Had the BEST dinner at Sake Asian Fusion last night! I had tried to take my husband in for his first time there for dinner about a week ago and had a rocky experience that led to us eating elsewhere. That being said, our waitress last night went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure the experience last night was the best ever! I have never had better customer service than what we just received! My husband was definitely skeptical after his first experience, but after last night he can't stop talking about how wonderful this place is! Not only did we receive a free appetizer and free dessert, our waitress was awesome enough to give us a $20 on top of it all! She completely remedied the previous situation, and locked in some loyal customers for sure. Not to mention the food here is ALWAYS delicious and SO fresh. I've never ordered something I didn't absolutely love. We will definitely be coming back as much as our bank accounts will allow!

Plum Wine, Pumpkin Roll, & Angel Roll....yum, yum, & yum! We started off our vacation right coming here! This is one of those hole in the wall, 10 table places you can't pass up. It was full the whole time we were there. Everything was very good! It took me forever to chose what I wanted because it all looked so good. The wine was pretty sweet but strong. The Pumpkin Roll was seaweed wrap, rice, and pumpkin in the middle. It was a little bland by itself but when I used soy sauce it was awesome! The Angel Roll was so amazing! I'm not a big fan of tuna but since it was peppered I wanted to try the tuna a different way. Still not my favorite but everything in this roll worked so well together so it didn't bother me as much. Great place to grab some sushi if you're visiting! Happy rolling!

I love good sushi, and have been looking for a spot here in Jacksonville. I recently tried Sake Asian Fusion, and WOW!! I'm in love. For this area, you won't find any better sushi. I had the Philadelphia Roll (basic hand roll, but one of my favorites, and because it's so simply made it's what I usually use as my freshness meter for a sushi place), Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Alligator Roll. All were fresh, delicious, and had a nice presentation. The rolls were a good size (another place I went to in Jax, the rolls were quite small). Sake offers their own distinct variety on their specialty rolls. This is one of the things that makes a sushi place special; letting the sushi chef's creativity shine and letting the restaurant stand out from all the others. One of my favorite treats at a sushi place is the Japanese Plum Wine, and Sake carries it. As this is a sweet wine, it's usually my after sushi dessert. Enjoy Jacksonville!!

This is the only place to get sushi in Jacksonville. Everything they have is mouth watering & amazing! You must go.

I've been going to this place since it first opened. Hands down, the best sushi in Jacksonville. The Godzilla roll has always been my go-to but there is always something new on the sushi menu to try. There is a secret menu but, if you pay close attention to the monthly specials, you will know what's on it. So let's say you fell in love with the Halloween roll but it's May. Just ask for it and they will make it for you. So here's the ultimate testimonial: after being a customer for several years, I actually waitressed there for 3 months to pick up some extra cash. Oftentimes this will expose the unflattering underbelly to someone but I continued to eat the food while working there and still afterwards. It is a cleanly ran place.

Holy crap, good Japanese food in Jacksonville? With the sheer number of Japanese/Asian/Fusion restaurants in the area we stopped by for dinner with guarded anticipation. Long story short, Sake did not disappoint. The food was great, service was excellent and all-in-all it was a great dinner and I look forward to going back. With my ever expanding list of places that I've visited/reviewed, I try to keep things consistent. It's an easy 4-star, only because I've been to some legit 5-star sushi restaurants that I love so much I'd fly to California to get it; that's by no means a condemnation or a negative when it comes to Sake, but a simple reflection of my experiences. That being said, I'm pretty sure I'll be going here once a week from now on. Great job folks, and thank you for carrying Orion!

Good sushi in Jacksonville? I never thought it was possible! This place was AMAZING. My husband and I are from California and are huge sushi fans. We had a spicy tuna roll, volcano roll and the new 2015 roll. Everything was fantastic. Our waitress was sweet and the sushi came out quickly. The place is small inside but doesn't feel cramped. I can't wait to make this place my regular sushi place!

Great food! We love the bento boxes! Would recommend this restaurant to friends. They're ginger salad dressing is super yummy!

  • Eric S.

I have never been to a place with better specialty rolls. Even if the specialty roll is no longer on the menu, chances are, they'll still make it. try the Pink Lady roll. You can't go wrong with this place, service is a little slow, prices a little high, but it is well worth it.

  • Chris T.

Sake Asian Fusion is a solid restaurant. Sushi, American hibachi, Japanese and Thai dishes. I usually get sushi rolls, good not great, which can get expensive quickly. The staff is very nice and the restaurant pleasant.

Sake is located in a strip mall right next to the unemployment office(!) & the Foodlion. Had the unagi don (eel with sweet sauce) & shrimp tempura. The eel was fantastic. The shrimp tempura was another thing, however. The shrimp was rolled in too much panko bread crumbs & therefore was a little too greasy. Overall it's a nice little place.

  • Naomi K.

They make no disillusion with their name- it is after all fusion. You can get a variety of favorite Asian selections like a plethora of stylized "sushi" rolls with creative ingredients, pad thai, General Tso's or bubble tea. The taste is great, for sushi covered in sweet sauces and have glorious presentations. As long as I can get my Ikura sashimi style, I guess I can't complain much. I would suggest you stick with the rolls though. Udon is something not to be messed with. You would have much better luck at a ramen house.

I have gone here a few times. The sushi is very good. The staff are ok nothung to rave about but the food is very good

  • Joolia C.

Mehhhhh for a place in jville it would be considered nicer than your average... But coming from the city, the food was all right. the service, our waiter was awesome. very on top of her game and real detailed and loved the service. Forgot her name, which is a shame, but she sure was awesome. Not the best sushi I've had in NC, but okay for jville. Mediocre food. Cute little place though.

  • Orlando R.

By far, the best place to get sushi in J-Ville. The service is outstanding! Be sure to ask for Andrea. Every time I go there with my fiancé, Andrea remembers our order and promptly ensures that we have everything we need. They even take our custom orders in regards to a special sushi roll that they make just for us. Whenever the topic of sushi comes up, I tell everyone to go to Sake...the best place in town!

    (5)
  • Aluanna F.

The sushi is really good here and I would give them a 5 star except the older asian guy in there ( he may be the owner), always looks pissed off!! He constantly looks a cross between miserable and mad!!! We have been here 2 or 3 times and although we enjoy the food, that guys face puts a downer on things! Have some etiquette for the love of god!!!!!!!! :)

I was appalled at the music that was playing in this restaurant. It was filled with profanity and vulgarity and sounded like I was in a trashy club rather than a dining establishment. One waitress tried to change the music but another employee said that she was just going to change it back and she did. What competent manager would allow this kind of atmosphere? Some of the staff would probably find a better fit working at low end gentlemans club rather than a place like this. I gave two stars only because the sushi wasn't terrible. I would recommend Shogun or Wasabi if you want sushi.

    (2)
  • Andrew C.

Eel roll had too much sauce to the point where you could only taste the sauce. The crunchy roll was ok, nothing great about the food or the presentation. Service wasn't that great for being half packed. Prices here are the same everywhere; $8-10 for a special roll and $14-20 for a meal. All the sushi taste the same in j-ville.

    (2)
  • Jessica M.

Eat here almost nearly every week. The staff and owner is nice. The food is quick and not overpriced.

    (5)
  • Alicia L.

Hands down some of the best Sushi I have had since moving from San Diego. The fish is always very fresh and they have a great variety of rolls.

    (5)
  • Christine P.

I think this is the best sushi bar I've been to in my life. Though it does get crowded I say the food is delicious. Their soup is warm to the belly. Now the place is a little on the pricy side but they do have other options available.

    (5)
  • T L.

Saké, I love you. I got the Angel roll and the eel avocado roll and my husband got the pot stickers (I forget what they're actually called). Definitely will have to try the alligator roll next time! We had to order takeout tonight, but everything was good nonetheless. A little pricey for the specialty rolls, but what are ya gonna do?

  • Jennifer S.

Fantastic find amid the Jacksonville strip-mall monotony. I discovered the place when it first opened through family members in town and quickly became obsessed. I could eat Sake every day! When you become a regular they absolutely know it and remember you, including the fact that you'd like a large house hot sake with your order! (Does this make me an alcoholic?) Especially for military or family members who have ever been stationed in Japan or Okinawa, a certain authenticity makes Sake the natural first choice in town. When you are on a more limited budget, Shogun is a satisfying alternative for sushi. Favorite rolls include: Tornado, Sweetheart, Angel, and Volcano. Lunchtime bento boxes are a tremendous value as well.

  • Billy T.

Ate here for the first time since moving from California. The food is top notch. Ordered the spicy crunchy tuna, shrimp tempura, volcano, and Cali roll. All served very fast and tasted excellent. Our server Rhia was very pleasant and attentive. We will be back

  • Jodi C.

Yum. Yum. Yum. Great sushi, delicious teriyaki, fast service, friendly atmosphere... An all around fantastic sushi restaurant.

    (5)
  • Morgan M.

New server today who wasn't on her A-game, but the tuna avocado and shrimp tempura roll were bomb. They even kept me full through the end of the day! UPDATE - we went on another occasion and my husband had a bone in this spicy tuna roll. It got lodge in the roof of his mouth and he had to pull it out. Besides that it is fine, regular, nothing special sushi.

  • Melanie F.

Best sushi in town! Hands down. Not only is it tasty, it's always beautiful, as well.

    (5)
  • Keith G.

Been here twice in the last month. The service is great and fast! For J'ville it is a great spot for sushi, and they have a variety of entrée dishes as well. I've had the sexy grill roll and the dinosaur roll and they are both delicious and very fresh tasting. I've also had the general tso chicken and curry chicken. The entrée portions are a great size and very well prepared. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on this menu. Again not the best sushi ever but for Jacksonville it is one of the best. I feel like my personal star rating scale has had to change since moving here.

    (4)
  • Kaylen K.

We absolutely loved our server! Based on our preferences, she recommended sushi for my husband and I (one off the menu) and we loved everything we had - sushi, tempura, gyoza and salads. I ordered Basil Ginger Chicken, but they ran out of basil, so I had to choose something else. I was a little disappointed by the lack of variety in their Asian offerings - being "Asian Fusion", I was expecting a little bit more, but what we had was good. I'll definitely come back!

  • Jenn R.

Great lunch special. The miso soup is really good and the spicy tuna roll is one of my favorites!

  • Tom H.

I loved this place. It's almost hiding itself as it sits deep inside a strip mall with little advertising and once you walk in it is also small; but then again you can't expect much size for Jacksonville as I am usually a big city guy. The food was absolutely delicious (granted I am in Lejeune waiting to deploy and have been eating "chow hall slop" for a few days...anything else would be delicious) But it really was good. I had the seafood teriyaki which, even though the $25 price tag seems a bit hefty, you do get a healthy dose of lobster, perfectly seared scallops, NC shrimp, and a big piece of tender salmon that can fill the stomach of an average man. I am not an average man and have been going through some training so therefore I decided I could allow myself to order some sushi rolls (after all this place is know for sushi) The rolls are well presented with good aesthetic appeal and they are surely delicious. Good mix of sauces and many different kinds of tuna. I recommend the sexy tuna roll (at least I think that's what it was called...I def remember the word sexy) They also have good service, polite and accommodating waitresses. Overall a great dining experience

Delightfully delish!!!! One of the best restaurants. Fun Asian sodas and some awesome sushi.

  • Drew W.

This place is amazing! I have been here at least five times and have never had a complaint. I have tried other sushi bars and this place still takes the cake. They have terrific sushi and good service. The best time to go is definitely during lunch hours because of the lunch specials. They have great specialty rolls. Suggest getting the western blvd roll. I have suggested this place to all my friends and they have given me great reviews about this place as well. There is not that many tables in the restaurant but I have never had a problem finding seating and I have never had to wait to be seated. Great food and great prices. I will keep returning!!!

  • Brittany A.

Love this place. Great service, great food. Living in Jacksonville while my husband has been stationed here has been lousy. This isn't exactly a foodie kinda town. But when I found Sake, I knew I was going to make it through! Love it

    (4)
  • Vicki H.

This place is not too friendly with children. They gave us a hard time about them being with us. They mess up my order every single time. The food tastes great but is overpriced. One time the waitress forgot all about us. We had to remind her that we hadn't gotten any service

    (3)
  • D D.

What a find in Jacksonville! I went to this place with very very low expectations, wouldn't think sushi would be good around that area. I must say I was surprised I had the yummy yummy roll it was delicious! But I needed another roll to be satisfied/full service was good and it's nice inside, nothing bad about this place would come back anytime!

    (4)
  • R L.

Thanks again Yelp for helping me choose a great sushi place which visiting Camp Lejeune. It was really busy on a Wednesday night which was a great sign. All of the rolls we had were great. My favorites were the Western Blvd Roll, pumpkin tempura roll, yam tempura roll, and the asparagus roll. Being from southern California where we have great sushi this place ranked high in my book.

    (5)
  • Jennifer I.

This place was packed! Went here on a Friday night, and it was very crowded. I don't mind almost-sharing a table with another couple/family because, well, I don't have that personal space bubble that most people have. Drank an apple sake, which was pretty good, and ate a volcano roll. Not entirely sure what was in it, but it was awesome!

    (4)
  • Melanie F.

Really love their avocado and eel sushi! My only complaint was that we weren't allowed to have the same sushi for one of the meals offered....I wanted double avocado and eel lol.

Tierd of being alone in a new city and couped up in my apt, I decided to go for sushi. I picked a random spot and put it in my navi. I arrived here and thought okay...looks pretty dead but my stomach was growling so i just walked in.boy let me tell you - 5pm BAM this place was packed!! I mean it wasnt that big of a place but people sure liked it because every single seat was taken! Since I was by myself I decided to not even try to waste a table and took a seat at the sushi bar. The hostest could have been more attentive. I was only two feet from her upon entering and it took 2-4 minutes for her to even acknowlege my presence but it was busy thats cool i totally get it. So i sat down at the bar and check out the menu -I had a hard time because everything looked GOOD. My waitress and the chefs at the sushi bar were very pleasant and personable. I ordered the Tiger Eye appetizer and French Roll. Both very deliciousl The whole time I was eating I got to see them make all the other rolls and I swear I wish I could order and eat every single one. Service and food quality here is excellent. I would absolutely come back until i try every single item on the menu.

    (4)
  • Brent A.

Sushi was excellent. Very fresh. All the off the menu rolls were delicious. Especially the general taco roll. Also the parrot roll was very good. For a restaurant in a strip mall we were a little skeptical, but everything was very good

    (4)
  • Miranda J.

Absolutely, hands down, the best sushi in J-Ville. My husband and I tried it when they sent out flyers in the mail with a coupon right when they first opened. The service there was amazing. I can't remember her name, but one of the waitresses there always used to make me this martini that is off the menu (at least it wasn't on there as of the last time we went) made from a lychee fruit. Mmmmm, I still crave that sometimes. The Yummy Yummy roll and the Sexy Roll were some of our favorites. We told as many of our friends that we could about this place, and if we still lived there it would definitely still be a regular for us!

    (5)
  • Nicole S.

The sushi is so good here! It's a small place but they offer a ton of different options. We'll be back!

    (5)
  • Brenda D.

Very surprised! Don't judge by the outside! Food was amazing and fresh. My husband and I had the sexy sushi roll and shared the chicken hibachi plate. We will be back. Only bad thing this place is very small. We went about 8-830pm no wait at that time.

    (5)
  • Alana A.

Went on a Sunday where it wasn't busy. Got seated quickly and food came less than 15 minutes of ordering. We have a nice and friendly waitress. I enjoyed the food. We got the Volcano Roll, Sexy Grill Roll (our fave) and Spider Roll. Definitely be back again!

    (5)
  • Ted L.

Decent quality sushi, especially the tuna. Rolls are good too but nothing mesmerizing. Hand roll is recommended over traditional rolls. Clean but small interior, definitely not for a big party. Friendly and quick service are always. One bad thing is their appetizers are overpriced for the quality and quantity.

    (3)
  • Sarah V.

2 stars means "Meh. I've experienced better." and I have. This place is sub par for sushi. Medicore at best. I tried it out because it received several good reviews both on yelp and from people in real life that it was "The best sushi in Jacksonville". I think if THAT was the best sushi Jacksonville has to offer, this town is missing out on some good sushi. First, it was not authentic. I don't know what the heck it was, but it was not authentic. I ordered a roll, which was probably my first mistake; it was supposed to have tuna and salmon in it and I got some ground up fish wrapped in rice and rice paper. Gross! I was really hoping to find a fantastic go to sushi place here in Jacksonville, but I guess the search will go on. If you know what real sushi is supposed to taste like, then you should avoid this place. You will not like it.

    (2)
  • Gloria G.

In comparison to what is offered in Jacksonville, Sake has a decent selection and quality but still subpar for a regular sushi consumer. "Fusion" is so cleverly inserted into the name to hint a presence of inauthenticity Consistency is lacking which may be correlated with the turnover of staff. Sometimes, the sushi rolls are packed tightly and the sashimi is sliced proportionately. Other times, the sushi rolls fall apart easily and the rice is not moist (a huge no no for Asian rice!!) The miso tastes watered down missing all the flavor most of the time. Overall, I'm just appreciative that a sushi restaurant offers fairly priced decent sushi. The other sushi restaurants in town serve little slivers or stale pieces of raw fish to pass off as sashimi.

    (3)
  • Dan C.

The best Sushi place in Jacksonville NC hands down. I've been to Hakata and Shogun--the other two major sushi places in Jacksonville. Sake Asian Fusion beats them all on quality ingredients, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to any sushi fan. Try the Yummy Yummy Roll or the Western Blvd Roll.

  • Pamela F.

I was there with friends three times last week. I was in Jacksonville visiting. The friends I went with have also been back separate of me. Each time was really good, fresh fish and good service. I really liked their Tigers Eye, Spicy Tuna, Soft Shell Crab roll - I think that is their special. Their soba noodle soup is terrific as is their chicken pad Thai. It was great to find Asian Fusion in Jacksonville and not have to drive an hour to Wilmington!

  • Mel S.

    Great sushi!

  • Kels B.

Great sushi and the miso soup was good, however, the rolls weren't the most creative...

  • Mark A.

The worst food in Onslow county!!! First the floor was so slippery it was like ice skating to the table. Then ordered hibachi steak. $9. The came out and was very eye appealing. Then I made the mistake of trying to eat it. The rice was cold, the "steak" was so tough I couldn't eat it. And the food had no flavor at all. I have never been this disappointed. The girl said sorry here's your bill. $9 for 2 bites.

    (1)
  • Shawna J.

The only place worth going to for Sushi in Jacksonville. Forget Hakata and Shogun. Sake is small, but we are never rushed even when all 11 tables are full. We have been there many times, hardly ever order the same thing twice and it's all been very good!! Pretty presentation and it tastes wonderfully fresh compared to other places in town. We have also had the 'Love Boat", a cute little boat loaded with mostly sashimi, and a roll to share, YUM! **update, my husband recently returned from overseas and SAKE was where he had to go eat that night!! I think he might even have been drooling over his food!***

    (4)
  • Brian D.

Probably the best sushi I've had in several years. Service was great, the 'sexy grill roll' was fantastic, will go back to get another before I head out of town. The outside of the place doesn't do it justice, head in and give it a try.

    (5)
  • Michelle W.

The Yummy Yummy Roll speaks for itself. Yummy is right! I'm more sold on their sushi rather than the other items on the menu. Although the Chicken Stir-Fried Udon is tasty too.

    (4)
  • Sayaka J.

We went for a lunch and lunch specials seem really reasonable. Rolls were soso but rice was a little bit hard.

The first time that I visited Sake Asian Fusion was about three years ago? when they first opened in Jacksonville. I recently visited the establishment again a few weeks ago, and I was pretty disappointed in the quality of food and service that was provided. First off, we saw that they had "Thai Tea" on the menu, and we said why not, and we ordered it. It came out tasting like slightly sweetened cold milk, so we sent it back, and they gave us one without ice and it tasted so much better. One of the waitress explained to us that their "Thai Tea" in reality is not authenic Thai Tea, it is their rendition of what Thai Tea should be. Anyways, on to the food, our waitress brings us plates, and the one I received had two chips on either side of the plate along with food residue. When I pointed this out to her, she grabbed up both plates and walked away without apologizing for the dirty plates. When the food finally came, the sushi was placed on hot plates that I assumed came freshly clean out of the dishwasher. I believe that it is a sushi 101 not to place sushi on a warm or hot plate, if anything it should be placed on a chilled plate so that it preserves the freshness of the raw fish. Now onto service, our waitress was pretty much a magician that popped maybe three times during our time there, 1. to take orders, 2. to drop off drinks and food, 3. To ask how food was and dropped off the check. Overall, their food isn't very creative at all, and at best their sushi is okay. I think that I would rather go the commissary and pick up so sushi then visit Sake Asian Fusion again. On a side note, I might be very picky with dress codes, but when you are a hostess to a resturant, I don't think it is apporpriate to be wearing a white demin skirt with crocs, when the waiters and waitresses are all dress apporpriately for their jobs. Thats just me.

    (1)
  • Cody M.

If you want good Sushi go to the Commissary, if you want excellent Sushi stop here. My wife and I love the atmosphere and fine selection of Sushi. I was quite surprised when I walked into this what to look like average spot. She still can't pronounce Sake correctly, but it is an awesome place.

    (5)
  • Forest R.

Great sushi. Reasonable prices. The only reason it does not get five stars is the atmosphere. Too small, and if you sit at the bar, the waiters reach over you every two minuts to retrieve plates for the table customers. Service a little spotty.

    (4)
  • Lisa C.

Best sushi place in Jacksonville, hands down. Don't expect to get seated right away, because it is popular. The service was good, nothing to rave about, but I've never had any issues with the staff other than them looking at my husband like he's insane when he basically orders the whole menu and then proceeds to finish off every plate. The only reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because I've been spoiled by amazing Seattle sushi and can't honestly say the quality of the rolls is 5 stars.

    (4)
  • Marilyn O.

One of the best places to get sushi in Jacksonville. Frequent this place very often!!!!!

    (5)
  • Nicole L.

Okay, not amazing. Restaurant is a bit small and crowded. The atmosphere was a little noisy when I went. Because of the small space, it feels quite humid. Sushi was decent but the eel was not up to my standards that time. Service was pretty good. However in my opinion, they are overpriced. I can get better sushi for at least 10 dollars less in Jacksonville.

    (3)
  • Thomas B.

This is the place for sushi in Jacksonville. It's a little expensive, but definitely worth the cost.

    (5)
  • Matt H.

I love this place, Ive eaten sushi for most of my life and this is the one place that doesn't disappoint, good prices, good food, and a decent selection and specials everyday. Only down side is it is very small so expect to wait for a little bit

    (5)
  • Nicole W.

We've been here a few times and always left happy. I haven't had their sushi yet but I'm looking forward to it soon! Their grilled chicken/beef teriyaki dishes are AMAZING! The rice is delicious, the veggies are fresh and steamed to perfection. I don't know what kind of sauce they use on their meat but it's really good! Not too heavy, not too light. One star off because the first time I came, I ordered their curried chicken and ended up eating half of my husbands beef teriyaki instead. Neither of us were impressed with their curry sauce. The beef teriyaki we had that night totally saved our opinion of the restaurant because it was so good! And it came garnished with a little fishy carved from a carrot!

    (4)
  • Lulu B.

I really like the environment but I have gotten sick twice now. I've lived here all my life and must say Hakata's sushi and all is much better.

    (2)
  • Misty G.

Great sushi, good prices, great atmosphere. We go at least once a week! Lunch menu is a must. Bento Box $7-$8, sushi 2 rolls for $8 or three for $10 w salad or soup.

  • James M.

If you like sushi, and you live in Jacksonville, you know of Sake! The freshest and best tasting sushi that I have found in more than just Jacksonville. The service is always polite and the restaurant is always CLEAN. Lunch combos are great priced and delicious. I would recomend this place to anyone with a hankerin for some sushi! Godzilla rolls and spicy crunchy tuna rolls are top notch. It does not hurt that you can see the chef making your food, and these guys are definetly trained in the art of Sushi. From the porcelin cat waiving hello to paying your bill at the end, Sake Fusion is a better than average experience.

    (4)
  • Loren A.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Great service! great food! Sushi is amazing and affordable!

    (5)
  • Lila H.

Excellent Sushi! My husband does not like sushi and there was plenty on the menu for him too!! Very clean! Just what J'Ville needed!!

    (5)
  • Jaime T.

This is my favorite place to get sushi in the area. Despite the small size of the restaurant, you are never rushed out the door and you are always well taken care of. The food is always very tasty and I haven't had a bad thing from there once!! They take pride in their presentation and their prices are comparable to other sushi places!!

    (4)
  • Johnny W.

You can't bad mouth Jacksonville too much although it really is a dump because it has good Thai and Mediterranean food and now good sushi. Loved everything I ate here. Fish was very fresh.

    (5)
  • Dave S.

Simply amazing... Very general, but they have the best REAL fried rice in NC. Japanese fare is exceptional as well. Sushi is fresh and delicious, how did these wonderful people end up in a sh*thole like Jacksonville NC?!?!

My husband and I are HUGE sushi fans, Sake Asian Fusion is the best sushi you can find in Jacksonville, NC. Service is excellent, fast and friendly. Restaurant is clean and has a great atmosphere. Was a little intimidated the first time that we tried it because of the location and the outside of the building, but don't let that detour you. Amazing food!!

Friend took me to those for lunch one day cause she knew Troy, one of the sushi chefs, the white tuna and the yummy yummy sushi rolls were what we got and both were amazing. It was so good that even after both of us were full we still kept chewing down. I recommend it to anyone who loves sushi for a great price

I moved here from the west coast where the quality of sushi is very high. I've been to tons of high end sushi bars, and this place is on that level! I have only had one roll I didn't like, and that was simply due to preference. I wish so badly they had more specialty rolls. My husband and I go here at least once a week! This is also the only place I've ever ordered an entree from. I got the sesame chicken and OH MY! It was amazing! I highly recommend this place, and I will not go to another sushi place in this town! I've been to another one that had hibachi grills.. I don't remember the name, but it's NOT on Western.. that place made me sick. The fish tasted like bleach (which if you know sushi, some crappy places wash their fish in bleach to keep it fresh longer.. sounds insane but its true). I will ONLY go here!

DELICIOUS!!! Sake Asian Fusion is amazing! Their prices are great! I went for the third time today and ordered edamames for an appetizer ($3), a shrimp tempura roll for my main dish ($6), and of course tempura ice cream for desert! ($4). Everything was delicious and the food came out really fast! It's such an amazing hole-in-the wall. I will be back often!

FINALLY Jacksonville has a halfway decent restaurant. Their sushi is pretty tasty and presented well to boot. The restaurant itself looks like a complete hole in the wall from it's strip mall exterior, but is actually decorated nicely inside. They also do takeout, which I love. No more driving to Wilmington for a decent meal. Yay!

A little bit off the beaten path, it's worth entering the unassuming exterior for an enjoyable meal. The atmosphere was nicer than one might expect for the location, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. They offer a lot of different options for sushi as well as other entrees. We both had sushi lunch portions and really enjoyed our meal. It was not the penultimate sushi experience, but I will definitely be back again!
