If you're looking for a great place to watch the game, here's your spot. I watched most of the World Cup here last summer and I've come back several times to watch various college football games. It's every bit a classic sports bar. If you're craving fancy cocktails or fine dining, this is not for you. But if you want a cold beer, a burger and an assortment of huge TV screens, Capitol Grill really cannot be beat! Though at times, when it gets especially packed and crowded, the service can get quite slow (understandably), the servers and bartenders are always friendly and very clearly trying their best to make sure everyone has a good time. It's a relaxed atmosphere. It can definitely get quite loud but I've never seen it really get rowdy. The beer selection is decent and the food is pretty good for bar food! I particularly enjoy the Mac and cheese burger, as it's a clever combination of my two favorite foods. Like I said, if you wanna watch the game somewhere fun and relaxed with some friends, go with Capitol Grill.

Visited here this evening anticipating a good meal. What we found was overpriced, underwhelming food and heat, heat, heat. Only one a/c unit trying to cool this place with high ceilings and an open kitchen. Even the beer was warm. Owner should be ashamed to put an $8 price tag on fried green tomato. 4 slices of tomato (about the size of a Roma tomato) comes out to $2 per slice. The oysters in my poboy were so mushy that I had to leave most of it uneaten. Reading the good reviews on here I can't understand how we could have had such a miserable experience. Can't recommend and can't go back.

Love this place. Great for watching the game and it's even better if John is behind the bar. The menu is not for dieters. The service is great just make sure some sees you take a seat because it can take the servers a while to see you because you seat yourselves. Great atmosphere.

The food is no better than any other sports bar in town - nothing special. Was in last night for drinks with friends and had to witness some ignorant drunk yelling and being entirely disrespectful of one of the employees. Definitely not the atmosphere my party and I were hoping for. Definitely would not recommend if you want to enjoy yourself and relax. Who can relax when others are being so ugly. A definite change is in order for this establishment or I doubt they will survive long. Personally I won't return for quite a while.

Pretty bad experience at World Cup Final. Since it was packed is the only reason I've giving 2 stars instead if 1. Terrible waiter that had no clue about the menu or drink selection. This is your job and you should know what's on tap and various menu items. Only saw the guy 1-2 times an hour. Messed up several of our orders. We ordered only to find out that lots of items were "out". This included Gator Bites, Chicken wings, and chicken tenders. How do you run out of wings? Go to Kroger and buy some for a big game day. The nachos we got were terrible. Burned and a seriously skimpy portion. Overall, it seems that there is some bad management going on. This place was shut down for a while and may be the best choice. There are some many better choices out there that offer better service, selection, and value.

Nothing special and hardly "upscale" as they like to call themselves. I'll grab a beer here from time to time and watch a game, but the food is sub par and if there are more than 15-20 people here the ticket times are north of 30 minutes, if not a full hour.

Previous management had GREAT food. This mgmt? Ehhhh. Food is not great. Red beans and rice with minute rice is not good. Salad with "steak" added then it arrives with philly steak shreds. For drinking-I'd give 4/5 stars. Food 2/5. Not that good.

For a sports bar, this place has some serious food. The five stars is based on the food, location, and freshness for a mid to low range price. A lot of it is fried and served with homemade sauces like comeback or ranch. If I'm going to eat fried, this is where I'd go. They also have a really good grilled shrimp that tastes light, fresh, and healthy. My kids love the chicken tenders and they make a good hamburger also. We generally go on Sunday after church so we don't experience any problems.

The home of American Outlaws Jackson, the local national soccer teams (men's and women's) supporters group. We floated from bar to restaurant until Capitol Grill opened up, and invited us to watch the games. It was the first time an establishment actually called US, and not the other way around. Since then, it has been phenomenal. There are drink specials for, not only every US game, but every event we hold there! They will bend over backwards to get the game you want to watch on one of their televisions (12 or 13, if I'm not mistaken, maybe more than that). If it's only on ESPN3, they'll still find a way for you to watch it. The food is amazing. The servers will tell you that everything is good, and so far, they've been right every time. I can't say enough about Capitol Grill!

Visited here last night to eat and watch basketball, and I was so impressed that I jut had to update my review. This place was AWESOME last night. We arrived in time to catch the tail end of happy hour, which was a steal. $1 off beers, and half off pretty much every other drink (wine and liquor). Our server was super nice and he went out of his way to accommodate us a few times. He was very polite and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We ordered traditional wings and some tenders as well. They came out in a timely fashion, and they were HUGE! I really don't think I've every seen chicken tenders or wings this big. It was like they picked the alpha chickens that ate all the little runt chickens. We tried all of their sauces, and they were great. The best part of the night, though, was that the Grizzlies beat the Warriors. Icing on the cake, I'd say.

Let me start by saying that if you come here and do not order their chicken tenders, you are doing yourself a huge disservice! Their chicken tenders are AMAZING. So amazing that I could eat them everyday of my life and be completely content. They are HUGE and slathered in delicious sauce (my favorite is the sweet chili and spicy garlic). 3 can easily fill you up. My boyfriend and I usually split 6 and still have leftovers. Being a sports bar, they naturally have really good happy hour specials! If you have an EatJxn card, you get 15% off!

I frequent this place for most all of the USA soccer games. They are always friendly and welcome you with open arms. The food is great. My favorite would be the Shrimp Poboy. I was honestly shocked at how good it was the first time I got it. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

Good wings, good service, good drinks. Simple put, a very decent sports bar. Apparently that's hard to find in the Jackson area on a late Sunday night. After visiting two places I ended up here. Solid 3. Fun place. Spicy garlic wings were good, mushrooms were divine.

Capitol Grille is in the shopping center next to SteinMart and right behind CVS. This place is a great addition to the Briarwood area--mostly because it offers a good night-time option to residents nearby. Our friends really just came for drinks and small plates but we got to try the po-boy, crab cakes, oysters, and soft shell crab. We didn't really get to try any of the entrees but i heard they were good as well. They do have live music at nights--so call ahead and check their schedule. I bet Capitol Grille is a huge hit during football season--because they have a TV in every corner imaginable. Great place...try it soon if you haven't already!

Have known the owners of this place for years but I was still skeptical if they would pull it off... and they did! Believe all the hype, this place is great! The food is innovative, creative and delicious!!

Tried this spot for lunch. It was pretty good & service was good as well. I had the pasta dumaine. It was okay, but I look forward to trying their oysters next time! Nice menu variety...but not over powering, which I appreciate. Seems it can eventually flourish in the area as a nice social spot!

Very good oysters!!!!!!!! I'd definitely order their burger again. Beer was cold. Only bad thing to say is the restaurant was HOT. Those windows in the afternoon attract a lot of sunshine and the air just isn't working well enough to account for the near 100 degree summer afternoon heat in Jackson.

Slow service. Got three things wrong with my wife's salad. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. I think this place would be great to watch a game, but that's it.

Went for lunch on a Sunday. The service was ok except for the fact we waited for 45 minutes plus to get our po boys. When it came out, one order was completely wrong. The waitress apologized and said she would correct it. After another 30 minutes and still no food I finally just got it to go. Worst part is the manager realized the mistake when they first brought the wrong order but she never once came back to apologize. The restaurant was not busy so it is unacceptable to have to wait that long. All the waitress offered was a free desert. As for the food, the po boy was average but at $10+ wasn't worth it. Atmosphere is very plain and has no character. The place can't decide if it is a sports bar with all the tv's or a fine dining restaurant. I understand it is new but with the poor management and mediocre food this place will be out of business in 6 months.
