Tasty beers, good service, low prices. Hefeweizen was absolutely delicious (albeit I would not call it traditional Hefe)!!! They have a fairly small tasting room, and on Saturday afternoon all seats were taken. We did not mind standing though :-) You can only get three beers per visit, which was not an issue for us that day. Did I say tasty beers? :-)

I thought this place was a top notch tasting room! Lots of great beers on tap and some great seasonals. The crowd is very local which really helps out the atmosphere. A lot of folks were coming in to get growler fill and then heading out after I pint. I came for the full on 64 oz. experience. Which isn't enough. I'd heard about the Java Stout and had been waiting to try it. Very awesome and it did not disappoint. For my second beer I tried the Plum Street Porter which was just as good. I love beer but I'm not too great on describing notes and flavors and what not. I was worried about what to get for my last pint when I saw the bartender give some dudes something that looked like a Shotski board. Sampler! I was able to try four more of the beers as samples to count for my last pint. (Montana needs to change some laws.) I had a great time relaxing and enjoying some great beers. Would love to go when they had music playing.

Went there with my son and had a great time sampling brews and just visiting with my son. we bought a couple Growlers of our favorite brews for later. The Growler is a way cool idea. I will be back there in July this year and will most definatly go to this place

I used to work in an office above the tasting room and always appreciated the 4-8 p.m. hours. Open just long enough to chill out and enjoy a few beverages (which at the time - 2010 - was legally all you could have). This is as good of an after work, post hike and post ski place as I could imagine. I love the beer and the the bartenders were always friendly and knowledgeable - and remembered my name. Maybe that's because I went there every day. ;)

Love, love, love this place! Delicious beer, free popcorn and good company. Can it get much better? My favorite beers are the Plum Street Porter and their hefeweizen... ahh, I can't remember the name, but it sooo delish! Love the swag too. Great pint glasses and t-shirts! Enjoy!

A good selection of beers, a rowdy after-work crowd, and a rather disinterested bartender. Not a bad spot but nothing great.

I was really excited to go to the Bozone brewery after hearing so many great things about the place, but was disappointed. The bartender was too busy eating pizza at the bar with her family to tend to her customers and then lied to a few patrons saying they were out of popcorn because they were too lazy to make a new batch...please do not advertise patrons to notify the bartender if the popcorn is out, when they have no intention on putting the customers first. Way to go Bozone Brewery! 406 and Madison River breweries here we come!

The beer is creative and tasty. I love this place.

Good beer and fun place to hang out with friends - if there is room. This place gets so packed so fast its hard to turn around. I really hope they expand soon as I have had to stop going due to the crowds. If you get in give the hopzone a try, its delightful!

Great local spot indeed. Good choices of their brew on tap ready to go home with you in a growler for $7-$11...can't beat that. Good scene and feel of the place.

Great beer but not much room for seating. The Monday night band is usually pretty good as well. Give the java stout a try next time you're there if they have it.

Wanna go where the locals hang out and have excellent, fresh beer on tap, PLUS see some amazing local talented musicians? Then you have to go to the BBC, yo! I went with a local who showed me around the town and this was definately one of my favorite stops. The beer was fantastic- I couldn't steer away from the heady IPA and I caught a great Bluegrass band- the only downside to the place is that they close down early. However, it is family oriented.

I have been to many micro breweries in the US. This one that has been around for quite awhile is interesting because of the shocking lack of any real quality in its beers. Usually the problem with microbreweries is the ridiculous tannins issue that shows up with un qualified brewmasters. This place suffers from simple crappy beer and beer recipes. They suck. When I went in, the tiny tasting room was full of 22 year old types. The back road to the local ski hill was nearby so it made sense. That age doesnt have very high expectations. The Hefeweisen is tasteless. The amber ale tries to cover itself with a creamy head instead of quality and a normal carbonation. It cant hide. The growlers are cheap and they should be. These beers are truly garbage. Really hard to believe this place has survived this long. The beers at Quarry in Butte are not perfect but 10 times better than this place. I am honestly amazed at this low grade place.

Love Bozone Amber! Few Ambers compare. Try it pretty much anywhere in Bozeman :) Plum St. Porter great too

I have always thought their beer is some of the best in the state, and the brewers are great folks. The only reason I would ever give them a lower rating is because of the pub and its myriad problems. It doesn't handle a crowd well at all, and it is incredibly hot in the summer. The lack of outdoor seating is a major drawback in the summer and winter. Locals often go somewhere else, simply because they can't tolerate the annoyances of the space; people need a good place to drink good beer. Try some of the seasonal offerings, as the brewers are adventurous and they like to provide a variety of styles; not many MT breweries offer a Baltic Porter.

Awesome microbrewery pub! It was definatley a popular local hangout because it was packed elbow to elbow with everything from college students to business men. Will definatley return next time I'm in Bozeman. Also I highly recommend the seasonal Java Stout!

Drinks were GREAT!! Service was awesome!! There is a 3 drink maximum and then you have to buy a growler, why is it called a growler ( I just looked it up, dates back to the 19th century and has to do with the sound the lid made while gasses were escaping.. apparently it growled.) If anything the Hefeweizen here was so smooth I was highly impressed. The merchandise they have here for sell are a bit overpriced for sure.

For those seeking an unfiltered, authentic Bozeman experience, a visit to Bozeman Brewing Company -- located in an old pea factory and nestled alongside the lumberyards and train depots of Bozeman's oft-neglected Northeast side -- is a necessity. Atmosphere: In the "cozy" taproom (i.e. tiny and cramped, but in an endearing way) on a typical Friday afternoon, young upper-middle-class professionals rub shoulders (quite literally) with bearded ski bums and rugged old regulars, but the environment is that of unassailable cheer. The crowded confines offer BBC patrons a rather intimate experience that essentially forces strangers to mingle with strangers. In fact, sometimes BBC feels like stumbling into a convention of the friendliest people in Bozeman. (4.75 / 5) Beer: Obviously the most important part of any taproom, and fortunately, BBC offers the some of the best craft beer in Montana. Their Bozone Amber is a local classic (and was the foundation of my first college kegger), but forgo it in favor of their crisp and funky Hefeweisen or the Java Stout -- which is remarkably smooth and creamy, like a robust cup of black coffee mixed with good half-and-half. The seasonal rotators are hit-and-miss (mostly due to the brewery's noble knack for experimentation), but when they nail it -- like last fall's Terroir Fresh Hop Ale -- the results can be magnificent. (4.5 / 5) Food: There's no food except for popcorn (which is enough for me when I'm pounding down pints), but a BBQ truck operates out of the adjacent parking lot. (N/A) Overall: Regardless of how much time you have to spend in Bozeman, if you're a beer fan, make BBC a priority. You're guaranteed excellent craft beer, and if you're willing, some riveting conversation with a fascinating menagerie of locals and out-of-staters. (P.S. I don't know what "Heywood J." did to receive poor service, but not in my six years in Bozeman did I once receive nothing less than fantastic service here, even on my first visits when I was a total beer newbie.)

Ok, so I'm not a regular... But while in town I popped in for a pint. This place is "quirky" to say the least... Not a lot of seating, popcorn popped fresh (was never offered?), and nobody behind the bar(?) Don't even get me started on the music selection... Waited for a few minutes... Guy from back peeks head around corner, but walks in the "Employees Only" door and vanishes. A few minutes later the barkeep shows up from outside and I order a Hefe (5.4% and $3.50). It's really weak (as in watery, not cloudy, and nowhere near mysterious). Barkeep comes over to see how things are going (thank goodness!) He suggests the Baltic Porter (6.0% and $3.50). It's out of this world good! So good that the original rating for this review was going to be 2-stars... Now it's 4! Ok... Barkeep saves the day! I was going to be one and done... Thinking there's gotta be better places to go in Bozeman (And going to suggest that you should look for them too!)

Out of the 4 or 5 breweries in Bozeman this is my favorite by far. The widest selection in terms of styles. They always have one cask beer. Which I wish was their Porter more often. With that being said their Porter is out of this world wether it's on cask or not. If you're coming here to drink know that by MT state law they can only serve you 3 pints at the tasting room. Plan accordingly

Great beer! Faves: Amber, Belgian Single, Beer Engine IPA Cask conditioned w/centennial and calypso

Technically good beer, but rarely exciting. If you like 'normal' styles and a safe drinking experience that the whole family can enjoy, then this is your place. I like the vibe in the tasting room, and the owners/staff are friendly. But, as a beer geek, I'm looking for more exciting, juicy, experimental, stuff. Most of the 'hoppy beers' are about 10 notches more muted than excellent examples in the rest of the country. Come on Bozone!! Step up ur game - or you risk becoming irrelevant like many of the early breweries in other similar towns (just look at the trajectory of most of the first breweries in Boulder Colorado). There is still time to ramp it up!

It is a small location with limited seating in a casual environment. On warmer days, it is almost stifling inside. And the tasting room is subject to Montana's current arcane and anti-competitive rules with regards to hours of operation and a 3 beer per customer, per visit, limit. Despite this, the place has a good vibe and some most excellent beer. I am particularly fond of some of the regular offerings. The Bozone Select Amber Ale, Bozone Hefeweizen, and Bozone Plum St. Porter are all tasty beers, and worthy of your drinking time and money.

Rude and rather inhospitable service. If you are not a regular, apparently you should expect to be treated poorly. Decent beer line up and decent space, but the 406 has a much better rotation and selection of beers, and far better ambience and service. If you are looking for something more polished, give Bridger a try.

This place is 3.5 stars. All solid beer but nothing too unique or exceptional. The space is pretty neat and it's in Bozeman so that's cool. The server was super pretentious which I found entertaining. Sample conversation: Me - What's the MT Common? Bartender - Exactly that. It's a common. My advice, try the beer, no need to buy the mug.
