Today, I had quite possibly the grossest experience in a restaurant to date. Being a former NY'er I had to stop into this place. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a young girl behind the counter, I had to do a double take because I thought she only had on underwear. It actually was not underwear ( I think) but SUPER short pants or something, close to bathing suit bottoms---anyhow, it was close to wearing nothing at all. Is this a strip club or a pizza place? honestly, It was pretty gross. The part that really and truly made me, not only leave, but vomit once I left, was that she reached up and pulled said short pants out of her crack and then used this same hand to put the pizza slices on a plate for another customer while we were waiting. I debated about posting this, but in all honesty and fairness, I think the owner should know. Seriously disgusting.

Great NY pizza in Montana. Who'd a thunk it? The authenticity was confirmed by three New Yawkas in my group. You can't go wrong with this pie!

fun to stop in a grab a fast crunchy bite of good pizza. have had some of their other menu items like tiramisu... yum knots sandwiches. All good little better customer service needed though. Have a couple of guys in there that just aren't all that friendly, or when asked to heat pizza...it was just hot... i like the pizza hot out of the oven...and crispy

Ate here my first night in Whitefish and was hooked! Real NY style Pie, Molto Buono!

Good pizza, a little pricy though.

Love second street! A weekly addiction. Love everything, especially the spinach salad! Slices are awesome. Pies are awesome. Cheap beer! Who could ask for anything more? Right, great music and tiramisu.

Easily top 3 pizza I've ever eaten. Ive been coast to coast and boader to boarder. And with lunch prices cheaper than any fast food joint.

Best pizza and pasta in the Valley! Great variety and high-quality ingredients. The only place to eat that's open late in Whitefish.

So this is less of an 'updated review' and more of a lecture to whoever is willing to listen. Most likely that one lone business traveler I end up sitting next to on flights. You know who you are. First, I do not see nearly enough garlic knots being sold while I wait. What are they? When made fresh, they are the essence of clouds captured by the line cooks. How? Only they know. Then tossed in light oil, sprinkled with flour and then tossed with garlic and herbs to be baked. When fresh from the oven and eaten or pulled apart they are soft, fluffy and full of flavor. The reheated ones that have been sitting around for hours are like a cold rainy day. Dense, soggy, and a little runny. Secondly, in order to support your fellow yelpers and patrons. Be sure to request an order of "Knots". Five per order. This ensures they are always fresh. Thirdly, this is directed to the owner and staff. An 'order of Knots' should be six. How you arrived at five is a mathematical mystery better left to greater minds. So for those that may need a little more encouragement. Here is how to put in an oder: 1. Take a deep breath before walking in. 2. Then move through the door and past the register to the pizza display case. 3. When staff acknowledges you - this is the key... "I'll have a slice with an order of knots and a PBR" Replace PBR with your choice of drink. 4. Remain confident. If the staff seems confused or follows it up with any sort of questions, this is their inexperience speaking. They can be forgiven. After you place your order there should be little more than a nod of acknowledgement. 5. Pay and find a place to sit. 6. Goodness is on its way. Take joy in knowing that the line cooks are one order of knots closer to having to make up a new batch. Keep'em fresh, keep'em hot. Eat your knots. P.S. I am hoping that native Montanans will understand and the owners and staff will give me a pass. Had one pizza owner go all pushbutton panic on me in the Midwest when I gave my dog a bit of pizza. Knots in general make an excellent dog treat when you get home. Life is good when everyone is happy.

It was pretty good. I got 2 pieces of Italian stromboli, but it had olives and peppers in it. Coming from the East coast, those things don't belong in stromboli. The garlics knots are great. The atmosphere is nice, but in the middle of the day it was very dark inside.

I live in Chicago and tried the Chicago deep dish he is putting-out- on-point with crust and sauce. Sausage is plentiful but could be a little spicier. Impressive job! Also tried the Sicilian-awesome!!! Enough for 4-5 people-- Dave, we need a half-size. Everyone who works there is warm and polite. Nice house salad and the house Italian dressing is so good, I could drink it!

Large portion ! Decent price ! 2$ beer ! Just a bit dirty ! But open late and really nice staff ! Calamari breading was a bit too thick and a bit oily !

Easily the best and most authentic pizza in Whitefish. Though I still miss the Cuban/PR food (fantastic), the pizza is the best around.

I really love this place. The pies are great. It's been hard this last year with all of the construction happening right in front. My wife cleans houses for a living and now I have to talk her into going there. My recommendation for my good friend Dave would be to shut down and clean and clean and maybe paint; costly yes, but the city is 'sprucing' up the street, follow their lead. That said the "pies" are the best in town 5*****'s, slices are NYC large and reasonably priced, Calzones are great, Stromboli is fantastic & the "Garlic Knots" again great. 3pm-5pm $1.50 PBR's! Dave you have great pizza, trudat bro!

The guy who owns this place is verbally abusive. He was incredibly standoffish when I tried to use my credit card and he chewed my roommate out about asking for a box. The stories of his unfriendliness are common in Whitefish. He is an angry person and does not represent our town in a positive way. I hope this dude finds happiness but for now find another pizza joint. It's really not that good anyway. Try Jersey Boys or Mackenzie River.

Great place! We chose this pizza place over the others because of the variety of the menu. Someone said buying a whole pizza is expensive. Not compared to what we pay in Minnesota and the 2nd St. pizzas are HUGE! We ordered 2 for a family of 5 and could only finish one. Plus they were giving away a full order of wings ($6 value) with each full pizza. This ended up being the best value for a meal in our entire week in Montana. The pizza was good. The kids really liked the pizza with sliced meatballs on it. We would definitely go back next time we're in town. Be aware that the seating area is fairly small. If you go when they are busy be prepared to wait.

By far in the top two pizza places in the Flathead Valley. Pizza by the slice is awesome, and in Summer, the homemade cheese cake with fresh local huckleberry sauce is incredible. Fresh tossed dough, thin NY style pies, they usually have a reasonable beer on tap (PBR) and some other Micro brews as well. It's pretty evident that ingredients are fresh. Staff is pleasant, restrooms clean, kitchen clean. These guys support the community.

Greek pizza was great, and even better the next day cold, if you like pizza for breakfast?!!! But the all time Best pizza is the Stumptown Supreme ! So many toppings and so many flavors! Just a burst of tastiness, and the sausage wins the battle--it's yummy! Pricey, but with quality like this, it's soooooo worth it! Get it!!

Super good sauce and toppings!! I found the crust a bit thick for me but still real good. The pizza being excellent is not news to locals and tourists which causes for a longer than normal delivery time.

We had the lasagna special and it was pretty good. After seeing the deep dish 'Ditka' I think I would do that next time. Individual slices of a few types of pizza, but anything fancy you have to order a whole pie and there is only one size; big. Not great for just 2 people but if you had a group this would probably be a great place to check out.

Great east coast pizza. By the slice or a whole pie. Be warned though, full pizzas can get pricey here. The pasta is great too. Oddly, the fettucine alfredo was a runny sauce... but good flavor. Only place we really go in town for pizza.

This is a review by a vegetarian Good pizza by the slice. It's also good value. The $3 Sicilian slice is as large as two at other joints.

  • Rod F.

Great pizza, horrible service. I've been going there for over 2 years. I tried talking to staff and Dave but damn it's too much effort to get a word out of them...every time I try to be friendly, I'm met with a grimace and a look that says, hey shut the ##$# up and eat. I'm not looking for a hand job with my meal, just a few words, maybe some common courtesy and the simple fact that when I try to start a conversation I don't need the attitude. You can tell his attitude rubs off on his servers as they too seem bothered and upset at having to help out with a slice. Pizza is great--that's not the issue. After two years, I'm saying good-bye and going over to Jersey Boy's pizza. Pizza is equal and I get a smile with it too. Just one question: why is that most of those in the service industry suck at service? HUH?

We stopped eating there the day I was waiting for an order and I had the pleasure of watching a mouse calmly wandering in and out of the kitchen. The place was always dirty and the "service" sucked completely. I will never set foot in that dump again!

This place is 1) adorable 2) fresh & delicious 3) friendly. It has such a welcoming warmly-lit look about it and you gotta love those real pizza ovens that they use right in front of you. The pizza and anything else you might like to try is fantastic every time and you can tell that it is all homemade. The toppings list is extensive and allows you to come up with all kinds combinations you've never had before but if you're in a hurry they pre-made slices are worth it. Who doesn't love pizza by the slice?! There seem to be a number of reviews calling this place unfriendly but in my experiences the staff has always been genuinely kind and the owner seems like a great guy.

I am revoking my former review and giving a new one. They must have figured it out! I have now been back twice and the service was unbelievably better. Good pizza and exceptional service the last 2 times I was there will keep me coming back. Just keep up the good service and I will return.

Rude and rather distant staff and service. Our wine glass had lipstick and stains on it and when we went to get another one they couldn't find a clean one in the glasses hung up by the register. Finally they collected all of them and washed them. We finally got a clean one. The booths are held together with duct tape. The pizza tasted good but you wonder what other cleanliness problems there are that you don't see. Why chance it when there are other good pizza places in town.

Wish we could give 1/2 stars. They are a solid 3.5 star place. Pizza is fine. Attitudes...... Well, it's hit and miss. Sometimes they have them, sometimes they don't. In the end, they don't care if you like them or not. Or the way they do their pizza. Shut up and eat already.

  • Gillian M.

The only pizza place we ever go! The pizza is great, the service is great, it's an over the counter pizza by the slice restaurant, what do you expect? Dave, the owner is hilarious! A true Queens New Yorker, his sense of humor is quick, dry and shoots from the hip. My New Yorker Father insists on eating there every time he comes into town! You can't go wrong, and they deliver too!!

My husband and I had pizza delivered on 9/1/13. The pizza was okay. Nothing great, but not horrible. Literally the definition of just okay pizza. The delivery took 40 minutes to our hotel room and when it arrived they came without forks or napkins for us. It was a little weird and sloppy service. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We will try Jersey Boys if we get pizza again during our visit.

Both last year and this year I've stopped in for slices. I must say that their quality is good, prices reasonable, and the taste satisfying. The worlds best pizza, probably not. But for a little pizzaria in Nw Montana they do a bang up job, and I'll be back. Oh, and they had a vegan option on the slice choice the last time I went in, very good.

  • Jazmin H.

They make decent pizza but their customer service sucks. We got a Greek pizza that was missing tomatoes, so we called to see what the could do since the pizza was ridiculously salty with just olives and feta cheese. The first girl couldn't help us (and it's pretty sad when you haven't empowered your counter staff to make up for a bad pizza). The owner called us back and said we could have anything that cost a dollar because "the tomatoes cost me a dollar". We asked, "well do you have anything that costs a dollar?" "No", he says. Too bad he doesn't understand customer service is different in Montana than NYC, otherwise this place could be great.

This place was incredibly disappointing. I honestly think you have to go out of your way to have that bad of pizza at those prices. No debit cards pay extra ATM fees in entry. Both of my dining companions got sick and complained about this place for the rest of the day. I ended up taking anti acid pills and harboring some severe discontent. Customer service was acceptable at best. Most of all over priced, I have literally had better pizza at a flying J.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
