clients recommended 10 North Main. My party of 5 showed up on a Saturday night (7:00) without a reservation and we only had to wait a few minutes. Overall, the food was very good. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I didn't care for the bacon wrapping, but it didn't detract too much from the steak. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food with one exception. There was a complaint about the shrimp quality from one of my partners. It probably doesn't make sense to order seafood in a restaurant in ND. On the plus side, one of my other partners declared that his steak was the best of his life! Towards the end of our meal, our server presented my party with a bottle of wine compliments of one of my clients (apparently he had called and asked if we had showed up). It was a classy touch and it made the night's dining experience very enjoyable.

This is without a doubt the best restaurant in Minot. A casual fine dining experience at a reasonable cost. Service and food quality are the best you will get in Minot. The portions are generous and menu options have a local flair. The pastas are outstanding, but my personal favorite is the filet mignon with Gorgonzola sauce. Reservations are highly recommended.

Great food and atmosphere!! The menu has a large selection ranging from steak to pheasant strips and a duck and wild rice soup. I had a bison steak that was perfect!! The appetizers were really good!! I had a cheese tray that came with cheeses and fruits and all went well with the wine I had.we also had really good service. Reservations are needed. Good selections of beers and wines.

What a find in Minot, ND of all places. It continued my trend of gourmet dining as I drove across the country. There was a variety of modern dishes to choose from, including roast quail. Yup, they had quail. I had a tasty pumpkin ravioli that came highly recommended, and I was more than happy with it. According to wikitravel, this place is co-owned by the actor and Minot native Josh Duhamel.

Even though I live in Calif. , this is my all time favorite restaurant. The on site owner is a fantastic. He remembers you name, and where we're from and even remember the wine we like. The food is wonderful. Service great. We held a Rehearsal diner there and it was a great venue for this event. Out of town guest were impressed too.

The best dining in Minot! I went with my wife for Valentine's day and it was a very classy, romantic atmosphere. I ordered the duck and she had the lobster pasta, they were both absolutely delicious.

Thank the LORD for this restaurant. I can't say enough good things about it, and the dining experience had there is unparalleled in Minot. This is really the only place I want to go when I go out to eat with my family. Two family members have Gluten allergies, and the staff was more than accommodating checking with the chef about what items on the menu we could have. Great wine list as well, and desserts to die for. Makes living in Minot a little more bearable.

On a recent road trip, we found this place on a local Minot website and gave it a try. It has a great industrial feel to it, and the seating was comfortable. Service was good and our server had a great knowledge of the menu and wine selection. We began with a cheese plate. Yes sounds odd, but the options were light as were the bread and crackers. My husband ordered the crab cakes and said they were good. Not, great, but good. I ordered the smoked duck with a sake-hoisin sauce. I like the sauce as it had depth, but the duck was SO good, I saw no need for the sauce. The portions are big, so sharing an entrée may be the way to go. Versus TC prices, we saw great value for the money.

Ten North Main is quite possibly the best restaurant in ND! The food is excellent and the waitstaff is terrific. It's a little spendy, but totally worth it. The walleye and salmon are my favorite dishes, but my other half recommends the prime rib. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed regardless of what you order. Make reservations at least a couple days in advance because this place fills up fast!

The nicest place to eat in Minot. The food is amazing and it's the perfect place to go for a special occasion. The appetizers are amazing and the butternut squash ravioli is to die for. I've never eaten a bad thing yet.

Menu was superb with expected pricing. I love the spunky feel of the place with a loft and a disco ball. Food was well presented and fresh. I would give this 5 stars BUT I'd have to say that the 5th star requires that something extra when you take that fist bite. Best place in Minot for sure! Maybe best in the state. Just cant quite get to that 5th star. I'll definitely return!

The food is great I planned a couples night out for valentines day and we ate there. They reserved a nice table for 18 of us upstairs it was really nice ! I love the food I usually eat the Seafood, the shrimp and fish that Is imported from Hawaii! Really good, my husband loves the pork chop and mushroom appetizer. I have had bad service 2 out of 3 times, but the food is always good. And if you have a problem the manager is really nice & helpful. Always make reservations :)

  • Matt N.

Make a reservation and you won't be disappointed. Parking is minimal and prices are a little high- but the negatives end there. The food, service, and interior of this restaurant are extremely high end for Minot. The prices are on par with chain steakhouses and pasta restaurants, but the quality of what you get is much higher. We've gone here with groups and just as a couple, and both experiences were very enjoyable. The staff is attentive and completely open to customizing your dish to your liking. The menu is extensive, and features game dishes not normally found in the area. The bathrooms are clean, and from the appetizers to the main course to dessert- nothing is left to be desired. Sure, the fact that it is in Minot definitely helps this place to shine and exceed expectations. If you're in the area, though, it's definitely worth the visit.

I have eaten four times in the last year. It is by far the best I have been to in North Dakota so far. The food is great, but the service is outstanding. I dined there a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend- just the two of us by the kitchen. Wonderful service. I diner there with 10 people last night and still, excellent service! Check out the prime rib and the walleye!

If your not willing to spend over 100 to 200 for a couple then I suggest you dont go here. This is a place with very strong service, very good food, and very good wine selection. This plac e is high end as it gets and it shocking that its located ina city under 100k.This is a big city place but the prices are good and I suggest this place to anybody who wants a good dinner and is willing to spend the money and tip good!!!

When going to a nice restaurant, food quality is expected but what makes a place special is the way the food is presented. 10 North Main has the great quality of food but I was especially impressed with the preparation of what I ordered. I had what they named Tasmanian Salmon with asparagus spears and a baked potato. The potato was cooked fully so each forkful was flaky and tender and of course hot. The asparagus was the type that was about a half inch in diameter so I expected it to be tough and stringy but I was amazed how my fork cut each piece with ease and the flavor was all that asparagus should be. The best part of the meal was the salmon though. I am not sure if it was really Tasmanian but it was cooked to perfection. The outside had a tasty sear and the inside was moist and yet flaked easily as my fork brushed across the thick fillet. Oh yeah, it had a great dill sauce too. I highly recommend whatever is on the menu. I know Chef Johny Pederson will make sure it is right.

Nice atmosphere. Food is just OK for the price. Service is always great. My friends like it, my brother would give it 1 star or less if he even knew what Yelp was but he can be overdramatic.

Had reservations at 5:30 pm, and were seated immediately. Our server wass Stormie. She was an excellent server, very attentive. The food was fabulous. My wife got the smoked chicken and I had a steak. The chicken was excellent, and my steak was cooked a perfect medium. Will definitely be back.

We were in Minot on a business trip and were recommended Ten North as "The Best Restaurant in Minot." Having been to several other restaurants in town, I'd have to say this distinction is pretty accurate. Getting to Ten North these days is a bit of an adventure and accessible (seemingly) only by 4 Wheel Drive. They seem to be digging up every road in the town so be prepared to drive a few blocks on bumpy, pothole ridden dirt road. Once you are parked, your return to an even dirtier car. Bottom line, don't wear your Sunday finest. Cuisine wise, the menu offers some amazing dishes but be prepared to drop some coin to get it. I live in San Francisco and I see these prices all the time but by any standard, this place is expensive. I opted to have the half duck dish which was very well prepared. I see they also had a number of beef dishes which looked excellent as well. If I was on a budget (but why would you be if you are going here?), I'd recommend one of the pasta dishes. I see there are a number of pictures on Yelp but because Ten North is so dark, all the dishes look crappy. Trust me, the pictures don't do this place justice. Go to the ATM and give this place a try.

    (4)
  • Tom S.

Everything about Ten North is first class. My ribeye was cooked to perfection as was the accompanying vegetables. Our waiters knowledge of the wine list was most helpful. The restaurant itself is laid out in a way that make conversations at the table easy at a normal voice level. Had a chance to taste the ribs which would be my next choice, awesome! I would return.

  • Iver M.

Great atmosphere, professional service, more then likely one of the better fine dining options in the area although I can't speak for the dinner menu. Just the dessert... I went their because of their dessert sampler platter. Which aesthetically was everything I imagined, but taste was not up to par. It tasted like cheap desserts, low quality shortening, and uncreative overuse of white sugar. When I got home I had the worst stomach ache I have ever had for literally hours. Granted, I did eat an excessive amount of this dessert, but I eat an excessive amount of dessert on a regular basis and have never experienced something like this. Point being. I appreciated the presentation, but the quality and preparation need some work.

  • Dave L.

This is a gem in an otherwise lacking area. The best duck I've ever tasted, topped with the wine reduction sauce and outstanding blueberry bread pudding made it a meal I'm still talking about. Great to find a truly talented chef and great staff. This is a must visit place if you are in the area.
