I am not a food snob -- well, maybe a snob about Southern food -- but Mammy's was a big disappointment. The reviews don't match the food at all. Lunch for two people with tip was $35!! I think that's a lot of money for very small portions. When we asked for ice water to drink we were brought two bottles of water and two glasses of ice. We were told that we can't have just tap water. ( The water was $2 per bottle.) We both ordered sandwiches which though on very good white bread, were very skimpy on the meat. The sandwiches (as mentioned by other reviewers) came with a cup of very mediocre, non-homemade vegetable soup, and a teeny portion of potato salad. My daughter got the potato salad with her sandwich, but when I ordered, I asked if I could substitute the layered salad for the potato salad. The waitress didn't tell me that I would be charged another $2 for subbing the layered salad. The layered salad portion was about 1/3 cup and instead of real pieces of bacon actually had Baco-s -- i.e., fake bacon pieces. My daughter had a piece of lemon icebox pie for dessert. As I ordered no dessert, I tasted my daughter's and confirmed what I could see which is that it had Cool Whip on the top instead of real whipped cream and the crust was awful and clearly not homemade. This was not Southern food that was worth such a steep price. I live in Atlanta and I'm used to high prices which I'm happy to pay if the food is worth it. This food most definitely wasn't. The service was good though. I recommend just driving by Mammy's and getting a picture, then going into Natchez for lunch.

If you are a lover of the kitschy roadside Americana (and I am) that is all too fast dying out, Mammy's Cupboard is a must visit. If nothing else, I always try to support these types of places, as once they are gone they seldom return. It's got to be harder (& relatively more expensive) running a small place like this than a brand new fast food franchise. For that reason alone I've given them a bonus star. The food selection is limited but it was very good "home style" cooking. Staff were very friendly & the entrance area gives a bit of the history of the place. Will definitely return if back in the area!

Fun place to go, ole south kitsch and home cooking. Nothing fancy but everything is good. We had chicken salad sandwiches with vegetable soup. The bread is homemade and awesome. Banana caramel pie is a must!

*** 3.5 stars *** Small selection, but I really enjoyed my chicken pot pie. Overall a bit pricey for the area, probably because it is touristy (is it shaped like Mammy and you dine in her skirt!). The salad that came with pie I could do without (personal preference - others I was with loved it - I just personally hate sour cream and couldn't believe how much "stuff' there was on top of the salad). The sandwiches just looked okay, so I'm glad that I went with the pot pie (Friday special). The lemonade that they are famous for is definitely on the sweet side, so if you have a sweet tooth, this would be your thing. For pie, we had the lemon ice box, which was covered in a lot of icing. I think I would have preferred the lemon meringue pie. I definitely enjoyed seeing and experiencing Mammy's, and enjoyed my pot pie, but the rest of it was just okay to me. I know that others I was with come here all the time and really enjoy it, so check it out for yourself and decide!

We're only having dessert today but it's delicious!! I would come back! Everyone was raving about the red beans & rice. It's a fun experience if you're in town.

Food wasn't great but the service was welcoming. Worth it only to stop for the photo IMHO.

You MUST stop here!! Dining under the skirt of this amazing historical architecture will bring you right back to Grandma's kitchen. The homemade Lemon Meringue Pie was the best by far... I didn't try but judging by all the rave about the Blueberry Lemonade I should have given that a try too .. well I guess this just means another road trip in the future back to MAMMY'S. Thank you for the visit!

Average food but the desserts are excellent. Go there for dessert and go somewhere else for your en

Great country fare, chicken pot pie to die for, but only on available on Friday. You will not be dissapointed in this cute little tourist trap shaped like "Mammy". American classic food, good service and homemade desserts but no credit cards, try it you will probably have a fun experience.

Small selection, but it's good food! Highly recommend blueberry lemonade and the hummingbird pie for dessert

I've lived in Natchez for close to a year now and have not gone to eat here until today. I can honestly say it was one of the best lunches i have ever had. I had Rosemary Chicken. It was so absolutely delicious and the side salad was great too. It had a very tangy, spicy dressing. Chicken was tender and delicious. I had the banana caramel pie for dessert just because the server brought it to the table just for us to look at and i couldnt pass it up so i ordered a piece of that too. I dont think you can go wrong by ordering anything in this cute little place. Their blueberry lemonade is to die for so order that too. Also, everyone was so friendly and seemed happy to be working there. They have a little gift shop too with cute little knick knacks and stuff. Thank you Mammy's Cupboard for such an enjoyable experience.

A must-see in Natchez, Mammy's Cupboard was built in the 1940s, presumably when funky roadside buildings were the rage to lure travelers in for food/lodging. They serve lunch from 11am-2pm Monday thru Sat and take cash or check only - no credit cards. The roasted turkey sandwich was delicious and served with a side of vegetable beef soup. The real standout at Mammy's are their pies! So amazing! Several types of Meringue pies - including lemon, coconut and chocolate and also ice box pies as well. We had the lemon ice box pie and it was really good, but the best one had to be the banana caramel pie. So delicious!!! Definitely a fun stop on a road trip and an iconic building, but don't expect gourmet eats.

Old time luncheon place. Great soups, sanwiches, and WONDERFUL desserts! Must go for any travelers seeking pics of old Natchez.

Came to see the unusual building (shaped like a "Mammy", not sure if that's even ok...), but loved the food! Great chicken salad, potato salad, and pies. Seriously...the pecan pie is divine!

If you visit Natchez without stopping in at Mammy's, you're committing a cardinal sin. Eating here is like stepping back in time, to another era. How often do you have the opportunity to eat in the skirt of a 28-foot-high statue of MAMMY?!! Don't get me started. They serve up delicious soups & wonderful sandwiches. And don't forget to order some of their fabulous banana caramel pie. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! So you can go on a diet some other day. P.s. Open for Lunch only.

I have lived in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Natchez, Memphis and Chicago and this is one of my favorite lunch spots. My personal favorite sandwiches are the Reuben and turkey. My favorite special is the red beans and rice. Bring cash because no credit cards accepted. Also, call ahead if you are planning a trip because they do take a couple of weeks if vacation per year. Save room for dessert & if you see your favorite make sure you tell your server so they do not sell out of your pick!

Had the roast beef sandwich, it came with a cup of vegetable soup and a scoop (maybe 1/3 cup serving) of potato salad. Really liked my sandwich but the soup was canned and the potato salad was not homemade. Tourist place to stop at but not great food. They are cash only, which I find to be a negative.

First off this place is definitely a tourist trap. Alright now that, that's out of the way the food is actually pretty good. The Chicken Rosemary is really good, however I wish it came with more mushrooms. The salad on the side was fresh, but I was not a fan of the dressing it was way to thick for me. Blueberry lemonade, while refreshing, was not tart enough for my liking. The lemon icebox pie was excellent as well.

Known for their homemade pies and preserves. This place is awesome! Get there early because there is usually a line out the door but it's worth the wait!
